∘◦ ♡ ༉━━━ A Promise is a Promise to many who thought it would be wise to mess with the Serpents. But many didn't think it would be possible to be part of them either they have started this ever since they were very young after seeing the their real world being corrupted.
Clearly its isn't done yet for them. As a certain liar just joined their terrority she thinks she rules the school but clearly she isn't. They are far ahead of this liar and the tabloid for a good reason too. Not even the model boy has the guts to go over there.
So to say someone who is a fashion designer and a mayor's daughter thought its time show they are known the Serpents and these people had messed with the wrong group by calling their members from outside of school to come back to finish what they always wanted to finish from the start.

Marinette, Chloe, Mark and Nath are the HBIC group of the school.
They had been hiding undercover for 2 years after staging an fight between Chloe.
Chloe became the mean girl. She collected Info from the richer kids.
Marinette became the goody two shoes. People considered her the innocent little sheep, thus leaving her open and venerable to liars who act fake in front of others.
Nath became the quiet kid who draws all day. People revealed their secrets to him as they assumed that he had no one he could tell it to.
Marc became the shy kid who writes all day. He was prone to attracting bullies.
When Lila came along, she became a huge issue which caused them to come back.
Nino, Adrien are their main supporters

“We can’t be friends if you’re acting like this.” Marinette paused as put her stuff away and looked up at Alya. Behind her was most of the class, though Chloé, Sabrina, Nathanael, and Adrien were notably absent from the crowd—though Adrien did having fencing practice and Nathanael left as soon as he could to work on the comic with Marc. “I mean, bullying Lila, I just can’t—” at that point Marinette decided to check out, she had heard this conversation point many a time. “I’ve given you so many chances and I just—” Marinette sighed softly and took a deep breath before looking at the others. “Are you even listening to me?!” Alya asked exasperated. And while no, she wasn’t, what caught her eye was Lila holding a very familiar sketchbook. Hers, that had gone missing a few days prior.
“It’s not worth it Alya. Clearly talking to her isn’t getting through,” Lila said, holding the sketchbook out. She wouldn’t. But apparently she would as Lila opened it and tore the pages apart. “Actions seem to be more appropriate.” More hands shot out to tear at the pages or maybe stop them, in that moment she didn’t care who was friend or foe. After what felt like an eternity later, Marinette picked the torn apart sketchbook apart and placed into her backpack. Thankfully it wasn’t the one she had her commissions in. What did they think this would accomplish? She took a deep breath and looked up at the class, zipping her bag shut.
“Alright then,” she watched as her former friends faces filled with hope, “I guess we’re not friends.” The class had varying levels of shock as she slipped out of the class. On the way out, she caught Chloé’s eye and watched the blonde’s face break into a grin.
As soon as Marinette left the classroom, leaving Alya sputtering, Chloé Bourgeois could stop herself from laughing. She really did need to see Adrikins and catch him up on what was coming but should couldn’t help but revel in her class’s stupidity. “What are you laughing at Chloé?” Alix hissed. The rest of the class looked at her.
“Just enjoying the show. You made an enemy of the scariest girl I’ve ever known.”
“Marinette? I fail to see how—” the blonde cut Alya off.
“Let me catch you up to speed since you’re technically still new. Marinette is the queen of beasts, she can smell you fear. I may be a bitch but Marinette’s the apex predator,” she smirked, “or did some of you forget?” With that, Chloé slipped out of her seat, bags and Sabrina in tow. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to inform Adrikins of what’s happening. I can’t leave him to the wolves after all.” Once again, Alya was left sputtering for something to say. She understood their confusion. She too underestimated how much power Marinette Dupain-Cheng had until experiencing. Perhaps she should talk to Marinette after all. Make sure she wouldn’t be part of what’s coming.
If it wasn’t for the familiarly expensive smell of Chloé’s perfume, Adrien would’ve been uncomfortable. “Adrikins!”
“Hey Chlo. Any reason you’ve decided to ambush me at practice?”
“I just need to catch you up on some important class changes because trust me you’ll want to know.”
“What happened?”
“Lie-la and her cronies tore Marientte’s sketchbook apart after giving her some bullshit speech about befriending Lila. I wasn’t really listening and I doubt she was either.”
“They... what?”
“Tore her sketchbook apart.”
“Are you serious?” Adrien didn’t know much about the fashion aspect of his father’s work but he did know you never touched a designer’s sketchbook.
“Yep,” she replied, popping the ‘p.’ “So i thought it best inform you of the monster they just unleashed.”
Of course Adrien found it weird to think of Marinette as anything but nice but the first account evidence from Chloé and Sabrina was enough to sway him. Especially since Sabrina wasn’t friends with Chloé yet. He dropped his fencing bag into the backseat of the limo. “Hey I promised Chloé to help her with some school stuff. I already informed Nathalie so you can head back.” The gorilla gave a short nod and drove off. Chloé leaned against him.
“Didn’t think you were the type to lie,” she mused.
“I try not to. Now I need to get a new sketchbook for Marinette and since you already planned on stopping by I’m sure you can accompany me.”
“Ugh fine Adrikins,” she retorted, “but only because you’d be hopeless without moi guiding you.” Adrien scoffed and elbowed her. She retaliated with a hip check. “Now let’s go save ourselves from Dupain-Cheng’s wrath!”

