been rewatching rtte
toothless is called T multiple times, but the letter T doesn't exist in the alphabet of this world
i think hiccup was also called H???
hiccup went to the wedding of the man who tried to kill him and his family multiple times. no wonder he thought he could change drago's mind
snotlout is canonically a theater kid
"you're so small and cuddly" "please never say that again"
the twins are really smart, but they're also just stupid
hiccup straight up disappears when he's working on something
heather had a super noticeable crush on astrid
fishlegs got a love interest!! a plus size main character actually has a cool, badass love interest!
it was super hetnormative but it was cute
there was an island full of flying women who were implied to regularly commit cannibalism
hiccup taught all the riders how to fly with toothless, that's so sweet
everyone is a flat earther except for the twins
hiccup almost directly killed a lot of people
and killed a LOT more when destroying their ships
“scalding– cal..ding--" "toothle, plama bla!" was pretty much the funniest part of the entire series
dagur was bullied as a kid by a guy 8 years older than him who literally tattooed an imagine of him beating up little dagur in his arm??? What was that all about
actually we need to talk about how messed up everything about dagur is and about how the things that could've/did happen(ed) to him may be the reasons why he's Like That
just why was he imprisoned by the outcasts??? he didn't do anything to them directly
oof my brain is spiraling. "he loved you" "ig now we'll never know" what do you mean he didn't know if his dad loved him
there's a technically musical episode
tuffnut became hiccup's defense attorney and immediately got him the death sentence
hiccup regularly jumps off cliffs
he also jumped off a boat, with his arms tied and without toothless. just where did he think he was going
snotlout's annoying attitude is actually because spitelout pressures him too much and he feels like he has to be perfect for his dad :((
THE 'HICCUP'S EVIL MIRROR' VILLAIN THEME DONE RIGHT YESS!!!
viggo is the best httyd villain change my mind (you can't, swords at sundown, you may bring backup but i will win on my own)
skrill comeback skrill comeback SKRILL COMEBACK!!!!
"COMEEE TO DADDY"
what is a boar pit???
oh my god i had missed this series so much. it has no right to be this funny
this was my childhood. it has forever shaped the way i am
berserker heather the unhinged >>>
actually good disability rep! yay
hiccup complains about his peg leg pinching him
he straight up cannot walk without it and it is shown many times
"well, there are the benefits of a metal leg" after it got caught in a bear trap
funny moments, like snotlout trying to steal it to use it as a weapon
the jokes!! toothless laughing at the jokes!!! hiccup being so fucking done with the twins, who are always making the jokes!
there's an episode where everyone is so sleep deprived they actually start spiraling
astrid becomes a happy go lucky girl, hugs snotlout and tells him he's handsome
the fucking mood swings snotlout got were insane
the twins were straight up just hallucinating
"i sent them to wash their dragons, how could they mess that up?" cut to heather falling on her face with a bucket full of water in her hands
fishlegs becomes so paranoid, he's yelling at everyone all the time
"don't you know the trapper's trap can trap the trapper?? ...oh gods, i must be losing it, i'm quoting dagur"
YOOOO VALKA!!!! it's so nice to see her
hiccup tried to murder dagur to stop him from getting to toothless, which is scary bc it shows just how far he's willing to go for his bff, but also funny because hiccup. that was not going to work
oh the hiccstrid slowburn, how i have missed you
the twins's made up language
there was a beach episode turned murder mystery and a musical episode held at gun point
hiccup has a whole little speech that he periodically gives astrid to remind her that the twins serve a purpose

it’s been said many times before but Ranni is easily the funniest character in Elden Ring, and in my opinion she’s the funniest character FromSoft has ever written
Tumblr media
she was so vehemently opposed to being used by the higher powers in the Lands Between that she responded to being picked as a potential new goddess by killing her own body and moving her soul into a doll body with four arms. (said doll body may just happen to look exactly like the person she learned her signature magic from.) she did this by stealing a piece of the physical manifestation of the concept of death, and then had one of her many siblings assassinated with that same piece of the rune of death, and she flat out admits she did all of this to your face if you ask her about it.
she is (apparently) on a first-name basis with your horse, and the only reason she initially introduces herself to you is because she heard your horse has a new master and wants to find out what you’re like. she’ll comment on what a “ruffian” your horse has chosen as a master if you’re rude to her. she uses an alias the first time you meet her, and said alias, Renna, in addition to being the name of her mentor, is literally just her mom’s name with two letters dropped from the end. (it's also just her own name with slightly different spelling and one letter changed.)
her first body used to be really tall, so now she constantly tries to appear taller than the player by sitting on a wall the first time you meet her, and later by sitting on a pile of books, concealed by her robes, on top of an already decently tall chair. conversely, she later abandons her relatively more human-sized doll body to hide out inside a tiny little replica OF her doll body, and when you find her she pretends to be an inanimate object the first few times you talk to her and then she gets pissed at you for figuring out it was really her.
she responds to marriage proposals by saying “okay that’s fair, but you have to become royalty first, I’ll see you when you have that figured out” and then leaves you a free sword because that’s the traditional wedding present the women in her family give their spouses. and then when you’ve beaten the game she DOES in fact take you as a consort, no questions asked. there is absolutely no gender-specific dialogue of any kind at any point when you talk to Ranni, including when you propose to her, and she is the chaotic bi representation I know a lot of my bi friends have been hoping for.
if you try to fight her mother, an optional boss most people will go after during their playthroughs because the benefits are pretty useful, Ranni impersonates her mother by creating an illusion of her at the height of her power, and has her ‘mom’ say she hopes Ranni is able to achieve all her weird goals as her ‘death’ quote if you destroy the illusion… but also if you destroy the illusion she just. leaves. and you reappear in the same room as her mom, who’s seemingly totally forgotten you two ever fought, without any apparent worry you might just try to pick that fight again.
if you ask to work for her while having an ulterior motive (due to already being on a quest that requires you to gain her trust so you can snoop around her castle) she immediately calls you on it but also finds it funny enough to let you work for her anyway. then if you come back to her after she's given you what you want, she continues putting you to work because why not? you came back, after all. she is the best she's such a fundamentally weird person and that makes her feel so effortlessly real, like a friend of a friend you're always hearing crazy stories about. I love Ranni so much.

