not to sound like a peterick stannie but what songs (if any) do u think are about patrick
i dont think pete writes songs specifically about one thing ever, usually they mean many things to him, but these are songs that make me think of patrick or hes said are about patrick
what a catch donnie obviously is partially about patrick, as pete has said
"from now on we are enemies" is also about patrick as pete has said
ive always interpreted miss missing you as about ashlee and i do think its somewhat about ashlee, but the music video makes it about patrick which i think is cute. petes said during the hiatus period of his life he lost his wife, his best friend, and his job and often groups it all together, so i think elements about patrick are probably in that one
twin skeletons is widely considered the peterick song, largely because of the 100% fictional roof rumor that everyone believes for some reason, but i honestly dont think the *song* is about patrick, however i think the believers never die *art* for the song is about pete and patrick
kids arent alright is pretty obviously about patrick and the band imo
theres this really cute track of evening out with your girlfriend called "the worlds not waiting for five tired boys in a worn out van" and its obviously about their love for the band and each other and it is so adorable, idk if pete wrote it though as that was during patricks brief lyricist era
wilson makes me think of patrick, largely because a lot of people ive spoken to who were like on the fringes of it all back in the day have said patrick ran around cleaning up petes messes and sort of just followed in his wake apologizing and making excuses for his behavior and smoothing things over and mediating everything
heavens gate also reminds me of patrick for the above reasons as well
young and menace has a lot of themes of being fused with someone, and while i dont think it strikes me as A Patrick Song for some reason, that aspect definitely reminds me of how he describes his relationship with patrick
bishops knife trick seems to reference chicago and their beginnings a lot
some songs, like "just one yesterday" and "snitches" and even "our lawyer" to an extent come back to this idea of corrupting innocence very violently and ive always interpreted that as both pete referring to his younger self as well as how the industry chews up and spits out young talent and how hes a participant in that. which would include patrick imo as patrick was only 16 and pete was 21
likewise other songs like "our lawyer" and "young volcanoes" are largely about the band but include patrick
i saw a funny tiktok interpreting "i dont care" as about the bands creative differences and pete and patrick bickering a little during folie era before they went on hiatus, but actually the song is sort of the opposite, and this is a cute pete-patrick quote ive never seen before from patrick:
""The day I wrote it, I didn't feel it, I wasn't there. And [Pete] was like 'You don't understand how good this is, you don't understand,' and then a day later, I was like, 'I'm really glad I wrote that song, cause now it's one of my favorites,' but he had to talk me into it and take me off the bridge, and that's kind of the thing with the band."
also fun fact! this isnt fall out boy but awsten knight and pete wentz are friends and awsten got his blessing for "you had your own pete wentz and patrick combined"

Best Friend [ luke hemmings ]
surfer!luke au | pt.1 | word count: 5,222 | masterlist
Tumblr media
If anyone had been your bestest friend in your life so far, it was definitely Luke Hemmings.
Since day one, when you ran into him looking at skateboards in your friend's store not far from Venice Beach, you've been somehow cosmically tethered to him.
What started out as an offer to help him pick a board and learn to skate, him telling you he's always been more of a surfer than a skater, soon turned into hanging out without your respective boards, going to shows together, being at the same parties, both of you being on your friend Michael's exclusive dinner party guest list, basically, you guys hit it off.
After hanging out with Luke more over time, you learned that he had moved to California after dropping out of university in Sydney, not happy with the path he could see his life was on and following his passions instead, which led him to the same place it led you when you left your hometown, California.
You had been one of the first true friends Luke had made after his big move, and even though you told him to lay off, he would often remind you that you were the one to help him settle into the life he has now, your friend group quickly adopting him not long before he ending up running the surf section of your friend's shop that you'd met him in all those years ago.
It started out like any normal day for you, getting up, getting ready, and heading to your job at the cafe you'd been working at for a few years now. It didn't take you long to make friends, evident by the way people greeted you like an old friend as they came in for their morning coffees or lunch break meals. You were a generally sociable person, and enjoyed the daily interaction with the regulars and new customers that would come through the doors.
It was just a little after the lunch time rush that Luke came strolling in the door, knowing well how busy you would be at the peak of rush hour.
