some standalone short billions fics that i posted on tumblr first:
Winston teams up with Rian for an unconventional play. Dollar Bill reaches a breaking point.
The GameStonks episode everyone so desperately wanted.
Somehow Mafee鈥檚 forgotten the first rule of Axe Capital: don鈥檛 get Wags mad at you.
Saying goodbye to Axe is harder than Taylor had expected.
The Olympic announcement party gets Winston, Rian, and Taylor thinking about soir茅es long past.

Not sure what's so cray about selling or trading physical goods for a character. Literally So many of people do it and with how shitty gameshill is they could probably get a ton more money selling to a group of whales or trading for what the whales want instead of the $20 store gamestonk credit. Or they could try Ebay Idfc what they do lmao
post related
probably because a switch is indeed a physical good and a literal entertainment system whereas the other is a digital drawing that does nothing. it's trading something inherently useful for something inherently useless

Rewatching Folding Ideas vid on Gamestonk / Bed Bath Beyond and while its totally outside the scope of his video & i understand perfectly why he didn't add it in, i hope someone does a just as researched dive into the 3rd big "meme stock" post gamestock, AMC. the story of AMC becoming totally retail investor owned & subsequently unable to work as effectively due to that (because retail investors don't vote in shareholder votes) is a key part of the phenomenon. Would be drier because there's less funny conspiracies but its fascinating

What Happens if the GameStonk theory is right?
I've been putting this part off, because it's pretty dark. But you remember that scene in the "Big Short" where Ben Rickert (portrayed by Brad Pitt) says:
"If we're right, people will lose homes, they lose jobs, they lose retirement savings, they lose pensions. You know what I hate about investment banking? It reduces people to numbers.
Did you know every 1% unemployment goes up, forty-thousand people die."
Followed by: "Just don't fucking dance."
Companies like BlackRock are so big because they manage IRAs and pensions, and all sorts of things that people rely on for the rainy day about to happen.
If companies like BlackRock get taken out by this thing, we're going to have a "Too big to fail" situation again. People will inevitably be hurt. And while it's their job to safely invest those pensions and IRAs, if the data is right, some of those funds were mis-managed.
Possibly algorithmically.
That's right: the war against AI has already started and they're after our retirement funds.

GameStop Has A Discord Server Now
While many brick and mortar shops have closed their doors permanently as consumers shift increasingly to online shopping, GameStop has managed to keep many stores open despite rollercoaster stock prices and seemingly constant financial issues.
The retailer appears to be revamping its sales model and last month recruited former Amazon executives with experience in developing a successful online marketplace. And thanks to the GameStonks phenomenon that caused the retailer's stocks to soar in January and May, GameStop announced a 25% net increase in profits in Q1 2021.
RELATED : GameStop Stock Increases to Over $200
The franchise has become a mainstay in the gaming community, yet until now it has remained absent from Discord, another service that has itself become a staple for many gamers. Today, GameStop launched its own Discord channel and, within two hours of the announcement, nearly 6,000 people had joined. With over 140 million active monthly users, Discord seems an ideal place for GameStop to establish a community, a place for people to share their passion for video games. Already, the GameStop Discord has channels for popular titles like Apex Legends and Destiny 2, where players can chat or look for people to jump into a game with.
One problem with such a large membership is the potential for spam and off-topic conversations flooding every channel. Also, chats moving too fast to keep up. There are also other issues that need to be addressed. Currently, some members in the GameStop Discord can only post a message once per minute, others cannot share images, and all of the available channels are not visible to everybody. These issues will be addressed with the help of moderators and some tweaking.
Discord has been around for over six years now, and the communication platform has facilitated the creation of communities with a wide variety of interests and topics. Discord has replaced popular VoIP apps like Ventrilo and TeamSpeak for many gamers. Industry leaders such as Xbox, EA, and Ubisoft have servers on the platform, and Sony partnered with Discord directly with plans to bring voice chat to PlayStation in 2022.
There will be issues as many gamers rely on Discord for both party chat and general gathering places to meet like-minded individuals. In May and June, Discord had connection issues, leaving many users frustrated and posting about it on Twitter. For the most part, however, Discord has proven to be a stable platform and should be a reliable place for GameStop fans to hang out and build communities. DISCORD SERVER

The gamestop drama just got fuckin better and by better I mean the wallstreet shit may be more evil than anyone thought.
TLDR: redditor asked himself: Squeezes have happened before, why are they freaking out so bad over this one?
Numbers Indicate: this might unveil a bunch of counterfeit stocks that the hedge funds and brokers were in on.
(Will put the text version in a reblog)
