My name is Tomm, and I use They/Them pronouns! I am 18 years old, non-binary and queer!

My Main Interests at the moment are Monster High G3, GrojBand, and Go Jetters! My favorite characters from each franchise are Heath Burns, Corey Riffin and Kyan. I will post a LOT about them, so do be warned!

Some of my other interests, big or small, include Rainbow High, Shadow High, Monster High G1 & G2, Total Drama, Winx Club, Teen Titans, Dreamworks Trolls, The Owl House, LEGO Ninjago, TMNT, The PowerPuff Girls, Your Favorite Martian, Club Penguin, Moshi Monsters and just the creation of Kids Animated Media as a whole!

“LET’S BLAST OFF!” ☆ ORIGINAL CHARACTER BIOGRAPHIES AND DESCRIPTIONS

The Blast-Offs is a team of former Go Jet Academy students, who were expelled for a variety of misdoings during their time as cadets, who are on a mission to prove that they are superior, despite lacking all of their academy training. The team make their mark early on, by staging accidents in stealth, making it seem as if a landmark has been Glitched, and then swooping in and saving it publicly, giving the appearance to the public that they are a team of vigilante heroes. The Blast-Offs consists of four members, Sora ( The Demolitionist), Navi (The Spy), Iker (The Helmsman), and Zea (The Schemer). Together, they create havoc around the world, and make sure that the world knows they’re not to be taken lightly.

Learn how this sinister team came to be !

ZEA

Snarky and self-confident Zea is the founder of the Blast-Offs, and is known as “The Schemer”. During her time at the Go Jet Academy, she was a classic bully, loving to play elaborate pranks and tricks on her fellow students, as well as teasing her targets relentless. Expelled after crossing one boundary too many, Zea is the most underestimated member of the group, when she is the true mastermind behind every single one of the Blast-Offs schemes, plots and plans.

Zea is prideful in her skills and actions, and is self-assured to the point that she refuses to believe any of her plans can fail, making her come off as arrogant. She is loud, commanding, and above all else, rotten to the core. When things go her way, she’s not afraid to let it be known, with a derogatory “obviously!” thrown her opponent’s way.

IKER

Feisty and passionate to a deadly point, Iker is known as the Blast-Offs “Helmsman”. Iker has always felt like he is the “second-best” wherever he goes, especially when he was a cadet at the Go Jet Academy, always losing in races and challenges. This lead to him being willing to win at any cost, disregarding the safety of others, causing a spin-out so catastrophic that he ended up expelled from the Go Jet Academy, and quickly recruited to the Blast-Offs, to drive their “submarine” (a repurposed JetPad prototype).

Iker has an infamously short temper, and he can go off at just about anything, from small disagreements, to losing in a race, battle, or against the Go Jetters. On a rare occasion where he isn’t angry, but pleased, he boasts his delight with a yell- ‘That’s Hot!” Iker has a fear of falling, after his accident, but wouldn’t dare let anyone know, trying to maintain an image he doesn’t actually have.

NAVI

Sneaky yet strong, Navi is known as “the spy” of the Blast-Offs team. Not much is known about secretive Navi, to the point that nobody knows how she got expelled from the Go Jet Academy, or IF she was even expelled in the first place. While she doesn’t like working in teams, she seems to have made an exception for the Blast-Offs, where she works with the team, using her stealth skills to spy on the Go Jet Academy, and find out their next moves, so they can beat them to the chase, or one-up them.

Navi is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, but is also skilled in trap-making. Although she doesn’t like to speak much, she’ll always let people know when she thinks something is ruined, to tell them “it’s botched”. Navi is morbidly interested in watching the failure of others, whether it be the Go Jetters, Grandmaster Glitch, or even her own teammates…

SORA

Loud and rambunctious Sora loves an explosive good time! The “Demolitionist” of the Blast-Offs, Sora loves to build weapons of destruction, and loves to watch bombs go boom and fire crackle and burn. Expelled from the Go Jet Academy for “accidentally” blowing up an Academy G.O Dome, Sora sees the Blast-Offs as a way to show off her true potential in destroying anything she can get her hands on!

Sora gives off an energy so wild, that it scares many who know her, as she shows no regard for the consequences of what she reaps. Her joyful exposition paired with her explosive personality makes even the most rational person start to worry. When Sora watches something explode, she can always be heard making her mark, yelling a proud “Ka-BOOM!”. Sora is never seen without her trusty mallet, an easy to carry tool for little bursts of destruction.

But wait? Who’s this…?

Axel was a late recruit to the Blast-Offs team, joining months after the team was established and in-action. At the academy, he seemed to slip from people’s minds, as he never actually attended most of his classes, preferring to spend his time in solidarity, studying up on his favourite subjects, rocks, and the underwater volcano at the Go Jet Academy. Eventually, his absence caught up to him, and he was expelled from the academy, which set him off, resulting in him creating a disaster to make his feelings known. His act was caught by the Blast-Offs, who had been planning to spy on the Academy, and Zea extended an invite for Axel to join the team.

