Luigi in the story is just so fed up with his life in the MK, he's willing to do anything to escape it. It's alluded to in the story that Bowser didn't really have to do much to get Luigi to trust him, the cracks in the foundation were already showing, so to speak. Specifically the lyric below really sums up his choices in the story.

Ok so for the last one the context is it's definitely after the first fall... I think when Gene visits Finny after the second fall or Finny's surgery from said fall turns out ok and he's on crutches again.

The characters are Gene, Finny, Brinker and Leper trying to be like normal again (but I know this is dumb cause Lep is LITERALLY CLINICALLY INSANE A PYSCHO). I'd like the situation to be the first option because there's a line that says, "Let's go be seventeen [...] Act like we're all still kids, cause this could be our final chance!" and the irony is that it IS their final chance cause you all know what happens in surgery then 😒

But I don't know how to have them all partying if Finny's literally still in the bed, like he's not moving all that much 💀💀💀💀 Anyway I need to learn how to draw Brink and Lep if I do this

If any of you have seen the show Murdoch Mysteries, you know that she was a diabolical villain. She was able to pull one over on Detective Murdoch and use men to her advantage. Maneater is about a woman “who makes you work hard, makes you spend hard, make you went all her love”.

Ocean O’Connell-Rosenburg-Are You Satisfied? By Marina And The Diamonds

As a former gifted kid myself, I know what it’s like to feel that pressure to succeed. Ocean doesn’t realize until it was too late that she wasn’t satisfied with her life.

Hana Kuroo x Kotaro Bokuto-O Sol e a lúa by Pequeno Cidadão

Hana’s another character of mine, a 2nd year on the Nekoma girls team (and Kuroo’s little sister👀). Hana sometimes has a hard time coming out of her shell, unlike Bokuto, who is her absolute opposite. Wonder how Kuroo would react if he realized one of his friends had a crush on his younger sister 😮

Simon “Ghost” Riley-Chamber Of Reflection

Chamber of Reflection is about self-isolation, loneliness and reflection. I’m sure Simon himself has had moments where he questions why he even chose his life in the first place. A life where he can never have peace, always looking over his shoulder. Ghost seems to ice cold on the outside, but after all he’s been through, the man on the inside is considering if his job (or life even) is worth it.

Dipper Pines-Freaking Out The Neighborhood

I’m not entirely sure why this fits but I think it does, maybe on vibes? I don’t know, this song absolutely “summer-time shenanigans with your twin as you solve the mystery of your small town”. Also the line, “sorry, mama, there are times I get carried away” is very Dipper-esc.

Chuya Matsumoto(JJK oc)-GO! by Santigold

Chuya is a second year, with a technique that is based off of a hyena spirit called the Kishi. She’s pretty much “fight first, ask questions later” and is pretty goofy and often not the brightest. Yet, she’s not to be taken lightly. She’s a powerful sorcerer in training, who does not like to be underestimated.

Sayuri Fujimoto (Haikyuu oc) x Yu Nishinoya-make Me Like You by Gwen Stefani

Despite Sayuri and Noya both being liberos, they’re both complete opposites. Sayuri’s also the type to be “romantic feelings? Never heard of her”. But then Noya comes waltzing into her life and she’s just “WAIT NO WHY DID YOU MAKE ME CATCH FEELINGS”

One thing about the Tremaines is that they’re very ambitious— they believe you have to fight tooth and nail for everything, and if you have to cheat and lie to do so, that’s an accomplishment tbh. Another reason Annie gets involved with Charlie is because he represents this kind of social-climbing victory for her, he’s old-money rich and older and accomplished, and to her that’s just as important as who someone is as a person.

This song represents Annie trying to be the kind of girl she thinks Charlie will like. Someone who’s happy all the time and eats healthy and also an object of desire. This song is very satirical from the “cool girl” or “it girl” pov that is really just based on impossible standards for women but i think annie would really try to embody this.

4. 001 by maude latour

I like to shine bright like a fucking star

I think this song is about performing in a literal sense but I think for Annie it’s about needing to be in the spotlight, She tries to act like the only attention she needs is from one person, but in reality, she wants an audience. So this song and the “shine bright like a fucking star” lyric reminded me of the moment I pulled out from that task I wrote about Annie meeting charlie.

5. mirrorball by taylor swift

I'm still on that tightrope I'm still trying everything to get you laughing at me I'm still a believer but I don't know why I've never been a natural All I do is try, try, try I'm still on that trapeze I'm still trying everything To keep you looking at me

Another song about being in the spotlight, but this song gets even more specifically about how hard you have to try to seem effortless. And it’s also more specifically about doing it for a person, and this is maybe when Annie starts reaching for Charlie’s attention more specifically. So Annie isn’t blonde, but she is obsessed with her appearance, and she’s changed many things about it to try and meet beauty standards. And specifically to be the kind of person who looks good with the guy she likes, to impress the people in his life and be worthy of him. Obviously this is very toxic thinking but it’s the mindset Annie grew up with so here we are.

Okay so from a story perspective this song is actually not very relevant lol but I felt like it fit a similar vibe to 001 and mirrorball, enjoying having an audience and being onstage and being sparkly etc. None of the stuff about your mom disapproving really fits the story, but also I do think that Annie probably didn’t get to go out the way she enjoyed doing as much once she started dating Charlie because she wanted to seem more “classy” so this is maybe like a sort of alternate universe. Also this song slaps so.

Another song that’s meant to be satirical of the exact thing Annie’s doing, another thing about the Tremaines is they love MONEY and will chase it in whatever way they can. This is something about Charlie Annie is really drawn to and I think the world he comes from would be a little bit intoxicating to her.

This song is all about reminiscing back on your relationship and only wanting to remember the good parts. But I actually DONT think it’s post breakup Annie, I think it’s pre-wedding Annie, when she’s not feeling so sure about this but she tries to remind herself that they ARE good together and pretend she did everything right and forget the bad stuff. This worked out super well for her btw.

Yes another Raffaella song sorry. This is about the DIVORCE. It’s the last song because it’s Annie really looking back on this relationship and trying not to be sad about it. Because sad feels powerless to her and angry feels powerful, but all she can really feel is the former. She hates that she’s still drawn to him even though he hurt her, and she just wants to forget him. So this is also kind of a meta retrospective song and I thought it would be a good closer.

perhaps a hot take but the lyrics to tht song always make me think way more of N52 Tim specifically rather than pre reboot Tim, especially the second verse

“Are you satisfied with an average life?” His whole motivation for getting involved in hero work is that he wants more, to prove himself worthy of his parents love. That he isn’t satisfied with an average life.

“Do I need to lie to make my way in life?” Because he took on being a hero, he has an alias (Red Robin) and is constantly lying and hiding things obviously- but beyond that the thing that’s more N52 Tim specific? He becomes ‘Tim Drake’, when Drake isn’t his original last name (we never find out what it was)- it’s a witness protection name he takes on because of his actions. He’s literally living with a fake name, lying to make his way in that version of his life!
