Oki oki oki I realized y’all are not gonna see eclipse pretty much at all throughout the story so I figure
Eh, hab some exceedingly large guy content
I might talk about all the lil bits of what he is later, but biggest thing is is that he’s a chimaera shark. The artist formally known as the ghost shark. There’s a lil frilled shark, lil sea dragon, some lore stuff…

Finished your latest chapter, and I was at rge ended if my seat from beginning to end. Amazing!
And at the end of the chapter I thought of an inquiry:
What if y/n is a hunter/fisherman instead of a photographer? How would they have met, and what would the dynamics be like? Would they bring each other kills to give to the other to show off? Or in Eclipse's case, courting gifts? Still would figure y/n wouldn't realize what Eclipse is actually doing.
Oh, man, I just flashbacked to Fisher Y/N from Deep Waves but for an AP fisher? They'd be a bit disgruntled and grumpy. Very hard working, set on the task and won't stop until it's done. They've got a shell that rivals crabs. Very gruff but has a heart hidden somewhere under all those brusque layers.
Of course, you're spooked when Eclipse pops his head up (he's a lot more terrifying, not trusting humans on their boats with their harpoons.) Still, once he sees that you're alone and also, well, pretty, he tones it back a bit to actually talk to you while still dangling you halfway off your boat above the icy cold of the sea. You manage to yell at the siren to put you back. While Eclipse does so, he promises to bring you fine fish, the best of the best. You wave him off like "Yeah, yeah, as long as you don't ruin my nets and don't kill me."
The next day, he's got a fat catch. You thought you got rid of him, but like a stray cat that's been fed once, he's back. If he can chat, he can help you push the nets onto your boat so the fish don't flop out and get away. You might pick one cod out (the best one but you would rather die before admitting so) and toss it to Eclipse for his lunch, as thanks, or something like that. Eclipse would beam at the exchange of gifts so soon but you're too busy trying to not slip on the half-frozen, half-wet deck to notice.
You know sirens are bad news, but you have the mindset of 'Eclipse hasn't killed me yet, and there's work to be done, so I better hop to it.' That kind of attitude, however, is what gets you into Eclipse's mandated cuddle sessions as he decides you've been working too long and require a break. Guess who is getting yanked across the deck, forcibly cradled, and persuaded to take a twenty-minute break by a large, touchy siren? You, of course!
It's unusual to endure this kind of attention (and maybe you thought no one would touch you like this, make you feel like you're not just a ghost on the sea.) You put your shoulder to the wheel and get the catch while navigating Eclipse's hands of avarice.
You learn quickly that there's no use trying to get out of his arms once he has you. You also learn that he likes seals, but you try to catch squid and even, once or twice, small sharks for him to snatch on. He returns the favor with a bounty of fish and even guides you to better fishing spots. He's always eager to hand you the fish he catches to you personally. You don't think too much of it when you take it in your gloved hands and his grin widens. (You think he looks infatuated whenever you stumble upon an old seashell or half-plucked feathers or shiny, chipped scales and figure he might think it's pretty, but you don't take it to heart—he probably just likes trinkets.)
One day, when the sea is calm and the fish are nowhere to be found, Eclipse decides you are due for a break. You both lounge on the deck of your smelly boat. You don't even push away Eclipse's hands while precious work minutes slip by, resting your head on his chest to his great pleasure. Eclipse manages to coax a few confesses from your lips with a few slippery musical notes in his voice. You really don't know why you start rambling like this, like a fool. You tell him you don't have anybody, but nobody has you. Sometimes, you don't feel like a person because the only time you talk to another human being is when business over the fish is conducted. You're so used to not having anyone to talk to that when you talk to Eclipse, your voice becomes hoarse and dry, but you don't mind. You don't mind at all, lately.
He tells you in that way of his that is as true as the sun and moon that he has you. You don't believe him, but you pull out a little... gift you've been quietly crafting for the past while you've known him.
Now is as good as ever to give him a simple piece of jewelry you made with a cord and yet another seashell that's so old and pale pink that no one will notice or care for it, but he takes it from you with awe. He ties it around his wrist and shows you how pretty it looks against his black and white markings. He says you need to strengthen your voice. You need to talk to him more. He will listen, and he will listen when you sing, too. The mere thought of you singing of all things jars you enough to finally pull you out of this fancy and get you back on your feet, scouring the sea for fish to catch.
Eclipse is still wearing the seashell when he drops back into the water, and he doesn't let you out of his sights on the sea. You're left to wonder if you're a fool for giving a siren a gift or for feeling pleased that he wears it so proudly.

