Time has come! Use the OC list you made earlier and answer the following:
1 and 3 are in charge of arranging a general house party. How does it go? 2 appears in the news broadcast. What has happened? 4 and 5 need to buy a birthday gift for 6. What do they get? 3 asks 6 to teach her/him/them something. What is it and how does it go? 1 finds a seemingly lost cat. What does she/he/they do? 5 has to buy a quick snack for her-/him-/themself, what is it? 6 uses a search engine (Google or similar) and searches their own name. What are the top results? 4 has to take one of the other numbers to a date. Who's the lucky(?) guy/gal/other? 2 invites all the other numbers to a party - except one. Who's left out? 3 learns a dirty secret about 5. What is it and does she/he/they keep it? 4 has lost a bet and must get a tattoo. What will she/he/they get? 1 and 3 are stuck in an elevator. What happens?
You can answer with simple text, or take a picture or write a short story if you feel more inspired.
These were the OC's I chose: Brooklyn Gavin Ayden Sage Jayce Arya
A party hosted by Brooklyn and Ayden would go very well. Top tier decor, food and music. Lots of laughs and definitely a friendly dance battle by the end of the night.
Reporting live from Oasis Springs, the sim that was accused of setting his neighbor's basketball court on fire has been arrested. Gavin Richards said it was just a little bit of arson and ten out of ten he would do it again. And I quote "We don't forgive and we don't forget. Richards gang gang for life. POP hold it down."
Sage and Jayce would post long paragraphs and all the pics they have of Arya that they saved just for this occasion. It's not a birthday if you don't shout out your bestie on social media.
Ayden would ask Arya for tips on how to make vegan versions of some of his signature dishes. She would be so excited and definitely try to convince him that plant based is the best way to go.
Brooklyn would do everything she can to get the cat back to it's home and family. She would not take the cat in though. It's dogs only for her.
Jayce has a sweet tooth so he's always going to go for the cookie, brownie, candy bar option.
*heavy sigh* "Mistaken for her older sister global superstar Bailey Kay"
Sage would pick Arya for a catch up/gossip dinner date. History: Arya dated Sage's brother when they all lived in Sulani.
Gavin would not invite Jayce because he claimed to run out of money and didn't bring G back any souvenirs from Komorebi. An hour later Jay would produce the gift that he of course brought his Dad, get called a knucklehead for the dumb joke and still not be invited.
Ayden would keep any secret he heard about Jayce. Jay is basically his little brother. No we're not telling you the secret!
Ayden bet Sage she couldn't twerk in a handstand and he won (twice because watching Sage try was definitely a win). She got a small heart on her lower hip and she said she'll add an "A" i n the heart when they get married.
Ayden would start to panic after being stuck too long in an elevator but Brooklyn would be the best possible sim to be stuck with. She would comfort him and talk to him about cooking, Sage and definitely memory lane moments to get him to forget what's going on.
This was so fun! Thanks Elsa!

[FE3H] This Isn’t An Embarrassment Competition, Guys
Rating: G
Word count: 2520
Summary: They bet on the number of times Felix and Sylvain are being affectionate in public; Annette is certain she won't lose. / post-AM route
Note: AO3 link. Humour, PDA, a compilation of Sylvix being embarrassing. Originally written for Sylvix week 2020!
“500 gold.”
“800 gold.”
“You are all cowards. 1500 gold!”
“You’re awfully confident, Annette…”
“I’ve seen them! I see them too often!”
Annette resists the urge to smile like she’s possessed as Felix joins them at the breakfast table, alone. He raises an eyebrow when all heads swivel to stare at him.
“What?”
“Nothing!” Annette exclaims, waving her hands frantically. “It’s a fine morning, isn’t it?”
“It’s literally freezing outside.”
“I mean, it’s a good day in Faerghan standards!”
Ashe, sitting across her, is visibly wincing and probably trying to become one with his chair. Annette bites the inside of her cheek and forces herself to stop talking as even Mercedes’s quiet amusement starts making her embarrassed. Oh well, they can thank her later for diverting Felix’s attention from their conversation!
Felix deems her reaction not worth another question and digs into his food. A mere minute later Sylvain strolls into the mess hall, grabs a plate of food at random, and heads towards their table, like a moth attracted to light. Annette clasps a hand over her mouth to hide her smile, and she knows they’re all holding their breath. The grin on Sylvain’s face is a dead giveaway.
“Hey guys, good morning!” he greets cheerfully.
He puts the plate on the table, next to Felix’s, and casually bends down to kiss Felix’s cheek not once, not twice, but three times, unashamed and practically glowing with joy.
“And good morning to you, sweetheart.”
“I told you to stop calling me that,” Felix mutters, but there is the smallest hint of satisfaction on his face.
Annette is now biting her lower lip, trying really hard not to laugh. They’re cute, but also disgustingly so. She actually doesn’t know if she hates them for that or not.
She glances briefly at Ashe, then Mercedes, and holds up a finger.
First act of public display of affection of the day. She bet on eight. She’s going to win so easily.
***
She knew that Sylvain would be the kind of person to show off his partner and to kiss them right in front of other people, but she didn’t account for Felix to also be embarrassing in public. Annette is a bigger romantic than they are, but she isn’t going to enjoy kissing her significant other or holding hands with them when so many pairs of eyes are going to judge! She doesn’t have a death wish!
Felix is someone who likes keeping his privacy, but apparently the concept completely flew out of the window once he’s officially declared he was courting Sylvain. At first it was nothing exceptional, just some hand touches during meetings, Sylvain’s arm around Felix’s shoulders as usual, or lingering stares that made the temperature of the room go up at least five degrees. No, it was after their marriage that it started getting out of hand. Something about the bliss of being newly wed, the excitement of beginning a new life, and other reasons that Annette doesn’t quite believe apply to these particular idiots. Ingrid agrees with her; being embarrassing is in their nature.
Annette is visiting the castle for the day and attending meetings about education, and how they can improve the students’ learning experience. She probably won’t be stuck to Felix or Sylvain, but she is certain she will see enough of them to win the bet. And a lot of gold.
She walks towards the meeting room, her steps light. She knows that some nobles are thinking that nobody should appear so eager and happy early in the morning, as if it’s a rule established by the king himself—well, sucks to be them, Annette loves mornings, and this one is going to be wonderful.
Luck is smiling down on her; at the end of the corridor, she can see Felix’s blue coat and Sylvain’s fiery hair. They’re whispering to each other, not urgently, which can only mean they’re telling each other goodbyes for the day. Or the morning. Most likely the morning, because the chances of them not meeting for lunch are slimmer than Felix skipping a training session. Annette is squinting at their figures, then rolls her eyes when she makes out the shape of their hands linked together.
Sweet words and hand holding in the middle of a corridor? That definitely counts as PDA.
***
Meetings are still incredibly boring, even after a few years of attending them regularly. Annette likes contributing to the educational system, but most of the time they don’t make much progress after discussing for one hour or two, which frustrates her a lot. This deserves a cookie break.
On her way to the gardens, she bumps into Ingrid, who is doing her usual rounds in the castle grounds—even during peacetime, she doesn’t take her duties lightly.
“Hi Ingrid!” Annette greets her. “Have you heard of our new bet?”
“Hello, Annette.” Ingrid smiles. “Yes, Mercedes told me she expects the two idiots to be gross in public six times today.”
“Ashe said it would be four times because they calmed down, but I think he’s just being nice. It’s not even lunchtime yet and I already caught them twice!”
Ingrid shakes her head and sighs. Annette wonders what it must feel like to hear about your childhood friends getting into trouble every day, and being unable to do anything to change that. Well, during their academy days, Annette also had her fair share of Sylvain-incidents to take care of, but it’s probably not comparable of years of antics. Ingrid loves them still, which means that this has become a natural task in her routine? Annette still feels kind of bad for her.
“Felix and Sylvain were headed to see His Majesty earlier, before I left for my rounds. Some nobles were asking for an audience, so Sylvain took the opportunity to introduce himself as Felix’s husband who, and I quote, ‘is like the best part of myself, precious and dangerous, and I love him with my entire being’.”
Annette bursts out laughing. “Ugh, Sylvain is such a sap! The count goes up to three! And I thought they weren’t stuck together today?”
“They are not, and that’s exactly why this is ridiculous.”
Maybe they know about the bet and they’re doing it on purpose.Lunchtime rolls around and they all gather in the mess hall once again. Annette sees Ashe already sitting with Felix and Sylvain, the three of them deep in conversation about horses, Sylvain talking with his hands like he always does while Ashe jabs his finger at him.
“Stop talking and eat, we don’t have all day,” Felix says.
Annette sits next to Ashe just as Felix scoops up some vegetables and a piece of meat with his fork, and directly deposits the content into Sylvain’s mouth, who readily accepts the offering with a smile. They’re making eyes at each other. That never happened before; Annette is speechless. Ashe stops talking mid-sentence.
“Wow, aren’t we bothering them, Ashe?”Annette asks lowly, glancing his way.
“Uh.”
Felix rolls his eyes. “What are you gawking at? Mind your own business.”
This is the fourth occurrence. Annette knew she was going to get richer by the end of the day, but she didn’t think it would be that predictable. Don’t they feel embarrassed? Don’t they think it’s awkward to spread their love like that, unbridled and free for everyone to see? Annette would be mortified if it were her. Who does that, in goddamn Faerghus?
Ashe coughs and attempts resuming the conversation from earlier (fast horses or something), but he’s struggling getting the words out because Felix keeps feeding Sylvain. Sylvain has hands! He can eat by himself! Annette is going to scream.
“W-What are you supposed to do this afternoon?” she cuts in, clutching her utensils a bit too firmly.
“Oh, I just have to see some guys for a problem about food supply chain,” Sylvain answers with a shrug. “Nothing exciting.”
“You could come with me to watch the new recruits after that,” Ashe suggests.
Sylvain makes a face. “Are you asking me to train?”
“A bit of training wouldn’t hurt you.” Felix snorts. “I have to accompany Dimitri in his duties today, and I’m going now.”
Felix rises from his chair, and before he can walk away, Sylvain takes his wrist and tugs him down for a kiss on the mouth. It’s the kind of kiss that doesn’t last long, but it’s not a simple brush of lips either, it’s the kind involving sucking and licking. They’re enjoying it too much.
“See you later,” Sylvain says, grinning.
“Yeah, don’t slack off,” Felix says.
Ashe leans towards her, and whispers harshly, “This counts double, right?”
“Of course it counts double,” Annette replies on the same tone. “That makes currently five for me. You lost.”
Ashe sighs. “Well, I had too much faith in them.”
***
Actually, since Felix is with Dimitri all afternoon, he shouldn’t be able to meet up with Sylvain, right? There is no reason for them to cross paths, and even if they did, doing something inappropriate in the presence of the king and other dignitaries would be highly frowned upon, right?
“That has never stopped them before,” Dedue says calmly, almost like he’s accepted his fate.
The greenhouse is quiet, as they water plants and cut some leaves for a tea blend.
“It was funny at first, but now it’s downright disconcerting!” Annette whines.
“You don’t spend much time at the castle, but I do assure you that these public displays of affection have almost become an attraction to many people here.”
“You’re joking.”
The corner of Dedue’s mouth twitches upwards. “I am not. Consider yourself lucky to be away from this nonsense, Annette.”
Still, Dedue sounds entertained. He doesn’t partake in their silly games or bets, but he’s always there to witness the results of the events, collecting evidence of their general stupidity and bad decisions—like that one time they all tried to make a very drunk Dimitri dance and sing, which ended in too many broken expensive furniture, even for the royal treasury; Felix was not amused.
“I believe that they are trying to see how far they can keep this up before someone starts berating them for their behaviors,” Dedue muses.
“That wouldn’t surprise me,” Annette mutters. “Ingrid warned them multiple times, but they don’t listen.”
“They don’t listen to anyone, not even to His Majesty.”
Suddenly, it occurs to Annette that Dimitri has probably seen way more than they all did, and he must be suffering greatly.
***
The sixth time Annette sees them spilling their love all over the place can’t really be considered a show of PDA, but if she caught them in the act, then anybody could. The sun is nearly setting and Dimitri, with his close advisors, are taking a walk in the gardens, greeting the last visiting nobles who couldn’t get a glimpse of him all day. Felix flanks his right while Dedue stands on his left, and Sylvain has magically materialized to trail behind them, all smiles and charm.
Sylvain is saying something to Felix, but Felix shakes his head, like he’s refusing a request or expressing how doubtful he is of whatever he heard. Sylvain laughs, then takes Felix’s hand to kiss it like he’s still courting him, and this time it makes Felix blush at the ears. Something so innocent, which can even be considered relatively common to greet another noble, is igniting such a warm reaction in him. It was a quick gesture but Annette saw it! Even if Dimitri is in the vicinity exuding his kingly aura, drawing attention to him, that doesn’t mean his advisors are invisible!
So yes, PDA!
***
They’re having dinner with Dimitri in his quarters, all eight of them (the Professor is sadly held back by their duties as Archbishop). The room they are in isn’t fitted to accommodate so many dinner guests, but with some arrangement and goodwill they can all sit perfectly around a table.
Felix is sitting on Sylvain’s lap.
“How are you going to eat like that?” Ingrid groans.
“Don’t worry, we always make things work.” Sylvain winks.
“You two look like you are having fun,” Mercedes comments with a smile.
“I’m not,” Ashe mumbles.
“It’s not unpleasant,” Felix says, unhelpful.
Annette glances at Dimitri, who is softly laughing at their antics. Dedue discreetly sighs but he doesn’t seem totally opposed to this...seating predicament, so he’s letting it slide. Unless he’s giving Annette an opportunity to win the bet, which would be extremely generous of him. That’s indeed the seventh occurrence, and it’s now a matter of time before Annette gets her sweet 3000 gold.
They eat, talk and reminisce all evening. Spending time together with no worries, no duties to think about, never fails to bring a smile on everyone’s faces. Annette likes these evenings where they’re not their titles, especially when Dimitri lets himself enjoy a moment of respite, free of the crown he’s wearing.
The hours pass by, bottles of alcohol are emptied, but still no sign of a kiss or loving gazes. Annette supposes it’s still early.
When some of them start dozing off and Annette herself is blinking away her sleepiness, Felix gets up to fetch blankets, then drops them on a nearby couch and yells at them to sleep if they can’t remain awake—that’s actually thoughtful of him. He goes back to sitting too close to Sylvain, but at least he’s not sitting in his lap anymore.
“This can be embarrassing to watch, but I am actually happy to see Felix and Sylvain unrestrained in their love,” Dimitri admits sheepishly.
Annette hits her forehead against the table.
“I don’t mean any offense, but they’re kind of exhausting.”
“Yes, they are,” Dimitri laughs. “But they have always been close.”
“...Your heart is made of gold, Your Majesty.”
“Oh, I am simply waiting for the day it goes too far.”
At this Annette jerks her head up, staring at Dimitri who keeps smiling, his eye glinting with playfulness.
“My lecture will be unforgettable.”
It sounds so honest and normal that Annette can’t help but snicker, imagining Felix’s and Sylvain’s faces twisted in a grimace as they listen to their king rant about propriety and manners and etiquette.
She ends up falling asleep on her chair after talking a while longer with Dimitri, vaguely aware she is forgetting about something.
