Adventure Rewrite Idea Dump (Again)

Listen I want to talk about my OCs but I don’t have the energy to actually write right now since I feel like literal ass so it’s random fact time! Warning: random mashing of English and Japanese names for Digimon ahead.

First off, I’m planning on giving one Armor evolution to all of the kids. Regardless of Adventure or 02 affiliation, all of them are getting one Armor evolution. Only Pegasmon and Nefertimon are staying the same while all the others get reworked/redesigned or new stuff entirely. The 02 kids get Armors first while the Adventure kids are later on.

Also, there aren’t going to be any D3′s needed to open the gate between the worlds. All of the kids are going to have the same original model Digivice from Adventure. For colors at higher levels of evolution on the others it’ll go as follows: Daisuke - Gold, Miyako - Turquoise, Iori - White, Ken - Black, Meiko - Magenta.

Everyone is going to get to have a Jogress partner, but not in the same way that 02 used them. Instead, it’ll be more like Omnimon: an evolution that takes place after the highest level is obtained. Pairs will go as follows: Taichi/Yamato, Sora/Mimi, Koshiro/Jou, Daisuke/Ken, Miyako/Hikari, Iori/Takeru.

As of now, my plan for evolution is going to have Agumon and Gabumon go Mega in the original Adventure while Omnimon shows up during Our War Game. Veemon and Wormmon will go Mega in 02 and Jogress during Revenge of Diaboromon. All other Megas will appear during the first half Tri (which will be rewritten entirely to include the 02 kids) while the second half has the remaining four Jogress pairs.

Since Jogress is being handled differently, the 02 partners get to go all the way to Mega on their own. The evolution lines are below: Veemon - ExVeemon - Paildramon - Magnamon Hawkmon - Aquilamon - Silphymon - Valkyrimon Armadillomon - Ankylomon - ??? - ??? Wormmon - Stingmon - JewelBeemon - GrandisKuwagamon

The only Jogress evolution that will remain from canon is Imperialdramon. The others will be redesigned entirely due to either not fitting as much (Shakkoumon) or being used already (Silphymon). As for Armadillomon’s evolutions, I’m going to have to design those myself. No matter how much I search, there’s never anything that properly fits in with the theme of Ankylomon, so I’ll just make up mons myself. Fight me on it.

For the 02 kids, they have the Crests of Loyalty, Passion, Integrity, and Kindness for Daisuke, Miyako, Iori, and Ken respectively. Meiko will also get a Crest, though Meicoomon is special in the way that she has no Jogress partner and will act on her own. In fact, Meicoomon is being handled completely differently than in canon and is not used as a villain because I said so. Tri is being handled completely differently, so nearly everything about the plot is different now. Again, fight me.

Hurricane Landing is going to be reworked so that it fits into canon. In it, Willis is not going to be designated specifically as a Chosen Child. Instead, he found Gummymon and Kokomon by pure accident, and they bonded to him on their own. Humans naturally have the power to make Digimon evolve at an advanced speed; a Digivice simply refines that power and makes it less unpredictable. Willis is partnered to them in a unique way since has no Digivice but is still able to make them evolve pretty reliably.

On a similar note, I’m not using the international Chosen. I was never the biggest fan of them, so I’m just cutting them out. I’ll handle things differently during the World Tour segment (assuming it even remains in the final draft) to compensate.

Mimi won’t be moving away to America either. I feel like it would be best for the sake of the plot if I kept her in Japan, so she’s sticking around there with the rest of the squad.

I mentioned before that Tri is getting a complete overhaul, right? The first step is axing King Drasil. Yeah. Oops. Instead, I’m going to create a much more direct rival to Homeostasis. For now, let’s call them Havoc (which is a placeholder in case I wind up coming up with something better).

Havoc existed in the times before Homeostasis was created. In between the birth of the Digital World and the arrival of the Harmonious Ones, Havoc seemed to rule over the Digital World from afar. They created Apocalymon as a way of manifesting their chaotic whims, causing a reign of terror over the Digital World. In an unprecedented course of events, Apocalymon caused a severe distortion in the Digital World that caused time to flow faster than on Earth. Apocalymon’s existence caused a rift between the Digital World and Earth as well, and that portal pulled in the original group of six kids in 1980 (Daigo, Maki, Hiroaki, Haruhiko, Kaya, and Chisane). Their partners eventually evolved to become the Harmonious Ones, and they sealed away Apocalymon in the process, though time remained sped up. Homeostasis was born as a result of the Harmonious Ones coming to existence.