For story building reasons, can Eevees evolve into anything other than the canon eeveelutions?
for each biome that require special things to survive, eevee's can evolve to a form that best suits it.
deep ocean water vaporeon that look shark like, swampy ground/water types, fresh water swimmers in powerful rapids who are sleek and faster than most, stagnant ponds with grass/water typing and brown tones to disappear easier.
Umbreon based on lunar cycle, notoriously difficult to find Solar eclipse variants who are able to turn into shadows.
Ghost types for those who hang around graves or areas with a lot of human energy left over, hospitals, places of worship, abandoned buildings, creepy tunnels no one goes down.
Grass types have huge range, some suited for the cold tundra, others tropical beaches, and everything in between.
some adapt to the desert, ground types with burrowing skills to dodge the vicious winds.
altitude can also effect evolution, some only change form at great elevation.
Basically this blog runs on the assumption that every environment type will have a speciality eeveelution, either a variant of a pre-existing one, or a new one all together.

POV: third person limited, alternating between two main characters
Setting: one character is in Connecticut, the other is in California
Summary:
The first time Sky saw a ghost, he cried.
SKY never imagine that he would be back in high school; sure, he never technically graduated, but nobody really knew that besides the family he had long left behind. But the ghost who’s been following him around since August keeps demanding he help her move on, and all signs point to Fenwick Academy .
The good news is that he’s already pretty sure he’s found his answer. Isaac Cardoso wears a shark tooth on his bracelet that looks exactly like the one hanging on his ghost’s neck.
The bad news is that Isaac seems to have the most overprotective friends in the world
The first time Naomi saw a ghost was also the last time she truly felt anything.
NAOMI is ready to graduate. Everyone’s mad at her for dumping her perfect boyfriend, her parents are on the edge of divorce, and the ghosts in her school are getting more and more insistent. She’s not sure what’s going on over there, but whatever it is, it’s not good; and she plans to be long gone before she can find out more specifics.
The good news is she’s an expert at ignoring them. Ghosts attach to emotional energy; so long as you don’t let out emotional energy, there’s nothing for them to cling to.
The bad news is that the new girl at school is apparently determined to make her feel things.
In the darkness, where no mortal eye can see, something stirs.
The two are miles and miles apart, but they are tied together on a cosmic level; if one fails, the other will as well.
Imagine trying to survive that and high school.

GREETINGS, FELLOW SPLATOWEEN ENTHUSIASTS.
On behalf of our organisation committee, and our numerous sponsors, I heartily thank you for your presence at this event.
This is a Splatoween that will completely eclipse ALL previous Splatoweens in history - without a doubt - thanks to all of you. I have discussed with the administration - and they’re without a doubt
Now, I will take a few minutes to discuss something serious with you.
*ahem*
When we mentioned organizing a Splatoween party - especially without the backing of the Splatfest organization, we had a hard time figuring things out. We worked ourselves to the bone to bring this party alive.
People said that we were fools with delusions of grandeur when we said that we’d manage to get a crowd this big - and now, look at this!
This is beyond our wildest expectations!

What I wanted to say is that, despite its “scary” imagery pushed by our capitalist entertainment industry, Splatoween isn’t about getting spooked. It’s not about revenge-filled ghosts coming to get you, or about creepy creatures hiding under your bed.
It’s about being together, celebrating and sharing candy and stories.
Planning costumes with your buddies, looking at the optimal trick-or-treating routes, gathering around a campfire to tell yourself silly folk tales.
No matter your background - Inkling, Octoling, Octarian, Salmonid, Manta, Jellyfish, Crab, Shrimp, Fish, Shark, Cyborg, Artificial Intelligence, Cat, B....Bear...you came here with a single goal in mind - to have a good time, and we’re happy to assist you.
Thanks. For proving that we weren’t fools at all - that we were right.
That we would be able to capture this child-like inspiration with this event.

