FAQ
Hey hey, for those of you curious enough to find out more about our “The Hero Within” zine, here’s our currently planned schedule and the details to the zine. Details might change depending on circumstances, they're all temporal so take them with a grain of salt, but we’ll let you know if that is the case!
When is the zine scheduled:
End of interest survey: June 10th
Applications open: June 14th
Applications close: August 1st
Review period: August 2nd-September 10th
Emails Go out: September 11th
Contributors must accept/join discord server by: October 20th
First check in: November 15st
Second check in: December 15th
Third check in: January 29th
Deadline: February 20th
Preorders: March 1st - March 30th
Sales start: April 1st
Requirements for participation:
Be a fan of Haikyuu!! That's it. If you know how to draw or write and are a fan of Haikyuu!! Then you are free to submit an application!
How many artists/writers will be there:
We are looking for somewhere around 15-20 artists and 10-15 writers a physical copy, but we don’t have a set aim, as it depends on the size of each piece. We may also invite artists/writers in the community alongside those who apply. Everyone will be included in the PDF.
Edit: We are currently 10 Writers and 29 Artists!
What format will the zine be in:
There will be a PDF version available which will include every applicant. The zine might be published as two different physical (book) formats, as well, if our funds allow for that to happen.
What format should the art be in:
Each art piece should be sized in inches or pixels, 6x8 inches(750x1000 pixels) or smaller. There will be double-page spreads available for select artists (those who request it or who have a particularly detailed style). The format should be PNG, but other than that there are no strict requirements. If you are a traditional artist, you must be able to scan your art into a computer to be able to send it to us.
What will the word count be for writers:
There will be a maximum of roughly 3500 words. The minimum will be around 2000 words, less when it’s part of a collab.
How many pages will there be:
We predict to have 84 pages for the physical version.
Will Marvel/DC AU’s be allowed:
They will be allowed. We wish to limit these types of AU's and have each one be more original, but we may accept a few from these AU's.
Will BNHA AU’s be allowed:
See above.
What will the rating of the zine be:
The rating of this zine will be mature, as superhero AU's often come with violence and other themes. Since our level of violence will resemble the grade seen in other suprnatural works, though, it might be more similar to a teens audience. There will be no ghore and we don’t expect that there will be sexual content in any of the pieces.
Will there be any merch with the zine:
Yes, there will be merch!
Estimation of the price:
Roughly 20$ for one copy of the physical copy and 10$ for the PDF. The price will raise with the merch added. Final prices will be announced a few weeks before the preorder start.

PIOUS PROJECT (For hygiene kits)
Founded by Fahim Aref, Pious Project's has the mission to empower everyone to make a difference--one good deed at a time. They have created a way to take part in global humanitarian, charitable projects, including donating and volunteering.

Currently, they are raising funds to donate hygiene kits to menstruating people in Gaza. The value of each one is $20, which contains sanitary pads, tissues, wipes, a hairbrush, toothpaste, toothbrush and other items.
How can I donate?
The following is the link that will take you directly to the page, once there you will click on the button that says "Donate."

If you are not logged in, it will ask you to create an account. You should receive an email welcoming you, as well as a direct link to the website.
The next thing that will appear are three options:
You can enter the amount you want to donate (USD), or instead, donate a specific amount to pay for from 1 to 50 entire kits. If you choose the second option, don't worry, each option tells you how many kits you are donating for!
The most important thing is to keep in mind that you will have the option to only donate once or monthly.
Finally, you will only have to fill out the details of your card or bank and that's it! You will have donated to the cause

Medical Aid for Palestine is a nonprofit organization that is located in the uk. their aid goes toward west bank, gaza, and lebanon. they help both palestinians living under occupation and those that have refuge status. they give medical, mental, and disability support