"Afternoon handsome, what can I getcha?" You ask with a grin, leaning forward and putting your elbows on the counter to prop your head up on your fists as you looked to him.
Luke lets out a laugh as he copies your pose, him having to bend down a lot more because of his height, the small space of the counter meaning you were pretty much face to face with him.
"Coffee and a apple cinnamon muffin please, knucklehead." He responds, his accent all over the place as normal.
You give a nod and slap the counter as you push yourself up, walking to the espresso machine on the bench behind you.
"Michael came in today." Luke announces, still leaning on the counter.
"How is he?" You ask, scraping off the coffee grounds to make it level and putting it in to brew before turning back around to see him.
"Good, we've got dinner with him on Friday."
You raise your eyebrows with a nod, pleased at the news.
It wasn't unusual for you or Luke to make plans involving the other without them there, your friends joking you've been a package deal as long as you've known each other. Besides, how could you be upset considering Michael's food was involved?
"What's the theme this time?" You ask curiously.
Since Michael had become an apprentice chef at a local restaurant, he had been hosting dinner parties for his friends every couple weeks, his vegan cooking some of the best you'd ever had. To spice things up a bit, he started giving each night a theme, everyone showing up dressed in costumes to fit. It was one of your favorite nights of the week when it came around, and you were already excited at the thought of this Friday.
"Pina Colada, the song. Apparently dress code is hawiian shirts and lei's at the door." He says with a laugh.
You hold your tongue as you put the lid on his coffee, placing it on the counter in front of him.
"Go on, say it, I know you wanna." He sighs with a smile on his face.
"So are you looking forward to finally getting lei'd?" You ask with a sly smile on your face as you grab the apple cinnamon muffin from under the glass cover beside the till.
He groans dramatically, but his grin still covers his face. For the whole time you'd known Luke, while he had been on a couple dates here and there during your friendship, he hadn't been in an actual relationship since you met. Neither had you, the reason unknown to him, but it did mean you would casually poke fun at each other because of it.
"You're really on fire today y/n/n." You roll your eyes as you hand Luke his muffin and coffee, ringing up his order.
"You try getting sleep while Calum and a special guest is in the next room." You say with a raised eyebrow.
Getting what you mean, Luke laughs, putting his hand on your shoulder and giving it a supportive squeeze.
"You're a stronger person than I am. But if you do want a break, my door is always open."
You smile at him, letting out a light sigh as you pat his hand, thankful for his offer.
"I appreciate it. Now go get back to work before Sierra kicks your ass." You smirk, referring to your other best friend, and his boss.
"See ya later, sweetheart." He says with a wink, picking up his food and walking towards the door.
"Will do, darlin'." You smile.
Feeling her presence behind you, you roll your eyes as you can practically already hear her comment.
"You guys are cute together." Ali, your workmate and committed work wife says as she returns from her own lunch break.
"Ma'am." You say in a warning tone, and she brushes you off with a light laugh.
"What? I'm right."
"Yeah, you are." You think to yourself.
With Ali back, you busy yourself grabbing a muffin, before you turn to walk out back and take your own lunch break.
After replying to texts and watching too many tiktoks while you ate, you went back out front until closing, where Ali offered to shut up shop so you could get home a little earlier since she lived closer than you did.
After thanking her so many times she broke and finally told you to fuck off, you offered to return the favour whenever she needed it and made your way back to the apartment you shared with Calum.
Calum was like a brother to you. Him being a year older and around you basically since you moved to California, as not only did you end up having the same friend circle, but his sister Mali was also your boss, being the owner of the cafe.
Sighing in relief as you pull your keys and lanyard out of your pocket, you unlock the door to your apartment and quickly regret it when you hear loud moans and banging coming from Calum's room yet again.
With a frown already set on your face, you refuse to put up with another night of disrupted sleep, putting your airpods in and turning them up before venturing down the hallway to your room.
Pulling one of your bigger bags from your closet, you set to work putting some things together in a makeshift overnight kit. Grabbing a couple outfits you could wear to work tomorrow depending on your mood and the weather, as well as all your other basic items, you write a post it note message for Cal, still being able to hear the sound of the action in his room over Awsten Knight loudly trying to drown it out.