***
“You’re telling me they behaved?!”
“Yes, unfortunately for you, the number of public displays of affection stopped at seven yesterday.”
“Wait, but those seven occurrences are what I’ve seen and heard about! I’m sure someone witnessed something we didn’t!”
Annette lets out a long whine, as Mercedes pats her shoulder.
“I’m sorry Annie, there is no way to confirm it.”
“So no one won the bet?” Annette asks.
“See the bright side: you didn’t lose money.”
Mercedes smiles kindly at her, but Annette knows that behind this smile her best friend is teasing her. One more occurrence and she could have won… There is no way Felix and Sylvain didn’t know; evil, the both of them.

Willing To Ride | Izuocha
Summary: Izuku and Ochako spend an afternoon at the fair together.
*****
Inko Midoriya ignored her son’s tears of pain as she dampened his hair with a spray bottle full of water, “Do you know what you guys are going to do at the festival tonight?”
Using a hairbrush, she tugged at her son’s tangled mop of hair with all her might, determined to brush out a stubborn knot. Izuku’s face was locked in a painful grimace as she pulled. With a hard plunk, she successfully defeated the knot, then opened a tub of gel and scooped some out with her fingers.
“Erm, I’m not sure. I think we’re just gonna walk around and probably shop or something,”
That evening, a local winter festival was taking place. Mr. Aizawa had told Class-1A that a number of hero agencies would be appearing there with seminars containing information about the pro hero business. He also told them that they would get extra credit if they attended the event and wrote a paper about what they had learned. Upon hearing the idea, Ochako Uraraka giddily invited Izuku to tag along with her since they were both free that weekend. Excited about the prospect of hearing from the pros, Izuku agreed to come.
“Ooh, sounds fun! Remind me again, who are you going with?”
“Uraraka,”
Oh, right!” she stopped for a moment to smile to herself, “Your little girlfriend,”
“G-girlfirend?!”
“Well, isn’t she?”
Izuku opened his mouth to respond immediately but found himself making incoherent noises.
Inko gelled up one of his curls and smoothed it down with a comb. With great care, she continued to work on his hair until it was slick and handsome-looking. It took quite a lot of work considering the amount of hair on top of his head, but in her eyes, it was worth the effort. He went from looking like a green nappy mophead to a classy, groomed boy that even Best Jeanist would be proud of. Satisfied with her work, her eyes gleamed as she watched him check his reflection in the mirror, commented on how handsome he looked, then suddenly rushed to find the extra hold hairspray she had forgotten to use.
Izuku’s face contorted a bit as he inspected his mother’s work. It wasn’t necessarily an expression of disgust, but he felt that it may have been a tad too formal for the occasion. For some reason beyond him, his mother decided that he should dress up before meeting with Ochako that night, rambling something about the importance of making a good impression on a girl when taking her out, looking like a gentleman, and so on and so forth. Heat rose in his freckled cheeks. He had never been invited out by a girl before, especially one as charming as Ochako Uraraka. Her smile had a radiance that lit up every room she walked into; it also had a tendency to ignite a spark within Izuku’s chest that made him feel sort of uneasy, but, in a good way. He gently tapped his fingers against his hair. Smooth and damp. Without his mother’s hairspray, he was sure that his disobedient curls would eventually pop right back out before the end of the night. As he turned to inspect the side, another thought popped into his head. What would Uraraka think about it? Not that it truly mattered in the grand scheme of things. His mom was the one who assumed they were going out on a date, not him, nor Uraraka. Right? Right. Of course. There wasn’t any reason for him to assume it was a date. Furthermore, there was no reason for him to be worried about her taste in men’s hairstyles. But it was a thought that came into the forefront of his mind anyway.
Ding dong!
“Oh! That must be her, I’ll get it!” Izuku saw his mother scurry past him with a can of hairspray and excitedly open the front door.
“Hello, Mrs. Midoriya! How are you?”
Ochako’s unmistakable voice could be heard from the doorway. Almost immediately, the realization of her presence in his home froze him in place. He didn’t dare to turn around, acting as if looking straight at her would set him ablaze. So, he stayed put and pretended to be invested in his reflection, sneakily stealing glances at the other two through the mirror. From his position, his mother blocked out most of Ochako’s figure, so all he could see was the swish of her brown hair.
“Oh, Deku! There you are,”
She came up from behind and circled around in front of him.
“Sorry I’m late. It took a little bit longer than expected to get ready, so I missed the first bus here,” she went for her bag that she brought with her and began to search in it for something.
Izuku took advantage now that she was distracted and actually looked up at her.
She had on a purple coat that was somewhat snug around her form and whose sleeves were a tad too short. It was most definitely something she was quickly growing out of. She probably couldn’t afford to buy a newer jacket with her tight budget, so she made due. There was also a cute black scarf wrapped neatly around her neck to match her black leggings. What stuck out the most to him was the cherry hue to her lips, which was either from some kind of lipgloss or a result of spending a little too much time at the mercy of the crisp, fall wind.
Seeing how nicely she dressed put him somewhat at ease, but not enough to take away his self-consciousness about his hair.
“It’s no problem,” he said.
“Oh, by the way, here’s your ticket!” Uraraka pulled out a stub of paper and handed it over to him. “I saw that they were selling them online, so I just decided to get them so we don’t have to wait in line.”
“Oh, sweetheart, you didn’t have to do that! Izuku could have bought his own ticket,” Inko said.
Uraraka waved her hand and bashfully responded “Oh don’t worry, it’s my treat,”
Coming up behind Izuku, Inko placed her hands on his shoulders. “Well, isn’t she sweet?”
Sensing that his mother was about to say something that would embarrass him, Izuku stood up and put the ticket in his pocket.
“Well, I think we should go. It would be a shame if the lines for the rides got too long.” As two teenagers made their way out, Inko waved them off with the usual parting message of “Be safe!” and “Don’t stay out too late!”
About 20 minutes later, when they stepped off the bus, Izuku and Ochako were completely bombarded by the liveliness of the festival. Glimmering fluorescent lights buzzed in competition against traditional paper lanterns. A loud, roaring hum of festival-goers, moving parts, footsteps, chirps and barks and meows, and squeals. The scent of fresh, piping hot street food filled their chilly noses as the wind blew harshly against them. Filing through a crowd of people, they found themselves at a loss of what to do first. Should they go straight for the rides? Eat a snack? Watch one of the local street performers?
“Okay…let’s see what we’ve got here,” said Ochako, scanning with a hand placed over her brow. “We’ve got two immediate options: In this direction, we can play some games or grab a snack. But if we go this way, we can go straight for the rides….ahh, such hard choices!” she said, shaking her head. Then she wrinkled her face and stared at the ground for a second, and after that, she turned towards him.
“By the way, how come your hair looks like that?”
“Hm? Oh!” Izuku’s hands shot up to his hair and he patted it, remembering what it looked like. “I-it was my mom, she thought that I should something different with it…s-so,” his cheeks reddened. He was suddenly reminded again that a huge part of Ochako’s personality is her tendency to say exactly what’s on her mind, regardless of whether or not she was aware of it.
“Oh. Well, it’s definitely an interesting change, hehe.” she smiled at him before turning to walk towards a map of the festival grounds a few yards away. Izuku followed closely behind, and as they passed a food truck he stopped at one of the windows to fluff his hair back in its usual curly state.
They eventually decided to tackle the rides first, then loop around until they reached the main stage, where the hero agencies would be holding their seminars. It seemed the most sensible plan because it allowed them to grab a bite to eat without worrying about puking it all up on a rollercoaster. First, they hopped on some teacups as a starter, then a wood coaster that felt a little too old to still be in use and which threatened to crack under its own weight at any second, then a spinning vortex ride where the riders stuck to the walls, which Izuku claimed was his favorite so far, but gave Ochako the same nauseous feeling she got when overusing her gravity quirk.
They decided that they needed a break from all of the adrenaline, (and agreed that if Uraraka were to ride anything else in the next ten minutes, she would puke) so they decided to head towards the main stage where the hero seminars were taking place. When they stopped to scan the bleachers for an available seat, an excited, manly voice called out to them.
“Yo! Midoriya!”
They two whipped their heads around to see Kirishima running up to them with a toothy smile; his face was lit up both with excitement and the six glow stick hanging off of his neck.
“Hey! I didn’t know you were gonna come today! Gee, you must have had a lucky streak all day today, huh?” said Uraraka, motioning towards the bundle of stuffed and blown up prizes clutched in Kirishima’s arms.
“You bet! Check this out, this one’s my favorite.” He revealed a small plush Sumo wrestler.
“Oh, it’s Bakugo!”
Silent, blonde, and obviously grumpy, Bakugo strutted his way over to Kirishima with his eyes fixed to the floor.
“It took a lot of convincing, but I got him to tag along last minute,” Kirishima threw an arm around his friend’s shoulder.
“Get your hands off me, broom head!” Bakugo barked.
“Oh shut up and eat your taimaki,”
The boys waved them off (well, Kirishima did, Bakugo completely ignored them) and went to go sit down. Ochako discovered that another one of their classmates, Tsuyu Asui, was sitting by herself near the middle. After determining that the seats on either side of her weren’t taken, Izuku and Ochako went and sat with her. Not long after, the seminar started. It was set up as a sort of panel with a few heroes from different agencies sitting at a table to take questions from the crowd. Of course, Izuku was one of the most engaging audience members, raising his hand every other minute or so and piling notes upon notes into a notebook that he carried along with him. At some point during the seminar, Ochako’s attention drifted from the heroes on the stage and she became fixated on her friend. The way that his hand shot up in the air when another question popped into his mind was incredibly amusing. His beaming, goofy smile and the spark in his eyes sent a flutter in her chest. There was something magical about it, the way he broke free from his shell and let his inner confidence shine through every time he got the chance to talk about heroes. It was strangely intimate, almost like she was peeking at him through a window during a moment of privacy. It felt dangerous. And yet at the same time, she saw herself in the room with him. Absorbing every word he said with genuine excitement and attention. And then, maybe, his hand would fall onto her lap. And as he spoke, his mop of forest green hair invited her, dared her, even, to run her fingers through it.
Then all of a sudden he was facing her. Ochako quickly swung her head away from his direction and focused her eyes to the ground. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see him look her up and down for a brief second before turning his attention back to the stage. Her face burned horribly. Although it was just a quick glance, just the thought of him possibly catching her staring at him was enough to make her flustered beyond belief.
“Erm, Tsu, could you come with me to the bathroom?”
Once the girls left the crowd and turned the corner around a food truck, Ochako let out a sharp exhale out of exasperation. She threw her face into her hands.
“Gah, I feel like throwing up,”
“Then go to the bathroom.”
“What? No, no I don’t actually need to use the bathroom,”
Tsuyu turned her head inquisitively.
“One moment I feel fine, and the next I can’t think straight. And I try so hard to not do that, but every single time it just…comes out of nowhere!”
Tsuyu brought her finger up to her chin and tapped it a few times as she formulated her words in her head, then turned back to Ochako.
“Well, if you bury everything inside you’re just bound to explode,” she said in her usual matter-of-fact tone. Tsuyu always spoke with a laidback, thoughtful presence, and everything she said always seemed well thought out and reasonable. This quality of hers garnered her much respect from her friends and came in handy when she found herself in precarious situations.
Her words seemed to rattle something within Ochako, and suddenly there was a glimmer of recognition behind her eyes. She jolted upright and took on an expression of a mix of shock and embarrassment. She met Tsuyu’s eyes with a pleading expression as if asking if she knew, to which Tsuyu returned a confirming look. Ochako’s cheeks colored.
“What am I supposed to do?”
“If you’re comfortable, just talk to him. It’s better, to be honest than to keep anything a secret, especially if it involves your close friends, ribbit!” said Tsuyu, “Besides, the worst thing that could happen is that he doesn’t feel the same way. And if that’s the case, at least you’ll be able to move on,”
Ochako’s face contorted as she processed Tsuyu’s advice. Pushing down her feelings certainly didn’t work, and as time went on it became harder and harder to maintain her emotions for Izuku. Her friend was definitely right in what she should do. But it’s not that easy! How would she even begin to explain such a thing to him? Especially after all the time they had known each other; her feelings have only grown stronger day by day. She had been burying them inside and piling them up for months on end. And with this combination of burying and piling, they mixed and twisted into something incredibly foreign to her, something so much deeper than just a schoolgirl crush. What if she found herself at a loss for words trying to express herself? Or worse, overwhelming him with her feelings?
The panel had ended while the girls were still “in the bathroom,” and as the crowd dispersed, they made their way back to find Izuku. The three chatted about the seminar for a few minutes, and then Tsuyu parted ways to head home early. Checking the seminar off their list of things to do, Ochako and Izuku went back to strolling around and amusing themselves with the diverse array of activities that surrounded them.
After a while, they passed by the giant Ferris wheel, which towered over everything else in the park, save for the giant spinning swings. Ochako immediately lit up at the sight of it, encapsulated by the bright, rainbow lights decorating the spokes, which flashed in crazy patterns in sync with the music being played by some speakers attached to the base.
“Ooh! Let’s go there!” she said, grabbing Izuku’s arm and dashing towards the line.
After they had gotten on the ride, Ochako leaned forward a bit to lean against the protective bar, pulled the cuffs of her coat up to cover her cold hands and gave them a blow of warm air from her lips before resting her face on them. Izuku watched her do this with odd fixed attention. Her puckered lips were still as cherry red as before. For some reason, he felt the urge to start a conversation with her, but as his mouth moved to form words, he realized he didn’t have anything interesting to say. So, he bumbled a bit and spat out something along the lines of
“s’cold, isn’t it?”
Ochako turned towards him and the expression on her face told him that she didn’t catch what he had said. He colored.
“...Ya know, I know that this was kind of an assignment for class, but I’m really glad you came with me today,” she said.
“Oh. Really?”
“Yeah, really. It’s funny, I wasn’t expecting you to actually come. Well, actually I was, but I wasn’t at the same time. Yeah I know it’s confusing, gah!”
Ochako turned away and hid her face behind her hand in a motion that made their seat swing a little bit. Startled, the two quickly grabbed onto the seat in an effort to stabilize it. In doing so, their hands touched each other accidentally as they clasped the protective bar. Ochako quickly snatched her hand away, then did a double-take at him.
“Woah, your hands are so warm!” She said, clasping his right hand in between both of hers, like a hand sandwich.
“Are they?”
Izuku pretended to be unaware, but he knew that the cause of it was because he had been in a nervous sweat the entire evening. It was actually a relief to feel her cold touch against his burning palm, at least it was for a few seconds. Because he felt them get clammy as he noticed how long she had been clasping it. Finally, she let it go.
“I wonder. Do you think Todoroki has warm hands or cold hands? Or both?”
“I’m not sure,” he replied. Then he went on to contribute to the thought, only to be interrupted by a sudden commotion from below. There was the sound of a gross, manly screech that echoed from some unknown origin. Startled, the two looked around themselves, then on the ground below, and couldn’t find a thing. There was a beat of silence. Then they looked at each other, and then they both broke out into laughter. For some odd reason, the strange noise provided the catalyst for a release they both desperately needed. And they laughed hard, until the point where their sides hurt. Ochako had a hand on his shoulder and was grabbing it to keep herself from falling out of the seat. Their cheeks went sore from smiling for so long and for a moment it seemed like they had forgotten what had even caused them to laugh in the first place, but they didn’t care.
