🔥 on fanfiction as a whole, let's go
hmmmm i see this come up a lot but honestly i think "mass-banning any theoretically icky subject matter" would do ultimately more harm than good.
like take non-con, for probably one of the tamer examples. maybe the author of that fic really is just getting off on it. or maybe they're working through trauma. maybe they're attempting to address the issue seriously but their technical skills aren't quite there yet. maybe they're a teenager writing fucked up shit because life is so scary and this lets them conceptualize that fear (god knows I did). anyways at the end of the day the only way you as a reader can know the difference is demanding other people divulge their personal traumas to internet strangers which is, not cool dude.

this one was hard!! i actually found two songs, and i just couldn't choose between the two. there's BLACK GOLD by otetsu, and 限りなく灰色へ (Infinitely Gray or Close to Gray) by surii! These songs are wildly different but I love them both <33

Hi, I hope its okay to ask you a question on the ship translation post. I totally agree with you and understand your boundaries, to be clear! But I'm a bit confused on your suggestion to "make your own posts for it" about ship interpretation. How should somebody go about crediting you for a translation in that case? Because my first instinct would be to @ you as credit, but that would just result in you still getting notifications for it, which kind of defeats the point. Hope this question is okay! ^^

I think, speaking for myself, it's okay to say something like "translation from @/ginjithewanderer" or something similar so that the username is there but without a direct @ to get notified of? Or even something like "translation from ginjithewanderer," linking back to a translator's blog or the specific translation post, but again, not notifying them that the mention was made. I hope this makes sense and helps?

As for Belial. I won't kill you because unfortunately, as i can't shut up about him, this is a very reasonable conclusion to have. I do hope actually that i read his character correctly considering a lot of my analysis of him is "he's lying here, here, and here, and on this part where he says he's lying i think he says the truth". If still with those hoops i end up being an authority over him.... Then at least it's a great compliment as it would mean my overreading isn't failing me.

u know that joke about fanfics revealing things the writers wouldn't admit under waterboarding. not like i'm doing something like that on purpose it just feels mildly embarrassing to be Percieved tm.
🤔 What is the hardest part of writing fic?
for fanfic SPECIFICALLY it's keeping a consistent update schedule. which i don't 😭. also jumping from one half-finished idea to a shiny new one which is why i prefer one-shots over longer fics 😔✌.