"Safe sex or no sex, you two!!" You call out as you stick the note to his door.
You collect the last of what you'd need from the bathroom, before walking out and locking the front door again behind you.
The walk between your place and Luke's wasn't that bad, it's close proximity being one of the selling points to you when you and Calum were first looking for somewhere new after your last lease ended.
You already knew that Luke would be home at this time, him finishing an hour and a half before you and spending most of that time at the beach until it passed golden hour, which was just fading as you walked out of your apartment.
Climbing up the exterior steps that lead to his apartment unit, you could already see the light on through his window, his silhouette being framed for a moment as he walked past it letting you know he was home.
Readjusting the bag over your shoulder, you step onto the "welcome" doormat you brought him as a housewarming present, knocking twice, then once, then three times.
It only takes a second for you to hear his footsteps coming towards the door, and as he opens it, a smile appears on his face as he realises who it is.
"Hey stranger." He greets with a slight grin, but you could see he was slightly confused about why you'd shown up.
"Hey, do you ah, is that offer still on the table?"
Luke's face softens as he remembers what he told you earlier in the day, raising an eyebrow.
"He was at it again huh?" He asks, and when you nod, he shakes his head as he steps aside, letting you in.
"Of course the offer is open, but you are gonna have to help me cook dinner."
You smile as you look up at him while you pass through into his apartment.
"Sounds like a plan to me." You laugh happily, making yourself at home and dropping your bag at the end of the couch as you hear Luke shut the door behind you.
Turns out veggie stir-fry is on the menu for the night, one of your favorites. You both take a knife and chopping board each, chopping up ingredients and adding them to the fry pan before Luke takes it to the stove to get the garlic and onion started while you get going on the carrots and bok choy.
You and Luke move around each other easily, naturally. You'd been in his kitchen enough times to know where everything was, and even with music playing from the corner covering the sound of your movements, you both seemed to know where each was the whole time.
Taking a deep breath and inhaling the gorgeous scent of the cooking food, you lean up against the counter, crossing your arms casually and looking over to Luke.
He stood with spatula in hand, moving the food around while slightly swaying to the music. You felt a small smile come to your face, getting to admire him for a minute while he was distracted with the food in front of him.
There was a part of you that very much wanted to ignore and deny the warm feeling that would bloom in your chest around Luke, but an even bigger part of you that knew it was pointless to even try.
The feeling wasn't a stranger to you, in fact you'd been living with it nearly since the day you'd met him, even though it was a lot less back then, the seed was still planted.
But, you knew that the feeling would remain just that, a feeling. At this point in your life, you couldn't imagine what you'd do if you lost Luke. While yeah, he was your best friend, and you would regularly flirt with each other casually, there was still part of you scared that if you did let him in on the secret you hadn't told a soul, you would lose him completely. You knew the possibility of losing him was there no matter what, but you'd be damned if it was gonna be because of something you had done.
A change in song brings you back to reality, and your eyes snap to the ground, clearing your throat before speaking.
"So how have you been? We haven't caught up in a minute."
With summer fast approaching, this was peak season for Sierra's store, meaning you'd been missing out on both of your best friends lately to tourists and hobbyists coming out of hibernation.
Luke shrugs slightly, looking to you for a moment with a perplexed expression.
"It feels like we get busier every year, which I'm not complaining about at all, but it's just…. draining I guess." He sighs.
Frowning, you turn towards him more, waving slightly to let him know it's okay to keep going if he wants to.
"I end up missing things more than usual. Sleep mainly." He says with a hint of humor to his voice and a small smile on his face. "And the sea, and you, and the guys. All my favourites."
Never really being one to comfort with words, you place a supportive hand on his, as it rests on the counter beside the stove, propping him up as he stirred with the other hand. You let your thumb brush over the back of his hand, understanding exactly what he meant.
Luke smiles as he looks down, wordlessly moving his hand slightly so he can hold onto yours.
You ignore the way your heart skips a beat as you look up from your joined hands to his face, a kind smile on yours as you speak.
