The first time it happened, you felt relieved that Gavi had decided not to make a scene and instead chose to calmly defuse the situation.
The two of you had been at a club late one night, the high from Barcelona winning hours before pumping through your veins. He had his arms wrapped around you as you both danced to whatever Spanish song the DJ was mixing.
You laughed as he spun you around before pulling you closer, leaning down to whisper in your ear as he moved a strand of hair out of your face.
"I'm going to grab another drink. Want to come?"
His breath was hot against your ear, and even though it felt like a million degrees in the club, and you were sweating through your dress, you still shivered, his voice sending shockwaves through your system no matter how many times you heard it.
You looked up, locking eyes, "I'm good, I'll save our spot."
He kissed the top of your head before letting go, "Ok I'll be back in a second. Try and find the others if you can."
You gave him an awkward thumbs up as he walked away and he chuckled before disappearing into the crowd.
The two of you had been dating for just shy of three weeks.
You had been friends for months before dating, with you initially being introduced to him through his hometown friends. Then there was a three-month period where you both liked each other but were too scared to admit it and ruin the friendship. Finally, Gavi caved after spending two weeks away from you without contact while he playing in the U.S.
Since he admitted his feelings for you that night on the steps of your shitty college house, he had jumped straight into the relationship, inviting you to his games, to hang out with his friends, and private dinners. You on the other hand still felt like an awkward pre-teen girl every time you were with him, he just made you feel giddy inside, and you reacted to things he said so intensely that the only way to cover it up was with strange humor and stupid jokes.
That led you to now. Sometimes being around him was so overwhelming because you were always scared you would say something to embarrass yourself, and although he never made you feel any less worthy you couldn't help but feel like he could be with someone much better than you.
As you stood there contemplating, you felt a body collide with yours, effectively pulling you out of your thoughts.
You stumbled, feeling hands come up to grip your elbows, stabilizing you.
"Shit- my bad."
You looked up seeing the guy holding you sporting a white button-down and an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, those guys just pushed me. Some friends." He said referring to the group of five or so extremely drunk boys behind you.
You shook your head, "No worries, I wasn't paying attention either."
He smiled, leaning a bit closer, hands still on your elbows, "Hey do I know you? You look really familiar.”
You squinted your eyes as you gazed at him, trying to figure out if you knew him.
"Eh I go to Universitat de Barcelona if that helps."
His eyes lit up at your words, and he nodded, "Yeah, that's totally how I know you. I think you're in my biology class."
You groaned, "No way the one at 8 a.m.?", he nodded, "I'm barely awake for that lecture." you muttered.
"Mean either but it's hard not to notice you."
You only heard half his sentence and looked at him confused, "Sorry what?"
His lips tugged up in a smile as he bent down, shifting closer to you, "I said it's hard not to notice you."
You felt your breath stop as you realized what you had gotten yourself into. You made a move to shy away when you heard Gavi call your name.
You lifted your head seeing him approaching as he carried your drink, "Hey who's this?"
You went to interject and tell him it was no one but the guy next to you interrupted, "Hey man, I got to school with her.”
Gavi nodded, accepting his answer as he handed you your drink, "Oh class friend?"
You went to speak but were again cut off by the guy next to you, who had still to let go of your elbow.
"Something like that."
You saw Gavi's posture slightly straighten at his words but he relaxed a second later, "Alright."
The guy turned to you saying something about seeing you in class and then proceeded to give you a hug, his arms wrapping around your lower back.
You noticed Gavi watching the exchange but he made no comment.
You approached him timidly, unsure of if he was going to say anything about the situation, but he paid it no mind, going back to casual conversation with you.
At the time you let out a breath, thankful that he seemed intent on letting you handle your own situation.
That thankfulness soon turned to annoyance and then confusion when similar situations happened time and time again and he made no effort to speak up.
You supposed it was good he never got jealous because you knew it could get very overbearing very fast, and yet, you couldn't help the twinge of defeat you felt every time someone tried to make a move on you and he did nothing to stop them or even show a ounce of emotion.
Slowly it was making you start to question your relationship with Gavi.
Why did he not get jealous? Was it because he didn't see others as a threat? Or didn't feel the need to because you weren't as pretty as the other girls he was seen with? Maybe he simply didn't care? Or perhaps he wasn't the type?
You knew the last one couldn't possibly be true because he was absolutely the type. His entire career was based on his passion, determination, and aggression to get where he wanted. His aggression is what made him so competitive and a loyal player. So if he was so driven and passionate on the field, why was that not carrying over into your relationship?
It wasn't until almost two months later that things came to a boiling point.
It was the last game of the pre-season for Barcelona and spirits were high, everyone hoping they could seal off a great season, and enter a new one, with a win.
The stadium was filled to the brim with fans and reporters. The family section was also full with player's partners and families coming to support them in the final game of the summer.
You were sitting next to Anna, the two of you talking about school, work, and life.
Eventually, the game started and you went into full-on fan mode - cheering along when Barca made impressive plays and booing when they were tackled.
The stadium was abuzz with energy, and you basked in everyone's excitement.
You gripped Anna's hand as you saw Gavi running up the sidelines towards the other team's defense, Joao running parallel to him.
You saw him sidestep, dodging the defender, and suddenly the ball was soaring, perfectly landing at Joao's feet as he placed it into the back of the net.
The two of you jumped up, cheering along with the rest of the crowd. It seemed like Barcelona would have its victory after all.
After the game, you stayed in the family section for a while chatting with Pedri's parents as you waited for the players to make a re-emerge.
You bid goodbye to them when you got a text from Gavi telling you to come down.
You made your way down to the field, waiting behind the barricades for him to appear.
The other team's players appeared first, signing fans t-shirts and taking photos.
"Need something signed?"
You saw a player from the other team approach you, waving a sharpie in his hand.
You pointed at your jersey playfully, "No thanks. I'm a Barca girl if you couldn't tell."
He grinned, "Ahh c'mon what will it take for me to convince you?"
You shrugged your shoulders, "Ride or die sorry."
He clutched his hand to his heart in mock offense, "Ouch. I'm hurt, but I'm not giving up."
You gave him a smile, remaining polite, as you looked over his shoulder for Gavi.
"Oh I know!" he exclaimed, directing your attention back to him.
He wiggled his eyebrows before taking off his shirt, "Here, new jersey for you."
He held it out to you, and you gave him an unimpressed look.
He rolled his eyes playfully, "Alright fine. I'll sign it, but only cause you asked so nicely."
You watched amused as he signed the jersey before offering it to you.
You squinted your eyes at him.
He dangled the jersey in his hands, "C'mon take it. You know a lot of people would pay good money for this."
You reached out to grab it, "Fine, but only because I'm going to sell it later."
He held up his hands in surrender, "It's yours now. Do whatever."
You thought the conversation would end there but he made no effort to leave, "Who are you here with anyway? Someone in Barca?"
You opened your mouth to respond but were cut off.
"Me."
You whipped your head to see that Gavi had silently approached the two of you.
Besides yourself, you felt a tiny part of you waiting with bated breath for him to do something, to finally dig his boots in the ground and say something, but he remained impassive.
"Hey."
"Hey, you ready to go?" Gavi asked.
You nodded your head, unsure of how to leave the situation.
"I can lift you over the barricade if you need." The other player spoke up, and your eyes immediately flitted over to Gavi's to gauge his reaction.
His eyebrows furrowed but he didn't say anything.
You debated for a second, just to get Gavi to react, but quickly decided against it, opting to just walk around the barricade.
You approached the two of them quickly and with a hasty goodbye followed Gavi as he left the pitch. You heard the other player shout a 'see you around', and you waved in response.
You broke the silence first as you walked the empty tunnel, "Great game baby. You did amazing."
"Thanks."
His reply was clipped.
He went to hold your hand and you shifted the jersey last second to your other hand, catching his attention.
"What's that?"
"Oh, that guy gave me his jersey. I'm going to sell it." You explained, telling him how you were expecting to make hundreds.
He listened along till you finished.
"Can I see the jersey?"
You nodded handing it to him.
You swung your joint hands as you walked, talking to him about the game as he examined the jersey.
Abruptly he dropped your hand, mouth set in a firm line.
Your eyebrows stitched together, "What's wrong?"
He cleared his throat before handing you the jersey.
"I think there's something for you on it."
"I forgot something in the locker room, I'll be right back." He continued.
You looked down confused, eyes scanning the text before it clicked.
The jersey had the player's phone number on it.
You lifted your head seeing him already walking away, "Gavi wait. Can you stop for a minute?"
He turned around but continued moving, "Yeah what?"
"Stop moving!” You exclaimed, your frustration building as he continued to not express any interest in the situation.
He finally halted and you closed the distance between the two of you.
"Is there something wrong with me? Do you not like me anymore or something?"
He seemed taken aback by your words and several emotions flitted across his face, "What are you talking about?"
You took a breath, it was now or never.
"I'm not trying to sound conceited, but I'm pretty sure that guy was hitting on me-"
"He was." Gavi confirmed.
You continued, "So then why don't you care? I'm your girlfriend, so why aren't you getting jealous when other guys hit on me?"
"You want me to get jealous?" He asked incredulously.
"I mean I don't want you to become super overprotective or anything, but it would be nice if you at least acknowledged when someone is trying to get with me right in front of you. I know I would get jealous if someone was saying that to you."
"You don't think I get jealous?" His voice had a hard edge to it, and suddenly you felt like you might have read between the lines wrong.
You shrugged your shoulders, unsure, "I mean you don't show it."
"Of course I'm going to notice when some guy is eye fucking my girl one foot away from me, I'm not fucking blind."
"Then why don't you say anything?" You pressed.
“Shit y/n that's cause I don't want to scare you away!"
His admission only confused you further, and you lowered your voice acutely aware that your shouts were probably carrying far in the quiet tunnel,
"Scare me away? Why would that scare me?"
He shook his head, "The press is always making me out to be this bad guy. This kid that doesn't know how to get his temper in check and - mierda y/n - I don't want to get into this right now."
You relented, unwilling to give in, biting the bullet, "Alright so next time someone asks to lift me up, their just being friendly right? Trying to be helpful?"
His eyes blazed, "That's not what I meant and you know it."
You lifted your hands in frustration, "No Gavi actually I don't know that. You act like you don't even care."
"I care! Trust me y/n I care!" He argued.
"Then show me."
His lips were on yours before you had even finished processing what you were saying. His skin felt hot against yours as his fingers sank into your hipbone, crowding you against the wall.
You lost your train of thought as you got lost in the sensation he provided you. One hand went to tangle in his hair, as the other draped around his neck bringing him impossibly closer.
One of his hands slipped under your shirt, as he kissed you senseless. You finally pulled away for a breath but he didn't stop, moving to lay a trail of kisses from the sweet spot behind your ear, down your neck, and onto your collarbone.
You left out a soft moan underneath him, the feeling causing tingles in your spine, and a fluttery feeling in your stomach.
"We should really sto- fuck gavi - so-someone could walk in any moment." You reminded him.
"Just gotta leave a mark." He replied.
You nodded before his words caught up to you and you pushed him off, "What? No marks! I have to meet your parents tonight." You whined.
He grinned, not looking the least bit apologetic, "At least people will know you're mine now."

Valentine's Day through the years
Tumblr media
A little late valentine's day gift from me to you 😋❤️
February 2020
"Can you open the door? Is Aurora." You sister asks, brush in one hand and hairspray on the other.
She was throwing a valentine's day party and you were helping her with opening the door since she said "only friends" are allowed.
"Isn't it a little early for her to be here?" You ask confused. Getting up from your bed. "like two hours early."
"just open the door." she yells from her bathroom.
You walked downstairs, mad that you weren't allowed to be at the party but you were opening everybody's knock.
"Hola guapa." Aurora says, hugging you. "Pablo had the cupcakes, help him please."
Behind her it was Pablo, he was carrying two cupcake plates, they look amazing you had to admit.
You grab one of the plates, walking to the garden and leaving it on the very pink and red table.
"Y/n, Pablo's staying, maybe you guys can watch a movie or something." Aurora says, she was putting some decorations on the garden. "and don't worry I'll take care of the door."
You turn to Pablo, he has this mad face. You and him are civil but he never cross words with you.
"we can see something in my room." You offer, he nods. You both walk to your room. He sits on the chair you have there. "You can sit on the bed."
He does that, sitting next to you. You open netflix and pass him the remote, you let him pick whatever he likes.
"I like comedies and I like action movies. But you can pick any movie you want." You smile at him.
You can't deny your little crush on him. Aurora and your sister are like glue, always together, meaning whenever they have the chance they force you to go out with them.
The thing here is, Pablo was shy, he was very introverted and he didn't even answer you with more than a yes or no.
"Do you want some pop corn and soda?" You get up from bed and walk to your door. "I know you're a footballer but a cheat day won't hurt"
The little smile he gives you is making your stomach go crazy. He nods excited. "do you have that red soda?"
"si, do you want a cupcake? I can steal two."
"por favor." he smiles big, you love the way he was smiling.
You hurry downstairs, grabbing a package of popcorn and throwing them in the microwave.
"Aurora, I think the bathroom is not working, is that going to be a problem?"
"What? No, that can't be I just went." she leaves what she's doing. "let me check, maybe it's not."
When she left the table you grab two of the pink cupcakes. Hurrying to the kitchen to hide them.
"False alarm, is working." she says happy. "sorry I left you with my brother, mom asked me to bring him and well you guys are the same age. Just ask him about football or something."
"Yeah, no problem."
When the popcorn is ready you grab everything in a little tray and carefully take it to your room.
"I have that red soda and the cupcake."
His eyes light up, it was like seeing a child excited for candy even when mom said no.
"I picked a comedy, since you say you like them."
Your smile grow, you leave the tray on your bed, taking a sit next to him you both watch the comedy.
After three movies, two comedies and one action. The night was coming to an end, sadly, you think to yourself.
The music from the party recently gone as your sister's friends say goodbye to her.
You turn the TV off, moving the empty popcorn bowl. The two cupcakes seating on top of the tray.
You remembered what Aurora told you. "cómo van los partidos?" (how are the matches?)
He scuff, he knows you don't know anything about football. "good, I scored a goal in my last one." he smiles proud.
You nod, not sure what else to ask. "that's good, so you're a forward?"
"No, I'm a midfielder."
"Oh, okay." You say low. "and do you like being a midfielder?"
He laughs, you smile a little at that, at least one of you is having fun with the talk. "I do, I love playing. When I play I feel so good."
"You play really good, the other day Aurora showed us a video."
He blush at the confession. He loves when people ask about football but with you he feels more shy than usual.
"I have a game in a few days, maybe you can come." he asks, very low voice. Grabbing the cupcake and biting it to make the things less awkward.
"Pablo." You laugh, the frosting from the cupcake on his nose. "come here."
You grab a napkin, cleaning carefully his nose. His eyes are on you the whole time, he love the way your eyes shine, maybe too much to ever say it.
"Done." You smile, getting up from bed and throwing the napkin on the little trashcan in your room.
Aurora knocks on the door, announcing that their mom was waiting for them and to pick his things.
"Thank you for the movie and for the food, I really enjoy it."
Your smile grow, he loved that. "Thank you for not leaving me alone, it would have been so much worse without you here."
Aurora screaming at Pablo to go interrupt your chat. He waves goodbye and walk out of your room.
"Pablo." You call, hand on the door and only half body out of the door. "Hope you score a goal for this match, so I can say I have a good memory of my first match."
The last thing you see is his smile, closing the door and trying to remain calm. You feel like in one of those romantic movies.
February 2021
"That was amazing. You did it amazing, Pablo. " You jump in his arms, excited about the victory.
"Did you see that assist?" He asks happily, arms hugging you tightly. "Thank you for coming."
Pablo and you became closer after the last 14th of February. You two became what your sisters are.
Aurora and your sister keep telling you that Pablo likes you as more than a friend. You prefer to let him tell you that and don't make yourself the fool.
"Of course I was coming. My boy is in the first team. I can't lose this."
My boy
Pablo loves it when you call him that. You're very special. The way you take care of him, motivate him to be better. In less than a year, you became his number one supporter.
"I think I'm allowed to eat something I shouldn't just tonight. Want to do that with me?" He grabs your hand and walks with you back to Pedri.
"Hola, long time no see," Pedri jokes with you. He knows about Pablo's crush on you and takes every opportunity to make it notice. "Did you enjoy the game?"
"I did, I'm happy you guys got assists today." You high-five Pedri. Pablo can't help the big smile he has.
To all the people around you it was obvious the connection you two have. They just need to look at Pablo's eyed when he's talking about you or talking to you.
"The eyes never lie." That's what his mother says.
Pedri drop the two of you to a restaurant. Asking Pablo to be careful and to enjoy the night.
You walk in front of him, that's when he notices that you're wearing the shirt he gave you. The one he used to play for the first time with the first team.
That number 30 and his name sitting on your back are doing things to him.
"Hello, how many in your party?" The host asks you.
"Two, please."
"You're so lucky. We have a table ready for you."
She guides you to the table. You love the decorations of the place, it was all so cute yet not exorbitant and tacky.
"We have a special Valentine's Day menu for all our couples. I'll leave it here and I'll leave two normal menus in case you want something else."
You can't help but blush at her words. You two aren't a couple, not because you don't want to, but you like the way that sounds.
"So, since you're my valentine's today," Pablo jokes, the smile he has is a teasing one. "Two valentine's day meals?"
"You didn't ask me to be your valentine" you pout, making him laugh.
"Y/n, pretty girl, will you be my valentine?"
He grabs a rose from the little bouquet that's making decoration in the wall next to him. He offers the rose to you with a big smile.
"I'll have to think about it, Mister Gavi." You take the rose, smelling it.
"What about now?" He steals another two roses, giving them to your now small bouquet. "Will you be now?"
"Yes." You grab his hand and intertwine your fingers with him. "That means you're buying me dessert."
He laughs, not letting your hand go. He nods at you, noticing how you're looking at your hands. He brings your hand closer to his mouth, giving it a kiss.
"I'll get you anything you want."
The little interaction was interrupted by the waitress. You both order the valentine's day meal.
Dinner was good. You both laughed with stories from the dressing room. He was spilling all the things that happened today.
"There's a park like a block away. Would you like to walk for a little while before I drop you home?"
"That would be nice. Maybe my pants will fit me again." You both laugh at that.
Once you're out of the restaurant and near the park, your hands find his again. You smile at the thought of him wanting more than just friendship.
After all, Aurora and your sister were sure of it. But what if it wasn't like that? What if he's just a very affectionate friend?
Friends held hands? Yes, they do.
Friends support each other? Yes.
Friends take each other out to eat on valentine's day? ... maybe?
The park has these rose tunnels. They were beautiful and very romantic. The way the little light was enough and gave this romantic vibe to the people walking in.
"What's on your mind? Pretty girl." He stops, noticing how you're lost in your thoughts.
Do you want to ruin the night with the question that's burning your brain? Do you want to ruin the friendship by letting your mind run crazy?
You look at him, worried frown on his face. "Tell me, maybe I can help you?" The way his hands are now on your waist, bringing you closer to him.
You're not sure if you should tell him. You're not ready for his answer. You don't want to end the day crying in your room.
"I'm just thinking." You whisper.
"About?"
"Us." You confess.
His grip is stronger, not hurting you, but enough for you to notice the sudden change.
"What about us?" He whispers. He's scared, scared of you telling him that you only like him as a friend. Scared of losing you.
"Pablo, I like you." You say. Lips quivering.
He's internally screaming, making the best work of his life by keeping that famous frown.
You wait for him to say something, eyes glued to each other. As the seconds pass, you feel your heart breaking. He doesn't like you that way.
But how wrong you're, his mind is working a thousand miles per hour. Not sure how to tell you that he likes you too without sounding too crazy.
Your hands move from his shoulders to his hands, moving them away from you. You want to go home and cry yourself to sleep.
That action makes him go back to reality. He notices your tearful eyes. "Wait, no."
"No, it's okay. I can take a cab home. Don't worry."
You decided to leave, not wanting for him to see you cry. But the grip on your arm stops you. "Wait, Y/n."
"No, Pablo. It's okay, I just want to go home." You remove his hand from your arm, walking away from him.
"Can you let me say what I have to say?" He grabs your arm again. He needs to say it.
"You don't have to say anything, I know."
"No, you don't, shit you don't." His hands go back to your waist. "You don't know because I've been a stupid kid who doesn't know any better, I like you too, maybe too much for me to feel comfortable saying it."
You want to say something, but he keeps rambling.
"And you have no idea, joder. The way you look at me with those beautiful shiny eyes and the way you smile or laugh even at my bad jokes." He laughs, making you laugh. "The way my name looks on your back is making me think things I shouldn't but things I only think about you. And the way you know my sister and she loves you and my mom. Gosh, my mom. "
"What about your mom?" You ask confused.
"She told me to confess because a girl like you won't come twice in a lifetime." He hugs you, bringing you closer to him. You lock your arms behind his neck. "I like you more than you think. I was just too scare to say it before."
"I'm head over heels with everything you just said, but can you please shut up and kiss me?" You smile, making him chuckle.
His hand goes to the back of your neck, bringing you closer. The kiss is everything you ever dreamed of. All those nights dreaming about it now coming true.
He smiles into the kiss. Happy that the girl he always had a crush on, the sister of his sister's best friend, the one Aurora always tried to bring closer because they were the same age.
"Se mi novia." (Be my girlfriend) He let's out, not thinking much about it. "I can't let another day pass without making you my girlfriend." You nod, kissing him again.
"Te prometo que voy a hacer algo mejor que esto, pero hoy quiero volver a casa y que todos sepan que eres mía." (I promise that I'm doing something better than this, but tonight I just want to go back home and let all my family know you're mine.)
You press your forehead to his, enjoying the moment. He was yours, and you were his. That's all you need to know.
February 2022
"Pablo, stop it." You say, morning voice making Pablo chuckle. He continue with the kisses on your neck and back. "Amor, five minutes more."
"You asked me for five minutes like twenty minutes ago."
You open your eyes, room kinda dark thanks to the curtains. The big mirror he has reflecting you with his arms around you.
"Feliz aniversario, preciosa mía." (happy anniversary) he kiss your earlobe. "if you weren't such a sleepy head I would have given you a good morning gift but now I'm thinking of breakfasts." he tease you. Making you blush at the thought of your last night actions.
You turn to face him, smirk on his face. "Feliz aniversario, ojitos lindos." You kiss his lips, your hands caressing his chest. "I'm hungry too."
He laughs, kissing you again. He push you lightly, getting on top of you while he deepens the kiss.
He loves the way you whimper every time he touch you. Every sound, every little jump your body gives. You are his.
"Pablo, I have class in an hour." You remind him. His head buried between you neck. "and I am hungry, amor."
You both get up from bed, quickly running to the bathroom to do your routine and to force Pablo to do the one you taught him to keep his skin clean.
"Oye, I forgot my bag in the truck of my car, can you please help me and bring it? I'll make us some pancakes."
"Yes sir." You laugh, walking to the garage to open the truck. "Oh my god." You find five designer bags. All of them with red bows. "Pablo!"
He smiles when he heards you calling his name. He knows you've been stressing about classes, having barely any sleep.
He also knows you don't like when he spoils you, you're shy about it, telling him that you're more than spoiled with him letting you live with him and not allowing you to pay any bill or anything.
"Amor, what is all this?" You walk inside with the five bags. He smirk, serving the first pancake on the plate.
"A little something for my reina."
"Pablo, I can't. Amor this is too much." You check the first bag. It's a beautiful Hermes blanket you save on Pinterest. "Amor, this cost more than my tuition."
"Not at all." he laughs, the way you look at the blanket with such eyes. The shiny eyes he loves. "Keep looking."
"Dios mio, how?"
He smirks, he had to get your friends help to pick some things like colors or sizes. Like the bag you have in your hands, he knew you wanted it, but you never decided in a color of your preference.
Your eyes land on the red and gold bag. Cartier. You told him once a few months back that you wanted to match with him on something.
You gifted him a bracelet, he wears it everywhere he goes, is his favorite piece of jewelry.
But you wanted something else to match him. You remember that you wanted a P inicial.
His hands on your waist make you go back to reality, it was two necklaces, one with your initial and one with his and a little six.
"We can match now." he whispers in your ear, kissing your neck. "want me to put it in you?"
You nod, happy that he remembered something so small. You feel the tears in your eyes and he lock the necklace in place.
"Pablo." You turn to him, hugging his torso and crying in his chest. "te amo, you're so special."
He caress your back, kissing your head. "You're my baby, my reina, and I'm always going to give you everything you want."
"But I can't give you the same. And that make me feel bad for you, you're so special and I want to spoil you too."
"shhhh. You're special too, you spoil me a lot. You take care of me, you cook for me, you help me when I'm sick, when I'm tired, you're my biggest fan."
You nod, knowing that even when what you give him is not much. For him it was more than enough.
"Now give me a kiss and let's eat, you have to go to class." he dry your tears and kiss your cheeks and then your lips.
"I don't want to go." You whine. Hugging him again.
"Preciosa, see it this way, our kids will need help with the homework, and the one who will help them is you." he jokes. "that's your motivations".
You laugh, he always knew the right thing to say to make you feel better.
February 2023
"Can you serve me some more juice?" he smiles, kissing your shoulder. "pretty please."
"Pablo, venga hombre que tu te puedes levantar. Deja a la niña comer." (c'mon son. You can get up, let her eat in peace) his dad say. Smacking him in the back of the head.
You laugh at that, but you grab his cup and get up to serve him more juice. You know how crazy he gets for orange juice.
"Listo, now eat." You pass him the juice after taking a sip of it.
"Hey. That's mine." he frowns. Joking with you. "Thank you, preciosa."
You were eating with his parents, they were visiting from Sevilla and wanted to spend time with you two.
Aurora and her boyfriend are with you two. You love spending time with them. Going on double dates with them.
"You want to know what's funny?" Aurora giggles. "your sister and I always talked about going on double dates and now that's she's in Paris. You're the one I'm going on double dates with."
You giggle with her. Your sister moved to Paris to study design. She and Aurora always video chat and text but now that you're with Pablo, Aurora and you were closer. Thing that makes your sister extra happy. Knowing that you're taking care of each other.
"We're going on a hiking adventure today, if you guys want to join we will leave after lunch."
You thank him, explaining that Gavi and you were going on a little museum visit.
Gavi's plan was to take you to a museum, you love art. So to him it was a good idea to have a more calm anniversary and to do something you love and enjoy.
"Y/n, cariño. Can you help me later with the cooking, you're the only one that can get the sauce to its point." Belén asks you, you nod excited. "Thank you, mija."
You love cooking with Belen, she always gave you advice and you improved your cooking with her recepies.
After lunch you all chat for a little, you love his family and the love you as their own. If you ask Belen or Pablo's father, they would tell you that they can see you two going for the long ride.
Belén often asks Pablo about the future. If he ever sees you two in his plans. Pablo would say yes without hesitation. You're the most important person in his life. He knows that.
If someone asks you, you would say the same, you can picture yourself with a family. You can picture yourself walking down the aisle to him.
But you two are young. Too young to think about marriage and a family. You want to live a lot of things with him. Not rush into adulthood.
"Let's go, preciosa." he extends his hand out to you, you take it, thumb caressing his skin.
The drive was calm, he was singing this new song he has on replay. You love when he drives, it suits him so much the driver look.
He like the idea of going to a museum date, he's interested in things people don't know about, this being one of them.
"Look, this one is call El Beso" he says. Teasing tone as he elbow your arm.
"Wow, you know how to read names, babe. Good job." You joke. Making him pout.
Your hands intertwine as you walk around. There was this specific painting that Pablo liked. He was reading about it.
"I want a copy of this at home."
"Yes, it's very pretty."
"Pretty like you." he kiss your cheek. Hugging you while he finish reading about the painting.
You love how easy it is to enjoy things with him, how easy is to love him, to talk with him.
"Te amo, Pablito." You kiss his cheek. Hugging him tight.
"I know. I love you so much too." he kiss your lips. Smiling into the kiss.
February 2024
"Careful big boy." You say, helping him walk upstairs of your home. "Let's slow down, you're running."
He was tired. Tired of always needing help, tired of always looking like a kid who needs to be taken care of, tired of not being able to be the old him.
"Joder, I can't do this anymore." he fall in the bed. He feel like crying. "just leave without me."
You sit next to him. Caressing his hair and letting him cry, you help him with his shoes, taking off his Jordan's.
You grab the glass of water you always have next to you in bed. Bringing it to him, "Amor, drink this."
He does as you told him. Drinking the whole glass, you sit behind him, careful with his legs.
"Come here, amor." You push him down to you. His back stick to your chest. Your hands on his hair, nails caressing his scalp. "I'm not going anywhere, not without you." He sobs again, he's not in his best days and you know it. "shhh, I'm here. You're okay."
You treat him like a baby, you're aware of that, but you don't mind it. He was your baby, your Pablito, he was yours and you love taking care of him.
"Today my friend Jessica made cookies." You began telling him about your day to distract him. "and they're so good, I saved you one."
His sobs are more calm now. His breathing still very accelerated and that worries you.
"Also, today on this class, remember the one you convince me to take?" You kiss his hair. Hands caressing his arms up and down. He nods at your question. "Well they asked us today to describe something about our partner or someone we love, like when we knew we loved them."
He's calming down, paying attention to your words. You know how to calm him down, how to take his mind out of his worried state.
"And I talked about that nigh in the park. When you asked me to be your girlfriend." You giggle, remembering how happy you were that night. "I can't forget the words you told me. How your mom told you to confess your feeling for me, because a girl like me happens once in a lifetime."
"That's true." he whispers.
"I knew I loved you because you were so honest with me, you were so straight with your words. How you told me you will give me anything I want. And you do."
"Even when you told me that I spoil you too much." he chuckle.
"And I want you to know how in love I am with you, Pablo. You're my love." You kiss his earlobe, then his head. "do you know that?"
"I know, and I love you so much too. I'm in love with you too."
"So don't ever think just because of your ACL or any other injury I'll leave you behind. Pablo I'm with you for the long ride." You hug him, his hands find yours and intertwine them. "Now, what if we both stay home and I prepare some nice dinner or better, we can order McDonald's."
You see his reflection, he's smiling like crazy, even with red eyes and tearful cheeks he looks like an angel.
"Te amo. You're the love of my life."
"And you're the love of my life." You kiss his head again. "and I know that in every life time we will be together."
"Even as worms?" he tease you.
"Even as worms, mi amor."
You enjoy a night at home with him, telling stories and watching movies that you both later comment.
That's what you enjoy the most, how every moment is a special moment, even the smallest ones.
"Oye, kiddo." You call.
He lift his eyes from his ice-cream. Attention all on you.
"Te amo." You get closer to kiss him. "and I always will."

