Blue-collar Simon with a frugal girlfriend. I am absolutely projecting onto this rn lmao.
A sweet little thing with a taste for shiny stuffy and pretty clothes, but an even bigger taste for money. It took one look at her from across a Chick-fil-a, witnessing her glancing over her shoulder as she grabbed a handful of sanitizing wipe packets and stuffed them into the side-pocket of her purse, for him to fall in love and ask her out right then and there.
Got him to cut down on smoking when she pointed out that a single pack of cigarettes—ten dollars—is the same price as a Costco pizza that could feed them for a minimum of two days. He doesn't quit completely, but does so less frequently and favors bumming smokes off of coworkers.
Always complains about him having a truck and how the miles per gallon is so bad. Keeps track of how much they could've saved if his pickup didn't take up so much gas. Diesel, at that.
"You know I need the flatbed for work, dove."
"You could honestly just get a car with a good MPG and hitch a trailer on the back."
He almost laughs, but swiftly shuts his mouth when he realizes that that's actually not that bad of an idea. It would make loading and unloading supplies easier, and it wouldn't force so much weight onto his rear axle.
Sixth sense for sales. Avid user of coupons. Always knows what places offer which discounts that they qualify for. Clearance aisles are the go-to. Knows when happy hour is everywhere. Avoids more expensive stores (aka Target) like the plague. Has not paid for a single piece of produce in her life; all veggies are grown by hand.
Loves to go to stores, but rarely buys anything. Simon tags along and gags at price tags with her. They both consider this a date.
On actual date nights, reader makes it clear that she does not care for gourmet restaurants or their dogshit food. Homeboy almost dropped to his knee right then and there. Peak of fanciness is Olive Garden. And even then, it's only at the location where she knows the manager from high school so they can get a discount.
In truth, they both prefer simple dates where it's just the two of them, like stuffing pillows and blankets into the back of his truck and ordering takeout while watching a movie on his laptop. She's creative, too, and Simon couldn't be more ecstatic about it. He's got his girl, food, his truck, a barely-tapped wallet, and his lil wifey bae is happy. What more could a man want?
She dresses real cute, which often has Simon wondering where she gets her clothes bc she almost never gets things when they go shopping together.
"Those new?"
"The pants? Yeah. They were like... seven dollars, I think."
"Where'd you get those for seven?"
"Shein."
"Ah."
Yeah she does not give a single shit about name brands. If it looks good, feels good, and is cheap—it's hers. Could not care less about Nike n shit.
Simon ofc feels a little bad about not being able to spoil her, but lemme tell you when money is an object—it is very much preferred that it be regarded as such. There is nothing more attractive than a financially responsible man.
In the beginning of their relationship, Simon once tried to be that guy and got her an accessory that she'd been admiring. It was pretty, but all broke girls will understand when I say that the want for something DIES if it's overpriced. Gone. As if it were never there. So he was a little shocked when he surprised her with it a few weeks later and her face dropped. Like genuine existential dread just plastered on her face, clear as day.
She told him that she really didn't want it after she saw how expensive it was, but he insists that she deserves a few luxuries. Only problem is, he begins to notice how overwhelmed with guilt she becomes when she sees it. She hardly ever wears it, and she really doesn't mean to be dismissive of Simon's generosity—but she just can't help but feel buyer's remorse any time she remembers it exists. It makes her feel terrible, and all she can think about is how much better the money for it could've been spent. When Simon realizes that and returns it, it's like a weight is lifted from her shoulders. Gave him THE sloppiest head that night. Besides, she prefers Simon's pearl necklace more than any other piece of jewelry.