Izuku wiped a tear from his eye, then looked ahead and beamed as he realized that they had finally reached the top. Ochako followed his gaze. Since they had arrived, the time had droned on in the background, and at that moment they just realized that the sun had finally set and it was dark outside. So, the lights and lanterns that shone wild colors were even brighter than before. It was mesmerizing. A draft of cold wind snuck up on them and licked at the back of Ochako’s neck. She shivered harshly and pulled her slightly undersized coat tighter around her. Noticing that it hadn’t really given her much relief, Izuku asked her again if she were cold. This time having understood him, she nodded with a grimace. He then, with a quick moment of hesitation, scooted closer to her and tried to reach and put his arm around her.
KaBOOM!!!
Before he could touch her, the ride trembled in the shockwave caused by a sudden explosion. Their seat swung violently and they were thrown into each other. Screams of terror emerged from other riders and Izuku himself. He looked about and saw a commotion a couple of yards ahead. Twenty yards across was the stage where the hero seminar was held, although now it was set up for some magic show and there was a gust of smoke on stage from which a figure in a maroon cloak and an animal mask emerged.
“Oh ho ho! I admit, even I jumped a little with that one,” the cloaked figure’s voice boomed through a microphone.
Izuku’s mouth hung open in disbelief and he clutched his heart. Ochako was holding her mouth shut in an effort to contain her laughter. She turned and cupped his cheeks with her hands, making sure to keep both pinkies off of his skin in case her anti-gravity quirk activated.
“You’re such a dummy,” she said.
His mouth curled into a crooked shape and he shrunk down. His nervous sweats came back full force as his cheeks turned into red blotches.
The ride was over and once they hopped off they decided that it was time to leave. On the way out, Izuku bought Uraraka a snack from one of the food trucks as a treat and a thank you for inviting him along. Then they boarded the bus and rode it all the way to Uraraka’s street. They hopped off and walked until they found her apartment complex.
When they reached her door, she turned towards him. She let her hand fall upon the side of his bicep and she gave it a friendly squeeze.
“I guess this is where we part ways,” she said.
Then her hand traveled down until their fingers met. In an impulse she took the opportunity to fully grab onto his hand, first cupping it, then intertwining her fingers in between his. His hands were warm. She smiled.
“Goodnight,”
She kissed his cheek, squishing her lips against his cool skin for what felt like the blink of an eye.
A jolt went through Izuku’s body and once she pulled away he immediately reached up to touch the spot her lips touched. Blood rushed into his face as the sensation lingered.
The slight stickiness confirmed that she was, in fact, wearing cherry red lipgloss.
He opened his mouth to say something but she had slipped into her apartment and closed the door before he could.
For a moment he stood there alone with only the sound of the wind blowing by. His heart fluttered inside of his chest. And he forgot to breathe for a few drawn out seconds. He eventually broke out of his shocked stiffness with a very slight, almost unnoticeable smile. A light chuckle escaped his lips and he shook his head as he quickly walked off in a stupor.
((Hope you guys liked it!! This is my second BNHA fic and I really liked how it turned out. This may have a part two, idk yet. Hope you enjoy!!))

Danganronpa V3: Building a Good Post Game Team
(POST GAME SPOILERS BUT NO V3 STORY SPOILERS)
So recently I’ve been working on a guide to build a good team for the Post Game modes in Danganronpa V3 for a friend. In the end, this became so long that I decided it would be better to just post it publicly to help anyone else who needs it. This is not a full guide on the Dungeon Mode but more so how to craft the ideal team in preparation for it. Please keep in mind that this is just my personal way of crafting a team, there are many other methods that can bring about the same level of success. The guide is under the read more! If you spot any mistakes, please feel free to contact me so I can correct it.
You will usually alternate between modes you play. First you will create a character in the Ultimate Talent Development Plan which you will then take into Despair Dungeon: Monokuma’s Test, and then you will take the currency earned from the dungeon into the Ultimate Death Card Machine to earn cards of other characters that you will take back into the Ultimate Talent Development Plan and restart the process. Since this guide is in preparation for the Dungeon (the late game of the dungeon specifically since the first half will mainly just be alternating between whichever cards you have at that time,) we’re going to start with the Ultimate Death Card Machine and work our way down.
Ultimate Death Card Machine The Ultimate Death Card Machine is a gachapon that is to be used alongside the Ultimate Talent Development Plan (Board game mode) and Despair Dungeon: Monokuma’s Test (RPG mode). You pull cards using the currency of G (obtained in Monokuma’s Test) and there are 3 different gachapon’s you can pull cards from; one for DR1, one for DR2 and one for V3. For each character, you can pull an N Card (The most common and weakest card), an S Card (Rarer than an N card) and a U card (The rarest type of card). At the beginning, you will only be able to pull N cards, with the probability of getting rarer cards increasing as you progress further in Monokuma’s Test, you will also begin to find S-Ticket and U-Ticket collectibles as you progress in the RPG, which guarantee the type of card that is pulled. This mode is all about luck and probability, so you will find yourself getting duplicates often. Duplicates are traded for materials that can be used in Monokuma’s Test.
Ultimate Talent Development Plan The Ultimate Talent Development Plan is where you are going to spend time levelling and optimising the cards won from the Ultimate Death Card Machine as you choose to. When you first begin, you will only be able to pick characters from V3, the first step is to create four of these and take them into the dungeon, from there you will be able to start earning G which you can use to unlock characters from 1 and 2.
Specialties Characters come in three different specialties; Sport (Red), Intelligence (Blue) and Variety (Green.) Sports characters specialise in Physical Damage, Intelligence character specialise in Magic damage and Variety characters specialise in Support. You can take four characters in with you to Monokuma’s test at a time, but I would highly recommend making a mix of characters with different purposes. Though, for a general main team, my personal recommendation is two reds, one blue and one green. While I made other characters (which I will go over later), these were my go to characters for general dungeon exploring.
The Board Game The goal of the Ultimate Talent Development Plan is to make it through 3 years at Hope’s Peak Academy. There are numerous courses set for different ways of optimising your team and each year gives you the opportunity to change course. Each year is 12 dice rolls around the board with an end goal that you need to hit before your turns are over. The key to the mode is travelling around the board efficiently and trying to get the boosts you want, while keeping focus of the distance you are from the end goal. At the end of the year you will have an exam. The exams are boss battles that will earn you talent fragments to be used for skills. Failure to hit the end goal by the end of the year results in no exam for that year and you will be forced onto a despair course for the next year to make your run more difficult. Luck can be quite heavily involved in this mode since having bad dice rolls will affect your stat gain, but there are ways to work around these which will be explained later.
Options For each roll of the dice, you have a number of options that you select when choosing your role, these are as follows: Small Move – The result of the dice roll will be between 1 -3 Large Move – The result of the dice roll will be between 4 – 6 Card – You will earn cards from the Monokubs as you play as well as earning them by landing on other students, you can use these cards here to affect your game in different ways. Check Course – This allows you to look around the entire course, it’s a good way to plan your rolls. Obtain Skill – There are various skills that you can obtain that are to be used in the dungeon, you can have up to five at a time and are obtained using Talent Fragments that you earn during your game. You can also obtain skills at the end of each year before your exam. Check Talents – View your current stats, skills and Talent Fragments Quit – Go back to the menu. Your game will be saved when you do this so that you can resume play at the same spot in the future.
Stats One of the biggest goals of the Ultimate Talent Development Plan is buffing your characters stats through either: Level up, Event Squares, Friendship Squares, Surgery or Exams (More on these further down). Stats you earn will likely be different each time since it is all dependent on the rolls you get during your run on the board game. Here is a list of stats along with what they mean:
Influence – Your HP; if your characters runs out, you will die. If all 4 of your characters die at the same time, you will get a game over. Focus – Your MP; If your character runs out, you’ll no longer be able to use special moves so make sure to conserve this for times when you need it most. Strength – The higher the number, the stronger your character’s physical attack will be. Defense – The higher the number, the less damage you will take by opposing physical attacks. Intellect – The higher the number, the stronger your character’s magic attacks will be. Fortitude – The higher the number, the less damage you will take by opposing magic attacks. You will also have less chance of being affected by status conditions if this stat is high. Agility – This is used to decide turn order; the highest number will go first in battle, having a high number also makes you more likely to avoid opposing physical attacks. Luck – This is used to decide how often your attacks will become critical hits, or how often you will successfully run away in battle.
The difference between N, S and U Cards As mentioned above, you will be starting with N cards and progressing your way through the dungeon to start unlocking more, U Cards will be your saviour during the second half of Monokuma’s Test. The type of card affects the growth rate your character will have, with the rarer cards getting the larger stat, level and skill buffs. As such, rarer cards will have higher stats and be able to hit level 99 which lower type cards will not. As an example, I am going to show you each type of card in my personal file and the stats that they have after a full boards game worth of training. (I have chosen 3 variety types as they have similar stat growth, e.g. Magic users will gain intellect quicker while variety users will gain stats in a balanced way, so using the same type here showcases the difference in stats more effectively.)
Mikan Tsumiki – N Card Level: 27, Influence: 76, Focus: 106, Strength: 16, Defense: 32, Intellect: 33, Fortitude: 73, Agility: 23, Luck: 44 Hiyoko Saionji – S Card Level: 64, Influence: 126, Focus: 250, Strength: 58, Defense: 81, Intellect: 62, Fortitude: 172, Agility: 50, Luck: 67 Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu – U Card Level: 99, Influence: 334, Focus: 294, Strength: 160, Defense: 108, Intellect: 172, Fortitude: 155, Agility: 177, Luck: 250
(Each run of the board game locks your character at the level you ended with, if you wish to get a higher-level version of that character, you will need to create the character from scratch, you can save up to 3 cards of each character.)
Board Courses As mentioned before, there are several different boards you can play, these consist of: Normal Course – This course has a lot of Growth Squares to level up your character. Talent Course – This course has many Talent Squares to help you collect Talent Fragments and set the abilities you want on your character. Friendship Course – This course has a lot of Event Squares and Friendship Squares; this course is a good way to get some high stat boosts. Future Course – This course must be unlocked by earning 100,000 casino tokens and purchasing the Super Lucky Button from the Casino (I would recommend playing the Salmon Fishing game to get these tokens, getting an S Rank on Mean Mode will quickly gift you the tokens you need if you bet in 5000-10,000 tokens at a time.) The Future Course is full of Event squares with the characters from DR3 Future Arc, it’s a lot of fun seeing these events with the characters from the anime, but it’s not a board I’d recommend playing to boost your stats. It has a lot of Despair Squares and while it can be a matter of risk vs. reward, as the skill and stat buffs you can get from this course are large, I still wouldn’t recommend it as even using the large roll each time won’t guarantee you making it to the end goal in the roll limit. I didn’t use this board once for optimising my characters so it’s definitely not necessary. I’d advise just playing this board separately to view the fun events without worrying about your stats. Despair Course – This course cannot be chosen from the regular course choice and is instead forced onto you as a punishment if you fail to get to the end goal by the end of the year, the Despair Course is full of Despair Squares, making it a dangerous course to spend a year on. My advice for using the boards effectively is to only use the Normal Course while you still only have N Cards, move onto 2 years of the Normal Course and one year of the Talent Course with S Cards (though levelling up is still a priority so if your level is low, do the Normal Course for the third year too). When you have U Cards, your choices in course are going to play a much bigger role in how effective your cards are, I personally use the Normal Course on the first year to get a head start in levels, the Talent Course on the second year to build up a good number of talent fragments and the Friendship Course on the third year for more stat boosts. While doing these, I will also make sure to keep an eye on my level as after the first year I likely will not be at Level 99, so I will try to gain these levels in the other course while I focus on my other targets. Another piece of advice I’ll give is to try your best to stick to your courses specialty (for example, on the normal course, prioritise the growth squares, the other squares can be prioritised on the later courses.)
Squares Each course will have a variety of different squares that will affect your character in various ways, while courses generally have a focus on a certain type of square, you will often see a variety on each. Growth Square – The blue square; this square will give you level ups and stat boosts, once you hit Level 99 these squares become useless so be careful about that, you don’t want to waste turns. Talent Square – The orange square; you will be offered a choice for the colour of Talent Fragment you want out of red, blue and green. The best way to decide which one you should choose is to look through the skills that you want and to see which fragments you are lacking. (More on skills further down.) You will then be given a dice roll to determine how many fragments you receive. Friendship Square – The pink square; these squares begin interactions with the character you chose and various other characters from the franchise, each one earns you stat boosts and then when you have completed all 5, any further Friendship Squares result in you talking to a Monokub and getting a small boost to every stat. (Equivalent to stat buffs you would get from regular level ups, making this a good way to continue to increase your stats even after you are max level, this is the main reason I recommend doing this course on the final year, spend the first two years getting the levels and skills and use any remaining time to buff your stats further.) Event Square – The Green Square; you will be put into small events where you will often be given a choice, the choice you make determines which stat of yours gets a buff. Despair Square – These squares will force your stats to decrease if you land on them, a Despair Square can be countered with a Hope Card.

There are also different events with choices on the Future Course, I am not going to include these as this is really not a course I would recommend for stat building. You may get success out of it, but so much of the course is luck dependent that I don’t find it reliable enough for building a good character.
Seasonal Events During each year, you will be placed into an event like the Friendship Squares. You will be given a choice between three options and depending on what you choose, you will interact with a different character. These events are helpful as depending on the choice you make, you will receive a certain colour of Talent Fragment. I am not going to list every character and who gives which fragment since I don’t want to make this longer than it already is (listing out over 50 characters and 3-year events for each would make this ridiculously long), just keep in mind that with experimenting and note taking, you will learn how to get them quickly. There are only three options to choose from each time and it stays the same so it won’t be as random as events. If you are planning to build a character and you desperately want to know what options to choose for the appropriate fragments, please feel free to send me a message and I can give you the answers for that individual character.
Types of Character While I have mentioned before that each character falls under one of three specialties, there are a number of sub-specialties for each, these are as follows:
Sports Characters: High strength – Sakura Oogami, Peko Pekoyama and Maki Harukawa, High speed with slightly less strength – Leon Kuwata, Aoi Asahina, Mukuro Ikusaba, Akane Owari Tenko Chabashira and Ryoma Hoshi Tank (high HP and defences) – Mondo Oowada, Hajime Hinata and Nekomaru Nidai, Kaito Momota and Gonta Gokuhara
Intelligence Characters: High Intellect – Byakuya Togami, Chihiro Fujisaki, Touko Fukawa, Sonia Nevermind, Chiaki Nanami, Miu Iruma and Shuichi Saihara Mixed attacker (higher in intellect, but also decent in strength) – Junko Enoshima, Imposter (who has an exception in being the only one of these characters to actually have intellect as high as the first set of characters, as well as decent strength), Kazuichi Souda, Kirumi Toujou and Kokichi Ouma High Speed with slightly less intellect – Kyouko Kirigiri, Celeste, Mahiru Koizumi, Tsumugi Shirogane and Korekiyo Shinguuji
Variety Characters: Extremely high Luck – Makoto Naegi, Nagito Komaeda and Rantaro Amami Tanky Support (decent Defense and very high Fortitude) – Yasuhiro Hagakure, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Hiyoko Saionji, Mikan Tsumiki, Himiko Yumeno and Angie Yonaga Speedy Support (high speed and fortitude) Sayaka Maizono, Gundam Tanaka, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu, Ibuki Mioda, Kaede Akamatsu, Kiibo
Skills Collecting Talent Fragments are important as collecting enough of them will allow you to obtain skills. Instead of listing out each skill individually, I’m going to use the character varieties I listed above and give examples of skills I’d recommend putting on them. (Remember that you can only have 5 skills at a time, so while I may be listing more, please keep in mind that you can only choose 5.)
