Sometimes I think about all the political power jay has and cant stop thinking about the possibilities
oh absolutely!! my sincere hope is that somewhere down the line, they'll eventually have a gamorra-centric story arc that'll feature other characters from the wildstorm universe, and allow jay to have more character development from that angle. not that i don't enjoy him from jon's perspective, i do love how quirky he is, but i would love to see him operating in a deeply political narrative. think the ratchetry of the psycho pass dystopia crossing over with the cheap thrills of sengoku basara and then dump in what made code geass so much fun. will dc do it? doubtful, but a lady can hope!!

What if instead of forming an army all the demigod defectors just ran away with the circus and used their powers to do crazy stunts. It's what they deserve.

"guys, i ran out of battery on my phone." reported seungkwan from his seat.
"i told you to charge it before you left." reproached yunjin.
"i got distracted by leveling up in candy crush and forgot." defended the boy.
"how many students are there?" questioned minhyuk with an irritated tone. "i'm hungry."
"me too, i didn't have breakfast." shared juyeon.
"why didn't you have breakfast?" asked ningning.
"i didn't have time." explained the older keeping her eyes on the stage where students continued to pass by to receive their graduation diplomas. "minhyuk was supposed to go wake me up, but the bastard showed up fifteen minutes before we had to leave." she reminisced in frustration.
"at least i remembered to come get you." said the jock.
"no, it's okay, i already know you, i should have predicted it." dismissed.
"excuse me? we're all entitled to one last chance." he lashed out with mock offense.
"you never got anywhere early in your whole life, you're not starting now." replied eunseo.
"i can change..."
"... uchinaga aeri." the voice of an older teacher echoed through the auditorium where the graduation ceremony was taking place, grabbing the attention of the entire group of friends and thus interrupting their conversation.
"up, up!" commanded juyeon.
everyone stood up and began to applaud their friend as she was taking her diploma. haru, minhyuk and juyeon with their phones held high recording the whole process as if they were three proud parents, the last two even shouting some chants of pride and love to the japanese girl, who wanted to die of embarrassment and made countenances at them telling them to shut their mouths. they were genuinely happy for their best friend.
aeri received her certificate, had her picture taken with it and then proceeded to walk off the stage towards her spot again and let the event continue with the next students.
haru was in a good mood that day, of course she was. her best friend was graduating, and in the same class was the girl she loved, who she would finally have in the flesh next to her after agreeing that they were going to be fine. it was a good day.
the golfer followed giselle with her eyes until she was in her chair, and then she tried to locate jimin among her classmates, but it was such a large group that even if she tried to look for them alphabetically, she wasn't being able to find her.
as her eyes wandered around the place in search of her favorite human, she came across someone she hadn't expected to see at all,
nakamura kazuha.
the girl was standing next to an empty seat, presumably hers, at the edge of the small aisle that formed between the student area and the guest's, trying to get a better view of the proceedings.
it had been almost as long since she had last seen kazuha as it had been since she had seen karina before the wedding, so the girl was a particular sighting, to say the least.
kazuha was still living in seoul and playing golf at the rottary club, as usual. the last kwon had heard, she had joined a professional team.
kazuha possibly felt the watchful eye on her, as she turned to look for the reason why she felt observed, finding her ex with a dumbfounded and slightly goofy expression. as they made eye contact, they both gave each other a shy smile and the younger girl raised her hand, waving it and greeting haru.
the sudden feeling of familiarity came over her, and the eldest began to walk past her friends until she could step out of the small place where their seats were and approach the girl.
"hey." greeted her, somewhat hesitantly.
"hey." returned the chestnut with a big smile on her face.
"hey." repeated letting out a nervous giggle, then looking to the side and giving a nod to sakura and eunchae, the japanese girl's mates, who were accompanying her.
"i didn't imagine you'd come over." she shrugged.
"how can i not approach when i haven't seen you in years?" she settled in next to her, both of them with their eyes towards the scenario.
"well, it's not like we were splendidly two years ago." she remarked. "how have you been?" she wondered looking sideways at her.
"bad," kwon went silent, contemplating her answer, eliciting a frown of concern from the girl. "but i'm fine now." she assured her.
"are you sure?" she put her hand on her back to show reassurance. "what happened?"
"don't worry, i'm serious." she nodded her head, reinforcing her words. "i don't know if you know i moved..."
"of course i know, haru." she cut in, her tone carrying a hint of sadness.
"well, it was the moving, the new town," it was obvious she wasn't going to mention the main reason for her pain to her former girlfriend. "i couldn't play golf for a long time." she added, downplaying her words. "you know, it was hard." she concluded. "but i'm fine now, really, how have you been?" she rested her gaze on her, expectant for an answer.
"i've been fine." she assured calmly, removing her touch from haru's body. "i'm on a team, my teammates are good, they are talented. we will prepare to participate in the championship next year." she said defiantly.
"oh, then we'll be rivals." she cocked her head confidently and stretched out her hand for kazuha to shake. "may the best one win."
"you say that because you're the best." she narrowed her eyes, judging her. "and aside from golf..." she folded her arms, thinking. "i don't know, not much has happened." she sighed not knowing what to tell. "i graduated last week." she commented. "you didn't come." chastised kazuha, as an innocent comment.
"sorry." haru lowered her head, an ashamed smile on her lips. "you went to mine even when we had been broken up for months, i should have go since i was in town."
"don't worry, haru, just kidding." she gave her a gentle nudge with her elbow. "you didn't have to come." she understood. "it's enough that you came over to talk to me now." she brought her hand to the back of her neck and squeezed from both sides playfully to comfort her, causing them both to laugh. "you came to see aeri?" she changed topics, returning to the situation they were in.
"yes, obviously, we all came." she took a glance at where her friend was sitting. "and well, jimin too." she admitted, feeling out the younger girl's reaction.
"oh." her mouth hung slightly open and her eyebrows raised as she processed what she had just been told. "so, you two...?" she raised her index finger to point at her, then wagged it around as if trying to finish her sentence with her gestures.
"it's complicated." she sentenced. "we met again recently." she didn't want to give away too much information.
"sure." she took a moment. "i hope you two do well." she encouraged, seemingly sincere.
"thank you, zuha."
"tell her that..." she took a big breath of air, gathering courage to let her pride go. "that i'm so sorry."
both pairs of eyes met for the first time in the entire talk, and haru saw in her a glimmer of the kazuha she once loved. a kazuha who could become tender and sensitive, a kazuha only she seemed to have known.
"i know it's not going to change anything." her hands danced in the air illustrating her attempt to explain herself. "or maybe after all this time it doesn't matter anymore." she closed her eyes for a second, recomposing herself. "but if you can, and want, tell her i'm really sorry." she lifted her eyelids, letting her guard down.
"i will."
haru felt something inside her stir, the memories. seeing kazuha in that place felt surreal to her, but apart from that talking to her brought back a feeling that mixed both the familiar and the unfamiliar. she could never hate her, after all, haru had always been one of the few people who couldn't do that at all. seeing her there, being a bit of who she once was, blinded something in her brain, and her first instinct was to lean in and hug her.
"it's good to see you." she whispered, her chin resting lightly on her shoulder. "and it's good to hear you're sorry." she moved her hand along her back.
"i want to apologize to you too, haru." at that moment, she finally dared to raise her arms and reciprocate the woman's gesture. "sorry for ruining that nice thing we had." her voice sounded a little shaky.
"i don't need you to apologize to me." she shook her head even if the girl wouldn't see it. "i chose long ago to keep only the good parts of your time in my life."
the older girl stood up straight, breaking the hold they had on each other. she arranged her locks behind her ears and connected their gazes, which were flooded with nostalgia and affection. between the two of them, there was no more romance, but there would always remain the deep adoration you have for someone who was once your confidante and security.
"... yu jimin." this time it was a female professor's voice that announced the name, interrupting the moment. again kwon had not heard the introduction.
"oh shit." exclaimed kazuha in surprise. "your girlfriend." she centered her focus on the student body area. "go!" she put her hands on her arm and began to push her back into her seat.
"kazuha, it was good to see you-"
"yeah, yeah, we'll meet again when we compete, now go, jimin is graduating." she didn't let her finish, rushing her.
"wow, you've changed."
