Alice kept working on the mural until thirst compelled her to get a drink of water -- she enjoyed that by the fountain, then went to scrub up her glass in the bathroom at the same time Victor was scrubbing up some more spoiled food out of the fridge. XD The couple that washes dishes together, stays together? Anyway, she had a jar of eggplant compote (an entire jar, as you can see -- bit of a glitchy session, this one! XD) to soothe her hungry tummy, then went right back to painting and spraying the side of the building. Victor, for his part, took a moment to Copypasto some more Tummy Therapy and Deodorizing Cream to fill out the Herbalism Shelf (I'd love to have put more NEW products there, but as previously noted, I just don't have the ingredients for Smiler to make them!), then hopped right back on flower arranging. By the time they were done, it was super late (hell, I think it was after midnight), and none of them had the greatest needs...

But oh, look at that store! Look at those lovely full shelves! :D The push was worth it -- finally, FINALLY, the store is ready to open! AND Smiler and Victor both got some new skills -- Victor, unsurprisingly, is now up to Flower Arranging level 5, while Smiler has gotten to Apothecary level 4, and now can make an even bigger selection of tablets and gummies! Including Rose Perfume tablets, which, another great way to use up all those flowers they have around...

-->But for now, it was time to send them home -- to find that it had snowed while they were away! Just in time for Winterfest! Alice, being very hungry and needing the bathroom, promptly transformed into her beast form and ran off for a pee and a hunt, while Victor offered up his wrist to the thirsty Smiler, who gladly took a sip of their favorite plasma. Alice returned from her hunt with a steak as Victor stumbled off to bed and Smiler went to check on SimsTube trends, and then (after an adorable moment with Shadow), headed off to bed herself. And so the episode ends with everyone settling in after a day well-spent -- including the fish! :D Yup, for once you can see the whole gang swimming around in there! Just glad Chewy, Punchy, Overthe, and Jangles all seem to be getting along. :)

So yeah -- store is FINALLY good for opening! However, I think we can agree that the trio has earned something of a break. So, next time, the focus is on relaxation, as the gang celebrates another Winterfest! How does it go? You'll have to wait and see...

ok i tried everything. i just can't beat him. fuck the green monster. Got the scrapped watchmen first try but this thing? even with an specter? idk. king of puppets was somehow fun and even victor was "easy" after i knew his moves. but the monster seems to have no window for a attack? he's constantly moving and I can't land a punch. for the first time i really don't enjoy this game ffs.

I remember being excited when Fire Emblem Awakening came out back in 2012 because, although I couldn't afford it and knew I wouldn't be able to for a while, I thought that the price would go down eventually and I had loved Radiant Dawn so much (after picking it up second hand at a game store) that I didn't mind waiting. FLASH FORWARD OVER TEN BLOODY YEARS AND THE PRICE STILL HASN'T DROPPED AND ALL THE OTHER GAMES ARE ALSO ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE (not that I even have a Switch, just my beloved 3DS). SIGH. At least I still have my Wii and copy of Radiant Dawn for when I need to get my Fire Emblem fix... I CERTAINLY CAN NEVER PLAY THE FIRST PART OF THE STORY (Path of Radiance) LEGITIMATELY THOUGH BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE NOW SELLING IT FOR £200 ON EBAY X_X Good for them, I guess XD Maybe it's time to finally try making an emulator work...

I'm so fucking excited to get all this outstanding work done, and for tax season to fuck off. I cannot wait to have more time to play games with pals, go out with friends whom I haven't seen in a few months....go to some random meetups to meet new ppl and create new connections (and perhaps snag me a new person wink wonk LMAO).

And just...have more time to live. To stop feeling as lonely as I am feeling rn. CAUSE HOO BOY, it's been hitting me hard. And I can't do too much about it CAUSE of the deadlines I need to meet!