oh my god, literally on my knees for kindergarten teacher! dick grayson, you genius
Tumblr media
he's got the fun class, his class is always up for mischief
all you hear if you walk past his classroom, is little giggles from his students
whenever it's one of his students birthday's, he'll always have a gift ready for them
his kiddos love story time, because as I quote "Mr Grayson does the funniest voices"
now the first time you met him, is when your daughter Lily is a new student (moving to a new city is daunting for a little girl and her single mum)
being the new kid is daunting, let alone when you're in kindergarten, but Dick made sure to make sure she's welcomed into his class
he has a special lolly jar for when the kiddos get rewarded for something good
he figured that's a sure way to get her to be less shy
at the end of the school day, she was all smiles and giggles. Bouncing on the spot near Dick, while seeing you walk towards the two of them
Dick's eyes widen as he first saw you, you literally took his breath away
when you bent down to your daughters level and smothered her in kisses while hugging her, he couldn't help but melt and smile at the scene
"Lily made a lot of friends and just between you and me, I kind of got her to open up with some lollies"
finally looking up, you were greeted with the most dashing smile and ocean blue eyes that gazed at you softly. This man was downright pretty
both of you trying to keep your composure, as you both looked at each other
introducing each other with soft smiles and a handshake, you both swore you felt an electric zap run through you as your fingers touched
from there you always made sure to arrive at least 10mins early for after school pick up time, just to get the chance to talk to him
it starts out with small things, asking how about each others day, funny things that happened in his class, to asking what's happening on the weekend
one day, when you were dropping Lily off to her class, she handed you a small bunch of lilies, slyly saying it's for Mr. Grayson. As you watch her run to her friends and giggle (our little matchmaker)
walking up to Dick, you tapped his shoulder, and once again you're mesmerised by those blue eyes
"...are those for me?"
shyly nodding and handing him the flowers "Lilies, because well I guess you can tell they're my favourite because of Lily"
hearing that laugh instantly made you feel warm, wanting nothing more than to always hear it, every morning and every night
it wasn't until the end of the school week that Dick finally got the courage to ask you out
the classic, dinner, movie and the late night dessert spot
you two sitting across from each other in the booth at the ice cream shop, his eyes are sparkling as he listens to you
leaning across from the table, he reached for the little bit of whipped cream on the corner of your lips
"....there...." he whispered as he licked the whipped cream off his thumb
your breath hitched as you watched him
"Dick....?"
"Yeah sweetheart?"
"Kiss me"
your first kiss was as sweet as the ice cream, soft but delicate
it's 3 months when he asked you to be official, of course with the help of Lily
the moment you two told her, she couldn't help but giggle and say confidently "you're welcome, can I be the flower girl for the wedding?"
you both said I love you during a quiet night where he spent the night at your place, cuddling and talking about whatever came to mind
when you have a day off, you stop by his classroom and have lunch together
a lot of sneaky make out sessions (it's hard when you have a 5 year old in the apartment)
the night when Lily is with her grandma, that's when you and Dick had a romantic dinner, he cooked. With you distracting him with kisses on his neck, a few pecks and hands roaming under his shirt
he was soft and gentle when you two made love for the first time

Jenna All right, next up, fan question from Caden M in Warrenville, Illinois. Jenna, was it scripted that you put the other half of the banana on the plate or was that an adlib? It's one of the funniest moments in the whole show.
Angela I agree! I agree! When the waiter says, Can I take your peel? And she flops it on the tray and grabbed a mimosa, I was like, Oh, I like this Pam, This Pam is ready to, like, take on this wedding.
Jenna Well, this was a scripted moment. And here's what it said. It was scripted that Pam, quote, Awkwardly stuffs the rest of the banana in her mouth and gives the peel to the caterer. The caterer, by the way, was played by David Britz, and we had a good time.

Hey friend! For the character Ask Game: Surprisingly I am not asking about my fave Viscount but rather our girl, Eloise, with the numbers 7, 14, 30
Hi lovely friend! 🫶
Oooh okay. Same disclaimer as before, using show as canon…
Eloise Bridgerton
7: A quote of them that you remember
Ooh so two spring to mind. 1) “All of this because a woman merely changed her mind?’ About the fallout of the non wedding. Yaaas queen, go off about the absurdity. And the other, on the wedding day itself when she snaps at Colin “How should I be? Married and silent?” LOVE her sarcastic barbed quick wit 🥹🫶
14: Best storyline they had
So far I’d say the whole rebellious slipping out of the house to go listen to speeches about radical ideas. Love that for her! I thought the sorta across the classes romance with Theo was cute, but secondary to her blossoming as a feminist activist. I hope they don’t drop that character growth.
30: The funniest scene they had?
I mean I love the ‘moooo’ from Benedict when she griped about being trussed up like a prize cow at auction. Also their whole flower arranging aside together lol. I laughed at the whole ‘where do babies come from’ scene in s1, but that was stolen by Colin, Benedict and Violet tbh. So I think my fave might actually be when she scorned Cressida with the “I’d rather die!” and made Pen snort her drink.
Thanks for your ask lovely 😁🧡🧡

Concerning Friends: With Chandler being your favourite, could you explain what draws you to him? What you find interesting in his character, in his development? Love hearing your takes on..well, literally everything 🤍
Gladly!