"go!" she insisted, ending in both of them letting out a few laughs at the interaction and haru returning to her seat.
the athlete took out her cellphone as she had done with aeri, and pointed it at jimin, who was walking up to the stage. with great joy on her face she took a few photos of her as she received her diploma, then locked the device and put it away so she could applaud her and watch her personally.
when karina stood for her picture with the certificate that she had finished her studies, by coincidence, or a bit because she was looking for it, she found haru in the audience, and couldn't help but stop and admire her as she was happy for her. so in the final image she was not even looking at the camera, but to the side, full of love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the ceremony was over and the group of friends had ventured out in search of the new graduates, parting in each other's close circle.
minhyuk, eunseo and haru were with giselle and her parents, showering the girl with hugs, affection, congratulations, and taking pictures of her. each one posed with her individually for the camera, and then they did it all together, then with the parents. they would have enough documentation of that moment to fill an album so they would have to forget the picture they had taken of her earlier where she was begging her friends to keep quiet.
minhyuk even cried, claiming he couldn't believe that the youngest of the group had already finished her college years. they had met when they were just teenagers, and now they all had degrees and their futures planned.
jimin was first greeted by her family, who warmly congratulated her on her achievement, and then her friends arrived, who, of course, started a magazine-worthy photo session in the middle of the auditorium. seungkwan even lifted up ningning, who was holding a phone with the flashlight on, in order to properly illuminate the picture that winter was taking of yunjin and jimin.
after, they became involved in a hyped conversation, but the girl could not stop diverting her interest to the group surrounding the uchinagas.
she had already been welcomed and showered with compliments for what she had accomplished, she just wanted to run to haru and have her close finally. but over there, they kept crying and hugging each other sentimentally.
it was while her loved ones were talking about the different job offers karina had on the table for her future, that she turned to see what was going on in the other gathering of people and noticed a bored haru, as they were not doing anything in particular, she was distracted scanning what was going on in her surroundings.
she took the opportunity as her own and excitedly ran towards the oldest, who noticed her approaching her euphorically and opened her arms waiting. jimin's body crashed into haru's, with enough intensity that the latter slightly lost her balance and had to take a few steps backward, dragging yu.
"how is my favorite graduate?"
she wrapped her arms around jimin, with one holding her body tightly and one hand wandering through her hair subtly. the younger clinging to her waist as if there was a hurricane around and the girl was the only thing she could hold on to.
"actually, that offended me." giselle's voice was heard from behind.
"you're my favorite too." she detached her hand from the blackhaired's back to point her finger at her friend.
"you can't have two favorites." aeri held her waist and brought all her weight to one leg as she judged with her gaze.
"later you discuss it." karina made a rambunctious gesture indicating for them to be quiet. "hello." she whispered, as she pressed her forehead together with the haru's.
"hello." she replied in the same volume, just for her to hear, showing all her teeth from the joy she felt. "i'm so proud of you, princess."
"thank you, baby." they stared at each other stupidly for a few moments. "i missed you." she added, finally being able to say it to her face.
"i missed you too." she lifted herself up a little, getting to the height to leave a delicate kiss on her nose. "you look good." she exclaimed in amusement taking a few steps back so she could observe her full body, their hands enlaced.
"don't i?" she took one foot off the ground giving a short hop and cocked her head to one side with a cheeky expression. "i'm the most adorable economist." she ran her hair making it fly back, continuing the joke.
haru's smile spread even wider and her eyes, or what could be seen from between those cavities that formed moons as they narrowed, sparkled as they followed karina. the girl could no longer contain the wave of beautiful emotions beating against her chest, and she walked briskly to catch the younger girl again and lift her into the air, spinning around, accompanied by her giggles.
the golfer slowly stopped, but before she set her down, jimin took the chance to use the hold on her neck and the closeness to her ear to murmur to her, in a tone that mixed melancholy and absolute happiness: "being like this with you seems like a dream."
"don't worry." she released the girl once her feet were on the ground. "it's not." she caressed her cheek tenderly. "i'm really here, and i'm happy to be." she reassured, comforting the girl.
jimin stopped to admire her. even with her words, she found it hard to understand that she was real. she felt like it was an angel in front of her. she loved her, in such an overwhelming way that jimin thought it escaped from her heart and took over her whole body, leaving no room for her blood, organs or veins. she loved her with all that she was.
"come!" the younger girl exclaimed abruptly after remembering something, startling the sportswoman with her sudden change of attitude. she took her hand and then started walking quickly.
they approached where jimin's acquaintances were standing, stopping short in front of them. haru felt a little shy since she had never met the girl's parents. off to the side, her friends watched the scene proudly, after all they had accompanied her through in those two years.
"mom, dad, this is my girlfriend." she held out her hand to the girl, who bowed as a greeting of respect to the elders, but looked a little puzzled. seeing her reaction, yu realized the label she had used and felt nervous. "my thing." that wasn't good either. "my haru." she corrected herself. "this is haru."
"so you are haru..." the man said, taking in the person in front of him.
"the golfer!" the lady recalled.
"that's what people know me for." agreed kwon, extending her hand to the couple.
"jimin used to make us watch your matches when she was at home." commented the father, causing the named one to cover her embarrassed face. "you know, i really like golf too..."
to no one's surprise, everyone got along well. haru was incredibly likeable after all, and it filled jimin's soul to see the most important people in her life excitedly engaged in conversation.
a few minutes later, giselle approached them to remind that they were all going to eat at a restaurant later to celebrate. there was a reception for all the graduates, but they preferred to go with their best friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they had been there for at least two hours, but they had only started eating. although everyone had been drinking and chatting since they arrived.
it was amazing how the two groups had found each other and managed to get along, despite the things that had happened between them.
at one end of the table were seungkwan and minhyuk, the latter had his arm around the back of the other's chair, wrapping it around him. they were distracted in a debate about whether fries tasted better with ketchup or cheese, and it was endearing to see how the chef never stopped laughing at anything that came out of his boyfriend's mouth, while the golfer gets fascinated listening to the things he told. they had a nice relationship, they understood each other in humor, and had similar tastes, they were boyfriends and friends at the same time.
the rest of the girls were sitting one on each side, across the table. it wasn't an abysmal distance, but they were still carrying on an almost shouting conversation, laughing uproariously, with eunseo leading the chatter they were engaged in, which was largely gossip. to one side of the oldest redhead, minjeong was quiet and smiling, drinking her beer and stealing loving glances at her now wife.
and in one corner, haru and karina were in their chairs next to each other. the older one's hand rested comfortably on the graduate's leg, who was brushing her fingers along the other's body in search of contact. both were attentively listening to what the others were saying and would let out a giggle when someone made a funny comment. sometimes starting short exchanges of words only between them, but mostly just enjoying the moment.
juyeon was trying to explain something to yunjin, who was looking at the others with bewilderment as she didn't understand what she was hearing. the girl's expression was funny to her friends, even to jimin, who burst out laughing when she saw her and leaned on haru for support. once it passed, she stayed in that position, with her head on the golfer's shoulder, and after a moment, she wrapped the arm that the girl had holding her with her own, clinging completely to her.
"i love you." said the blackhaired, leaving a kiss on haru's cheek.
"i love you." she reciprocated, turning her head so she could look at her face.
"sorry for introducing you as my girlfriend to my parents today." she casually mentioned.
"no worries, i guess i will be at some point anyway." she shrugged with plenty of attitude.
"oh? so that's how you think..." she gave her a playful pinch. "if so, then why aren't you right now?" she bit her lip expectantly, embarrassed that her heart was pounding at the inquisitions of what she had said.
"you haven't asked me yet." haru explained without giving it much thought and then leaned over to pick up her glass and take a swig of her drink.
"do i have to ask you? i was waiting for you to ask me." she pointed a finger at herself.
"no, clearly you have to ask me." she sipped again, looking defiantly at her over the glass.
"would you be my girlfriend?" karina asked hurriedly, so fast the words were barely understood. her eyes painted with anticipation.
"you're asking me here? with minhyuk present?" she exclaimed ironically.
"what did i do now?" questioned the boy across the table.
"you don't care." the girl dismissed him without even turning to look at him, getting him to throw his hands up in the air in disbelief.
"you must have done something." eunseo accused him, triggering one of their silly arguments.
"come with me." jimin got up from her seat and started walking. haru obeyed and went after her.
"where are you going?" the sportsman vociferated.
"you don't care." repeated her best friend.
"kwon haru, i'm not liking your antics!" he complained offended.
the two girls continued on their way, jimin sure of where she was leading and haru, a little lost, behind her. they arrived at an almost completely unoccupied side of the restaurant, from the main hall of the place you couldn't see clearly and there were few tables, at the end of it, a double glass door that the now economist opened to pass through, the one who was following her also passing by it.
behind it, there was a rather small backyard, which was blocked by trees and bushes. beyond the decorative forestation, there was a concrete wall that could not even be seen among so many leaves and trunks. lights hung from the tops and branches, and there was even a small bench on one side. haru presumed that this place was specially designed for smokers, but at that moment it was empty.
"how did you find this place?" kwon inquired, her eyes on the small lamps above her.
"when i went to the bathroom i got the wrong direction and ended up here." she laughed shyly.
