     Stomach grumbling past the point of being possible to ignore, River reluctantly put aside his palette. It had been easier when he hadn’t kept any semblance of a schedule, his stomach not knowing when to expect the next meal. But since Chad had moved in and they’d been eating most meals together, it wasn’t so easy to go back to ignoring his own body’s needs.       On his way down, he heard the rumble of quiet conversation and assumed Chad was on the phone. Wanting to return to work without delay, he quickly grabbed a snack bar, biting hastily into it as he turned to leave.       Nearly jumping out of his skin, the snack bar clattered to the floor in a crumbly mess. Beside Chad stood River’s brothers, all clearly furious, and there was no ambiguity that all that anger was directed at him. Launching forward with a growl, Loch opened his mouth to speak, but Bay caught him on the shoulder.      “We promised,” he muttered, throwing River another dirty look. Loch’s face screwed up into a sour pout, but he reluctantly held his tongue and looked at Chad expectantly instead. Chad sighed and stepped forward, pulling River’s phone from his pocket and holding it out with a stern expression.      “Call your sister and apologise,” he said firmly, gesturing to the twins behind him. “Or I leave you to them.”       Unable to face any of their anger, River’s gaze dropped to the crumbs on the floor, and he took the phone in contrite silence. He held his breath, the tension dragging on as his brothers exchanged a long look.      “Fine.” Bay nodded to Chad, then nudged his twin. “C’mon, Loch.”      Loch continued to glare for a few more moments until finally allowing Bay to lead him away. Once they were gone, Chad simply turned from River with a disappointed shake of his head that hit far harder than anything his brothers could have said.

Sylvester stares at the other, dumbfounded. Not only does it feel a little like a personal attack, after all, he probably does suffer from PTSD himself even if he tries very hard to ignore the issue, but there are also so many things wrong with this statement... he doesn't know where to start.

"Anyone can get PTSD, I do not believe there is a toughness threshold." His voice remains fully neutral, bordering on monotonous even if this conversation is more than a little weird. "Have you ever been to a shrink? Maybe consider doing so."

So, I don't have a tiktok account, but I've occasionally scrolled through the Metal Lords content on there with my friend who has an account. (It's mostly not our thing, but there will be interesting stuff every now and then) ANYWAY- point being, a comment we KEPT seeing the other night was people lamenting how Hunter looked with the side of his head shaved. Just over and over. People went on about how he looked "so good" before and how the shaved side just "ruined" his appearance.

Now, 1. There's an aspect of this I'm just not gonna get because I'm not fucking attracted to him. So I can't see that angle. 2. Obviously, narratively, there's a lot of interesting depth to the whole hair debacle. I've rambled about that before but that's not what those commenters are talking about. They just don't like how it looks. They hate it, in fact.

SO, narrative aside, if we look at it just aesthetically, I CANNOT comprehend someone considering this "ruined"

What is your happiest memory?

hmmmm i have a couple that are very close to my heart that i feel need to stay there. other than that, i have a lot of happy memories with my mum that i don’t think i could put in order, and very recently of course my coming out to friends, colleagues and my family that went so so so well and i‘m really thankful to everyone bc i didn’t expect everyone to be so supportive and accepting and absolutely lovely about it 🥺