He's smart enough now to know that money really doesn't buy her happiness. She's so perfectly content with her way of life. It also reassures him that she wouldn't ever entertain the idea of opting for a man with money to waste. Not when she's found someone who gets her and her reluctance of spending like Simon does.
absolutely adores a financially responsible girl! doing everything you can to make sure you two can live comfortably
watches you note down recipes that you can batch make and freeze to save money, no wastage in this household! simon will never complain when you say its leftovers for dinner
he's just such a simple man but in the best way possible. nothing gets him harder than walking into the kitchen to see you cutting up vouchers for the groceries
except maybe watching you haggle with someone. he took you to a market once and watched you talk a vendor down from £50 to £10 when he pointed out a hoodie that he liked
fucked you so good that night you walked funny for days <3
used to smoke straights but when you told him how much cheaper it is to roll his own cigarettes, he hasn't looked back since
IKEA dates. loves walking hand in hand with you around the large store, talking about how you're gonna decorate the house he's gonna buy you someday
doesn't miss the little smile that flicks across your face when he shakes his head at the bookcase you point out,
"£100? I can make you tha' for half the price, lovie..."

it's you!! the one that made that verneider fic!!! i enjoy your fics and curious about something so i gott ask. what's your headcanons on schneider?
Vague, but yes, I write verneider stuf haha. I really appreciate and glad people like my work! (if you're actually referring to my fics like TWTR) And on the subject of headcanons...
SLAMS TABLE
You have no idea what you're asking for, anon. I'll literally go FERAL here for you asking this of me. I can go on forever talking about my personal headcanons for Schneider. And that's assuming whether or not you wanted headcanons of Schneider in general or for TWTR!Schneider. So, I'll compromise.
Normal Text is headcanons applying to both Italic mainly applies to Schneider Bold mainly applies to TWTR!Schneider
List of a "few" headcanons below.
Schneider is a good singer. Being told by her parents to go to church regularly, she'd also be encouraged to participate in church activities with her sisters like choir duty.
She's knowledgeable in botany. Growing up in an orchard, she picks up useful experience in taking care of plants, mainly fruits.
Schneider smokes and drinks. Mafia life gets her to pick up shady habits in her early days to relieve stress.
She taught herself how to use a gun. First gun she got was owned by her late father. The first time she ever had to use it is out of self-defense.
Schneider first killed someone at age 11.
Schneider's an adept learner. She shows signs of being responsible and understanding of the given situation at a young age, making her easily flexible. When it's beneficial or necessary to pick up a skill, she'll quickly learn and apply it into practice to be more efficient.
She's a skilled cook. Wandering around doesn't mean ignoring what you eat. Candies and energy bars won't do for a gourmet like her. She's equipped with years of knowledge and experience to feed even an entire army of picky eaters.
Schneider's favorite fruit is Sicilian Blood Orange.
Schneider didn't get a proper education. She knows how to read and write well enough, but she's taught herself how to speak English for survival.
She's greedy, but frugal. In her later years, Schneider grows to have a lavish and sophisticated taste in fashion and food, but always aims for practicality (buying cheap fake pearls because it's shiny enough and keeps the scent of oranges on her). She only splurges on family necessities and "business" resources.
Schneider is good in finances. In a struggling economy with 20 mouths to feed, she's learned to calculate the expenditures well.
Liberal in mind, conservative at heart. She's designed to be based on the American 1920s flapper girl scene where it's commonly viewed at the time as "going against the standard perception of young women" at the time. Yet, while Schneider filled into that role out of necessity to be her family's backbone (and it fits her personality better), at heart, she is still a young girl raised under conservative Christian values. Even if the possibility is no longer there, Schneider still dreams of someday marrying for love (man or woman doesn't matter to her), starting a family, and maybe be a sweet loving housewife to someone.
Hesitant leader, rebellious follower. Schneider has a complicated view of authorities, mainly the government. She's resistant and even disdainful towards blindly following higher power without questioning their motives, but knows when to lower her head for the time being. With this view, Schneider isn't interested in the leader position nor does she want to order an entire group of people to do her bidding if she really can help it.
