Chuuya was just homeschooled under an adoptive scientist father until high school and joins Sheep High(??? ig) but some circumstances ill flesh this out later lead him to change to Yokohama’s Port High.

also Odasaku is one of those assistant teachers who are like still in college and just show up sometimes to test-run be a teacher or take notes about teaching. Dazai is just that one wierdo who hangs out with the teacher assistant and that one guy in admin (ango) and doesnt make other friends until chuuya joins

My favorite part of the dogstar show is that they really did not want to play up Keanu Reeves being the bassist. He had no microphone and the fog machine would heavily cover him specifically. Spotlight on the singer and not him. The singer started a short anecdote about Johnny Utah and Keanu just played a few cords back at him. He was just there for the music, man!

To anyone watching Only Friends and thinking "wow these people are all terrible to each other and awful, I don't like this show, why do these people even call each other friends" I would like to congratulate you on not having an insular friend group in your early 20s that was all a little too obsessed and in love with each other but also sometimes hated each other instead, where everyone was sleeping with someone (or multiple someones) and on the fact that you probably never had to hang a sign on your apartment door that said "no drama llamas allowed" when you had a party because all your friends were messy bitches and you knew someone was going to end up in a fight and/or naked before long

I'm glad for you is what I'm saying because I knew all of these characters or versions of them and I loved them anyway, but life was so stressful sometimes, and I love these fictional messes too 🤷‍♀️

Now that I've finished dungeon meshi I have to say, while I understand the disappointment with fandom's constant obsession with shipping two dudes in fandom typical ways and ignoring the women/men that don't fit a certain mold and basically ignoring the entire rest of the story...

People acting so indignant that people would do gay or even straight shipping, because this manga is such a super women-led yuri show that's all about the power of Marcille's all-consuming love for Falin, are absolutely fucking bonkers and have lost the plot.

That is not to say that these shippers are not insane or can't be annoying in the typical ways that they are, or that Marcille/Falin aren't the most shippable pairing and just about the closest you're gonna get to something romantic in Dungeon Meshi (it's a platonic ass story and I love that), or that it wouldn't be nice for the fandom around something to stay mostly devoted to the closest to a canon pairing most shippable F/F ship. It would. But like. I don't know I'm kind of upset by that attitude now

And my intention is not to be super negative about Marcille/Falin fans, because they are certainly not all like this, it's just. WHOO! That is just so not remotely what Dungeon Meshi is about to a degree I still wasn't prepared for despite being aptly warned.

I personally don't care if people have sex in public because it happens for a variety of reasons... whether because they're homeless/they can't have sex at home etc and "just go to a hotel" means you need to have money and hotels aren't that cheap. it's not always because it's a kink and if anything a bathroom is probably a much better place to do it instead of in a park or anywhere that has less privacy than a car or a bathroom. also it's a public space you don't have to stay there if you don't want to hear it
