Good Omens & Visual Tarot - Part 1
I have been fiddling with a few different posts that are going to take a while longer still to complete. In the meantime I decided to do a little bit of a Good Omens Tarot visual analysis.
*Disclaimer* I am not a tarot expert, I am using visuals simply to equate these scenes to the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. Most of the limited meaning and analysis have been pulled from various tarot websites.
I hope you enjoy looking through these! They are not super deep or intensive but were very fun to put together :) They are ordered first by Major Arcana, then Minor Arcana, and finally Court Cards.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE FOOL
The Fool represents the willingness to take risks, being inexperienced, improvisation and beginners luck. Aziraphale and the 1941 magic debacle are very fitting for the fool card. He doesn't know he's just endangered Crowley in front of Hell, doesn't know about the miracle blocker, and what they are about to face. Teetering dangerously close to the edge of the cliff. Yet, they've just somehow successfully escaped the stage unscathed.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE MAGICIAN
The Magician represents one's potential, and capability to harness one's potential, especially in a situation where transformation is needed. It brings to mind the change that's needed in Heaven, the work Aziraphale needs to do to fix a broken system.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE EMPEROR
The Emperor sits on a throne, flanked by dual rams heads. This card represents leadership, power, authority, courage, and intelligence. The Emperor is considered to be someone who is very powerful. Crowley's powers and past angelic identity are still somewhat of a mystery to us, and we have good reason to believe he was indeed a powerful figure. Could this be foreshadowing as well?
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE LOVERS
While The Lovers in modern decks often has a romantic reading, traditionally this card represented a crossroads in a relationship. Choices between life paths, and commitment. Aziraphale and Crowley choosing their side at the end of season one reflects this crossroads and decision very well.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE CHARIOT
The Chariot represents overcoming conflict and moving forward, but the charioteer is warned to be wary of the way ahead. Crowley rushing back to Aziraphale after the Book of Life threat is ready to move past their earlier conflict and move forward. But danger might lie ahead.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE HERMIT
The Hermit represents the ability to recognize a 'teacher in a humble disguise', wisdom and enlightenment. Though it takes Aziraphale millenia, I think he eventually does recognize Crowley is a teacher or a guide in disguise for him, helping him sort through the abyss of human morality.
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE WHEEL OF (MIS)FORTUNE
The Wheel of Fortune card reminds us that life is ever changing and moving, we cannot stand on top of the wheel indefinitely, where we think we finally may see and understand things clearly, it will always turn. Looking at the Good Omens Wheel of Misfortune, it has interesting items like "going abroad" - a nod to season 3 possibly being set at least somewhat in New York?
----
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE TOWER
The Tower represents disaster, distress, and upheaval. There is an unforeseen catastrophe that will need to be weathered. I believe Aziraphale's emotional journey in the Job minisode exemplifies this perfectly. His realization that he has reached a turning point in his beliefs, his willingness to fall to save Jobs children and defy the Almighty... The path going forward will be difficult.

Good Omens Tarot Deck Predictions!
FULL DISCLOSURE:
-I have no advanced knowledge of what the tarot cards will be. These are educated guesses.
-I will only attempt to guess some of the Major Arcana because the official post on Xwitter has Muriel as the "Page of Angels" so obviously the suits are non-traditional.
-I've been a huge nerd for tarot for my entire life, literally since before I could read. So these are educated guesses.
-I'm only guessing the cards I'd bet money on. If I'm not sure or can't think of a perfect fit, I'm not going to guess.
Feel free to reply with your thoughts and guesses! But if you actually know, please don't spoil it for me.
Tumblr media
Now then, for the most obvious Major Arcana assignment:
If Crowley and Aziraphale aren't the lovers, we will all riot.
The meaning of the Lovers is not literal (as in, not about true love or romance) in most decks, but even the actual meaning of the card is perfect for them. Crowley and Aziraphale respectively represent the two paths we can take in life, and the choices we make every day.
Tumblr media
The Fool: Adam Young
The Magician: PLEASE be Fell the Marvelous
The High Priestess: Agnes Nutter (or Anathema Device)
The Emperor: Gabriel
The Hierophant: Probably one of the Archangels
The Chariot: The Bentley
Strength: Aziraphale
The Hermit: Crowley fits this pretty well, or maybe Shadwell.
Wheel of Fortune: I'd love to see the Nice & Accurate Prophecies incorporated somehow.
The Hanged Man: Don't shoot me, but Aziraphale in the elevator with Metatron would be perfect for this.
Death: Death! 🙃
The Devil: It'll probably be the actual devil (you can call me an old silly), but I'd love to see Metatron on this card because he's a DIRTY LITTLE LIAR.
The Tower: The basket with Adam in it would be perfect.
The Star: If that's not Crowley I will scream.
The World: The toast at the Ritz.
Tumblr media
That's all for now! What do you think they'll be?

