my favorite type of event to work as a tech worker has always been dance concerts/recitals, which means that in the ~3 years I’ve been working tech i’ve probably worked over 200 hours of just pure dance performances (literally just as an extracurricular/occasionally under the table cash)
what this means for me is that you could give me just about any sort of lyrical, indie, musical, or pop song and i have, in fact, seen a dance to it.

I haven’t stopped thinking about that Hobie baby fever fic ever since you posted it. Many thoughts. Many thoughts many many thoughts and ideas many many little ideas.
You have people saying ‘Oh good luck lol kids are SO hard!’ ‘He’s definitely gonna regret it you’re gonna be a single parent’. But Hobie’s probably been WISHING from a young age he could be a parent, the only thing he didn’t prep for is your little one grabbing his wicks and him nervously calling out “Luv, luv help me LUV-”. He learnt very quickly to tie his hair back when he’s holding them. If you have a little girl, everyone always thinks it’s you who’s done her hair for the day or for school. NOPE. Hobie’s been with her in the bathroom since 6 in the morning putting her in braids and buns. Your baby is his whole world and he’ll be DAMNED if he won’t be the absolute best dad EVER ‼️
Oh my godddddddddd my ovaries went 💥💥
The Pitter Patter of Little Feet Pt. 2
Dad!Hobie x Wife!Reader
TW/CW: A lil angst at the start, Fluff. So much fluff.
A/N: I'm basing all my baby prep off of the things I had to do for my nephew. I am unsure the proper care that goes into textured hair but I hope I can do it justice!
Tumblr media
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
You remember what people told you, how "someone like him" wouldn't be able to handle being a dad, how he'd leave you. The words said by your mother hurt the worst, the things she said about Hobie. Your father was no better, especially when they found out you two agreed to get pregnant before anything else.
Especially after you put the positive pregnancy tests, the test results from blood work with your doctor, and some baby booties on the table as a surprise.
It was supposed to go like you imagined, right? Happy jubilant crying, hugs, congratulations...
You got the exact opposite, with your parents criticizing everything about your boyfriend, the father of your unborn baby. The man you loved.
"What kind of father would he be? A bad one, just look at how he's dressed! You think he can help dress your child?" Your mother scoffed. "And those awful piercings! I bet your baby will be running around with holes in their face by the time they're six!"
"And what about a job? You can't be the only one to support your family. He's a man, he needs to step up and quit it with that "punk lifestyle". It's not suitable to raise my grandchild in!" Your father grunted.
After your baby was born, you cut them off and had a courthouse wedding, and a little get-together with his friends from the Spider Society. A mix of a reception and baby shower.
Joke's on them! Hobie was an amazing father, and an amazing husband. The moment he found out you two were having a little girl?
Pink. And. Purple. Her style would be all punkish of course.
He got stuffed instruments that crinkled for when she would teethe, some guitar-shaped rattles...
And he would never admit it, but Hobie actually cried, when he got to hold your baby girl for the first time. You guys named her Selena. Selena Brown.
She came out angry, wailing, as if she was pissed off at the world she had only been in for a few moments.
"Already got the spirit! Make a big noise, a big statement. That's my girl!" Hobie laughed, playing with her tiny feet.
After that, Hobie was very attentive. From you working from home, he would help. He'd fetch the breast pump when you needed it, would prep the bottles, and keep Selena occupied while you worked. He would even take the late shifts at night to make sure you got your rest.
As Selena got bigger, her hair became a bit unruly, and at times you had no idea what to do with it. Hobie? He came in clutch. The proper ties, hair masks, grease (if needed), oils, brushes...
The trick was getting the rambunctious one year old to hold still while her father attempted to tame the poofy mass.
It was one day, you got up from your computer only to hear Hobie shout your name.
"Babe! Babe!" He cried out, grunting.
Of course, you made a dash for the living room, only to see your husband with your toddler. Apparently she had moved behind him, her hands clinging to his shirt to help keep her balanced as she bounced on her little chubby feet.
Her big brown eyes gleamed as she giggled, her bottom teeth poking out in the most adorable way.
Well... it wasn't from where Hobie sat.
Selena's little fist had a tight hold over one of his wicks, tugging his head back sharp.
"A lil' help, luv?!" He winced, hissing at you as you covered your face to try and keep from laughing.
"Come on, Bug, give daddy's poor head a rest. He's got enough problems with that mess he calls hair." You tease, scooping up your little girl.
But... even though her grip loosened, Hobie's wick stayed attached to her hand.
"Oh... ohhhhh..." You said, clicking your tongue.
"What! What!" Hobie groaned, trying to tug his head free.
"You made me have a spider baby."