the courtyard where Lila was grabbing the akuma but what she doesn't know that Chloe was there exiting a classroom while having a chat with Sabrina there she spotted Lila grabbing the akuma so she had her phone to take a photo or record it before hiding behind the lockers by not getting caught by the akuma. She send this to authority most likely Officer Roger, her daddy, and the Embassy Headquarters where they can inform this to Lila's mother.
the bathroom, Sabrina thought it would be best to eat sushi but she wasn't feeling good so she went to the bathroom to go potty. She went into one of the stalls and she saw a glimpse of Marinette there. She wanted to comfort her but Lila walked in. This was the day Lila threaten Marinette but what Lila doesn't know was she was being recorded. Marinette notice Sabrina at the stall and Chloe was just entering the girls bathroom from the back. She was not surprised after all they were part of an HBIC group that was hidden in the shadows known to be Blackjack.
the lower deck courtyard... there was Alix, Kim, Nino, Juleka, and Rose were talking about Lila and then Marinette. But what really confused Rose was Lila doing charity for Prince Ali from what she remembers that Prince Ali only does charity for children but never the enviroments.
now for lawsuit for slander goes to Ladyblog. Many celebrities who was mention in the video are now preparing to give lawsuits to two people which is Alya Cesaire and Lila Rossi thanks to mostly Rose, Chloe, and Marinette since both of them have connection to Prince Ali, Jagged Stone, and Clara Nightingale. While Sabrina finds out about Lila's past victims as she has done this before which explains how good she did towards Marinette.

