izuna: *warns madara to not trust the senju and correctly predicts doing so would end with their clan's demise*
naruto fans: the AUDACITY, how dare he say something so factually true. how can he be filled with so much justified HATRED, it has to be due to a genetically inherited MENTAL ILLNESS bc as we all know no SANE person would say such a horrible, accurate thing

You are SO right that is high praise indeed! I'm honored! =D So here. Have a donut! 🍩🍩🍩 As for Luci, let us turn to the world's favorite 700k+ words old man fanfiction that is The Bible (tm) as according to their lore, it's been canonically stated that angels are genderless for they are beings made of the Pure Holy Spirit and- Holy SHIT! What do you know??? Our dear depressed duck dad was an angel himself and in some depictions Lilith is infertile as was her punishment for her freedom! The more you know! -Bubbly💙

Behind the scenes, American officials also believe there is limited time for Israel to try to accomplish its stated objective of taking out Hamas in its current operation before uproar over the humanitarian suffering and civilian casualties – and calls for a ceasefire – reaches a tipping point. In fact, there is recognition within the administration that that moment may arrive quickly: Some of the president’s close advisers believe that there are only weeks, not months, until rebuffing the pressure on the US government to publicly call for a ceasefire becomes untenable, sources told CNN.
A lot of this pressure — the majority, I would wager — that Biden and US national leaders are getting is the result of people calling their reps, attending protests, writing to their newspapers and generally making themselves heard on this issue. People make a difference, and it's always worth reaching out to your legislators and telling them what you think.
Senators' info is pretty easy to find, since you've got two for every state (even DC and other non-state people have someone they can call!) but sometimes it's a little tricky remembering who your representative is, especially now with the district lines having changed up. So check your address here and then call their office — I've found more luck getting hold of an actual person at their local offices rather than the DC one, fwiw.

Finished re-reading the Gregor the Overlander series in probably 15 years and I’ve been ugly sobbing for an hour (it’s now 3:30am)
Real question is how did I not remember my favorite character dies in the end?? Twelve year old me really blocked that out huh
There were so many specific moments I remembered so clearly across all five books but my childhood comfort character fucking dying a gruesome traumatic death was not one of them 🤔
Fucking Suzanne Collins man 🧍‍♀️you read her books as kids and go hmm wow war is really traumatic 😞and then you re-read them as an adult and it’s like jESUS CHRIST

Thinking about Kara and Koriand'r more, and how two immensely complex and strong and angry - rightly angry - women have been treated in comics and fandom over the years. I love them so much and they're so important, and it makes me so sad that to even start to talk about their characters we have to work through misogyny, antisemitism especially towards Jewish women's anger, misogynoir including whitewashing and oversexualisation, the pressures on refugees to assimilate, and the way in which both are used, even weaponised, in DC's agendas. (With the most egregious example being giving Woman of Tomorrow to Tom King, a former CIA agent)
Their anger is so consistently sexualised, dismissed, something male characters have to "teach" them against, portrayed as just violent, and made individual rather than systemic after their experiences.
I don't have a clear conclusion to this - it would stand a much more nuanced post, I am currently just angry - but I can only say that I wish for both characters there was more room for the consultation of and ideally writing from actual refugees. Or at least a realisation that while Krypton and Tamaran aren't real, refugees and their loved ones are, and a compassion for that in discussions of both characters in fandom spaces.

if u see people talking abt palestine and spreading as much info as they can abt whats happening on the ground when social media and news outlets are purposefully burying everything they can to keep support for israel as trying to be woke it says a lot more about u than it does abt everyone else

the debates about whether or not tobirama is a racist always fail to mention that even if the senju and uchiha would be considered the same ethnic/racial group irl, that's not relevant to the setting theyre in (which curiously neglects to outright present racial categories). like you have to consider the political circumstances laid out in canon. so yeah maybe the uchiha arent explicitly considered a separate race in-universe, but you cant deny that tobirama's curse of hatred hypothesis was approaching the inception of in-universe race science. like you guys do know race isnt a fixed category, right. you do understand that racialization is a process conditioned by the interests of the hegemonic power and informed by the scientific arm of empire, both of which include tobirama, right. "this fictional character cant be a racist because his attempts to invent race were never confirmed to be successful, even if it still ended in his ideological successors doing genocide" oh you guys are priceless

So, let me get this straight, Israeli civilians deaths were just war casualties or collateral damage from a military operation (one you started btw), so their deaths are acceptable. Okay, fine, let's say I buy that. By that logic, Palestinians civilians dying are also war casualties...what? no? it's genocide, you say? But didn't you just claim this is a war, and so some innocent people dying in it is an acceptable consequence?
Curious, it almost sounds like..civilians casualties are only acceptable when they're a certain group of people..mhm, i think i've heard this discourse somewhere before...
If they truly wanted to fight back Israel, they would've straight up attacked their HQs and military locations, weakening them and punishing the people that were actively participating in tormenting palestinians. But no, they went against civilians only, from all ages.
"definitely not intended killing"
ex-fucking-cuse me??! 💀well, you're doing a damn poor job then, since you're causing the deaths of both Israelis AND Palestinians with this "military operation".
Now, since some people have trouble with basic reading comprehension, let me reiterate:
Hamas doesn't represent Palestine. My hatred is against those terrorists, not the civilians.
The merciless opression the Israel's government has inflicted upon Palestine doesn't represent Jews.

I think so much about what Aang’s spirit must have felt and what his reaction would be as Korra watched Jinora at her tattoo ceremony. Like after the trauma of finding out his whole culture and community was killed in a genocide by the fire nation and after raising his son Tenzin as the only other airbender he knew.
And if my knowledge of the timeline is correct I don’t think Aang’s spirit could have seen Tenzin’s airbender children because Korra only started interacting with them when she was 19, the start of season 1 of lok.
So I feel like that tattoo ceremony scene could have been a great opportunity to show Aang’s reaction to the first air nomad ceremony in almost over 200 years 😭😭
I envision a really emotional flashback sequence for him as he remembers the literal mass grave of his community vs the young Jinora surrounded by all the new airbenders. It’s not the same as it used to be but I think he would have so much love for the new contemporary air nomads