Oooo! I’m excited for an Outsiders ship!
-Ok so, my hair is side tails and my bangs are dyed bubblegum pink, the rest is brown.
-I’m 4’11 and all my friends call me “4 foot of fury” or “Baby Coon”
- My favorite color is pink
- My style of clothing goes between Bimbo, Pastel Goth, Goth Bimbo, and Trad Goth!
- I listen to metal and rock (Three Days Grace, Skillet, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Theory of a Deadman, Disturbed, System of a Down, Falling in Reverse, Evanescence, Metallica, MCR, Breaking Benjamin, Hollywood Undead, Saint Asonia, and TX2)
- I also enjoy Musicals (Hamilton, Six, Dear Evan Hansen, Be More Chill, Heathers, Mean Girls, Grease and Grease 2, Beetlejuice, Wicked, Epic, and I kinda count Hazbin Hotel as a musical)
- I also like club/sexual songs (Scotty Doesn’t Know, Sloppy Seconds, Such a Whore, Belly Dancer, Go Hard, Ashnikko Slumber Party and Stupid, Ayesha Erotica, etc)
-I also like drawing and cosplaying
-Have EXTREMELY bad mommy issues, daddy issues too but not as bad
Your Outsiders Ship: Johnny Cade!
Tumblr media
Explanation: OK so starting off with appearances I think that Johnny Kay would be extremely attracted to you. I think he would stand out, especially with your Gothic bimbo style/traditional Goth. (Hey just like meee!) I personally think that he’s more into alternative people so I think he would absolutely love the way you look and just think about you all the time and always kind of have you on the back of his mind, but he would be scared as shit shit to come up with you, so Dallas would have to definitely push him (literally) to talk to you. I think that he really likes that you’re short and would definitely tease you about it. Based on your music taste, I think that you are kind of a bad ass and I think that Johnny would too. I think he really would like a lot of your music even if some of it is a little bit too intense for him he would let you know, and I hope that he would respect his boundary and you probably would. Speaking of which if you listen to sexual music around him, I think he would be so flustered he wouldn’t be able to even speak like he would just look at you with wide eyes like “what the shit is this man??” And I just honestly honestly don’t even even know if he would like it or not because he would be so flustered that he wouldn’t be able to even decide how he feels about the music itself. Anyway, you guys are kind of opposites, but not really vibes and I think you guys would be a really cute couple.

Have you ever listened to a musical before? O: Do you have any favorite? I for one love one called Six and Beetlejuice! (If the answer to the first is no, do you have any favorite disney song? <.<)
((If the answer to even that one is none, maybe any childhood nursery rhymes you like? xD))
All these backup questions, thank you xDD
I listen to musical songs from time to time and if it's available, I watch recordings of musicals as well. I haven't seen many of the popular musicals though, like Wicked.
During my late teens, I was obsessed with the Cats musical and watched it often (the new one can rot in a ditch somewhere). For my birthday during my early twenties, my mom took me to see the Lion King musical because I used to be a Lion King nerd. I thought the Shrek musical and Avenue Q were hilarious. Hamilton made me cry. The Disney Cruise and Park musicals are... something x'D.
And if I haven't seen the "Broadway" version of a musical (recorded or live), I may have seen it in movie form like Beetlejuice, Little Shop of Horrors and Moulin Rouge, Sweeney Todd, Rocky's Horror Picture Show, Les Miserables, Sound of Music, Grease, La La Land, Mama Mia, Hairspray, along with all the animated Disney movies and some live action ones, some Muppets stuff, other animated musicals and so on.
Do I have any favorites? I can't say I do but I do/did enjoy a lot of them.

