new rarepair acquired kakashi and shizune date for about a year while kakashi is hokage it started when shizune got tired of seeing him overworked and stressed and tired and went LORD HOKAGE SIR I AM TAKING YOU OUT TO DINNER and they have dates and sneak off to make out on the roof at night and kiss when no one is watching them in the hokage office and they literally act like teenagers with their first love because kakashi didnt get to be a normal kid much less a normal teenager who gets to do stupid stuff and probably neither did shizune so now they're in their 30s and ordering expensive take out with the hokages money to eat in their pajamas on the living room floor
#they break off after a little over a year but its mutual and literally no venom or bad feelings#they were just ready to move on to other things#namely kakashi has a crush on iruka#shed probably help him with it too#like even after theyre not together they remain besties#overall it is very healthy and light and they both needed that#also shizune would probably be kakashis first real girlfriend#bc here are the hc we came up with me n abbey#obito was his first crush#then rin was his first kiss#tenzo was his first love and his first time - they didnt really date but they had some sort of relationship#he tried kissing gai when they were both drunk. the conclusion is that the kiss is good#but they're just besties#and then shizune#qnd after shizune theres iruka and theyee old and gay and narutos dads#these ttags got long. its 1:30 am

Teen Tuvok tried smoking once and coughed so hard he nearly threw up and while he was lying in the dirt behind the temple, trying to catch his breath, he thought “Wow...smoking truly is bad for you.” and he never did it again - partially because of that realization but more because he was deeply embarrassed about the whole coughing fit thing.

my naming scheme for the resurrectionists causes me undue stress a lot of the time but when it works it Works
#edgar mortis is obv edgar allen poe + latin word for death. and his surname plays off the fact that there are four other resurrection men#only identified by their surnames which are pallor livor rigor and algor. rigor mortis should be easy to clock but the rest are all stages#of death as well when you attach -mortis to the end of them. which cements edgar's identity as a resurrection man even when he's farrr too#consumed by morana's world of magic and mystery to be actively working.#morana faust is a slavic death goddess + faust. the most famous necromancer in all of fiction. once again her surname cements her identity#as a necromancer specifically even when she gets swept away by unrelated magical happenings#nine and shi aren't their real names but their identification numbers are 9444999 and 4999444. 9 and 4 are both associated with death and#each of their numbers are the other's but reversed. also nine was a classical composer in life and there's a superstition that classical#composers will not live to write their 9th symphony (he sure as hell didn't lol) so it's fitting that he's the one who ended up with the#nickname. abberline isn't his real name either so he doesn't count. valdís has ancient norse for 'death' (val) + 'dis' (goddess) despite th#name not actually being used for any actual death goddess and her surname toth is likely derived from a medieval german word for death#her name isn't glaringly out of place with the rest of the cast but doesn't immediately let you catch on to her whole deal#which is good bc valdís is meant to sort of blend into the backround of reader's minds until The Reveal.#mara is a minor hindu goddess of death and her surname grave is. well. self explanatory. i tried to give the more non-magical side of londo#more straightforward names to contrast with some of the others and obv her dad was created before her and dr grave seemed like a good name#for someone who only popped up in the story while he was hiring professional grave robbers (now he pawns that task off on mara lol)#ereshkigal kore is just queen of the underworld + queen of the underworld but def has a very grandiose feel which is good bc that's#absolutely the vibes she should be giving off. all her servants' names boil down to figures associated with the greek + mesopotamian#underworlds. mainly attendants of aforementioned goddesses. which fits bc they all serve her#but i'd like to give special consideration to the maid trio here bc they're a set of triplets. and their last name is cerberus.#which famously had 3 heads. and the older two feature a similar naming scheme as persephone + eurydice (they even both end in the same e#sound) but the youngest's name is aisha which means 'living' or 'alive'. and obv her departure from the naming scheme makes her more easily#differentiated from her sisters + more memorable in the long run which is good bc she's the most important maid but it also gives me room t#have a 'my name means alive but she's named for the queen of the underworld so i'm willing to not live up to my name if it means being#closer to her' moment w a shitton of lilies in frame in case it isn't clear to anyone what's going on ('her' means eresh not persephone btw#and then there's dysmas. the patron saint of undertakers. which fits bc catholic. and sanson. as in the executioner. for a character heavil#inspired by the nasuverse's church executioners like kirei and ciel#rosette comes from the rosette nebula which looks like a skull. hayden is from one of my kids at work who said that next time i wrote a#murderer into something i had to name them after her so. here you go hayden. you get to be the cannibalistic child. What do you think drove Frazie and Dion apart?
A lot of things, really.
There's the big, obvious reason—Frazie's psychic, Dion shares his parents' psychophobia. There's the stresses of puberty, of financial strain, of younger siblings that their parents can't care for on their own. There's the differing ways that Frazie and Dion respond to stress���Dion represses, buries everything and pretends to be stoic and unaffected, while Frazie finds something to throw pinecones at to work out her frustrations.
There's Dion trying oh so hard to be "grown up", trying so hard to be Responsible and Mature as a result of his parentification, cutting out the things he views as childish and acting like a jerk. There's Frazie coping with her own parentification in similar ways (no longer playing mind games with Raz, trying to hide her powers, "I'm not going to break Mom and Dad's hearts like you did."), yet still being able to engage with her younger siblings on their level. There's a friction between them, now, that wasn't there before.
There's a lot of things that caused friction between them. A lot of things that combined to create a space between them that wasn't there before.