Still antisocial as ever, Axel does not take part in many of the missions, preferring to continue his studies individually. But whenever his team needs the extra numbers, or a point of interest for him is involved, Axel tags along for the ride. Axel makes his feelings very clear in every situation he gets himself into, and is blunt if he doesn’t care about something. And usually, he does not.

And with that… presenting the Blast-Offs Team !!

▪︎ REDESIGNING JETPAD (JETT)

Part two of what I intend to be my Go Jetters Re-Imagined / Redesigned series !! This time, is a redesign that allowed me to be a little more creative- JetPad !! In the show's canon, JetPad is both the name of the Go Jetters' mothership, and a sentient super-computer who helps to run the GJA, and assists Ubercorn in missions. I wanted to separate the two entities, and allow for JetPad, the sentient super-computer and CHARACTER to have more personality and storyline presence. So, she now has a holographic human form, allowing her to actually go on missions!

Similar to Ubercorn, Jett's design features a 70s and 80s Disco influence, but with Jett, I wanted her to look more professional than party. She wears an orange bustier top, and white flared bell-bottom style pants, with glittery star patches to tie her back into the Go Jetter identity. Mostly hidden, she wears a silk belt, with a star brooch. Over top, she wears what is probably my favourite clothing item of hers, a blue blazer with shoulder padding! Jett also wears orange boots, and winged glasses. All of her design elements in terms of outfit are inspired by the design of the JetPad vehicle, with the glasses emulating the large front mirror, the padded shoulders on the blazer for the large overtop vents, and even the heels resembling the two side jet boosters of the airship. I personally felt that even if the mothership and the sentient Jett were separated as entities, the latter possessing visual similarity would help to keep her recognisable as "JetPad".

I also changed her hair from my last design, giving her something more short, swoopy, and dynamic, as opposed to the rigid state of the old one. Plus- I think that this one is more visually unique. In terms of personality, she is the dead-pan, and slightly snarky foil to Ubercorn, assisting him and the Go Jetters in missions, as she is hooked up to all of the technology they own, as well as the internet. She can interact with the world around her, but people sometimes fall through her hologram body, mistaking it for real. And that's my design deep dive !!

I hope that you all like my redesign- I am SO SO SUPER PROUD of how this one turned out!! Now that I have that free time I mentioned in my last post, I hope to do the rest of the main cast, and create a full collection of these artworks!! These redesigns bring me so much joy, and I hope that you all like them just as much. Just like Ubercorn, I have made a "Funky Fact File" version of the work, to help you all get to know Jett, with the bio including my headcanons, a little bit of canon itself, and a fun alternate layout. GJ Families - Headcanon Mini-Post

I’ve wanted to do this for a while, but because I’m very busy at the moment, it’s hard to find the time to make big posts. So, I’m trying my best to be okay with making smaller, more simple posts, and this is kind of testing that format. And what better than sharing some headcanons about what I think the Go Jetters’ families are like?? It’s been a long time coming, haha.

For now, I’m only doing the Funky Five (Xuli, Kyan, Lars, Foz and Tala), but maybe in the future I’ll drop a thing or two about the others. Each character has their own little section, with a mini-Drabble about what I think their family structure is, and maybe even some little HCs about some of the members. I hope you like this layout, and feel free to ask questions ! Any rude comments will be deleted.

XULI

Xuli is adopted! She has two mothers, Alejandra and Lina, who adopted her when she was two. Additionally, she has an older brother, Sol, age 19- who is her biological brother- and a younger sister named Aurelia, age 12, who is also adopted. Xuli’s family is upper middle class, her Mum (Alejandra) working as a lawyer, and her Mama (Lina) working as a hairdresser. Xuli’s family is very loving and supporting of her endeavors, and she has her Mum’s stubborn personality and her Mama’s love for sightseeing !

KYAN

Kyan was raised in a multi-generational household, living with both his parents and his grandparents in California. His grandparents and parents are all immigrants from China, with Kyan being the first of their family to be born in the states. His Father, Mako, along with his grandparents, run a popular Chinese restaurant on a boardwalk, which Kyan used to work at as a child, while his mother, Daiyu, works as a dentist. Kyan is particularly close with his grandparents, who were very supportive of his athletic dreams in particular.

LARS

Lars grew up in the countryside, on a small farm, with his single Dad, Dominic, Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Benjamin, as well as his little sister, Juno, and his younger twin cousins, Aria and Piper. While living on the farm instilled a love of animals early, his love for machinery came from there too, watching how the different machinery there worked, and learning to fix tractors and farm gear by watching his uncle- and quickly becoming better than him at it! Lars is very close with his family, but has a specially strong bond with both his sister and cousins.

FOZ

Foz is from a richer family, and is an “age gap” kid- meaning that there’s at least 10 years between him and his siblings. He lives with his Mother and Father- the owners of a jewelry company, and an emerald mine, while his three older siblings, Stephanie (27), Andrew (23) and Austin (23), have already moved out of home to peruse their own careers. Foz isn’t particularly close with the rest of his family, having attended boarding school before the GJA, and not growing up alongside his siblings.