---
the front door creaked open and your head perked up from the sofa. your boyfriend was home from his latest match. it wasn’t an important one so you stayed home and watched it on the tv.
barcelona won, and you had been waiting for him to come home. a smile spread across your face upon pablo’s return, but it fell when you saw his hunch and eyebrows knitted together in discomfort.
“hey baby.” he grunted out as he dropped his bag on the ground, kicked off his shoes, and tossed his keys onto the table near the door.
he walked slowly to you, trying to straighten his apparent hunch.
“what’s wrong, pablo? are you feeling okay?”
he finally made eye contact with you, his eyebrows softening at your concerned expression. “i’m feeling better than ever.” he smiled at you softly before approaching you on the couch.
you were genuinely concerned about his well-being since he was starting so many matches recently, but you let it go. if pablo was anything, he was dramatic. if he was hurt you would definitely know.
he shifted to sit next to your legs on the couch. he lowered himself with a pained grunt. that’s what concerned you. he sounded like he was fifty-six and had serious arthritis.
“oh my god- pablo..”
he sat himself down on the couch with a sigh, turning to you with a smile. “i missed you, y/n.”
he leaned forward to kiss you on the forehead.
“are you certain you’re okay? you look like you’re in pai-“
“don’t worry about me, okay, darling?” ignoring the question, he stretched his arm across your shoulders and diverted his attention to the tv in front of you.
you let it go again. he’s smart enough to know when something is wrong with him and not leave it in the air.
you thought.
---
you both fell asleep on the couch watching whatever was on.
you woke up to the smell of popcorn and some bottles opening. squinting, you looked over into the bright kitchen. he had made a bowl of popcorn and was carrying drinks with him. he only had two hands, of course, but had wedged the drinks in the crease of his elbows, holding them to his side.
his tongue was stuck out slightly as he focused on not dropping anything. you giggled at his effort to not take two trips.
“what? work smarter, not harder” he joked as you made room for him on the couch.
he sat next to you and placed the food on the table in front of the couch. “why are you doing this, pablo? we need to eat dinner! and what about your diet? what- mmm!-“
he shut you up with a kiss.
“just wanted to spoil my favourite girl..”
he smiled and kissed you again, his hands raking into your hair. “i feel like there’s a catch.. you’re gonna do something ba- STOP”
pablo had completely switched up and started tickling you. he knelt and trapped you between his legs. he started tickling and pinching your sides. you couldn’t help but laugh, of course.
you were laughing so hard that it hurt. “pablo stop! serious- seriously stop it- ah!-“
he was also laughing as he continued annoying you, pinning you down with the weight of his body alone. you opened your eyes and saw him looking down at your waist, his hands still attacking your sides.
you twisted to the side in discomfort as he proceeded to tickle you. when you twisted, his body froze. he let out a groan and hissed as his back was caught in a weird position.
he stopped tickling you to fix his posture.
you took that opportunity to catch your breath before sitting up.
“pablo, what’s wrong? you look like you’ve been in pain all day! i’m seriously getting concerned.”
he looked up at you sheepishly. “nothings wrong, mi amor. i promise i’m fine, argh-“
he grunted as he tried to sit down, his hand flying to his back. he pressed down and gritted his teeth.
“okay, that’s enough. lay down.”
you got up from the couch and pointed to it, your expression stern.
“y/n, i’m fi-“
“lay. down.”
he bit his lip in defeat and lowered his body slowly onto the couch, stomach down. he rested his head on his hands and turned his head to the side to look at you.
“what happened, pablo?” you straddled his lower back and pulled up his thin shirt so you could see his back.
there were no visible injuries, but you could tell that he was tense and in pain.
“just… just tired. there’s so many matches and- ohh..”
pablo let out a long moan as you pushed your hands gently down onto his sore back. you moved your hands up and down the middle of his back, applying some pressure.
“my god! you’re so tense, baby..” you continued rubbing his back, listening to his groans and hisses. “this isn’t healthy. you need to talk to your coach.”
“i’m fine.. it’s just, a lot right now. once i get back into the groove of things- mmpgh, oh god-“
every time you pressed into one specific part of his mid back, he wouldn’t shut up. “does it hurt here?” you whispered, and he nodded against the fabric of the couch.
you smiled softly and continued kneading at his muscles. he hummed softly, his hums gradually getting less and less frequent as you continued massaging him. “does that feel better?”
he grinned into the couch and turned his head back to look at you. “so much better. thank you, mi amor.” he placed a grateful kiss on your lips and you giggled against his.
after pulling his shirt back down, you laid down on his back and wrapped your arms around him from under his armpits. “glad i could make you feel better, but you need to take a rest day, pablo.”
you reminded him sternly, and he looked down at the couch in defeat. “i think so too. i just don’t want to let the team down.”
your eyes widened at his words. this stubborn man was agreeing to what you were saying? pigs must be flying. and let the team down? he’s done everything but that.
“pablo, if you think you’re going to let the team down, you’re stupid. you’ve done nothing but help barcelona excel and you’re a huge asset to the squad. don’t beat yourself up over this.”
he sighed under you before turning to kiss your hand that was near his face. he smiled softly against your hand before whispering out.
“you’re right.”

ACTIONS - GAVI
summary: gavi has an outburst
warnings: swearing and fighting
You shivered as you walked along the street, the oh so familiar street you walked along multiple of times.
Not because you really wanted to but because you had to.
A cold breeze hit you as a car drove past you and stopped just a meter in front of you on the road.
Fuck, it was Gavi's car. As you reached his car you noticed that the window was rolled down. "Get into the fucking car." Gavi yelled and you sighed while fighting back tears.
"I said get into the fucking car!" Gavi yelled even louder, you almost burst out crying as you got into the car, sitting into the warm seat you put your hands between your knees and kept your head low. You however gazed up at the center console to see that your seat was heated.
"What the fuck were you thinking?! Arent you ashamed of yourself?!" Gavi yelled as he drove back to his house.
You couldn't help but cry, tears burning on your cheecks as they rolled down and finally fell down into your lap.
"Oh now youre crying, gosh Y/n you're such a slut. Making a mess out of everything but then playing the victim, it's always the same with you, I'm tired of your bullshit!" Gavi yelled, his words hurt you, every single one felt like you've been stabbed into the stomach.
"I'm sorry." You whispered, he parked down the car in the driveway of his house. He then grabbed your jaw and made you look up at him.
"Listen here, if you say you're sorry one more fucking time I swear to god I'm gonna beat the shit out of you." Gavi said angrily as he held your jaw so tightly in his grip that you thought its gonna break.
"I love you." You whispered as tears ran down your cheeks. He scoffed while opening the door and going inside your house.
You cried as you got out and followed him into the house. "You're so stupid, my god how can anyone even love you Y/n? All you do is fuck around. You're a fucking whore." Gavi kept yelling at you while you took off your heels.
"I love you." You whispered again and looked up at him. He scoffed again and grabbed your upper arm, his touch felt like a knife right into your heart.
He walked over to the bathroom, dragging you with him as you cried out.
He pushed you into the bathroom forcefully. "Get in the fucking shower." Gavi yelled at you, you stepped into the shower and shivered as he looked at you, his breathing was heavy and uneven.
He then grabbed the showerhead and turned on the water, he turned the water from the very hot side into the cold one but still a bit warm, he held it right into your face, the cold water spraying right into your face, mixing with your tears.
"Does this feel nice? This is how you make me feel everyday!" Gavi yelled again and you couldn't even keep your eyes open.
Everytime you tried to open them you came face to face with Gavi, you didn't wanna see him.
"I love you" You said again and lowered your head. Gavi finally turned off the water and he pulled you out of the bathtub with force. You almost slipped on the wet marmor floors. He held you steady as he then walked out of the bathroom again and slammed the door shut.
You looked down onto the floor of the dark bathroom as you felt water running down your whole body. You listened carefully as Gavi walked over to the front door and left the house, you immediately sat down on the cold marble floor and started to sob.
After about 10 minutes you regained the strength to stand up and walk into your shared bedroom with Gavi.
As soon as you walked into the room you saw a hoodie and joggers spread out on your side of the bed. It had to be Gavi who put those out for you, then you got changed and walked down to the kitchen again.
Your cheek was covered by dried up tears and your eyes still red while you sat down on the couch.
It wasn't the first time you and Gavi fought, but this was the most brutal fight of them all. You've never experienced Gavi this mad and at first you didn't even want to belive that this was real.
Gavi was the sweetest thing to exist on this planet, atleast to you so you didn't really understand while he was so angry now.
After about an hour of waiting for him to come back home you eventually gave up and walked up into the bedroom.
Still wearing his hoodie you slipped under the covers and pulled the blanket up to your neck. Just about 2 hours later after you drifted off to sleep, Gavi quietly made his way up the stairs. He took off his shirt and his jeans and slipped into shorts. He looked at you on the bed, sleeping pescefully. The truth was, Gavi felt horrible.
Ever since he got injured he stacked up the emotions inside of himself, he knew that he had to let them out but he hoped that it wouldn't happen with you.
He also knew that this wasn't an excuse for being so horrible but he will make up for it.
He crawled into the bed and you were turned around, facing his side of the bed. Gavi put his forehead against yours and closed his eyes while exhaling deeply.
"I'm so sorry, I love you." He kissed your forehead and then laid down next to you in the bed. He turned to other way to face the wall as he couldn't stand seeing the tears in the corner of your eyes.
After you were a hundred percent sure that he had fallen asleep you cuddled closer to him and hugged him. You knew he needed comfort and someone to calm him down.
He didn't let you give it to him yet, because before he could trust you he needed to trust himself.
The injury had a bad impact on him at first, he learned how to live with it now, some of those outbursts still happened.
Gavi was just so thankful that you had the patience with him and showed him that you really loved him. After he was back to playing he asked you about it one day.
"I still feel bad for the way I yelled at you while I was injured." He turned his head to face you, but you just shook it off. "No seriously, if I was you, I would have left, why didn't you, I mean I was horrible to you."
"Because there were still signs that you loved me. I know that it affected you a lot, words mean a lot but actions mean way more."

Priority~
Tumblr media
-The one where Gavi prioritized something else over his own girlfriend-
Y/N had been feeling increasingly neglected in her relationship with Pablo Gavi. His football career seemed to take precedence over everything else, including her. One day, she found herself in a tough situation when her car broke down in Girona, and she had an important meeting to attend. Desperate, she decided to call Pablo, hoping he could come to her rescue.
As she dialed his number, Y/N anxiously tapped her foot on the pavement. The phone rang, and she waited, her frustration growing with each passing second. But Pablo was deep into his training session and didn't hear the call. After what felt like an eternity, he finally reached for his phone during a break and saw multiple missed calls from Y/N. Concerned, he immediately called her back.
"Hey amor, what's wrong?" Pablo asked as he leaned against his locker, his breath still heavy from the training.
Y/N's voice trembled with frustration. "Pablo, my car broke down in Girona, and I have this important meeting. Can you please pick me up?"
Pablo hesitated for a moment, glancing at his teammates who were heading towards the exit. He knew he had agreed to join them for a meal after training. "Amor, I really wish I could, but Xavi wants to talk to me about the match tomorrow. It's important," he lied.
Y/N's heart sank. She had hoped he would prioritize her just this once. "Pablo, please, I'm stuck here, and I don't know what to do. Can't you make an exception? I really need your help now…"
Pablo sighed, torn between his commitment to his girlfriend and his loyalty to his team. "I'm sorry bebe, but I have to go. Xavi is waiting. We'll talk later, okay? Te quiero muchísimo amor! "
Y/N's eyes welled up with tears. She felt abandoned and hurt. "Fine, go then." She hung up, her fingers trembling.
With no other choice, Y/N called a pickup truck and booked a taxi back to Barcelona. As she sat alone in the taxi, the distance between her and Pablo seemed greater than ever.
—————————————————————-
Y/N, feeling exhausted and hurt, arrived at Pablo’s house, hoping to find him there to explain why he hadn’t come to her rescue. She texted him, asking where he was, but her phone remained silent with no reply.
Then, she went upstairs for a refreshing shower. The warm water helped wash away the physical and emotional strains of the day. After her shower, she wrapped herself in a towel and lay down on Pablo’s bed, feeling utterly drained.
As she lay on his bed, she opened Instagram, then saw Pedri’s Instagram stories, tagging Pablo and their other teammates at a restaurant. Her heart sank as she checked the timestamp - it was 3 PM, the exact time when she had desperately called Pablo for help in Girona. She realized that Pablo had deliberately chosen to prioritize his time with friends over helping her in her time of need.
—————————————————————-
Then, Pablo came home and walked into the living room and tried to break the ice, saying, "Amorrr, I'm home." However, Y/N remained visibly upset and ignored him, her eyes focused on the Netflix screen.
Not one to give up easily, Pablo made another attempt to bridge the gap, gently asking, "Hey preciosa, how was your day?" Y/N responded with one word, "Tiring."
Pablo couldn't bear to see Y/N upset, so he affectionately said, "Awww, my poor baby," and leaned in to give her a kiss. But Y/N turned her head slightly, causing him to land the kiss on her cheek instead of her lips.
Confused and concerned, Pablo asked, "¿Qué pasa, amor?" Y/N sighed, replying, "Nada. I'm just tired."
Pablo, sensing that something was seriously wrong, decided to give her some space and said, "Okay, I'm gonna take a shower. I'll join you after this, okay?"
After his shower, Pablo couldn't stand the weight of the silence between them any longer. He walked downstairs and found Y/N on the couch, still not speaking to him. He laid his head on her chest and, with those familiar, sad, doe-like eyes, said, "Amor, why are you ignoring me?"
Pablo always had a way to make Y/N fold with his cute brown doe eyes but this time she was determined not to give in easily.
He couldn't bear to see her like this, so he gave it one more try, softly asking, "Please talk to me, bebe?"
Y/N's voice held a hint of frustration as she replied, "Why should I? You didn't even try to help me when I needed help"
Pablo felt a growing sense of desperation. He attempted to explain himself, "Bebe, please, understand. I was at training, and you know how busy it gets. I told you, right?"
But Y/N wasn't ready to let him off the hook. She said firmly, "Stop lying, Gavi. You were finished with your training when I called you."
Pablo stuttered, his excuses faltering, "Uh... well, I still had something to do after that."
Y/N seized the moment to confront him, "Like going out with your friends instead of helping your girlfriend who clearly needed help? I bet if your friend’s car broke down, you would immediately ditch training and rush to help them."
Pablo attempted to explain himself, saying, "Well, I can't just cancel on them, bebe. We made reservations, and I didn't want to just ditch them like that. You understand, right?"
Y/N's disappointment was palpable as she responded, "No? If you were in trouble, I would ditch anything or anyone just to help you because why? You're my priority, and I put you first. But sadly, I figured I'm not your priority now. Thanks for that."
Pablo, feeling defensive, argued, “Well, I can’t just bail on my friends, amor. What will they say? ‘Pablo is ditching us for his girlfriend.’ You know them.”
Y/N’s was extremely disappointed with his answer and replied, “So, you were worried about what they would say more than helping me, your girlfriend, who was stranded in another city and in trouble? Wow, okay.”
With a heavy heart, she got up and went to the bedroom, holding back her tears because she didn’t want Pablo to think she was too emotional or a crybaby.
That night, Pablo and Y/N both went to bed, but they couldn't sleep well. They were upset and didn't talk to each other. Y/N slept by turning her back from Pablo. He tried to hug her from the back because he loves spooning her but Y/N pushed his grip and he understood that she’s still mad at him.
It was 330 AM, both of them lay in bed, their backs turned to each other. Y/N closed her eyes, attempting to sleep, but it seemed impossible.
Every so often, she heard Pablo sighing loudly and felt him tugging at the blanket, leaving her with less and less of it to cover herself.
Y/N finally broke the silence, frustration in her voice. "Would you stop hogging the blanket, Pablo? I'm trying to sleep here."
Pablo sighed and replied, "Sorry, amor, it's just... I can't sleep knowing you're mad at me. I really want to hug you right now, and it's hard for me to sleep because i can’t stop thinking about us. I hate it when we’re not okay like this.”
Y/N sighed, still annoyed. But Pablo's request made her heart softened a bit as she was also dying to hug him. Truth was, she also couldn’t sleep and she knew hugging him would make her fall asleep in a second. Pablo then said, "Please amor? Can I please hug you? I know you're mad at me but you can continue being mad at me tomorrow..”
Y/N didn't respond with words, but she moved closer to Pablo, still not turning her back to face him. For Pablo, this gesture was a silent confirmation that Y/N allowed him to spoon and cuddle her.
Pablo immediately hugged Y/N tightly and said, "Thank you, amor." Y/N couldn't help but smile at how cute Pablo was being. However, she was still upset with him, so she didn't reply. She tried her best to hide her smile because she didn't want Pablo to know that she was actually smiling. She then held his hand, and soon they both fell asleep.
The next morning, Y/N's position shifted, as she lay her head on Pablo's chest while he had his arm around her waist. When Y/N woke up, she tried to gently move Pablo's hand because she needed to get up and take a shower to prepare for work.
Pablo grumbled sleepily, saying, "Urhhmm, no, stay with me."
Y/N replied, "I need to shower now, Pablo. I have to go to work, and don't forget, I'm still mad at you."
Pablo, not willing to let her go, held onto her tightly and said, "But……amor….. I want cuddles…..”
Y/N still trying to move Pablo’s hand, saying, "Your time is up now, and you have training in 1 hour. You should get up too."
Pablo couldn’t resist and asked, "Well…can I join you in the shower?"
Y/N, still upset with him, replied, "No, I'm mad at you."
Pablo clung to her even tighter and said, "Then I'm not letting you go."
Y/N winced slightly and relented, saying, "Ouch, Pablo. Vale, fineee, let's both get up and take a shower."
Pablo grinned and said, "Together?"
Y/N sighed and replied, "Yeah, whatever." as she rolled her eyes but then Pablo went and kissed her cheek making her giggle.
——————————————————————-
As they finished showering, Y/N went to the kitchen to make breakfast, and Pablo still in the bedroom fixing his hair. Later, he came downstairs and found Y/N preparing a yogurt bowl. He hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek, but Y/N was busy and told him, "Pablo, please, I'm busy right now." So, he sat down at the table, playing with his phone.
Once Y/N was done making breakfast, she handed it to him, and he said, "Thank you, preciosa." They both sat at the table, eating while on their phones. After a while, Pablo broke the silence, saying, "Amor, I'm really sorry for yesterday. I was a jerk, and I should've helped you, but I didn't. I'm truly sorry, amor."
Y/N, still focused on her yogurt, finally looked up and said, “I appreciate your apology, Pablo, but what happened yesterday really upset me.”
Pablo then gently held Y/N's chin and looked at her eyes with a deep sincerity and said, "I love you so much, amor, and it hurts to see you being so cold towards me. I miss my clingy baby, I miss your kisses. Please understand that even though I focus on my career sometimes, I love you no matter what. My career is important, but so are you, amor. I'm truly sorry for what happened yesterday, and I regret it deeply."
Y/N sighed and relented, saying, “Okay…fine, I forgive you. But you have to promise me that the next time I call for your help, you won’t bail on me like that.”
Pablo nodded earnestly and replied, “I promise, amor. If I ever bail on you, you can kick me or punish me however you want.”
Y/N chuckled and said, "Well, I'm going to make your friends kick you too!" They both shared a laugh.
Pablo then said, “Yes, bebé, I don’t mind because I probably deserve it.” He then reached out and gently held her hand and kissing it, continuing, “I’m truly sorry, okay, amor? I love you so much, cariño.”
Y/N replied, "Hmmm okay, you're forgiven.. I love you too, Pablito."