"We're not going anywhere hun. I know I won't be." You say softly, clearing your throat as you realise there's a small chance he could read into the last part of your sentence. "I'm pretty sure the sea isn't going anywhere either." You add on quickly.
Luke takes a deep breath, his gaze lingering on you for a moment before he laughs, turning his attention back to the food as you slip your hand away from his.
"Yeah, good point."
You nod, holding your hands together in front of you and looking down at your socked feet against the tile of the kitchen floor.
"Hey, uh, can you grab some plates? I think we're nearly ready to go here." Luke asks casually, diffusing the tension you could feel had built in the room.
You agree with a nod, moving around the kitchen and collecting together what you'd need. While Luke dishes up, grabbing you both drinks as well, you grab some cutlery and place mats for the table, setting them out and helping Luke carry everything the couple feet journey from the kitchen to the table before sitting down, taking a quick picture of your combined efforts before picking up your fork.
You both dive into the meal, singing your praises to his cooking skills as you complement the food in front of you. You smile as you see Luke turn a slight shade of pink as you do.
Distracted by your conversation, your empty plates sit on the table beside you as Luke pokes fun at you for what happened on some random day you'd mostly forgotten, one where you both had ended up nearly getting your friend group kicked out of a club a few months ago.
You're both laughing as you recall the details when Luke's phone starts vibrating closer to the edge of the table, him quickly catching it before it can fall.
"Shit, I'm meant to be calling my mum in ten minutes." He frowns, mad at himself for losing track of time.
"Okay. You get set up, I'll do the dishes, you should be good to go in ten if you start now." You say, jumping into action and stacking the dishes as he looks up to you to protest.
"You don't have to do the dishes, I'll just stack them and get to them later." He fights, but quickly loses the battle when you point to him, then his laptop, silently instructing him to get going.
He looks at you defiantly before deeply sighing and getting up, grabbing his laptop and setting it up on the other side of the open plan room on the coffee table in front of the couch.
"You're too good to me." He sings while he does as he's told, you smiling to yourself as you run the water.
"Enjoy it while it lasts." You sing back.
The familiar chime of the Skype call ringtone emanates from the other side of the room, and you look over to see a bright grin covering Luke's face as the call connects.
Luke loved his family, and especially his mum. You knew he would still go through bouts of homesickness from missing them, which is why you knew any contact he did have with them was extremely important.
"Hey mum." Luke grins.
"Hi bub, how are you?" You hear his mum ask though the speakers.
You do your best to zone out of the conversation, wanting to give him privacy. Instead, you focus on the music still playing in the corner, though it's playing more softly than before.
Doing your best to stay quiet, your ears perk up as you hear your name from across the room.
Realizing it came through the speakers instead of from Luke, you fight your better judgment and try to eavesdrop, having no success when Luke starts to talk a lot quieter.
Why would Luke's mom ask about you? Sure you were best friends, but you didn't see yourself as that important.
Lost in your thoughts, you lose your grip on the plate in your hand, flinching as it drops back into the sink with a loud clattering noise.
"Are you okay?" Luke asks, bolting up with a concerned look on his face, ready to help in an instant.
Looking in the sink, you see the plate still fully intact and nod as you take a deep breath.
"Yeah it's all good, just lost my grip." You explain, giving him a thumbs up.
He examined you for a moment before sitting back down with his laptop, but instead of picking up where he left off, you hear his mom asking who that was, referring to you.
"Y/n is staying over, loud roommate issues." He explains with a slight laugh.
"Why are you hiding her?! I want to see the pretty girl I've heard so much about." You hear her reply, your cheeks growing pink as you do your best to smother a laugh at the light telling off he was getting.
Looking over to Luke, he raises his eyebrows at you, silently asking if you wanted to come over and say hi. Looking between him and the laptop, you silently mouth "you sure?" to him, receiving a small smile and a nod in return.
You dry your hands on a kitchen towel hanging on the oven door, nervously wringing your hands as you walk over to the couch, sitting down beside Luke and waving to the webcam.
"Hi Mrs. Hemmings, it's nice to finally kinda meet you." You smile as you laugh slightly.
