I need to take a moment and talk about Last Twilight. The sheer realism in this show is really what I wanted to talk about. My uncle recently lost his eyesight after a medical episode, so I understand the people around Day quite well. The way this show is handling it is so spot on, and I just needed to express how close to home it hits.
Things like Day hitting his toe on the counter and having to find things in the cupboard by feel and muscle memory are small things that they didn’t leave out of his “healing process.” The way Mhok guides him but never coddles him is another thing I love. He gives Day space to do things on his own which Day needs as he’s accepting the fact he’ll never see again. When someone lives such an active and social life like him and has all their freedom basically taken away like that, it’s hard on them. Getting Day out of the house was one of the best things Mhok could do for him in the closed-off state Day was in when he was hired. Letting Day wait alone at the restaurant for August was not only such a great way to have Day trust and appreciate him, but also just good for Day in general to be out and regain confidence.
Mhok telling Day where his food was located like a clock is a very real thing. I know my uncle prefers finger foods and salads now because it’s easier to eat if he can feel what it is or just know that everything is in one bowl, which I feel is like the vibe Day is going with saying he only likes his mother’s cooking (since it’s familiar and he knows what she makes he doesn’t have to think much about what’s on his plate.)
Anywho, I just wanted to say I really enjoy the authenticity of this show and am so happy Jimmy and Sea have been able to portray their characters so realistically. I am so in love with the care that went into this show🥰

How Corlys Velaryon got his nickname 'The Sea Snake' ... wrong(?) answers only:
I'll go first.
• He's really good at slithering around on his stomach. Like a Slip 'n Slide, that one 🐍

me voice: Once again, Uk'otoa is a leviathan, ergo a snake. Calamari is squid, so you need a kraken for that. Uk'otoa does not have tentacles because he is a sea serpent.

I'm not complaining that he is a cow but why is Belphegor a Cow
Cow is not what I would associate with Sloth and the depiction of Belphegor is like standard devil?????

Of course before Mattie gave Leader anything, she tackled him with a big hug. When she pulled away, she held out a light blue gift box covered in axolotls wearing reindeer antlers. “Merry Christmas, Sam! I hope you like it!” Inside the box was a new lab coat she had made for him pattern with sharks and deep sea fish, a documentary on prehistoric sea creatures, and a plushie of Sushi.
@awkward-snake-girl
Samuel grumbled when he was hug, something that he mostly did for show. After all, if he showed that he liked affection then Mattie wouldn't ever be terrified of him!
All grumbliness immediately fades away though when he sees the gift held out to him. It becomes replaced by a loud rumbling purr at the sight of the gift. Everything about it was bright and colourful, drawing his attention to every little aspect. It was chaotic, but frankly that just fit how Sam liked it about his science.
His ears flicked away as he laughed over the gifts, clutching Sushi to his chest and finally hugging Mattie back. "Alright, alright! Thank you for this! I'll make sure to wear it, watch it and hug her eveyrday."