Hi, I've got a request for Gavi where reader tells him that she's pregnant. That's pretty much all I thought of sorry
Also known as Gender Reveal (10)!
Blessing - P.G6
Summary: Two small lines can change the world for you and your husband, Pablo.
Tumblr media
You were throwing up once again, it was the five day in a row and the third time today you visited the bathroom to let all the content of your stomach out.
"¡Amor!" You heard your two years husband, Gavi before you felt him burst in into the bathroom pulling your hair up and pat your back softly "Let it out"
"Don-ugh!" You lift your hand but quickly cut yourself off and grabbed the end of the toilet. You waited for a few minutes and after you had let everything out, you sighed and quickly shut the lid and flushed the toilet.
With the help of Pablo, you sat on top of the lid as you wiped your mouth looking down at your lap.
"Amor" Pablo crounched down and you looked at him feeling embarrassed and not wanting to worry him "Hey, hey... Look at me"
"I'm fine" You whispered softly
"Don't lie to me straight to my face, please" You looked away and sighed "You throwing up daily these past days and you throwing up three times today while it's barely even 2pm is worrying me. This is not just a stomach bug anymore"
"Don't worry, please" You whisper
"How could I just not worry? You're my wife, I'm always worried that something may happen to you and the fact you're just dismissing this is worrying me even more"
"I honestly don't feel bad" You look into his brown eyes "I'm just really tired lately and I feel really hungry out of nowhere"
"But then you throw up" You nod wanting to cry
"I don't know what's happening to me" You hid your face into your hands and start breaking bit by bit
"Hey no, don't cry"
You feel Pablo's arms tightening around your frame and soon you are feeling his lips on top of your hand, exactly where your cheek is, you quickly push that hand away to allow him to kiss your skin as your hand mets his cheek lovingly.
"I know you don't like doctors" He starts as you turn to face him as he wipes your tears away "but I think it'll be good if we check what's going on, if its the flu-"
"Baby" You cut him off shakking your head
"-maybe you have a low value, platelets? hemoglobin? what do I know, but we can discard anything. Please" His eyes pleaded you "I just don't like seeing you like this, I want you healthy. Always"
You also didn't like feeling like this and after a few seconds, you nodded.
"Okay" You nod
"Okay?" He asks with a small smile as you nod softly "Okay" You kiss his ear softly
"Can you pass me my toothbrush, please?"
"I will kiss you right now"
"Ew, no" You shook your head
"I will" He leaned in as you leaned back "Y/N"
"No" You laughed
"Gimme a kiss" You shook your head
"I will give you a kiss after I brush my teeth"
"I really don't care about it, you can give a kiss now and a kiss after"
"No!" You laugh and soon he joins leaning in to kkiss your cheek before he removes himself from you and goes to the sink to look for your toothbrush
"Al cabo que ni quería, que te huele la boca horrible" (After all, I didn't even want to, because your mouth smells horrible) His tone let you know he was teasing you
"I just threw up!"
"¡Fua, que horrible!" (how awful!)
"¡Pablo Martín, ven acá que te beso de una!" (come here and I'll kiss you!)
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
"So, you already went to the doctor?" Aurora said as you nod softly drinking from your ice coffee "What did it say?"
"I'm good, everything's good" You say "but I'm still taking some vitamins just in case" She nods
You had gone to the doctor with Pablo, two weeks ago and did every kind of tests, to make sure nothing was out of place or had some kind of virus and stuff. Nothing, absolutely nothing was wrong.
"And the throwing up?"
"It's not often now" You shrug "I think it was some burrito I had" You say not minding it but then you yawned
"You feel tired?" You nod
"I don't know why. I mean, I took a nap before coming here but I guess work has been hetic and I guess I was just catching up on it" You look at her smiling softly when out of nowhere you felt hungry and looked confused "I'm hungry" You said "I want an avocado with chocolate ice cream"
"You what?"
"I'm craving some avocado with chocolate ice cream" You said simply "Do you think they'll sell it here?" You looked around "Maybe with a cracker too"
"Y/N" Aurora said but you didn't heard her, too busy looking for a waitress "Cariño" You looked at her waiting for her to speak
"Can I have some of your ice cream? I'm really hungry and I don't think they will sell that here, the most I'll get are weird looks from everyone" She only handed you her ice cream to see you dig into it
"When was the last time you had your period?" You hum inserting two full spoons of ice cream into your mouth
"I don't know" You shrug softly "I can't remember very well right now... I think it was the 25th?"
"Month?" You stopped eating ice cream and got serious knowing where she was getting into, you look around for your phone "The last time I got my period was two months ago" You looked at Aurora "Aurora..."
"Are you regular?" You nod "We need to do a test"
"But it's impossible, I already did blood tests nothing came out of it"
"Maybe they didn't do a pregnancy test? I don't know but there's a possibility of you being pregnant"
"Are you kidding me?"
"Does it look like I'm kidding you?" You whined starting to eat once again the ice cream "I feel so happy right now"
"What if he doesn't want it?" You asked "I mean... We talked about it but we never started trying for it"
"Pablo's crazy for you, he loves you and he talks about a future with you, he would love to have a baby with you"
"We don't even know if I am pregnant or not"
"And that's why I'm here for. Let's buy a test"
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
"Ok, one minute left" You said sitting on Pablo's side of the bed "Two lines pregnant and one line not pregnant" You say and Aurora nods going over to hug you "I'm so nervous, I don't even think I peed right"
"What?"
"I don't even know what I'm saying"
"Calm down"
"How can I calm down if there's a possibility of having a half Pablo and a half me inside of me right now?" You ask standing up "Is the minute done, now?"
"It has gone barely five seconds" She looks at her phone
"Why time goes fast in some things and slow with ohters? I need this already" You whine as Aurora laughs
"Babygirl, don't worry too much. If it is, it'll be the most loved baby in this world both by its parents and by its whole family. And if it's not it'll be a false alarm"
"A false alarm I kinda want to be true" You said "After you told me about that, I have been thinking and thinking of it and I just- I don't know" You lift your shoulders "I want to be pregnant" You said softly looking at your sister-in-law
"Your time will come, Y/N/N. And if the time's now, it'll be the right one" And as if it was by magic, the timer went off "Are you ready?"
"I'm nervous" You said
"You want me to watch it?" You doubted for a few seconds before shaking your head
"I go" You went inside the bathroom and grabbed one of the three tests. You sighed deeply before looking down at your hand.
Two lines.
Your breath got caught in your throat, you quickly grabbed the other two and the answer was the same.
Two lines.
Pregnant.
You were shaking and feel your heart full, you smiled and teared up before crossing your hands around your yet non-existent belly. "Dear lord. I'm pregnant" You whisper looking down at yourself with a big smile
"Y/N?" You hear Aurora ask and went out "What is it?"
"I think you need to help me get some ideas on how to tell Pablo, he's going to be a dad" Her mouth opened and screams, from both of you were heard.
"I'M GONNA BE AN AUNTIE"
"AND I'M GONNA BE A MOM"
"A sexy one, by the way"
"Oh shut up" You laugh "That explains my sudden mood changes, my weird cravings, the throwing up, everything"
"You're having baby Páez inside of you. If it's a boy like Pablo, he'll suck the energy out of you" You both laugh "I remember mom being drained out after putting an annoying Pablo to sleep"
"Shit. I'm pregnant" You say once again "How do I tell this to him?"
"Right, we gotta find the way to tell my brother"
Three days have passed since you knew that you were pregnant and you couldn't hold back the news anymore and almost messed up the surprise you and Aurora, prepared.
The doorbell rangs and you instantly run towards the door.
"It's mine!" You announce watching how Pablo was already standing up to get it
"Careful, amor!"
"I got it! I'm alright!" You said opening the door to find the package Aurora left for you a few seconds ago on the floor. You picked it up, turning around "AH!" You yell scared, you didn't expected your husband to be behind you "Joder, amor. Me has asustado" (Fuck, baby. You scared me)
"I'm sorry" He smiled softly coming over to side hug you "What's that?"
"I-uhm... A little something I bought"
"Uhm" He said with his lips pressed to your cheek "May I ask what?"
"A little something for you, well us but you'll see soon"
"I'm curious. Let's open it?"
"This is just like the invoice of the purchase, what I bought comes around eight? seven? months" You said a bit unsure
"What did you bought? Something handcrafted? Why it takes so long to arrive?" You smile
"You can say that. It's in the making" You nod
"Now, I'm hella curious" He smiled "You know, you didn't have to gift me anything, amor"
"Well, it's something that just came up, it was unexpected but yeah... it's done already"
"What did you bought? And why is the invoice in that big box? Why did it came earlier and not with the package?"
"You're asking way too many questions, Pabs" You laugh nervous "but this has the answers" You gave him the white box
"You didn't killed anybody, right?"
"Oh dear god, just open that box" You say wanting to eat your nails
"Ok, I will" He said shooting you a smile before he undid the bow and opened the box "What...?"
After learning you were pregnant, you and Aurora went to the hospital and asked for an ultrasound, in there you found out you were one month and three weeks into the pregnancy. You bought small baby socks and a small barcelona jersey with the iconic GAVI 6.
You also did a small note that read "Hola papá. ¡Espero conocerte pronto, te quiero mucho! Att: Baby Páez Y/L/N" (Hi daddy. I look forward to meeting you soon, love you!) along with the pregnancy test you did
"What does this means?" He asked, his eyes lighting up with hope. "Is this...?" You smile to your husband and softly nod
"We're pregnant"
"Joder, Y/N. Thank you so much, mi vida!" He said hugging you tightly "You don't even know how happy I am, right now" You laughed "I'll be a daddy and you will be the most amazing mom, ever. Thank you so much, amor, thank you, thank you" He kissed you several times around your face "Joder, we are pregnant"
"We are" You said smiling
"Thank you for this blessing, mi vida. My little but perfect familia. Los amo a ambos" (I love you both) His hand caressed your flat tummy as you peck his lips smiling
"Y nosotros a ti, guapo" (And we love you, handsome)

A/N: Okay y'all, time to finally put this baby to rest. I was going to wait a little bit longer to do this next part, but with Gavi's injury I needed something to keep me off the Emergency Medicine Manual on ear lacerations. And now Joao is here??? It's just the right time. The universe said so.