A Kind of Magic
(Intro, part 1, part 2)
This is part 3 to the series exploring the Metatron as a character - Is this my decent into madness? That might actually be my last post.
For this part I am only going to delve into some symbols and lay out the tarot cards I've seen connected to the Metatron. I'm just going to be upfront and say I'm not the most knowledgeable about this subject - so it's just going to be a general meaning of them so I don't put my foot in my mouth. If I get something wrong or if you want to add to it pls feel free. I’m just putting out to the world what I have come across
And at the end will be a magic trick theory that is a little based in these findings - so stick around for that if you want
Symbols and Numerology
The probably most recognizable symbol in relation to the Metatron is the -
Metatron Cube
Tumblr media
This symbol is made up of 13 circles, which can be said to represent a feminine power, and lines that connect them all, which can be said to represent a masculine power. It is said to be the blueprint of creation that symbolizes balances and harmony.
It contains the symbols for the 5 platonic solids - fire, earth, water, air, and ether.
Metatron is said to use this cube to control/watch over the flow of energy in the universe - which ties in with his work with the Tree of Life
It has been used as a symbol of guidance, healing, and protection
It’s also said that Leonardo Pisano, or yknow Fibonacci, was the one who discovered this
Number 11
He has also been linked to the number 11 which is symbolic of
Higher ideals
Invention
Refinement
Congruency
Balance
Fulfillment
Wisdom
but anyway moving on to tarot cards
King of Angels/Cups
Tumblr media
This one is from the official Good Omens tarot
General meaning (upright) - represents kindness, compassion, and wisdom. As a person he is caring, affectionate, empathetic, a good listener, diplomatic, and easy going.
General meaning (reversed) - overly emotional or too sensitive. As a person he is manipulative and controlling
Associated with water signs such as Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces
The Dreamer/The Fool
Tumblr media
This is one I just came across when researching so I figured I just include it.
General meaning (upright) - on the verge of a new adventure that is exciting and unexpected - you may be expected to take a leap of faith
General meaning (reversed) - A new beginning that you may be reluctant to jump into. Reckless and Irrational
The Chariot
Tumblr media
another one I just came across when researching
General Meaning (upright) - overcoming obstacles through determination, focus, and willpower
General Meaning (reversed) - feeling powerless and lacking direction
Wheel of Fortune
Tumblr media
from the Angel Tarot plus the Good Omens Tarot had the portal as this one.
General meaning (upright) - big changes are coming that should be for the greater good. Is an indicator of luck, change, and destiny
General meaning (reversed) - unwelcomed and negative change. It may be that things were going well are suddenly falling apart
Death
Tumblr media
this will come into play when we start talking about the theory - so just bear with me.
Also his finger freaks me out when he points it at Muriel - reminds of touch of death imagery
General Meaning (upright) - spiritual transformation, time of change, and new beginnings. It signifies the need to let go of old beliefs or issues.
General Meaning (reversed) - resisting this change and holding onto old energy
Ok and that’s all I’ve seen associated with him. Like I said I’m just putting the information out there.
Magic Theory Time
you may be wondering what is up with Death - I mean Death is Death.
Death is holding Coffee.
In Nina’s shop, Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death, there is a repeated drawing - I can find at least three. And it’s a Skeleton arm and hand holding out the torch which has coffee on the top.
Tumblr media
It’s a great piece for her shop admittedly
It’s also a great piece to parallel the final offering our darkly clad angel with flowers on his tie gives to Aziraphale.
an offer that comes with a big change.
And how does a magic trick play into this?
Well the King of Cups is parading around dressed as Death - with a to-go cup
The thing is though the only other times we see an Angel - or yknow God - wearing dark colors is when they are performing Magic.
Aziraphale specifically called out Professor Hoffman’s book - which just so happens to contain an element of how one is supposed to dress.
This book also contains a trick called the Cup and Ball trick.
Now I’m not saying something was up with the coffee -though that almond is a little suspicious- I’m saying it was a distraction.
Aziraphale knew going into that conversation that something was off. He didn’t want that conversation or that coffee - I mean it had to be offered to him three times.
But it’s the actual conversation I want to talk about - we see three different sections.
Deceitful - He has been kind of joking around using his silly words. It's like when your higher up is trying to get down to your level - make conversation as if you are buddies. But it just feels off.
Buttering him up - praising Aziraphale and hinting at bigger things for him
Subtle Threat - bringing Crowley up, bringing up their past
This conversation is set at a round table with them sitting across from one another and a cup between them - a classic set up for a magic trick
3 sections = 3 balls
Between sections 2 and 3 Aziraphale even brings the attention back to the cup
But to pull this trick off one needs four balls - so this could be a part we didn't see or it could be when the Metatron reveals the second coming to Aziraphale at the lift - when the act is finally done and has succeeded
————————————————————————-
so yeah just wanted to throw that in there so it wasn’t just me regurgitating information.
In the next part we will wrap this up with how he has fashioned himself a King and what all of this means for our Metatron
and here it is - the final part

I saw this today and had to laugh *bull shit* because anyone who’s ever bought printing knows that nothing gets printed until the PROOFS are REVIEWED and SIGNED. You mean to tell us he didn’t notice this? 🙄

The Good Omens tarot is nice (lovely box, feels good in the hand, sturdy guidebook, striking art) but godDAMN was it a choice to replace "The Lovers" with "The Duo." Bold choice.

Well, I got eight of them right. 😅 Not bad, even if the Devil and Death were too easy.
Crowley isn't the Star. (It's Aziraphale.) Still love the deck but I highly object to that assignment.
I also don't think Madame Tracy is a good assignment for The Magician but I understand wanting to be able to include her. The Magician is a master of their craft, power incarnate, and the embodiment of manifestation. Admittedly Fell the Marvelous isn't those things either. (Except for when it mattered!) But Madame Tracy was faking her occultism. 🙃
And can we uuuuhhhh talk about why the King of Wands (an inspiring leader) is the METATRON?
ANYWAY. It fits in the bag I made!

Oh fuck yeah. Melissa reminded me that she has Amazon Prime earlier. We're going to watch Good Omens and I'm so excited! There's a Good Omens tarot deck, too, and my heart already just yearns for it. Literally Tumblr has made me want that deck just through cultural osmosis.