Demon Tyrant of France (2)
Lila had a great week. The class was wrapped around her finger and that baker's girl can't do anything about it as Adrien seemed to be keeping her in line with that promise. Poor girl was desperate to do anything for her crush. Today, she will spin some tales of how Marinette was really mean to her offer of friendship and maybe get her so call 'friends' to punish her bad behaviour by destroying the girl's phone for her awful texts. As she skipped to the school, she didn't notice the tense air the other students seemed to have. She saw Alya, her ticket to increasing her fame, arguing with her boyfriend, Nino. He could be useful when she needs music for a party.
"I don't care if this Demon Tyrant person is powerful. We don't need another Chloe Bourgeois in our class. I am not going to stand for her tormenting us."
"Babe, listen, the Demon Tyrant will mostly ignore us because according to her, we are just mere insects. As long as we don't provoke her or anger her, we will be fine. The only thing I am worried about is whether or not you would get into trouble, you did some bad things to her recently and I really hope she is feeling generous."
"I couldn't have done things to someone I have never heard of until today."
"Oh, she had been in our class for the past 2 years. Apparently, she and a friend of hers had a bet on who can be kind for the longest. The bet was over last night. Chloe sent us about it last night."
"I never read what Miss Bully says."
"Excuse me," Lila cuts in, "What are you talking about? Who is the Demon Tyrant? She sounds bad."
"I will tell you on the way. Classes are about to start. But whatever you do, under any circumstances, do not, I mean, absolutely DO NOT talk to her unless she permits it."
The more Lila hears about the Demon Tyrant, the more she begins to envy the power she has over the school. Lila wondered which of her classmates was the Demon Tyrant. Could be Chloe but she can't be it, she had not been nice to their classmates at all. The one with the Roller Skates? She seemed to fit the Demon Tyrant name with the pink hair and roller skates but sometimes she didn't act nice. The Pink Blondie? She acts so nice and sickeningly sweet that she wouldn't be surprised if it was a facade.
She walked into the classroom, as confidently as she can to impress the so-called Demon Tyrant. Whoever she is, might want connections to spread her sphere of influence and they can rule together.
Lila and Alya saw Marinette with a complete makeover wearing a golden 'crown' that looked legit, looking down on the class like they were peasants from her high seat in the back. Their mouths hung open as Kim and a few others came, bearing offerings which they presented to her.
Lila gritted her teeth. Of course, that goody-two-shoes were the Demon Tyrant who ruled the school. At least now it will be easier to take all her friends away. She plastered a concerned face.
"Marinette, what are you doing? Demanding things from your friends? Friends shouldn’t expect things from their friends like that, especially something as expensive as that crown.”
“First of all, Rossi, don’t call me by my name, I only allow certain people to call me that and you are not on that small list. Second of all, I didn’t ask for anything from them. They are called gifts. It was rather hypothetical of you to tell me not to expect free stuff from ‘friends’ when just last week, you basically demanded free pastries from the bakery. And lastly, this diadem ”-she gestured towards it-“is actually mine. I paid for it full price with my hard-earned money. I have a receipt if you don’t believe me. Since you are still new, I shall let it pass this time. But you will not speak to me unless necessary or with my permission.” Marinette said with a cold, icy voice.
“I can’t believe you are so mean to me. I just want to be friends and I am so worried about you when you are dressed like that.” Lila faked a few tears to sell the act. It’s perfect. She didn’t have to try so hard now that Marinette is doing a nice job by herself.
“I believe I have told you not to speak to me. Another word to me and I will make you deeply regret it.”
Alya spoke up, not liking Marinette’s new attitude, “Girl, Lila was just looking out for you. Don’t brush off her concerns and stop being so mean. I will admit I am worried about this new look too.”
“Cesaire, I will give you the same warning as Rossi there. You aren’t allowed to speak to me unless I say otherwise. Why should I change based on some people’s opinion of me? I am not mean, I am indifferent and cold to people. Haven’t you heard I am the Demon Tyrant? It’s part of the package. Life isn’t a fairytale and they all live happily ever after. Lila should be used to hearing cold, hurtful truths. After all, the famous deal with them all the time.” Marinette said with a bored expression on her face, already deeming this a waste of her breath.
Lila burst into tears and Alya was the only one to comfort her as the others were frozen in their seats and made no moves. Terrified for the backlash of helping the 2 girls. Even Nino, who loved Alya very much but prayed to every deity he knew to grant his headstrong, stubborn, justice-seeking girlfriend some common sense. She was playing with fire now and she was going to get burned badly.
Lila sobbed loudly, ”But I am not lying.”
“Marinette! Stop this at once. You can drop the act now. I don't know what you are trying to prove. Being a better Chloe? And we are best friends, we don’t need permission to speak to each other. Lila doesn’t lie. How could you say those things? Just because you are jealous, doesn’t mean you should do it. She is very sensitive.”
The Demon Tyrant grinned. It instinctively made everyone move away from her and Alya, who took a step back.
“Oh. Alya. Alya. Alya.” The first name means that the reporter had poked the Demon too much and now, she was annoyed. The Tyrant walked down, towards the two girls.
“You poor naive girl. With your strong sense of Justice and morals. I thought that we could have actually been friends. But you chose the wrong side when the time came. You should have listened to your boyfriend’s warnings when you had a chance. Let’s hope this one will get through to you. When I started this year of college, I had put up the perfect act of a sweet, kind and selfless girl all for a bet. You saw Chloe bullying that girl whom you protected and befriended. I remember many of our classmates pulled you aside to warn you of my true nature to spare you the heartache when the time came. I also told you one myself. That girl back then was not me at all and I tried to ease you into understanding that. But you were too excitable. You immediately put yourself into the category of ‘my best friend’ even though that title already belongs to my dear thief. You saw the various pictures of Gabriel’s design with Adrien as the model on my wall and decided that I have to get together with him when my heart had already been stolen by another. (Chloe fist-bumped the air. It was confirmed that her ship had sailed.) When Lila Rossi came with her grand stories, you chose to believe her over me. I will usually not admit something like this because I am too proud but it hurt when you went to her instead of me. The point is that you never stopped and listened, just going on ahead. Because if you did, you would have known that I was never your best friend. That I was never jealous of Lila over Adrien because I don’t even like him. That Marinette Dupain-Cheng isn’t even my real name and she doesn’t exist. And the lying. I haven’t accused her of anything like that. I am just calling her out for assuming the worst of me.”
The Demon Tyrant’s voice was like snow. Soft and melted easily. And so very very Cold. So much of it will knock one’s breath out. The room felt colder after the speech.
Alya stood as still as an ice statue, face-to-face with the Demon Tyrant. Her eyes averted as the blue eyes were so piercing like it could tear her soul to pieces. Lila had stopped her fake crying, thinking about who exactly had she declared an enemy of. She didn’t know if she wanted an answer or not.
“Cesaire, Rossi, I have many connections before I was Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I have even more now. With a word from me and your careers will be destroyed before they even take off. If you have common sense, you will stay out of my way.”
“Is that a threat?” Lila asked.
The Tyrant lets out a laugh and meets their eyes, “No. It’s a promise.” She turned around and walked back to her seat like a regal Empress after giving out an execution order.