"it's pretty." she lowered her eyes, turning back to jimin.
"like you." she returned witty.
"and you." she added roguishly. "and you brought me here to...?" she raised an eyebrow mischievously.
"kwon haru," she put her hands behind her back, feet together and puffed out her chest, pretending to look like a prince about to make an announcement. "would you do me the honor..."
she paused to search her pockets for something, observe her fingers, and then surveyed her surroundings. she dropped her gaze to the ground, turning only with her upper body so that she could analyze behind her back. she leaned over and held a cigarette butt between her fingers, then extended it toward haru.
"is it antiromantic if i ask you to be my girlfriend with a cigarette butt?" she pouted. "i don't have a ring to give you."
"wait." haru was now the one digging through every crevice of her clothes looking for something that would work. she picked up her wallet and checked it. "is it any use proposing to me with a bill?"
"that's even less romantic than the cigarette." she dropped her arms on either side of her body listlessly.
"a picture of my mom?"
"haru."
"my id?" she continued without stopping checking.
"put that down, put that down." she approached her and pushed down the girl's hands holding her billfold.
"i didn't find anything either, sorry." she put the object away and made a regretful grimace.
"would you like to be my girlfriend?" she said again, unexpectedly.
"don't you need a ring, then?" the woman caught her face between her palms, creating an eye contact that exuded sweetness.
"i'll buy you one for our first anniversary." she promised, her voice soft, only dedicated to her. "and on the next one, and the one after that, and when i ask you to marry me." she held haru's waist. "although i'm so sure you're the love of my life that i might ask you to marry me before any anniversary."
"one step at a time, princess, we're here now." stopped the older one, laughing adoringly at such ideas.
"be my girlfriend." she asked again. "i love you, i don't want to not have you by my side, and i swear i will never ever again do anything to take you away from me. my place is with you."
"of course i will be your girlfriend." haru accepted.
upon hearing the answer, karina bounced on her feet on the spot because of the exhilaration that exploded inside her. she fleetingly pulled the girl from the back of her neck so they could join in a kiss to seal the pact.
it was the first kiss they had shared in two years that carried no pain behind it. all it brought was new beginnings and love. it was safety, and light. the promise that from now on, they both had a place to return to and a refuge for when everything got rough.
jimin's lips caressed haru's with affability, taking the exchange calmly, wanting to express all the stunning chaos she unleashed within herself through that gesture. the opposite held her figure gently, holding her as close to herself as possible as if trying to keep her from leaving again.
they broke the union carefully, still remaining over each other, their noses touching, their lips no more than an inch apart, "haru, let's move to busan." she suggested suddenly.
"what?" she frowned in surprise after hearing what the younger girl had just said.
"or come back to seoul." she added without thinking about what she was saying. she didn't have to as it had been on her mind for days.
"what are you talking about?" she let the girl go and walked a bit away.
"or i can move to incheon." she continued.
"wow, stop right there." she pointed her finger at her signaling to calm down. "what?" she reiterated.
"is that," she gulped in a breath of air, her grimace turning desperate. "you don't live here." she burst the bubble. "and i know we've been avoiding the subject voluntarily, but in two days you go back home, and then we'll be apart again." she began biting her nails.
haru was silent. she knew that what karina was telling her was the inevitable reality, and that they would soon have to part ways one more time, but she had chosen not to worry about it and somehow managed to forget.
"haru, i love you." she affirmed again. "and i'm tired of losing you, so if you tell me that in incheon you're happy, i wouldn't hesitate for a second to move there so i could be with you." she was sure of what she was saying. "but tell me the truth, is incheon for you? do you live the life you want there?"
the golfer knew she didn't. she had two friends in that city, one of whom was juyeon. she played on a team with people she didn't care about. she didn't feel full on her drive in the mornings to go to her training, she didn't even go for a walk in the streets like she often used to do in seoul.
what was there in Incheon for her? what was there in incheon that was hers?
she left seoul because it generated sadness in her, but if she had to be honest, thinking about incheon also made her feel miserable.
"busan?" she blurted out hesitantly after a moment in silence.
"weren't we happy when we were in busan?"
yes. the answer was clearly yes. depending on how you wanted to look at it, it was the place where it all started. where they admitted they felt things for each other and gave those emotions a place to be explored. despite being surrounded by people, it had felt like only they had been there. together. their own universe.
"just you and me?" she hesitated.
"well, we can take juyeon if you want, but she won't live with us." she said jokingly. "oh, and a cat." she finished seriously.
"you, me and a cat?" a smile began to tug at the corner of her mouth.
"what do you say?" she inquired hopefully, unable to hide that she was already excited.
"busan." she shook her head up and down, saying yes. "you and me."
karina let out the highest pitched squeal she had ever projected in her life, she ran towards haru almost as if flying, not even noticing how she came to be held to her girlfriend like a koala bear, her legs clinging to her waist, haru holding her tightly, contentment present in every part of their beings.
"and a cat." she stated again.
"yes, my princess, us and a cat." she guaranteed.
"and we will never separate again." jimin pulled away a little so she could look into her eyes.
"never." haru backed up her words, then moved closer and joined in a kiss.

Animage April 2024 Issue ft. Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger Main Cast Member Interviews (translations below)
Tumblr media
Publication: March 8, 2024 (after broadcast end)
The kings have become immortal
The Uchu King Dagded Dujardin is the most powerful and very worst, having destroyed many planets in the universe. After a fierce battle, the Royal Sentai finally defeated and destroyed Dagded, ending his 2,000 year long history.
The victory over Dagded would've never been achieved by the power of the kings alone. There were the retainers, who continued to support the king from behind the scenes and were highly trusted by them. The former living, who watched over from the Kingdom of Death, Hakabaka, offered their lives and thoughts to the current kings. And, the key to the descent of the Super Fury Ultimate Complete King-Ohger, was the people of the six kingdoms, who created an "endless chain of small lives." In other words, this was achieved only because the entirety of life on Chikyu sided with the kings and rebelled against Dagded.
At the end of an endless chain, lives are forever connected…These words spoken by Reiniol are surely not only about Chikyu. We, who have witnessed the story of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger, are also entrusted with the task of weaving an eternal story by connecting our lives together. _
Gira Husty: The evil king. He understands the feelings of the Shugod's and settles the battle against Dagded. He was smiling even as the proposal to unite the six kingdoms fell through.
Yanma Gast: The king of wisdom. Using the power of the King's Proof, he created a plan to counter Dagded. He promises Gira that he'll restore the rest of the scattered Shugod parts.
Hymeno Ran: The queen of splendor. She asked her parents, who emerged from Hakabaka, to treat the injured. While thinking of a name for the new country, she proposes "Great Ishabana."
Rita Kaniska: The immovable king. They're rescued by their former king, Karras, who had been revived from Hakabaka. Although they declared the founding of the new country, they were frustrated because no one could come to an agreement.
Kaguragi Dybowski: The lord of abundance. He received assistance from the former lord, Iroki, who emerged from Hakabaka. When deciding on the name of the new country, he tried to get the middle part.
Jeramie Brasieri: The king of inbetween. He's saved by his mother Nephila, who rushed to him from Hakabaka. As a storyteller, he recorded and left a message for the future people of Chikyu. _
Rushing through daily commotion
-Thoughts on the final three episodes that wrapped up the past year-
Murakami: I felt that it was a performance where everyone's teamwork shined through in their cool and united efforts to face the enemy.
Sakai: When I read the script, I thought that the sense of unity of the citizens joining together to fight against Dagded would be the major highlight.
Watanabe: I thought it was really great to see the development of having the people we've been protecting help us in the end.
Kaku: It was amazing that even all the characters from the movie appeared on TV as well.
Sakai: Nakamura Shido-san also made an appearance through his voice.
Murakami: It was truly extravagant. It makes me want to do another movie (laughs).
Watanabe: It was great to see all the people who have appeared so far at the end, including the guests featured in the movie. Over the past year, everyone was passing the baton, but in the end, we all reached the goal together.
Ikeda: Regarding Jeramie, it was very emotional to start out as the storyteller from the first episode, to then end up passing down the story to future generations.
Kaku: The fact that they tried to create a new country free of national borders, but couldn't come together in the end gave off the charm of the Royal Sentai, huh?
Hirakawa: Right, right. Everyone seems to be looking in different directions, but in reality, they're all looking in the same direction. I felt that the way it ended was really good, giving off that typical Royal Sentai feeling.
Sakai: I was moved by the ending, with the main idea seeming to be based on accepting other countries and races.
-The most surprising development after reading the script?-
Murakami: When Rita……(she notices Ikeda-san raising his hand), please go ahead.
Ikeda: Is it okay if we raise our hands?
All: (laughs).