Havoc was mostly left to linger in the shadows, forced back by the arrival of Homeostasis. The Order led by Homeostasis developed Digivices and Crests for twelve children based on manifestations from the original six. Another distortion caused by an escape attempt from Apocalymon opened a gate to Earth where the Greymon and Parrotmon fight took place in 1995. That selected eight of the twelve children, and when disaster struck and the Order was destroyed, the eight were called upon, prompting the events of Adventure to play out.

During the attack by Myotismon in 1999, Daisuke, Iori, and Ken all witnessed events related to the Digital World. While they were not the only witnesses of these events, they caught Homeostasis’ eye for fitting three of the four traits. This left only Passion lacking in a host, though it found one when Miyako watched the fight between Omnimon and Diaboromon the following year, making her the final child of the group to be Chosen.

Meiko was not a Chosen under Homeostasis. Instead, Havoc was the one who selected her. After the fall of Apocalymon, Havoc tried to concoct a further plan to usurp Homeostasis and take over the Digital World, and they created Meicoomon. By imitating the power of the Digivices seen up to that point (which was only known to evolve Digimon up to Mega), Havoc created another Digivice, the one that would later come to be used by Meiko. Since Armor and Jogress capabilities hadn’t been seen yet, her echo of a Digivice lacked both of those powers. She was given the Crest of Darkness, and Havoc planned for Meicoomon to evolve into another world-breaking monster on par with Apocalymon. During the events of this AU’s version of Tri, Meiko purifies the Crest into the Crest of Balance, and Meicoomon doesn’t slip into her destructive ways, instead finding a place as Rasielmon.

As for the original Chosen, they split up after their original adventure. Hiroaki and Haruhiko grew distant from the rest of the group while Daigo and Maki went on to attend school together. Kaya and Chisane (both of whom are my OCs; fight me if that’s a problem okay) became romantic partners. All of them went on to live regular lives, most of them in the Odaiba area. Kaya and Chisane moved out to Tottori while the others stayed in Odaiba. When Digimon started to rise to prominence after the 1999 war with Myotismon, Daigo, Maki, and Haruhiko came to work together as Digimon researchers. Hiroaki remained on his own since he had other work at the TV station.

As for Kaya and Chisane, they established a small restaurant in Tottori. They left Odaiba without a word once they were old enough, tying the knot and living alone while owning and running their cafe. Chisane couldn’t stand the city life due to the noise and crowds, and Kaya wanted to follow her. They avoided much of busy life, staying away from any incidents involving Digimon despite wishing to see their partners once again.

All Crest bearers are sensitive to influence from Homeostasis, but their connection is on the lower side. Hope and Light are easily most connected due to their angelic links, though Light’s link is the strongest. Keepers of the Crest of Light can communicate with Homeostasis easily while bearers of Hope can still do it but are harder to contact. All of them are also sensitive to the balance of other worlds, but again, Hope and Light are most affected.

Since Chisane was the original bearer of Hope and Light (all the original six kids had two Crests), her connection is so heavy that it borders on being dangerous. Being near so many Digital Gates in Odaiba can cause sickness for her at times since she has a lacking constitution and immune system. When the worlds are unbalanced, it has a horrible impact on her. To avoid any unnecessary sickness, Kaya moved with her out to Tottori where there were fewer gates. They moved not long after the Parrotmon/Greymon duel in 1995 since the sudden outburst by Apocalymon’s escape attempt sickened Chisane immediately. The destabilization of the worlds always harmed her, but that was the most prominent example of imbalance at the time, causing terrible harm.

While the two mostly kept to themselves, Chisane was still vulnerable to being contacted by Homeostasis. She seems to speak to herself somewhat often, though this is more often than not Homeostasis asking for permission to borrow her body and mind. It was through her that Homeostasis learned more about how things were on Earth from the Digital World.

When the Mochizuki family moved in near them, Chisane and Kaya took to avoiding them. Chisane was fine with Meiko at first, but when Havoc placed the Crest of Darkness inside her, being around Meiko for too long began to make her feel nauseous after prolonged contact. Kaya grows incredibly protective of Chisane when Meiko is nearby, coming off as hostile due to her blunt nature.