"Nice to meet you too love! Luke's told me a lot about you, all good things I promise." She laughs lightly. Even through a screen, you could feel the warm nature of the woman who'd raised your best friend, though it did make sense his mom would be a sweetheart if he was.
"I'm glad to know I've made such an impact." You bump your elbow into Luke's arm, his head down as he laughs to himself, blonde hair falling over his face. "I promise Luke's done the same for you. I probably don't have to tell you how family proud he is."
His mom smiles, a sense of pride about her for a moment before she looks to the side of the screen where Luke would be.
"You wouldn't be able to tell with how he's trying to hide now." She teases, Luke shifting sideways so he's more in frame, your shoulders and knees now touching.
"I thought mums had to be nice to their kids in front of their friends?" He asks with squinted eyes.
"I don't remember that being a rule. Besides, you don't have the same accent I remember my son having so I'd say it's fair game."
"That's because I spend too much time with this one." Luke says, nodding his head towards you.
"Excuse me?" You say with a raised eyebrow. Luke just smiles at you, his teasing having the desired effect. You don't manage to hold onto your hard exterior for long, cracking and smiling back at him.
Liz laughs at the two of you, dispelling the moment as you both look back to her.
"Yeah we do spend a lot of time together." You say, Luke nodding in agreement as the three of you fall into easy conversation.
You end up staying for the whole video call, Liz asking you about your life, what you do, all the story details Luke had failed to tell her himself.
As you both say a lengthy goodbye, Luke promises to call Liz more between video calls, and you promise to keep an eye on him for her in the time in between those as well.
After closing his laptop, Luke leans back into the couch with a sigh.
"She likes you." He says quietly, looking over to you with soft eyes and a softer smile as you mimic his actions and lean back into the couch, turning your head to look at him.
"You think so?" You ask, just as quietly as he spoke.
He nods tiredly, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and pulling you into his side, his hand squeezing your shoulder as your rest your head against his.
Ever since Luke had hit end on the call, you felt a wave of tiredness wash over you, which you half blamed on the time, and half on stressing yourself out trying to make a good impression.
You can feel yourself falling asleep as you sit there, feeling comforted and comfortable as your breathing turns shallower, the scent of salt water and cologne clouding the front of your mind.
"We should probably go to bed." You suggest, right as Luke covers his mouth with his spare hand as a yawn escapes him.
"Good idea." He agrees.
He gives your shoulder another squeeze before you both get up, him moving to get you a blanket and pillow and you moving to get something to sleep in out of your bag.
Tiredly digging through, your hands pass your work uniform, toiletries, and a sweater, but not one of your old t-shirts you normally slept in.
Seeing the annoyed look on your face, Luke frowns slightly as he returns to the room.
"What's up?"
You groan as you sit back on your legs, gesturing to your bag.
"All I packed was my uniform for tomorrow and a sweater in case I got cold. I was in too much of a rush to get out of there I guess and didn't pack a shirt to sleep in." You frown, mentally scolding yourself.
"Hey, don't worry about it. You can just borrow one of my shirts." He says with a light shrug, like it's the obvious answer to the issue.
"Are you sure?" You ask, and he nods, placing the pillows and blanket down on the end of the couch.
"I'll go grab one and you can get dressed in the bathroom while I change in my room, then it's all yours." He says, and before he walks off, you call him back.
"What do you mean all mine?" You ask.
"You can have my room for the night and I'll take the couch."
You raise your eyebrow, standing up and crossing your arms.
"If you think I'm making you sleep on your couch in your own house then you obviously don't know me."
Luke sighs, well aware of your stubborn nature and already knowing he's fighting a losing battle.
"You must not know me if you think I'm gonna let you sleep on the couch." He responds.
You stare each other down for a minute, both of you not backing down on your point until you relax your face and stance, picking up your toiletries bag and shrugging.
"Guess we're sharing a bed then. I'm gonna go brush my teeth." You say casually, leaving Luke standing in the doorway of his bedroom open mouthed in shock.
As you stared yourself down in the mirror while you brushed your teeth, your internal monologue was punching you in the face repeatedly.
There’s a huge difference between passing out on the same couch together and actively choosing to sleep in the same bed together, and it was only one of those things you’d done with Luke in the past. Sure, there had been times where you had slept in Calum’s or Sierra’s beds, but with Luke, it had never been something to come up.