Previously on Just Pretend
"She didn't look at the age. She didn't have to. Her eyes landed on the name: Pablo Martín Páez Gavira. One of the best young football players in the world had just used her as a banister. "Now that you know I'm not a kid, next time, you should let me buy you a drink.""
~
"He tried to think of something sad, something painful, anything besides the fact that you were leaning over him, touching him so gently while he was in his boxers."
~
""Don't you think it's a little desperate of you to take off work for a date?"
You looked up at him seething. He stood with his bag strapped over his shoulder, hands in his pockets, hood up to cover his wet hair. His eyes were stern and cold, the usual fire behind them having died down to leave frigid disgust. You would be lying if you said you didn't know about how the Barca men got rid of their sexual frustrations.
"Oh I'm sorry. Next time, Gavi, I'll be classy like you and have weekly sex in a club bathroom.""
~
"It broke him to see you like this - shaking and in tears in a club bathroom, while the man you were trying to impress was probably grinding on other girls. Gavi told himself it had nothing to do with you specifically, just fairness. You were objectively a good person, and you deserved to be treated well by everyone around you. He tugged your shoulder, bringing you in for a tight embrace. You tucked your head into his shoulder, allowing your tears to fall more freely now that he couldn't see you. Something in you began to calm. It was like Gavi had flipped a switch."
~
""You can yell at me all you want. You can be angry at the fact that I care about you. You can punch me," he hit on his chest, "right here if you want to. But I am not a child. Don't refer to me as one. So you can go an be upset and pretend that everything I do is selfish, but you know deep down that no matter how much you push me away, I'm looking out for your best interest." He opened the door and stepped aside.
"Drive safely, doctora.""
~
""No I'm serious. You were having a panic attack in your car. At least... At least come inside and eat something. Maybe have some tea? Anything. I just... want to make sure that you're okay before you leave me."
With wide eyes, you looked up at Gavi after this statement. His cheeks burned, realizing he had slipped up.
"Leave my house. Just come inside.""
~
""Can... can we do something? To help me sleep? But then promise you'll forget about it tomorrow?"
Pablo swallowed hard for the nth time that night. He hesitated. There was no way he could promise to forget a single moment of this night with you, but he could control himself from speaking about it, and that was all he really needed to do.
"Anything.""
~
""Don't leave." He said, voice dry and raspy. You weren't sure if he meant now or the club. You moved your hand to join it with the one on your wrist, giving a gentle squeeze of reassurance, as he had done for you.
"Don't worry. I'll be right back.""
~
""I wish I could go back to then, sometimes."
"Why is that?"
"I had friends back then."
He looked at you in a strange manner, shifting one strand of hair behind your ear.
"Are we not friends, Doctora?"
"For better or worse, you're my best friend, Pablo.""
~
Gavi's heartstrings were so tight they were ready to snap. He had prayed to hear so many different things from you, but never realized that this recognition, this pride expressed so freely, would be the most meaningful. This was it. This was the moment. Suit on, trophy in hand, this was the moment to express how much needed you in his life in a different way. How much he needed to keep making you proud.
~
And now, months later...
The rays of early-morning light danced around the disheveled bedroom, bouncing across t-shirts and socks littering the floor and bedside table. They reflected across the buzzing phone screen, emitting a shrill beeping that disrupted the serenity that accompanied this time of the day. Try as he might to shield his ears with the fluff of his 'cuddling pillow', the sound penetrated through, stirring him from dreams of pretty eyes and soft lips. Squinting, the numbers on his screen prompted him to groan, rolling out of his warm sheets and onto the chill of the tile floor, needing to shower and dress before Pedri began his ritual of calling him on repeat until his butt was seated on the plush leather of the newly purchased Lambo.
The steam rippled off his sore muscles, and he lathered his mint-scented shampoo in his hands, Pablo cracked his first smile of the day at the thought of your hands on his shoulders the moment you got to work, or in the calm hours after. The whole house lingered with traces of you, but the bathroom was the worst. He had slowly but surely photographed everything in your own bathroom, replicating your set up in his much more luxurious marble shower. From hair to body to skincare, he had every bottle perfectly arranged for you to use on those days when the shared warmth of Pablo's body against yours was too much to overcome, and he lead you upstairs for a night in his arms. Or even better (and yet also worse), when the two of you remained entangled on what Gavi referred to as the "love sofa", waking up with muscle aches and bad breath, but always with the upmost feelings of content.
Every step of Pablo's morning had slowly but surely started revolving around you. He was floating, weightless in your alluring orbit. Su Sol. Su vida. The deodorant he rolled on was never out of stock under his cabinet, and it never would be since you cuddled into him and said he smelled like the ocean. He had spent his weeks in America (when not bedridden) searching for bottles of 1 million, the cologne that you secretly sprayed on the pillows before bed and onto every item of clothing you 'borrowed'. The hair gel was at the back of the cabinet, fated to collect dust because of a gentle run of your fingers and a whisper that you loved when Pablo was "all soft and fluffy".
And as he slipped on his training shirt, the ringing started. He knew it was Pedri informing him that he was at the door, and he hurried as much as possible, as to prevent the ring tone from driving him to the brink of madness. He scurried down the stairs, careful not to crack his head open while running in socks (well, not to crack it open again). He grabbed his bag from its hook by the door, slipping on his shoes. Before exiting, he looked at the wall beside the door. He ran his fingers up the taped photographs slowly. They dragged across the young faces of his old teammates, over is mother and father and sister on a white-sand beach, dancing past the collection of pictures from the Supercopa and the Ballon D'or, and rested on the only picture frame hanging on the wall. It was one of those tacky pink ones that stores sold on Valentine's day, with AMOR written in chunky red glitter. He was sat on your chair at work, your stethoscope around his neck and you perched in his lap in your red scrubs. His right cheek was smooshed from the force of the kiss you left on it, bright red lipstick already marking his other cheek and his lips. He leaned forward, placing a swift kiss to the cool glass, before running out the door to finally stop the incessant calls.
"You know if you had been three minutes later, we would have had to skip the coffee shop." Pedri said, pulling out before the passenger door was fully shut.
"I would rather walk to training than skip that."
"How much money do you make to be buying your girl a large coffee every morning?"
"I would sell my house to keep buying her coffee in the morning."
The words 'that's a little extreme' stopped on the tip of Pedri's tongue - if Gavi was not going to be extreme in his love, then who would be?
~
"And finally, Nicolas, we have the physio who will be overseeing much of your work. I'll be introducing you two now."
It was comforting to know that Dr. Gonzalez was just as dry with everyone. The muffled words came with a swift three knocks at the door, and he peaked his head in before you could release the permission from your lips.
"May we enter, Doctora?"
"Yes, of course, Dr. Gonzalez. I have no players on my schedule until 8:30. Please come in, make yourselves comfortable."
He entered with a tall, muscular boy behind him, his dark curls falling in front of his bright blue eyes. His scrubs shirt puckered in the chest area, in danger of bursting due to a deep breath. He shuffled in awkwardly, opting to stand behind Dr. Gonzalez rather than occupy the seat next to him.
"Now, Nicolas. Before you is a shining example of what the individuals in your program are capable of achieving. This is-"
"Oh! You're Doctora Gavira!"
There was a moment of radio silence that circled the room, before you had the courage to whisper out, "...what?"
"Nicolas, don't interrupt." Dr. Gonzalez decided to ignore what the new kid had just called you. "This is Doctora y/n y/l/n, who many people refer to as just Doctora. Please do not do that without her explicit permission. She joined us a little over a year ago from the same program you are in, and has been an effective technician who has brought medical success to the club. Barring any tragedies like pregnancy, she will become the club's Assistant Head of Physiotherapy. Despite your initial examination being slightly more disappointing than hers, we believe you can excel under her mentorship. You will be fired upon her first complaint. I'll leave you two alone now to be acquainted. Doctora, please allow him to shadow you through the medical examinations happening today. Thank you both."
Nicolas sat in shock at all the insults that had just been so casually shot through him while you smiled sweetly and waived your boss out the door. As soon as the click of the door was heard, your smile dropped and you were leaning menacingly over the desk.
"Okay, confess right now or lose your job: who told you to call me Doctora Gavira"
"What? I- no one! Are you not married to Gavi?"
"Where would you get that idea?" You asked while sitting back down, the visible tremble in the boy before you extinguishing the anger within you.
"Well, I walked into work this morning and you were getting out of your car and I was saying hey to Ronald who I met during my interview and I said 'oh who is that she's really cute' and he was like 'oh that's the Doctora and you should be careful saying stuff about her because she's Gavi's girl and he will rip your throat out and then she will sew it back into your body' and so after that I just assumed you were his wife because like footballers aren't usually that serious about their girlfriends and I follow a bunch of Gavi fan accounts and none even said that you were his girlfriend because there's this other girl who is actually kind of awful-"
His tangent was only interrupted by a soft knocking at your office door. You yelled for whatever angel to enter, grateful from the save from the worst verbal diarrhea you had seen in years. And it was the sweetest angel of all who poked his head through the door, hair freshly washed and frizzing slightly in the August humidity. He held a large chilled coffee in one hand, using the free one to rest his weight on the back of your chair. He leaned down to complete his routine with a good morning kiss, but the look you gave Pablo over the rim of your glasses made him hesitate. It was then that he noticed the individual sat across from you. Locking eyes with him, Pablo opted for a kiss on the crown of your head, muttering a gentle “Bon día, mi doctora.”
Nicolas' eyes followed the way your hand smoothed over Gavi's bicep in the most obvious way possible, and it had the young Sevillano tensing.
"Pablo," you started before he could come up with his own conclusions, "meet Nicolas. He's going to be training under me for his work placement."
"Nice to meet you, Pablo!" Shooting up out of his chair, he extended a sweaty handshake that was left hanging in the air.
"Gavi."
"Huh?"
"Call me Gavi."
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought because-"
"You want to call me the same name my girlfriend does?" A smile played across Pablo's lips: he was obviously joking, but the intern before him shook like a leaf and sweat bullets, hand still frozen in the air. Letting out a soft laugh, Pablo took his hand, embracing the new intern and reassuring him that he wasn't about to be slaughtered.
"All the boys call me Gavi - don't want you to feel out of place. Welcome to the club. You have the best teacher - I would know."
"Right! Because she's you're girlfriend!"
"Because she's the physiotherapist that's been working on me for the last year..."
Silence once again.
"Nicolas, maybe you should go watch the warmups. I'll be out in a few minutes. Field is out the door to your left."
The boy sent you a look of gratitude to be freed from ... whatever that was. He all but ran out the door, leaving it slightly ajar as Pablo watched him turn the corner, finally having enough privacy to capture you in the delicate kiss he had been waiting for since he saw you a mere 10 hours ago.
"Bon dia, Pablito. Did you sleep well?"
"Not as well as when you're next to me."
Despite asking the same question for weeks on end, he always gave the same answer. It was about a month into the two of you officially dating when he asked you to move into his place. Of course you vehemently declined, citing reasons such as not being able to break your lease and not wanting to intrude on his space. But deep down there was the unspoken truth. Every day you held your breath waiting for Pablo's answer to change. To tell you that he had slept just fine on his own, and that he may sleep even better beside someone else. The day had yet to come, and a small part of you dared to hope it never would.
"That sounds rough. Any way I can make it up to you for going home?"
"Here? In your office? I mean if you insist..."
You smacked him playfully on the arm as both of your giggled filled your office space. Pablo was acutely aware of the fact that every time he spoke to you about the subject, it was in vague terms and half truths. Pablo wanted you to move in more than he wanted almost anything else. In his mind it was the perfect scenario: he would wake up with you enveloped by his arms, breathing rhythmically against his skin. You would get into the shower, hot water rolling down your spine as he laid out your scrubs (the red and black ones were his favorites). He would make you a coffee on the ridiculously expensive espresso machine that would be arriving in 7-14 business days - right after your school and work joint evaluation. The drive to work would be filled with soft melodies and hushed conversations. The drive home would be more vibrant, with Pablito on the AUX and the windows rolled down. And then he would get to come home and help you make dinner, trying not to burn or spill as he set two porcelain dining bowls on the coffee table, under the watchful, scowling eyes of the two of you frozen in a photo. Then he would lay his head back on the couch, his chin on your crown, running his fingers up and down your back to trace your spine. The TV would be playing reruns of the same show for the thousandth time, but it didn't matter. It was the best possible feeling Pablo knew: familiarity.
It was hard being a generational talent. Sure, it came with tons of admiration and praise, but it was also riddled with constant change. Changing your hometown for a big new city. Trading your neighborhood full of friends for an academy of classmates, who you were always reminded were your competition. Exchanging hugs from mom and home-cooked meals with yelled instructions and drills in the rain. Even now, after years of playing with the first team and reaping the success, Pablo couldn't help but think about how nice it would be to stay in one city all the time, taking one set of roads that he could memorize.
But now he had you. And not in the same way as before. In a sense, he always had you. No matter how much you were irritated with the boy, you were always a phone call away. You were always ready to help heal his ailments, despite the eye-rolls that came with it. And when he had come to you at his most vulnerable, trembling hands and open heart, you had been as you always were: ready to take him as he was and treat him with delicacy and love.
No matter where Gavi went, there was still something familiar with him. When he was on a red-eye to Madrid, he could lead against the curve of your shoulder, breathing in the familiar scent of your hair and feeling the warmth of your skin. On a tiring night after training, he could always come home and be beside you, tracing the curves of your body that he had memorized, every mark and dip on your skin a landmark that reminded him he was home. The sound of your voice was melodic and soothing, and he could never get enough of the way you said his name.
"Mi Pablito."
Now was no different. The sound of your scrubs shifting, the chill of your coffee against his palm, the way your lips moved against his, so soft with delicate pressure - all of it he already knew, and that was the best part.
"Are you going to come over tonight?"
He always asked. Again, he knew the answer was going to be a huff followed by a shy 'of course', and yet he asked anyways. He loved the stability and the routine. He loved hearing you say that he was the person you preferred to spend your time with.
"Mm of course, mi Pablito. But I might be a little late. I have a lot of paperwork."
"Late? As in, you wouldn't go home with me?" Pablo's pout was adorable, puffy and pink and complemented by his beautiful brown eyes that reflected the fluorescent lights.
"I'm going to try my best not to be here too long, but it's looking like I'm going to be a while. I have to finish the reports about your improvement over the last year for my evaluation next week, do the medical examinations for the new first team members, and now I have this new kid Nicolas."
"First team players? Iñigo and Oriol finished their exams weeks ago. Besides, tomorrow is deadline day. Why would they leave the medical exams until now." Pablo was already stripping off his shirt and laying in your table, ready for you to help with his persistent back pain. You had initially thought he was lying, searching for any reason to have your hands on him during business hours. But then you actually felt his latissimus and erector spinae, and they were so tensed that for a moment you thought about injecting a relaxer into his lower back. So every morning he came in for tension relief at your magical fingertips. But the coos of "aw poor baby" and you leaned over him for half an hour every morning was definitely not going to illicit any complaints.
"Oh, well, there's still more medical procedures to be done. Fermin and Lamine have to be re-examined since Luca forgot tests 12.4 and 17.1. And Joao needs to get his examination." You placed your hands on Pablo's back, apologizing softly for how cold they were. Your first session after the two of you had gotten together, he threatened to burn every latex glove in the club. He hated the way they felt, and now that he was having a lot of skin-to-skin time, he felt that the gloves were pointless.
"Oh, I forgot that Cancelo had flown in. He's going to do wonders for our defense. Just like you're doing wonders for my back, mi amor." He allowed his eyes to flutter shut, breathing deeply and focusing on the feeling of your fingertips. Looking over your shoulder, you ensured the hallway was empty before leaning down to kiss the gentle dip where his spine was. It released a little giggle from Pablo, who tutted and said that you were trouble.
"Just relax. You think I would ever get you in trouble?"
"Oh I was in trouble the first moment that I saw you, mi Doctora."
Before you could respond, your office door swung open, and Nicolas' worried face was staring back at you.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Doctora!! I should have knocked! I didn't realize you were... occupied."
"Why did you pause before- you know what, I don't want to know. What's up Nicolas?"
"Mister Xavi wanted me to tell you that Joao is here on the field, and that he should be examined as soon as possible so he can join the morning training."
Your fingers stilled and your eyebrows knitted together in confusion. Gavi felt your shift but remained silent. When the two of you first started dating, he had been very protective, borderline your official spokesperson in the club. He would tell the other players you couldn't meet with them when he knew you had paperwork, and would react harshly to those who questioned your medical decisions. It had gotten you reprimanded by Dr. G, who had reminded you that your relationship should not interfere with your work. And you didn't need to be a genius to know that the players being too intimidated to get physiotherapy was 'interference with work'.
"I had him on the schedule for later this afternoon. I guess Mister wants him training earlier. I have 10 minutes left with Gavi, and then we'll both be out on the practice field."
Just as Gavi's eyes began to droop and his muscles relaxed enough for him to drift into a peaceful sleep, you were by his ear whispering for him to wake up.
"Come on, mi campeon - you have to go to training."
"Mm I don't want to," he mumbled as he rolled over, abs on display as he smiled up at you. "It's so nice and comfortable here."
You rested your hands on his hips, tracing them slowly up his slow stomach, leaving a trail of heat in your path. They continued upward until your palms lay flat on his pecs, and you leaned in to place a gentle kiss on the tip of his nose.
"Stay here then. Take a little nap while I finish the medicals. In the meantime, they'll have Fermin take your place, and then he'll win the Golden Boy next year, and maybe he'll fall in love with his physio on the sidelines..."
"Ah yes, I can see it now," he said, "the beautiful story between Fermin and his physio... Nicolas."
You both burst out laughing at the mental image of the tall Nicolas sweeping Fermin into a homoerotic, Mbappe-Giroud embrace after he scored a goal. You walked over to the chair, tossing Gavi his training shirt and watching it slip back over the defined, rippling muscle, remaining taunt against his biceps. He opened the door for you, placing a hand on the small of your back to guide you towards the field. The 9am sun was beaming on the late August grass, reflecting the dew on the grass and the beads of sweat glistening on the boys that were running laps and stretching (some better than others - you made a mental note of who you would probably be seeing later). Pablo shot you a quick wink before scurrying off towards his peers.
"Bon dia, Doctora!" The yell came from across the pitch, and was accompanied by the excited waves from Fermin and Balde, who were having the time of their lives making fun of their whipped friend. Pedri had been part of that group initially, joining in on the taunting before games about how he was looking for injuries just to have her run onto the field. He had lingered with the other boys in the locker room to point out any bruises or scratches that Pablo had acquired, teasing him about 'finally getting some'. But since you had become best friends with his crush/ nemesis, it had become a lot harder to make fun of the younger boy without repercussions.
The older players had been overjoyed for the two of you, especially uncle Lewy. His bond with Gavi was special to him, and far surpassed just their relationship on the field. He saw his younger self in Pablo, and couldn't help the feeling he got watching the boy fall in love. The way that Gavi was fiercely protective of you, so excited to watch you shine, reminded him of Anna and all the light she brought to his life. It was a sight that made everyone's chest swell - watching the two of you interlock fingers and walk to your car every evening, smiling sweetly and leaning against each other. Robert hoped that the happiness Gavi felt was lifelong.
"Bon dia, Mister." You approached the coach and he met you with a smile and a clap on the shoulder.
"Doctora, always a good morning when we have you with us during practice."
"I'm flattered, coach. I heard from Nicolas that you wanted me to do Joao's medical now? I was scheduled to oversee morning practice and complete his medical this afternoon. Has there been a change in what needs to be done today so I can adjust the schedule?" You asked, watching the players do their drills.
"Oh, I guess we didn't send out a memo. Not surprising, because the deal was finalized last night. You're correct, Cancelo is going to arrive within the hour and be examined in the afternoon. However, Joao had already arrived and is currently changing. I think his exam should go quickly, given that you can work off of his previous La Liga paperwork, which should be in your email. I would really appreciate if you could complete it now so that he can join the second half of this morning's training."
If the confusion wasn't evident across your face, you decided to vocalize it.
"Sorry, Mister, but isn't Cancelo Joao? Is there something I'm missing?"
"Oh," he laughed out, "my apologies. I announced it before warm-ups began, but you were still in your morning session with Gavi. The club has secured a loan deal for this season for Joao Felix from Atletico. He should be waiting for you in the hall by your office."
Gavi watched the color drain from your face from across the field, and you couldn't help the feeling of anxiety that flooded your system. If you hadn't heard the announcement, then neither had Pablo, and given your track record with Felix, you knew that it wasn't going to be his favorite news.
"Ah, that's great news!" You tried to sound as enthusiastic as possible. "I just need to get Nicolas so he can shadow me and give the boys some stretch instructions before you get started with the team drills. Do you mind?" Xavi indicated for you to step on the field, and you all but sprinted over to Gavi and his teammates. Nicolas stood there, trying his best not to die of anxiety while chatting with the players and taking notes on the specific stretches that each one of them has been assigned by you.
"Hi Doctora." The greeting came from Ferran, who, after several weeks of therapy, had reached out to you to apologize for his behavior. He was keeping his relationship professional, and the personal growth you had seen was surprising. It didn't erase the hurt he had caused you, but allowed you to work with him without wanting to punch him in the face. Maybe after some more time (and therapy), you could be as friendly with him as the boys were.
"Hi Ferran. Looking good, boys. Pedri, that right hamstring needs more work." You quickly shot out, receiving a sigh as he worked out his leg for the third time. The rest of the boys looked like they were ready to engage in small-talk, but you beat them to it.
"So, are you guys excited about the new signings coming in today?" You asked, bouncing on one leg to the other.
"Very. I think Felix is going to be a fantastic contribution to the last third of the field. Will really help our attacking power." Pedri said absent-mindedly, grimacing at the effort necessary to help release the tension in his thigh.
"Felix?" Gavi was obviously confused, eyebrows stitching together, making him look even more angry bird-like than usual.
"Oh, right, you weren't here." Fermin said, turning to his childhood friend. "They finalized Joao Felix. He's arriving today and training with us after his medical exam."
"Which I'm about to go do right now." You added on quickly, hoping to rip off the Band-Aid.
"You're going to be alone with Felix?" Gavi asked in what was probably a louder tone than intended. Pablo would never describe himself with the word 'jealous'. Why would he be? He knew what he brought to the table. He was cute, successful, and was absolutely head-over-heels in love with you in a way that bordered obsession. He knew that the Portuguese playboy had nothing on him in that respect. But whenever he thought back to the stories you had told him about your first meeting with Felix, or back to the Ballon D'or when he had so effortlessly wrapped himself around you, it made the bile rise in his throat.
"Well," you tried to ignore the looks of the players around you, with their ears pricked up and waiting waiting with baited breath for your response. "Not alone. Nicolas is going to be there."
Silence. A beat passed. The another. Then another and another until the silence grew almost unbearable.
"Alright, mi Doctora. See you during the break, then." Pablo's soft eyes reached yours, and you unexpectedly found not a singular trace of negative feeling. Not one heat flare of jealousy or anger crossed his features, and it was borderline unsettling.
~
Pablo's eyes remained trained on you as you re-emerged, Nicolas to your left and Joao flanking the right. The three of you spoke freely and lightly, and Gavi strained his ears to try and listen in on what had the trio giggling. As Nicolas departed to report back to Dr. G, you continued towards Pablo with Joao by your side.
"I know you two have met and shoved each other many times," You said, extending your hand to help pull Pablo to his feet. "But I thought it was time to introduce the two of you on friendly terms. Pablo, this is Joao Felix, our new striker. And Joao this is Gavi, our brilliant golden boy midfielder and," you waved at him to lean in closer, "my brilliant boyfriend." The wink you shot him had Pablo blushing like a schoolgirl, and Joao clapped him on the shoulder affectionately.
"Ay, look at that. Always the winner, irmao. The doutora was actually a big part in helping me come to the club of my dreams, so I'm really thankful for her."
"Really?" Pablo questioned.
"Remember? I told you I was reviewing his health profile. We did it together actually when I was over for-"
"For when Aurora was in town. You're right."
You left the boys shortly after, sitting at your desk anxiously. You knew that Gavi's reaction was... uncharacteristic at best. He had been very unhappy when he found out that you were reviewing his file for a transfer. Help was also a relative term...
"Mi vida, you can't be serious!"
"Pablo, they didn't ask me for my personal opinion on the matter. They sent me the medical profile of a player for a injury probability analysis and fitness examination. They didn't even include his full name."
"Right. J. F. from Atletico Madrid. What a mystery!"
Pablo flopped onto the bed, arms crossed and pouting as he got under the covers. He looked down at his lap, praying that you didn't use the J-word. He wasn't jealous. He wasn't. Feelings like jealousy and insecurity never found their way into his system. But he just... didn't like it. He didn't like the idea that someone was walking around thinking about you in a sinful manner. He replayed over and over in his head your account of the first time you had met 'Portugal boy'. How he 'hoped to see more of you'. Sick bastard. Your sweet, innocent mind had let the comment slide quickly, interpreting it as him wanting to see you around. But Pablo, who had spent the last year of his life trying to protect you from creeps and weirdos (his colleagues), he looked into it more deeply. See more of you meant see more of you, aka your body. Now Pablo was in bed seething at his own theories. Of Joao flirting with you, getting you alone, getting hard from your gentle touches as you simply did you job, and then...
"No. I don't like it. Just lie and say that he's too mentally ill for the club. We already have Ferran and Pedri - the club therapists are overworked." He pulled the covers up to his chin and turned his back to you, and you could tell that he was genuinely distressed. You crawled under the covers as well, your nightgown shifting up around your legs.
"Aw, lito, come here." You slid into the space behind him, tugging on his arm lightly to get him to unravel. He let himself go slack, allowing you to pull him into you. You turned him to lay on your chest, shell of his ear tuned into the rhythmic breathing of your heart. You pulled his arm around your waist, and he couldn't resist the urge to cuddle closer into you. One hand came up to gently rake your nails through his soft locks. The pressure of your lips on his crown allowed him to release a shaky breath. "Talk to me."
"I just... I don't know. When you bring him up it just turns my stomach." The pout could be heard in his voice as he brought the rest of his body into your side.
"Are you jealous?"
"No of course not." He breathed out all at once. "I would like to think our relationship is stronger than your old celebrity crush working with you." He felt the vibration of your chest as you giggled, and it lightened up the heavy feeling in his core. "But it just... doesn't feel good. Knowing there's someone else who wants you and gets to be so close to you."
You refrained from telling Pablo that was the literal definition of jealousy. And simultaneously, he refrained from telling you that a small, very very tiny part of his brain wasn't sure that you wouldn't leave him for Joao. The man was beautiful, there was absolutely no denying it, and had experience being in a long term committed relationship. It certainly didn't help that Joao was two years your senior. Pablo's insecurity around his age fluctuated in intensity, but was persistently present. It had gotten worse the more strangers found out about your relationship. When he told his friends back in Sevilla, he was met with wolf whistles and encouragement to 'improve quickly' before you left for someone more 'experienced'.
And now Pablo's brain was moving rapidly, thinking about all the small jabs his friends had made about your sexual life. "Just make sure she isn't faking it." That particular one had come from Pedri of all people, who rapidly realized his attempt at a harmless joke had sent the younger boy spiraling. Were you faking? Did you want someone who had slept with more women? Were your instructions about where he should move or how hard he should go normal? Or was that a product of sleeping with someone freshly 19?
"Do you wish I was older?"
Pablo had asked this question often, but always got the same answer. He always got the reassurance that you knew he needed in difficult moments.
"Of course not, Pablo. I don't wish anything about you, or about us, was different. Except maybe I wish we would have gotten together sooner." You punctuated the sentiment with another soft kiss to his head, cradling him close to your chest. He didn't relax this time, however. He followed up with a question that had been plaguing him since the two of you got together, but that he never had the courage to know the answer to.
"Do you... wish I was better at sex?"
You were frozen as Pablo buried his burning cheeks into your side, embarrassed by the way he had decided to phrase his query. You brought your hand up to grasp his chin and turn him to meet your eyes.
"Why would you ask that?"
"I don't know, it's just... something I've been thinking about."
"Has the sex not been good for you?"
"No! No of course not," he sat up on one elbow, trying to quickly remedy the situation so that you both wouldn't stay up until the early hours riddled with anxiety.
"I've just been thinking because... well one time me and the boys were talking..."
"Oh no here we go."
"And Pedri mentioned how it kind of takes a long time to get girls to finish."
"Mhm..."
"And then Fermin agreed."
"I can't believe you guys had this discussion in front of baby Fermin." You clasped a hand over your mouth.
"He's older than I am and that's not the point. Focus, mi doctora. So they were talking about things to make a girl finish faster and naturally I was confused because you don't take that long to finish."
"Pablo please tell me you didn't-"
"I obviously didn't say 'oh my girl cums in under 5 minutes', but I just disagreed with them." Your head was in your hands as he continued his story.
"So then they were like no no it takes forever, especially the first time. And I said that the last time I had sex with a new girl, it only took me like 10 minutes." You were bright red, unable to respond to the news that the team was hearing how long your average orgasm took.
"And then Pedri said that you might be faking it and that's why it didn't take a long time. And then I asked why a girl would fake it and he said because when the guy can't lay pipe well the girl gets bored and fakes it so the sex can end faster. And I know that I really like having sex with you but I don't know if you like having sex with me so-"
You interrupted Pablo by grabbing his chin and pulling him towards you, kissing his pouting lips mid sentence. It was too much - too adorable for you to control yourself.
"Pablito, I love you." You held his face in your hands, just watching the way his beautiful eyes reflected the low light of the bedside lamp.
"It's okay, you can tell me if I'm bad." He said softly, genuinely waiting for his feelings to be hurt.
"You're not bad, Pablo. Not even close. You're actually... okay don't start dancing when I say this but you're the best sex I've ever had."
You could feel the blood pool to his cheeks and the muscles tense to repress a smile.
"Is that so? Please feel free to elaborate." You rolled your eyes, knowing you were feeding his ego, but knowing he probably needed it in that moment.
"I've had sex with other people and none of them... well they never got me to finish, you know? I didn't even think I could finish during sex before you."
Pablo's head dripped to rest against your chest, face nestled in the valley of your breasts, breath labored against you. Your words were most certainly turning him on. He brought his hands to your thighs, playing with the hem of your satin slip, and you knew you were not going to be sleeping for the foreseeable future.
"Can you... can you keep talking, mi amor?" Who were you to deny your baby?
"You know it's not just the way you move your hands," you started as the material began to rise up your legs. "It's just you, Pablo. Just the thought of you gets me ... soaking." He let out a strangled moan against you, your words obviously having the desired effect.
"Sometimes I see you when we're at work, licking your lips or wiping your sweat with the hem of your shirt and I have to look away because otherwise," You stopped to let out a shaky breath as his hands rested on your hips, fingers ghosting the hem of your dampening panties.
"Otherwise I would have to lock my office door for a suspicious amount of time."
It was your turn to moan softly as he started kissing down your sternum, hands also moving your panties down to expose you to the cool air and Pablo's hungry eyes.
"Have you," he paused to kiss your ankle, the charm that hung there teasing him. He had seen it after your first night together, the blank tag hanging on the interlocking chain. He had stolen it one day after you look it off to shower, getting a stethoscope engraved into one side and a football onto the other. His favorite sight was to watch it dangle by his ear.
"Have you... ever," another kiss, up by your knee, "thought about me," kissed to your inner thigh now, "when you..." he trained off, hands reaching up to gentle massage your boobs while he centered his face, labored breathing hitting your soaking pussy.
"Yeah..." you breathed out, almost to the point of vibrating when he placed a gentle kiss on your lips.
"Tell me about it." He said, looking up through gorgeous lashes as he poked his tongue out, the tip teasing your clit in soft, delicate kitten licks.
"There was this one time... before we," you moved a hand to your breast, placing it over his. You needed the contact, needed more of Pablo. "Before we got together."
"Oh?" His verbal response was short, but the admission made him use the rest of his tongue, still licking slowly and deliberately, but now capturing more of you with his perfect mouth.
"I was watching you in- ah - in a match," he moved his hand off your chest to lace his fingers with yours. "And you wiped your brow with the hem of your shirt and- ah fuck Pablo." He was now flattening the length of his tongue against you, the soft pressure making you want to buck your hips up into his gorgeous face.
"I really want to hear this story, mi sol. So if I need to stop.."
"No!" You said while shooting up, tightening your hold on his hand. He resumed his pleasurable ministrations and you tried your hardest to form words.
"I saw the bottom of your abs and thought about what it would b-be like if I was on top of you..." He was getting more deliberate now, moving his tongue in figures and slipping it into you occasionally, which made your back arch off the mattress.
"And then you- fuck! You spit on the field and I just.. I.. I had to...Pablo fuck I can't!"
Your eyes were shut now, unable to do anything but whine as Pablo sucked on your clit, rolling it in his mouth before releasing it and fucking you slowly with his tongue. He pulled away completely, kissing you once before he came up to meet you at eye level.
"What did you do, mi amor?"
His eyes were looking at yours with such a delicateness that you almost came on the spot. He looked at your swollen lips, your blown out pupils, the way your chest heaved, and he was ready to pledge his life to worshipping you. He looked at you the way people looked at paintings of angels: in admiration of a beauty too great to be human. He kissed you slowly and deeply, fingers circling your slick entrance.
"It's okay, tell me."
"I... I got off on my couch to the thought of you spitting on me. Or, doing anything to me actually. You don't understand how much I love you, Pablo. Everything you do sets me on fire."
With that, he captured your lips again, swallowing the high pitched whine he elicited by slipping in his fingers. He pumped you slow and hard, making sure to feel every ridge within you, taking his time to find that one magic spot that would return the angel underneath him to heaven.
"I love you more, mi vida." He brought his lips down to your neck, kissing you sweetly, before moving his lips to join his hands. Suddenly it was all too much. His plump and swollen lips sucking on your clit as two of his fingers pumped in and out of you and a merciless pace, and moments later you were grinding onto his face, cutting off his air, and whimpering out how much you loved him and how good he was to you. Your eyes rolled back in your head and your body arched so far off the mattress you were sure you were floating. When you came down from your high and regained your vision, you brought Gavi up to you, kissing him passionately.
"You're amazing, Pablo. You're always so good to me. So, so good I love you."
"Yeah?" He was leaning over you now, watching you fight sleep while recovering from the power of the climax you had just reached. He kissed your neck sweetly, sucking gently on your throat to leave a beautiful bruise at the base - enough to be visible the next day, but not dark enough to where it couldn't be covered with some makeup.
"Yeah. You're so good, Pablo." You ran your fingers through his hair for the millionth time, keeping him pressed against you, the electricity running through you. You moved one hand down to Pablo's boxers, rubbing his weeping member over his boxers, making his movements falter. His breathing was heavy against you, and you felt his hips move to rut against your palm.
"If you're tired," he panted out, "we... we can stop. I don't want you-"
"No," you moved to sit up, pushing Pablo's shoulders so that your positions were reversed, with his back against the headboard and you straddling his hips. You moved down, lips on his pulse point while your hands helped him removed the boxers caging him in.
"I want to make you feel good, mi Pablito. Let me show you how good you are."
Your naked pussy, still slick from your arousal and Pablo's spit, moved against his leaking cock, the friction driving both of you crazy. You continued to suck on his neck, moving from behind his ear down to his collarbone, and making your way back up to his Adam's apple. It was romantic and slow and sensual, the way his shaft rocked back and forth between your lips.
"Mi amor, so good, I- fuck." It was his turn to be left speechless as you slowly seated yourself on the tip of his dick. Your forehead was pressed against his, and he opened his eyes to gaze into yours as you seated yourself fully. Hands met his hard chest as you struggled to breathe, the stretch too pleasurable for you to want to move an inch. Grabbing at your thighs and leaning back against the headboard, Pablo began lifting you up and fucking into you, slow and hard and deep. He was in 7th heaven, watching the way your eyes watered from the overwhelming feeling of being so full.
"You're so good lito - the best. Fuck, fuck, no one can fuck me like you can."
"Ay mi amor," he sped up, the praise going straight to his libido, "going to cum."
"Cum inside me. Please, Pablo. I'm yours. Make me yours."
He encircled the back of your neck and brought your lips together in a harsh clash of tongue and teeth as he came, moaning into your mouth. He brought a hand down to finish you off as well, forcing his eyes open to capture yours screwing shut in pleasure.
As the two of you laid down for bed, exhausted and ready for sleep, Pablo took his normal place on your chest, bringing up your leg over his waist. He loved to be this close to you.
"So, lito, you think those were real?"
"Your words can lie, mi Doctora, but you of all people should know that you can't fake that death grip. That was definitely real."
~
It had been a week since then, and the new season was three games deep. Gavi had his insecurities quelled slightly by your consistent affections (and after ensuring he could make you cum), but it didn't make him like Joao any more than before. He still harbored negative feelings towards the Portuguese player. To the other club members, it was understood that Gavi was upset over his childhood friend Ansu being replaced. But to you and his closest friends? It was evident that he wasn't happy with the immediate comfort Joao felt towards you.
"Good morning, doutora! Thank you so much for that late night session - you really worked out my thighs like magic."
"Oh, are you coming out with us to the club? You should - I want to see how you look when you're not all professional."
"The boys from Chelsea say Hi, doutora. They're all telling me how lucky I am to be working under you."
All these comments had gotten under Gavi's skin in the days they were training, and today was no different. While Gavi was running drills, Joao found you on the side of the field and began a conversation with you about F1.
"Oh yeah, it sucks sometimes, but I can't be anything other than a Ferrari fan. I was able to get Pablo into it as well because of the Netflix show."
"Oh, is he also a Ferrari boy?"
"Oh, well he is, but I think he just does that for me. He's secretly rooting for Hamilton every race."
And despite not knowing the topic of the conversation, it absolutely boiled Gavi's blood to watch you talk and laugh so freely with this man who so obviously wants you. His frustration came out on the field, gaining him swift corrections from Xavi to think with his brain and not whatever was angering him at that current moment. When training concluded, he stood near Joao in the locker room, listening to his conversation with Cancelo and Ferran. When the Portugese boy noticed the small Spaniard's stare, he turned to him.
"Great job in training today, Pablo."
"Gavi. Only my parents and my girlfriend call me Pablo."
"Ay, sorry, Gavi. Must have gotten confused after taking to y/n."
"Are you trying to fuck my girlfriend?"
The question sent a shock around the locker room, and suddenly, there was silence. Everyone waited with baited breath to hear the response to the question and the subsequent aftermath.
"What?"
"You have like forty guys on this team that you could be working to get closer to and yet at every opportunity you're beside my girlfriend. So, are you trying to fuck her?"
"No, of course not! I-"
"Then what are you doing?" Pablo knew he was making a scene and that he would be told off for it later, but at the present he didn't care. All he wanted was to understand the plot of his new teammate and potentially his girlfriend's new man.
"Gavi, can we step outside?" Joao's maturity was showing in this moment. He was not about to start a scene two days before he was meant to step on the grass of one of the best clubs in the world. Gavi angrily followed him out of the locker room, prepared to throw insults or punches: whatever the situation called for.
"Okay, Gavi. I'm going to be honest with you because we're teammates and I think we could end up being friends. And because I feel like there's no point in lying. When I first met your girl in London, I thought she was gorgeous."
"I don't know why you thought this would help you build a friendship with me." Gavi deadpanned, anger rising to his throat. His new teammate had 30 more seconds before he lost it completely.
"No I- what I'm trying to say is yes, I did have a crush on her. You're not delusional."
"I already knew that."
"Let me finish!"
"Talk faster!"
"I had a crush on her but then Kepa told me she was with you and I laid off but then I saw her at the ceremony and she said she wasn't dating anybody so then she said her feet hurt from the shoes and she wanted to go back to her room so I walked her there and I asked her out and she said no and I was confused because she was single and she said she was waiting for someone and I just kind of figured it was you because you're the only thing she talked about that entire night and I am very happy for the both of you but feelings don't just disintegrate and I don't want to be a douche who has feelings for your girlfriend so please just tolerate me until I get over mu crush!"
Joao yelled out his entire confession in one breath to answer Gavi's request for speed. It threw the younger boy for a loop, and he was silent for a long moment while he processed what he wanted to say in response.
"So.... you asked out my girlfriend and got rejected?"
"Yes, but before she was your girlfriend!"
"So when my girlfriend was single, free from the guilt of cheating, you asked her out and she rejected you because she was waiting for someone else?"
"Yes."
"Yes let's go!"
Joao was utterly confused by the reaction of the boy. He was ready for yelling, maybe to run for his life, but he never expected Gavi to be smiling, punching the air and celebrating. He turned back to Joao, pulling him into a tight hug and smacking him on the back with strength that bordered on malicious, and then beamed up at him.
"Oh we're going to be just fine. Welcome to the team."
~
It was the stuff of dreams and fantasy. You couldn't believe the scene before you. On the sidelines at the home game in a full Olympic stadium, the fans shouting at the top of their lungs. Barca had just scored the equalizer against Osasuna, and they were coming off the field, little blobs of neon teal ready to prep for the second half. Felix and Cancelo were stretching, ready to make an appearance. A streak flew towards you, and in the tunnel you were met with a grass-stained Gavi, who hugged your middle and kissed you passionately on the cheek.
"You're doing wonderfully, mi Pablito." You said as you walked towards Ilkay to re-bandage his fingers.
"So are you, mi Doctora."
"I haven't really done anything yet." You said as Gavi moved towards the huddle to hear the second half strategy from Xavi.
"And let's please keep it that way! Don't get blood on your new kit."
And it was almost like you had spoken it into existence. There was an electric energy on the grass in the first half, but when the Joaos came on, it was like something just clicked. There was magic dancing through the air, and it seemed like the ball never left Barca's last third. It was just a matter of getting the timing right. And God, was it breathtaking. The midfield was moving like shadows, unstoppable as they fed the ball to Felix. He worked with Balde on the left, lighting fast reflexes that had you on your feet in an instant. It was an impeccable cross, soaring high above the defense line and meeting perfectly with Gavi, who had somehow levitated a foot in the air, and then was catapulted into the far corner of the net. The roar of the crowd was deafening, and you grasped Nicolas harshly and shook him, nearly throwing him to the ground as you screamed with excitement. Gavi had just scored the goal that put them ahead with an assist from Joao. Twitter was going to go insane.
You jumped on the sidelines, hands digging into the pockets of your jacket. You had finally taken what you see as a rather bold step and gotten yourself a Barca kit. Not just any kit - a home kit with 'Gavi 6' in bright white lettering on the back. You had yet to show it to him, wanting it to be a surprise reward. And there was no more perfect time than today. You daydreamed about his reaction, seeing his name on you. You dared to picture a wide smile, and him pulling you close, whispering in your ear how sexy you looked telling the world you were his.
You exited your daydream in time to witness the horrific scene on the pitch. Osasuna were obviously not happy with the performance of the team, and as usual, Gavi got the brunt of the emotionally charged response. They were shoving him, triple-teaming him, using every opportunity to get him on the ground. As Gavi moved into the penalty area, one of the opposing players decided that he couldn't, under any circumstance, let him score again. His arm went up, and his elbow collided directly with Gavi's right ear. The rest was in slow motion - much like the day Gavi took a knee to the groin. You watched the blunt force cause his skull to recoil, and he fell rather limply to the grass. His teammates gathered around, but you weren't going to wait to be called cover. You grabbed you bag and began pulling on your gloves, but a yell caught your attention. It was Joao's voice that got through to you, and over the roar of fans and coaches and disgruntled teammates, you made out the word 'blood' on his lips, and watched as he pointed to his ear.
You sprinted. Nicolas tried to follow, but even with his long legs he couldn't keep up with your speed. Gavi was on the ground. One arm across his eyes, and you could hear him whimper in pain. You looked around his head and saw them: the bright red drops on the grass, all stemming from the side of Pablo's head.
"Pablo, where are you-"
"Ear. From my ear."
You grasped Gavi's hand, wanting to move his arm so you could see, and he moved his hand into yours so that he could clutch it, squeezing hard because of the pain. You soon saw why. You suppressed your gasp as to not spark fear within him. His ear had been split clearly, the blunt force trauma rupturing the skin and causing heavier bleeding than you had seen in a long time.
"You need to come off, Pablo. You're bleeding badly."
"I want to stay on. It doesn't hurt terribly."
"Pablo-"
"Please. Help me stay on."
You nodded, deciding it was better to act fast than to argue. You sat him up, getting the saline and irrigating his ear from the blood. The cut was worse than you had previously anticipated, as you saw cartilage peak through before for the crimson returned once again. You continued to quickly clean and clear blood, a small mound of blood and iodine soaked gauze forming beside you. There wasn't enough time to give him stitches- even the continuous ones would be too slow. Gauze and medical tape would certainly not be enough to keep his ear covered and clean for these last 15 minutes. And plus, his cartilage was oxidizing quickly. You needed to close the cut, and given the circumstances, there was really only one way to do it.
"Can you handle a little bit more pain?" You met Gavi's wide eyes, and he gave your hand a rough squeeze and nodded gently, trying not to move his head too much. You went to pull your hand from his and were met with resistance. He wasn't able to let go.
"Nicolas, gloves on and hand me the stapler."
He handed you the machine and you instructed him on how to place his hands, closing up the flesh and overlapping the skin. You lined up the gun and repressed the urge to close your eyes. You placed four quick staples in his ear, closing the cartilage in a quick way, heart aching at the sounds he made when each one pierced his skin. You cleaned out the blood one last time, and helped him rise to his feet, met with the cheers of 80,000 culers.
"Come on - you need to be seen by Dr. G on the side before you can continue playing. Make sure they didn't crack your skull."
As you ushered him to the sidelines, the penalty review completed and granted to the blaugrana. Dr. G looked over your work, nodding to Gavi that he could go back onto the field.
"Good work, doctora. He will need reinforced stitches after the match concludes, but you're more than capable."
"Of course, sir."
The boys were all aggregated around the penalty box, clapping Gavi on the shoulder as he returned. Lewy raised an eyebrow in his direction, and Gavi gave him a thumbs up in response.
"Don't worry about me - worry about scoring." He called, falling into place beside Pedri and Joao. His Canarian friend placed an arm around his shoulder, bringing him in silently. It was a nasty hit, one of the worst in a long time, and seeing the blood stop dripping onto Gavi's jersey allowed him to finally breathe more easily.
"You okay?" Joao finally asked, eyes still trained on the preparation for the penalty attempt.
"I can still hear, so I guess I'm fine." Gavi replied, arms crossed over his chest but tone remaining light.
"Scars are sexy anyways." Pedri added, sending Gavi a suggestive look.
"Yeah, Van Gogh didn't get any bitches until that ear was gone." Joao's comment caught the Spanish boys off guard, causing them both to double over in laughter. Gavi gave him a playful elbow to the side as Pedri praised is comedy, and from the sidelines your relaxed slightly, watching your Pablo bond with his teammates. The penalty was brilliant and efficient, and after 15 minutes of you clenching Nicolas' arm and watching for a sprouting of red to emerge on Pablo's head, the final whistle sounded, and the boys approached the crowd to celebrate a hard-earned victory.
The players all shuffled into the tunnel, and Gavi quickly found you, walking with you off the field and placing a hand on the small of your back.
"I'm sorry, mi Doctora - I got blood on my kit." He said softly as the two of you walked through the tunnels, and you couldn't stop yourself from throwing both arms around him and kissing his soft pout. As you moved your arms away, you noticed the red droplets littering the light material of your staff uniform.
"It's okay, mi Pablito, looks like I did too. I can do you stitches at home, but blood is a biohazard, so we need to put this with the medical laundry before we leave."
The two of you walked to the locker room, walking into a closed area just behind that was used for medical exams.
"Can you turn around?" You asked, and he raised an eyebrow at you.
"What haven't I seen before?" He asked cheekily, and you rolled your eyes as you pushed his shoulders to make him face the wall. He peeled off his own stained shirt, toeing off his boots and rolling his socks down to relieve the pressure on his calves.
"Can I turn around now?" He asked almost mockingly, and after your agreement, he turned to face you, but meeting your back instead. It took him a moment to understand what was going on, opening his mouth to ask what was going on, but his eyes focused and the words died on his tongue. In bright white text, the saw his name curved around your shoulder blades, his number sitting perfectly in the dip of your back.
"You... my shirt?" He couldn't bring himself to articulate his question more clearly. You knew what he meant, looking over your shoulder, and Pablo was absolutely certain his brain was going to short circuit. It was like there was a halo of light surrounding you, your soft eyes behind beautiful fluttering lashes. Pink lips peaked from above your shoulder, your hair gathered to keep your back exposed. You were wearing his name. You were at work wearing his name, about to walk outside and proudly show off that you were Gavi's. And despite him saying it repeatedly, that was the moment it really clicked in his head. He had you. We were his.
And while he was lifting you up to kiss him, hands harsh on the soft fabric inscribed with his name, people were a step behind, speculating about you being Gavi's as well.