Chandler Bing Appreciation
Humor
The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Chandler is "He's the funniest of the cast", and considering the competition he had, that's a pretty big accomplishment. I'm a sucker for sarcastic jokes, and Chandler was the king of it. I always liked how he could think of hilarious replies to literally everything everyone said so fast, and his way of delivering the jokes was so specific to him that even the show itself poked fun at it.
And I loved how, just like he was quick to make jokes at everyone else's expense, he also did it to himself, which showed both that he could take a joke AND that he was very insecure. To quote one of my favorite exchanges between him and Rachel (that I totally don't relate to on a spiritual level)
R: You should never be allowed to talk to people! C: I'm sure you're right, but why?!
Him being Joey's best friend also created a lot of naturally funny moments because Joey was way more confident, and far dumber, than Chandler, so one of them is always being the butt of a joke just by being next to the other.
I promise this whole thing won't be just quotes, but nothing better exemplifies what I mean quite like this bit of dialogue when they're discussing possibly having a threesome with a girl, and flipping a coin to decide on which end each will be:
J: What's heads and what's tails? C: If you don't know that, then I don't wanna do this with you.
But my absolute favorite thing about the jokes written for Chandler was that they often poked fun at the show itself, like him responding to Monica giving him a key to her appartment with "Door hasn't been locked in five years, but okay", or making fun of typical Ross and Rachel drama, or just point out how completely absurd some of the situations they got into was, like when Ross was murdering everyone's ears while playing bagpipes for Chandler and Monica's wedding.
M: Why is your family scottish? C: Why is your family Ross?
The guy also looked funny. I've seen one of the directors say Matthew was always aware of the camera, and it shows, because he is always doing something, even in the background, mainly funny faces to react to what the other five are doing. And that led to lots of improv on his part, and you can actually see some of the other actors breaking character in the background because they couldn't hold back the laughter.
His physical comedy was great, and nothing puts a smile on my face quite like seeing Chandler make a joke just a little bity funnier by jumping up when reacting to stuff, or doing a little dance out of the blue - or even better, reacting to stuff that was not supposed to happen. One of my favorite exemples of it in the whole show is him and Rachel (a criminally underused comedic duo of the show) in her office, with him trying to convince her to uncuff him after he hooked up with her boss, and Matthew's face just breaks me every single time I see it.
youtube
Combine his habit of playing off of EVERYTHING with the improvs both from him and co-stars, and you have little moments like this one in which Ross gets a call from his second (ex) wife and Matthew just reacts to David's improv on instinct, then doesn't know what to do next:
Tumblr media
Seriously: could he be more iconic?
Trauma, Insecurities & Awkwardness
For all of his hilarity, Chandler also had quite a lot of emotional baggage that he often either refused to deal with or didn't know how to deal with.
His parents were a disaster, with the dad cheating, the mom hooking up with one of his friends when he was already very uncomfortable with how much he (and everyone) knew about her sex-life and sexual fantasies - to the point that Chandler legitimately thought it was normal for kids to have seen orgies - and, more importantly, he was told about ALL the drama of their messy divorce, and even at his wedding they were at each other's throats.
He went through a lot as a child and naturally that affected how he acted as an adult, making him a messy, flawed, sympathetic character. It was easy not to judge him too much for things like his deeply dysfunctional on-again off-again relationship with Janice, or the moments of immaturity/anxiety in his romance with Monica - especially because he did make progress and grew a lot.
But the dude was also a mess in other (deeply relatable) ways. He flew to Yemen to avoid telling his ex he didn't want to get back together. He lied to said ex about still having feelings for her/wanting to have an affair so she wouldn't show up at his wedding/move to the house next to his. He lied about not being able to come home and was actually gonna let Joey think Monica was cheating, just to not have to tell his best friend that he wanted to spend the night with his wife instead of hanging out. This man let a co-worker call him by the wrong name for months, got in the way of him getting a promotion, then helped the dude trash his office - all to avoid going through the awkwardness of correcting him.
There's a reason he said stuff like "What must it be like not to be crippled by fear and self-loathing?"
A Caring Friend
Even though Chandler didn't think very highly of himself, another thing that made him a personal favorite for me is that he clearly had a very kind, loving side.
He invited both of his parents to his wedding even after all the shit they pulled. His goodbye to Rachel at the end of the show broke my heart in a million little pieces because he was just so sweet to her. He and Joey were so close they were practically a couple, and when he fell for his girlfriend and kissed her, he not only confessed, he was willing to not go after her because he wanted to prove to Joey he'd never betray him again. There's also a "Joey room" in the house he and Monica bought at the end of the show.
Even though his romance with Janice was a mess, he was a really good boyfriend to her when she was leaving her husband for him - and then he stepped aside when Janice realized she still had feelings for the guy, so her kid would not grow up with two dysfunctional parents like he did.
Those moments made the character feel far more real and, once again, made it a lot easier for me to still feel a lot of sympathy for him even when he was in the wrong.
But come on. If we're REALLY gonna talk about Chandler's sweet, caring, understanding, mature side, we gotta talk about the person that brought it out the most.
Chandler & Monica
Mondler, Mondler, Mondler. The best couple on the show without a shadow of a doubt, and possibly one of the best sitcom couples in history. And it was the dynamic that allowed Chandler to develop as a character and let the qualities he already had be front and center in many episodes.
Before the writers even considered pairing them up, we already Chandler offer to be her boyfriend/husband and father of her kids later in life if she doesn't find someone. Monica is offended the first time because why wouldn't she have found someone by then, and in the second time she just laughs because, come on, they're friends, JUST friends????? It'd neeeeever happen.
Both are played for laughs (though Monica does let him try to win her over the second time), but they already highlight some very important things:
1 - Chandler cares so much about Monica that just saying "I'm sure you'll find someone eventually" isn't enough. He has to assure her that even if nothing goes according to plan, she'll still have someone to grow old with.