Skills I’d recommend for any type of character: Intelligence Skills – Absorb Focus (absorbs the MP of the enemy and restores it back to yourself) Variety Skills – Recover Influence (Restores HP) and Fighting Spirit (Revives a fallen ally), these two are more helpful on variety characters but I find it good to use it on multiple members of the team in case of emergencies like running out of MP on one character.)
Skills I’d recommend for dungeon crawling (not battles): Variety Skills - Fog (Avoid enemy encounters for a while) Other Skills – Drop Rate Up (Gives you a higher chance of collecting materials in the dungeon) and G Gain Up (the amount of G you obtain for defeating enemies increases).
High Strength and High Speed Characters: Sports Skills – Sword Stab (deals heavy damage), Summer Rain Fist (attacks all enemies), Falcon Kick (attacks consecutively, great for high money dropping enemies that flee from battle), Zeal (powers up the next turn). Other Skills (other skills will not show up in your moves, it instead gives a buff to the ability mentioned) – Attack Power up, Skill Power up, Awakening Up
Tank Characters: Sports Skills – Sacrifice (a priority move that shields an ally), Ultra Defense (allows you to take reduced damage for that turn and protect you from status conditions) Variety Skills – Ice Barrier, Electric Barrier and Wind Barrier (all barrier moves have priority and result in you taking reduced damage from the respective magic ability for a few turns) Other skills – Defense up, Endurance up (lowers chance of receiving status conditions, this is ideal for support characters as having them ineffective for even a turn can mess up your strategy)
High Intellect and High Speed Characters: Intelligence Skills – One of either Ice Freeze, Electric Paralyse or Wind Jet, (focus on one instead of all as using all will waste slots. Different enemies are weak to different types of magic so my recommendation would be to build three of these characters with each one focusing on a different magic ability). one of either Ice Freeze All, Electric Paralyse All or Wind Jet All (This is similar to the last one but it hits all enemies, it’s up to you if you’d like to use less characters and mix magic but my personal recommendation is to keep all ice on one magic user, all electric on another, etc.) Other Skills – Skill Power up and one of either Ice Power Up, Electric Power Up or Wind Power Up (this is another reason I recommend sticking to one ability for each magic user, you can just focus on one of these as opposed to multiple.)
Mixed Attacker Characters: Sports Skills – One of either Sword Stab or Summer Rain Fist Intelligence Skills – One of either Ice Freeze/Ice Freeze All, Electric Paralyse/Electric Paralyse All or Wind Jet/Wind Jet All Other Skills – Attack Power up, Skill Power Up, One of either Ice Power Up, Electric Power Up or Wind Power Up
Variety Characters (I would generally recommend the same for all types of Variety characters, this is a good lot to split between multiple variety type characters): Sports Skills: Ultra Defense Intelligence Skills: One of any Magic Move (so that the support character has options is nothing is needed of them). Debuff, Poison, all other status conditions are worth considering but I find poison to be the most useful. Various enemies are weak to different kinds of status so it’s good to use trial and error. Variety Skills: Recover Influence and Fighting Spirit (I did mention these as considerations for every character but I find it especially important on variety characters.), Cure Condition (I’d recommend putting this on a speedy support character so that you can heal status effects before your allies move.), Strength Up and Intellect up (these are to buff ally’s) Other Skills: Defense and Endurance Up
Ultimate Talent Development Plan Tips Now that I’m winding down, I’m going to add some smaller tips here that I didn’t find a place to put anywhere else: - If you get a High Jump Card, save it for when you start your next year. Use it immediately on the first turn and get a good head start, this makes the end goal less daunting and allows you to use the smaller dice more often, allowing you more freedom in getting the squares you want. - The Monokubs will occasionally ask you if you want a surgery, definitely say yes to this if you have a success card as a successful surgery results in huge stat gain. Without a success card it’s random whether the surgery succeeds or not, with a failure resulting in huge stat losses. My advice if you don’t have a success card would be to still agree to the surgery if you’re still early into your game (so that you can just start over if it fails) or you haven’t had the best run so far in your game. - If you get a Course Change Card and you don’t have a huge need for Talent Fragments, then it’s okay to fail reaching the end goal for that year and simply warping out of the Despair Course on the first turn of the next year, the course you get given will still be random, however. - Getting a skill up to Level 10 comes with huge benefits, for example, obtaining a Level 10 Recovery Influence will allow you to heal all of your allies instead of just one, make sure to prioritise skills that will be most valuable to get Level 10 at. I like to write down the skills I want each run and the Talent Fragments that I need for the first level up. Throughout the game whenever I get more Talent Fragments, I will immediately use them if possible on the skills I want to get a better idea of which Fragments I need to prioritise next. - The exams will get easier as you get higher ranked cards, if you get an S Card in an ally character, they will appear at Level 45 during the exam, and U Cards will appear at Level 99. The best way I would recommend defeating the exam bosses are a mix of Summer Rain Fist and a Magic All attack, you don’t have to worry about your MP since these enemies will fall quickly, so go all out!
Despair Dungeon: Monokuma’s Test Tips While I am not going to be writing out a full guide for Despair Dungeon, I am also going to offer a few small helpful tips to get started. - Every time you find an elevator (every 5 floors) you can save your progress and restore your health, you can also go back and visit these past floors at any time with treasure chests that were left behind still available. If you want to take a fighting team in to clear the way first and then go for a treasure hunt run later with more dungeon crawling optimised characters, that can be a really good idea. - Your team is going to change constantly, I’m going to go into more detail below about the types of characters you can expect to be switching between. A quick example of this is that Tank characters are great for boss battles but much less effective in the regular climb, I would usually take a fighting team in first and then when it was time to go for the boss, I would start the climb again with the tank and conserve the team (I would recommend conserving the team by either using fog, or having high luck so that you can run from battles easily). - Keep in mind that the layout Floors are not randomly generated, they will always have the same layout and the second half of the game reuses the first 50 floors on a higher difficulty. Making notes of the layout on each floor (for example, stairs in the top right corner, treasure chest near the bottom of the map) can be really helpful when you hit the second half of the game. - If you are struggling to earn G and you are still in the first half (first 50 floors) in the dungeon, I found a good strategy was to just start a completely new game (from the menu, not by just returning to the entrance), you keep all equipment and materials you had previously, but treasure chests will reset, allowing you to earn G all over again, and collect multiples of helpful equipment to use on all your characters. This isn’t helpful after the first half of the game as the G and equipment you get won’t make much of a difference anymore but this is really helpful in the early game. -There are exisal bosses located around the floors with a horde of treasure that they’re protecting. Hitting them with all your strongest attacks is a good way to defeat them but each one also has a weakness that you can use to your advantage (for example, one is really weak to poison and while it took 1 damage from every attack we hit it with, it took 14,999 damage from poison each turn.) Fortunately, they are usually located on the same floor as an elevator so make sure to go save first, and then come back for them after. - While most bosses can be defeated with regular hard-hitting moves, the boss on 40F has blind which can severely damage your team by making them likely to miss attacks. Make sure to bring someone with Cure Condition (preferably Level 10) to this fight.
There is a secret final boss after completing the 100th floor, I am going to offer tips for this boss below, as well as the team I used to defeat it.
Characters I alternated between in the dungeon I created a character for almost every type of specialty I listed way above (except for the lucky variety specialty). I’m going to give a list of characters and skills I brought with me in most instances, and then characters who had more secondary roles (I would bring them in if they had something I needed for those 5 floors, but otherwise would sit in the back).
My Main Team (I would use as close to this team as possible with N and S Cards but since they were weaker, some skills would either be left out or be a much lower level): (Red High Attack) Peko Pekoyama – Skills: Sword Stab Level 9, Summer Rain Fist Level 10, Attack Power Up Level 10, Skill Power Up Level 10, Fighting Spirit Level 8 (Blue Mixed Attacker) Imposter- Skills: Recover Influence Level 10, Ice Freeze Level 10, Ice Freeze All Level 10, Skill Power Up Level 10, Ice Power up Level 10 (Green Speedy Support) Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu – Skills: Recover Influence level 10, Fighting Spirit Level 10, Cure Condition Level 10, Poison Level 10, Wind Jet Level 10 (Red High Speed) Aoi Asahina – Skills: Sword Stab Level 9, Summer Rain Fist Level 9, Absorb Focus Level 10, Attack Power Up Level 10, Skill Power Up Level 10
Secondary Members (Blue High Intellect) Chihiro Fujisaki (Has the same skillset as Imposter but with the electric magic alternatives). (Blue High Speed) Mahiru Koizumi (Has the same skillset as Imposter and Chihiro but with the wind magic alternatives). (Red Tank) Nekomaru Nidai – Skills: Fighting Spirit Level 10, Sacrifice Level 10, Ice Barrier Level 10, Wind Barrier Level 10, Electric barrier Level 10 (Green Tanky Support/Dungeon Crawler) Hiyoko Saionji – Skills: Fog Level 10, Drop Rate up Level 10, G Gain Up Level 10 (in hindsight, I should have put Recover Influence and Fighting Spirit in here too).
The Final Boss Once you have cleared all 100 floors and seen the credits for a second time, you will find out that there is a Monokuma on the final floor who is the real final boss. Below I am going to show the team that I used to defeat it and then go into strategies after that. I completely remade all my cards (even the ones with characters I already used), in order to focus on this boss and its weaknesses.
My Team
Peko Pekoyama
Level: 99, Influence: 753, Focus: 646, Strength: 999, Defense: 180, Intellect: 189, Fortitude: 144, Agility: 664 (I could have had this at 999 but I needed Kuzuryuu to have the agility priority), Luck: 999 Equipment: Katana Impact, Hat of Legend, Uniform of Victory, Shoes of Courage, Champion’s Talisman Skills: Sword Stab Level 10, Falcon Kick Level 10, Attack Power Up Level 10, Skill Power Up Level 10, Endurance Up Level 7
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu Level: 99, Influence: 999, Focus: 804, Strength: 360, Defense: 246, Intellect: 242, Fortitude: 672, Agility: 967, Luck: 193 Equipment: Staff Strike, Hat of Courage, Uniform of Legend, Shoes of Legend, Ultimate Hope Proof Skills: Fighting Spirit Level 10, Ultra Defense Level 10, Cure Condition Level 10, Wind Barrier Level 10, Defense Up Level 10
Chiaki Nanami Level: 99, Influence: 417, Focus: 939, Strength: 70, Defense: 71, Intellect: 999, Fortitude: 426, Agility: 883, Luck: 79 Equipment: Sickle, Hat of Overflowing Talent, Uniform of Atua, Champion’s Shoes, Ultimate Talisman Skills: Ice Freeze Level 10, Skill Power Up Level 9, Ice Power Up Level 10, Influence Up Level 7, Endurance Up Level 7
Nekomaru Nidai Level: 99, Influence: 999, Focus: 673, Strength: 168, Defense: 999, Intellect: 121, Fortitude: 285, Agility: 345, Luck: 194 Equipment: Shield Impact, Champion’s Hat, Champion’s Uniform, Shoes of Courage, Hard Worker’s Talisman Skills: Recover Influence Level 10, Fighting Spirit Level 10, Sacrifice Level 10, Cure Condition Level 10, Wind Barrier Level 10
Strategies The scariest weapon that this boss has is the ability to confuse your entire party, making them hit each other for huge damage. Because of this, I prioritised speed on Kuzuryuu, so that I could get a Cure Condition off and heal the team before they started attacking each other. (The boss also has a status called Despair it can inflict onto you, I always healed it before it became a concern so I’m not sure what it’s purpose is.) This boss also has a powerful spread wind attack so Wind Barrier is a must, I put this on both Kuzuryuu and Nidai just to be safe. Wind Barrier is a priority move so I used Nidai for it more often since he’s naturally a slower character. This boss also has Summer Rain Fist which is the spread physical move, this can be scary so I put Sacrifice on Nidai since he was very strong, defensively. Keep in mind that if your characters have high enough agility, they can completely dodge this move (my Pekoyama, Kuzuryuu and Nanami dodged it every time). The main strategy I used was to Pekoyama and Nanami use their respective most powerful move on the boss each turn, while Nidai would either set up a wind barrier, heal the team if they needed it (Pekoyama and Nanami would usually be one shot if an attack landed so this was more to keep Kuzuryuu healthy). Because Nidai was slower most of the skills I put on him were for emergencies, for example, if Kuzuryuu was defeated, I would have Nidai ready to bring him back and heal him while Kuzuryuu used the skills a lot more because he would always move first. If I had nothing for Nidai to do, I would just defend with him. Kuzuryuu was the star of this team, if any character was defeated during battle, he would bring them straight back on the first turn with Fighting Spirit. Most of the time I had him use Ultra Defense so that if the boss tried to confuse the party, he would be protected from it and able to use Cure Condition to heal them all in the next turn before the confusion even had a chance to be a problem. I had Wind Barrier on him but I rarely chose him to use it over Nidai, it was mostly just for emergencies. Having the highest agility on him was necessary to stop confusion from being an issue. The only big trouble we ran into was if Kuzuryuu used a turn healing everyone and the boss chose to confuse then, since it would then affect every member of the team. The way I’d recommend countering this problem is to give Nidai Ultra Defense too (I wish I had done this, if I had, I would have swapped it for Sacrifice since the physical attacks would hardly hit the other 3 and Wind Barrier destroyed the threat of Magic Damage.) By doing this, you would be able to ensure that at least one character had Ultra Defense up on each turn (Prioritise using it on Kuzuryuu, but if Kuzuryuu must cure or revive the team, then use it on Nidai while he does this). There would still be a risk doing this, since all the characters would have to survive a turn of confusion with Nidai’s low speed, but it’s still a lot more doable than having nothing at all.
I think that’s about all the tips I can think of for these modes, it became a lot longer than I expected in the end so I apologise for the long read. I hope this is a helpful guide to building a good team to tackle the dungeon.

Do You Have to Pay Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings? via /r/gambling
Do You Have to Pay Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings?
In the USA, when a lucky player hits a jackpot, there’s the option of receiving the winnings in cash or check. In case it’s a large sum, it’s usually paid by check. However, the IRS only obliges the casinos to report winnings that are larger than $1,200.
Of course, all winners are obliged to show a proper identification— a valid ID or passport. When the casino checks for your identification they also look at your age to make sure you are officially and legally old enough to play. As the minimum legal age for gambling varies from state to state, be sure to check it out before you decide to play.
Do I Have to Report All Winnings?
All gambling winnings received from slot machines are subject to federal taxes, and both cash and non-cash winnings (like a car or a vacation) are fully taxable. Apart from slot machines, the same applies to winnings from lottery, bingo, keno, poker or other games of chance. So, if the amount won on a slot machine is higher than $1200, the casino is required to report it. In other words, all your gambling winnings have to be reported on your tax return as "other income" on Schedule 1 (Form 1040), line 8.