You remind yourself that it doesn’t mean anything. You and Luke are both grown adults, two stubborn grown adults, but adults all the same. You weren’t strangers to each other by any stretch, so you couldn’t figure out why the plan you’d put upon yourself made your heart beat a million times faster.
Little did you know, Luke was doing the exact same thing in the room over. As soon as you had stepped out of the room, his hands started to sweat. He was nervous, more so than he had been in a long while.
That was the thing that scared Luke the most about you, apart from the fact he’d seen you take down a man twice your size after getting cat called on Pasific Ave, was the special type of nervous that you made him without even trying. He knew the reason why it happened, not that he was willing to admit it to you, or anyone else but Ashton and his mom for that matter.
How was he meant to spend the night in the same bed as the girl he’s in love with, let alone fall asleep at all?
Mentally slapping himself in the face to make himself move, he pulls one of his favorite t-shirts from his closet, knowing that not only did you like it, but it was also one of the most comfortable things he owned.
To someone who hadn’t known Luke a while, they would be surprised to know how organized he is, clothing and home always organized just as well as the boards and gear he overlooked in Sierra’s store.
You rinse the toothpaste out of the sink, taking a deep breath as you hear Luke’s footsteps come closer. He knocks first, opening the door slowly just in case after you tell him to come in.
“Here, to sleep in. I know you like Guns n Roses.” He says with a cheeky wink as he hands you the shirt.
You scoff lightly as you take it, it being a running joke between you how much you disliked Guns n Roses, while he counted them as one of the all time greats.
“Thanks, you really know me.” You grin as you roll your eyes, lightly pushing him out of the bathroom and closing the door.
You hold the shirt up in front of you, looking in the mirror to see the difference in size between you and your best friend. While it fit normally on Luke, you could see it would graze your upper thighs, your height not all that different from his.
Taking your clothes off, you fold and stack them into a pile by the sink while you change your underwear and pull Luke’s shirt over your head, the smell of cologne and salt water hitting you again as you inspect yourself in the mirror.
Even though you had your reservations about the design on the shirt, you couldn’t deny it was one of the most comfortable things you’d ever worn.
Gathering your stuff, you open the bathroom door and walk back to your bag by the couch. Moving your uniform for the morning to the top, you put your old clothes in the bottom of your bag, calling out to Luke who must be in his bedroom.
“Bathroom’s all yours.” You call, zipping your bag again as you sit down on the couch to pull on your socks.
It was more out of habit than anything else, and consideration for the person you shared a bed with, knowing your feet always get freezing cold at night.
Luke walks out of his bedroom dressed in sweatpants and a black undershirt, pausing when he sees you. You see him take a deep breath in as you stand up, setting your bag back at the end of the couch again.
"Alright hun?" You ask, frowning slightly in confusion as he seems rooted to the spot.
He shakes himself out of it, nodding quickly before ducking into the bathroom. You stay in your spot, still confused as ever til his head pops out the door.
"You can head to bed if you like, I'll be there soon."
You nod as the door shuts again, ignoring whatever just happened as you walk to his bedroom, smiling at the sight of the glow in the dark stars you put up around the head of his bed still there from well over a year ago.
Walking over to what you could tell was the lesser used side of the bed, telling by just the lamp on the bedside table instead of the books piled on the other, you pull the bedding back, sliding between the cold sheets and letting your head fall back onto the pillow.
You let out a low groan as your body sinks into the bed, comfort washing over you as it felt like your bones sank back into the right place again after your long day.
As Luke walks back to the room, you're still lightly groaning, making him laugh as he shuts off the overhead light, walking into the room and shutting the door behind him.
"You okay there?" He questions, pulling back the bedding on his side and sliding in next to you.
"Your bed is so fucking comfortable."
Luke just laughs at you again, turning onto his side to look at you. You can feel him looking at you, so you decide to level the playing field and turn on your side too, your breath catching in your throat as you do when you realise your faces are now only inches away from each other.
You both just lay there, smiling softly as you unapologetically take in his features so close, the curve of his nose, his lips, the shade of his gorgeous blue eyes.