Ikeda: Then, I'll start. What surprised me would have to be the episode where Racules betrays Dagded (episode 41). The developments from episode 41 were memorable because Racules was portrayed in a charming way.
Murakami: I'm next! I would've never expected the development of Kaguragi using his King's Proof to burn Rita as they seal off Minongan in a blizzard (episode 45).
Kaku: That's for sure. I never imagined Kaguragi and Rita would team up.
Murakami: I also like the fact that activating the King's Proof created a new technique, and the way it was used was abit interesting.
Hirakawa: That position.
Kaku: This (he spreads both of his hands out together with Hirakawa-san)
Hirakawa: (while imitating Kaguragi) "Good night~!"
Ikeda: I wasn't able to watch the filming, so I'm looking forward to watching the broadcast (this was pre broadcast at the time of this interview).
Hirakawa: Kaku-san mistakenly said, "Please go home" (laughs).
Kaku: Yeah. The staff said, "Okay then, we're going home~" and left.
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: That scene was really cool though (laughs).
Murakami: For the dialogue, "Taselles Mirullia Da'pago" was actually supposed to be said in episode 5. They weren't able to include it due to the length of the episode, but it appeared later in episode 30. I was happy to see that many of the things that we couldn't do for various reasons were picked up in the later half.
Watanabe: Anyone else surprised that time skipped forward two years midway through?
Kaku: Yeah! That was really exciting.
Watanabe: As someone who loves shonen manga, it was hot.
Hirakawa: The visuals changed completely.
Sakai: It was also good in terms of motivation for filming.
Watanabe: The change in costumes made it feel fresh.
Kaku: Right, right. It didn't feel boring.
Ikeda: Another surprising thing was idol Rita, no? (episode 38).
Hirakawa: Even now, I'm still really surprised.
Watanabe: I was surprised at the amount of staff during filming.
Sakai: The number of cameras was just incredible.
Watanabe: Seriously. I think they put the most effort into it out of everything in King-Ohger (laughs).
Kaku: The cameras for behind the scenes use were also rolling, right?
Hirakawa: This was the episode where the staff gave their all with blood, sweat and tears (laughs). It was the first time that there were four cameras rolling.
Murakami: It was movie level. It was like "Oshi no Ko."
Ikeda: We even went to watch the filming in order to drag the perfect smile out of them.
Hirakawa: Thank you for coming at that time, really.
Kaku: The body swap (episode 28), Taisei and the others, those three became babies (episode 45), we got to do alot of things that you can't do in a normal drama……It was alot of fun.
Murakami: It was~. Also, getting turned into a pill bug (episode 15).
Sakai: That's right (laughs). Early on, Gira had alot of episodes with disguises.
Murakami: Things like the "playing dead" strategies (episode 11). In terms of surprises, Hymeno gave Kaguragi an anesthetic in episode 8, right? I was surprised by the scene in episode 42, where it was revealed that Racules had been using it.
Kaku: I also thought that I had killed the carp with poison, so I was relieved and thought, "Thank goodness, Kakuragi didn't kill it." I can say this now, but when I asked Director Yamaguchi Kyohei if Kaguragi had poisoned it at that time, he was hesitant to answer.
Murakami: Maybe the Director didn't know about developments either?
Kaku: Maybe. I was told, "Please make a face that can be taken either way."
Hirakawa: When you think about it, it's incredibly difficult to act out Kaguragi.
Sakai: It felt like Kaguragi had the most scenes where his performance had those kind of hidden meanings.
Murakami: And Racules too. Everyone in the 30s group was like that.
Kaku: There were definitely alot of us.
-Describe this team with a single saying?-
Kaku: Charisma Sentai Superstar.
Ikeda: Yes.
Hirakawa: Then it's settled!
All: (laughs).
Sakai: But, surely that's the only way to go. Everyone's got their own charm.
Watanabe: And they're kings.
Sakai: Higuchi Kohei-kun of Donbrothers also once said, "Everyone has their own charm."
Hirakawa: Heh~!
Kaku: That makes me happy.
Murakami: Not just the characters, but all the actors are also unique, and their differences are interesting.
Kaku: That's for sure. We all had different directions, but there were no fights. The six of us came together with a good balance.
Hirakawa: Everyone was so kind.
Sakai: No one ever got too emotionally involved. Even if there was something on my mind, they wouldn't meddle unnecessarily.
Hirakawa: I feel like we didn't interfere with each other too much.
Sakai: I'd say we were a balanced, calm team.
Ikeda: Would you call it calm charisma?
Sakai: Super Charisma Calm Sentai?
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: That's too confusing (laughs).
-A message from the kings to the people-
Murakami: Throughout the episodes over the past year, I think there were various messages and words of support that the Royal Sentai were aiming to convey, and I'd be glad if they resonated with you. It would make me happy if this production acts as a hint towards taking your own path in life, and that all of our fans will be able to live in a beautiful world.
All: (applauding).
Kaku: The words you said just now, I'll take it those are the words everyone else was going to use, huh?
All: (laughs).
Hirakawa: Marie just said what we all wanted to say!
Murakami: Is there anything I didn't say?
Ikeda: Something like, "I was very happy to meet you all" or, "Thank you very much for your support."
Kaku: I don't think children understand the content of the story in depth right now. So, I hope that when they grow up, they'll watch it again and see that the kings they admired back then were such great characters.
Watanabe: I have one last thing to say.
Hirakawa: What?
Watanabe: I know this is goodbye for TV, but when you suddenly remember us, I'd be happy if you could come and visit Chikyu to play.
All: Oooh~!! (applauding).
Hirakawa: That's perfect!
Kaku: And with that, finally, our leader!
Sakai: Right……I'd be happy if you'd continue to love this show even after it's over. Thank you very much!
Ikeda: "…..or so it goes."

AnimateTimes movie interviews [❤💙💛]
Rita x Kaguragi x Jeramie (July 30)
highlights of the movie + guest cast
Change in Taisei
Rita's burden and with Morfonia / ep10, 16
Kaguragi with Racules and Suzume
Your character in summer
individual pics + translation under cut
Adventure Heaven is finally opening on July 28!
Hirakawa: In this movie you will meet a new side of Rita never before seen. Filming the movie is a fresh experience for me from start to finish.
Kaku: We will touch on Kaguragi's past in the movie. It will be very important for him in the future.
Ikeda: The coronation scene we shot with a crowd of extras. It is our biggest and grandest scene yet.
The guest cast including Ms. Sakura Ayane as Debonica is impressive too.
Ikeda: Ms. Sakura has a distinctive method of vocalization. When the two of us talked in private and she said "Royal Arms", I was stunned.
Is Ms. Sakura's "Royal Arms" cool?
Ikeda: It's very powerful, very cool indeed.
Kaku: As a king, you have to be cool.
Hirakawa: I didn’t get to meet all of the guest cast in person, but Mr. Nakamura Shido (Rainoir) has a solemn and powerful presence just from being. He brought on set a positive tension that alerted everybody "the movie is about to start!".
In the movie, Gira finally becomes King of Shugoddom. Has the star behind Gira, Mr. Sakai Taisei changed in any way?
Kaku: He's getting less nervous in public appearances. He'll still say "I'm so nervous!" even now, but he's getting better at relaxing into the role and just enjoy the show.
Hirakawa: The Taisei I saw is the one who's super nervous during filming.
Kaku: In the scene with Rainoir?
Hirakawa: Yes! His lips turned purple (laughs). "It's method acting for the Land of Death!" he said, but I think he's just nervous. Recently, he seems to have accepted his role as the cute mascot.
Ikeda: Since I only joined the cast later as the sixth ranger, I haven’t seen his nervous era. But I see where you're coming from about him turning cute.
Hirakawa: When we used to call him cute, he'd say "There's no such thing!", now he just nods, "Um..."  (laughs)
Everyone: (laughs)
Ikeda: He might be somewhat happy to hear that.
Please tell us more about the main series as well. In Episode 16, Rita's past is revealed.
Hirakawa: I think through Episode 16, the audience can now feel Rita’s burden. Revisiting the past, we reaffirm Rita's resolve and sense of responsibility, as well as pushing forward in the mystery that is Fury of the Gods. This development will impact the TV series going forward.
How do you see the relationship between Rita and Morfonia?
In Episode 10, we saw a change in the relationship between each king and their aide. Rita also got somewhat closer emotionally with Morfonia. I believe the guard around Rita’s strained psyche has lowered a little. They won't have a heart-to-heart conversation just yet, but the distance between them has been shortening since. In real life, we are becoming closer friends as well, that will sure be a positive influence to our interaction in the story.
On the other hand, Kaguragi has a lot of mature bargaining that hide his true intentions with characters like Racules and his younger sister Suzume.