Got the spearhead fully cleaned up, shaded, and slapped on the end of a stick :D And now we're starting on the highlights! I love doing highlights, they're so much fun, I get to be messy with them because we expect light to be all glowy and all over the place XD

Hello, my dumb vore-infected ass is replaying Kid Icarus Uprising... Also known as, my vore awakening. Why the hell is that swallow sound effect in Chapter 23 so good??? Like, it even has a slight trail off, which is a little hint that something (or someone) is sliding down with it??? Also, his taunting throughout the level is immaculate... And the extra detail that the music in the 'land' portion of the level has a heartbeat in the background of it. UGH. So good.

Hi there! I've watched the chapter twice from someone's playthrough on YouTube and OMG that swallow sound effect?? With the screen fading to black too??? It's nuts!!! It does seem to let the player realize what has just happened! x3

Also... Can I say that I *love* Hades and his taunts? xD Being a pred must bring so much entertainment to him, he clearly *adores* voring souls and "lesser" beings and poking fun at them while they're inside his innards! x3 Like when he wants to eat Pit all of a sudden during the fight at the beginning of the chapter, and then calls him a 'bad chicken nugget' for surviving the fall into his stomach (something even Hades himself is surprised of, btw xD) x3 I admit some of his jabs were a lil off-putting for my taste, but almost all of them really hit the spot! x3

I actually never knew of his existence as a character in the Kid Icarus games (tbf I've never played any up until now, and the only characters I recognized were Pit and Lady Palutena xD), but he's amazingly charming and funny as a villain! (Dunno if he's the real main bad guy of the game, but the dialogue in Chapter 23 seems to imply he is xD)

Also I didn't expect him and Pit to actually start a morality discussion on the 'eating souls and reformation' topic, especially considering the latter was fighting for his life in the former's belly xD the fact that Hades was quite interested in the subject, but at the same time so uncaring for the fate of those he ate really makes sense for a character like him x3

Btw I'd personally *love* being swallowed by Hades! x3 He gets a 9/10 in Pred Points x3 💕

Lemon patterns: for some reason, lemon patterns make my brain happy and so I've been increasing the amount of lemon-themed items around the house. So far, my favorite are my lemon pj's bc every time I wear them, my husband will count the lemons and chant "lemon lemon lemon" and the delight he gets from it is everything to me

Mini VITD Sims Lookbook (Largely Alice Focused Edition)

Hi all -- I ended up downloading and playing with some more Victorian and Victorian-esque CC for Sims 4 last Saturday, looking for some new looks for my Valicer In The Dark versions of Victor, Alice, and Smiler (mainly Alice, as per the title). And, as I'm still getting the next Chill Valicer Save update ready, I figured I'd share the results, in case any of you were interested/wanted some more CC to download! Here we go:

First up, we actually have something that I downloaded from someone’s lookbook post for their Alice Sim a little while ago (I'm afraid I don't remember whose at this point ^^;) – a conversion of Alice’s London dress from Alice: Madness Returns! As in, one Mimoto-Sims ripped this dress straight from the files of that game (along with a bunch of others) and turned it into an outfit in Sims 4! :D I’ve been looking for this for a while, and I’m quite pleased with it, though it is a little weirdly shiny – and if you think Alice suddenly looks a LOT thinner than usual in this dress, she is. Apparently I didn’t make my Sim Alice underweight enough! I think I prefer my Sims 4 version having a waist that doesn’t look like it could snap in half at any moment, though. XD

Okay, onto the CC I actually downloaded on Saturday, with Alice modeling the Ever Elegant Blouse v2 and the Rather Ravishing Skirt v2 from Gilded Ghost’s New Woman set! I ended up pairing these two together because, with the apron, I thought this made another good “maid” Alice outfit – though she looks like she’s working somewhere fancier than Houndsditch in this set, that’s for sure. (Now I’m tempted for her to somehow get her hands on a maid’s outfit from the Van Dort estate when her and Smiler’s attempt to return Victor to his parents ends up in them robbing them for being shitheads who don’t care about their son...) But it’s a nice look for her, and I am THRILLED that this and the other tops from that set worked with her necklace! :D Seriously, so many outfits hide that necklace, and given that it’s suppose to be her wearing Lizzie’s room key, I’d like it to be visible more often than not!