The photo was one of the worst quality things on twitter. It was blurry and crooked and extremely zoomed in, but there was no doubt about the subject. Gavi was in his training shirt and his grass stained shorts, socks rolled down to his ankles and Nike slides taking the place of his usual dripped out sneakers. His head was turned to the left, his entire side profile visible. The smile that spread across his face was blinding even in the photo's limited pictures, and his fingers were threaded between those of another person. Your face was turned towards Gavi as well, distorted by your hair on your shoulder. But your back, turned squarely to the camera, was clear as Day with the large '6' contrasting the stripes. The internet was going wild at the thought that he young football star had bagged his doctor.
"Not to be the bearer of bad news, mi doctora," Pablo started, laying on your couch with his head on the pillow, injured ear in the air, "but Twitter found out that you're obsessed with me."
Your laugh was faint but audible, and your footsteps coming swiftly down Gavi's staircase. The sutures and other medications were in your hand, and you moved to sit on the couch, laying the pillow and Pablo's head across your lap.
"Well, took them long enough. I've been publicly thirsting over you forever now." You picked up your gloves and tweezers, about to begin the painstaking process of pulling out the staples so that you could drain his ear.
"Can I grab something before you start?" He said, and you paused midair. "Alright, but quickly. I don't want the numbing cream to wear off. I'm tired of you crying on the pillows."
"That was only one time!" He yelled over his shoulder, running up to his bedroom despite your please for him to not run in socks on the tile. He came back downstairs with a large book and a paper bag from the supermarket. He laid back down on your lap, snuggling his cheek into the pillow.
"Okay, I'm ready. Rip my ear open."
You pulled the first staple and watched for his reactions. of which there were very few. You took this as a sign to continue. As you pulled out the second staple, struggling not to tear his skin because it was wedged under the third, you asked.
"When did you start reading, Pablo?"
"Don't worry, it's a picture book." He giggled slightly and cracked open the book. On the first page, sprawled in boyish handwriting and black sharpie, was the title: My Precious Moments.
"What is this?"
"Keep working, mi doctora. I'll read it to you."
He hissed slightly as you pulled out the final staple, and you began the process of cleaning. He turned the first page, and you let out a laugh that surprised even yourself. The first page was your official school photo that Gavi had printed out, your wide smile and white coat looking crisp. He had surrounded your picture with red hearts, a thousand of them all over the page.
"This is Doctora y/n y/l/n," Pablo began reading, and you gently moved the iodine across his skin. "But we never call her that. We call her Mi doctora. She's the most wonderful beautiful sexy fantastic amazing girl, and she's dating you, her Pablito."
He turned the page as you threaded the nylon thread into the needle to begin closing him up. The next page was a collage of newspaper and magazine clippings of Gavi's best moments.
"This is you, footballer Pablo Gavi. Handsome, talented, and always a winner."
"You forgot humble, mi amor." You said with a smirk.
"Oh, you're right. I'll have to add that in later."
He flipped the page once again, and it was a copy of the photo you gave him for Christmas. Around it were several post it notes taped to the pages. They all said various things in Pablo's signature handwriting: 'doctora number - DO NOT LOSE!', 'see girl dr tmr morning for leg stuff', 'doctora coffee order', etc.
"This is you and doctora before she liked you. We definitely already liked her, but we're kind of stubborn."
"What are those? You asked while never taking your eyes off of them.
"They're all the notes I have about you. The ones that I kept around so I wouldn't forget."
You tried to keep the tears out of your eyes, needing one more stitch to be done with Pablo's ear. He turned the page again, and it was a collection of photos of the two of you from the Supercopa, with you and Gavi both holding onto the trophy.
"This is after doctora broke up with her crusty boyfriend. look at how happy everyone is!"
You laughed once again, having to put down the needle and just let out the joy, allowing it to take over your entire body. You picked up the stapler again, placing four quick staples in his ear as he flipped the page again. You pressed onto the newly patched ear, applying gentle pressure. The pages were filled with printed out photos: the sunset over the sea, a bush of bright pink flowers, a fluffy dog smiling widely. An array of beautiful, ordinary things.
"These are all the things we took pictures of while thinking about the doctora. The sun, the moon, bracelets on street stalls, dogs at the park, butterflies on the football field. All the beautiful things that you wanted to capture and give to her. You just didn't know why, yet."
You tapped his shoulder, indicating that he could sit up. He rested his back across the couch, lifting one arm to invite you to lay against his chest. Nuzzling into his side, your head rested against the dip connecting his shoulder to his collar. The next page was from the end of the league, all the stupid selfies the two of you had taken with the La Liga trophy.
"This is when doctora decided to stay in the club. We're so lucky that she decide to do that, because it gave us the time to grow some balls and confess to her. And also, your first La Liga win (in general and with this hottie)."
You kissed Pablo's cheek, whispering how amazing he was against his skin.
"Hold on, I'm about to get more amazing." He said, turning the page. It was only two pictures. The first was a picture of him on stage holding his Kopa trophy, smiling brightly at the crowd. The second was the one Pedri had took while you two were preoccupied with your first "I never want to let you go" kiss. The two of you were wrapped around each other, lips locked, and Pablo's trophy sitting in the bottom of the frame.
"This is the day that we finally became a man. You got a cute award, and you got the love of your life. And we better not be sitting over this and reading it because we fumbled her. Break your face before you fumble Doctora. She'll fix it for you."
The tears were flowing freely now, and you hugged closer against Gavi. You had never been treated so specially by anyone in your life. And here was Pablito, so busy and occupied with being a world class footballer taking the time to make a scrap book of you. He turned the page one more time, and it was a collection of selfies that you had taken with him at home, all cut into hearts and stick on haphazardly. But to you it was the most stunning sight in the world.
"And here you two are. In your favorite place in the world (at home on the couch) with your favorite person. In love in a way that would have made you nauseous last year. So here is a place for you to keep all the precious moments of the two of you, so that you can never forget how far you have come."
He placed the book in your hands, and moved to get up, grabbing the bag he brought down earlier. Your tear-stained cheeks were rosy, and you couldn't even begin to articulate how you felt. He sat back down, pulling you into his lap and cuddling you in his arms. His head was resting against your shoulder, peppering soft kisses to your neck.
"I know it's a little obvious now, mi doctora, but I love pictures. I don't think I ever realized how much pictures meant to me until you gave me one. But when I look at you, I wish I could photograph you every second and then play back every moment. I wish that we could be frozen in these moments, happy and feeling like there was nothing in the world besides each other. But then I realized that no matter the moment, that's how I feel. Every time I'm with you, I feel invincible. I feel like I'm at the happiest I will ever be. And it's all because of you. You are what I want beside me, forever."
He placed the supermarket bag in your hands. You reached in, pulling out a pale blue jewelry box. Your eyes widened, and you swiveled around to face your love.
"Pablo... is this... I look terrible."
"Don't worry, mi amor. It's not a ring. Not yet anyways. We can't get married while you're still in school, cause I don't want our wedding to overshadow your graduation."
"You've thought about a wedding? Our wedding?"
"Of course." He placed a long kiss to the side of your neck. "I've thought about our wedding since before we got together. We're going to get married in the summer, of course. So that we can be tan and gorgeous - not that you're not always gorgeous, but you'll just glow against the white. Like an angel. Or a princess. Or both. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but in my little fantasies before I go to sleep, you're in this long white dress, like something from Disney. And then it would be between seasons, so I can take you on a proper looong honeymoon. Four weeks in a private beach where you pack only bikinis and lingerie. Now come on open it - I got this weeks ago when we were in Madrid and you had to stay for an exam."
You opened the box slowly, not knowing what to hope for exactly. In front of you was a traditional Spanish necklace, almost resembling a rosary. It was silver and pearls chained together, ending in large silver heart with filigree etched into the metal. The lines formed into a cursive 'P' in the center.
"P for Pablo?" You asked with sniffles and tears.
"Yes of course. But that's not even the best part." He whispered, hands coming up to join yours. He grasped the heart and pulled until you heard a faint click, and it was only then that you noticed the hinges. It was a locket. You gently separated the halves, and staring back at you was a black and white photo. It was of you and Pablo, one night when you were laying on his couch like the two of you somehow always did. You were trying to fix yourself in your camera, and Pablo pulled your chin down to kiss you, and you hand snapped a picture. For a few weeks, it was his lock screen, and you had to admit you were disappointed when he changed it to a different photo. But now, seeing it here, feeling the gentle touch of his fingers against your skin as he placed the necklace on you, you had never felt more loved or in love.
"I love you, Pablo. I love being with you. I love being yours."
Those were the only words that felt appropriate at the moment.
"I love you more, mi doctora. I feel like I'm going to love you forever. And that thought used to terrify me. But now, it's something for me to look forward to. Waking up every day to love you."
He reached back into the back, pulling out a small suede pouch in the same light blue. He placed it in your hands as well.
"You're spoiling me now Pablo."
"That's my job."
Pulling the strings, you opened the pouch, reaching in and feeling metal. You pulled on the chain and it slowly rose, ending in a silver key. It was also engraved with the words 'el hogar' on the side.
"I know that we talked about you moving in, but I never want to make you uncomfortable. So for right now, this is just a necklace with a key as the charm." He hooked it around your neck, and it sat beautifully above your pearls. "And when you want, you can use it as a key to your boyfriend's house, for whatever you want really." He turned you to face him, pressing his lips right between your collar bones. "And when you feel like you're ready, it can be a key to our house."
"Our house. I like the sound of that."
His smile was infectious. "So do I."