Schneider doesn't lie. In a cruel world full of deception, the last thing she wants is to be a liar herself. She doesn't consider "lying by omission" as lying; merely stalling for time before she has to say it out loud. Her favorite tactic to avoid having to admit it openly too soon is to divert the subject or make cryptic, playful jabs. It's not lying if you never answer, after all~
She finds it hard to ask for help openly. With her background, showing any admission of weakness is a gateway to risking her loved one's life, so she finds more creative way to get the help she needs through subtle cajoling or manipulating the conversation to get the other person to engage willingly about the information she needs. Only time Schneider would ever ask help first is a matter of life and death of others rather than herself.
Schneider has a complex relationship with religion. She doesn't inherently denounces the practice, as she's lived her whole life with it, but she's jaded by it. Her shaky mindset about God and religion has led her to being she's a sinner and the reason she and her family have fallen on hard times with no salvation. Maybe if she was a better daughter...
Faith in you is belief to me. Schneider, even with many qualities of an arcanist, is still human biologically. She can't see or hear things most arcanists can, but she feels them. If her eyes and ears fail her, she places faith in those she trusts to be her guiding light.
Family over everything. Italian or no, Schneider will do anything for those she loves and considers "family." She'll place their comfort over herself and will do what she can to protect them. Even with her own life.
She loves collecting feathers. From doves to pigeons, any feather of any kind or color. It's a small hobby she holds dear in her heart.
Schneider likes watching movies, mainly the cheesy romance and slasher horror genre. Ever since finding out about "talkies" and the existence of "giallo" films, she likes to collect and binge watch all sorts of shows late at night.
Curious in the arcane. Her deepened fascination to immerse herself in the arcanist lifestyle has her become very knowledgeable in many arcane practices on a basic level. If she can't be a professional in one, might as well just be decent in all.
Schneider has a large gun collection. She takes care of it and maintains them well.
Playful business. It's hard for most to identify whether Schneider takes work seriously or not. She defaults to her usual teasing personality whether it's a risky job or a simple task. Only when the situation has her comrades at risk does she stop playing around and take things more seriously.
Selfishly selfless. It's already been shown many times in previous headcanons, but Schneider's selfless to a fault in the sense she'd do everything for her loved ones. She only gets involved and looks out for others with her best interest (and her "family") in mind. The best way you can get her on your side is to be friends with her family. (or threaten her with their life)
We win or we die. Schneider is no gambler, but when she does, she games with her life. She's long known the worth of her soul and will lay it down for any opportunity to win all odds. (to the benefit of her loved ones) Even so, there remains a heart that yearns to live.
I'll stop there since it's getting too long, haha. But yeah, I have a lot of headcanons for Schneider. Bbygirl's got so much potential and so much layers as a character. I love her so much.

I find it hilarious that I first learned about sweet omelets from a mystery novel¹ where the murderer used one to poison someone. Like, they're delicious but seem to have dropped out of the US culinary repertoire, and here's how to kill someone with one. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Annnnyyywaaayyyyy....
This morning I made an omelet with apricot jam and apricot-mango yogurt. Normally I would use sour cream instead of yogurt, but the sour cream was looking...hey, I wasn't trying to poison anyone, so the yogurt seemed safer. It was lovely and seemed appropriate to Easter and/or a sunny morning in springtime.
(And my mother, whose appetite has been suffering, ate all of her omelet, half a deli slice of ham, and the leftover apricot-mango yogurt! This is more calories than I've gotten into her in a single meal in weeks.)
The recipe is basically "Make an omelet, but replace the savory spices in the egg mixture with vanilla extract and a bit of sugar. Top with dollops of yogurt/sour cream and apricot jam. Fold over and serve.". The Frugal Gourmet is where I learned to make omelets.

What do you think are some good gifts for agent friends?
I guess it depends who I am in this scenario?
Like, if I'm a client giving a gift to my agent (which isn't necessary or expected, but I'm a gift-type person, so hey!) -- a token or treat that is either somehow related to my book OR is a "local specialty" of where I'm from would be nice. If I was an illustrator, a piece of art would be lovely.