2 - As early as season one, Chandler already liked and trusted Monica enough that he was not at all hesitant to suggest "Hey, maybe you and I could get together in the future and even have kids." I remind you that at that point in the story Chandler had never so much as let one of his girlfriends have a drawer with their things in his home due to his fear of commitment, and he had assumed EVERY COUPLE broke up after their first fight because pretty much none of his previous relationships survived it (except Janice, but that was more of a "They DID break up, they just got back together later" kind of deal).
And that last point is really made it so easy for audiences to get attached to their romance - which was originally only going to last a couple of episodes! They were already super comfortable with each other and were clearly compatible, which allowed their relationship to progress without the need for the neverending drama, Ross and Rachel style.
Monica was neurotic, had a serious case of OCD, could be very bossy, often needed things done ONE way and one way only - which meant Chandler always knew where he stood with her. If something was wrong, she'd tell him. If she said she was happy and loved him, he could believe her more easily because she simply could not fake it when something was bothering her.
Much like Chandler, her family life was not at all ideal (due to her parents pretty openly liking Ross more than her) and she had tons of self-esteem issues (again, because of her parents and because she used to be overweight) - but she also take a joke, or at the very least, make fun of people right back. I think Chandler related to that.
And, more importantly, their friend group had not imploded after Ross and Rachel's relationship ended very badly, twice. So Chandler just knew that, even if he and Monica didn't work out, it wouldn't be the end of the world, or of their friendship.
It made perfect sense that lots of his typical paranoia didn't affect him as much during their relationship, because by that point he just knew that Monica would always be part of his life.
But the writers also didn't make the mistake of dropping his insecurities, anxiety and even immaturity completely. They came back every now then, sometimes for jokes, other times in a more serious way.
He can't bring himself to full on say that he wants them to be exclusive right away, got way too cocky about being the best sex she ever had and thus made her mad, assumed they'd break up after the first fight, nearly gave himself a heart-attack when he accidentally said "I love you", proposed to her because he wanted them to be on good terms after a fight but didn't know how to fix things without her guiding him, pretended to storm out in Vegas with an empty bag because he just wanted to be dramatic after a fight, and he almost didn't show up at their wedding.
The fact that the writers allowed to still have flaws, took the time to have him overcome said flaws and without being judgemental of him, like Monica was wasting her time with a total loser, is one of the reasons why his character development worked so well, and why I'll defend even the worst seasons of the show.
More importantly, despite the fact Monica is the one with the more experience on how to actually have a relationship, they also let Chandler be the one be the mature one every now and again, and talk sense into her when she's being unreasonable (like when she wanted to spend ALL the money he had saved for their future on their wedding alone).
I also really like how they have HIM taking the lead in some major events for their relationship, showing not just that he cares, but that he really is growing as a character and becoming more comfortable with being an equal in the relationship, instead of just needing Monica to guide/push him or just agreeing whenever she wants to takes things to the next level.
He is the one that decides they're still in "London time", the one to first say "I love you" (twice), the one to propose in Vegas and then start the conversation about whether they should really get married once they both think it over and are afraid they're rushing into it, the one to decide it's time for them to move in together, the one to propose for real (only took the writers five fucking tries to realize "Damn, maybe they SHOULD get married"), and while Monica says she wants a baby, she does it as a joke and it's Chandler who then brings up the subject seriously.
That last one also brings us one of the sweetest, saddest moments in the entire show. Them discovering they can't have kids, and Chandler making that whole speech to the mother of the baby they want to adopt that, when the time comes, he'll figure out how to be a dad, but Monica is already a mother - without a baby.
It just showed how much he loved her and how great of a partner he was, and it was FAR from being the one time in which they remain an loveable, interesting couple to watch post-marriage (seriously, it's crazy how Friends was THE show to get both a dramatic mess of a couple that can never reconciliate until the finale AND a stable couple that is just allowed to be happy together).
Chandler getting a look at what his life would be like if Monica left him when his boss is dragging him into his mid-life crisis. Monica being all excited to show him her new boots AND allow to actually guess what's changed about her look instead of doing the obligatory sitcom thing of "Wife gets mad at the husband for petty shit", and then Chandler carrying her on his back because said boots hurt her feet (then saying the other pair she wants to buy will cost her one husband, which always cracks me up). Chandler having to move to Tulsa because of his job, them missing each other like crazy, Chandler remaining faithful when another woman makes a move on him and quitting his job because he just wants to be with his wife, who is then super supportive of him when he's unsure of what to do in his professional life from then on - which of course, leads to this great joke.
M: I want you to have a job that you love, not statistical analysis and data reconfiguration. C: I quit and you learn what I do?
(And in case anyone is wondering, yes, I had to google what his job was because I forgot too)
They're simply an incredible couple that I would gladly watch doing the dishes together, and their relationship being so well-written was one of the best things that could have happened to Chandler's characterization because the show deconstructed and evolved it without betraying the core of who Chandler Bing was.
Also their romance led to the iconic episode of everyone finding out and messing with each other about it, and thus the scene of him and Phoebe trying to "seduce each other." I want to find the genius who wrote that scene in particular and send them a thank you card because it was the best thing in the whole world and I'll cherish it forever.
Matthew Perry, The Absolute Legend
Naturally, I have to end this post by remembering the guy that brought this amazing character to life.
Like I said before, he was always aware of the camera and making sure even the smallest reaction was funny for the audience. Like the other main actors, his charisma made good scenes great, and bad/mediocre scenes enjoyable - and whenever the script gave him something truly excellent to work with, he'd do it perfectly and make it all the more special.