The Digital World was created as a mix of three things: digital networks on Earth, the world of dreams shown at the end of 02 (one where everything is possible), and the Dark Ocean. The second of these two worlds is called the Dream Light. When all three of these lands came together, they spawned the Digital World. From there, lifeforms from all three lands were combined to create Digimon. Havoc emerged naturally, starting off as a virus program from Earth before mutating into something much larger and worse.

So as a great apology for my severe writer’s block and crashing nearly every night at 9pm after the kid is in bed and I have no energy because of the school year starting, I give you a sneak peak of a memory in the next chapter of Remember, the sequel to my digimon fanfic, Innocent Games.

Yolei wants to to have sex. Davis solicits advice. Humor, sexy times, and fluff. Daiyako. (a little steamy, nothing explicit)

“Yolei wants to have sex.”

“Oh.”

Ken is looking at me like I’ve grown an extra head and I groan, falling back on my bed. “I mean I want to, too. But… what if I’m bad at it?” “I don’t think I’m the best person to talk to about this.” I sit up and my eyebrows sort of have a mind of their own, creasing together in the middle of my forehead. “Why not?” “Lack of experience?” “But you’re smart.” Ken frowns. “You guys are ready for that?” “She’s a college girl now and I’m…” My mouth turns down to match his. He already knows how insecure I am being the younger one in the relationship, still stuck in high school while Yolei goes on adulting, so I bypass that issue and go straight for the next. “I kinda thought it’d happen by now, but you know, stuff always gets in the way. Parents, digimon, roommates, maybe if you remembered condoms, we're not doing it in a car!” I finish the last few lines in my best imitation of Yolei’s voice, scolding me. “Maybe you should talk to Tai,” Ken says and I immediately feel relief flood over me. “That’s perfect! His first time was with Mimi. If he can tap that…” “Davis.”

“It was awful,” Tai says, looking at me over a laptop and a pile of textbooks. I’m pretty sure I’m interrupting him writing his term paper, but he doesn’t let on that he’s bothered. “I mean, she wasn't, but I was. She didn’t complain per se, but I could tell.”

“Um, any pointers on what not to do then?” “Don’t do it drunk.” “Perfect,” I say. “So what about with that other chick? Second time a charm?” “That’s not,” Tai starts and then he closes his laptop to smile at me. “You guys are gonna be fine. You love each other, right?” I try not to go red, but it's happening anyway. I give an enthusiastic nod and realize I look way too eager. Thank God Tai’s so cool. “Just take it slow. Use protection.” “Thanks, Mom.” “Look, if you’re wanting details, all my good advice is going to be from my most recent relationship.” Going pale, I jump to my feet and grab Veemon by the tail, yanking him off Tai’s bed. “But Agumon was getting cookies,” he cries. “Abort!” I yell, giving Tai a horrified look. “Abort!” *