Kaku: It is fun to bargain with Racules. Yano-chan put his predictions of the future in his performance, I too kept that in mind and considered many aspects in my own. Suzume is both cute and a strategist, I find her duality interesting.
What if your character goes on a summer break?
Ikeda: Jeramie would sleep through it, wouldn't he? "What I thought was an afternoon nap, took a whole year. Happens to anybody." He did say that once... When he wakes up, it'd probably be winter. (laughs)
Everyone: (laughs)
Kaku: Kaguragi is a festival man. He'd for sure host a big summer festival in Toufu.
Hirakawa: Rita would just marathon "Together with Moffun", wouldn't they?
Kaku: Absolutely! Rita would rewatch every episode up to now.
Hirakawa: There are 4000 episodes, it'd be a miracle to finish it before the end of summer (laughs).
(laughs) Moffun is not slowing down with his merchandise release either.
Hirakawa: It's amazing, isn't it! Without a word you grew interested in its shape and voice. It's just that Rita's imitation is a little different though...
I think Rita's imitation of Moffun is adorable! At the end, please tell our readers the highlights of the movie.
Hirakawa: Surely it's being able to see a new side of Rita different from the one we know so far. Even the details in the background carries meaning, I would love for you to see it on the big screen, and two or three times if you can!
Kaku: The movie is presenting a whole new world, with imagery much grander than the ones in the TV series. The characters will face their pasts, and the audience can learn more about them as people. This is the part I find myself enjoying.
Ikeda: In a trip to the Land of Death, there is much to think about on each of the king's attitude and way of life. It adds another layer to the world of King-Ohger too. Please look forward to the movie.
Thank you very much!

Hidden inventory arc: Mr & Mrs. Nakamura
For context Marisa invited Shoko over for the weekend one summer but Satoru and Suguru invited themselves as Apollo’s guests after overhearing their plans. Now all three are getting a talk down from her parents. Satoru himself is pretty ok with getting an earful from the milf Elizabeth (and maybe Suguru too)👀.
I decided to actually make art of Marisa and Willow’s parents. Elizabeth is Jamaican despite her appearance looking otherwise, she has Albinism, she even has an accent as well. Her cursed technique is in the works for now but it’s pretty much a blueprint for Marisa technique. She’s also a doctor. Hirotaka here has a technique too that involves souls and his right eye, also a blueprint for Willows technique, but he’s a busy businessman and is rarely home to see his family, that may have caused some resentment.. These two not only raised these two beautiful girls but also raised Apollo when his own mother couldn’t.

Megumi Ogata - Hohoemi no Bakudan (Smile Bomb)
Our dear Megumi Ogata (Kurama VA) was a guest at the Oishi x Nakamura's Memories Anime Song Club last month, and sang the opening theme of Yu Yu Hakusho. I love her voice!!
🎸Guitar and back vocals by: Masayoshi Oishi and Shugo Nakamura
A-R-I-G-A-T-O-U G-O-Z-A-I ... MASU!!
She also sang "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" (Neon Genesis Evangelion). I hope they upload on YouTube too.
Megumi also talked about the upcoming Netflix's Yu Yu Hakusho live action this Wednesday (November 15, 2023), on the "Megumi Ogata's Roar Yell ROCK!". The broadcast is available on the audio service "AuDee", operated by TOKYO FM.
She watched the live action teaser PV and thought it was really good. She was surprised in many ways, like by Yusuke's spirit gun (reigan) and the best VFX team in the world doing the visual effects. She was really impressed by that scene from the trailer when Kurama throws the rose and it goes flying through the air. She thinks the main cast is really good.
She also complimented the additional cast, fangirling over Kenichi Takito's Elder Toguro. She was really excited to see him on Younger Toguro's (Go Ayano) shoulders, and is really looking forward to seeing Takito-san's laugh (if you guys watched the trailer, that creepy laugh of Elder Toguro was scary XD). Megumi-san can't imagine other person playing the older brother!
She also recognized that Keiko-chan is actually Sei Shiraishi-chan, who has worked with her quite recently. She also mentioned Keita Machida-kun's Koenma. She thinks it must be incredibly difficult to talk with that pacifier in his mouth and definitely wants to see it in live action version.
In short, she's looking forward to the live action ^^

Ensemble 1: Humanity conveys. Part 1:
I stood as the representatives entered the room. There was an eerie silence as they took in what they were seeing. Several emotions flashed through their faces, while most of them were offended, angered or just incredulous, at first everyone settled with the idea that they were going to lose time and that I was crazy. They slowly took their seats, took data pads or paper notes out or serve themselves some water, until one of them spoke.
Nakamura – General Iceni, we are ready to start, how long do you plan to stand there?
Boudica – The amount of time necessary for all of you to pay respects as expected and introduce yourselves, Chief Nakamura. I did something you should have done and was expected of you all, and that is to at least have the minimum information of whom you will be meeting with. We are not here to drink tea, and none of you are inexperienced in politics.
Nakamura – We are here to talk about your insubordination general Iceni, don’t think for a second about using your position as an excuse for this drama.
Boudica – Chief Nakamura, firstly, you and all the people present here will address me as Boudica. And you are here not to judge anyone but to negotiate what will be our relationship from now on, as you are afraid to touch me given the support I have from humanity. So I will say this again, you will pay the necessary respects and introduce yourself formally, and those that choose not to will not leave this room alive. Did I make myself clear enough, or earth governments sent envoys with cognitive issues?
Nakamura – HOW YOU DAR...
Blood splattered across the table and Nakamura body fell over his own brains now spread over the surface. The seven dignitaries gasped and push themselves off the table, trying to get as far as possible from the bloody remains. The gun went back to Duarte’s belt, and silence took over the meeting for over a minute. After that, all the remaining guests stood and started presenting themselves.
Boudica – You may seat. I am glad to receive every one of you. Please, don’t be frightened about what just happened, you are allowed to convey any idea or question it may arise as long as you do it with the appropriate respect the situation calls for. I will clarify one more issue, for me, Jeanette Iceni died on the attack to Amanitore station. Now I have taken the identity of Boudica and the people in this station have declared me their Queen, as I have not asked for these clothes or the throne but rather they gave it to me. I wish only for one and only goal, revenge of the treacherous attackers that killed millions of humans, KalHal and Sanari. I do not wish to drag in this endeavour people that wish not to fight, and I will not go against anyone wishes or opinions as long as they do not intend to stop me and those who follow me. So now, as Queen Boudica, I declare this session started. Please, speak.
Mikhail – Your Majesty, I am the chief strategist for war councils Mikhail Ivanov, and as you already know, now the second in command for this envoy. I will explain the orders given to us as an envoy for you to understand our situation, and we will move from there to look for a solution that suits everyone present.
Boudica – Please, continue. I need that information to know what my standing is for the governments of earth, even if I already have an idea.
Mikhail – Our task was to negotiate with you for the command of this station, the cease of military actions and a public apology to deny the broadcast that was emitted two days ago. In exchange for that, you would be removed from your position as general and given a new identity to start a new life.
Boudica – Lady Sofia Al-Mansoori, if I remember correctly, you are a declared specialist in interstellar conflict resolution. Since your arrival at this station, you saw not only that the station did not stop its operations, but that the social climate of the people here was not the one you were expecting. I had read your studies several times in my previous life and I am sure you can respond to chief Ivanov why everything that you were told now holds no value.
Sofia – Yes, your majesty. Let me clarify the situation for all the guest here and if I am mistaken please feel free to correct me. Earth government started with the assumption that a rouge general tried to single-handedly take military resources to start a suicide crusade against any alien ship crossed its path. This said general, to gain time and support from local sources, made a speech while being mentally unstable and proceeded to guide a revolt, halting all the station activities, destroying the chain of command and should now be trying to flee on a ship to start its personal war with a selected few. Sadly for chief Nakamura, who took this information as the only plausible situation, thanks to the outstanding media control that was exercised from the beginning we could not have been more mistaken. Now, taking into account historical events, I am prompted to say that we are in front of a self-appointed leader, with a strong support from humanity, a common enemy to use as a justification, an emotional goal to unite her supporters and enough charisma to avoid a strong rejection from those who don’t support her. As I personally see it, the correct course of action for this envoy is to retire and establish a communication channel with the earth government.
Boudica – I am flabbergasted with your response, lady Al-Mansoori. Even if you lied in your explanation. You know as well as I do that having a Spec-Ops team eliminate me is the fastest and economic solution for earth government, given that you realized that my mental state does not allow you to use me as a political puppet. Even more, sir Rajesh Patel, as a chief of strategic alliances for earth, I should assume that the plan to use me to unite the public opinion should have come from you.
Rajesh – Your majesty, what you said is true, but the profile we had for this operation was not even close to reality. As for what you said about the assault team, I must say that you are mistaken in that point.
