took the bus up to the library to get a new sticker for my map and the librarian also helped replace my library card :))

then i walked up some more to a hill that is a park and walked around it twice looking for mushrooms - found a handful on the slopes (very muddy and slippery)

then i walked down to another park and a little farm and next to the farm and a stand of pine trees i hit PAYDIRT

#the THINGS i put my old tennis shoes through today #now my friend is going to regret she went to disney world in florida with her roommate instead of mushroom hunting with me!!#(i have nothing against the roommate in fact i hold the roommate in great admiration she is a practical woman with tremendous fortitude)#a farm volunteer told me those yellow ones are colloquially called lemon drops! they are properly known as yellow fieldcaps :))#the red ones are some kind of gymnopilus and the white ones are conecaps i think and oh! i saw some puffballs and blewits (with some very #pretty lavender gills) and a giant cluster of honey mushrooms (? they were quite decayed)#shroomin along
