What if gobb plot is so fever dream-like because in-universe it's all a big game of make-believe?

In-universe a couple of kids are making up a story about their parent going on an adventure to find them. All the weird stuff happening is easily explained by it being kids going "wouldn't that be cool/fucked up if this happened". All the mascots DO exist in-universe. But in-universe they're just that: mascots for the kindergarten the kids who play this game of make-believe go to. Maybe there's a show about them. Maybe even a toy line. So the kids are taking the characters they know and inserting them into this wild ride of a story, maybe even making up more characters on the go.

The story is so wild because you know how wild a little kid's imagination can be. It's a mish-mash of all the cool things the kids who are telling this story can think of. Saturday morning cartoons. Fairy tales. Movies. The kids don't know what "cringe" is yet, so they shove in every single badass thing they want to be there. That's why the story feels so much like a fever dream.

TL,DR: Garten of BanBan is a huge game of make-believe the player's children are playing in-universe.

Hortus Infernal: "The Phenex" (Doused Mode)

With Bouncelia accidentally breaking Castor's Givanium bond, allowing them to return to true form, it also allowed them to remember what their true purpose was:

The Stolas allowed themselves to get caught on purpose, to act as a gateway to bring the whole Kindergarten's operation down from the inside, along with their siblings. The only hindrance being the unpredictable scenario of the Summoners forcing them into infant form and thus altering their memories.

Now summoned, the Phenex begins his work of "Cleansing things back to order"... Unfortunately, without much regard to any being caught in the crossfire.

Though, as a token of appreciation for leading his sibling to be freed from their bonds, so the mission given to them by "Mother" could proceed, he gives a passive warning to the Protagonist to turn back and leave...

...Until catching sight of the choker the Protagonist had gotten stuck onto their neck, after their weird encounter with a mysterious figure in the treehouse, in which he declares the Protagonist an enemy.

Despite initial impressions, it is soon revealed that the Phenex is an Angelic Being, able to use Glamor to force beings under his control, just as Bouncelia could, him inflicting it with his voice. He also is able to easily command and call the Naughty Ones to him, either to control... or leading them to be drawn into the furnace within his rib cage, incinerating them and sending the souls back into the cycle of reincarnation, while drawing power from doing so.

As Flynn later explains to the Protagonist, the only reason they're not all dead right now, is due to a punishment the Phenex at gotten at one point of his life, for a crime Flynn doesn't feel the Protagonist is enlightened enough to have an intelligent discussion about to even mention what it was, meaning him emerging onto Earth will temporarily douse his flames and weaken him, until he can power back up the furnace inside his chest and reignite himself.

Which he will do eventually. And then they're all gonna die. And it's absolutely YOUR fault, Protagonist, you should feel bad.

Not being a part of the Kindergarten's mascot plans, and with no smart demon giving out their True Names, the Phenex has no given name, just being called "The Phenex" by Flynn, "Sir Dadadoo" by the Jester (Sarcastically, as to make fun of his signing habit), "The Bird" by Banban...

The Protagonist eventually starts mentally referring to them as "Pollux", with them being "Castor's" sibling.

ok if they ever do make Athena Cykes: Ace Attorney, or even better her own trilogy (GOBB LET THIS BE WHAT HAPPENS), there HAS to be a backstory case showing when Athena met Phoenix. she keeps talking in Dual Destinies about how Phoenix helped her out of trouble once and how he convinced her to follow law as a profession in order to help Simon, and all thats stuff and GOD does that sound like it has so much potential for a really emotional journey, and a GREAT way to develop Athena's character past what we've been shown already of hers!!! ID LOVE IT if this happened.

like sure, by necessity it would be yet another case where you play as Phoenix with Athena at most as an assistant, but if its an Athena-focused game where most other cases you play as her, the one backstory case not being played as her wouldn't feel so bad i dont think. specially if its entirely focused on her and her troubles and stuff

She tries to bring you food, but the place has been abandoned for quite some time, so not much of the stuff she brings you is edible.

Sometimes, she tries to bring you a dead Captain Fiddles to eat.

BitterGiggle

You giggled at his joke one time, and that was all it took for him to get completely attached.

He's very overprotective of you. You're not allowed to interact with any of the other mascots (they are bad influences)

Well, except Kittysaurus, that's the family pet.

Sheriff Toadster

He has deemed BitterGiggle as an unfit parent and has therefore taken you out of his custody.

He definitely calls you "lil' tadpole"

He feels like the kinda dad to take you fishing with him, but there are no places to fish.

He and Queen Bouncelia co-parent you.

Queen Bouncelia

Best mother ever

Mommy issues be gone!!!!

She makes a mini throne for you to sit next to her.

She absolutely adores you.

The walls are filled with the drawings you make for her.

I'm not gonna do the rests of the characters because I don't think they can actually parent and syringyon hasn't gotten any canon characterization.

More GOBB rewrite concepts/headcanons (Outdated)

Changes made within this rewrite so far, Queen bouncelia, Tarta and Opila have new names (i still call by their original names here to avoid confusion but in the rewrite they're named Queen Belladona (Bouncelia), Turquoise (Tarta), and Opal (Opila)

There are four scientists (so far) that look over the facility/experiments: Uthman Adam, Claire Roberts, Fran Robin and Ophelia Johnson. Uthman was the one who started all this

Everyone's maturity levels from most mature to least mature ("Most Mature" meaning that despite being childlike for the children they have the capacity to act like an adult when needed): Queen bouncelia, Tarta bird, Opila bird, Stinger Flynn, Sheriff toadster, Banbaleena, Nabnaleena, Nabnab, Banban Slow seline, Bittergiggle, the Bitterclones Jumbo josh, Captain fiddles. the opila chicks

Banban was Uthman's first experiment and he treated Banban like his own son.

Stinger Flynn used to sing and secretly enjoys fairytale stories

while Stinger Flynn and Sheriff Toadster act more mature than the rest, (Toadster because of his role and Flynn because of trauma) They're always encouraged to play and be just as childish as the rest of them

The experiments weren't made with malicous intent, they were made to test out the effects of givianium (which in my au is mutated human DNA and there aren't whole tanks of this stuff, maybe a drawer of syringes instead) and they decided to make them the mascots of their facility