Case in point, the necklace is also visible in this outfit, which is Alice wearing the Jacket Jubilee top with the Perfectly Plain skirt from the New Woman set. This set I just thought looked nice on her, and made a nice – semi-formal? This feels fancier than casual, but not fancy enough to be formal. Like, maybe this is something she’d wear if the gang were heading to the Golden Plum for a nice dinner, or to a park for a trio date. That sort of thing. Not “fancy neighborhood” wear, but a step above hanging around the house.

By contrast, Alice is definitely not leaving the house in this outfit. XD This is dzifasims’s Bespoke Corset, paired with a plain Get Famous skirt that I thought looked like a shift or underskirt (I thought the corset CAME with one, but apparently I was mistaken). It’s nice to have a plainer corset that doesn’t look like it was bought for sex purposes, unlike the base game one. Though I do like the “bought for sex purposes” one too. XD Alice probably prefers this one, though – it’s more her style, and I think it makes good underwear for her.

Onto the masc stuff, with Smiler showing off pandorasimbox’s Azariah’s Sacksuit. I have mixed feelings on this – the basic shape of the suit is okay, and I liked pairing it with the bowler, but as per usual this suit did not have any of the right swatches I needed for Smiler. The problem is, people do a lot of muted colors for Victorian-style clothes, and even the ones that include brighter swatches tend not to do a lot of yellow. Meaning I often end up with poor Smiler wearing beige because that’s as close as I can get. *sigh* I mean, I do rather like the look on them – they kind of look like they’re auditioning for a Charlie Chaplin movie – but it’s gotta be BRIGHTER, you know? *sigh* I gotta learn how to recolor clothes... (Also, amusingly, the boots are actually from Moschino – they actually look Victorian enough when you cover up the tops with a long pant.)

Fortunately, while [LonelyBoy]’s TS4 Solardius Outfit doesn’t have a yellow swatch, it DOES have a black swatch with gold decorative details, and that I can work with – especially when paired with the High School Years shoes I love so much for Smiler in the “black with yellow stitching” swatch. :) Not sure how much I like the high collar on Smiler, but this is certainly not a bad look for them!

And it CERTAINLY isn’t a bad look for Victor, who suits that high collar much better. XD As you can see, Victor got the nice dark blue swatch with the red tie, which is kind of the inverse of his tie/vest color scheme in the movie. XD But it suits him, and again, this seems like a nice, semi-formal outfit he might wear for an outing with his partners where he wanted to look a little more put together. :)

And there you have it – me playing with my favorite trio like dolls again. XD What can I say, it’s fun to dress them up in new outfits! And these particular sessions help inform me of what I’d like my trio to wear in the Valicer In The Dark universe. Since, you know, I’m pretty well obsessed with that these days. XD So don’t @ me, downloading CC is writing research, okay? Okay. :p

With all these timelapse videos, quick tips and "quick sketches" (that are actually beautiful fully rendered illustrations) constantly being waved in our faces on the internet, I thought I would issue a reminder to myself (and to others) that making good art takes a lot of time, effort and often it is hard.

Spending time with other artists I know, particularly my friend who is a full time concept artist, always helps remind me of this but the internet often makes me feel like all art should be completely effortless.

SO, if anyone else is scrolling through tumblr and feeling shit about their art, this is to remind you that often professional artists can spend even hundreds of hours carefully constructing and rendering a beautiful illustration. The best artists use references effectively; rarely do perfect drawings spring fully formed from the head of an artist with no references or construction.

This applies to all art forms as well. When I first started my career as a 3D artist, I was worried that I wasn't working quickly enough but was told to chill out because it is normal for making a nice prop to take a (40 hour) week or more. People who do art professionally get so much TIME to develop their craft so never beat yourself up if you feel like you are not measuring up. <3

Anything you create is beautiful and we are lucky to witness it! <3