Do you or Muffin have any thoughts on the twilight soundtrack? It's usually the one aspect of the movies that gets praised
I unfortunately have Full Moon by The Black Ghosts on my Spotify top 100 of 2021, so I can't claim it didn't have bangers.
My general opinion on the songs, as songs, is that some are good and a few are full on great. I have esoteric taste and a lot of the songs aren't my style, though. But, the soundtrack did suit the atmosphere the films were going for, so kudos for that.
But I am a difficult person.
I don't think it's the soundtrack of the gods, not necessarily because the songs themselves are lacking, but because it never really makes a scene unforgettable. There are no moments like the "Immigrant Song" moment in Thor: Ragnarok, or "To Die For" in Lion King (sorry about the audio quality in this clip! But it is a great example, since we have the live action version to contrast with, and that version toned down the music as much as possible. The result was so very mediocre, and really highlighted how vital the music was to the stampede scene). Nothing like the shark theme from Jaws, or the ET bicycle scene, or the montage in Rocky. The songs are there, and... well, with the exception of the baseball scene (which, one scene in five films is... not good), they're never more than that.
Watching Victoria be chased in New Moon to a catchy soundtrack (I think "Hearing Damage"?) makes for a good bop, and it definitely made the scene better, but... I'm difficult enough that I still find it all to be rather "meh", because the film as a whole had failed to be engaging, and so a good tune can only do so much, just as "Immigrant Song" wouldn't have made for an iconic scene if it had played in the Breaking Dawn Part 2 battle.
Much of the soundtrack is great, but when the movies themselves are so mediocre, we'll never reach the zenith. There's just never a scene where I'm losing my mind because I'm so taken in with what's happening.
The other problem I have with the soundtrack is that I think Twilight in the long run was worse off for not having its own composer. I've mentioned this on the blog before - basically, by having different directors, different styles, different everything, from movie to movie, there's no internal consistency. The actors stay the same, at least, but even then their costumes, makeup, and hair change and the characterization changes. Compare the gloomy, kind of awkward, human-looking Edward of Twilight to the jokey, suave, and more inhuman looking Edward of Eclipse.
I think a soundtrack with reoccurring themes and leitmotifs would have gone a long ways towards giving the movies a brand, something recognizable that made the audience feel "this is Twilight" the way "Hedwig's Theme" and "The Imperial March" makes their respective franchises feel like Harry Potter and Star Wars. Look to how Lord of the Rings and Star Wars uses music to communicate with the audience, and then look to how Twilight-- doesn't. Well, apart from the obligatory one Muse song per film, but that's a nod to Muse, not the producers thinking "Let's give these films a feeling of consistency".
For the first film I understand the choice made, as it was the kind of indie film where indie music felt organic to go along with it. And the other films then had to follow suit, I get that. But this is a failing on behalf of planning the series, that the producers did not think "There will be more movies and we should have reoccurring musical themes to bring it together".
Of course, I say all of this, but I would still have made merciless fun of them because they would still have been bad movies. And the angsty sountrack does feel incredibly on brand, so my gripe is on a deeper level about me wanting the films to have been different from the get-go.
In a nutshell - I have complaints, but am impossible to please.

You met Kyoya when you both were around twelve years old
Your respective fathers had reached a long-lasting stalemate in their efforts to merge their companies in a way that was satisfying to both sides. And this was a last ditch effort to successfully complete the deal crucial to your father’s company in particular
Your parents were reluctant, as you were their only child. But, cautiously decided to go through with it after you gave your (albeit, slightly uninformed) consent
It was a dinner for yours and the Ootori families alone. One to finalize the deal. One to introduce the young future “lovers”
You sat across the table from one another, exchanging glances of matching intensity and analytical intent
You knew next to nothing about the quiet boy in front of you. But, you did know that he, just like you, were used to being the smartest person in the room. And, if not the smartest, the most observant
Your first words at that dinner never went beyond greetings and farewells. Very suffocatingly cordial for what was supposed to be two young and bright kids brought together for what their parents described as the “greater good”
Make no mistake, you both knew that this arrangement held more benefits than a successful business deal
But, something about your future husband made you want to intellectually step on his neck (Lovingly of course ❤️😚🔪). And it was the same sentiment vice versa
Up until you and Ootori (The name you insisted on using to address him) started attending the same school, neither of you could pinpoint why the competitive tension between you two was so strong
But, you and Ootori do figure it out eventually, through learning about each other’s pasts
I’ll put it like this:
Unlike Ootori, your gifts were never overshadowed by well-off or talented family members. Though praise wasn’t a frequent thing either. You were always subconsciously told to improve though. Through that, you were almost always the one on top. And you knew it. You liked it there, sure, but you were never complacent. You wouldn’t be caught dead being surpassed because you didn’t bother to try
You were the monarch, and you stayed that way through working, soaring to higher levels than your adversaries could ever imagine
Kyoya, being the eclipsed moon to virtually everyone’s sun, had to learn how to flourish in the background. He knew that a lot of the time, he was the most capable person in the room, but other people didn’t recognize that. So, he had to make his mark through craftier methods
He was the one with his sights set on your throne. The only one able to conquer it. And you knew that
In summary your relationship is a constant back and forth between Kyoya using his silent cunning to surpass you, and you reclaiming your place with pure drive and spite. You were the one he wanted to overthrow, and he was the assassin you wanted to outsmart
“Hm, I wouldn’t have expected the fleeting top student to score so far below me. I suppose this is part of another big plan, Ootori?”
“Well, L/N, I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that the class average is unusually higher than normal. You’ll have to work a little harder next time to maintain your far lead won’t you?”

