Dynamo Roller is in the Salmon Run rotation again, and as it happens Dynamo is one of the most common weapons I see people mention on my post asking what people’s hardest Salmon Run weapons are. So here’s some quick tips to make the experience a bit less painful for you Dynamo non-enjoyers:
The most important part when using Dynamo is to do the complete opposite of conventional Dynamo wisdom and roll as much as possible. While it’s not very fast, the Dynamo’s roll squishes all regular Salmonids, even Cohocks, instantly. You can kind of think of yourself as the cleanup crew, getting the pesky non-bosses out of the way and opening up the path for your team.
Dynamo is actually pretty good at fighting Boss Salmonids, with the exception of Stingers and Fish Sticks, who you might as well ignore entirely as the multiple hits simply take too much time to bother with. When dealing with bosses, you almost always want to use the vertical flick. While the horizontal flick is wider, it also deals less damage and has less range, making verticals more reliable as long as your aim is true. Additionally, you don’t want to play around your maximum range, usually, as rollers have pretty aggressive damage falloff. Try to stay within medium distance for maximum damage.
And that maximum damage is beefy! You can oneshot Steelheads very reliably, and most other bosses go down in two swings, or even one if you can manage to get the fling-rollerbump combo (though that’s somewhat unreliable at the best of times).
And while I did say to primarily focus on vertical flicks, horizontals do have their time and place, too. They rain down ink over a large area, making them useful for hitting angles you couldn’t normally get at reliably.
But where Dynamo Roller really shines is in special waves. Glowfly waves is the big standout, as you can slow-roll by only very slightly tilting the stick forward, moving yourself at a glacial pace while still having the roller hitbox, crushing the entire wave underfoot with basically no effort. Goldie Seeking is another big standout, as crashing into the Goldie while it tries to run away will deal absolutely ludicrous amounts of damage to it and generate a ton of Golden Eggs all at once, assuming you don’t kill it outright. Additionally, Dynamo is pretty good against Mudmouths, too, as you can simply park yourself in front of the Mudmouth and just let it spit out Salmonids right into the sweet embrace of your Roller.
Dynamo Roller is admittedly an acquired taste, especially in Salmon Run, and it is hard to use well, but be patient and watch your ink tank, and you’ll absolutely get results!
Small Fry: edible, just pop it in your mouth whole its fine
Chum: they're swarming you to ask if you've got games on your phone
Cohock: one of those beer belly grill dads who's burgers always look like the coals they're cooking on
Snatcher: amazon prime
Big Shot: crawling all over the shore like weevils
Maws: he'll stop biting you if you give him some attention smh
Flipper Flopper: flippity floppity get off of my property
Steel Eel: on high tide it's on SIGHT
Slammin Lid: boo we hate you and your ink blocking forcefeild
Flyfish: unauthorized fucking thing
Drizzler: come out of your umbrella i just wanna talk (<-lying)
Steelhead: Sir Please I'm Just Walking Here
Stinger: unauthorized fucking thing 2: electric boogaloo
Fish Stick: look you're very cute and i love you but for the love of god would you fuck off, i can't be the only person inking the damn stage AND taking you guys out
Scrapper: call an ambulance, call an ambulance! the ambulance is another fucking scrapper

The Crab Tank's lob shot (R-button) functions like a bomb, so it can be used on mudmouths for quick splats. Best when used on golden mudmouths to keep the map cohock free and maximize egg gains!
Hey so I managed to get a very lucky run of Salmon Run for my first game today! First round is Mudmouths, second is Goldie hide and seek, and the last round is tornado.
If you got some friends who want to do an Eggsective level golden egg collectathon than here's the code! Have fun :] 🥚🌟
you are automatically revived upon death, but it takes away 1 golden egg from the basket if you have it. if you don't, no revive. you also cannot be revived normally.
also extra chance for glowflies, mudmouths, low tide and high tide
dunno if you still want asks but i found out that if you throw a golden egg into the sea that it'll bounce right back.
Also one time in salmon run i saw someone use up BOTH BOOYAH BOMBS on a mud mouth event. Not even close to the end like right at the start. Is that a strategy im unaware of?
...No it really isn't??? what was that person doing..... they must really really hate mudmouths i guess PFFFFFTT
i had a mega cringe embarrassing moment with the golden egg and sea thing you mentioned, i kept throwing them in without noticing and i thought someone in the team was just throwing them back for some reason. once i realized i wanted to throw myself instead so bad
It has come to our attention that a number of bugs are currently impacting Next Wave runners. We have compiled and translated a list of known bugs from a Twitter thread kindly provided to us in the Grizzco Break Room Discord. Thank you Minaraii for the heads up!
Here is the thread, which mod Jenna has translated to the best of her ability:
Mudmouths will move at high speeds/teleport (supposed to be stationary)
If a teammate/friend’s rank differs by 10, it will count as a “support” instance and the person with the higher rank will not get an increase in rank
Sometimes main weapon fire will not appear when shooting
Flyfish will sometimes ascend at high speeds/unreachable heights when they spawn
Communication error may appear at the end of final wave
Brella canopy when released will sometimes fly/ascend to the sky
Some pretty bad lag issues between players even with low ping
Golden eggs may not be able to be picked up due to said previous lag
Golden eggs may lag when picking it up
Sometimes when going to pick up a golden egg, it does not register and the egg will not get picked up even though the net animation appears for a brief moment
Goldie seeking - when hitting the Goldie with a large enough damage (i.e. charger full charge), it will only drop 1 egg instead of two or more. (I actually have no clue if this is a bug or not I forgot what it was like in splat 2)
Slammin' Lid will launch you if you are on top of it
Slammin' Lids can sometimes be stacked on top of each other and are not able to be taken down (softlocked)
Goldie seeking - when shooting the Goldie, it will give power eggs instead of dropping golden eggs
Xtrawave - sometimes a player will clip through the stage if they end up beneath the Cohozuna when it lands after using Booyah Bomb (I’m not sure if it’s special specific or not)
Glowflies - Inkjet on top of egg basket will cause massive lag for all teammates, but the timer will remain normal
Cohock charge - defeating the Slammin' Lid will sometimes not drop golden eggs
Xtrawave - Cohozuna’s tackle will sometimes clip the player into the stage and will continually die. Other teammates cannot reach them to revive them either
When a Flipper-Flopper spawns, it will sometimes have its zone already painted without players doing anything
Grillers - laser that indicates which player it is targeting may appear very faint
Golden eggs can end up on top of the basket
Goldie seeking - golden eggs can land on top of the gusher valves
Golden eggs that appear after defeating boss salmonids can remain in the air/not drop all the way to the ground
Goldie seeking - after the wave is over, a gusher can still be present without returning to the closed position
Life preservers can get stuck in a stunned Scrapper and players can get stuck in the stunned Scrapper when revived
Life preservers can get stuck in Flyfish bucket
When you hit level 999, sometimes you will not be able to obtain the badge
Steelhead can get stuck in the wall on Sockeye Station and won’t be able to move