Matt stares at me. “Google it.” Why didn’t I think of that? * “Google has traumatized me.” “I warned you not to click on the ads. Do you want me to install a proper antivirus software? Yours is outdated.” “That is not the problem, Izzy.” “Why don’t you try the library?” * Cody starts to type my request into the library database and does a double take. “Please don’t involve me in this,” he says. "I'm running out of options. The guys on the team were the worst. They all started heckling me for being with the same chick for three years without getting some.” (“You’re counting the breaks?”) “So what if we didn’t do it yet? They just don’t get Yolei. She's gonna want it to be perfect and she's got all these ideas on how things should go. I can’t keep track of ‘em. Like, get this, she told me about how gross this guy dating her sister was just ‘cause he spent the entire time slobbering all over her t—" “Why don’t you talk to TK?” “He’s dating Kari.” “Point taken.” * “I need medical advice.” I open a book in front of Joe’s nose the moment I enter his apartment. “How accurate is this?” He lowers his glasses to look at the pages and suddenly turns pink. “I’m not sure if my opinion on Kama Sutra would be considered medical advice.” “Why doesn’t anyone know how to have sex?” “That’s not, oh God.” “Oh, honey,” Mimi pipes in, emerging from the bathroom. I didn’t even know she was there. She slings an arm around my shoulders and grabs the book from my hands. “You’re looking for advice from the wrong gender.” “Do you live here?” I ask her. “Sometimes,” she says. I stare at her in awe. “I have so many questions for you.” Joe immediately bolts out the door. * There are literally so many feelings tumbling over and through me that I’m not sure what I say first: “wow” or “sorry.” I think it ended up coming out as a combination of the two, because Yolei is looking at me with a sort of a weird expression. Her eyes are so much easier to see without an inch of glass in the way. The brown is nearly gold, something I never really paid attention to until we started kissing each other (she always takes the glasses off so I don’t smudge them with my “face grease”). I don’t think she’s ever looked prettier than now, hair all a mess and her face soft, with those eyes and her flushed cheeks. Some of the makeup around her lashes smeared and I rub it with my thumb which makes her bat my hand away. “Don’t be sorry,” she says, combing her hair back before she turns on her pillow. We barely fit there together and my eyes take in the clock behind her head, making sure we finished well before her roommate is done with class. “That was totally normal.” My eyes shoot back to her. “That’s it?” I ask, trying not to feel offended. “You just said sorry.” “Okay, true.” I groan. “Ugh, I’m sorry.” “Seriously, stop.” She’s smiling and she slips her hand over my chest, nuzzling her face in my neck. “It’ll be better next time.” I smile so wide my cheeks hurt. “You’re not gonna dump me?” “For finishing without me? I don't think I was going to get there anyway." She flicks my nose when I pout and I snatch her hand. "It was our first time. Jeez, Davis.” I put her palm on my mouth and her fingers cover my eyes. “It didn’t hurt too much, did it?” “Only a little, same as the dozen other times you asked.” “Sorry,” I say again and she wiggles her hand out of mine and tickles my ribs. I nearly knock her in the gut with my knee, so she ends it with a firm squeeze and I feel every part of her again, pressing on every part of me. I squirm, super uncomfortable. “Okay, I gotta do something about this. I’m gross. How do you cuddle after that?” She laughs when I stand up and she has the nerve to watch me deal with things. “The movies are full of lies.” When I come back to her tiny twin bed a little less disgusting she welcomes me into her arms. My thighs trap her left calf and her stomach rises and falls under my chest. I feel sleepy and rest my cheek on her, closing my eyes. Her fingers rake under my hair and down my neck. “I heard you borrowed Kama Sutra from the library to prepare,” she says. I slip my arms between the mattress and her back, pulling her in tight. “That was intimidating.” “Mimi said you scared Joe right out of his own apartment.” “He was totally unhelpful,” I mumble into her skin. “Mimi was amazing though.” Yolei pinches me right on my bare ass and I let out a really undignified squeak. “You should’ve just talked to me,” she says and I lift my face out of her boobs to see her squinting at me. Damn her terrible eyesight. “I've had a lot of unsolicited advice from my sisters," she says and then as an afterthought, she adds, "and Mantarou." Her tongue hangs out like she's gagging and I'm tempted to grab it with my fingers, but I know that pisses her off and I'm gonna be smart when all my most vulnerable parts are still exposed. “Aren’t you the expert?” I grumble. “The point is, I had an idea of what to expect. You should’ve told me you were nervous.” I scoff even though it's true so she looks at me with her serious face and says, "This was supposed to be between us.” Oh no, she set me up. "You know what else is between us?" I can’t even keep a straight face. I let out a ridiculous sounding snort and her groan vibrates in her chest. I kiss her jaw before she starts to get mad and her hands relax on my back. “I’m sorry,” I tell her again, moving to the spot behind her ear. “You should be,” she says and her voice is all air. I used to have this list: a bunch of boxes I needed to check off in order to think of myself as a man. If you had told the past me I’d be checking any of them off with Yolei Inoue, I would’ve died laughing. But now that we’re here, I can’t imagine being with anyone else. If you don’t count the argument about who should put the condom on that delayed the whole thing awhile, she made it easy. All the awkward moments we spent fumbling were filled with mutual giggles and a few snide jokes neither of us took too seriously. I don’t even care about those stupid boxes anymore. “I love you,” I tell her, kissing her ear, her cheeks, her lips. She rolls me underneath, all laughter and smiles, and says it back.

Nocturnalmon

“Believe it or not, Nocturnalmon is the virus version of a Digi-Destined. Nocturnalmon was "unlocked" when Candy's Crest of Truth changed into the Crest of Shadow and the Crest of Truth was re-hidden. However, Candy could still change into Nocturnalmon when she found her Crest of Truth again. By the way, Candy isn't all Digimon. She is half-human, so she has no attacks or name ending in "mon," and she can't digi-volve into vaccine, her normal form. Nocturnalmon is twice as powerful at night, as well. Even though she almost doesn't need a Digimon, she has one anyway. Her Digimon's name is Ksatsomon.