Slot Machine Winnings in W-2G Form
In case it happens to you and you snag that big win (which we hope one day you will), it’s useful to know that casino or other payer must give you a W-2G Form, listing your name, address and Social Security number. So, if the winnings are reported through a W-2G Form, federal taxes will be withheld at a rate of 25%.
If, however, you didn’t provide your Social Security number (or your Tax Identification Number), in that case the withholding will be 28%. Either way, a copy of your Form W-2G should be issued, showing the amount you won alongside the amount of tax withheld. One copy needs to go to the IRS, as well.
Aside from slot winnings, Form W-2G is issued to winners of the following types of gambling activities like:
bingo (for players who win $1,200 or more),
keno (for at least $1,500 worth wins)
poker tournament players (for the $5,000 win or more).
a horse track (if the winnings are 300x your bet)
However, not all gambling winnings are subject to IRS Form W2-G. For instance, W2-G forms are not required for winnings from table games like blackjack, baccarat, and roulette, whatever the amount. You’d still have to report your winnings to the IRS, it’s just you won’t need to do it through W-2G Form.
Are My Slot Losses Deductible?
The good news is that you can deduct your slot losses (line 28 of Schedule A, Form 1040), while the bad news is gambling losses are deductible only up to the amount of your wins. In other words, you can use your losses to compensate for your winnings. So, let’s say you won $200 on one bet, but you lost $400 on one or a few others, you can only deduct the first $200 of losses. Meaning if you didn’t win anything for a year, you won’t be able to deduct any of your gambling losses.
In order to prove your losses, you need to keep good records and have suitable documents. So, whenever you lose, keep those losing tickets, cancelled checks and credit slips. Your documentation must include the amount you won or lost, a date and time, type of wager, type of your gambling activity, name of each casino/address of each casino you visited and the location of their gambling business. You may as well list the people who were with you.
Do State and Local Taxes Apply Separately?
Yes, you are required to pay your state or local taxes on your gambling winnings. In case you travel to another state, and snag some huge winning combo there, that other state would want to tax your winnings too. But don’t worry, you won't be taxed twice, as the state where you reside needs to give you a tax credit for the taxes you pay to that other state.
Keep in mind though that some states like Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Ohio don't allow gambling losses.
Online Slot Taxes
Whether you usually spin the reels of your favourite casino games in land-based casinos in the US, overseas casinos, or online casinos, all income for the citizens of the US is taxable. As a US citizen, you are required to send Form W2G for all winnings from a slot machine (not reduced by the wager) that equals to or is more than $1,200.
Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in UK
As a resident of the United Kingdom, your gambling winnings won’t be taxed. Unlike the USA mentioned above, you’ll be allowed to keep whatever it is that you have won and earned in Britain, even in case you are a poker pro. Then again, you won’t be able to deduct any losses you might collect.
It doesn’t really matter if you win £5 or £5 million playing online slots, your winnings will be tax-free as long as you reside anywhere in the UK, be that in England, Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland.
Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in Canada
If you are a recreational player who lives in Canada, we have good news for you. When it comes to gambling, you don't have to pay taxes as your winnings are totally tax free. According to laws in Canada, gambling activities don’t fall under the category of constant source of income, therefore your winnings will not be taxed.
Canadians don't even pay taxes on their lottery winnings. The only exception here are professional gamblers who make a living from betting and are, therefore, obliged to pay taxes. Keep in mind though, this is the current situation - laws in Canada change frequently, which may also include tax laws.
Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in Australia
In case you reside in Australia and like to visit casinos from time to time, you’ll be happy to find out that your winnings in Australia will not taxed and here are 3 core reasons for that:
Gambling is not treated a profession (it's treated as a hobby)
The government doesn’t see profits from gambling activities as income, but as a result of good luck
The Australian government taxes casino operators and lottery organisers instead.
Of course, taxation varies from state to state.
Taxes on Slot Machine Winnings in New Zealand
Unlike in Australia, where even professional players can claim they are recreational, in New Zealand slot machine winnings (and any other winnings from casino games) are considered taxable income, in case the player has little income from other resources.
But, apart from professional gambling, it is very unusual for winnings to be taxed in New Zealand. Most often, gambling is considered recreational and not income, so players can enjoy their gameplay as they do not have to pay taxes on their winnings.

Horoscope Today: Astrological prediction for November 19, what’s in store for Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer and other zodiac signs - more lifestyle

AlMei Week 2017 - Growth/Tradition
I'd like to apologize in advance for my pitiful attempt at sticking to the prompt. I failed pretty badly. But it's longer than the last chapter, so hopefully that makes up for it! Enjoy Day 2: Growth/Tradition. This fits more along the lines of 'growth.' Also, I’d like to give a reminder that I decided to write a short story with the prompts, meaning you’re going to want to read Day 1 if you want to have any idea what’s going on.
Note: I wanted to use Envy and Lust in this fic, but clearly those names wouldn't work in a modern AU. So, I used Google Translate (I know - I'm terrible) to find alternate names for them. Envy is Neid (German) and Lust is Luxure (French).
Note 2.0: Short-haired Envy is my aesthetic.
Read this chapter on fanfiction.net here.
Read Day 1 here.
Disclaimer: Unfortunately, Fullmetal Alchemist is not mine.

"Took you guys long enough," Mei grumbled in a joking tone as she climbed into the back of the Elric's police car. "I thought I was going to have to tell Winry that she wouldn't be by herself today after all."
"Sorry about that," Alphonse apologized, turning around from the front passenger seat to face her. "Ed overslept."
"Wow. Classic."
"In my defense," Edward retorted, briefly looking in the rear-view mirror to glance back at Mei, "it's because I was up late doing as much research as I could on Maes Hughes."
"As was I," the doctor countered, "and I'd bet I was up earlier than the both of you."
The older Amestrian muttered something under his breath but didn't comment, earning laughter from both Alphonse and Mei.
"So what's the plan?" Mei asked when their laughter had died off. "I didn't think you'd take too kindly to me coming up with something, so I figured I'd just be along for the ride."
"First things first. We'll talk to ex-colonel Mustard –"
"Ed." Alphonse interrupted his older sibling. "Be polite."
Edward rolled his eyes before continuing. "We'll talk to Mustang first. He was Hughes' closest friend and is the best person to ask if he knew what Hughes might have gotten into that would have resulted in his death."
"It's also safe to ask him if something might be going on within the FBI," Alphonse added. "He's probably one of the most trustworthy guys there."
"But it's pretty likely that he can only tell us a few things, right?" Mei asked. "The FBI isn't very lenient when it comes to releasing information."
"Exactly, which is why after that we'll talk to his gang," Edward said as he ran a yellow light, earning a frown from his younger brother, which he pointedly ignored. "Hawkeye was one of the investigators at the scene, so hopefully she'll be able to reveal some details to us. Fuery took photographs and should still have them – he's probably our best bet for info. If we can find Havoc, Breda, or Falman we might as well talk to them, too."
"And while we're there we check around for agents with purple eyes, right?" Mei smirked.
For once, the ex-agent didn't retort with a snarky remark. "Hell yes we are," he agreed, racing through a red light before turning into the parking lot. "Let's do this."
The three exited the car and made their way into the building. A tired-looking secretary at the desk glanced up at them. "Do you have an appointment with someone?"
"We're friends of Mustang," Edward replied. "Tell him it's the Elric brothers."
"Or tell him it's the Shrimp," Alphonse suggested innocently, earning him an elbow to the stomach from his brother and snickering from Mei.
The woman seemed skeptical but picked up the phone and dialed. "Mr. Mustang? There are some people who want to see you. They said they're the Elric brothers." She paused, as if listening. A frown fell on her lips. "But Mr. Mustang – Mr. Mustang –" She sighed. "Fine. I'll send them up." She placed the phone back down and sent us an odd look. "Go on ahead."
Edward immediately headed towards the stairs without a second thought, while Alphonse and Mei hung behind to thank the secretary and ask what room number Mustang's was and the floor it was on before following.
"I'm glad the two of you decided to let me tag along," Mei said as they headed up the stairs to the third floor.
"I get the feeling you'd have shown up even if we had told you not to," Alphonse chuckled.
"I suppose I can't deny that."
"But there was never a possibility we wouldn't have asked you to come," he continued. "Ed may act like a jerk, but he doesn't mean it. He just likes to do things on his own. When he found out I planned to go into the police force he nearly had a heart attack."
"He doesn't want his little brother to be in danger, right?" Mei laughed. "My half-brother was the exact same. At first he was relieved when he found out I was more into the medical side of things, but now I think he realizes what I see is worse than what he does."
Alphonse shuddered. "I'd have to agree with him. There are times when I can barely stomach the crime scenes. I don't understand how you're able to see that and then basically dissect the bodies."
The Xingese woman sighed. "If I said that you get used to it I'd be lying through my teeth. I just had to learn to 'grow up,' I suppose. I work with the dead to help the living, and that's something I have to remind myself of every day."
Alphonse shook his head. "I hope you know that the force is lucky to have someone as dedicated as yourself."
She smiled at him. "You flatter me, Alphonse."
"I aim to please."
The conversation ended as they continued to make their way up the stairs. They found Edward waiting for them at the entrance to the third floor, a mixture of embarrassment and impatience dancing in his golden eyes.
"I hope the two of you thought to ask for Mustard's room number?"
Mei smirked. "You're lucky we did, Shrimp."
"Don't call me a shrimp, you little bean sprout!" Edward seethed, glaring at her.
She returned his glare with one of her own. "You wanna try me, you little –"
"Don't call me little!"
Alphonse quickly moved between the two in an attempt to separate them. "Alright, alright. That's enough of that."
Mei realized her behavior was equivalent to that of a young child and took a deep breath to calm herself. "Sorry. I got carried away."
The blonde chuckled. "Didn't you just say you had to grow up quickly in order to be chief medical examiner?"
She turned a brilliant shade of crimson at his words and could not manage a reply to defend herself.
"Gotta keep your brother and your girlfriend separate, eh, Alphonse?"
The trio's attention was drawn to a man with dirty blonde hair and cigarette sticking out of the corner of his mouth.
"G-Girlfriend?!" Alphonse sputtered, cheeks turning a shade of red akin to that of Mei's. "N-No, she's just, she's –" He sighed.
Edward snickered at his brother's and Mei's embarrassment. "He'll deny it, Havoc, but I bet they'll be hitched in a month."
Havoc took a puff of his cigarette before smirking. "Nah. Three weeks, Ed. Three weeks."
Mei glared at both men. "If the two of you keep it up, I'll kill you twice. First in cold blood, and the second time in the morgue. Believe me when I say I've done enough autopsies to know exactly how to cover my tracks."
Edward whistled. "You've got yourself a feisty one, Al."
Mei desperately wanted to strangle the blonde officer, but managed to prevent herself from doing so. Revenge could come later.
"Anyways," Alphonse said pointedly in an attempt to change the subject, "what are you doing here, Havoc? Has Riza managed to convince Mustang to give you a break?"
Havoc winked at the boy. "Mustang doesn't even know I'm out here. I'm waiting for my girlfriend, Luxure. We met a month or so ago and hit it off. I've got my fingers crossed she's the one."
"That's what you said about that last girl," Edward retorted, rolling his eyes. "And doesn't Hawkeye still want you to go out with her friend?"
"You mean Rebecca?"
"Yeah, her."
Havoc's cheeks darkened ever so slightly. "I'm not interested in the likes of that woman."
Alphonse raised a brow at the man's denial, a smirk dancing on his lips. "Is that so, Havoc? Your face begs to differ."
Havoc shook his head. "I may have been just a tad interested a month ago, but then I met Luxure and I'm almost certain things are going to work out with her. Besides – Catalina probably has men dropping to her feet and worshipping the ground she walks on. Anyways, Luxure and I hung out pretty much all of last night and a few nights before, but I wanted to do something a little more romantic with her. We'll be –"
"Jean?"
A rich and almost sultry feminine voice interrupted their conversation. All heads turned to see an admittedly gorgeous woman with long dark hair and a well-endowed chest walking towards them.
Mei suddenly found herself rather self-conscious.
"Luxure!" Havoc grinned like a lovestruck teenager as he dropped the cigarette and ground it beneath his heel. "Glad you were able to make it."
She smiled. "I wouldn't have missed it for the world, you know. It's nice to get out of the office and have a break once in a while." She glanced at the group. "Would you like to introduce me to your friends, Jean?"
Havoc nodded hastily. "Right." He gestured to each person in turn. "That's Ed, that's Al, and..." He hesitated when he got to Mei. "Miss, I'm afraid I don't know your name."
The Xingese doctor shook her head, though a small smile was dancing on her lips. "Doctor Mei Chang. I'm the chief medical examiner for this jurisdiction."
Luxure raised a brow at her words, her maroon eyes gleaming. "Is that so? I've heard many things about your office, Doctor Chang – most of which are good, of course. It's nice to finally meet you."
"I'm rather surprised the FBI hasn't tarnished my reputation," Mei replied, her eyes twinkling. "I appreciate your kind words, Miss Luxure."
The woman answered with a nod before returning her attention to her boyfriend. "Ready to go, Jean? I made reservations at a classy restaurant because it's been so long since we were last able to go out for something nice together."
"Isn't it a bit early for lunch?" Edward asked.
"It's more of a brunch," Havoc replied. "And Luxure, that sounds great." He returned his attention to the trio. "I'll see you guys later! By the way – Mustang's in his office, so you aren't going to have to wander the building searching for him."
"Thank you, Havoc," Alphonse said, smiling at the man.
Havoc offered them a mock-salute before extending his arm to Luxure, who graciously accepted. Mei watched them walk away, something nagging her in the back of her mind. Her eyes widened as it clicked.
"Yoki said the agent had eyes that looked almost purple, right?"
Alphonse nodded. "Yes. Why?"
"That woman's eyes were maroon. Kind of pink," she replied. "They could easily be mistaken for purple in the darkness."
Alphonse frowned, and Mei could almost see the gears turning in his head. "You think she was the agent Yoki let into the building?"
"I don't know what to think," the doctor sighed. "There's no proof, first off. And she very well could have some sort of alibi. Not to mention Yoki could be mistaken about the so-called intruder's eye color."
"Another thing you need to keep in mind," Edward added, his arms crossed over his chest, "is that Yoki wasn't able to determine the gender of the agent he let in. Even in the darkness I think it's pretty obvious that Luxure is a woman."
Mei felt her cheeks get hot as yet another hole in her suspicions was pointed out. "Right. I forgot about that."
"But I don't trust her," the blonde continued. "Something about her entire persona just kind of seems off. Maybe she was driving the getaway van. I feel like she was somehow involved."
Alphonse rolled his eyes. "I'm tempted to agree, but I'm getting the vibe that I need to be the rational person here and point out that a gut feeling is not enough to convict someone. Not to mention Havoc said she'd been with him all night for the last few nights. That's a possible alibi right there."
His older brother waved his hand dismissively. "I know, I know. But it does mean I'm not going to try to dig up some dirt on her."
Mei couldn't help but grin. "Agreed."
"Let's move on now," Alphonse said, changing the subject. "Havoc said that Mustang's in his office, but if we spend too much time out here I bet we'll find out that he's left to go do something."