Mikhail – Your majesty, it is understandable that you need to think in the worst outcome possible, but that might be a little too much.
Boudica – Please, please, let me stop you right here. Sir Knight Silva, have you received any reports from the situation outside this room?
Duarte – Yes, your majesty, we are ready to deliver.
Boudica – Please, let them in then.
Mikhail stood quickly. — Deliver what may I…
The doors opened completely and a lifter, loaded with forty corpses in different states of disarray, entered the room. All the corpses had assault uniform and were still armed. Sofia and a couple more of the delegates stood up, and the real negotiations started there.

all the guests were already in their seats at the wedding venue, a garden at the top of a mountain.
although minhyuk had complained all the way to the top, the view was enchanting. everyone was arranged in spruce chairs, grouped in a single set in the center. on either side of the guests, two walkways with flowers along the edges that connected at the altar, through which both brides would enter. and the altar was the best part, a majestically tall archway made of oak trunks from which vines fell with grace. and behind it rose the magnificent view that the location offered from the top of the site, abundant with nature, trees, miles of green land, and in the distance the magical city of taipei.
despite having been sitting there for a while, the boy was still complaining about all the effort he had to make walking uphill, until he was finally interrupted by the music that signaled the entrance of the procession.
since there was no groom, the entrance did not start with him, but directly with the bridesmaids. from the beginning of the wedding aisles, two groups of them began to enter, one led by ningning, and the other, the one on the side where haru and her friends were, led by karina.
jimin knew how important this day was for yunjin and minjeong, and that she had to be careful not to ruin anything since she was part of the opening ceremony, but she couldn't contain her desire to turn to look at haru.
she had already met her with her gaze from where she stood before entering, and she was surprised that the golfer hadn't felt her intense gaze on the back of her neck like a laser beam. it was embarrassing, but she couldn't control it. after so long, her brain couldn't finally assimilate being in the same space-time as her. somehow, she kept thinking that if she touched her, maybe she would fall apart, or that she herself would wake up from a dream.
jimin made it to the altar without causing any inconvenience, but the moment she was in position, her head could no longer keep still and she was caught in a vicious circle of turning to look for the woman and returning to the event.
she had already seen haru on television, she knew what she currently looked like, but there was something different about seeing her in the flesh. maybe it was because the cameras didn't know how to capture people's essences, and that was the most beautiful part of haru. she shines among people, it's like being in the presence of a fairy. aside from her aura, her physical appearance was slightly different. her features a little more marked, her hair a little longer. jimin always found the athlete heartbreakingly attractive, but she had only become harder to take the eyes off of her.
in front, yizhuo had already noticed her attitude and began to beckon her to concentrate, but jimin only responded by pointing at haru and leaning her head to the side, denoting obviousness. trying to say that it was known by everyone that she would not be able to keep her full attention on the ceremony.
as the two exchanged hand signals and mouthed words to each other, seungkwan walked past them with the rings and positioned himself next to the center.
"your best friends are getting married." he reminded karina trying not to modulate with his lips so no one would understand what he was saying.
"the love of my life who i haven't seen in two years is sitting three feet away from me." she countered by speaking in the same way.
"friendship."
"two damn years."
"they're about to enter, be quiet." ningning warned, speaking normally without worrying about being overheard.
the wedding march began to play and yunjin and minjeong appeared from each end.
the wedding continued smoothly, although jimin wouldn't know what was going on around her because she couldn't look at anyone but the sports player. it wasn't that she was completely disconnected from the situation, she was clearly enjoying and honoring the union of love of two people so special to her, but kwon's presence disturbed her. the girl had already noticed it, and kept trying to avoid her gaze.
seungkwan went ahead to present the rings, and ningning and karina had to pass them on to their friends. but jimin was so engrossed in the existence of the girl she loved that she forgot for a moment about her task, delaying slightly, just a few seconds, in doing what she was supposed to, but it was enough for the guests to notice and some of them let out a short laugh at her confusion. she stretched out her hands with the ring towards minjeong and then returned to her place, noticing the golfer in the process, and that she too had a smile on her lips, which faded when she noticed that she had been caught.
haru didn't want to smile at anything the girl did. in fact, she was in a very bad mood at the idea of having to be in the same place as her, and her constant staring was starting to make her desperate because she didn't want, for any reason, to end up having to interact with her.
but there was something inside her that died of tenderness when it came to jimin. she couldn't suppress the urge to smile, to cherish her despite all the resentment she held. and something about that little mistake was so unapologetically her that it made her feel nostalgic.
finally, minjeong and yunjin closed their eternal pact with a kiss that ended the ritual, and all the guests began to move towards the reception hall, which was located down the hill.
minhyuk definitely complained again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"yunjin is about to throw her bouquet." announced ningning to seungkwan and karina who were the only ones left sitting at their table.
"you have to go." warned the disinterested boy as he brought more food to his mouth.
"but i don't want to get married." complained yizhuo.
"the person i want to marry has a girlfriend." surprisingly, that wasn't the first time jimin had said that phrase that day.
"you're the bridesmaids." he said obvious.
"you go." pointed out the youngest of the three.
"i already have a boyfriend." he indicated his finger to minhyuk who was across the room with a mouth full of cake. "go."
"you'll pay for it." threatened yizhuo getting up from her chair.
"not all men," jimin followed her friend. "but somehow always a man." she accused the boy with her index, but he just continued eating.
both girls joined the group of people waiting for yunjin to throw her bouquet so they could catch it.
"pretend to be excited." ordered the younger one, to which they both began to jump up and down and let out amused squeals.
the redhead turned and counted to three loudly and then catapulted the bouquet from her hands into the air. the crowd of people became chaotic as they began to chase after it, but eventually it landed
into karina's hands.
once her hands closed around it and all the others who had tried to get it stopped to watch her and chirp in celebration of the moment, she stopped to analyze it, a little confused as to how such a thing had happened. she smiled and pretended to be happy to keep the mood light, then spun on her heels ready to return to her table.
right behind, watching the whole event, apart from other guests, were haru and giselle. the former couple made eye contact for a moment, and karina felt the urge to gift her new acquisition to haru, but she quickly dismissed it and kept walking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they had already been at the reception for hours and nothing had happened.
well, minjeong and yunjin were completely drunk and all over each other, which was valid because it was their wedding. seungkwan and minhyuk were long gone, ningning and giselle had joined in their drunkenness and were happily talking to a group of strangers, of which karina was also a part, until she chose to step out to go outside to drink her glass of wine in silence, and also so she wouldn't have to see haru being kissed and pampered by eunseo the way she wanted to be doing it anymore.
but between haru and jimin nothing had happened.
jimin hadn't tried anything either. she was panicking. she had been thinking all night about going over and telling her how happy she was for her for winning the golf tournament, but she didn't dare. she was afraid of being rejected, denied by someone she loved so deeply. and every time she seemed to get up the courage, juyeon would show up.
it was strange how those two weren't on top of each other all the time, they had barely touched all night, but just talked and laughed as they always did. it wasn't until juyeon became noticeably drunk that she began to seek haru's affection, which made jimin's bitterness hit.
the girl finished the contents of her drink and set it down on a table that no one was occupying. she took a deep breath, preparing to re-enter the place where someone else was making out with the love of her life, and made her way inside.
she looked around, trying to locate her friends, but finding none, so she began to walk aimlessly searching. by casting a glance at the dance floor, through the crowd, she distinguished ningning, so she walked over to her, pushing and asking permission from the others who crowded the place to get to her friend.
"excuse me." she repeated to a boy so he would give her room for her to pass through where he was. "i'm so sorry!" exclaimed exalted as she bumped into someone and caused them to stagger slightly.
hearing no response, she thought the person hadn't heard her, so she assumed it was because she was facing the ground, so her voice was hard to hear. jimin raised her head, ready to apologize again, only to meet kwon haru's serious countenance.
"sorry for pushing you, there are a lot of people." she spoke without thinking about what she was saying. her eyes lost, almost hypnotized by the girl in front of her.
she felt like she was about to throw up.
"did you see juyeon?" the older girl asked without changing her bored expression. it was clear on her face that she was only talking to her because no one else had been able to help her find her girlfriend.
"what?" she was so shocked at the situation she was in that she didn't listen to her.
haru had just spoken to her for the first time in two years.
"if you saw juyeon."
"oh..." she looked around as if trying to find her. "no, sorry." she shook her head.
the golfer, still with her acrimonious expression, turned around ready to ignore her again and go on her way, but jimin, perhaps because she now did have enough alcohol in her blood to lose her fears and cross her boundaries, held her arm and kept her close to her.
"haru..."
"i have to look for juyeon." she cut her off quickly.