Mi culpa- Pablo Gavi (a)
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Gavi had a huge fight right before his game, and he tells you that he doesn't want you to make it to the game and you get into a car accident.
I saw this on tik tok, so credits to whoever had this idea first. Enjoy!!
2nd Masterlist
"He said he would be here, mama."
"Y/n, sweetheart, it's been 2h. He is clearly not coming anymore."
"I'll call him again"
"You've already called him multiple times. He won't answer. It's ok, you can go to his game."
"But he said he would be here! Maybe something happened to him."
You started to panick at the thought of losing Gavi. You've been together for a long time, and you just couldn't imagine your life without this boy by your side.
He promised you that he would come to your family lunch. Everyone was there waiting for him. Your cousins, parents, uncles, grandparents.. everyone.
You texted him constantly, hoping for at least an answer, but he wouldn't pick up his phone. He never did that, and you were now on the edge of crying in front of your family.
You were so embarrassed when people would ask you about where he is. You at first tried to say that he is only at some training or the traffic is wild now.
It had come to a time when no more excuses could be make.
"Don't you want to eat something?"
"No, papa."
"He is for sure, alright. Maybe he couldn't make it, but forgot to tell you."
"No, he wouldn't do this."
You sighed before apologising to everyone about Gavi and telling them that you are going to his house to see what's the problem.
When you arrived there you saw Gavi preparing to go to the game. When you saw him alive and all save, anger started to feel in all your body.
"Qué te pasa?" (What is wrong with you!?)
When he heard your voice, he smiled, but right after he saw your face, it faded away.
"Qué-?"
"No me digas que no sabes de lo que hablo" (Don't tell me you don't know what i'm talking about)
"No, realmente no lo hago."
After you realised that he forgot about this lunch, you felt like you could kill someone right there. He promised to you and knew how important it was for you.
"No puedo creerlo" you said it more to yourself. How could he forget?
"Por favor, dime de qué estás hablando." (Please tell me what you are talking about.) he said it with a shaky voice.
"Te olvidaste de mi almuerzo familiar!! ¡Me prometiste que estarías allí y sabías lo importante que era para mí!" (You forgot my family lunch!! You promised me that you would be there and you knew how important it was to me!)
When he remembered about the lunch, he stopped doing whatever he was and tried to come to you to apologise, but you just walked out of his embrace.
"Te he llamado varias veces durante horas, Pablo! Por jodidas horas! No tienes idea de lo avergonzado que me sentí allí de pie, esperándote mientras todos preguntaban 'dónde está tu novio!?' Pues yo tampoco lo sé!" (I have called you several times for hours, Pablo! For fucking hours! You have no idea how embarrassed I felt standing there, waiting for you while everyone was asking 'where's your boyfriend!?' Well, I don't know either!)
"Y/n-"
"Y lo peor es que pense que te habia pasado algo! Estaba entrando en pánico porque te perdí y tú estás... aquí!? Haciendo.. nada!? (And the worst thing is that I thought something had happened to you! I was panicking because I lost you and you're…here!? Doing. Nothing!?)
"Lo siento mucho. Lo olvidé por completo, pero por favor tienes que entenderme también. Tengo un juego difícil esta noche y mi mente estaba en eso. Lo siento mucho" (I am sorry. I completely forgot, but please, you have to understand me too. I have a tough game tonight, and my mind was only on it. I'm really, really sorry.)
He was sad and you tried to understand him, but just couldn't. It was something that is hard to forget.
"Deberías haberme dicho esto antes de prometerme que estarías allí." (You should have told me this before you promised me you'd be there.)
He rolled his eyes. He was in no mood for a fight now, and he really had to go to the stadium.
"Entiendo, es mi culpa, pero por favor, olvidémoslo. Tengo un juego para asistir-" (I understand, it's my fault, but please, let's forget about it. I have a game to attend-)
"Solo te importa ese juego!" you said it, now really angry. You were about to cry, but tried to keep as calm as possible.
"Bueno, por supuesto. ¡Ahora mismo es más importante!" (Now it's more important)
"Qué?" you said it shocked. You really had enough of this.
"Como has oído, sí. Tengo que concentrarme en ello." (As you heard, yes. I have to concentrate on it.)
"Entonces el juego es mas importante que yo?"
"Ahora sí"
You felt like you could throw yourself from a bridge now.
You nodded your head and were about to leave before saying the last thing he ever heard from you.
"Entonces no quiero arruinar tu noche." (Then I won't ruin your night.).
He rolled his eyes once again.
"Estás siendo tan dramático. Realmente espero que no llegues al estadio. No soporto tu estado de ánimo esta noche." (You are being so dramatic. I really hope you don't make it to the stadium. I can't stand your mood tonight.)
When you heard him say that, you smiled sadly. You never thought that you two would become like this. You still wanted to come to his match. You knew that he didn't mean it and that your support was really important for him.
Pablo felt horrible after you left. He never shouted at you, and doing that made him devastated. He tried to forget about your fight. He had a match to win tonight.
You went back to your house without saying anything more. Your parents asked you if you talked to your boyfriend. At that moment, you didn't even know if you were together anymore. All this was so confusing and you needed to clear your mind for a bit.
You threw yourself on the bed and slept for some good minutes.
When it was only 30 minutes before the game would begin, you changed (still wearing his jersey) and went to your car to drive yourself to the stadium.
You still hadn't eaten anything and you were starting to be a bit dizzy.
It was already night outside, and the traffic was absolutely full. When you were right next to the stadium, someone bumped hard into you, making pieces of your car to be thrown away. You only saw white, and you fainted.
While the game had started, sirens of ambulance started to be heard everywhere. People were confused and curious, the game being forgotten.
After the first half ended, Xavi went directly at Gavi, shouting his name.
"Gavi!!! Gavi!! Ven aquí!"
"Qué pasa?"
"Tu chica está en el hospital... en coma. Ve con ella ahora mismo. Tienes que estar allí con-" (your girl is in the hospital in a coma. You have to go there, be with-)
"Qué!? No- por favor, Xavi, no-"
"Lo siento mucho"
"No, no"
Right now, Gavi started to cry. It was his fault and only his. He had to take you here himself. Now he lost you forever.
He hurried up to the hospital you were at, leaving the game behind. He ran like he never had.
When he arrived, he asked everyone about you. Every nurse that was around was asked about your condition by Gavi. He was really panicked and when he saw your family standing there, he cried harder.
He started to say that it's all his fault and that you two fought. He couldn't lose you knowing that the last thing you talked was something bad.
Your family tried to console him, knowing how a good boy he is. Nothing was working. He wanted to see you, he had to see you.
He stayed there all night on that chair. He didn't sleep at all, wanting to be the first one that knew about your condition. He prayed all the time, hoping for you to wake up.
He just couldn't live without you.
He cried like he never had. Days had passed, and Gavi was still there at the hospital. He saw you only for some seconds, and it was enough for him to make him cry harder.
Your parents and his would bring chlotes to him and food. He just didn't want to leave that seat.
His eyes were all red and puffy while your mother was hugging him close to her heart. She would tell him nice stuff in his ear, trying to calm him down a bit.
He knew that if you would die, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself for it.
Everyone was praying for you because everyone loved you. You were a sweet person, someone who went through hell in this life, but every time, you chose to be a kind-hearted girl. You were the one that was there for everyone, the friend that you wouldn't get bored with.
Every person would want a friend like you, and every boy would love a girlfriend as you.
"Gavi!!! Gavi!!!! Everyone is cheering for this incredible boy! Spain, champions of the world!! All this because of this talent of Pablo Gavi!!"
"You did it, amor! Congratulations!!!!!"
"Mis chicas..." he said while taking your daughter from your hands and kissing your lips.
"Te amo.." he said, and you smiled.
"Te amo, y/n".
He said while holding your hand on the hospital bed.
"Despertar... por favor" (wake up.. please)

idk if i already sent an request but could u write a fluff about gavi?
after a badgame, he gets yelled at by xavi and it somehow really gets to him so when he gets home he practically breaksdown in readers lap and like hugs her waist?
unwavering support - Pablo Gavi
Thank you for requesting! Hope you like it <3
Pairings: Pablogavi x reader
Fluff
Tumblr media
Pablo stumbled home, his spirits crushed after a particularly rough game. The weight of Xavi's harsh words still echoed in his mind, haunting him with self-doubt. As he entered the house, he saw Y/N, sitting on the couch, engrossed in a book.
“Hey, I saw the game” y/n whispered sadly
Unable to contain his emotions any longer, Pablo practically collapsed into Y/N's lap, burying his face in her waist as tears streamed down his cheeks. Y/N's heart ached at the sight of his distress, instantly put her book aside and gently ran her fingers through his hair.
“Pablo, what happened? You’re shaking. Come here, love.”
Pablo clung onto Y/N, seeking solace in her warmth.
“Xavi… Xavi was so hard on me today. He yelled at me in front of everyone and said I was useless. Maybe he’s right. Maybe I’m just not cut out for this.”
Y/N’s eyes filled with empathy as she cradled Pablo in her arms, offering him a safe space to let out his frustrations.
“Pablo, listen to me. You are talented, passionate, and dedicated to that sport. Sometimes coaches get caught up in the heat of the moment and say things they don’t truly mean. It doesn’t define who you are as a player or as a person.”
Pablo’s grip on Y/N tightened as he let out a heavy sigh.
“I know, but it’s hard to shake off those words, you know? I’ve been working so hard, and it feels like I’ve let everyone down.”
“Hey, stop. You haven’t let anyone down, Pablo. Football is like this – you either win or you lose. I believe in you, and so does your team.”
Pablo’s tears began to subside, replaced by a glimmer of hope sparked by Y/N’s unwavering support.
“Te amo, thank you for everything,” Pablo whispered, placing his forehead against Y/N’s.
Y/N smiled softly. Leaning in, she closed the distance between them, their lips meeting in a tender, heartfelt kiss.
Time seemed to stand still as their connection deepened, their lips moving in sync with one another. In that moment, all worries and doubts melted away, leaving only the warmth of their embrace. It was a kiss filled with understanding, comfort, and unwavering support.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t make it today,” Y/N said, gently pulling away from their kiss.
“It’s okay,” Pablo replied with a warm smile, his arms still wrapped around her. They settled comfortably on the couch, finding solace in each other’s presence.
“I’m with you right now, and that’s all that matters,” Pablo whispered, his voice filled with reassurance and love. Y/N’s heart fluttered at his words, feeling a sense of peace wash over her.

plastic off the sofa
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: gavi x reader
summary: moving with your boyfriend ignites an unexpected heart to heart discussion (wc: 0,6k)
contents: angst but make it fluffy, good ending, injured gavi
note: disscussing gavi with @zowanew is never a good idea bc look what she's done guys 😞
now playing: plastic off the sofa by beyonce...
heavy cardboard boxes overflown with books and stationery were all over the floor, making the brand new house look like the louvre from its sleek white interior.
the emptiness of the living room would almost be unsettling, if it wasn't for pablo slumped on the only furniture of the room, his crutches were thrown far away from him, as if he tried to forget about their whole existence. the brand new couch was still enveloped in plastic wraps, you sat next to him, careful not to hurt him in any way after his surgery.
the move was long planned, and you knew your boyfriend felt awful about his lack of help. as much as he pleaded to help you with at least one light box, you categorically denied him, not wanting him to make any big effort post-surgery.
your hand instinctively found its home to the back of his neck, tracing little patterns and stroking his newly short hair. pablo was torn between the undying feeling of uselessness, both on and off the pitch, and the overwhelming urge to shower his girl with all the love he could give you.
he chose the most comfortable option, constisting in hiding his face in the crook of your neck, the warmth of your fingers still burning on his skin. pablo took the opportunity to kiss the warm and inviting skin of your neck.
“i’m so lucky to share a house with you, i love you”, his mumbles would be absolute gibberish to anyone, but you weren't anyone.
despite understanding every word, you decided to make the most out of your boyfriend sudden need to voice his appreciation towards you, “what was that baby?”
you felt his lips turned into a smile against your neck, “you know what i said, don’t make me say it again.”
barcelona’s sun was setting down on the city when he lifted his face away from the comfort of your neck. pablo’s fingers, calloused from the cold winter, traced your jaw.
“i’m sorry, i really wish i helped today you know.” your eyes rolled against your will at his nonsense, you feared pablo’s constant abnegation would ruin him at some point.
“i don't need you to help pablo, i need you to get better, feel better, and you can’t do that with all this pressure you’re putting on yourself amor.” the serious look on your face only made him feel more sorry for you. it was never in your plan to deal with an injured and stubborn boyfriend, and on top of that, a move to a new house, when he was the one insisting you should get one together. he would give so much for you to live a peaceful life instead of all the things you did for him right now.
pablo could feel tears gathering in this eyes and looked at the floor in hopes of hiding it from you, “yeah, sorry.” he didn't know where they were coming from, anger? sadness? frustration? probably a mix of all these emotions.
his voice, however, was a dead giveaway. after all these years you knew him all too well. the thought of you being the reason behind his tears was enough for your eyes to water as well.
“no... don’t say sorry. you don't have to be sorry about anything”, you tilted your boyfriend’s face up so his eyes could meet yours, your hands wiped away a couple stray tears. “it’s a tough phase right now, but you’ll make it, i know you will… alright?”
he connected his lips to yours in a kiss that wordlessly gave you every answer you needed, his thumb stroked your wet cheek, in hopes to erase every remnant trace of sadness off you. when you parted away to catch your breath, you leaned your forehead against his, lost in his brown eyes that were ready to follow you anywhere you wanted.
“we’ll do it together cariño”

