this is yuuna, from yugioh go rush, which is currently airing:

she's the child president of a big company (sort of the equivalent of kaibacorp in go rush) and is a mean little 11 year old. she is also completely and totally in love with her best friend rovian and i am not joking or exaggerating.

they're always together and they've been friends since they were very young. yuuna ADORES rovian. she will move the fucking mountains for rovian. she has some pretty significant character development in the third arc and moves the plot along because she loves rovian so much.

an important thing to note is that rovian speaks in a very roundabout stylistic and lyrical way that's difficult to understand if you're not on her level of constant free association. yuuna is the only one who can consistently translate what she's saying, probably because she's been around rovian so long that it comes as second nature to her.

yuuna does not behave this way towards any other character. it's only rovian. the show even goes so far as to show things like yuuna imagining them on a date, with hearts surrounding them:

and while rovian is, as mentioned, kind of incomprehensible, she clearly isn't bothered by any of this. she always looks happy when yuuna praises her, and if she didn't want yuuna around she would've done something about it long ago - rovian doesn't take shit from anyone. yuuna is her right hand and her trusted confidant. rovian is terrible at communicating things to other people (the only other person we see who can even kind of understand her is her cousin), but yuuna gets her effortlessly.

it's very sweet and they care about each other a lot. if i as a child had seen a female character that loved a girl as much as yuuna loves rovian, i think i would've had so much less internalized homophobia. it makes me really happy that there could be a kid out there, watching go rush now, who will later realize they're gay and think warmly of these girls from their childhood.

Great thanks to @my-strange-anime-ponderings for letting me use and expand on their idea for Velearcore! It was really fun to come up with the different designs, to which I will get into below the cut.

Yuna I let myself be inspired by a certain someone proclaiming her to be the daughter of their husband. Which also led me going for the Eye of God Galaxy at first, before I decided on the Fireworks Galaxy. It fits better with the bubbles on her usual dress and circles suit her very well. Though I think she would still want her atire to be brighter, I thought it was a nice contrast to the magenta and blue.

Rovian I have to admit was a bit difficult, since the Sombrero Galaxy had not that much to offer in colour. I could have chosen a different one, but none of them was to my liking, so I had to deal. It's a circle surrounding light and considering her arc, I thought it fit perfectly (and not just because I grew too attached to the galaxy). I could have also taken more from her original design, but that did not turn out so well.

For Manabu I chose the Black Eye Galaxy (but refrained from giving him actual black eyes. There is already so much black.) Since none of the others had proper capes just yet, I thought a thick and all enveloping one would be great. I also wanted to give him a helmet, but his space-time scarred me too much. I can't...

The Twins have huge inspiration from Yudias' clothes, since they are the closest. I gave them the Antennae Galaxies. As the name suggests these are two galaxies, in the middle of a collision. Honestly, I like them both the most. They also have their swords switched.

That's all she does? Waiting for Yuga to show up again? Nothing else??

I know you have a crush on him but Yudias deserves to know where Yuga is first way more than you, Yuna. He and his people are dying, you know?

Oh great, she's actually aware of how she's wasting time doing nothing useful like helping the others. I mean why isn't she using her own connections to find Yuga? Why no team work with Asaka again? Heck, why not ask Sky to do some searching?? I mean Yuna asked them for help before iirc so why not do it again?

Why is Bridge making her have just Yuga in mind while doing absolutely nothing to find him or looking for other ways to help the Velgearians???

Okay so I don't know like anything about Go Rush but ima give my two cents on the Yuna/Yuga situation anyways.

WARNING! MY OPINIONS BELOW READ IF YOU DARE

If Yuga(Ohdo) is the father of the Goha Siblings, then technically they would be Ohdos (unless ya know, Yuna divorces him for some reason and takes her last name back, leading to her being single mom raising six kids which would be funny as hell/the other way around but Yuga's the one divorcing) but it would be really freaking weird. As one of my moots said, imagine being Yuo and calling your dad cute. I know Bridge is a little weird some(most of the)times, but if they remember this im just gonna hope they really don't make Yuna/Yuga canon. Both Yuna and Yuga have different peoples they could be shipped with for FAR better results (Yuna/Rovian, Luke/Yuga or the one I honestly prefer, Yuo/Yuga). Yuna/Yuga is honestly kinda unhealthy. Also, wouldn't any of the Goha Siblings recognize Yuga, even if it was faint? It would be weird for Goha Yuga to have the SAME EXACT NAME of his father (like I have five people in my family that have the same name but it's "the second, the third, the fourth, etc) but Yuga Goha (which in this storyline would apparently also be Yuga Ohdo) has no way to differentiate between himself and Yuga Ohdo. I just really don't see how it would even work out, especially if you note the fact that Yuga just isn't interested. So uh yeah that's all I've got and since I know like nothing about Go Rush, some of this most likely will be a little wrong.

When you have to hold up your guitar in order to perform a Fusion summon

Ngl, when I watched ep 83 live, I really disliked it and watching it with subs later didn't completely change my mind about it either. I found the baby stuff dumb (why the heck did we need to see baby!Yudias poop in his diapers while everyone just stares at him?) but especially Yuna's attitude. A fake world or not, why was there a need to make her so baby crazy up to the point she just looked like a psycho? Also not a fan how she acted like some submissive wife to "Yuga" when her supposed to be husband didn't say a single thing in this delusion. Like if this is supposed to be her dream come true then why not have "Yuga" talk and properly interact with Yuna, maybe even showing some affection? All he did is work on his stuff, left the house to continue working on his stuff and in the end, lawn mowing.

The episode was honestly annoying until we reach the end of the duel and we get this scene:

The way Yuna says "a pretend family" while having her back turned away from the others but then turns around to face them with a smile, saying that "it was fun" and keep on smiling... As if Yuna wants to convince the others and herself that it was just some stupid illusion she played along with and not something she fell for it for real.

But then we see her having a slight sad look at the flowers when Yudias and co. left (before she goes back smiling and following the others).

So what to get from all of this? Yuna's deepest wish is to have a family with Yuga? But: Does Yuga even matter here tho? As mentioned before, he didn't say a single thing nor was really affectionate with Yuna in any way in her delusion. He just existed until he vanished. So maybe Yuna wants a family but Yuga's just there because he's her current crush so ofc he plays her hubby and father of their kids. Which makes me wonder what's with Yuna's family. Like does she still have parents or any kind of relatives? Or is she all alone? I mean, having no family could lead to you wanting your own family later. And maybe all the shit we saw could be explained by Yuna simply not knowing what a *good* marriage and family life is supposed to be because she never saw it before. But if that had been the writers' intention then they could've done that much better. And tbh, I have my doubts that they even put that much thought into it.

Ngl, I still don't like YugaYuna, I don't wish for it to ever become canon and I had hoped for this episode to play out a little different. (going more into the "Yuna wants to be relied on after relying so much on Rovian and Yuga so she acts like some teacher to the toddlers" direction instead of playing mama) But well, it is how it is now. I just can hope now that the writers will have Yuna get over Yuga before Go Rush ends. She left Rovian to be more independant and have room to grow. Can she now leave Yuga too? Because unless the writers pull the biggest bs, this love has no future at all so and there's no need for Yuna having to go through a heartbreak. Let her grow out of her crush so she can eventually say goodbye to Yuga as a good friend.