He also stopped the writers from commiting THE biggest mistake they could have ever made: In the season 5 finale, after discovering Monica had lunch with her ex, he was supposed to cheat on her in Vegas, basically copying the Ross and Rachel break up drama of season 3. The actor asked them to change the script because he felt it would make everyone hate his character, sparing the audience of more unecessary drama and giving us the super cute almost-wedding in Vegas, that they chicken out of like two dorks, and then leads to them moving in together.
Matthew Perry was gave this role everything he had, even while going through really dark times, and in doing so he made millions of fans happy all over the world - and he'll be dearly missed.

Me, with Max open, hitting refresh: SHOW SHOW SHOW SHOW
Spoiler reaction to 2x04 below
Hi I'm back after having seen it and OMG OMG. Hi, they came for us. They came to kill us all. I'm in pieces. Somehow all of that is a good thing. Raise your hand who else is deceased.
Buttons, BUTTTONS, we're getting Buttons info? Oh, just a tease.
God god there's so much happening.
"First time I've been on this side of a walk of shame" Wee John I fucking love you.
Ed my heart, sigh. I get it, of course anger is the easy way to go with this. "You're not a fucking mermaid." Literally the funniest thing he could have said somehow.
Buttons, you really should have separated those two sentences. "Walk with me so I can explain." Cool you sound wise. "I'm hunting for a vessel so I can turn into a bird." And...you've ruined it.
For real tho the way this show manages to be so funny while still giving us the serious story is wild.
He's fucking quoting the song my god.
The bunny scene. The glove covering the spider. And I KNEW the bunny wasn't lasting long and wouldn't be a thing. I KNEW it. I hope the fandom doesn't more poor Stede Bunnet too badly.
So is that the canonical explanation for Buttons? He visited the gravy basket too many times and his grip on reality is permanently loose? Like someone who has done way too much LSD?
I should watch this show at more than 30 second intervals but there's too much to talk about.
I love them so much I love this whole scene with Anne and Mary omg. (I still hate Anne's corset with the fire of a thousand suns for looking like every mass-produced shitty steampunk corset of 2012 but)
Do whatever you want you're good at that. I love them.
Them sitting on a fucking couch together "can we not do this now?" I'm LIVING.
WTF WTF is going on with Anne and Mary.
I was WONDERING why Roach's cake looked like a wedding cake. It was for traumatic reasons.
"Artsy outsider was always your type." OH REALLY SAY MORE.
Disappointed Anne and Stede weren't caught by Ed and Mary but okay.
Izzy...izzy...izzy. I wish we could have seen him drunkenly fighting the unicorn.
We all wondered what would make Ed break that chair....yeah finding out Stede went back to Mary would do it...
I can't I can't you guys I'm dead. I'm dead and gone and we're never recovering from this,,
But how fucking honest and open ED was in this conversation. " I was all in." like I love them so much.
Why didn't we get a toxic lesbian kiss, huh? I feel robbed.
Izzy...Con fuck you very much. That's all.
Okay okay, fucking Stede being like "hey you wanna uh spendthenightwithme" and Ed "Yes".
And then Buttons is (maybe) a bird now? Good for him, good for him. You gotta change to love them right. Yeah I see you.
Then running off through the trees together giddy. I can't. Didn't think we would get this.
"The new unicorn" okay. gonna need someone to explain this to me with meta.
That ep omg like perfection? like why are they being so nice to us? I can't.
So...Ed and Stede...did they...uh...?? If they leave it ambiguous in the next ep am I maybe gonna write it? maaybe.

'Doctor Who celebrated its 60th anniversary with three special episodes airing across as many weeks, and each provided viewers with some great quotes from its characters. These specials mark the return of David Tennant, now playing the Fourteenth Doctor, and Catherine Tate, who reprises her role as Donna Noble. The two were last seen in the season 4 finale, "Journeys End," in 2008. The specials also see the surprising debut of the Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, who wasn't expected to appear in the show until the 2023 Christmas Day special, "The Church on Ruby Road."
The three Doctor Who 60th-anniversary specials, entitled "The Star Beast," "Wild Blue Yonder," and "The Giggle," all feature memorable dialogue, including several quotable lines. Not only do the Doctor and Donna's exchanges bring some expected brilliant moments to the show, but there are also some entertaining comments from other returning characters, such as Donna's mother, Sylvia Noble (Jacqueline King), and the Doctor Who villain known as the Toymaker (now played by Neil Patrick Harris). With Doctor Who season 14 due to air in Spring 2024, there are sure to be more amazing quotes to come, but the 60th-anniversary episodes deliver enough great lines to tide fans over until then.
15. "Tuna Madras." - Sylvia Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Star Beast"
While Donna's mother doesn't feature too heavily during the 60th-anniversary specials, one of the best quotes from these episodes is spoken by her. The deadpan delivery of this line, as Shaun (Karl Collins) returns home from work to find his family panicking over an alien in their kitchen, is nothing short of hilarious. The entire scene gives off a deer-in-headlights atmosphere, and Sylvia's line is a perfect breaking point after Shaun's arrival before all hell breaks loose.
14. "No Such Thing As Spaceships? We've Got A Bloody Martian In The Shed!" - Donna Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Star Beast"
Donna Noble's return to Doctor Who shows that the character hasn't changed too much and, as has been established during her original run, always manages to miss the arrival of aliens on Earth. However, this doesn't last long, and she finds the Meep (Miriam Margoyles) in her daughter's shed. This scene is absolute chaos, but it sees Donna at her funniest, screaming as she attempts to pull the Meep off her leg.
13. "I Don't Just Fire Darts, Mate." - Shirley Anne Bingham
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Star Beast"
"The Star Beast" introduces Shirley Anne Bingham (Ruth Madeley), as well as the return of UNIT to Doctor Who, as she is the latest to hold the position of the Doctor's scientific advisor. Shirley is an ambulatory wheelchair user and this is to her benefit when she helps the Doctor against the Meep. Her ability to use her wheelchair to not only knock out the manipulated soldiers but also to blow a huge hole in a brick wall while uttering this line is nothing short of incredible.