“That’s the third time you’ve eaten lunch with the Tsuin sisters this week L/N. I didn’t know you were looking for new friends.”
“Networking is never a bad thing Ootori. I got their parents’ company to invest in our fathers’ partnership in less than a week. But sure, call it ‘looking for new friends’.“

The thought of becoming personally involved outside of social performances never left your minds. But, the lack of cooperation between you deemed the option unnecessary
You and Kyoya were still strictly rivals when you both met Tamaki Suoh
You, for one, never quite understood Tamaki and his motives. Especially when he proposed an idea he had for what he called a “host club”
When Tamaki spoke to you individually, he suggested that you become the club’s manager, since you politely declined becoming part of the act
The second time you spoke with Tamaki, it was with Kyoya, and you quickly realized what was going on
Though, you weren’t sure what made Tamaki think you and Kyoya would make a good team. You knew the potential was there, but pride was another big hurdle to clear
But, through a bit of convincing (and Tamaki’s puppy dog eyes), you and Kyoya agreed to partner up in running the technical business aspects of the host club. Kyoya as the vice president, you as the manager
Things were a little rocky for the first week or so of business. Both you and Kyoya had the same end goals in mind, but the friction was in how to go about it
Your approaches were more straightforward. Practicality and efficiency were what mattered to you. Sure, you didn’t mind playing the long game. But, if you didn’t have to, you wouldn’t
Kyoya’s approaches were intricate and methodical, designed for the sake of the long game. He was willing to wait for everything to fall into place, even if it wasn’t the best for the short term
But, since you knew Tamaki wouldn’t be much help to your dilemma, you and Kyoya had your first genuine conversation
“We do get things done eventually. But, only after a disagreement on our approach.”
“I suppose you’re right, L/N. Functioning the way we are now would only hurt us long-term.”
“So, is that an agreement to collaborate?”
“Of course. Besides, if we’re to be married one day, working as one unit is something we’ll need to learn.”
Kyoya gave you a cunning, yet teasing smile as he walked away. The club, undoubtably hearing what he said to you
You raised an eyebrow and gave a dumbfounded glance at your rival, who you just let stalk away without hearing your reply
This was the first time either of you verbally acknowledged your arranged marriage. Or, at least, met it with something other than dismissal and a nasty look towards the other person
Your ears and the skin between your eyes burned with heat, though you were sure it was only from Kyoya exposing your arrangement to the entire club. You had never felt so flustered by him, and you weren’t sure if you wanted to welcome the feeling yet
Kyoya on the other hand, wondered why he said what he did. It was something that slipped out in an attempt to make you all hot and bothered with no chance to reply. A small victory for him. But, what did he actually think of marrying you?
...Well, to be honest, he kind of liked it
Being able to marry someone on his intellectual level meant things would never be boring. Especially with you being so self aware
Besides, two minds for business meant neither of you needed to inherit something to be successful. You two could build your own economic empire from the ground up and still have time for vacationing on the weekends
((Ignoring the fact that Kyoya also finds you physically attractive. So, you guys would legit be the prettiest couple in Ouran))
From then on, your relationship became like a shiver of sharks. Dangerous individually, but when you see them together?

With your combined cunning and observational skills, no one can pull a fast one on the host club
Your little jabs at each other slowly became more playful, leaving the other with a burning face and a ghost of a smile
Even Honey-Senpai began religiously shipping the two of you
“Kyo-chan, Y/N-chan, can I be the ring bearer at your wedding?”
To which you both stare down at the cheeky little boy, then back at each other, aware of what he was doing. You smirk with endearment, and speak first:
“Well, that’s a big responsibility, Honey-Senpai. You think you can handle it?”
“You can’t get any cake on your suit, remember?”
Honey-Senpai faltered immediately at Kyoya’s last statement

View From the Other Side (of the Void):
Summary: Afterlife, Eclipse had no idea what could happen to an AI as advanced as he was, Especially as he stared down death itself- also known as Sun and his Kamehameha. He never had to think about it and yet, if Eclipse had to think about the Afterlife, he would say that there was nothing waiting for him on the other side.
He thought he was ready, he really did- and yet at the last moment he begins to doubt and regrets bubble to surface- it's far too late for that.
So now, here he was, trapped in some kind of limbo bubble, with only the life of the Twin idiots that killed him for entertainment (as well as some kitting). But he wont be kept here, not even by a Higher Being, named Frank of all things, So he plans and makes a deal - even if it means he will have to take responsibility for his creations… Surely it can't be too hard, even as a ghost?
((An AfterLife Fic with Frank as a Higher Being / Eldritch god. Eclipse is trapped in Limbo as his afterlife. He is not happy. Not a reaction fic. OG Eclipse and Bloodmoon redemption fic. Updated when i can.))
