Anakin Skywalker

Revenge of the Sith

He's done! Anakin is done!
It's so far from perfect and I forgot so much of how these paints work but it's done and he's beautiful and I'm so happy!
In April I was having such a hard time and I met Hayden at a convention and I was so sad at the time that I didn't have my own work for him to sign, something special.
Between that feeling and friends pestering, I finally started making art again, and a few months ago I thought if I could sell art at conventions, I would need a kick ass backdrop, and started painting this.
I'm gonna still need to make a lightbox, but this alone makes me so so so happy.
He's beautiful.
Now I just need to find some wealthy patron to pay for me to just paint these all day long as I shall be quite happy.

Gimli, Son of Gloin
The Lord of the Rings

Finally starting in on Middle Earth. It wasn't easy and I have a lot of discarded attempts, discarded colour palettes, discarded ideas.
I love Middle Earth and especially the Middle Earth that Peter Jackson and all the amazing artists at Weta created, so I wanted to get it right, but oh man, was it hard. I took some chances I would have otherwise and maybe in the future I shall think differently, but for now I am quite happy with my choices.

Vox Machina
I'm done. Holy shit y'all I'm fucking done (barring Tary and the several NPCs I wanna do)
Made all seven of these while going through the campaign and I just finished the campaign a few days ago and I'm in that mourning phase that I don't get anymore story with these characters who I couldn't help but come to love with all their strengths and weaknesses.
The prints look so amazing side by side. I'm happy that I got to make all these while the inspiration lasted.
Now watch me go back and just watch through campaign 1 again instead of campaign 2 because I'm I am going to miss these characters too much. I know campaign 2 is super beloved and I'm sure I'll get there eventually, but for now.. I mourn.. and admire these prints on my wall.
Also, to the random person in my tiktok comments when they saw me watching ep 4 in the background of a video while painting Anakin. That I would love Vax and Percy the most because it would be similar to Anakin and I laughed it off... you were half right, because Vax is so Anakin coded in the ways I adore Anakin and it was fate I was going to love Vax and adore him and all his rights and wrongs.

The Forsaken
Darth Maul
This piece was an interesting one. Maul spans so many pieces of media with different designs and different moments that it was hard to choose one.
I ended up with a loose interpretation of Rebels Maul (I gave up trying to figure out his forearms markings, saw one image of him with bandages there and rolled with it.) I originally tried mixes Republic and Rebillion era styles but the Republic era background style was wwwaaayyy too busy with his marking and he got lost so I tried the rebellion era space streaks and they turned out far superior. I'm actually quite happy with where this ended up. I like adding a lot of Obiwan because this dude has the biggest one-sided beef in all of Star Wars.
I hope Maul fans will accept this humble offering.
Hopefully I get some prints done and can get it up in my shop asap.

Mara Jade Skywalker
Star Wars Legends
I'm emerging from my Star Wars art block to draw my queen, the most badass, the woman so out of Luke's league but he somehow still managed to land her, the perfection that is Mara Jade.
I love her with my whole heart you guys. Always have, always will. She's one of the reasons Legends is my Star Wars in my heart of hearts.
She isn't canon anymore and New Republic is an era I haven't touched yet so I struggled. I struggled with colour palette. I struggled with background. I struggled with corners. All of it. So finally I said fuck it, let's just have some fun and this came out.

Critical Role
The love I feel for this half-elf is immense
I had so much fun making this. I had fun with his armour and getting the right face to match with Vex and the physical print is so insanely gorgeous. Like this is one of my top favourites for physical prints.
Also side note, in my personal taste, Vax is so Anakin coded and I cannot help but love him. It was fated. Resistance was futile.

I'm on a CR ride at the moment and I just knew I wanted to make Vex, partially because every time I thought of making the print, I heard Chungha's song Snapping in my head and that definitely shaped this print a bit.
This print proved harder to stay away from spoilers when googling certain things, but alas, I could only stay in the dark so long.
I love the way Laura acts Vex and I hope I get to tell her that one day

Critical Role
I made Percy a Bridgerton Boy, and I have no regrets.
His TLoVM design is the one I.. struggled with the most so he definitely has the most changes. There was also so many character with blue based colour palettes that I needed some red in there somewhere.
I also couldn't for the life of me get his great hair to look at all reasonable so he got the forehead curl and I'm living with that choice.
I'm excited to see how he looks as a physical print.

I had no intention of making anything anything Critical Role for a while (as of posting this, I'm only on ep 30 of the first campaign) but I came across a particular window in a chapel when looking for inspiration for a different series and I fell in love with the design and new Critical Role was right for it.
I don't actually know the significance of 2/3 of the symbols at the bottoms yet. I like to include things that are important to them but I don't know any outside like, the very obvious feather. Bless the Tumblr users who give me ideas and I just hope I made them accurate. The one symbol I added for my own desire was thr acorn. I love how Keyleth fights to protect every person she sees. I love that she so fiercely fights for life and hope and that's what acorns sometimes represent as well as her connection to nature as a druid.
I adore her. I had a lot of fun making this this the blank space in the corners gave me such a headache but I'm rolling with what I got. I hope one day Marisha guests at a convention I'm attending so I can get her to sign a print.