So I want to write a fic on it
Here’s my two ideas(they will both become fics eventually)
Brief Summaries
Story 1:
Chloe gets Marinette a show at New York Fashion Week through Style Queen. They meet Lila there as the newest up and coming teenage model in America. Audrey suggests they work together to launch the MDC brand (with style queen sponsorship) they all become really close friends and then Chloe and Marinette move to New York so Chloe can be closer with her Mother and Marinette’s Brand can develop. Lila, Chloe and Marinette attend the same school and their life is good.
Story 2:
Chloe and Lila meet at a government Christmas gala (since their parents are both politicians) Marinette’s parents are supplying food for the event and the three girls meet on the rooftop of the Le Grande Paris Hotel and instantly bond spending the entire holidays together before starting school. Lila is constantly moving around but they have a commitment to spend every holidays with each other. Eventually Lila is able to stay with Marinette’s family and join them in their first year at a new school. They heard that the students were spoiled and self entitled so they plotted to ruin them. (Cue show story) It ended with the students being caught in their lies and proving that they were cheating.
Both ideas need a bit of work but they’re the rough summaries and I have started writing them

Salt trope I hate (it's not a very prevalent one, but I've seen it enough that I'm counting it):
Marinette used to be the Alpha Bitch of the school in a Mean Girls/Heathers style trio with Chloe and a third who's identity depends on who the authors favorite classmate is. I think Nathaniel is the most common one I've seen for some reason.
She stepped down for whatever reason, and became the sweet, friendly Marinette everyone knows. Chameleon happens, Lila gets the class to turn against Marinette (with the exception of Chloe, the trios Karen Smith/Heather McNamara, and the occasional other favored classmates), and then Marinette takes back her role as HBIC and rules the school with an iron fist, exposing Lila and absolutely destroying her and all of the traitors.
Bc all of that makes sense!