Nocturnalmon's Opinion:

Cunomon is okay. I prefer his virus form, though. Actually, I don't have a Digimon boyfriend . . . my boyfriend's a human. . . . *shifty look*

“VaPourdramon is the Champion form of Pourdramon, and they both have a crush on Cuno! Pourdramon is a purplish-colored dragon Digimon, with blue wings with yellow spots (same as end of tail). She has beautiful blu eyes and tiny little horns. She is very gentle and kind. VaPourdramon is also purple-colored. She has gray wings and the tip of her tail is gray. She has big gray horns and a gold tail ring. She uses the Crest of Spirit to digi-volve to Dragamon. Her human is Amy.

Pourdramon's Opinion:

I think Cuno is so cute. He reminds me a little of Veemon! Not only do I think he's cute, he's got the cutest personality.

VaPourdramon's Opinion: I like Cunomon because he makes me laugh. I like how he gets all nervous and stuff around girls.

Okay, I happen to like the guy, but I am not that strangely insane of him, like most of the digi-girls are in his crushes section.

Sylvia: I bet.

Sylvia: Well, you were when he called you a wimpy fox in our guestbook!

*Blushes insanely* That's because he sometimes gets a big mouth and don't know how to control it!

Sylvia: Foxnamon! Right now YOU are the one who has a big mouth! You mutt!

“Wulmon is an ice spirit-type Digimon. She has light blue hair and dark blue stripes under her big shiny blue eyes, and on her strong but beautiful legs. She has a big tail that has dark blue on the tip. On the tips of her long strong ears are blue drops. Her eyes are as blue and as beautiful as the moon and shine like sapphires. Her Digi-Destined's name is Tyket Munzo.

Wullady's Opinion:

I had never seen a Digimon as cute as Cunomon until I saw him. I'm a broken-hearted Digimon that was turned done by another male Digimon for a rag, but I understand the speech that Cunomon has made and I will still love him in my heart. And for all you other Digimon girls out there that like Cunomon, you have been given a special ability to see his handsomness.

Retro Spotlight: Terriermon and Lopmon

Well folks, you saw the winning poll. Sorry if this one took a bit but it’s a much bigger setup, and as with the original Spotlight: this one is going to have a heavy focus on cooperation and teamwork of one variety or another.

Only now with actual builds, variants, and Card Lists. Hoo boy. Buckle in folks, this is going to be a long one!

However for the sake of my, and everyone else’s sanity I’ll be avoiding a massive list of alternate forms for each stage that I usually try to put up, simply posting the data on the most straightforward lines.

“It is an extremely precious Rookie Digimon that is a twin to Lopmon. While Terriermon has only one horn growing from its head and has a calm but robust personality, Lopmon has three horns growing from its head and has the personality of a lonely crybaby. It is a Digimon shrouded in mystery, and it can be classified as a Beast-species Digimon from its body structure, but it's still not understood what kind of digivolved form it will take on. Also, it is rumored that it is sometimes born with its twin. At a glance, Terriermon and Lopmon are your standard “cute” Digimon who don’t pose much of a threat and are more there to be the team mascot. But the reality couldn’t be any different: the mysterious Digimon twins are both classified as a Combat Species, a classification reserved for Digimon who show exceptional talent in combat, or are especially well-equipped for it, or perhaps a mix of both. Digimon like Guilmon, Dorumon, and Veemon all occupy this class of Digimon.

Which of course means you should never underestimate either of these Digimon on the battlefield despite their outer appearances.

In terms of story, Terriermon and Lopmon make amazing partners for siblings (not going to be using that in the Tamer Playtest Packet, no sir),close friends, or sometimes even rivals if you play it right. But never feel bad about only having one of the duo: it’s just something extra to think on.

Lastly, while both are classified as Combat Species, Lopmon has a more reserved personality and is prone to being a bit of a whiner or crybaby, while Terriermon is more of an outgoing and ‘robust’ personality. This leads to an interesting tag team dynamic with the two: while Terriermon is on the front lines, Lopmon offers support from the back. That isn’t always the case, of course, but based on what the wiki blurbs state, it wouldn’t be a major stretch to imagine the duo like that.

Armor: Rapidmon (Armor)

The Digi-twins and Dark Evolution.

