Dear Photograph, this is an image of my great-grandmother, Nana Anna, in front of my grandfather’s house (her son) 26 years ago. Her joy and kindness glow from this image which resonates in all of our hearts. Each day, I am reminded of her peace and kindness through this image and my joyful heart is a result of her unconditional love and care. How lucky I am to share in her love and last name?

Visiting my Grammie

Today is my Great Grandmother’s 93 birthday, unfortunately she fell two days ago and now she’s in the hospital. She’s ok, thankfully. She should be out by Saturday.

All of her elderly friends and my family have been checking in on her. Everyone at her church is praying for her. She will be better soon! :D

So... I have a dog dilemma....

Let me start this off by saying: my great grandma is wheel chair bound. She hardly leaves the house, and she has ataxia (spelling might be wrong) as well as depression. She can't drive anymore. She has neither a lisence or car. She lives in a small apartment complex. My mom takes care of her twice a day or more.

I've been taking Tucker up there every so often to visit her. It makes her days better, especially when she has really hard days. He hardly ever barks when we are there. It states nowhere in the lease agreement that she can not have dogs over to visit. It does state that they need to have proof of rabies if they are staying long-term.

My issue: Her neighbor, who is a Karen and lives to make my grandma's life a living hell, called the apartment manger this week and complained because she doesn't like seeing the "Large Dog" around the apartments.

She's never interacted with him.

I've never seen her outside.

I've always, always cleaned up after him.

He's well behaved.

This is making me sick because I know how much seeing Tuck makes grandma's day. The thought of taking that away from her is killing me. Does anyone know of a way I could get around this? Would getting a note from a doctor help anything?

I guess I'm just looking for ideas or ways to remedy this situation. Or maybe I'm just venting.

my great grandma just came in for christmas and she was using a walking stick and her caregiver said “oh she’s not used to using the walking stick. actually, i think she might be dangerous with it” and my first thought was my 92 year old great grandma hitting someone to death with the walking stick until i realised she meant grandma could hurt herself with like a danger to herself not a menace to society

Sometimes Miracles Happen!!

Throughout my 68 years of living my life I have seen and heard a lot of different things some of those things are easy to see while others are just not that easy to believe even when you see them through the eyes that God has given you. About 18 years ago my daughter buried her middle son when he was almost 3 years old. Then a couple of weeks ago we got a letter in the mail from someone claiming to be her son. So he sent his phone number in the letter and my daughter called him then we got to see him later in the week. He was indeed or long last child. This was truly a miracle and he has been living in Vernon all this time. That in itself is a miracle as well. It's been a couple of weeks and I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that not only is my grandson back into my life but I'm a great grandma as well. My grandson has given us another miracle and given us a baby girl to spoil. Dress her in frilly clothes, or just jeans and a flannel shirt. lol Thank you for reading. I know I haven't been here in awhile but I have had some health issues which have gotten better, so I can do more things again.

When my husband saw some old photos of my family he immediately said, “that’d be a sick album cover!” And then came back with this. 😂

I was in my Great Grandma’s backyard again. The sun was rising, the grass was very green, it looked nice and everything was cool. A random voice was naming animals, like. ‘Birds!’ or ‘Squirrels!’, and those animals would show up in hoards and do a cool dance with me. Until the voice said ‘Bees’ and I got swarmed by bees. I woke up in a cold sweat.

For the purposes of this poll please just stick to birth names! I'd like to do another poll for names people chose themselves later in life.

Today

I went to my grandma's house. We went outside and buy some food. She bought me so many, I was so stuffed.

I went to her house bringing my sketchbook, pencil, eraser, and colored pencils. It had been like almost a year since I last draw (come to think of it, I don't remember drawing anything in 2023)

I told her so, and she brought me a makeshift desk and lots of cookies. She sat besides me the entire time telling me it looked good while I was doodling.

I felt so relaxed today... Ever since I'm taking night classes + day job I don't have much free time (not me juggling 4 gacha games + Duolingo lol)