If I'm me, an agent, giving a one-off to a colleague/friend, well, I'd give them whatever I would give them if they weren't an agent? Like, a personal gift that I know they'd like because I'm friends with them? (a tarot deck or a cool crystal for the metaphysical girlie, some fancy vinegar or something for the foodie, gourmet dog treats for the one who is obsessed with her dog, ETC).
If I'm me, giving gifts to LOTS of colleagues and clients (like say, at Holiday time), I'd write them a nice card or e-card and do a donation in their name -- because if I'm sending out 50+ gifts, I'd rather spend $500 or so doing a donation somewhere that needs it than buy a bunch of cheap pieces of junk and ship them.
For my agency sisters, if I was feeling really *inspired*, I might do a SMALL, FLAT, EASY TO SEND gift that is the same for everyone in addition to a donation. Like one year I was obsessed with cashmere socks and got everyone that. One year I got everyone a super cute Phoebe Wahl tea-towel. That kind of stuff does really add up though!
Last year I decided to be more frugal and just do the card + donation, then put a cute sticker and a fortune telling fish that I changed to be agent-related in with their card. :D It was a hit!

“Flaunt your wealth all you want, but just know that the fortune to last you multiple lifetimes will hardly grant you satisfaction without a sense of accomplishment. Indeed, securing sufficient finances for the necessities such as food, shelter, and education is one thing, but using that as an excuse to idle the time away without lifting a finger is another. Especially if you use that same wealth to justify your poor treatment of those around you, specifically my brothers. Perhaps you ought to live a day in my shoes and see what it’s like to manage the manor firsthand. And I don’t say this to intimidate you or out of spite; I merely tell you this because I care for and love you more than anyone else.”

🧩 Ruki x Trust Fund S/O Headcanons 🧩
It’s frequently shown that Ruki is a rather frugal man, so to have a significant other who values money and uses it to judge who is worthy of her respect and who isn’t is something that he might often clash with.
However, he certainly doesn’t mind disciplining her for her obsolete mindset. After all, he too once learned the hard way that being classist can backfire if you take it too far. That said, he will educate the manners and courtesy into his significant other, starting with how she looks down on his brothers or refuses to work a day in her life.
Although that isn’t to say they don’t share their loving moments as well. Rarely would Ruki indulge in the luxuries of a wealthy life, but to unwind the couple may visit a high-end spa for leisure or onsen (hot spring) during the wintertime.
Ruki also finds it a fun challenge to replicate expensive gourmet foods using his own technique and more affordable ingredients just to impress her, and all the more better if she can’t even tell how “cheap” it cost for him to cook those meals.

July 9th is National Sugar Cookie Day
Tumblr media
Here Are Today’s Five Thing To Know About Cookies:
American cookie jars evolved from British biscuit jars and first appeared on the scene during the Depression in the 1930s when housewives began making more cookies at home, rather than buying them at the bakery, and needed containers for them.
Early American tinsmiths began making cookie cutters by hand back in the 1700s.
The U.S. has a National Cookie Cutter Historical Museum located within the Joplin Museum Complex in Joplin, Missouri.
In 1989, New Mexico named the ‘bizcochito’ its official state cookie. Bizcochito, derived from the spanish word ‘bizcocho’ which means biscuit, is a delicious shortbread cookie flavored with anise and topped with cinnamon sugar.
The U.S. leads the world as the biggest cookie bakers and eaters, spending more than $550 million annually on Oreos alone.
Follow To Explore The Foodie In You
Today’s Food History:
1766 Jacob Perkins was born. Perkins was issued the first U.S. patent for a refrigerating machine. It used sulfuric ether compression.
1792 S.L. Mitchell was named as the first Professor of Agriculture, at Columbia College, New York City.
1815 The first natural gas well in the U.S. was discovered by accident, near Charleston, West Virginia. They had been digging a salt brine well.
1850 U.S. president Zachary Taylor died. He supposedly developed peritonitis after eating too much of a new dessert treat, strawberry ice cream, at a 4th of July celebration.
