One of my favourite scenes in Crimson Peak is the scene where Alan McMichael is showing Edith the ghost photography.
One of the reasons for this is the bit where he says that he says that photography with glass plates means faking the photos is "by it's nature impossible" and then the photos are pretty well known ones from the period which I'm pretty sure are known to be camera tricks and fakes.
Also, while I'm no expert on turn of the century photography, as far as I understand it the reason they were able to pull off these ghost photos was due to the long exposure of the camera.
It's something that tickles me every time when he's like "they're genuine" I'm just thinking sure they are Alan, sure they are.

I sacrificed my entire life to keep this secret, I never felt any joy because of I shame that I felt. But now that it’s out, I couldn’t care less, I am free from that fear. Nothing can hurt me. From the safety of my haunted walls I get to live my life however I choose.