It was the fourth Tuesday in a row that you ate alone in your apartment. The fourth time Gavi had skipped out on your plans last minute, sending a quick half-hearted text about one event or the other.
The first time it was because Coach had asked Gavi to stay after practice, keen on teaching him the perfect one-touch shot. Then it was a missed dinner because Jordi Alba had invited him out with some other players, and he just couldn’t say no, because he was finally starting to feel like a part of the family - like the older players had finally started to respect him.
Of course you hadn’t minded the first few times, he had been apologetic enough, promising you that he would be there next time, but each next time took on the next week, and soon the prospect of next time didn’t hold as much meaning anymore. You were accustomed to reading those words by now, and you rarely took time to read over the dwindling text messages anymore, eyes only scanning for those two words, the ones that had become a staple in your relationship.
Next time.
Next time you would cook dinner for him and he would be there to eat it. Next time he would tell you he loved you in person, rather than getting an impassive ‘sorry cariño’. The thought of next time, which once seemed like a lifeline to you, had become a dull reminder of the boy who was just on the other side of the city, only a measly train ride separating you both. Yet the distance seemed much greater.
But now the football season was drawing to a close, and instead of being excited at the notion of having more time to spend together, you felt uneasy and on edge, almost as if you were waiting for the other shoe to drop, something to come up, making the distance between the two of you that much more tangible.
You felt your phone buzz next to you and your eyes unintentionally went to the clock.
9:45 pm.
The texts were getting later and later each time.
You already knew what awaited you, but you couldn’t help but scan the message regardless.
“Can’t come tonight, only have a few days till the season ends and the guys wanna make the most of it. Be there next time. Noche.”
There it was again, that unexplainable feeling in your chest, like your heart was always one step ahead of your brain, preparing for the loss of something that hadn’t yet left. Your mind was an incomprehensible mess, a jumble of contrasting thoughts and memories, forcing you to overthink situations and undervalue your emotions.
You lifted your head watching your roommate land with a thump on the couch beside you, “He canceled again, didn’t he?”
You opened your mouth, an excuse on the tip of your tongue.
She held up her hand, “Don’t try to defend him. He knows it isn’t fair.”
You avoided her gaze, “You don’t get it. He’s really in demand and-”
“It doesn’t matter that he’s famous or a professional athlete, that doesn’t discredit his actions, or put the blame on anyone but him.”
She continued, “Look Gavi’s a good guy, I like him,” you stared at her, “I do! But he’s stupid if he doesn’t realize that he’s losing you. I know you, and while you might make excuses for him now, I know that sooner or later you’re going to notice that he hasn’t been treating you like you deserve, and you’ll be smart enough to leave.”
You felt the impact of her words full force, like a sledgehammer beating into your body. All the signs were there, right in front of your face, and you had been turning a blind eye, not wanting to admit what your heart already knew.
You knew it. The distance you had felt hadn’t been in vain – every day you could feel the connection between the two of you chip away, so small, you wouldn’t think to notice it till you stood back and looked at the bigger picture.
As a result of both your busy schedules, you both had come up with the idea of having Tuesday night, the most boring day of the week as agreed on, reserved for just the two of you. On Tuesday you didn’t have classes that ran well past dinner time or have to pick up late-night shifts at the restaurant, and he didn’t have evening practice. It was perfect. Tuesday was yours.
Except it had been four weeks since you’d had a proper conversation with Gavi, and you couldn’t help but see the difference in your relationship when you first got together, both eager and determined to spend as much time together as possible, to now, where even if you attended his games, you two still managed to get away without speaking.
You shook your head, “I-I need to take a walk.”
She reached over placing a hand on your shoulder, “Y/n. I’m sorry-”
You shook it off, standing up, “No it’s ok, it’s not your fault. I just need to clear my head.”
You felt the cool night breeze hit you as you walked the streets of Barcelona. It was unusually quiet in this part of town, the lights from the main strip didn’t reach this far out, and for a moment the quiet reminded you of your hometown.
If you closed your eyes, it was almost like you were fifteen again, back in your childhood bedroom, before the ideas of pretty boys with big brown eyes and the weight of managing both university and a job plagued all your thoughts.
You reached a lookout point, the top of the hill dropping to show you the expansive city below. You stared out, the buildings looked so small up here, barely more than a glowing dot in the dark, the cars a blur of soft yellow. You wondered which tiny dot Gavi was in. You wondered if he had checked his phone, seeing that you hadn’t texted him back like you usually did. You wondered if he even cared.
You shook your head trying to get rid of the unwanted thoughts.
Your relationship with Gavi was good. He made you laugh like nobody else, whispering secrets in each other’s ears like schoolchildren, making forts out of old sheets in his childhood bedroom when you met his family for the first time. You remembered his sweet smile, the way his eyes would crinkle unintentionally when he couldn’t hold back his excitement or happiness. You remembered confiding in him about school, how you were so stressed because you couldn’t manage eighteen credits while simultaneously holding a job that required you to be on your feet for hours at a time. You could still feel the soft caress of his hand, as he squeezed yours, providing you comfort, cracking a badly executed joke here and there just to get you to smile while listing a hundred reasons why if anyone could do it, it would be you.
So, if he made you feel all those things, why did his absence make you feel so tiny, so insignificant?
Your finger hovered over the call button, and you hit it hesitantly.
You just wanted to hear his voice.
That would be enough.
It rang seven times before the line went dead.
It took you a moment to realize you hadn’t put your phone up to your ear, waiting with bated breath for the timer on the screen to start, indicating he had picked up, but it never did.
You stuffed your phone back into your pocket, the same unsteady feeling in your heart strumming.
Once.
Twice.
Then it was gone.
You came home to a quiet apartment and your roommate already asleep.
You shuffled into your room silently, you would give it one more week you decided. Next time would be the last.
The next week came, and while it was the first week Gavi had off from training, he had already planned to go to Ibiza to attend a music festival with his hometown friends. He had invited you, but it was more of an afterthought, and you couldn’t find it in yourself to go because of rushed ‘you can come if you want’ and a barely there apology so you left it.
You got an ‘I’ll miss you’ text from him and for a moment it made you smile, filling you with warmth. However, an ‘I miss you’ only did so much, and other than his sweet messages, there was really no intent behind his words.
Now it had been two days since Gavi had gotten back from his Ibiza trip, and you couldn’t hide the surprise on your face when you glanced over and saw a Facetime call from Gavi.
When was the last time the two of you had Facetimed? Maybe two months ago? It was much easier to send a text, the times both of you were free were few and far between.
You answered the call, pushing your textbook to the side. The dark grey interior of Gavi’s car greeted you.
“Hello?” You asked.
“Hey, Y/n long time no talk.” Gavi joked, but you felt your stomach flip at the truth behind his words.
“I can’t see you.” You said.
“Oh shit, did I accidentally Facetime? My bad I told Siri to call and she must have Facetimed instead. Let me call you.”
You went to speak but heard the three beeps indicating the call had been cut.
You heard the phone ring again and bit back a sigh. You just wanted to see his face.
You answered on the second ring.
“Hey sorry about that. I wanted to call and tell you that I’m back from Ibiza.”
“Yeah, I know.” You admitted, “I remembered.”
There was a beat of silence.
“Well, anyways I wanted to ask you to come with me to the Spanish football gala tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?”
You heard some shuffling and suddenly Gavi’s voice was much clearer and closer to the phone. You assumed he took it off speaker.
“Can you not come?”
You hesitated, “Uhm I’m not sure. It’s so last minute and I’m already scheduled at the restaurant tomorrow.”
“Can’t you just take off?” He persisted.
You felt your brow furrow, “I’m already on the schedule, I can’t just decide to take off the day before, I need to find someone to replace me.”
“Ok, tell whoever that I’ll sign a jersey for them if they do.”
You suddenly felt angry. Why did he think that you could only get a day off work if he helped you out? Were you not capable of handling your own situations? You hated feeling like this, like you weren’t even your own person, just a shadow of who you were with.
“No that’s fine. I’ll just take off like you said, simple.” You couldn’t help but let the bitterness seep into your voice.
He went to say something, probably sensing the shift in your mood, but you cut him off, “I have to go. Bye Gavi.”
You hung up before he could respond.
Finding someone to replace your shift was easier said than done, but after some back and forth, and a promise to Marcus to cover his next two shifts, you were free.
Free to prance around in a hall filled with people you barely knew, with a boy who you thought about more in your memories than you saw in real life.
The night of the gala arrived, and you were decked out, wearing the earrings Gavi had gifted you for your one-year anniversary paired with a necklace you had received after graduating high school.
Gavi had originally said he would pick you up but had sent a quick text earlier in the morning explaining that the team was getting ready together at a hotel, and to just meet him at the venue.
Your roommate had agreed to drive you and you gave her a grateful smile as you got in the car.
“Ana thank you for taking me.”
She brushed the comment off playfully, “No problem. Gotta step up when Gavi steps down.”
You let out a short laugh, “My hero.”
You got to the venue a couple of minutes before you had planned to meet Gavi and nervously walked around, staying out of the path of cameras.
You found someone to take you to a tent where some Barca staff were waiting for the players to start the program.
You walked in, a surprised look taking over your face once you noticed Pedri and a few other players in the corner.
You weren’t aware that some of the players from the hotel had arrived yet.
Pedri noticed your entrance and came over to say hello.
You gave him a quick hug, making casual small talk.
Just ask him, a voice in the back of your head urged.
Finally, you bit the bullet, attempting to sound as casual as possible, “How did you guys get here so early? I thought everyone was leaving the hotel at 6.”
“Ehh, it wasn’t that important, so I skipped it. Half the guys didn’t go anyway, and the other half just went to play FIFA. Besides I beat them every time, so it gets a little boring after a while.”
You tried to laugh at his joke, but could only manage a watery smile, mind running a mile a minute.
So Gavi hadn’t actually needed to go but chose to.
Leaving you alone.
Again.
It wasn’t a big deal by itself. But it was the fact that this was just another item you could add to your ever-growing list of things Gavi cared about more than you. You wondered briefly if you had been wrong, and if he had missed some other event to be there with you, only to remind yourself that you hadn’t seen him in a month, so no, he hadn’t.
You were still grappling with your emotions when Gavi arrived, unsure whether to confront him or just let this be another thing you swept under the rug.
Your reunion, if you could even call it that, was lackluster at best. He had walked in with some of his teammates, immediately going to greet the rest of his team, completely ignoring you standing on the right side of the room with Pedri.
It was only once he asked where Pedri was that someone pointed the two of you out.
You felt your body deflate; he hadn’t even asked for you.
Were you overthinking things again? Maybe he had just forgotten in the excitement of seeing his whole team for the first time after the season ended?
Gavi made his way over to the two of you, reaching out to Pedri first. You watched as they exchanged a hug before Gavi’s eyes floated over to yours.
“Hey.” His voice was casual, like he was greeting a mailman, or thanking the cashier.
“Hi.”
You closed the space, attempting to hug him, but he grabbed your shoulders stopping you, looking down.
You followed his gaze.
“I don’t want to wrinkle the dress.”
You felt your heart thud against your chest, and while you knew he only had good intentions, the rejection still stung.
You stepped out of his embrace, watching his hands drop to his sides, “Okay.”
The carpet went by in a blur, you posed with Gavi for a few photos before moving to the side and letting him enjoy the spotlight, he had worked hard for it. You took a couple of photos with some of the other teammate's girlfriends and wives before you headed inside.
Once inside, there was still some time left before the actual dinner portion of the gala started. The gala was held for all Spanish football clubs as a celebration of their hard work during the season. It was also a great event to network, giving players the ability to talk with different coaches and directors they otherwise might not have gotten the chance to, allowing for discussions of thinly veiled preseason transfers to commence without the fear of unwanted ears listening in.
You found Gavi in the crowd quickly, linking your arm with his. He looked over at you, a smile taking over his features once he noticed you.
“Glad you found me.”
You noticed with great relief that his eyes still crinkled in the corners when he looked at you,
“I always do.”
The next however many minutes spent till dinner service started comprised of Gavi talking with various different players and directors as you stood like a shiny accessory off his arm, too insignificant to be acknowledged in conversation.
The call for dinner provided you solace from the repetitive conversations and mundane questions. You took a seat next to Gavi and were confused to find both Joao Felix and Antoine Griezmann seated at your table.
You leaned into Gavi, “I thought the clubs sat together?”
“Me too. I think they’re doing alphabetical tonight though.” He whispered.
“Which one’s your least favorite?” You looked up shocked at Gavi’s question, watching a boyish grin take over his features as he tried to hide his laugh, interlacing your fingers on your lap.
You shoved into him lightly, “They’re sitting right there!”
He leaned in closer, nose softly grazing your ear as he spoke, “Yeah but between me and you, I think Joao could have had a better season in Chelsea.”
You shook your head in disbelief, fighting back the smile that was threatening to spill out. Your eyes caught his and for a second it seemed like you had been transported back in time, back to when these types of moments were the standard not the exception, back when it felt like you were on each other sides, back when laughter was the antidote instead of tense silences filled with awkward hello’s.
His eyebrow lifted ask if to ask if you agreed with him, and a small murmur of agreement from you was all he needed before he opened his mouth, ready to hammer his point home, but his attention switched last second.
It was like you could visibly see the shift in his demeanor. First, it was his eyes glancing past yours, seeing the midfielder approaching. Then it was the subtle grip on your hand loosening, his fingers slipping through the gaps. Next, it was the complete shift in body, his posture straightening as he leaned his body away from yours, position shifting to face Pedri who had sat in the spot next to him.
To his credit, Pedri acknowledged the both of you but it was clear Gavi paid no mind to you, not evening sparing you a glance as he became immersed in a conversation with Pedri.
You tried to pretend it didn’t affect you and while you could lie to everyone else, you couldn’t lie to yourself. You had built up this evening up so much in your head, telling yourself that tonight would be the shifting point in your relationship and that everything would go back to the way it once was, but it was shaping up to be another Tuesday you had become all too familiar with.
Why did it feel like you were always competing for his attention?
Your mind was reeling, all the small actions Gavi did that you kept pushing aside, were floating back to the surface, each little remark or dismissal a little tug on your heartstrings till you were sure that if you stayed at the table a for a moment longer you wouldn’t be able to stop the onslaught of tears quickly approaching.
You stood from the table abruptly, catching a few people’s attention, but you gave them a polite smile, or at least you hoped it had been polite, you couldn’t focus on anything but the stinging in your eyes and the sinking feeling in your stomach.
You swiftly walked towards the restroom, glancing over your shoulder to see if anyone had noticed but your eyes fell on Gavi’s form. He hadn’t even bothered turning around.
Of course, he hadn’t.
Somehow that hurt more than anything else.
You were immensely grateful for the single-use restroom as you locked yourself in, shaky hands coming to steady yourself on the sink.
Don’t cry. Don’t cry.
You were internally screaming at yourself, begging yourself to keep yourself together but the feeling was too overwhelming and before you could stop you felt the first tears slip down. Your shoulders shook as you forced yourself to be silent, embarrassed about someone walking by and overhearing you pitying yourself.
One hand covered your mouth as you muffled your sobs, while the other dug into the stupid marble sink until the skin was pink and indented. The pain acted as a distraction from the unbearable pressure in your chest, and you instinctively pushed your hand harder into the sink.
Your fingers felt numb as you slowly removed them, closing your eyes to steady yourself. It was obvious that you weren’t in the best mental state, but you couldn’t exactly sit in the bathroom for the next hour to sort it out. You had to clean yourself up and go back to pretending.
Yes, pretending, you realized, was exactly what you had been doing. This whole night you had been pretending, pretending everything was okay, pretending that your relationship was fine when in truth you couldn’t even remember what Gavi’s laugh sounded like.
When had it become all pretend?
Was there anything left here? Were your best years behind you both?
These unanswered questions haunted you as you calmed yourself down, wrapping around you like a blanket, one that provided you no comfort but rather a feeling of suffocation.
Finally, your eyes had dried, and the redness had faded significantly. You had gotten your breathing under control, and you felt a little lighter having stopped denying what had been plaguing your mind for weeks now.
You took one final glance in the mirror, smoothing out your dress as you exited the restroom.
You walked slowly back to the table. You had decided that if you could just get through tonight, go home, and cry and think some more, then by tomorrow morning you would be able to talk to Gavi and decide what to do.
But that plan had flown out the window when you arrived back at the table to a confused Gavi.
It seemed he had finally noticed your absence.
“Where did you go? They served dinner 15 minutes ago.”
“I had to use the restroom.”
“For 15 minutes?”
“There was a queue.” You lied.
He seemed to accept your answer and you chose to focus on your food rather than him.
You were halfway through your meal when you noticed Gavi giving you a double take from the corner of your eye.
“Your eyes are red.” He spoke in a hushed voice.
“I don’t know why.”
“Are you sure?” His attention was beginning to slip again, eyes darting back between you and Pedri.
“Yes, I’m fine.” You heard your voice waver on the last syllable, a tick you had when you were lying, and Gavi immediately picked up on it, facing you fully.
“What’s wrong?”
You shook your head not wanting to get into everything here.
“I’m ok.”
“You’re not.”
“Gavi.” You warned.
“What happened? Did someone say something?”
“No. Just drop it please.” Your voice had gone soft, tired of defending yourself.
“Y/n just tell me, I’ll help.” He urged.
You stayed quiet.
“What’s wrong?” He asked again, adamant to get an answer.
You felt yourself grow annoyed, why couldn’t he just let it go? Why was he suddenly interested in how you felt? You were just trying to protect what little left the two of you had and he seemed intent on destroying it.
“It’s you.”
He looked taken aback, eyes pooling with hurt and confusion, his body slightly deflating, “W-what?”
The moment was interrupted when the announcer took over the stage, beginning the presentation for the night, highlighting a few key players and matches.
You looked away first, turning to face the stage, clapping along, acting as though you couldn’t feel Gavi’s gaze burning into your back as he desperately tried to get your attention.
Once the presentation was over you were quick to excuse yourself, using the pretense of going to get a drink as a getaway.
You held your breath as you walked, praying Gavi wouldn’t follow you, and while he got up immediately once he noticed, he was quickly interrupted by another player coming to congratulate him, allowing you to slip away while he watched helplessly.
You let out a huff, leaning against the bar trying to slow your heartbeat.
“Long day?”
You looked over to see Joao standing next to you, watching as the bartender poured his drink.
“Something like that.”
He nodded, “Me too. Been a long couple of days actually.”
You smiled, “Actually, it’s been a long couple of weeks.”
He turned his head to look at you, “I take it back. It’s actually been a long couple of months.”
You raised your hand in mock surrender, “Ok I can’t beat that.”
He grinned, “Yeah not many people can.”
Your expression matched his own, and you gave your order to the bartender before turning to face him again, “So how’s the season been?”
“Shit. Honestly, I’m not even sure why I’m here I played for Chelsea this season not Athletico.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his abruptness.
“Yeah, I saw your first game. A red card first match is pretty brutal.”
His grin only widened, “Oh keeping tabs are we?”
You gave him a playful glare, “Of course gotta know how Barca’s competition is doing.”
“Oh, so you’re a Barca girl?”
“Since the day I was born.” You revealed proudly.
And it was true, even before you had met Gavi, you had loved Barcelona. Growing up in a family of football lovers, your family had declared FC Barcelona as their home club, and you had witnessed so many legends play for Barcelona and so many underdogs find their true passion at the club.
“Can I tell you a secret?” he asked, and you gave him a nod of encouragement, pretending to zip your lips shut making him smile, “Ok well it’s always been my dream to play for Barcelona. Messi was always an idol to me.” He confessed.
Your mouth dropped open in shock before you abruptly shut it, your eyes almost widening comically as you spoke excitedly, “What oh my gosh. I’m in shock. Messi? But you play with Ronaldo!” You gasped.
He laughed at your facial expression, as he whispered, “I know! That’s why it’s a secret.”
You nodded along with his words, sending him a duh expression, “Of course, I won’t say anything I promise.”
“Promise what?”
Gavi had appeared by your side, a firm hand set on your waist, as he gently tugged you back into his body.
You peeked up at Gavi to see he was already looking down at you, jaw set. You gulped.
“Nothing much, just talking about the season.” You replied.
You saw Gavi’s eyes flicker between the two of you before he brought you closer, “Can we please talk?”
You bit your lip unsure but nodded.
He slipped his hand into yours as he led you to a quieter area. You waved goodbye to Joao as Gavi pulled you through the crowd, and he held his drink up in response.
He was a nice guy. You hoped next season would be better for him than the last.
He guided you to a standing table and propped your hands on the table as he played with the ring on your index finger.
“This a really pretty ring, is it new?” He asked eyes focused on your fingers.
“No, I got it last month.”
“I haven’t seen you wear it.”
“I’ve worn it every day since I got it.”
“Oh.”
You gently removed your hand from his, knowing that talking circles about something so small was going to get you nowhere.
“What do you want Gavi?” You asked quietly.
His voice came out gravelly, “I want to know how I let it get to the point where you feel more comfortable calling me Gavi rather than Pablo.”
His words when straight to your heart, and you could feel his pain almost as much as you could feel your own.
“I-I don’t know.”
You heard his breath falter, “I miss you calling me Pablo. Hell – I even miss you calling me Pablito. I’d take anything over whatever this is.” He gestured pointing between the two of you.
“Ok then let’s talk about it. Let’s talk about where it went wrong.”
His eyes lifted at your words, “Why are you speaking in the past tense?”
You remained silent.
“Amor please, why are you speaking in past tense?” You could hear the panic building in his voice.
“I think we don’t spend enough time together.”
“Ok we can fix that. No problem.” He agreed, desperate to save what was slowly unraveling.
“But do you want to? Fix it I mean?”
“Of course, I do. Please just tell me what to do and I’ll do it.” His voice was almost near begging, and you knew without a doubt that you were in a similar state.
You couldn’t believe that this was happening here, in front of all these people, but it wasn’t fair to either of you to hold it any longer. You had to have this conversation sooner or later and it seemed like tonight was the time for it.
“Sometimes I feel like you don’t have time for me.” You finally admitted what you had been feeling for the last month.
He shook his head rapidly, “I do! But I mean we both have such busy schedules, you have even less time than I do with school.” he argued, “You also have work so that cuts down on the time we have too, but I’m not complaining.”
You were trembling with anger as you spoke, but you kept your voice low, “Yes, because I have to work a job to be able to afford college. I hate the hours probably more than you do, but I do it because I have to. I don’t have an option. I want to go to school? I have to fund it. But you? You didn’t have to go out with the guys after practice or stay around Ansu’s to play FIFA, but you did. That was a choice you made.”
He opened his mouth to retaliate but you weren’t done, “And I’m not even mad about that. I’m mad that for the last month, you’ve put me below every other person in your life, treated me like I’m dispensable, someone who you only consider when you need something. I feel cheap. Like something you only want when it’s convenient to you.”
“That’s not true. You’re my girlfriend!” His voice shook as he spoke, and you realized he was probably just as scared as you were.
“Then why do I feel like I’m not?” Your voice came out soft, barely above a whisper, but it felt like delivering the final blow to an already sinking battleship.
You felt his eyes on you, eyes glazing over as hundreds of unushered words filled the space between you, but the moment was cut short, and you had to remind yourself that you were in public as Xavi approached the two of you.
You gave Xavi a quick hug before he congratulated Gavi on a great season.
Gavi only nodded, murmuring short responses, eyes glancing at you every few seconds like he was scared you would disappear from his life if he wasn’t watching.
He left after a moment, and then the two of you were alone again.
“I’m sorry Y/n, I had no idea that’s why you were working. I would’ve given you the money if you just said something-“
“I don’t want your money Gavi! It’s yours, not mine.” You said exasperated.
“C’mon Y/n you know I have enough to provide for the both of us. You don’t have to work-“
“I don’t want that! In fact, right now I don’t even want to be in this relationship!”
The boy physically shrunk back at your words, your admission sending him into silence as he processed your words.
Finally, he spoke, head shaking in denial, not wanting to admit what was right in front of him, “I-I don’t understand.”
You wanted to yell at him to notice all the signs you’d been sending him, beg him to understand the things you couldn’t say but had always been lurking in the shadows, easy enough to make out if you just paid attention. You wanted to scream that it wasn’t fair, it wasn’t fair that Gavi got to pursue his passion while you were being told to give up yours. Your head was filled with millions of things you wanted to say to him, thousands of little moments you wanted to share with him, you wanted to confide in him about how scared you were, how you had never felt like this in your life, how the thought of him slowly falling out of love with you was ripping your insides apart, making you sick to your stomach. There were so many things but not one left your mouth.
“I know you don’t.” Your voice sounded tired, even to your own ears, and you wondered if this was it. If this is where the two of you parted ways.
“I-I’m just going to go home.”
“I’ll grab our coats.”
You placed your hand gently on his, giving him a sad smile, “It’s ok. I think I’ll go alone.”
Neither of you could deny what it meant.
He ducked his head so you couldn’t see his red eyes. There was a moment of silence, and you could tell he was fighting with himself, trying to figure out what to do to stop the inevitable, until he slowly nodded,
“Ok.”
He had just sealed your relationship closed, something you were grateful for because you knew you couldn’t have done it yourself.
He didn’t lift his head as you walked away, and you didn’t blame him.
You grabbed your coat quickly, bidding goodbye to a few people as you made your way out of the hall.
As you walked down the hallway towards the main doors you realized you didn’t have a ride back. Your roommate had dropped you off and you assumed Gavi would drop you back. Well, that wasn’t happening now. Train it was. One glance out the window told you it was raining, downpouring to be exact.
How fitting. At least the weather matched your mood.
You stepped outside, immediately becoming drenched, but somehow you found comfort in it, at least this way no one could see you cry.
You were about halfway down the steps when you heard the door slam open, yelling coming from behind you.
You spun around, surprised to see Gavi stepping into the rain, “Please stay. Please.”
You stood frozen, unsure of what to say.
You were sure he wouldn’t follow you. But he had.
He kept taking steps closer to you, closing the distance, till you were only two steps apart, “Stay.”
His eyes searched your own, looking for something, maybe a sign that there was hope, something you weren’t sure you could provide.
“Just let me go. We can talk about this tomorrow.”
He shook his head, breath unsteady, “No I can’t. I can’t. I feel like if I let you go now, I’ll never see you again.”
You bit your cheek looking away, he was right. After tonight you had no intention of talking to him again.
His shoulders drooped at your silence, and he sat down on the steps of the building, harsh rain pounding down on him, matting his hair and drenching his extremely expensive suit, but he didn’t seem to care, “I hate fighting with you.”
You glanced down at his figure, watching him sit in the rain with his head in his hands, utterly defenseless.
“But I hate even more that it’s my fault, and that I couldn’t see what I was doing until I felt what you did, just for a second, and it hurt like hell.”
“I should have been there for you. I should have made time for you. I knew what I was doing wasn’t right but then I kept thinking it’s fine I’ll make it up to her next time, but next time never happened because I never showed up. I guess I was just so focused on making sure my teammates all liked me, and they had just stopped treating me like a kid, finally inviting me places - and I’m not using that as an excuse because I know it’s a shit one, it’s on me. Nobody forced me to do anything, I just wanted to feel included, and I put everyone else’s feelings above yours when yours was the one that was the most important to me.”
He finally lifted his head, and he was close enough that you could see the tears streaming down his face as he looked intently at you, almost like he was trying to memorize you, “If you want to walk away you can, you should - I’ll understand. I just wanted to apologize, really apologize, and own up to everything I did. I love you, and I promise you I won’t take anyone for granted the way I did with you.”
Your expression mirrored his own, and the tears were falling freely at his confession now that it was just the two of you. All the things you had wanted him to realize he had. All the things you wished he had said, he finally did.
But was it too late?
“Thank you, Pablo.”
He let out a short laugh through his tears, “No, thank you.”
You gave him a soft smile before you put distance between the two of you, letting the rain mask the sound of you leaving.
The lights from the venue grew dimmer as you continued walking, and you spared one last glance over your shoulder before it disappeared from view, seeing Gavi’s tiny figure rooted in place, watching you leave.
Your steps faltered.
How could you leave this relationship, this boy, when every single warning sign was going off in your brain, telling you to turn around and fight, to not give up? He had understood, he had understood exactly what you had felt, and had owned up to his mistakes, what else could he have done? He couldn’t go back and make it better, but he could change the way he treated you, but how would you acknowledge the change if you didn’t stick around?
It didn’t feel right walking away.
You thought you would feel content, feel like the pressure was lifting from your shoulders, but the dropping feeling in your stomach was multiplying, and your heart was constricting painfully at the thought of never seeing him, never laughing with him, never kissing him again, at the idea of falling in love with someone that wasn’t him.
You never ran faster in your life.
Let him be there. Please let him be there.
You didn’t know how you could explain yourself if you had to walk back into the event sopping wet, eyes puffy, and nose runny.
You couldn’t stop the wide smile that stretched across your face as he realized he was right where you left him.
You sat next to him and he didn’t notice until you spoke.
“Pablo.”
His head shot upon hearing your voice, and his face lifted for a second before falling again, “Di-Did you forget something?”
You nodded.
“Ok I can get it for you, what is it?” He cleared his throat, trying to make his voice clear.
You shifted closer to him, bodies pressed against each other, “I forgot that I love you. I love you and I want to work this out. I’m happy that you took responsibility and I believe you. I believe that you won’t do it again. But I should apologize too – I also wasn’t fair to you, and I did things that I shouldn’t have just to get back at you for making me feel so small.”
“I’m sorr-”
You cut him off, “Let’s stop apologizing.”
He nodded, eyes looking at you with nothing but love and admiration,
“Ok but we’ll have to work on our communication.” He said, and you hummed in agreement.
You touched your forehead with his, staring at each other with baited breaths until he finally closed the distance and kissed you. After a month of not seeing each other, you were finally kissing, pouring all your emotions, all your love, all your pain into the kiss, making a promise to be there for each other, and it felt like coming home.

