In love with the idea of captain marvel being Billy's imaginary friend. Like, it'd be so easy. Early depictions had them as almost fully separate people sometimes, like one soul with two minds, rather than just two filters like we mostly see now.
But imagine a Billy down on his luck, hurt and hiding from police and criminals alike, daydreaming the hours away as children do, taking inspiration from all the superheroes rising to fame, making little stories to play out his dreams of saving the world with a generic action doll he found while dumpster diving once. Most of the paint's rubbed off.
Red's his favourite colour, his comfiest jumper is a bright ruby even after all the grime and washes. Gold, too, it's shiny and warmer than silver! A hero cape is a must, big and eye catching! And he can fly, of course, like superman, and in his daydreams, when he's sore and frustrated after a long day's grind, his superhero is smart enough and knows all the right words to get the bullies to stop without resorting to fighting.
His superhero fantasy is one he spends a lot of time on, the first one he goes for when struggling to sleep at night, and he can picture it so clearly. Captain marvel is big and bright and kind, strong enough to lift the boxes for the old lady up the road who's moving all by himself, fast enough to catch Jamie who fell out of the tree on Saturday and broke his leg and couldn't come to class for weeks. He appears at the entrance to alleys when Billy is cornered, he steps up behind to cover for him when he gets caught shoplifting, he sits at the bus stop with him when it's pouring rain and the right bus doesn't seem to be coming.
And then the wizard comes, or rather whisks him away, and like a magician from a fairytale breathes life into his imaginary friend until Billy feels thrice his size and a million times more invincible.
From then on, captain marvel is a real hero, just like Billy is a real boy, and as one they save the whole city, and then the whole world, and get cats down from trees and help Mrs Victoria move the last of her boxes and she gives them a pinch in the cheek and cookies for the road and sometimes it hurts but it's so much better than he imagined.

Y'all, I'm not gonna lie. The comments, love, and reblogs I've received for my most recent Captain fic have me on the verge of tears. (No, I'm actually crying. Omg)
Captain MacTavish is incredibly difficult for me to write. I attribute that to the fact that he's been in my head for 15 years and to convey my interpretation of him from my mind to the screen involves a skill I've only begun to grasp.
Literally me gushing to my moots under the cut because I can't hug all of you
@greatstormcat @esteljune @soapsgf I swear, I want to kiss you all on the forehead for your kind words. And to unlock something, that's a compliment that requires a bear hug. Love you all. 💛
@crashandlivewrites your tags had me howling. I will never write either Soap without a running mouth. (Even if he does have a rubber cock in the ass) Legendary hug. Love you 💛
@efingcod yeah, no, this didn't just shatter me completely. Not at all. (falls to the floor) Comments like these from a mutual who I consider to be a friend mean more to me than you'll ever know. Thank you, E. Love you 💛
@valkyri from one long-time Captain MacTavish lover to another, this means the world. I wanted to convey a more erotic atmosphere between the two and tail back a bit on the overall smut. And if I interpret this correctly, I was successful. Thank you, darlin. Love you 💛
@crashtestbunny don't tempt me. I just might 😈💛
@astraluminaaa @devcica @homicidal-slvt @shotmrmiller @glitterypirateduck I swear, I write just for you. Y'all never fail me, and I'd give you the moon if I could. 🌕💛

I understand that this is a very particular kink and that it is not shared with everyone, and I'm okay with that. To those who have reblogged, liked, and commented, from my very core, I give you my heart. I know I'm not like the more eloquent writers within this fandom, but this fic has been sitting in my head for years. All it took was International Women's Day and @glossysoap to will it into existence.
Thank you all for your love and support.
Happy Super Soap Sunday. And as always...
Stay Thirsty Soap Sqaud 🧼

man I'm just gonna say that it's incredibly fucking weird to walk onto a stranger's blog, project your own predatory age headcanons onto a character with no canon age, and then decide that means the blogger condones it.
like?? my dude?? the only person talking about that is you because it's your headcanon?
"you're bad because I think of this ageless character as a 30yo being paired with a teen" well I sure goddamn don't and I didn't need to hear that shit! it's not only extremely inappropriate, it's creepy as fuck! so like, maybe do some self-reflecting on why you decided that a stranger should abide by your headcanon, and maybe also stop doing that.