"wait, i just wanted to tell you that," she swallowed hard trying to relax. "i just wanted to congratulate you on winning the championship." she sketched a shy smile and once she finished speaking, she let go of her arm, free to leave.
"thank you." she nodded her head slightly.
jimin copied the gesture, looked down, and got ready to go, only for haru to be the one to stop her this time.
"did you really watch it?" the older woman asked curiously, slightly dropping her annoyed expression.
"what thing?"
"did you really watch the tournament?"
"i watched all your matches for the year." she admitted without thinking much before.
"what?" surprise took over her face. "you saw everything? really?"
"i know how much you love golf," she spoke loudly so haru could hear her over the music. "what kind of person would i be if i didn't watch your games?"
haru's eyebrows were raised in astonishment, the indifference and seriousness had left her face a moment ago.
the girl knew that jimin had found out when she won the championship, or so she assumed when she saw that one tweet. but she never imagined that she had actually watched the matches, let alone every match of the year.
why did she care so much? why did she still care? didn't she hate golf?
the older girl opened her mouth to say something, but just then the background song changed to a tune she knew perfectly well.
"exo!" she shouted euphorically, completely out of the context she was in, distracted by the first notes of her favorite song.
the girl's joy at hearing her favorite band was in complete contrast to the slow song that had just started. at that moment, karina realized that the woman was also a little drunk.
she herself was too a little dizzy from having been drinking continuously throughout the night, but it was nothing she couldn't manage.
the blackhaired couldn't suppress the smile that escaped her as she saw the other one happy and excited for the artist she loved most in the world. that was her haru, her favorite person, and she was finally in the same room as her.
exo's "don't go" flooded the room, and enveloped their ears. the song that had made them connect for the first time.
"i love this song." she assured once she calmed her excitement.
"i know." yu said as she looked at her with eyes laden with adoration. "do you want to dance?" she proposed during a rush of courage.
they both looked at each other without saying anything, the contentment pulling away from them because of the implications of that idea. jimin again felt the fear of haru's rejection, as the latter remembered why she didn't want the younger girl around.
but it was her favorite song, and as she looked around, she noticed that everyone was slow dancing to it. they were at a wedding, love was in the air, and alcohol was in her body.
maybe she'd regret it later, but for now, fuck it.
the golfer accepted by nodding her head with a bit of embarrassment, and karina's heart began to beat in such a way that she thought it was seconds before it would come to a full stop. she brought her now trembling hands to haru's shoulders and rested them there, while the older woman's gently positioned them on her waist. the two of them began to embrace the rhythm of the song.
there was no need for words. haru was enjoying the song she loved the most, jimin the person she loved the most. there was nothing to say. this moment was precious, perhaps unique.
kwon's attention was captured by the girl's hand moving to her chest, aiming to hold the necklace that decorated her collarbone.
the necklace they shared.
"hey, this is mine." she suddenly joked.
"it's been with me longest." defended with a thoughtful face.
she touched her own neck, reaching for her piece of the accessory and once she was holding both pendants, she pulled them closer together, causing the magnets to join.
"i still think it's cool that it has magnets."
"why do you keep wearing it?" the student questioned without minding what she said.
"because it's pretty." haru casually replied, her attitude serious, taking some distance, though without removing her hands from the girl's body, except one of them to separate both accessories.
"sorry." she said embarrassed seeing the defensive stance she had taken.
she got no response other than the straight look on her face and her beginning to avert her gaze.
"haru, i..." she thought before continuing. "i've missed you so much-"
"how's your relationship going?" she blurted out of the blue.
"wow, how do you know about that?" her eyes widened in unexpectedness.
"juyeon is incredibly nosy." she explained without making a big deal out of it.
"your girlfriend tells you about my relationship?"
"my girlfriend?" kept disoriented for a second. "and how do you know about that?"
"well, you were kissing just a moment ago." she shrugged in annoyance.
"right, you've been watching me all night." she recalled sarcastically.
"excuse me? we were just talking about how, curiously, you know what i've been doing with my life." she recaptured offended.
"we literally ended up in this situation because you told me you watched all my games for a year even though we didn't talk to each other." haru raised her eyebrow, judging her.
"don't pretend your eyes didn't sparkle when you heard me say it." karina frowned. "and yujin and i broke up."
"that's terrible, why?" she pryed with a high-pitched voice, like an inquisitive child.
"look at you all intrusive, do you care about me that much?" she returned flirtatiously.
"did you lie to her too and tell her you loved her?" she kept that annoyingly high voice.
"hey, our problems are about other things, that i love you is true." she angrily contradicted, not pondering her words.
"love, not loved?" she cocked her head to the side like a puppy dog.
"why would i watch all your golf games if it wasn't because i love you?" she blurted out sharply, her mind not being able to function at the same time as her mouth due to the alcohol and the irritation haru's comments and childish attitude were generating in her. "it's obvious that i love you, everyone at this wedding already noticed."
and again there was nothing to say, so nothing was said.
haru could imagine that jimin still had feelings for her, after all, she had been looking at her all night, and there was her history of strange tweets that always appeared on important days of kwon's life. but to hear jimin admit that she loved her even so long after, stunned her, she didn't know how to respond, and maybe, she didn't want to.
she remained quiet, lowering her confidence and starting to act more gently. jimin's words had made her have some sympathy for the girl.
karina felt a little embarrassed for having said such a thing so abruptly, but she had no regrets. at the end, it was the truth, and she hadn't been doing a good job at hiding it. she secured her grip on her crush's neck and moved a little closer, enough to hide herself in haru, so that the woman could not see her face without having to break away.
the song was coming to an end. that conversation had felt like hours, but it had really happened in the span of three minutes, or less. haru began to sing the last verse under her breath, and the younger girl was lost at the sound of her voice, loving that moment even though they had just argued.
"...i'll follow you even at the end of the world," karina knew the words so she began to accompany the older. "please don't escape from my vision," she was close enough to lay her head on kwon's shoulder just by moving a little, so she did. "don't disappear even when morning comes," she sang slightly louder, she wanted haru to hear that part. "your small hand movements, puts my heart in a whirl." they finished together.
the instrumental continued for a moment, and they swayed to it softly, until it inevitably ended. they held each other just a bit longer, even as the song that continued was incredibly hyped. the blackhaired brought her fingers to the older woman's cheek to caress it and detached her head from her body, but still in her arms. with the hand that still hung around her, she began to draw circles on the back of her neck, and her pupils fell to her lips. she started leaning forward, haru frozen in place, not going away, but not corresponding.
"haruru!" eunseo's loud voice was suddenly heard.
the interruption caused the older one to regain her sense of reality and quickly let go of jimin, recomposing her cold and distant facade.
the younger one, seeing who she claimed was the golfer's girlfriend, fled in horror, disappearing into the crowd.
"no! kristine!" exclaimed the newcomer, stretching her arm toward the place she had gone, as if that would stop her.
"karina." corrected haru.
"karina!" she exclaimed again without changing her position.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"haruuuu!" called giselle extending the last letter until it captured the athlete's attention. "could you get my coat? i forgot it." she asked when the girl looked up at her.
haru nodded and reentered the room to head back to the table they were seated at. the girl hadn't passed by this one before she left, as eunseo had reached for her things.
so she was surprised when she noticed a bouquet on the chair she had been using.
she took aeri's coat, and then the flowers.
how had they gotten there?
her mind began to search for events of the night in which such an object had appeared, but she remembered nothing.
she wasn't drunk enough to forget things, was she? maybe she was just too distracted thinking about her encounter with karina to remember other things.
oh.
karina.
she dropped her gaze back to the bouquet she was holding.
it was the one that yunjin had thrown and jimin had caught at the beginning of the night.
it seemed no coincidence to her that this had just appeared on the seat she had been in. jimin had left it there for her.
she smiled at the detail.

TV Guide & TV Station Magazine (Kansai Editions) ft. King-Ohger Cast Interviews for Adventure Heaven (translation below, spoilers)
TV Guide: Half movie talk (beginning), half fun free talk (second half)
TV Station: All movie talk . . . _
TV Guide (page 38-39)
Sakai: The film has wonderful guests such as Shido Nakamura-san and voice actress Ayane Sakura-san. The interaction with them left a deep impression on me.
Watanabe: There's a scene where Gira (Sakai) fights with Reiniol, who is played by Shido-san.
Sakai: There's also a scene where it looked like they were performing tsubazeriai (crossing swords and getting in each others faces).
🕷️Ikeda: Was it really intense when you faced each other?
Sakai: It was too intense! The atmosphere created the moment the cameras started rolling was beyond overwhelming, and it almost felt like I was being "swallowed up." I thought I was going all out, but I guess I wasn't. When we decided to do one more take, Shido-san said, "Come on!" He was very enthusiastic.
