I love the different shades of Ezra. I love his cleverness. I love how self-assured he is. He fucks up a lot, but making a mistake never stops him from marching forward (and with a smile on his face!).

I love how detached he is from most people. He stirs the pot just to have fun watching people boil. It's probably what got him stuck on the Green to begin with.

And he has a soft spot for Cee and how her Dad did her wrong. And he probably has a soft spot for all children--angry at the callousness he faced in his own childhood.

But there is a point where the children become adults, and after that--no more sympathy remains.

and Ezra is always curious. Always picking apart a puzzle. It's like he's in this eternal battle for the upper-hand. Only to be humbled as soon as he finds it. Only to repeat the process again and again.

Rejection rarely, if ever, affects him. Even romantic rejection. He doesn't over-invest in others--more concerned about his own goals and profits.

He's sturdy and selfish and he has no apologies for it.