While Lopmon usually takes the spotlight for this type of thing, both halves of the Digimon Twin’s lines have the potential for Dark Evolution. While the black variants of Gargomon, Rapidmon, and MegaGargomon are all classified as Vaccine types, they could very easily be changed into Virus attribute Digimon for the purposes of this type of story element.

Considering both Digimon have lines with variable forms which, while taking on a different form, do not inherently have to be evil, an interesting take on the subject may be a type of “permanent Dark Evolution” where after the initial rampage due to mistreatment, or the Tamer’s emotions running rampant, the Digimon is permanently effected and can no longer access their original higher stages. This can create some fun roleplaying scenarios that some Digimon have a bit of trouble pulling off. Imagine your Turuiemon undergoing Dark Evolution and becoming Antylamon (Virus), then later the same Lopmon instead turns into Wendigomon instead of the previously established Turuiemon. While not necessarily common or easy to pull off, this can lead to some interesting character development and fun narrative scenes.

Variants and Subspecies

Red

RedTerriermon sport shorter ears and a coloration similar to BlackGargomon. They’re far more aggressive and particularly enjoy using their Bunny Blast attacks, which are noticeably stronger. They appear to share code with Dobermon, but the base species is still identifiable as Terriermon.

RedLopmon are larger than average and sport a slightly red hue to their normally brown coats. RedLopmon are a bit more energetic than the normal breed and take a bit after a normal Terriermon, and are usually great first partners for children.

RedGargomon have a similar coat coloration to BlackGargomon, but instead of their usual gatling gun hands, they sport a pair of massive and powerful flamethrowers.

RedTuriemon have a similar coat coloration to RedLopmon, but instead of its normal set of fighting claws, it sports a pair of Sai. RedTuriemon are more aggressive than normal.

RedWendigomon are the true berserkers of the Digimon world, but when in a bind they’re no less capable of being cunning. Using its strange ability to warp space-time, RedWendigomon is capable of setting off a fiery explosion anywhere within its line of sight if it so chooses, and often uses it to distract its foe before pummeling them into the ground.

Green

GreenTerriermon are an especially short, squat, and fluffy individuals who are known for their perpetually upbeat attitudes. As with RedTerriermon, they sport shorter ears than normal breeds. As a result, they’re often less aggressive than normal, and can often be found lounging around whatever place their Tamer calls home.

GreenLopmon have a particularly large and fluffy coat of fur, to the point that some could be mistaken for a gigantic, off-color Wanyamon. Fortunately, this coat of fur protects GreenLopmon from harm. And has the added bonus of being especially soft and fluffy.

GreenGargomon are a strange and jolly bunch, they rarely fire off their weapons, but when they do they go out with a bang! Massive rocket launchers have replaced their normal gatling arms, however they do take a bit more time to reload.

GreenTuriemon are a particularly calm species of Digimon, who have forgone weapons entirely and instead fight unarmed. Through intense meditation they have honed their senses, so that even while fighting blind they can attack with pinpoint precision.

GreenWendigomon follow the standard attitude of the green variants of the Digimon twins: it’s a laid-back and carefree individual, but with a mischievous streak: often it can be found using its powers to pilfer small objects and snacks, growing a bit fat and lazy as it does.

Skull (Champion+)

The standard Undead classification Virus attribute is a common type of Digimon to encounter, but can be particularly depressing when found in the Digimon twins. Unable to bear being separated from their other half, even in death they kept fighting until almost nothing was left, and then kept going.

MegaGargomon: Paladin Mode (Burst)

MegaGargomon (SaintGargomon) further augments itself with aid from Cherubimon. Sporting heavier, sleeker armor and more powerful weaponry, even being in the vicinity of this high-heat species can burn weaker Digimon to a crisp. The Virus variant, Blackguard Mode, was aided by Cherubimon (Vice) specifically.

Cherubimon: Holy Mode (Ruin Mode) (Burst)

Communing with even higher powers than before, Cherubimon exudes an aura of pure holy light wherever it goes, rejuvenating allies and blinding enemies. The perfect support Digimon, Cherubimon: Holy Mode would never directly cause harm if there was any other way.

Inversely, Cherubimon: Ruin Mode is a truly vile Digimon who enjoys nothing other than tormenting others. With no concept of teamwork or group tactics, it rushes in and plays with its enemies before ending them in a swift, decisive blow of hellfire and brimstone. And once it’s finished, it may even decide to attack its once-allies too.