the way niles devoted so so much time and effort to caring for that sack of flour and carried it against his chest with one of those baby carrying things and called it "he" and was horrified when eddie shredded it and then was delighted to hold a real baby at the end and didn't cringe or complain when the baby started crying and just cooed at him and was almost in awe. Absolutely LOVE the idea of an ib role swap au where ib is swapped with garry and mary is swapped with guertena, SPECIFICALLY the latter because I love the idea of painter mary being like a child prodigy who died very young and her painting of weiss being her trying to invent a father figure for herself because her father was either dead or very distant due to the disease which made her wither away and eventually die
Like OBVIOUSLY mary couldn't have made as many paintings as weiss did because she was so young but maybe most of the artwork on display could have been recreations of sketches of blueprints she made for statues

Here are some 100% real 2000s reality shows:

Black. White. A white family learns about racism by living a month in blackface, while a black family spends a month in whiteface. The black family was a real family, but the white family was just some actors hired to put on blackface to prove racism exists
Without Prejudice? Five strangers decide which of five strangers gets a cash prize based off clips and their answers to political questions. Cancelled when one of the choosers openly said he'd eliminate all black contestants
Welcome to the Neighborhood. Three conservative white families in a Austin subdivision decide which diverse family gets to move in. Unaired due to being literal housing discrimination
Seriously, Dude, I'm Gay. Two straight men try to pass themselves off as gay and whoever seems more gay gets $50,000. Unaired due to. Due to. Due to

Because it was the 2000s, somehow this ended up with the woman he won being widely vilified and turned into a national punchline. How dare she complain about a massive corporation tricking her into marrying a lying abuser, good thing Matt Lauer's there to take her down a peg
The Swan. A "ugly" woman is given plastic surgery and wins a prize if she's the hottest at the end of the season. If she's not hot enough by the show's standards she's eliminated and called ugly on national TV
The Biggest Loser. Overweight people engage in competitive crash weight loss that often led to awful health complications. Studies showed basically everyone on the show regained any weight they lost once it was over and they didn't have abusive trainers demanding they take huge health risks to win a competitive weight loss competition. Like the others, this one was cancel-oh, it was a massive hit that ran for 18 seasons? Yikes!
Wife Swap and Trading Spouses. These were the same show and had a wife from one family go to another family that was different politically, racially, culturally, religiously etc. Most famous for the God Warrior
At the time people focused on the likes of Fear Factor but looking back it's wild how many of the worst shows toyed with politics. So many of these shows have a premise that's like "what if we exposed these conservatives to these people they hate?" or hyping themselves up as Important Experiments. Then they'd freak out when they got the kind of viral bigoted freakout they were trying to construct the whole time.
There were also a bunch of horrible reality shows, thankfully this time mostly unpopular, in the 2010s that based themselves around economic themes as a response to the market crash, but that's a story for another time