“Stop being cute.” He laughs, pulling your hair over your face.
"I will when you do too." You fire back.
Luke just slightly shakes his head, letting out a deep breath before leaning forward, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, lingering for a moment before pulling back.
"Goodnight, y/n." He sighs, and as your heartbeat rings in your ears, you slowly lean forward, returning the soft kiss to his forehead.
"Goodnight Luke."

Sex, Spongebob and sweaty hands: Inside the wild world of Waterparks fanfiction
By Marianne Eloise
Waterparks have a devout and imaginative fanbase – so asking them for fanfiction might seem like a recipe for chaos. But that's exactly what vocalist Awsten Knight has done with his podcast, Slumber Party
(May 1, 2020)
When I call Waterparks frontman Awsten Knight at 1pm, he hasn’t been awake for long. Since we spoke in February, the pandemic has changed things for everyone. Unsurprisingly, he’s a little less busy than usual.
Despite a familiar-sounding “descent into madness”, Knight’s getting through quarantine the same way as all of us: jigsaw puzzles, Animal Crossing and weighing up subscribing to streaming services. “It feels so wasteful. I was like, man, am I buying a fourth streaming thing? Per month? That seems irresponsible. Eh, fuck it. I’m home,” he laughs.
He’s also been doing DIY – namely deciding where to put his vision boards: “My place is very spacious and clean and the walls are white. I get nervous about putting too many things on the wall.”
Meanwhile, many of Waterparks' fans have been keeping themselves occupied with the latest season of Awsten’s podcast, Slumber Party. The premise is as ingenious as it is cringeworthy: Awsten and his friend Travis Riddle read out Waterparks fanfiction and rate it.
Travis, who Awsten calls a “grammar dude”, is a writer and editor with the credentials to give thorough feedback. Now in its third season, the podcast’s submissions are often erotic, making for awkward reading for its star. Even the PG ones make him shudder: “It’s literally Waterparks fanfiction. That is so gross and weird!” he laughs.
Awsten was innocent to the concept entirely until 2015, when he naively tweeted, 'I hope someday someone writes weird sexual fanfic about me and SpongeBob. That's what I want. These are my goals.'
“Someone wrote the most graphic thing about Spongebob in half an hour, and I was like – ‘never mind!’ That was my intro into fanfic,” he says.
Awsten’s fans often struggle with boundaries, and it seems counterintuitive for him to dip his toe into the murky pool of fanfic. But the idea originally came from him and Travis wanting to do something together: “The very first idea was to read the fanfiction and then talk about it and the validity of it and whether or not it could happen – which usually it couldn’t,” he laughs.
The current season was recorded last year, which Awsten is grateful for: “It’s already a struggle to keep your head right at home, he says. "If I had to read fanfiction all day, I wouldn’t be good!”
For season three, they’ve moved up in the world from Awsten’s bedroom to a set-up in a suite with a fireplace in Beverly Hills. He’s proud of the show’s quality, but ever the perfectionist, he’s looking to ramp it up: “I want to be like, on a horse in the next one,” he suggests – before adding that there’s the matter of financing a fleet of horses to think about. We brainstorm ways to get his Patreon subscribers to pay for it: “We will say your name while we’re on the horse and send you a video!”
He’s laughing, but there’s every chance he might go for it.
I ask Awsten whether he has a favourite submission. “No. Fanfic sucks, I hate it all, it’s all bad, I have no favourites,” he jokes, adding that what he does have is a handful of very least things he's received.
“There’s one where it was me but from every era with all these different colours of hair and then we all fuck each other," he says. "It was really weird. I hated that. I hate all the gross ones where they go over the top."
But his least favourite genre is slash, wherein he and his bandmates hook up: “There’s a lot of weird ones where Geoff and I are banging. I don’t like the ones where Geoff and I are banging, because he has sweaty hands in real life. If I’m getting hurt or Geoff is getting sweaty with his hands on me, then I don’t like those.”