TALA

Tala’s family is very well off- after all, with a family history as incredible as the Glitches have, how couldn’t they be? Tala lives with her father, Gabriel Glitch - who is Grandmaster Glitch’s twin brother, and her mother, Reagan Cade-Glitch, as well as her half-brother on her mom’s side, Callum Cade, in the Glitch Estate, which has been in their family for years. Tala spend much of her time as a child in the garden, talking with the family’s gardener about new and fun plant or bug facts.

I wanted the GJ to all have different kinds of family groups, as opposed to just having “nuclear” families, because I think that it’s just boring if they’re all very similar, and different kinds of family representation is important to many people, including myself !! I’ve been super-busy at the moment, since I’ve just started uni, but for a while I have wanted to redesign how I draw the Go Jetters themselves ! And while these aren’t full on posters like I did for the adults, I wanted to still get out something that establishes the designs I will be using, so I did a few little bust shots to show off the faces and hair changes ! I hope to eventually make proper posters for all four of the GJ, but it’ll have to come at a much later date unfortunately. Hoping to post more simple art like these in the meantime !!

Also included some of my basic HCs (age, pronouns, nationality, gender identity & sexuality) as a little bonus !! If you disagree or have your own, please don’t be rude about it !! ▪︎ REDESIGNING UBERCORN ☆

What if I made an Ubercorn design?? Well, imagine no more, because I just did!! When I redesign the characters, it's always to add more detail and flair, NEVER because I hate a design. Plus, the canon outfits are a little too plain for my art style. So here's what's hopefully the first post in my new redesign series, of Ubercorn!!

I stuck mostly to Ubercorn's 70s and 80s inspired disco look, giving his jumpsuit a bit of an upgrade, making it look a little bit less like a baby's onesie. The top half resembles the canon one a little, still being white with a star pattern, but I deviated from there with a purple star button, a deep neck with a popped collar, blue diamond patches on the arms, and Rainbow sleeve cuffs. The bottom half of the suit deviates a little more from the canon suit, but I encorporated the canon suit's blue into this part, creating a blue-to-teal glittery gradient that stands out amongst the Go Jetters' solid-colour suits. His pants also have the same Rainbow cuffs, creating a bit of unity in the look.

I also tried to encorperate some more modern aesthetics into the look, to account for Ubercorn's love of high technology. I replaced his goggles with a star-shaped visor, with a purple and red gradient which pays homage to his old goggles. Additionally, I decided to give him a protective hairstyle, as in flashbacks or photographs in the episodes, we see that Ubercorn has 4C hair !! I wanted to bring that into his modern look, while still keeping a similar energy to his original hairstyle, so I chose to give him braids, which he wears half put-up, and half down! His tail is also braided, to match ! He also has a little bit of a beard because I just think it looks nice. Don't question how it works if he's covered in fur. Shh. The rest of the design is pretty much the same, with his horn receiving a slight curve, his hooves staying shiny, and giving him some cheek fluff, and earrings. His eyes are a cyan-blue, as I headcanon that Unicorns and other antro horse species to have thevprinter-ink colours as their natural eye colour options. And that's the deep dive into my design !!! ♡♡♡

I really hope that you like my redesign, I'm very proud of it!! I love to create these redesigns, and would eventually like to do the whole cast in this style. This would mean also drawing the Funky Four; Xuli, Kyan, Lars and Foz, then Grandmaster Glitch (& the Grimbots!!) and Tala. I would also love to include my design for JetPad's holographic human form, as to include her in the main group too. If I wanted to further extend it, I could also do Professor Wave, Professor Nouveau, or Finn! I will have to see how I go for time, could take a couple months until I am actually free enough to do all of this, if any. If there's enough positive reception on this, I'll have to get to work sooner !!

As a bonus, I have also made a "Funky Fact File" version, which includes some of my headcanons for Ubercorn (plus some canon stuff!!), and a fun alternate layout. Thank you for reading through this whole post!! ♡♡

An update to this post !

Part 2 to my little collection of redesigns, now including more characters! While I already have done more detailed redesigns for Ubercorn and Glitch, as well as creating a humanoid form for JetPad’s AI, I wanted to include them all in this set, with a few little changes to boot ! While Jett looks mostly the same, Glitch has no helmet, as to show off the hairstyle I gave him ! I imagine that he’s got a bald spot at the back, which he is very embarrassed about. As for Ubercorn, you may have noticed, he’s human !! I’ve wanted to design a human Ubercorn for a while, and this felt like a fun opportunity to draw one, even if it’s simple. I won’t go too far into detail, but I do wanna mention that the streaks in the hair come from @edibleartsncraftz who made a human design based off my Ubercorn redesign on instagram a while back! If you want to know other things about my personally design process for my human Ubercorn I’d be more than happy to do so in a reblog or something. And of course- Tala’s included, too! It would be a crime not to do so.

I hope you guys like this style of post ! I’d love to do a part 3 to this, maybe with some redesigns of a few background cadets, or Professor Wave & Nouveau ! And sharing more of my general doodles! I understand that not everyone likes the more simple art, but I’m so busy at the moment that I’ve gotta test these new things out and get a little more comfy with not always posting my best work.