if any of you are still feeling weird about that infamous interview, here is what alex said about it (and why that ashley girl doesn't like him). i really want to point out that what alex says here is the exact same thing us, miles fans have been saying since forever. so, if you are a fan of alex, but throw shit at miles, just remember that your favourite also supports him. and maybe think twice before starting arguments with miles fans and keep in mind that alex has the same opinion about it all.
Alongside Arctic Monkeys, Turner has a long-term side-project called The Last Shadow Puppets with his best friend, the Birkenhead singer-songwriter Miles Kane. During the promotion for their last album, the two did an interview with a female journalist from the music webzine Spin. Turner was being his usual unforthcoming self, so Kane attempted to break the ice with some groan-inducing banter. This included inviting the journalist up to his hotel room when she asked what he was doing after the interview, which, in hindsight, was pretty stupid (he realised as much the next day and emailed her to say sorry). The result, though, was a lengthy op-ed calling out Kane’s unprofessionalism and the misogyny of the music industry at large. Personally, I found some of her complaints against him a tad flimsy — holding eye contact for too long, high-fiving her, “yanking” her in “for a not entirely consensual kiss on the cheek” as she said goodbye, and not least the idea that interviewing a rock star is ever supposed to be an exercise in professionalism.
What did Turner make of it all?
He sighs. “I think he made a joke he shouldn’t have made and realised he had misjudged the situation.”
I thought it was a bit OTT, I tell him.
“Yeah, I’m not sure it was deserving of that response honestly, but you just can’t make a joke like that.”
(from 2018, this interview)

if you think that being pissed gives you permission to make it everyone else's problem (yelling at people, throwing things in shared spaces, damaging shared resources by handling them too roughly, etc.) then you better believe it gives those people permission to not be nice to you in turn

i promise u the IRS is not out to get you as badly as u’ve been told ur entire life. the IRS does not in fact magically know the exact amount of money that every one of the 330 million citizens of the United States owes every year while accounting for local tax laws and if u happen to get something wrong on accident they arent going to send u to jail, just send u a notice saying ‘hey we checked the math and u actually owe us this much’. literally unless you are very obviously intentionally trying to get out of paying thousands of dollars in taxes they legally cant give you more than a polite correction. if u realized u messed up you can send an amendment with ur correction. they get it. people make mistakes and taxes are convoluted.
i know its a real big shocker but u probably shouldnt believe everything u hear from big wealthy capitalists about how the ppl in charge of taxes are only there 2 drain all the money u have and any slight error will ruin ur life when generally by ‘slight error’ they mean ‘they fined me when i tried to write off my golden swimming pool in my penthouse as a business expense’. not to say that the irs can do no wrong but unless ur just blatantly trying to get out of paying ur taxes u probably dont have to worry about getting fined or sent to prison if u accidentally fill in a few boxes wrong on ur tax returns

zhao and ik finally come back and lucifer js loses all sense of formality and literally runs and hugs them SO tightly. they r all sleeping in one bed tonight u can’t stop him. they will have scheduled family activities sometime 😤 lucifer is basically like a dejected bird on the floor when they’re gone u have to understand. he’s a dad to a little child. ik will always be his little child. he’s insane.
(nightbringer lucifer saw the ring of light and he takes like an entire hour just to work again bc HE GOT MARRIED???? but damn nb luci is gonna be real sad when ik and zhao leave)
he would deflate into an exhausted sort of puddle for at least one week, if not longer, and the image it has conjured up is so vivid that i need to draw him being pathetic and sad now hang on
satan can't even make fun of him for it because he just feels bad for his incredibly stressed big brother. meanwhile lucifer calls in every single sick day he's ignored over the years in a row and WILL be in the same room as his husband and/or child at any given moment
i feel like zhao would've tried to hide the whole thing with the ring of light, but lucifer KNOWS that that's the wedding ring finger, and he most certainly knows the ring of light when he sees it. it'd be funny if he assumes at first that it's michael who apparently proposed to a human, since as far as he knows that's where the ring was
also ouuu... exchanging one sad miserable lucifer for another one. there's no coming out of this nightbringer situation with all parties happy... awfully cruel for nb lucifer to put zhao and ik in his life, knowing he'd never want to let go, but forcing him to do so anyway