1869 Henry Tibbe invented the corncob pipe. The pipe was made from a white kernel corn that was used to make taco and tortilla flour. (But can you roll a cigar with a taco wrapper?)
1872 John F. Blondel of Thomason (Thomaston?), Maine, patented the first doughnut cutter.
1887 John Dickenson introduced paper napkins at his company’s annual dinner.
1894 Percy Le Baron Spencer was born. Spencer developed the microwave oven in 1946, after he noticed that some chocolate in his pocket had melted after being accidentally exposed to radiation from a magnetron tube he was working on at the time.
1957 Actress Kelly McGillis was born. McGillis has a restaurant here in Key West, Florida called Kelly’s Place
1982 Diet Coke was introduced.
2004 Jeff Smith, TV’s ‘Frugal Gourmet,’ died at age 65

The earth is too small to eat alone
The original title The earth is too small for private dinner parties is an epilogue to a cookbook by The Frugal Gourmet.
I couldn’t find it online anywhere so I reproduced it in my FoodWiki as well as below.
The cookbook it’s from is available via Internet Archive.
Yes to eating and cooking together. “Private dinner parties” is strange phrasing — because I love gathering with small groups in private!
Read another way, it might be commentary that private dinner parties are too rich or fancy for what the earth can sustain. Also true, but not quite the point.
I am going to attempt more group cooking and eating in 2024.
I am always concerned when I see a person in the supermarket with a basket filed with private food. You know what I mean by private food, of course. Little packages of instant and prepared foods that indicate that this person intends to eat alone again tonight. We see a lot of this among the older members of our culture, and we always mumble something about being pleased with their sense of independence. It may not be independence. It may be simple loneliness.
The three ancient cultures that we have looked at in this volume did not, and do not, understand private eating. For one thing it was economically impossible to eat by yourself in the early days. The fuel for the kichen was too expensive, and the idea of living by yourself was unheard of. In America we claim that we value privacy and independence, and have therefore put a whole lifestyle on the market based on the ability to get along without anyone else. That is what private foods mean. We have sought a time of independence for everyone in our culture… and I am convinced that the result has not been pride in privacy, but rather an insight into the fact that privatude, in the end, offers only one thing—and that is loneliness.
Great food is not to be eaten by oneself. Eating privately is simply learning to sustain yourself, but dining is always done with other people. Please reconsider the plight of the people you know who live by themselves. Invite them in for a Roman dinner party, or for a Chinese or Greek dinner party. You and your children will be richer for it and your children will understand that the table is the proper place for sharing. And your guest? He or she, at the end of the evening, will give you a hug and say, “When can I come back?” That is what the ancient table was for… and what the table should be for in our time.
I bid you peace.

Unlocking Joy: The Allure and Reality of Free Gift Cards
In the era of digital rewards and online incentives, free gift cards have become the holy grail of savvy shoppers and budget-conscious consumers. From major retailers to niche online platforms, the promise of scoring these valuable vouchers is an enticing prospect.
Tumblr media
The Rise of Digital Rewards: Gone are the days when gift cards were solely purchased at checkout counters. The digital age has ushered in a new era of accessibility, where free gift cards are just a click away.
Online surveys, promotional campaigns, and loyalty programs have become the primary conduits for consumers to earn these coveted vouchers. Companies, eager to engage and retain their customer base, offer these rewards as a token of appreciation.
Click here to claim your FREE $500–$750 Gift Card now
Online Surveys: A Win-Win for Companies and Consumers One of the most common methods for obtaining free gift cards is through participating in online surveys. Companies seeking valuable insights into consumer preferences and behaviors often collaborate with survey platforms. In exchange for your time and opinions, participants are rewarded with points that can be redeemed for gift cards. This symbiotic relationship benefits both parties: businesses gain valuable data, while consumers enjoy the perks of gift cards without spending a dime.