Edward snorted. "It's too early for him to go anywhere. You know Hawkeye would never let him."
They made their way down the hall to Mustang's room at the very end. After knocking on the door and not receiving an answer, Edward simply chose to barge in.
"Mustang! Why weren't you –" He stopped abruptly upon seeing a certain blonde officer pointing a gun at a very tearful dark-haired man.
Alphonse laughed. "Is this how you have you make him do his paperwork, Riza?"
"I'm afraid so," the lieutenant replied calmly, her aim not wavering. "But whatever works is fine with me."
Mei was unable to keep the look of horror off her face. "Do you actually intend on shooting him if he doesn't get it done?!"
"Not in the head," was the woman's only reply.
"I take it you've come on business, right?" Mustang said as he signed the last sheet of paper in front of him. "Here, Lieutenant – I've finished."
Hawkeye removed the stack of papers from in front of him and briefly skimmed through it before nodding and putting her gun away. "Thank you, sir. I'll turn these in while you talk with your guests." She offered them a warm smile before leaving.
Mustang sighed as he leaned back in his chair. "At least that's finally done." He stared up at the small group. "You can sit down, you know."
"If you didn't choose to ignore your work the lieutenant wouldn't have to do that," Alphonse said as he sat. "And I'm sure she'd prefer it if she was able to get her own work done instead of having to babysit you all day."
The dark-haired man waved his hand dismissively. "I've heard that a thousand times, Alphonse."
"He just likes having Hawkeye's attention on him," Edward snickered. "Am I right, Colonel?"
Mustang pointedly ignored the older Elric's question. "I'm not a colonel anymore, Edward." He stared at them. "But that's beside the point. Why did you come here?"
"Information," Mei replied, speaking to the man for the first time. "You were a close friend of Maes Hughes, correct? Tell us everything you know about the circumstances surrounding his death."
Mustang studied the Xingese girl. "You're the chief medical examiner, aren't you? Mei Chang?"
"That's me."
"Why do you need information about Hughes?"
"His autopsy report was stolen," she replied, not missing a beat, "and we have reason to believe it was taken by someone who works in or with the FBI."
"Are you implying the serial killer we're all trying to hunt down works for the government?"
"Yes and no. It's a possibility that we can't discount, but there's also a chance his death was caused by someone who copied the killer in order to cover their tracks. But it seems that whoever killed him made some sort of mistake that was included in the autopsy report. They didn't want anyone to know, so they stole it."
Mustang stroked his chin in thought. "Must have been pretty bad." He sighed. "I honestly don't know much about Hughes' death. I was never allowed near the scene supposedly because I was such a close friend of his." He frowned. "Maybe it was because whoever killed him knew I'd be able to spot anything unusual. All I know is that he was shot in his chest and then stabbed six times."
Mei sighed. That was nothing new. "Anything else?"
"He was killed in the phone booth off of Seventh Street, and a photo of his family was found with his body."
She made a mental note of that.
"You'd be better off talking to the lieutenant," Mustang replied. "She was allowed to see the crime scene. For a while she was also one of the agents investigating it, but for some reason she was taken off the case."
"Probably because she works under you," Edward muttered. "They want as little information as possible to reach your ears."
"Exactly. She's told me everything she can about his death. I'm almost positive she knows more, however. I bet she's gone down to Fuery's office. He's on the second floor, room 2231."
"How convenient," Edward said, standing up. "We were hoping Fuery had copies of photos from the crime scene."
Mustang snorted. "I'd bet money he does. He makes about thirty copies of everything because he's so paranoid something could get lost or destroyed."
Mei laughed. "Well, that certainly works in our favor."
xXxXxXx
The trio ran into Hawkeye as they were going down the stairs.
"Lieutenant," Alphonse said, "is it okay if we ask you some questions about Maes Hughes' murder?"
The blonde woman nodded. "Certainly." She hesitated, looking around. "But not here. Follow me."
She turned on her heel and headed back down the stairs, the three of them right behind her. She led them to a small, empty room on the second floor.
"There aren't any cameras in here," she said simply upon seeing the looks of confusion on their faces. "What is it you need to know?"
"Anything you can tell us," Mei replied. "Events surrounding his death, what the crime scene looked like, any suspects you might have."
Riza sighed. "I'll tell you as much as I can. Our office has been under intense watch lately because we 'kept sticking our noses where it didn't belong.'"
"I have a feeling it was mostly Mustang," Alphonse laughed half-heartedly.
"Yes," Riza admitted. "He was probably very specific in how he answered the questions you had for him, correct? His room's been wire-tapped all over and we're certain there are hidden cameras as well."
"Well, that explains why he was so abrupt," Edward muttered. "I knew that there was no way he could have possibly been so clueless about Hughes' death."
"And he undoubtedly realized you'd figure that out, which is why he wanted you to come to me," she explained. "But I'm also under watch."
"Just tell us as much as you can, Lieutenant," Alphonse instructed. "Really, anything is helpful."
Riza hesitated, then nodded. "His cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest. There were six stab wounds, all postmortem from what I understood. The phone in the booth was on the receiver, implying someone besides Hughes had to have put it there. Unfortunately, no fingerprints were recovered from the phone. According to his secretary, he told her that the government was in danger before he left the building and presumably headed to Seventh Street. This suggests he was not in the wrong place at the wrong time, but was in fact a target." She hesitated a second time. "That is all I am at liberty to disclose right now. I recommend talking to Kain Fuery and seeing if he has photographs from the scene. Tell him Hawkeye wants you to be given all of them."
"Roger that," Alphonse said, saluting her. "Thank you, Lieutenant."
"You're welcome," she replied, smiling warmly at them. "And if you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you inform me of anything new you might uncover."
"Of course."
The blonde woman glanced at the watch on her wrist. "I have to return to my office now. Do you know where Fuery's room is?"
"Yes ma'am," Mei said. "Mustang told us."
"Alright. I suggest waiting a few minutes before you go. It's better if we don't leave at the same time."
"Understandable," Mei conceded. "Thank you again."
Hawkeye nodded one last time before exiting the room.
"So, what do you two think?" Edward asked, his arms crossed over his chest. "It's obvious there's something strange going on here, and the government's completely wrapped up in it."
"Agreed," Mei said. She sighed. "I was really hoping that getting another copy of the autopsy report wouldn't be so complicated. But it's the FBI I'm working with. I should have expected it, I suppose."
Edward snorted. "Oh yeah. There's a reason I quit working for them, you know."
"I wonder," Alphonse mused, "if Hughes knew what was going on with the government and he was killed so he couldn't tell anyone about it."
"I get the feeling that's exactly what happened," Mei said. "But if I'm honest with you – I really couldn't care less what's going on in the government. Let them figure that out. All I want to do is catch the serial murderer."
"And if he works for the government?" Edward retorted.
"Well, then so be it. If the killer is the source of corruption and we catch them – great! Two birds with one stone. But if they aren't, I don't intend on getting myself mixed up in any internal affairs."
"Fair enough," Alphonse chuckled. "I have to agree with you on that." He checked the time on his watch. "It's been around five minutes. Let's head to Fuery's office now."
Being as casual as possible, the three left the empty room and headed down the hall where Kain Fuery's door was already wide open.
"Edward," the dark-haired man said in surprise as the trio walked in. "Alphonse. What are you doing here?" His gaze fell to Mei. "And who have you brought with you?"
"My name's Mei Chang." The Xingese woman answered quickly before Edward could introduce her as 'the bean sprout' or something to that effect. "I'm chief medical examiner for the Xing jurisdiction."
Fuery's eyes widened. "Oh, I remember you! You were at Maria Ross' homicide. I was the photographer there." He shook his head. "That really was s shame. She was such a nice lady. Good officer, too."
Mei nodded, her eyes heavy. "Yes. Her death was one of the worst I've seen in my career."
The was a pause before Fuery continued. "I'm sure you guys didn't come to visit me for fun. Is there something you need?"
"Hawkeye instructed us to have you give us all the photographs from Hughes' crime scene," Alphonse said.
Fuery bit his lip. "I'm not allowed to –"
"Surely you aren't going to disobey an order from your commanding officer," Edward interrupted, a smirk dancing on his lips. "Am I right?"
Fuery sighed, shaking his head as if he knew he was going to regret this. "Fine. Give me a minute to find them." He knelt down behind his desk and started digging through the bottom file drawer. "I'll tell you in advance that they aren't the best photographs. They're photocopies I made. But they should still be adequate for whatever you need them for."
"The fact that you're giving them to us is honestly more than we expected," Mei replied. "As long as we can see what's going on, they should be fine."
A moment later Fuery stood up, holding a stack of photographs. "Here you go," he said, handing them to Alphonse.
"Before we go," Edward said, staring at the dark-haired man, "is there anything in particular that stood out to you at the crime scene?"
Fuery frowned. "Hmm... Well, a fingerprint was found on the side of the phone booth. I took several pictures of it, so you should have a few of those."
Mei's eyes widened. "That was why the autopsy report was stolen from my office. The killer left a fingerprint and didn't want anyone else knowing about it." She returned her attention to the man in front of her. "I'm guessing very few people know that you always make extra copies of photographs from crime scenes, correct?"
"Y-Yes. Why?"
"I'd bet money that any pictures handed over to the person in charge of Hughes' investigation coincidentally 'lost' the photos of the crime scene," she continued. "And that the autopsy report kept by the government is probably also 'lost.'"
Fuery's jaw dropped. "The phone booth."
"What about it?" Mei asked.
"It was destroyed accidentally a few days ago. A car ran off the road or something."
Edward snorted. "Accidentally my a–"
"Language," Alphonse interrupted. "But I have to agree. That's too convenient of a coincidence for the killer."
Mei cursed under her breath. "Now we can't go to the scene and spray it with luminol. I was hoping we'd be able to find the fingerprint again." She laughed bitterly. "Fuery, we'll be relying completely on your photographs. I hope they're good ones."
"Always," the man promised. He paused. "Before you go..." He reached into the top drawer of his desk and removed a thin manila folder. "You might want to keep this. I think there's... One or two photos in there with better quality than the ones I've already given you."
The trio was not blind to the meaningful look in Fuery's eyes.
"Thank you," Mei said, accepting the folder. "It's very kind of you."
"Just doing my job," he replied with an awkward laugh. "I'm afraid that's all I have."
"Trust me when I say it's more than enough." The Xingese doctor beamed as she handed the folder to Alphonse. "You may be helping save countless lives."
After a few minutes the three left Fuery to continue whatever he'd been doing before they'd arrived. Upon reaching an empty hall, Alphonse quickly flipped open the folder to reveal five or six crisp photographs, all from Hughes' crime scene.
Most were of the man's body, slumped up against something inside the phone booth, all taken from various angles. Two others, however, were nearly perfect pictures of a bloody fingerprint on the ground.
Mei's eyes widened. "This is amazing. We can run this through the system to see if we get a hit – well, in a few days, at least."
"What I want to know is why there was such a clean print on the ground," Edward muttered. "Unusual place to find something like that, isn't it? And the fact that it's only the one print annoys me."
"The most obvious explanation is that the killer fell over," Mei said simply, "but I agree – you'd think there would be more than one."
"But if you look closely you can see that blood near the print is smeared," Alphonse pointed out. "So if the killer did fall, they likely moved their hand when they tried to stand back up. That would ruin any other possibility of a print. I personally we're lucky that one was left behind."
"We need to speak to whoever's in charge of Hughes' case," Mei said as the blonde tucked the pictures away into the folder. "There's a slim chance that they haven't run the print in the system yet. If they're a competent officer, I'm sure they did and nothing showed up, but if they haven't –" The Xingese doctor stopped abruptly, realizing she was rambling. "We just really need to speak to whoever had control over Hughes' case."
"Hughes? As in, Maes Hughes?"
The trio's attention was drawn to a rather androgynous man with short hair that seemed to be a very dark green. His eyes were also green – though it was shade much brighter than his hair.
"Yes," Edward said quickly. "Maes Hughes. His case. We're looking for whoever was in charge of his case."
The man chuckled, his eyes dancing with malice. "You're in luck. That would be me. Is there something you need?"
Something about this officer seemed off to Mei. She had no idea what it was nor did she have a valid reason as to what made her suspicious of him, but her gut was telling her not to trust this guy, and more often than not her instinct than right. The looks in both Alphonse's and Edward's eyes told her that they were picking up similar vibes from the man.
Something clicked, and she realized what seemed odd about the man's appearance.
Contacts. He was wearing contacts.
"We just have a few questions about the circumstances surrounding Hughes' death, Officer...?" Alphonse trailed off as he realized he didn't know his name.
"Neid," the man replied. "What would you like to know?"
"We're interested in the fingerprint that was found at the scene of the crime," Mei explained. "Was there a hit when you ran it in the system?"
Neid smirked. "If there had been, girlie, I would have reported it to my superiors."
Mei resisted the urge to slap this man. "I assumed that was the case. Thank you, sir."
"Glad I was able to help." At that, he left the trio to themselves.
"I don't like him," Edward growled.
Alphonse nodded in agreement. "He seemed... Full of himself."
Mei snorted. "I'm glad to know we're all getting that impression from him. I was worried it was just me." She decided not to mention her suspicion that the man was wearing contacts. There was always the possibility that she was wrong, after all.
"I didn't like how rude he was to you," the younger Elric muttered. "Calling you 'girlie' like that. I bet you were in school twice as long as he was to get where you are today."
The Xingese woman was secretly flattered by his words, but her expression didn't show even the slightest hint of it. "He was rude to all of us. I get the feeling that by investigating this case we'll be biting off more than we can chew."
"I love a challenge," Edward smirked. "But can you handle it, Doctor Chang?"
Mei laughed aloud. "Just try me, Elric." Her pager suddenly rang, startling her. She sighed upon reading it. "Great. I have to leave, I'm afraid – someone's been mauled."
Alphonse looked alarmed. "By what?"
She rolled her eyes. "A lion, obviously. I don't know." Then she chuckled. "It was probably a dog. But they can't be too careful – there are some weapons out there that can really tear a human up. Which is why I need to go to the scene." She started to walk away, then paused. "It'd be very helpful, actually, if one or both of you could come by my office tomorrow with the photographs so we can examine them."
"Will do," Edward said, mock-saluting the girl. "Have fun dissecting people until then."
Alphonse rolled his eyes. "Don't worry, Mei – I won't let Ed tag along."
"Hey!"
Mei shook her head as she walked away, a smile dancing on her lips.

SHARE WITH ME the thoughts and predictions on gameplay improvements...... I am Interested
ALL RIGHT SO. This is… really long, so, cutting it.
Things we know for sure about remake changes based on released info:
There are three difficulty settings
They’re adding a feature (I think only in easy mode?) where if you knock out enemies with Strike you can insta-kill them and get the XP and cash reward without fighting them
They’re willing to mess with order of events enough to change available party composition for at least one boss fight (there’s a Mist Spider screenshot with Marco in the party)
Enemy turn panels now have icons indicating what enemy they are, as well as where they are on the grid(THANK GOD)
Sound/music/voice volume sliders
Minimap
Possibly more if I spoke a word of Japanese and didn’t have to rely on incomplete translations
Things I’m pretty sure about, based on stuff that’s been released:
Tumblr media
This was screenshotted from a status menu: icons for all the status effects, plus what looks like fire/ice/lightning. My bet is these are resistances, which implies that enemy attacks are going to have elemental attributes now- before, the game just treated it as magic damage or physical damage.