12. "I Had A Subconscious Infracutaneous Retrofold Memory Loop, Making Me Act As Soft As You And Give Away £166 Million!" - Donna Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Star Beast"
When the Tenth Doctor (also Tennant) said his goodbyes before regenerating, one of his last acts was to leave Donna and Shaun a winning lottery ticket on their wedding day. "The Star Beast" reveals that they had won £166 million, but Donna gave her money away to charity. This quote shows off Donna's character and her hilarious reaction upon getting her memory back, only to shout at the Doctor, blaming him for her actions as she'd done so to be like him.
11. "Then... We Go... And Kick Its Arse!" - Donna Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "Wild Blue Yonder"
The Doctor Who special "Wild Blue Yonder" sees the Doctor and Donna dropped into the middle of hostile action and the TARDIS abandoning them. In a typical Donna fashion, her realization of the danger only motivates her, knowing she has to get back home to Rose (Yasmin Finney) on Earth. With her having been away from Doctor Who for such a long time, it's great to see Donna still as the head-strong and boisterous character that made her so brilliant 15 years ago.
10. "We've Got A Chair. That's A Good Sign. It's A Lifeform With A Bum." - The Fourteenth Doctor
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "Wild Blue Yonder"
It wouldn't be Doctor Who without the Doctor making an obvious comment. While "Wild Blue Yonder" is a Doctor-and-companion-only story, minus the brief appearance of Isaac Newton (Nathaniel Curtis) in the cold open, it sees great dramatic performances from both David Tennant and Catherine Tate. Plus, the Doctor identifying that the threat must be able to sit down is made even creepier when they struggle to find any further signs of life.
9. "So I Arrived In Southampton, Which Allowed My Mother To Say I Was A Problem From The Day I Was Born. And I've Not Come To The Edge Of The Universe To Discover I'm Still Dealing With That." - Donna Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "Wild Blue Yonder"
The Doctor Who 60th-anniversary specials dig deeper into Donna's backstory, and considering she has been such a prominent character in the show since its 2005 reboot, this was unexpected. Season 4 saw plenty of moments that indicated that Sylvia wasn't the most appreciative of her daughter, and even though it's clear that their relationship has improved since 2008, Donna clearly has some lingering issues on the subject. Still, it's great to see yet another classic Donna line that seems like a ramble about her life but ends up being something that helps her and the Doctor save themselves from danger once again.
8. "Although, Don't Say Companion. That Sounds Like We Park Him On The Seafront At Weston-Super-Mare." - Donna Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
Donna's casual remarks are one of the reasons why she's such a brilliant character, and her response to being referred to as a companion only proves this. On top of this, she's quick to check with Shirley if her comment is offensive or not, not wanting to insult anyone other than the Doctor in the process. Donna's ability to paint a picture with just a few choice words is hilarious, and it's not the only time she does this in "The Giggle."
7. "I'm All Sonic And Tardis And Time Lord. Take That Away. Take Away The Toys. What Am I? What Am I Now?" - The Fourteenth Doctor
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
While there are many funny moments in the Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials, one of the most dramatic comes from the Doctor in "The Giggle." David Tennant's portrayal of the Doctor's more solemn moments is just as strong as The Fourteenth Doctor as they were as The Tenth, and breaking his walls down to Donna once again shows that their friendship is just as strong as it was before. This particular quote also sets up the Doctor's fate at the end of the specials, and it's a refreshing moment to see the Doctor acknowledge his reputation across the universe.
6. "Well, That's All Right Then." - The Toymaker
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
One of the most intense scenes in "The Giggle" sees the Toymaker spill details about the Doctor's lives and companions since he'd last seen Donna, in the form of a creepy but accurate puppet show. The Toymaker's sharp tongue is quick to call the Time Lord out about what happened to his friends over the years, and even when the Doctor retaliates, he spits back at him. It's an interesting moment for the show, especially as nobody had ever really made the Doctor face his actions in such a way before, but without this scene, the Doctor might never have accepted that he needed to grieve properly.
5. "You're Gonna Be Someone Else. It Doesn't Matter Who. Cause Every Single One Of You Is Fantastic." - Donna Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
Donna's reaction to the Doctor regenerating in "The Giggle" is significantly different from the first time she'd seen it, way back in the season 4 episode "The Stolen Earth." This time, now aware of what would happen and having seen more of his incarnations as part of the DoctorDonna, she's quick to hold his hand and gently guide him through the process. This scene shows one of the most wholesome moments between the pair, proving that they are one of the best Doctor Who duos.
4. "Can You Pull?" - The Fourteenth Doctor
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
The Doctor's bi-generation is a huge shake-up for the format of Doctor Who and is particularly unexpected by the Doctor himself. Whatever is running through his head for him to ask this question must be interesting, but it leads to the arrival of Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor. It must also be quite an odd moment for Mel (Bonnie Langford) and Donna too, as being asked to pull could mean anything.
3. "Do You Come In A Range Of Colors?" - Donna Noble
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
In another one of Donna's classic remarks, she quickly points out a first in Doctor Who: Ncuti Gatwa's portrayal of the Fifteenth Doctor makes him the first actor of color to play the Doctor on Doctor Who, and the second to play a Time Lord, with the first being Sacha Dhawan's Master. Of course, Donna's playful way of acknowledging this is a great way of explaining this to audiences.
2. "You Can't Save Everyone." - The Fifteenth Doctor
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
Even though the Fifteenth Doctor only appears toward the end of "The Giggle," he still has some great lines of dialogue. What's unique about this version of the Doctor is his ability to look back on his past without any shame and face his problems head-on. It's refreshing to see the Doctor speak to himself, and to tell his past incarnation exactly what his companions had spent years telling him: "You can't save everyone."
