casual dismissing of romance and redemption as a true or even valid lens through which to analyze the star wars sequel trilogy infuriates me both because any lens that outright ignores romance and redemption in this particular story is actually wrong and because the subtext of that dismissal- “shipping is dumb” and “redemption is a fantasy”- is fake deep, inhuman, and in my opinion deeply, violently sexist.