It's just. So tiring. And just.
What kind of Alpha Bitch would give up their power? Why would everyone just magically forgive and forget up until Mari brings it all back? How is Marinette using her connections to fuck up anyone who dares cross her any better than Lila doing it?

I absolutely fell in love with @unmaskedagain‘s HBIC Marinette AU, and I thought maybe I should try to write something. Enjoy!

As soon as the words “We’re not friends anymore,“ were uttered, the entire courtyard went silent.
Marinette raised an eyebrow. “What?“
Chloé winced. She could tell Marinette was giving the reporter every chance to take back what she had said, but alas, the death wish had been cast. “I said we’re not friends anymore, Marinette!”
Marinette made a tutting noise and looked back at her lunch. “You’re sure you want this?”
“Why wouldn’t I? You actually hurt someone, Marinette! You hurt my friend.“ Alya spat, her voice getting softer and softer towards the end.
“Then I’m sorry, guys,“ Marinette said, her voice emotionless. “but you deserve what comes your way.“ And with that, she stood up and walked away, leaving the dumbfounded group to scramble for the meaning in her last few words.
“What does she mean what comes our way?“ Alix asked to nobody in particular.
“How am I supposed to know? I wasn’t even there!“
Chloé, still watching from afar, shook her head sadly. Under all the pink polka dots and flowers, there was a stone-cold killer.

When Marinette just stood up and walked away, Alya was immediately confused. This wasn’t part of the plan!
They had expected Marinette to do something along the lines of beg for their forgiveness, or shower them in gifts to regain their favor! Not–whatever that was!
But as soon as they were about to go after her, the bell rang, so they walked back to class, muttering among themselves. But whenever Alya looked at the faces of the other students, all she saw was pity and loathing, with the occasional furtive glances.
And for the life of her, she couldn’t figure out why!
When they got back to the classroom, they decided to ask the one person who seemed to know–well–anything about their situation. And whyle they weren’t exactly happy with who it was, they had to talk to Chloé.
“You can’t be serious,“ Chloé said. “You’re that dense?“
“Hey, if all you’re going to do is mock us, we’ll leave.“ Alya threatened.
Chloé rolled her eyes. “Fine. The reason everyone hates you now is because you have literal targets on your back. Happy?”
“What?“ Max spluttered. “That makes no sense! Logically, we haven’t d–“
“Can it, robo-nerd. You know how in cheerleader movies, there re always the queens of the school?“
There was a murmuring of aggreement.
“Yeah, well, it’s not just in the movies, hon. Marinette’s been the head bitch in charge since sixth grade, and I guess she took pity on you and decided to be nice. She did a great job, too,“ Chloé added as an afterthought.
“But Marinette’s just…Marinette! She’s not like that!” Alya protested.
“You wanna know why I don’t like Dupain-Cheng? Because I’ve had to compete with her for the top spot for four years. And she’s won every single time.“ She turned on the group with a vicious smirk on her face. “But you…you’ve got it in for yourselves.“
Chloé flipped her hair and walked out, as it was evident no teacher would be showing up.
Alya and the rest were confused. On one hand…Marinette. On the other hand, Marinette. What were they to do?
Apologize? Nah.