Tumblr media
2. Promotional Campaigns: A Strategic Marketing Approach Promotional campaigns represent another avenue for snagging free gift cards. Businesses frequently launch giveaways, contests, or promotions to increase brand visibility and engagement.
Participants may be required to share content, refer friends, or perform specific actions to qualify for these rewards. While not every participant emerges victorious, the allure of potentially winning a free gift card adds an element of excitement to these marketing initiatives.
Click here to claim your FREE $500–$750 Gift Card now
Tumblr media
The Benefits of Free Gift Cards: The appeal of free gift cards extends beyond the initial thrill of obtaining something for nothing. Let’s explore the myriad benefits that come with these digital tokens of appreciation.
Flexibility and Freedom of Choice: Unlike traditional gifts, free gift cards empower recipients with the freedom to choose their preferred items or experiences. Whether it’s a shopping spree at a favorite retailer, a meal at a beloved restaurant, or a digital download, the flexibility offered by gift cards ensures that the recipient gets exactly what they desire.
Budget-Friendly Indulgence: Free gift cards provide a guilt-free way to indulge in life’s little luxuries without straining the budget. Whether it’s treating oneself to a new book, upgrading a wardrobe, or enjoying a gourmet meal, these vouchers allow for guilt-free spending, making them a welcome addition to any frugal shopper’s arsenal.

Tumblr media
Motivation for Consumer Engagement: From the perspective of businesses, offering free gift cards as rewards becomes a powerful tool to motivate consumer engagement. Whether it’s encouraging survey participation, social media sharing, or repeat business through loyalty programs, the promise of a tangible reward serves as a compelling motivator for consumers to interact with and support a brand.
2. The Potential Pitfalls: While the allure of free gift cards is undeniable, it’s crucial to approach these opportunities with a discerning eye. Not all avenues are equally trustworthy, and some potential pitfalls merit consideration.
Scams and Phishing Attempts: In the quest for free gift cards, individuals may encounter scams and phishing attempts. Fraudulent websites or emails may promise gift cards in exchange for personal information or payment. It’s essential to verify the legitimacy of any offer and avoid sharing sensitive details with untrustworthy sources.
Tumblr media
Time Investment: Participating in surveys or promotional campaigns to earn free gift cards requires an investment of time. While the rewards can be lucrative, individuals should weigh the value of their time against the potential benefits. It’s important to choose opportunities that align with personal interests and provide a reasonable return on investment.
Limited Options: Not all free gift card opportunities offer a wide range of options for redemption. Some programs may limit users to specific retailers or products. Before investing time in earning points or participating in a promotion, it’s advisable to ensure that the available redemption options align with personal preferences.
Tumblr media
3. Conclusion: Free gift cards represent a modern and enticing avenue for consumers to enjoy the perks of shopping, dining, or entertainment without the financial commitment. The digital landscape has transformed the way these rewards are earned, with online surveys, promotional campaigns, and loyalty programs offering a plethora of opportunities.
While the benefits are numerous, individuals should navigate this space with caution, being mindful of potential scams and considering the time investment required. When approached thoughtfully, free gift cards can add a touch of joy to everyday life, making them a valuable and accessible commodity in the digital age.

Why is it that most of these assholes are STILL not being held accountable? Why is that most of these assholes are STILL getting jobs?
Seriously, the only 4 people on this list who were rightfully held accountable and found guilty and who are serving jail time are: Danny Masterson, Harvey Weinstein, Josh Duggar, and Larry Nassar. Everyone else is literally still getting employed, being found not guilty, or, in Bill Cosby's case, getting out of prison after only a few years.
What the flying fuck happened? After the allegations were made and denying statements were given in response, that was it? That was the end of it? It was as if nothing had happened?
Oh, and notice how many other celebrities, dead or alive, are missing from this list:
Mark Schwahn
Masashi Tashiro
Jim Fitzpatrick
Stoney Westmoreland
Todd Grimshaw
Carlos Cruz