Tumblr media
I couldn’t tell during the stream, but it looks like they’ve effectively switched the screens in the combat interface. The turn order now appears on the bottom screen, which hopefully means that when you’re changing turns/using Turn Break you can select them with the stylus.
Tumblr media
The “condition” button here might just be the same old “Help”/skill description button we’re used to, but I’m hoping it means we can get a list of buff/debuff/status information for enemies and allies.
Stuff I think is likely:
The reason Rosch is always underleveled is because for some ungodly reason people you can’t add to your party get no XP. This is a really easy fix which would markedly increase Rosch, Gafka, and Eruca’s usefulness at various points.
Strike- that is, the ability to knock out enemies on the field- had a really wonky hitbox in the original, making it so you’d often juggle enemies four or five times before they got knocked out. I’d bet that one way or another, that’s not going to happen as much, though I suspect there will be different tweaks at different difficulties.
Giving enemy attacks elements and adding elemental defense is going to require a massive equipment rework and rebalance. I’m actually all for this- RH’s equipment balance is all over the place, and by about midgame a lot of equipment seems to be distributed completely at random, resulting in a lot of stuff being useless. Aht’s equipment is particularly bad: upgrades for both her weapons and armor (at least, ones that give her the magic and defense boosts she needs, rather than relatively useless ATK and MDEF) are thin on the ground until SH Ch. 6, when you get access to the ridiculously powerful Promised Knife and like five better pieces of armor shortly after each other. You can go to a lot of work grabbing a rare, unique steal from a boss and then find it’s worse in every way than the thing you picked up in a treasure chest five minutes ago (*glares at bear*). You can easily get Stocke’s second-best armor in SH Ch. 4, resulting in him taking a fraction of the damage everyone else takes for the entire rest of SH, and the best armor is only available as a rare drop from a random enemy in the final dungeon, so you’re probably going to keep the other one on him for the entire rest of the game. I think odds are excellent they’re going to straighten the mess out, in part by putting elemental and status resistances on more equipment.
Building off that last bit, I think we’re probably going to see a huge jump in enemies using debuffs and status effects, and the success rates of both in general. In the original, you could go through the whole game and never see a successful Fear, Curse, or Petrify. Debuffs had such a low success rate that you could often ignore them entirely from the enemy side, and you never wanted to use them on your side because that was a turn you could be having Eruca cast G-Frost again instead of doing a crap-damage phys hit that might make her next spell do more damage. I suspect we’ll see enemies weak to more status ailments than just poison and sleep, and maybe some skill set changes so there are ways to inflict the other ailments other than items.
I will not be surprised if enemies now have elemental resistances as well as weaknesses, somewhat reducing the efficacy of my favorite tactic, Will o’ Wisp spam.
More enemy manipulation of the grid. I expect we’ll see more formation attacks and effects, and probably either the ability for enemies to move and act in the same turn or a bunch of abilities that move the user on the grid when they’re used.
Speed buffs and debuffs get a boost, possibly directly rewriting the turn order the way enemy summons do. They’re essentially a waste of a turn in the original- you might get a single bonus turn for your efforts before the fight ends, but the odds of getting two before everything’s dead (which would actually make it worth it) are pretty much nil.
My personal wish list:
Ability to scroll through lists quickly with the left/right buttons. The lack of this is a grade-A pain in the ass in the original, especially when trying to select skills or use items.
Better scene skip function. The current one a) is never indicated anywhere in the game, b) will only skip one scene at a time, and some nodes have three or four EVERY TIME you visit them, and c) can occasionally cause you to miss scenes, because changes to events are registered as part of an old scene instead of a separate one. So, e.g., you can accidentally permanently miss the scene where Stocke scares the crap out of Hedge because you tried to skip the conversation with Garland before it. (I’d probably do a button you push that toggles skipping all scenes you’ve already watched but doesn’t affect new ones.)
Reevaluation of some skill sets. All the ladies have physical skills which you will probably never use because they don’t have the stats to make them worthwhile. Seriously, there is no point when you ever want Raynie to use Rush.
Reevaluation of some damage numbers. There are two separate bosses you can kill in two turns before they can even move by pushing them into a Volt Star Trap, and a third you can kill in four turns if you lead with Dancing Death/Heat Blade on the cannons in front of it, then push it into a Volt Star Trap. You can beat every one of Gafka’s skill boss fights in one round by popping Sky Hammer. Eruca gets G-Frost at level 32 and it’s her highest single-target damage all game.
Shuffling some nodes around, whether by promoting random events to nodes or strategically adding additional choices with bad ends. There are some points in the game where it’s annoyingly difficult to reach things because if you jump back in time, you have to go through several dungeons and/or boss fights to get back to where you were and it’s a pain.
Reevaluation of when you get some skills. Aht only picks up Frost Star Trap at the bottom of the Imperial Ruins… and there are no enemies after that that are weak to ice and can be moved, rendering it effectively pointless. On the flip side, Burst Light murders absolutely everything and negates all need for strategy while Eruca is in the party once you get it, and the pact for that is available before you even meet Master Vainqueur.
Final dungeon rework, so you get Eruca back halfway through instead of at the end. Seriously, it’s stupid to have one of your party members gone for the entire last three dungeons, and you really don’t need an extended “save the princess” thing to want to get on with the plot at that point. If anything, plot tension would be heightened by getting her back and then continuing along with her.
Improve Raynie’s bonus skills. The only remotely good one is Sleep Break, and even that’s not exactly something you spam in every fight. Resist Boost in particular is pretty much a waste of a skill.
Improve Raynie’s MP. She’s a black mage, why does she have worse MP than Marco?
Eruca’s Mana Bursts get changed from physical damage to non-elemental magic damage to use her stats better. Preferably Aht’s Imperion too.
More variety in Mana Burst effects. Most of them are just “heavy damage to one/all targets,” so there’s often not a lot of reason to use them over anything else (especially when Turn Break is a unique effect). The only interesting ones are Marco’s (multiple buffs, target all), Aht’s Lucky Breath (fill someone else’s MB), and Rosch’s Seyfried (launch everything into the air).
Eruca gets Frost. I think Mana Shot is supposed to do the same damage as a basic elemental spell, but in practice it doesn’t seem to, and it can’t hit weaknesses. And there’s a pretty good chance that if you’ve been skipping monsters, she might not have G-Frost yet when you get her, so her DPS is kind of crap.
Better armor for Gafka. For a character who’s clearly supposed to be tough and tanky, his armor sucks, especially early on- I usually end up giving him defense accessories just so he doesn’t die the first time some goblin mages sneeze in his general direction.
For that matter, Aht and Eruca also have armor problems- it’s often best to use armor that’s allegedly “worse” because their armor upgrades prioritize MDEF over DEF, but they have naturally high MDEF and terrible DEF.
In-game display of enemy steals (and possibly item drops). I’m not asking for a full-scale Etrian Odyssey bestiary here, but it’d be nice to not have to keep a running list of which enemies I’ve robbed just in case one of them has good loot.
One-on-one boss fights rebalanced, so there’s more to the strategy than “change turns and heal until you’ve got a bunch of turns in a row, then nuke them, taking off all their health in one round.”
Press B to walk/Press B to run toggle. Someone who can read Japanese might be able to tell me if this was in the config menu in the stream, but it’d be really nice to be able to turn off auto-run in the sewers.
A decent magic bonus on Historica. It’s kind of ridiculous that there’s an Endgame Sword of Plot Importance restricted to the main character with a special superboss fight to upgrade it… and the magic bonus is less than the Sorcery Epee you bought from a shop thirty levels ago. Like, no, screw that, I’m not taking a 27-point hit to Stocke’s magic stat when he doesn’t have any physical skills that even begin to compete with G-Fire/Heat Blade/Will o’ Wisp for DPS.

ACL Rehab is our Jam at Evolutio
So here it is, the second addition of my writing capabilities which I’d associate to Rambo First Blood: Part II in which John Rambo gets let out of jail to go fight in Vietnam, but really nothing like that. The reason Part II has taken some time is because I had to shake off some wounds left by Peta G’s reply to my initial blog. If you haven’t read it yet I wouldn’t worry, there are plenty of other more important things to do like scrolling the gram, updating the spotify playlist or even deciding what fascinator to wear to the Spring Carnival this year… but finish this first yeah. In this piece I want chat ACL rehab and the reason I’ve been compelled to write this now. Much like Rambo in First Blood, you know where he finds himself running through the jungle to get away from the Sheriff and all the guys chasing him; I feel like this is where ACL rehab currently is. If you’ve read the newspaper lately or been listening to the wireless as you sip your morning cuppa you’d know ACL injuries are now an epidemic – pretty certain they’re in the same category as the global warming and flat earth theories.  And if you have been one of the (un)lucky statistics to suffer a rupture, you would understand with this comes so many options… surgery or no-surgery, 12-months or 6-months, hamstring, patellar or kangaroo tendons? So many decisions huh, it’s like all you want to do is go rogue and run into a jungle because no one understands where your head is at – good choice John Rambo. The good news is they’re our jam! Not like the Black & Gold fruit chutney mix, it’s the kind Nonna makes when the garden blooms and she keeps handing you bags of countless fruit when you visit, and she jams it - the good stuff.
In the last year alone I have seen at least 15 knees come through the clinic and sporting clubs I have been involved with – so it’s happening regularly. For all of those involved this is when the fun starts and it’s a hell of a ride, not like the quick giant drop at Dreamworld kinda ride. It’s more like the slow slog of the scenic railway at Luna Park ride.  It involves extensive gym sessions retraining the muscles to do their job again, teeth clenching soft tissue work - massage, dry needling, graston, and the joy of finally being able to run again. It also involves Trusting The Process (refer to my initial blog), but ask most people and I’ll bet they’ll tell you it was great hanging out with me for that amount of time *insert wink emoji here*. As a result of the knee injuries we’ve seen in the clinic, we’ve been able to develop some amazing rehab treatment plans and the ability to assist individuals with making the tough decisions; like whether or not surgery is the right option for them, or when they can finally return to sport, work, or daily duties. Some of this rehab includes making sure we test all the main muscle groups associated with ACL injuries by using a funky little device called a hand dynamometer, crazy word I know, I’m still learning how to pronounce it myself [dy-no-mo-meter]. But ask some of the crew in the clinic and they’ll tell you about my love for it, sort of like Bayden’s affection for barefoot runners – but not in a weird FHL / big toe love set-up.
What it does is limit the guesswork and spit out some actual numbers for us to work on together, and who doesn’t love numbers and excel spreadsheets, am I right?! We’ve also decided to put together some knee packages to take the guesswork out of how many sessions individuals will think they need and costing etc. This helps to cater to whatever level or option you choose or we decide together might be best. And just like the end of any good movie some feel good moments – YES athletes and individuals  do return to their sports with surgery and without. NO it’s not always a smooth return, but we’ll give it a hell of a crack and I’ll even let you take a hanger (footy reference for an amazing mark of the ball) on my back on return to your first game back. So if you, or someone you know has some knee issues or decided to join the cool crew rupturing cruciate ligaments lately - yep I tore my PCL earlier this year. Then tell them to give us a call or shoot an email and I’d be happy to talk all things Rambo First Blood, First Blood Part II, Rambo III, Rambo, and Rambo Last Blood… ------------ If you’re after any more information, rehab ideas or suggestions check out these resources: – Mick Hughes / Tim Rowland / Brooke Patterson / Evolutio ACL Train Heroic program
This is Phill. He’s our smartest, most talented physio. Sometimes we wonder why we hired him.. Then we realised that we read a book once that said you should hire people who are smarter than you. So we did. He is currently working as the Womens AFL Physio for the Western Bulldogs in a rehab capacity and is a nice guy. Come and meet him. You can book in with him here.

Know Basics of Matka – A Fast Card Playing Game in New Format
Certainly, every single bet is very precious as it will give you notions of having 1/999 rupees. That means, at a time, you will earn over 900 times if you prove your lucky numbers effective to resemble the numbers flashing on your android home screen. Bring your good luck to your hands to pick up the best jackpot prize in a twinkling of an eye. Indian Matka contributes over 100 core rupees to fertilize and promote the gambling industry.
Fix Myth – Try for Becoming Unbeaten
The myth is the essence of any type of conventional or ultra-modern gambling. People don’t accept this game easily due to the myth, social obligation, and legal compulsions. When you play KapilMatka, you have clear objectives without doubt, misconception, and dogmas. In 1960 or earlier, the gambling was a local Satta game. Players were illiterate, brute and rowdy. They were not found playing cards in public places. Police arrested gamblers. However, Boss Matka in a new digitized format seems to earn a lot of positive credits and good support from people. Play the game on your cell phone or computer when you have none to talk to you.  Download the free Matka gambling software for demo’s offline. You will understand many technical terms, calculations, and strategies which will be helpful to you to become more familiar with Satta world.
How to Play Matka – Basic Information
Well, at home, concentrate on math and numerical calculations. Definitely, it is card-playing gambling. However, gamers need to be cunning, innovative and intelligent with dynamic logistic aptitude. For instance, through addition and subtraction, calculate the numbers to form the whole series. From 0-9 digits, choose any 3 numbers and do addition. Simple math is that 4+5+9=18. The first set will look like this format – 4, 5, 9*8. You have to remove 1 from 18 and take the last one. In this way, the same theory is that out of 2+2+6, add these digits. It will be 10. So, the final series should be 4, 5, 9*8X2, 2, 6*0. It is your self-created lucky number which will match the numbers declared by the agent. So, gamblers require charts to have the numbers finally.  This website updates daily SattaMatka charts for people. Even professional bookies use these sample charts to write their handicaps.
Have Instant Updates
Kapilmatka.mobi renews information live. If the Satta agents declare any change in the last moment, this site will give updates live. So, professional and new amateur Satta gamers like to be members to visit this gambling website to have data, and of course daily results.
Matka Boss market is open at different times. People who are fans to play the Matka, it is the site for taking instant guidance and remarkable competitive sample numbers. Perception is the essence of the MatkaSatta game.  Even a world-class elegant mathematician fails to do the accurate calculation for generating the superb lucky draw series for optimizing the scope of snatching jackpot. Make approach with the expectation to hunt for thrilling victory in the Matka world. It will refresh your financial condition.

Eastern Edge: Over- and Under-Performing Fantasy Players
It’s time to sit down and take a good long look at your fantasy hockey team this week.  As Michael Clifford pointed out in last night’s ramblings there will be a lot of talk about buy/sell players and that is exactly what I’m going to load up on this week in the East.
Obviously you’re not going to trade Auston Matthews in a one for one trade in a one-year league unless you’re getting McDavid in return.  However if you could squeeze his impressive start for Tyson Barrie and Sebastian Aho– without knowing very much else about your league settings, I’d say you’ve upgraded your team. Granted maybe you’ll need to throw in a lower pairing defender but you catch my drift. I hate saying you’ll lose the trade if you’re giving up the best player, because if you’re already at the bottom of the pack in your league, you need to get moving if you hope to make the playoffs.
With that being said, hopefully you’ll remember some nice plots I made in the middle of draft season regarding expected point projections from Expert forecasters and their ADPs.  Using the same data I wanted to take a look at who is over/under performing point projections by a significant margin.  Teasing out these players in the East here are the two graphs I’ll be referencing to give you an idea on how significant the difference is between Expert minus Actual on a per game basis.