Marinette walked into the empty classroom with a cold expression on her face.
“Dupain-Cheng,“ she heard distinctly, from somewhere inside the dusty area. She flipped on the lights.
“Quit it, Chlo. You don’t have to pretend to hate me anymore.“ Chloé heaved a sign and flopped onto one of the tables.
“Good. It was exhausting pretending I was such a tyrant! Have any food to help me regain my energy?“
Marinette rolled her eyes and tossed a plastic baggie of macarons in Chloé’s direction. They hit her face and she gasped dramatically. “How could this have happened to someone as majestic as I?”
“So can I have the cookies back?“
“Not a chance.“ Chloé stuck out her tongue and started munching on the treats, shrugging when Marinette glared at her playfully. “What? You gave them to me.“
Marinette sighed and laid out a map of the school.
“Here’s the plan. First, we wait for them to think what you said was just a joke.“ She moved a group of variously colored pom-poms across the map, onto where Bustier’s class was.
“And since we transferred to a different class, they’ll have a false sense of security,“ Chloé finished, catching on. “And once they think they’re in the clear, we pick them off one by one.“
“Exactly!“ Marinette beamed. “Since we’re saving Lie-la for last, let’s start with the second-worst offender.“
“Adrien.“ they said simultaneously.
Marinette pulled a white pom-pom out of the group and placed it next to a pink one and a yellow one. “I’m thinking something involving Chat.”
“Maybe ‘Ladybug’ makes a public declaration of love for Marinette Dupain-Cheng?“ Chloé suggested, wiggling her eyebrows.
“No way, Chloé!“
Chloé made a humph noise and rested her head on the desk. “Then I got nothin’.”
“No, I was thinking something along the lines of a ‘hey, Chat, do you have that one person that you’ll hate forever and ever? Mine’s Adrien Agreste’ type of scenario.“
Chloé bolted up. “That just might work!”
Marinette pulled out a fluffy black pom-pom and a glittery gold one. “And you’re going to be there to witness it.”

Marinette's family is definitely rich
The building they own is five stories tall
The bakery is on the first floor
Her parent’s room and a bathroom is on the second floor
The third floor is the living room and a dining room
Marinette’s room is the entire fourth floor
Lastly, the balcony is on the fifth floor
Their house/building is also next to the Eiffel Tower, which is a super popular tourist destination. Not to mention that France is an expensive place to live in and their building is around a very nice place. The bakery is very popular as well. In the Christmas special, we can see that the bakery gets a ton of customers which includes the mayor and a famous news reporter. Jagged Stone also filmed a special in that episode which gave them even more publicity.
Marinette has a complete set of gadgets (computer, phone, tablet/iPad, etc.) and thousands of dollars worth of sewing supplies, which is not cheap at all.
They also have a lot of famous connections. Marinette’s mom is best friends with a famous news reporter and trust Marinette enough to babysit her only child. A famous rock star chose Marinette to design his album cover when his career was in trouble because of XY. Not to mention that cover that Marinette designed got the number one spot. Jagged Stone even chose their bakery to film his special episode on. Marinette has tons of connections on her own as well but that’s for another discussion. Lastly, Marinette’s uncle is a world-famous chef, so they probably have even more connections that we don’t even know about.
Another thing is that Marinette’s grandmother travels the world full time. Traveling is expensive so that’s another point for them being rich. Marinette’s grandmother also doesn’t seem like the type of person to accept money from her sons. So where would the money come from?
One last thing is the school that Marinette attends. That school is full of children with rich and influential parents. Juleka’s mom used to be a famous rock star who played alongside Jagged Stone. Alya is the daughter of a well-known chef and her sister is a famous wrestler. Alix’s dad is a famous historian. Mylene’s dad is an actor. Lastly, Chloe is the daughter of the mayor and a famous fashion designer/critique and they own a famous hotel branch as well. We also know that Chloe’s family would not send their only daughter to a public school or some random private school. Nope, they would only send Chloe to the best school in Paris. Plus, Chloe would throw a big tantrum if she wasn’t sent to a very expensive private school. It also makes sense since Adrien attends that school. Gabriel Agreste would not let Adrien attend some random public school. Especially since he wants Adrien to maintain the perfect Agreste image.
So yeah, I’m convinced that the Dupain-Cheng’s are rich. Who knows, they might even have more money than Chloe and Adrien but, they’re just more humble about it. Who knows? This would also prove my theory of Marinette being famous or/and an influencer to be true.
