don’t you see???? mikey dragged gerard to a smashing pumpkins concert 26 years ago and it was the moment that gerard turned to him and said “this is what we’ve got to do” and he replied “i know. this is exactly what we’ve got to do.” don’t you see, it was mikey way 9 years old bouncing on the couch with gerard’s guitar pretending to be a rockstar. and they are playing tonight and mikey way is 42 years old and he has a wife who loves him so much and two daughters and their coloring book pages are plastered up on stage, and he is mikey way, and he will be holding his bass and he will be on stage with gerard and ray and frank and he will be doing the thing he said he would be doing 26 years ago and the thing he would hop on the couch pretending to do when he was a child. don’t you get it, don’t you see???

how do you think the story would change if the rot didn't happen and pebbles removed his self-destruction taboo?
Ok here my opinion might differ from a lot of people, but I think everyone takes for granted what Pebbles said. He might think that ridding of his tabboo and dying is the solution. But that doesn’t mean he’s right.
And I don’t think he is!! In my opinion the answer isn’t just dying. Creatures die all the time. SOS didn’t touch her tabboos.
If Pebbles succeeded. He would have just died and woken up in another cycle. And that’s that.
Does that mean what he did to Moon and to himself was all in vain? Yeah.
Does he ever learn that? Also yes imo!
In the void iirc he comments how the solution was beyond comprehension to them. They had no fair chance of understanding it. Which implies he might have not been on the right path.
So the story would change depending if Moon survived that. If not.. not much would change really. Except his death might spark interest in more iterators to do the same. And it’d.. cause a lot of accidents.
If Moon survives that’s a whole other can of worms that is just??? A lOT. I think mourning his death wouldn’t even let her be upset properly at the danger he put her through and that’s something…

i need to see the ghost quartet, is the youtube recording okay or where can i watch it?
edith, you have no idea how happy i am right now. MUST WRITE AN ESSAY-
ok, so there is like an official record of the show on dave malloy's youtube channel (he is an angel for doing this), but i would suggest to listen to it first, because the video is without subtitles and when i started watching, it was kinda hard for me to understand anything and the story is really complicated.
and there are also two cast albums: one is the official studio album and one is a live recording of the show and i would suggest to listen to the live album, because it has some songs/scenes that you can't find on studio album and they are really important to the story. you can find both on spotify, the lyrics are also available. you can also find all the lyrics on genius, there are a lot of dave's annotations, they really helped me understand some of the parts i didn't get.
basically what i did: i just listened to the live album with lyrics, once, twice, after third time i finally decided to watch the show on youtube. you might not get it after first listen, honestly, every single time i listen to it again i find something new. but as you start connecting the dots between the stories, the real fun begins (and i know you will cause you did amazing with my escape room!). it's insane, it will destroy your brain. i remember after listening to it for the first time i texted bel: "i just listened to ghost quartet and i want to throw up cause my brain exploded". it's good. it's amazing. but it's weird, keep that in mind.
let me know after. or better: come back with one pot of honey, one piece of stardust, one secret baptism and the photo of a ghost.

I'm going to go ahead and say that I genuinely think - on a personal level but also just from a narrative standpoint - that that might have been the worst possible ending they could have come up with for this character.
It was established throughout the series (and in particularly clear terms in the previous episode) that Loki's worst fear - the worst fate that could befall him - is being alone. It's also abundantly clear to anyone who has analyzed this character for so much as five minutes that Loki does not and never has actually wanted a throne - and that this isn't a change that came about during the series, either. Even when he did "want" it, it was just as a substitute for the love he couldn't access. And, bonus, the "glorious purpose" thing has never held any actual significance - it was a throwaway line fed to him by Thanos that has never been true to Loki himself. His underlying goal has always been this: love, acceptance, and a sense of belonging within a community.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The ending gave Loki these three things which he did not want - one of which was his literal worst fucking fear - and withheld the one thing he has always wanted. Based on the narrative and character traits they established, this is the most tragic ending they could possibly have given this character. But this isn't supposed to be a tragedy. It's framed as if it's bittersweet. A necessary sacrifice. Sad, but inspiring.
I can't see it as any of those things, though. It's just . . . bleak.
Being completely isolated in a solitary confinement situation forever - never able to experience actual connection, only able to watch from afar - is arguably a fate worse than death. And based on the facts established about Loki in particular, this is definitely the case for this character. It's great that he got his hero moment - I'm not denying that it was a beautiful scene - but this all leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth I can't really focus on the positives.
This is a character who has experienced tragic ending after tragic ending. I've spent over ten years of my life watching him be knocked down over and over and over again, and I am just not capable of seeing a tragic ending for him as satisfying in any way. This isn't the first time Loki has sacrificed himself for his loved ones. I already watched it happen in Infinity War, and I had no desire to watch it happen again.
All I can really say in conclusion is thank fucking god I'm not hyperfixating on this show like I was during season one. Hell, I've been watching this season almost casually and I'm still this fucking pissed off. I can't imagine how I would feel if I was still as engaged as I used to be.

The fact Buttons almost died, but the sea saved his life from purgatory/death, which is partially why he is so devoted to her, is NOT the wild head canon (from a fic I wrote), that I thought would go canon...
But I love it, no notes.

Ding dong! The doorbell goes and behind the door tou'll find a package with VERY fancy wine(very cheekily bought), assortment of gingerbreadmen in shape of chuuya plus one eiden, red patterned scarf and christmas sweater with different coloured wines in glasses on it all selfmade and finally a coupon to SP*T" merry christmas ;) - Eiden Itadori"
Tumblr media
"..."
this seems like a prank. obviously he knows it's christmas time. obviously not even he's sad enough of a person to never have received presents. every so often he'd exchange with some of the other executives, sometimes with the boss too. and every stupid year he'd been dumb enough to go out and find some little stupid thing for that stupid asshole, thinking that since it was christmas it seemed reasonable enough.
and every stupid year he'd receive something so stupid he'd want to take back every nice thought and gesture he might have indulged in, and a lot of the time it showed itself in home made items with nasty surprises.
but eiden is not the same as that fucker. not in a million year could the two be likened. yet chuuya's suspicion immediately arises. these items appear incredibly thoughtful and surprisingly well excecuted. does the sweater have a loose thread that will somehow come undone and leave him fumbling with it at inconvenient hours? is the scarf a symbolic association to a rope with which he can be strangled? do the cookies contain poison? or are their shapes intended to be used in some shady ritual? what the fuck actually goes on in SP*T?

First drawing of 2023 and why the feels?? I used the classic Jeanette song (El Muchacho de los Ojos Tristes/The Young Man with the Sad Eyes) and of course, Navarro, since I love him and he's the only main character we see cry (if you watched PI, you'd know why). Poor bb needs a hug. ;___;

First mate, shaking the captain by the shoulders: listen. to. me. You are in grave danger and we need to run. Now! *jumps into the sea*
The captain, internally: and I looked this man in the eye and thought to myself "This man is insane"
Me: what's insane is you still staying on that cursed ship. Ffs man even Jonathan noticed by now!