1. "One Thing You Need In This Place Is A Chair." - The Fifteenth Doctor
Quoted from the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special "The Giggle"
With there now being two TARDISes, the Fifteenth Doctor points out exactly what is missing from both: a chair. The jump seat was a staple of previous versions of the Doctor's ship, and it did seem unusual that the new TARDIS didn't have one, especially as the Tenth Doctor had one in the design he'd had in his original era. Seeing as the new version is so much bigger compared to previous ones, surely Doctor Who's design team could find the room to squeeze one in.'

Round one of the Bastard Man (affectionate) championshionships is complete!
Let's take a moment to appreciate everyone who got knocked out in round one, and everything I like about them.
Tumblr media
Mammon (Obey Me)
Mammon the love of my life Mammon. </3 Yes he's a demon, yes he's the avatar of greed, yes he's "the scummy brother", but with a heart of gold, deep down inside. Very deep down. Plus he's funny and secretly sensitive and he likes to cuddle. <3 I'm honestly shocked he got knocked out in round one, I always thought he was quite a tumblr darling.
Tumblr media
Hercule Flambeau (Father Brown)
Everyone loves a gentleman thief, don't they? Especially one with a homoerotic relationship with his narrative foil? A master of disguise? A secret sadboy with a tragic backstory? A man who broke out of prison? World's sluttiest absent father? When will your man ever.
Tumblr media
Inspector Mallory (Father Brown)
I LOVE HIM SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA. He's such a funny character. Little angry northern bastard man. He's awful, and should be easy to hate, but he just suffers so often and suffers so beautifully, you can't help but root for him to win, just once. And he loves his kids! A short king and a DILF.
Tumblr media
James E. Negatus (Yonderland)
Listen. Listen. I could never love anyone like I love Negatus. He occupies a special and unique part of my heart just for him. He's babygirl. He's daddy. He's cringefail. He's badass. He's gender. He's really really kinky. I cannot understate this, this is the fetish fuel show and it's like 70% his fault. He's on a mission to kill the hero but he's also sort of in love with her. I'm never not going to go feral for that. He has a tragic backstory and a softness for small children and small animals. He's canonically committed multiple warcrimes, several murders, and also demon-genocide. He's done nothing wrong ever in his life <3
Tumblr media
Louis Fairhead (Casualty)
My sweet prince when will he return from war? It's been so long since the show ever even so much as acknowledged him. He wasn't even at his own father's wedding to a woman Louis was practically part-raised by. I think he's fallen into a crack in space and time. Anyway I love Louis. I don't even think he's a bad guy. He's had the most traumatic life imaginable. His mother died in a car accident while he was in the car. He got kidnapped once. One time he nearly got blown up. This was all before he was ten. Then as a teenager he became a drug addict. And as a young adult he had a heroin overdose. I think he's within his rights to be an angry and emotionally distant man. I would defend him to the death. I just want him to be safe and happy and healthy. Feel like pure shit just want him back.
Tumblr media
Aristide Valentin (the Father Brown books)
First of all Aristide Valentin did nothing wrong so jot that down. YES he committed murder. But he murdered a Catholic pro-guillotine billionaire so it barely counts. He also stole human remains but this is tumblr, we're used to that. He's a skilled swordsman with a vast sword collection which is just the sexiest thing imaginable. YES he's rude to everyone but you don't UNDERSTAND, he's a genius surrounded by idiots, he gets frustrated. Also he's Parisian, they're just like that I think, he can't help it. Honestly his only real crime is smoking while on the underground platform at Liverpool Street station. That's unforgivable.
Tumblr media
Barclay Beg-Chetwynde (BBC Ghosts)
Honestly one of the funniest characters in the show, I don't even care. Every episode he's in is a delight. Every single line delivery is so deliciously bastardly. And he makes a brilliant foil to my two favourite characters, Julian and Alison. He's great.
Tumblr media
B.Z. (Santa Claus The Movie)
I love this movie. I love this movie a lot. I've watched it at least twice a year every year since I was a toddler. Often more. I could quote the whole film by heart. And my guy B.Z. is by far the most quotable character. Highlight of the whole film. Every single line of his lives rent free in my head. He has beef with Santa Claus for literally no good reason. He chained up a child for even less good reason. He invented Christmas 2. He exited the movie by eating too many magic flying lollypops and floating away into the stratosphere. Utterly unhinged from first scene to last. Literally no-one could ever compare.
Tumblr media
Kerr Avon (Blakes 7)
Ah, Avon. I was obsessed with him as an edgy teen. I think in many ways he is the edgy teen appeal character of his genre. He's like the Shadow the Hedgehog of dystopian sci-fi. I mean this as a sincere complement. And he's once again by far the most quotable character in the show. I feel like that's a very important factor for a good bastard man. Quotability.
I won't say I could fix him, because I don't think anyone could. But I wish someone could.
Tumblr media
Cat (Red Dwarf)
My sweet underappreciated boy. In many shows he would be the beloved bastard man. It's not his fault he shares a show with Arnold Rimmer, and you simply can't outdo the do-er.
But everything he does, he does it in ~ style ~
Tumblr media
Randal Graves (Clerks)
This character means such a lot to me. He's the worst, of course. He sucks. You wouldn't want to know someone like that in real life. But that's part of what's so tragic about him. He's already resigned himself to the fact he's an unlikeable asshole loser, and has long since given up even trying to make new friends, and now he's a deeply lonely weirdo trapped in a toxic co-dependant relationship with the only real friend he has, who he's simultaneously obsessed with and sort of in love with (no homo) (maybe homo) and would die for, but also treats terribly. He's just such a sad odd man. I think about him often.
