how i feel about this character: i love him sooo much he's so funny [affectionate] [recognition of self]. needless to say it he is just like me fr fr [autism]

romantic ships: i haven't gotten to a ship for him i'm crazy about. i want him to be with someone who actually likes him and who he can be himself around and communicate with and so far the manga hasn't given me that.

platonic relationships: i think whatever kind of working relationship he has with chilchuck is hilarious. i think once all is said & done they should be friends. i also love the brother & sister-in-law relationship between him and marcille.

unpopular opinion: he is not genuinely a case of a character who can do no wrong like he definitely does and says things he shouldn't and people acting like he can't ever know what's right n wrong bc he's autistic are very very :/

how i feel about this character: i feel so much sadness for her. she comes back but she's not really allowed to enjoy reuiniting with her friends and when i think about all the heavyness she'd probably feel at knowing about marcille used illegal magic to restore her? makes me sick (positive) holy shit

My reading is guilt-free 😌 I do noy feel guilty about enjoying books purely for entertainment! The Vorkosigan saga is the series I go for when I'm in the mood for pure fun. It's a space opera of highest quality! I'm in my second read-through and I'm enjoying it immensely.

Arwen: First impression It was the 2001 film so I thought she was cool, then was immediately confused when she didn't get any further moments like that in the other films. Just finished this book for the first time almost two weeks ago. I loved the style, how it focused on lovingly painting a picture of the people and their lives. All of it was maddening, of course

First impression I did at first get a kind of fatphobic vibe from his design and thought oh great, here we go again.

Impression now I still do think there's some fatphobia in his design, but I also think he's a very interesting and complex character. I want to replay the game again so I can get a better grip on what's going on with him.

Favorite moment I think the first interaction you have with him is great. The uncomfortable chair he insists you sit in that can kill you. The amount of embarrassment in that scene is just so good.

Idea for a story Hmm... I haven't really had a lot of ideas for Disco Elysium stories in general. Just the one... though I suppose the X-Files AU that lives in my brain rent-free would have him show up, though what role he would play in that AU is beyond me. An unhelpful witness, maybe.

Unpopular opinion I'm not really sure what popular vs unpopular opinions are in the fandom because I don't interact with it much. Any time you point out fatphobia tends to be unpopular though, so...

Favorite relationship Not sure I have one. I think it's interesting to think about him having gone to school with Easy Leo though! Gotta wonder what that was like.

Favorite headcanon I know it's unlikely but the only headcanon I had for him while playing the game was that his brother was fake. Like he's playing an elaborate joke on everyone or something. I know Edgar is real but that tends to be my go-to when it comes to characters mentioned but unseen.

I love visiting contemporary art museums, to take a slow stroll through it and look at all the pieces. Only problem is that they tend to be on the expensive end for museum tickets, so it's not a frequent treat for me....

Contemporary art, just like art from any other time period, is incredibly varied and there's lots to explore. I don't like all of it, of course, but I'm very peeved when people swipe it all under the rug for being "boring" or "nonsense" or whatever else they call it, and thereby demonstrating that they simply haven't taken other than a surface look at any contemporary art.

I have seen a couple of exhibitions that make me go "humph, this is stupid!" and leave, while other exhibitions stay with me for a while. I can never tell which it's going to be in advance! (Last time I went to a contemporary art museum, my experience was very much clouded by the very expensive ticket I had to buy to see it. Which is unfair to the art! But it be like that sometimes).

As you can tell by the answer, my preferred way of experiencing art is through museums :) I like to see the piece in the flesh, to be able to look at it from different angles and better gauge its size, and also to have the "mindset" that comes from actively choosing to go to a museum specifically to look at art - in contrast to, say, looking at pictures on my laptop.

First ship: I really can't remember the first one, but one of the firsts was Holmes/Watson. I started reading the novels before I watched the series/movies, and all I remember thinking was "they are so nice together, I want them to stay that way"

Last song: Patient is the Night by the Blasting Company. I'm listening to the soundtrack of Over the Garden Wall again.

Currently reading: The Pinhoe Egg by Diana Wynne Jones. I'm really enjoying the Chrestomanci series. This is the last novel before I start the short stories which makes me a bit sad but I can't stop reading it.

Last movie: Robot Dreams. I liked it and I heard it was well received in my country. It makes me happy to see so many adults finding an animated movie they can relate to! Animation is still seen as children entertainment here, so it makes me hopeful when I see people realising you can tell different types of stories using the medium.