Ok so no one asked but I was thinking about musicals and what I’ve been able to see over the years so I made a list. So this has taken over thirty years and most organised by other people and pretty much always in the cheap seats which are never actually that cheap anyway. I do live close enough to a big city and some big local theatres too so I’m a lucky spot and there’s more than I expected. Under the cut for anyone whose vaguely interested.
Professional Productions
Joseph and his amazing technical raincoat when I was ten - first musical I listened to the cassette (I know!!what’s that?) over and over for years I know pretty much every word
Les Miserables good songs - but like it says miserable
The Lion King it’s was ok but too much like the film to be exciting (sorry)
Frozen missed the first 20 minutes cos got the time wrong - the sets and the dress change are magnificent! Not too much like the film
Hairspray one of my favourites
Waitress had no idea what it was about but I loved it
Hamilton the most expensive tickets I’ve ever bought - took my daughter and her friend because they were obsessed
Chicago (on Broadway for 30th birthday trip)
Blood Brothers made me jump at end and then cry
The King and I with Trixi from call the midwife- amazing production. Cried again
9-5 in the underground theatre of the Savoy which was cool
Bugsy Malone a favourite film from my childhood took my kids
Bombay Dreams had to Google the name cos I’d forgotten seen in early 2000s but it was fantastic
The Rocky Horror Picture Show -dressed up for it when I was at uni very fun. Some people left at intermission not sure what they we’re expecting!
Anything goes or possibly Crazy for you- no memory of it really
Miss Saigon seen it twice, once from ‘the gods’ and couldn’t really see anything.
Guys and Dolls- had Ewan MacGregor in it which is why I went
Wicked reasonably good seats for this one excellent
Local amateur productions
Hairspray
Calamity Jane
Shrek - the strangest thing I’ve ever seen
Oklahoma
Little Shop Of Horrors
Singin in the rain was great and it rained on stage in my local theatre
West side story more than once
Local School Productions
The sound of music
West side story
My fair lady
Grease
Wizard of Oz
And finally Would Like to see
Six
Moulin Rouge booked for sept
Book of Morman
Mamma Mia
Everyone’s talking about Jamie

bestie, I was actually going to ask what you thought about 'the rise of pink ladies' because I want to watch it after finishing 'ted lasso' (I need to convince myself to watch the latest episode, ugh) as a huge fan of 'grease'.
so, I am glad I got your blessings, because the songs/edits I saw WERE FREAKING COOL!
only the first four episodes are out in the uk unfortunately so i have to wait until tomorrow to get episode five :( i love grease so much from the movie to the sequel to the theatre production (i've been lucky enough to see dirty dancing and hairspray since the pandemic too, i'm still waiting out on six to tour again and i'm getting wicked tickets for my bday because they're touring near my city on my actual bday) so as someone who is a massive musical lover i can say this tv show has my approval (or rather the episodes which have aired so far). i personally love the character nancy. it also has amazing representation along with the storyline consisting of the struggles they go through along with being teenagers. i think? there's a queer storyline between cynthia and another girl from what i've read but i can't be 100% sure. as for the music, it's catchy and the songs stay STUCK in my head for that week. if you like grease 2 you'll love this tv show (i say that because i think you'll know what you're in for because grease 2 wasn't well received but i actually prefer it to the first — is that a hot take?)
i haven't watched ted lasso but i've been told it's super good and it's on my list but right now i don't have apple tv :( *i'm sure i can find totally legal ways to watch this tv show wink wink.