hey can i get one with Pablo, where he reacts to his gf after winning at the vmas? thanks
Our Song
Summary: Gavi surprise you after your win at the vmas ✨️
Warnings: cursing.
Tumblr media
"I'm so nervous." You say biting your nail. The car is in the queue for the carpet.
"Princesa, don't worry about it. You're going to rock it."
"I don't even think I'm going to win."
"I think that just being there, able to have a platform to share your amazing art, is already a win, babe."
"So you think my art is amazing." You say, joking with him. "Thank you, mi amor"
"Hey, Y/n, we're almost there." Your manager announced. That was the signal for you to say your goodbyes to him.
"Mi amor, I have to go." You pout, not wanting to say goodbye.
"Break a leg, or I don't know. But I love you so much." He laughs, making a ducky face, sending a kiss.
"Te quiero." (I love you) you say, sending him a kiss and telling him to go to sleep.
You take two deep breaths, touching your wrist where the silver bracelet is. The little "P6" in honor of your boyfriend, a gift he made you on your anniversary.
"Ready?" They ask you. You nod.
The screams of the people waiting to see the artists are the only sounds you can hear. The flashes hit you and the camera crew focusing on your arrival. You wave your hands to the public. Making them yell your name.
Your manager pushes you lightly to the way of the carpet. The theme was pink, pink carpet, and pink awards.
You pose for the cameras, smiling at them. Most of the time, all they say is "look over here." Or "on your left." Like if they're Steve Rogers. But this time, the fans screaming are overpowering their voices.
You walk over to the interview spot. Your manager set you up for one only because you didn't feel like doing more than that.
"Hello, hello, so happy to see you." The blonde reporter says. She's one of the nicest people you have ever met in the media. "Oh God, you look amazing tonight. Tell me who you are wearing?"
"Hello to you too." You laugh. "Well, I'm wearing Versace. Donatella and I designed this look for our new collaboration."
"It's amazing, you look like a shining star."
"Thank you."
"Now tell me, you're nominated to five awards, and in all categories, you have amazing competition. How do you think you're going to do tonight?"
"Well, if I'm honest with you, I'll be surprised if I even win something. But as my boyfriend says, I'm lucky to be able to be here, I'm lucky to be able to share my art and have amazing fans who support me all the way."
"Talking about boyfriends, you're here alone."
"Not every fairytale has a present prince." You joke, making her laugh. "He's working, but he made sure to send his good luck wishes to me before the ceremony."
"We love a supportive partner. Thank you for your time, hope you win and have a nice time."
You say goodbye, making your way to the crowd. Tonight, you were seated next to the one and only Taylor Swift. A little starstruck, if you may say.
The ceremony was nice, you danced, you jumped, and you also lost four of five categories. But you knew the awards didn't make you less or more of a good singer.
The last one was Song of the Year. A very hard category to catch. You were in the same category as Selena, Olivia, Taylor.
"Okay, let's calm down a little bit." Nicki says, about to announce the last category. "So, do we wanna know the winner?" The crowd explotes in screams.
Nicki yells the name of the winner, and you are zoned out. But when Ice Spice and Taylor hugged you, you went back to reality.
"You did it." Taylor shouts, getting up and clapping for you.
"Get your ass up, go get your award, girlie." Ice says, pulling you up from your seat.
You walk over to the stage, Nicki hugged you and told you how happy she was for you. You stand in front of the mic with your legs shaken from the adrenaline of the moment.
"Umm, I'm a little shocked, so let me breathe. Woo." You say, laughing and making the crowd laugh with you. "Okay, thank you so much to my family. You guys are one of my biggest supporters to my manager. I love you for believing in me. To you guys for streaming the song, for sharing it, for making it a trend on tik tok." You laugh again.
You took a breath, feeling so out of air. "And to my Pablo, because I know you're watching this instead of sleeping. My love, you're the inspiration of this song. You're the one who listened to this song first. I love you. This is our song, bebé."
You wave the crowd a goodbye, sending a kiss to the camera. On the backstage Karol G hugged you, she was next on the stage.
After the awards you took a flight back to Europe, your world tour Europe leg was beginning in three weeks and you wanted to leave early to adapt to the time zone and also to spend some time with Pablo.
During the flight you watched a game, it was good. After the game, Pablo had an interview. They asked him about you winning and you giving him special thanks.
"Hombre, Pablo. Your girlfriend recently won an award and she thank you. We know you're private about your relationship, but we want to tell you that we love how supportive you two are with each other."
He smirked, thinking about your thank you speech. "Si, bueno somos privados pero yo siempre la apoyo en todo y siempre lo haré. Ella es increíble y la quiero." (Yeah, well, we are private, but I can totally support her and always will. She's amazing, and I love her)
"Thank you, and congratulations about the win."
You snap a picture of the interview, send it to him, thanking him for his words, updating him about you almost landing in Barcelona.
When you actually land, you didn't expect Pablo to be waiting with a big flower bouquet, smiling at you.
You rush down the plane stair, throwing yourself at your him. Legs locked around his waist and lips on his.
"Mi super estrella." He kisses your cheek. (My superstar) he walks with you in his arms, dropping you into the car.
He walks to your manager, taking your bags and saying goodbye to your crew. You did the same, waving them from the car.
"Let's go home, estrellita." He kisses your hand.
The drive home he was telling you about the game. You thank him about the things he said.
"You deserve that and more, mi amor." he says, parking in front of his house. "I have something for you inside."
"Pablo, we say no surprises, you know I don't need anything. The flowers were enough, mi amor."
"I didn't say anything." He laughs, opening the door for you and helping you with your bags. "Go to the kitchen, I know you're hungry."
You indeed were very hungry. So you walked inside and straight to he kitchen. You were surprised to see your family, Pablo's family, and your friends all there.
They all yelled from excitement, and your friends run to hug you. You were still shocked by surprise with the breakfast surprise he pulled.
"Enough, Enough. Let me hug my baby." You mother says. She hugs you, saying how proud she is and how happy she is to spend these days with you, same with the rest of your family.
"Let's eat. She needs some food." Pablo says, kissing your cheek. "Please, serve yourselves."
"Thank you, Pablito." You returned the kiss on his cheeks, buring your face on the crock of his neck.
You wanted to eat everything, there was a lot of fruit, a banquet of other type of food and even a cake.
"The cake has the lyrics of our song." You jump excited. "That's so fucking cute."
"Language." You mom jokes.
Belen and Pablo got close to you once everyone was seated at their places.
"Estamos tan orgullosos de ti, preciosa." (We are so proud of you, precious)
Pablo hugs you, saying how much they love for you to be with Pablo and how amazing the song was.
"We got you a little something." Belen says, giving you a velvet box. "This is also Aurora's. She couldn't be here because of school but she sends you all the love."
"Thank you, I love you guys really much."
You saved the box in your pocket, wanting to see it in private.
You take a seat next to Pablo, who was talking with your mother about football. "But yes, it's been crazy, with the Champions coming up."
Everything was dreamy. You had the boy, the love, and the support. You had everything you ever wished for.
"I want to propose a toast." Pablo announced, getting up from his seat. "Por mi super estrella, ella nos ha compartido su arte y yo sé que todos aquí le hemos demostrado amor y apoyo" He grabs your hand, squishing it. "Congratulations, my love." (To my superstar, she shared all her art with us, and I know that every one of us had shared love and support with her, and I know that this award is important to her.)
You felt so loved, with the most important people in your life giving you all the support. You already won. An award makes no difference.

---
it had been 34 days, 6 hours, and 43 minutes since you’d last seen pablo.
just kidding, you had no clue how long it’s been, but you felt sick with longing. all you knew was it had been a little over a month, and you couldn't wait any longer.
he played in barcelona and lived there as well, but you attended university in cueta, spain. it was around a 13 hour drive away, and with both your schedules being so busy and it being impractical, neither of you could drive so far on the regular.
it was just past mid terms, and you had planned to make a trip to see pablo. you two had talked about it, and he said he wasn’t too busy, and that you two would be able to spend a good amount of time together.
and that was all you needed. you packed your backpack and convinced an unsuspecting taxi driver to drive you to barcelona.
keep in mind, you were a broke university student, you didn’t have money to buy a plane ticket to barcelona as well as a return one. of course if you told pablo, he would pay for it, but you didn’t like to ask him for money.
13 too many hours lately, the taxi driver dropped you off at a coffee shop not too far from pablo’s house. you bought two small coffees and started your walk with your backpack slung on your hunched back. you were so excited you felt giddy.
you tried to get your mind off seeing your boyfriend in a few minutes because if you kept thinking about him, you might've just fainted and dropped the overpriced coffees on the ground.
your hands were full, so you couldn’t text pablo that you were closeby, so you just walked until you got to his house. you placed one coffee on the stone ground in front of his door before ringing the bell and picking the coffee back up.
you were smiling like a little kid, your body shaking slightly with excitement.
it took a little bit of waiting, but the door finally opened.
there he was, in all his glory.
his hair was all disheveled, his grey sweatpants and white t-shirt wrinkled and wonky. he was napping.
he rubbed his eyes in confusion before looking at you, looking at his watch, and back at you.
a toothy grin spread on his face, accentuating his dimples. he bit his lips before finally opening his arms, calling you to hug him.
you squealed in excitement, your hands beginning to wrap around his neck before realizing you were still holding the coffees.
you quickly stepped into his house, placing the coffees on the table near his door before turning around and squealing again, finally getting to wrap your arms around him.
he engulfed you into a warm hug, chuckling into your hair. he dipped his head into the crook of your neck and breathed in your scent. “missed you so much, hermosa.”
you laughed and squeezed him hard.
“i took a long ass taxi ride over here, so you better have missed me.” you planted a teasing kiss on his cheek.
he pulled back from you.
“you took a taxi? bebé, that’s so unnecessary and unsafe! what were you think-“
you shut him up with a kiss, his arms going back to wrapping around your waist. he shut the door behind you, stopping the cool evening air from hitting your back.
“shh, just wanna kiss you” you whispered, kissing him and shrugging your backpack off your shoulders and onto the floor with a thump.
he laughed into the kiss before sighing in satisfaction.
he broke the kiss to look at you.
“did i mention that i missed you?” he teased.
you smiled “no, maybe you should say it again..”.
he bit his lip and kissed you on your cheek “i missed you”. he kissed your other cheek, “i missed you” before kissing your forehead, eyes, nose, and lips. “i missed you, i missed you, i missed you,”.
you giggled and grabbed his arms, pushing him back. “okay, i think i got it. i take it you.. missed me?” you questioned sarcastically.
“spot on, mi amor.”
---
you had finally finished greeting each other. he took your backpack to his room as you removed your shoes and used the washroom downstairs. he came back down to see you handing him a coffee.
“drink it, its a new place nearby, never seen it before.” you said, smiling softly.
he smiled and gently took the coffee. you both took a sip at the same time, locking eyes.
ew.
both your faces scrunched in disgust. the coffee was bitter, bland, and just plain disgusting. it was like drinking plastic.
“ew, what is this?!” you said, covering your mouth dramatically.
he turned the cup over to see the label on the cup.
“el café..?” (the coffee)
he drew his eyebrows together.
“that’s the name of the shop? the coffee?”
you both laughed at the choice of shop name. “how unoriginal can somebody get?”
---
after dumping out that expensive cup of trash people called coffee, you two snuggled up on his bed and turned on the tv.
you had changed into one of his clean boxers and crewnecks which were both too large on you, the fabric your body.
he scrolled through netflix, hovering over each movie he deemed interesting before you dismissed it with a “ew no”.
“baby, how can we watch a movie if you say no to everything?” he looked down at your curled up form, snuggled into the warmth of his torso, leg thrown over his waist.
you shrugged “not my fault everything on here is shit.” he giggled at your words.
after what seemed like an eternity, you two had finally picked a rom com. pablo didn’t necessarily like romantic comedies, but you did, and he loved you. he just decided he would suck it up for 2 hours.
funny enough, the 13 hour car drive was starting to creep up on you. your eyelids felt heavy. the mixture of the exhaustion and you being back in pablo’s warm embrace sent you into a deep sleep.
pablo didn’t notice, and continued watching the movie, internally cringing at some moments. he would be lying if he said it wasn’t interesting.
when you two would finish watching a movie, you would usually complain about how stupid the characters were, or discuss the plot. but ironically, pablo had a lot to say about this specific film.
“i don’t understand why he would leave if he really loved her? i just don’t get the whole concept of loving someone so much that you’re willing to leave them. it’s so stup- y/n?”
he stopped his rant halfway when he saw you practically knocked out against him. you were snoring lightly, which was unnoticeable when there loud movie was playing.
he smiled softly, admiring your gentle features, and placed a loving kiss on your forehead before reaching for his phone.
he snapped a picture of you cuddled up against him and posted it on his instagram story, captioned:
“mi chica soñolienta <;3” (my sleepy girl <3)

Say, “If we broke up, I would get back with my ex.” And see gavi’s reaction before reminding him that he would be your ex if you broke up.
Tumblr media
You were hanging out with a group of wags and their boyfriends one weekend afternoon after long week of games and trainings.
Pablo was playing beach fútbol with Ansu, Pedri, Balde and Araujo while you were sitting with the girls on your towels chatting about random stuff.
"And she got back with her ex, can you imagine!?" Mikky said and you smiled seeing that although 'hating girl gossips' the boys were definitely paying attention to your conversation.
"I mean what's the big deal, If I broke up with Pablo I'd go back to my ex???" you said winking and girls quickly got the joke while Pablo quickly looked towards you having ball hit his head.
"Mierda! What did you say nena!?" he said rubbing his head while Pedri apologized for hitting him.
"If we broke up, I'd get back with my ex.." you repeated like it was nothing and he was just getting angrier walking closer to you.
"So why don't you go to him right now then!?" he said and you started laughing which made him and the rest of the boys confused.
"Que es gracioso??" he said unenthusiastically in disbelief that you could just say that openly in front of all his friends. He never thought you were still in love with your ex..hehe
"If we broke up, you would be my ex Gavinho!" you remind him and he took a moment finally getting it while everyone was laughing around him making him blush a little.
"I hate you.." he whispered and you smiled getting up and kissing his lips passionately making the boys whistle.
"Go play with the boys..and punish me later ;)" you whispered the last part making him smirk and kiss your lips again before returning to the game being teased from time to time from his friends but he didn't give a shit as long as he gets to punish you later ;))
I know it's short but I hope you like it ;) Pablo is so cute when he is jealous haha

the stranger in the airport.
Tumblr media
summary: on your way home, your flight is delayed and you're stuck in the airport. little did you know you would end up meeting a gorgeous Spanish man with the brightest smile.
You almost couldn't believe the letters you were seeing on the screen indicating the boarding time to each plane, the plane back to your home city having a 2 hour delay. You were pissed, to say the least, and tired and hungry, the airport food being too expensive for your liking.
Your check in was finished, most of the luggage you had was about to be boarded on the plane that wouldn't fly for another two hours because of the weather.
When your stomach started aching from hunger, you decided you had enough and made your way to one of the cafes, hoping they would at least have a sandwich.
The cafe was crowded by people who were waiting for their plane that most likely had been delayed as well. You quickly ordered a coffee and a meal and made your way to what seemed like the only empty table left. It was a two person table, luckily. You started reading your favorite book while sipping your coffee and occasionally taking a bite from your food.
Just as you were about to finish reading the chapter, you noticed a presence near you, and looking up you were met with the figure of a man who was standing in front of your table.
"Hola, te importa si me siento contigo? Este parece ser el único asiento libre que queda." Hi, do you mind if I sit with you? This seems to be the only free seat left. The man wore a white hoodie and army green cargo pants, his hair was hooded, but you could see his chocolate brown eyes and friendly smile.
You have been working in Barcelona only for a few months, so you still weren't very fluent in Spanish but you picked up quickly what he said, and nodded your head at him, smiling.
He smiled again, and you noticed just how handsome he was when he took his hood off. You went back to reading your book, but occasionally looked up to see if he was looking at you, but he was too busy typing on his phone. 'Probably his girlfriend' you thought.
He must have felt your stare because he lifted his eyes and you two made eye contact, the butterflies setting free in your stomach.
"¿Qué estás leyendo?" What are you reading? He asked you.
"I'm sorry, I recently moved to Barcelona so I'm not really fluent in Spanish." You said almost shying away.
"Ah, I should have known, you look like a tourist." He laughed and you noticed just how contagious his laugh was.
"Really? What is that supposed to mean?" You put your hand on your chest where your heart was, jokingly acting offended. The small talk and laughter with the stranger making the other people in the cafe disappear.
"I never saw another girl as beautiful as you." He said with a honest gaze in his brown eyes.
"Flirting with a stranger? What if I'm a serial killer?" You asked him while taking the last sip of your coffee.
"Pablo Martín Páez Gavira." He held his hand out across the table.
"Y/N L/N" You shook his hand.
"There, we're not strangers anymore, and I don't think serial killers read girly books like that." Pablo said pointing to your book, and you giggled knowing he was right. "Can I buy you another coffee?"
"No, thank you, that would be too much caffeine for me." You said and Pablo looked almost disappointed, looking down at his phone awkwardly thinking you rejected him. "But you could give me your number or Instagram?" You said just as your flight got called on the speakers.
He gave you both as you quickly grabbed your stuff and passport, ready to leave for the gates before Pablo grabbed your hand and stopped you.
"Call me when you get back? I would really like to take you out one day." He said looking you in the eyes.
"Yeah, I'll call you." You gave him a quick hug and left him standing there, in the middle of the cafe.
Now on the plane, before shutting your phone off, you decided to quickly stalk his Instagram, and your jaw dropped as soon as you opened his account.
"14 million followers?" You said your eyes wide. "FC BARCELONA PLAYER?" You almost screamed, making most people on the plane turn to look at you with a confused look on their faces.

Secret's Out -P.G6
Summary: Everyone finds out you and Gavi are together.
Tumblr media
You giggled against Gavi's lips as they collided once more with yours "You gotta stop" You said in between kisses, feeling his hands roam around your body and bring you into him.
"No puedo. Estás muy hermosa" (Can't. You're beautiful) He said inbetween kisses
"The guys will start asking for us" You separated from him and smiled
"Let them" He shook his head before kissing you once more, you kissed him back for a few seconds before getting enough strength and separate from him completely. "Jus' want to kiss you"
"Pablo" You giggled grabbing his face and stopping his kissing attack.
You and Pablo admitted your feelings for each other about a month ago and ever since then you have been together but no one from his team knows that. You met him thanks to Ansu five months back and you got along with him so good that you got extremely close to each other and eventually started liking each other.
And now, you were here.
You turned around in his hold watching yourself in the mirror, fixing your hair and clothes when he decided to attack your neck "No, stop it now" He sighed and got his head back.
"Es que quiero tanto estar contigo" (I want to be with you so bad). He whispered against your ear kissing your cheek repeatedly as you smiled.
"Y yo también, believe me. Pero, no podemos por ahora" (So do I. But, we can't do that for now) Gavi sighed hugging you closer to him before letting you go.
"Go before I change my mind" He said smiling softly as you got out of the bathroom.
You went downstairs where the guys were chatting about something. You guys were at Ansu's place since it was one of their vacation days before preseason starts and since Barcelona was awfully hot lately, you decided to have a pool day with a lot of drinks to refresh ourselves.
You ran onto Raphinha at the living room as you screamed scared before you two laughed out loud from the stupidity of the scene and from how easily you tend to get scared.
After a few minutes more of laughter, you excused yourself and went to the kitchen grabbing another red slushy before coming outside when you saw Pablo was already there chatting with Araujo and Balde, as you went to Ansu.
"Where were you?"
"Bathroom, then Raphinha scared me and then I went to the kitchen and grabbed another of these" You showed him the slushy while Ansu was really quiet and with a confused facial expression "What's up?"
"Why's your mouth purple?"
"Sorry?"
"Your mouth's purple"
"You kidding"
"Y/N, I'm serious"
"That can't be because I didn't put any lipstick on and I have only eaten..." Your words died in your mouth when you saw Pablo with his purple lips too.
That little...
He was eating a blue slushy whilst you had a red one, you gasped lightly covering your mouth surprised. Ansu quickly turned himself around and looked at the same place you were looking in to.
"Pablo? Really?"
"What's up with him?" Your quick answer made Ansu laugh histerically
"Oh, I'm loving this"
"You're not loving anything" You replied seriously as Ansu laughed and turned around
"Pablo!" Ansu yelled and Pablo turned as Ansu laughed harder making Pablo grow confused
"What's up?" He said coming up to you both, Ansu was red from laughing.
"I'm glad you two are together but try not to make it seem too obvious"
"What are you on about?" Pablo acted confused whilst you were blushing hard
"Red plus blue equals purple" He laughed once more pointing his own lips, you felt Pablo's gaze on you
"¿Qué es lo gracioso?" (what's funny?) Pedri asked coming to you
"You can ask that to the little couple here" Ansu smiled as Pedri looked at you two and then smiled
"Purple?" He smiled as you groaned "It finally happened!" Pedri yelled happily "Those who bet 'till August, come over here and gimme all of your money!"
"Couldn't you wait a few months more?" Balde and Ferran groaned looking for their wallets
"You were betting on us?" Pablo asked surprised, his hand, though, was on your waist.
"It was inevitable. We all saw the eyes you gave to each other" Torre said pushing a bill onto Pedri's hand.
"Wait, who took the first step?" Ferran asked hopeful
"I did" Pablo said confused
"¡VAMOS!" Pedri yelled in victory as the guys took their wallets out once again
"Good news is we don't have to hide anymore" You rolled your eyes and smiled leaning into him, glad all of your friends liked you two together.
"I would have also bet on us, y'know?"
"Ay joder, Y/N"