Tumblr media
Ray Carling (Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes)
Ray my best friend Ray. Yes okay so he's wildly homophobic and misogynistic, but like. Underneath that he's a very sweet and compassionate man, I promise. He's just trapped under the crushing weight of insecurity and self-loathing and societal expectations of masculinity. His backstory is heartbreaking. Absolutely devastating. I won't go into details because spoilers but Jesus Christ. He's the world's number one most single man, being the only one left not paired up out of the seven main characters across both shows, which hardly seems fair. He deserves a nice love interest I think. Give him a nice girlfriend, or lean into the "Ray is suffering from internalised homophobia" implications that Ashes to Ashes leant into occasionally and give him a nice boyfriend if you want, I don't care which, just give him someone.
Mentally I am holding his hand and buying him a pint right now.
Tumblr media
Julian Cantley (literally one single episode of Heartbeat)
Choo choo, all aboard the brainrot express. Get in loser we're forming deep emotional attachments to characters with like 20 minutes total screentime. Anyway I'm obsessed with him right now. It's disrupting my drive to create content for characters with actual fanbases because I just keep thinking about Brooding Spy Man Whomst Only I Care About instead. He's just so quiet and angry and brooding. I have so many headcanons for him. I've even headcanoned what his entire flat back in London looks like. Send help.
Tumblr media
Ryan Reeves (The Dumping Ground)
Ah he's just a baby. Just a little guy. Who could stay mad at him. Yes the way he'd learn his lesson only to go back to being evil again 2 episodes later got frustrating, but like. He loves his sister and he rescued Harry and Finn. He's not all bad. Apart from when he's being a teenage supervillain lurking in the shadows for no reason. But it's all because he's SAD, you don't UNDERSTAND,
Tumblr media
Michael Doyle (Grange Hill)
Look. He stopped being racist after he turned like 13, okay? He just became a petty criminal and politically corrupt instead. And his dad sucks, his dad says worse stuff than Mickey ever did, he was clearly just parroting his dad when he was wee. And there's something so sad and lonely about him. The way he always tries to join in with the group only get pushed out because everyone finds him unbelievably awful. The way he so wants to be Alan's friend. The way he only has the two friends he's got because he pays them to be his friend. Poor little guy. I have to believe he got it together eventually. I have to believe him and Justin were pals by the time they went to sixth form together. I have to.
Tumblr media
Ralph Passmore (Tucker's Luck)
It's Mr Passmore! He means such a lot to me. I'm so happy they started portraying him sympathetically in series 2 because honestly? His rage is so justified. He's unemployed and he's already been cast aside as unemployable. His family have already given him up as a lost cause. His only friend and ally in his family is his younger sister, who ends up leaving home to get away from how verbally abusive their parents are. He drinks to cope and joins a gang for the companionship. He finally gets a job after years of unemployment but finds out it's exploiting vulnerable fellow working class people in his community so he angrily and aggressively quits, after befriending and supporting an old lady. What a king.

Isabella Linton for the character ask?
Since you haven’t specified numbers I will do most of the asks.
Isabella Linton:
1. My first impression of them: I actually disliked her a lot when I first read the book as a 12-year-old. Found her silly.
2. When I truly started to like them: I reread her parts around the age of 15 or so and said “She is great actually??”.
3. A song that reminds me of them: Love Is an Open Door from Frozen due to a Tumblr post I saw in 2016 or so. Also Vay Halime by Candan Erçetin.
4. How many people I ship them with: No one.
5. My favorite ship of them: Isabella/Happiness
6. My least favorite ship of them: Isabella/Edgar. Yes, there are some weirdos speculating that Linton was their incest baby.
7. A quote from them that you remember: ““’But then,’ I continued, holding myself ready to flee; ‘if poor Catherine had trusted you, and assumed the ridiculous, contemptible, degrading title of Mrs. Heathcliff, she would soon have presented a similar picture! She wouldn’t have borne your abominable behaviour quietly: her detestation and disgust must have found voice.’”
10. Describe the character in one sentence: Edgar Linton’s seemingly weak and petulant but actually witty and determined sister.
11. What’s the first thing you think about when you think about the character: Her burns to Heathcliff.
12. Sexuality hc: I think she is heterosexual.
13. Your favorite friendship they have: I like her complicated relationship with Catherine Earnshaw.
16. A childhood headcanon: I think Edgar was the favorite child of their parents.
17. What do you think their first word was: Mamma
18. How do you think they were as a kid: A crybaby
19. The most random ship you’ve seen people have with them: Well, Edgar/Isabella should get that title. Cathy/Isabella is not random but the amount of fanfics it has is still a bit surprising.
20. A weird headcanon: I can’t think of anything.
21. When do you think they were at their happiest: Maybe when she was living alone with her son, especially in the brief periods when Linton wasn’t as sickly as usual.
22. When do you think they were at their lowest: Her first few days at Wuthering Heights when she wanted to be killed by Heathcliff. Also possibly after her wedding night when she understood her mistake in marrying Heathcliff.
24. What do you think is a secret they have never told anyone: Maybe she was more spiteful towards Catherine then she let on to Nelly.
25. When do you think they acted most ooc: Some critics find her actions and strength and wit after marriage ooc but I don’t agree. We don’t even know Isabella much before that.
26. When do you think they were being “themselves” the most: While she was hysterically laughing after having just escaped Heathcliff’s clutches.
28. The most unnecessary thing they ever did: Suggesting a young Heathcliff be imprisoned because he looks like a fortune teller’s son who stole her tame pheasant: racism. Marrying Heathcliff also caused much trouble for herself, her child and her niece.
29. How do think they would be as a parent: I think since she had an especially sickly son and was a single mother, she had to be very attentive, anxious and indulgent. Not SUPER indulgent, not grotesquely Charlie and Chocolate Factory indulgent, but indulgent. I think Linton only survived till the age of 12 because she was especially attentive.
30. The funniest scene they had: Her whole story can be interpreted as VERY darkly humorous.