Ok let’s get cracking because there are plenty of players who are missing the mark this year.
Victor Hedman – Injury aside Hedman has been up to snuff compared to expert predictions and I have personally felt the burn so far.  He’s currently on a 48-point pace of which four points can be attributed to goals, a stat that is nice for a blueliner but certainly not where they generate the majority of their points.   The concern is that he only has 6 assists through 17 games, and 3 assists in the first quarter (13gp)! Last year he has 13 assists in the first quarter alone (20 gp).  The good news is that Hedman is shooting at roughly the same pace, which should see him break the 200 SOG plateau.  Another stat leaving poolies wondering is the lack of PPP production, again it’s a mystery.  One possible explanation for the volume reduction is the roughly four minutes (21min vs 24ish) per game less that Hedman is playing, numbers he hasn’t see in many years.  Digging deeper TB as a whole has performed much lower than expected while Hedman has been on the ice, shooting only 6.62% versus around mid 8 to low 9%.  His PDO indicates a being unlucky as well – 964.  Bottom line is this is a guy who has all the tell-tale signs of a buy low.
Shayne Gostisbehere – I’d like to personally thank Beric for drafting GhostBear a round before I would have selected him.  He has helped ensure that my early picks spent on the blueline have been productive, unlike Ghost.  First the good news – he’s shooting at basically the same clip that he did last year a pace of 224 SOG. He has a slightly depressed shooting percentage, given his skill level we can expect it to increase a little but that’s the funny thing about blueliners, the variance between year to year can be a reason that including goal predictions can be fickle (again I reference this article).  So what does it mean – currently Gostisbehere has three goals and a slight increase in S% could find his goals around 4 in total.  Obviously that is not what the problem is; instead we point to the PP assists and assists in general and for that we can see that the team in Philly isn’t shooting like they were last year. Collectively they are shooting much like T.B. at 5.91% with Ghost on the ice instead of the 8.73 last year.  So putting it all together – actually quick shout out to the guy sitting behind the color analysts in the lounge at the Panthers game in the middle of the second intermission (11/26) – Beauty.  Ok back to putting it all together given the SOG volume, it’s likely that Ghost like Hedman has some more to give.  The concern being of course that Philly as a whole is not half the team that Tampa in terms of quality.   I’d move cautiously here but if I could swing a Pionk+ for Ghost, I think that’s a bet that would fall in your favor.
Jordan Eberle – The experts had him landing around 60 points in total and he’s on pace for only 39 points so far.  What’s the problem? He’s shooting 12.8% normal enough, he’s stacking his PP minutes compared to previous years – so no issues there, the team is shooting 8.5%  – no real issues there, and then we land on IPP and PDO.  It appears that Eberle is not getting in on the scoring, he’s missing almost 20% of his normal 68-72% IPP.  This should have a market correction soon.  So what do you do with Eberle? He’s probably on the waiver wire but I think with some confidence you should be able to trade a 60-point guy and maybe a D or G and get a pretty nice winger, jump back and replace your skater with Eberle.   I’ll probably get crushed by others for this advice but the only thing that is stopping Eberle from picking up those points is an overall goal drop from the Islanders.  Right now the Islanders have scored 70 goals and have been expected to score 61 based on the irreplaceable Manny over at Corsica.
Shea Weber– Weber returns to Montreal tonight, double check if he is available in shallower leagues.
Kevin Shattenkirk – Trade him now – send an offer to every team in your league and recoup anything for him.  He’s on pace for 27 points, stream hot blueliners instead of waiting for this guy to get going.  He’s seeing only 18 minutes a night. While he’s never been a SOG machine – 156 SOG is his season pace if that sort of thing works for you.  He’s seeing only 50% of his teams PP minutes, realistically his 5v5 S% isn’t even terrible at 7.19%.   Sometimes the experts are collectively wrong and given what we’re seeing from Shatty this year, which appears to be the case.
Sebastian Aho – Aho is on pace to crush Expert predictions; absolutely destroy them.  Right now he is on an 89 point pace vs the 65ish predicted by experts. So what is going on here for the tri-eligible center in Yahoo!?  He’s shooting at a perfectly normal 11% compared to his career numbers. He’s shooting at a healthy 210 SOG pace.  His IPP at 78 is slightly high but not going to result in a 20-point drop in this point totals. His team has certainly been lucky at a PDO of 1013, but his 5v5 S% is healthy at 8.79%.   This looks like a guy who is ready to continue at the pace he is exhibiting thus far. The red glad is that he’s looking at about 3.4 PT/60 – it’ll be interesting what will ultimately bring that rate down.
I think we can sum up the players in the over performing plot fairly easily:
Brayden Point –  I’ll raise my hand as someone who did not see the continued dominance of Point.  He was pegged 65 points but right now is on pace for 105 points!   Ahhh at least an easy player to deal with.  Sell high now.  See how much you can get for Point+.  He’s shooting at 27% – there is no way that is going to continue. Take the goals he’s scored with your team, remember them fondly and punt him to first owner willing to make a deal.  His team is shooting (not surprisingly) at 13% while he is on the ice, his IPP is high compared to last year at 73% compared to 66% so this certainly could result in a dip.  For my money it looks like a lucky player that you should look at moving.   For what it’s worth I find it really hard to sell high on players, when do you pull the trigger?  What if the fun continues?  It’s a numbers game, might as well play the averages and expect that in the end those moves will fall in your favor.
Cam Atkinson – Curious case here – longtime Dobber favorite or so I’ve read – his shot volume is on pace to eclipse 300 so volume is helping him use brute force to increase his point totals. On top of that he’s shooting 17%.  So in the end you can expect to see the shooting percentage to come back but the shot volume should help Atkinson reach new heights, there is less room to sell high than I expected.
I think the below players in the above graph can be summarized below; if you’ve read this far I think you can connect the dots on how to treat these players if they are on your team.

The Netflix Originals World Cup: which is the greatest show of them all?
http://www.internetunleashed.co.uk/?p=6539 The Netflix Originals World Cup: which is the greatest show of them all? - http://www.internetunleashed.co.uk/?p=6539 Choosing your favorite Netflix show is like choosing your favorite child - it's almost impossible. Well, that's what you tell Little Tommy anyway, while cuddling up to his sister Emily. But choose we must, as this is the season of the World Cup and what better way to celebrate a tournament about football than using Netflix Originals as a substitute for football teams? Okay, the link is a touch tenuous but we are sticking with it. Below is a list of the best Netflix Original shows and, according to our simulation (scribbled notes on the back of a e-cigarette packet), how they would fare in a World Cup tournament that consists of 32 teams (shows) where there can be only one winner. Before you shout that your number one show isn't even on the list, then just remember that below are shows in the World Cup finals, there was many a qualification game to get here and series such as Making a Murderer and Gypsy made a short, sharp exit. These are the best shows on Netflix, Original or otherwise.  Group A WINNER: Master of None RUNNER-UP: Sense8 House of Cards Dear White PeopleWith House of Cards getting an instant red card early on in its first match, it was really only Dear White People left to try and usurp the might of Master of None and Sense8. Master of None outwitted everyone, however, with its, er, quick wit. While Sense8 made a sensational comeback which was unexpected but definitely what the fans wanted.  Group B WINNER: The End of the F***ing World RUNNER-UP: Marvel's The Punisher 13 Reasons Why LoveWith its 'don't give a f*** style of play, The End of the F***ing World topped its group with ease. The Punisher qualified a close second thanks to a brutal approach to its ball handling, leaving 13 Reasons Why in a perpetual state of teenage angst. Love, on the other hand, was too hipster to care about winning. Group C WINNER: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt RUNNER-UP: Narcos The OA Big MouthIf drug tests were a thing at this World Cup then Narcos would have been swiftly disqualified. Instead it managed a respectable second in its group. It was Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt that ultimately topped the group, though, thanks to sheer lovely optimism. The OA and Big Mouth never stood a chance – the latter was just plain embarrassing.  Group D WINNER: Mindhunter RUNNER-UP: Santa Clarita Diet Bloodline EasyIt was eery to watch how well Mindhunter got into the minds and under the skin of its opposition in this group. Santa Clarita Diet took a different approach, deciding to go for the jugular more times than we'd care to mention. Bloodline unfortunately didn't gel as a family unit and Easy was, er, too easy.  Group E WINNER: Jessica Jones RUNNER-UP: Daredevil Wet Hot American Summer She's Gotta Have ItJessica Jones was a deserved winner here, showing super strength on the pitch. Daredevil managed to sneak a couple of shots in, despite shooting blind for the most part. We have no idea what happened to Wet Hot American Summer - they were easily the youngest team on the pitch, but looked like a bunch of wheezing 40 year olds out there. Group F WINNER: Stranger Things RUNNER-UP: BoJack Horseman The Get Down A Series of Unfortunate EventsStranger Things turned their opposition upside down, using techniques rarely seen outside the 80s, while Bojack Horseman stayed stable right up into the final furlong. The Get Down disappointed in the second half of their matches and nothing seemed to go right for A Series of Unfortunate Events.  Group G WINNER: GLOW RUNNER-UP: Orange Is The New Black Altered Carbon DarkGLOW deserved to win for its kit alone but also managed to wrestle the opposition to the ground. Orange Is The New Black had to use a few 'get out of jail free' cards but took a respectable second place. Altered Carbon was style over substance but the biggest disappointment was Dark - it's a quality show and should have done better.  Group H WINNER: The Crown RUNNER-UP: Luke Cage Ozark Marco PoloThe Crown had a right royal rumble in its games, putting on a performance fit for a queen. Luke Cage's ability to smash through the defence proved fruitful but Ozark and Marco Polo promised much by dazzling at the beginning but then ultimately offered nothing that we hadn't seen before.  Last 16 Master of None v Marvel's The Punisher Quick-fire one liners and a smattering of romance on the pitch couldn't match The Punisher for sheer brutality. This was always going to be a one-sided match, but the pummelling Master of None got was a bit too much to bear sometimes. Frank Castle is one striker everyone wants on their team. WINNER: Marvel's The PunisherSense8 v The End of the F***ing World Sense8's wonderful comeback wasn't enough to usurp The End of the F***ing World. The show just has too much grit and cynicism to not care about anything but winning. Although it did narrowly avoid a red card for some unnecessary existential angst near the beginning of the game. WINNER: The End of the F***ing WorldUnbreakable Kimmy Schmidt v Santa Clarita Diet Brains beats unflagging optimism in what was one of the closest run battles so far on the pitch. Kimmy Schmidt looked like a surefire bet in the first half, with some fantastically flamboyant moves from Titus Andromedon but Sheila Hammond fought (and ate) tooth and nail to win the game in extra time. WINNER: Santa Clarita DietNarcos v Mindhunter The drugs wore off for Narcos in the end, with a 3-0 loss to the might of Mindhunter. We don't know quite how they do it, but they seem to lure the opposition into a false sense of security, get them to bear their souls then stick the knife in for victory. Narcos started off strong, though, with a false sense of self belief but whatever powers they had soon wore off and they were left a sniffly mess. WINNER: MindhunterJessica Jones vs BoJack Horseman We don't know how this happened. Jessica Jones was sure of a place in the quarter finals, then in the last minute she completely bottled it and gave away a penalty. This gave Bojack the power to trot up to the spot and hoof one in. There was no cheering from Bojack and co, though, just a stare that seemed to last a thousand yards. WINNER: BoJack HorsemanDaredevil vs Stranger Things Who you gonna call when a game gets tight? Yep, you've guessed it Stranger Things. This one went into extra time but where Daredevil flagged in its second half, seemingly running out of ideas that didn't consist of magic and ninjas, Stranger Things admirably kept the quality levels high through both halves - and even managed to win despite getting a red card for that awful episode where they introduced the new kids. WINNER: Stranger Things GLOW vs Luke Cage It turns out that despite a great hip-hop soundtrack blasting throughout the game and some impressive bullet-stopping play, Luke Cage sagged after half time, not quite sure what style it wants to play and the end result is a KO from the gorgeous ladies of wrestling. If only Cage had his super sub alias Jessica Jones to help him through, but alas he was on his own for this one. WINNER: GLOW Orange Is The New Black vs The Crown One of the original Originals, Orange Is The New Black stood its ground for the majority of this game, proving to the world that age isn't an issue when it comes to taking on the new Netflix overlords. But, this is the monarchy and they like to get their way - even if their final goal should have been ruled offside. But who really has the guts to tell the queen that they made the wrong decision? No one, it seems. WINNER: The Crown Quarter finals Marvel's The Punisher vs Santa Clarita Diet This was a marvel to watch. The Punisher gave his all, relentlessly pursuing the ball like it was the men who killed his family. But it wasn't enough. Even the strongest hearts are covered by weak flesh and that's exactly what Santa Clarita Diet went for, chomping through bone until there were only their feet left to kick the ball into the goal and the final whistle was called. WINNER: Santa Clarita DietThe End of the F***ing World vs Mindhunter The mind games simply didn't work this time around for Mindhunter, which makes sense when the minds you are trying to break are that of two borderline psychotic characters. In the end, The End of the F***ing World was just too emotionless for Mindhunter to get past and all it took was one corner kick to knock those hunters of minds out. WINNER: The End of the F***ing WorldBoJack Horseman vs GLOW Poor ol' Bojack, he has his ups and very much his downs. His heart wasn't in this one - two goals down after 30 minutes, he had checked out and checked into rehab, mumbling something about blaming Todd. This left GLOW to antagonise the crowd and woo them back again with their wrestling prowess. WINNER: GLOW Stranger Things Vs The Crown All things must pass and monarchies must end but this was one of the more unusual ways. We haven't read all of the rulebook but subbing on a Demogorgon at the 70th minute certainly won Stranger Things the game - because there were so few people standing by the end. The queen held strong but was stretchered off after 80 minutes. Prince Philip was handed a red for foul and abusive language and we're certain he'll be fined for the words that came out of his mouth. WINNER: Stranger Things Semi Finals Santa Clarita Diet vs GLOW The gorgeous ladies of wrestling just couldn't do anything right in the semi finals, until the 80th minute. Things started fall apart when one was given a foul for a rather nasty suplex. This was much to the annoyance of their manager who had spent most of the match powdering his nose in the changing rooms. But then a lucky punt from the halfway line duped the keeper and the ball went in. After that, Santa Clarita Diet had finally lost hunger for the game. WINNER: GLOW The End of the F***ing World vs Stranger Things Stranger Things won before the game even started. The police had finally caught up with The End of the F***ing World's star-crossed lovers so the match was abandoned and Stranger Things given the win by default. While this was a brilliant result for them, surely they couldn't go on to win the the thing? WINNER: Stranger Things The Final GLOW vs Stranger Things Football, bloody hell. Nothing happenes in this game for an hour, then Ruth Wilder goes all Zoya The Destroyer and angers the opposition. This was followed by a sending off for the She Wolf, after she bit Dustin. This sent Eleven into a frenzy and she managed to score three goals with her mind 10 minutes from the end. GLOW tried to recover but they were soon out for the count. Stranger Things has won the Netflix Originals World Cup!WINNER: Stranger Things TechRadar's World Cup coverage is brought to you in association with Honor.