The amount of weapons it has equipped rivals that of MetalGarurumon (Incidentally, while MetalGarurumon is a low-temperature species, MegaGargomon is a high-temperature species). Build Breakdown: Terriermon and Lopmon are incredibly similar Digimon at a glance. And that’s because it’s true: both prefer to sit back and pepper the opponent with a series of smaller hits from Blazing Ice and Bunny Blast respectively, however one might note that Lopmon takes a more defensive tactic at this stage: with higher Armor and Health but less Accuracy and Damage, Lopmon isn’t as aggressive a Digimon as its brother.

While these builds might seem a bit dry at first glance: they’re designed to still be at least a little viable as time goes on and Rookie forms are quickly replaced by Champion, Ultimate, and Mega stages, thus the focus on range over melee strikes.

Concept: Combination Attack. (Double Typhoon)

Terriermon and Lopmon, in the show, sport a custom combination move called Double Typhoon. Maybe allow both Digimon to use a Complex Action to act at the same time, doubling the Burst size and Damage of each of their tornado attacks (Tiny Twister and Terrier Tornado). Be sure to ask your GM for permission to use this tactic.

Champion

Build Breakdown: Turuiemon and Gargomon start to take different roles: Turuiemon gets up close and personal with the enemy and sports more overall dodge to compensate for the relative danger of getting into melee range with an enemy, while Gargomon takes a safer raged approach, but both Digimon still favor offense over anything.

Turuiemon’s Ninja Fist will likely be your go-to move against targets which sport low Dodge but high Armor, and with luck Poison will kick in and make them even easier to take down. Ninja Fist is also your positioning Attack, so use it well.

Gargomon’s go-to move is Gargo Pellets, which is sure to give any enemy a hard time and provide Turuiemon with valuable cover fire while it does. However, if something gets too close for comfort, don’t be afraid to use Bunny Pummel to get some breathing room.

Both Digimon also sport an incredibly useful Stun Attack (Bunny Kicks and Bunny Flash-Bomb) which can be used to great effect to support the other half, or the rest of the party if you see fit.

Ultimate

Rapidmon

Build Breakdown: Both Digimon start to take on a bit of a hybrid role at this stage: Rapidmon sporting higher defenses befitting a Tank, and Antylamon dips into a Healing Ability. While neither are particularly great at the half-role they’ve been given, it can help fill some holes in your party if deemed necessary.

Rapidmon’s go-to tactic is to use Homing Blast at a distance, but scare off closer enemies with Rapid Fire. If something gets into Melee range, be sure to get away with Getaway Kick.

Antylamon instead prefers to use Treasure Axe to get up close, then use either Arm Bomber or Bunny Blades to buy some time or deal as much damage as possible in a short period.

Mega

Build Breakdown: At their Mega Stage, the secondary roles start to feel more like primary roles for both of these Digimon, but they’re still capable of fulfilling a DPR role if the need arises. MegaGargomon as an impressive Tank Digimon sporting a variety of powerful attacking options, and Cherubimon (Virtue) now sporting heavy ranged area support for its allies.

Unfortunately, Cherubimon’s lost a positioning attack, as the DP required to make this form was too much to also dip into something which wasn’t the new role it took. But on the other hand, it might not even need to thanks to the potency and versatility of Lightning Spear. If you target an enemy: great, now it deals damage. But if an ally is hit by the attack instead, they gain a whopping +18 to all of their Stats for a short period. That’s a massive boost! Otherwise, supporting with a vast mixture of tactics from the rest of its Attack pool isn’t a bad idea: especially when they have a wide area of effect to work with.

Speaking of areas of effect: MegaGargomon is an absolute monster: if the Taunt effect doesn’t draw the enemy’s fire to it, the fact that it’s a massive metal abomination firing off insane amounts of weapons at once with insanely high area tags will change their mind. Even Mega Twister, your go-to Taunt effect, has a range of 19 in a Burst: that’s enough that most enemies will be hit by it and go right for you.

But together these two make a potent and hard-to-kill tag team: Cherubimon boosting and healing MegaGargomon while MegaGargomon does what it does best can be a hard core to break.

Terriermon and Lopmon Starter Packs: Double Trouble.

In addition to doing a Starter Pack for each Digimon, I’m going to be using a new mechanic: Combo Packs. Combo Packs are Decks made for two players to cooperate with, and as such have smaller individual Deck sizes of 15 points over 20, but are designed as a cohesive whole that encourages teamwork and coordination between the two. There are no other limitations on Combo Packs.