All: Whoa~!
Sakai: It feels like I'm only half joking, but he created an atmosphere that said, "Come at me again," I was able to give it everything I had.
Murakami: During the filming of Gira's coronation, I had an opportunity to talk with Sakura-san, who played Devonica. We all had the chance to talk with her and noticed she has a really nice voice.
Hirakawa: It almost resonates.
Murakami: We learned a lot about voices. She performed various voice patterns in front of me, such as low, high, resonant, straight, and a voice with an emotional range. It's an experience that only you can only see in this film.
🐝Kaku: Like the TV series, the CG in this film is amazing. We were surprised to see such original backgrounds, which are even more beautiful and fantastic than those in the TV series. As we watched it on the monitor we were amazed while going, "Oooh." I hope everyone can experience the scale of this film at the theater.
Hirakawa: I think the story is enjoyable, and contains a strong message.
🕷️Ikeda: I would like to encourage you all to see it on the big screen, as I'm sure you'll be impressed by how it evolves from the TV series in so many ways.
Sakai: It's been about half a year since the TV series started filming, and everyone in the cast is naturally getting closer to each other.
🐝Kaku: (to Murakami) You've been making alot of funny faces recently, right?
Murakami: Eeeh? you noticed?!
🕷️Ikeda: When you're tired right? (laughs).
Murakami: Mainly when I start my "engine," or when I'm sleepwalking. Sometimes it seems as if I'm not listening to what others are saying. The other day, Aoto-kun was holding a bottle of water and saying something weird like, "If you want this water, you have to pay 1,000 yen."
Watanabe: If you cut that just that part out, it sounds like a totally unfunny joke! (laughs)
Hirakawa: I'll start from the very beginning (laughs). Aoto-kun walked along a muddy road in the heat to get water for the film site.
🐝Kaku: It took about 20 minuets.
Hirakawa: That's why he jokingly said, "1 bottle is 1,000 yen."
Murakami: But I had just woken up from sleeping and was still feeling abit fuzzy, so I accepted what he said with as normal with a, "Thank you," while making no comments (laughs). If I were my normal self, I would've been more careful and said something. But in this worksite, you can be relaxed without worrying about anything.
Sakai: Lately, you've even started to make yourself laugh (laughs).
Murakami: I was able to train myself, since everyone is so good at boke-tsukkomi (double act)
🐝Kaku: My arms, are up (banzai) (laughs).
Hirakawa: It's about relationship trust. You can go big, because I think everyone will pick up on it.
Sakai: That's right. If you say something, someone will surely pick up on it.
Murakami: Thank you.
Sakai: Finally, which of the 5 countries in the story would you rather live in?
Murakami: I'd want to live in the country of Toufu, where Kaguragi (Kaku) is a Lord. I think it'd be really fun being one of the his citizens, because it's full of hospitality and delicious foods.
🐝Kaku: If there's filming in Toufu, rice is always served.
Hirakawa: Their rice is very tasty. I'd like to live in the country of N'Kosopa, where Yanma (Watanabe) is King, and I'd enjoy my life relying on technology. I want to leave everything to the machines and say, "Take care of me."
Watanabe: Although it's not depicted, I've always thought that there's a sauna in the country of Gokkan, where Rita (Hirakawa) is the King. That's why I want to go to Gokkan, for the sauna.
Hirakawa: If I ordered it, they might make one, but it's too cold to bathe in the open air of Gokkan (laughs).
Watanabe: I see (laughs).
🐝Kaku: For me it's Queen Hymeno's (Murakami) country of Ishabana. If I have an injury on my knee or shoulder and I want it to be healed, it'd be easy to do so.
Sakai: I think I could become macho.
🐝Kaku: Yes, yes. I'm sure you're doing a lot of health research on that.
Sakai: I'm not…
🐝Kaku: Say Toufu.
Sakai: Maybe Ishabana…
🐝Kaku: Why not?! (laughs)
Sakai: Maybe it is Toufu. I like the country side feel of the place! It's like there's nothing there…
🐝Kaku: "Nothing." That's a bit harsh, isn't it? (laughs)
Sakai: I'm joking, I'm joking (laughs)
🕷️Ikeda: For me it's N'Kosopa. I want to play games with Yanma and win.
Watanabe: Oooh~ sounds good!
Hirakawa: Well, It's a tie (laughs).
🕷️Ikeda: Shugoddam isn't popular, huh…(laughs).
Murakami: Shugoddam is a country full of small happiness, but many forms of it.
Watanabe: But, if I were to bring my camera, I would take it to Shugoddam. The architecture there is beautiful.
🕷️Ikeda: It's a European-styled town…and what do you mean "if you bring a camera?" (laughs)
Sakai: The question was "if you want to live there." (laughs)
_
TV Station Magazine (page 96-97)
"Bonds of the Young Kings"
Sakai: The first film for Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger will be released, and when I first read its script, I was very excited to see how the coronation of Gira would turn out, and thought alot about how I would act out his responsibility as king.
Watanabe: When I read the script for the confrontation scene in the film's climax between Gira and Reiniol (Shido Nakamura), the first King of the Kingdom of Death, It made me remember my audition. At that time, I was asked to watch a confrontation scene between Gira and Racules (Masato Yano), and Gira truly looked as though he was shining. As for myself, between the two of them, I was more influenced by Reiniol's way of thinking this time, but even still, I want the children to see Gira succeed.
Murakami: There were multiple scenes in the film where I thought I saw a new side out of all six of us. I wasn't sure how the scene where Hymeno meets her parents in the Kingdom of Death would be executed, so I prepared myself alittle for that part before we started filming.
Hirakawa: I was curious how we would film Gira's coronation and, on a personal level, how we would express a side of Rita that they had not shown before in the TV series. I was looking forward to it, but was also a little worried about possibly ruining what I had established so far.
🐝Kaku: I was very excited about the whole story, including the development of Gira's determination to become king despite hesitating. There are scenes where Kaguragi touches on his past mistakes, and It makes me understand what kind of mindset he had when he became king, so I can't wait to see how it plays out in the film.
🕷️Ikeda: I was honestly impressed by Gira's words. Going to the Kingdom of Death made me think a lot about the meaning of my life and, "what does happiness mean?" I think you'll be able to realize it, that even the smallest of happiness is such a wonderful thing.
Murakami: Between takes, I had a chance to talk with Ayane Sakura-san (Devonica), and she showed me how she does her voice in various patterns while right in front of me. It was a unique experience that can only be seen in this film.
🐝Kaku: The whole film was shot with green screen, but the backgrounds of the world were more magical than those found in the TV series. I was truly impressed by how beautiful the CG was.
Sakai: I think it was the scene where Shido-san and I are fighting. I wanted to go all out, but I guess I was alittle nervous, and the scene lacked some impact. When they decided to shoot the scene one more time, Shido-san said, "Come on!" he was very encouraging and created an atmosphere of excitement. Thanks to him, I was able to give it my all.
🕷️Ikeda: The cost of Gira's coronation has become a hot topic for some time. It's really cool, isn't it? It seems to be one of the main points this time.
Sakai: I also thought it was cool.
🐝Kaku: Also, the fight scene at the end is cool. Saying famous quotes before battle.
🕷️Ikeda: I think the film shows off everyone's good sides, such as how a king is supposed to act.
Watanabe: The part where each king confronts their past, Hymeno's scene had additional dialogue at the end, didn't it?
Murakami: I added the lines.
Watanabe: That part was really well done. I personally thought it was cool.
Murakami: I didn't know how it was going to turn out, and I was also worried about it, so…thank you (laughs).
Hirakawa: Gira, Yamma, and Rita perform actions in their pre-transformation stage. We worked hard on it, and I think it came out looking cool.
Murakami: I also really like the way in which Kaguragi confronts the past Queen.
🐝Kaku: Thank you. The scene with Yanma and Shiokara (Chiwata Yuhei) is also interesting.
Watanabe: Gira is both very straightforward and cool, so I hope that children will think, "I want to be like Gira too." With that, I hope you'll come to the movie theater with your family to see it.
Murakami: Each line has its own message, and feels like it has weight to it, so I would be happy if you could feel them as well.
Hirakawa: I think the message is very strong as the kings face their past. The story is also connected to the TV series, so I hope that you;ll enjoy.
🐝Kaku: The production of the film is different from that of TV series, so I'm sure that when people see the film, they'll think, "King-Ohger looks very interesting."
🕷️Ikeda: The world view of King-Ohger will evolve further and will definitely impress you when you see it on the big screen, so please come and see it.
Sakai: I would like you to see the determination of each king on the big screen. I'd be very happy if you could come to the theater to see this film, which we put alot of effort into. We look forward to seeing you!