There is something he can stand, though, which is stories with a paranormal twist. “They’ve had demonic stuff happen, there have been fairies, there have been magical horses. There have been a few possessions. They definitely get weird with it.” He adds that this season, they’re leaning into the paranormal with a spooky episode. “The ones that stick with me, the ones I like the most, are the paranormal ones. The haunted ones. There’s an episode in this season that’s not out yet where it’s all the scary ones and we turn out the lights and make it spooky”.
While some of his dedicated fans can be aggressive, many of them are creative in their adoration. Opening the floodgates to reams of fanfiction seems like a recipe for chaos. At first, Awsten and Travis sourced the stories themselves, but after creating an inbox for the podcast, they noticed a shift in the content. “In the next season when they knew they could submit stories, it was a skyrocket of insane, nasty stuff. They were just trying to be shocking so they could get on. We let a few of them go, but not all, because we didn’t want it all to be like: ‘and THEN he put his dick in a pencil sharpener!’”
In recent months, Awsten has been trying to stay offline, both to mitigate the negativity and avoid internalising too much input on his music: “If you tweeted or made songs or art or whatever for your most sensitive followers, you would have the most shitty, bland work ever,” he says. "That’s another reason to just stay away and focus on the reason they’re supposed to be there in the first place – which is what you make.
"Some people say they’ll like it either way, and I’m like, on the off chance they hate it, I want it to at least be something I really love, so I can be like, well, I like it.”
There’s one band in particular whose approach to focusing on their own goals Awsten admires: “Sometimes I wonder if certain things will get liked more in the future. Like the way when Folie à Deux, the Fall Out Boy album, came out, everyone just fucking hated it, but it’s so good,” he says. “But they don’t look back on their past like it’s their glory days, they’re moving forward and I love that. It would be so easy for them to spoon feed people Cork Tree over and over, but if they had done that, where would they be right now? It doesn’t feel trend-chasing, and I really appreciate that.”
He’s quick, however, to not draw too many comparisons: “We’re definitely not Fall Out Boy level so we’re not big enough to be hated that much,” he laughs.
Even when he’s not reading their fanfiction, Awsten has to manage his band’s relationship with a passionate fandom who often express their obsession inappropriately. When he’s so often on the receiving end of adoration, it’s easy to forget that he’s a fan himself. One upcoming episode of Slumber Party, which Awsten calls his “most difficult” to film, will feature Joel Madden of Good Charlotte.
“It’s not cute, because we always have fanfiction of the guests," he says. "It was the weirdest thing ever. I respect him so much. Trying to get him to read that, I was like...uhh.” His discomfort is genuine, and he jokes that whenever someone he admires follows him, he gets “self-conscious” and posts less dumb stuff.
It’s a gentle reminder that no matter how many fans someone has, they’re likely also a fan of someone they admire in a way that makes them feel awkward – it’s just a matter of whether they choose to log off or write fanfiction about it.

A/N- I know Valentine's Day is over but I was really busy with school and I had no chance to finish it
And it turned out really cute and I like it
Tumblr media
It's Valentine's Day
Awsten and you were roommates for almost two years now. None of you has a partner and honestly weren't interested in anyone. You were really close and liked each other a lot. You actually like him more than a friend but sadly you were to shy to ask him out. And if he'd say no it would be really weird for the both of you.
It was Tuesday which means 3 days before Valentine's Day and none of you had a valentine. You never talked about it so you didn't even cared if you have someone or not. You would be sitting in your room and would watch some cheesy teenage romcom movies while eating ice cream. Last year awsten wasn't at home because he met this girl but he went on a date with her just two or three times. You thought she was kinda sweet but a little bit dumb to be honest.
But this year it was different.
Both of you were sitting in the living room on your phones. Not speaking with each other or anything. But after a while the green haired boy broke the silence.
„Geoff is going to surprise his wife with a romantic wellness day on Friday. I think that's like really cute." he laughed and put his phone away.
„Hm? Why, what's on Friday?" you asked a bit confused.
„Valentine's day." he just said and stared against the floor. You could feel that he was nervous because he played with his rings and his leg was bouncing all the time.
„Ouh! I forgot. But yeah, that's really sweet. They definitely deserve a little bit alone time. Where is Farore gonna be?"
„I don't know. I guess by her grandparents? And he didn't asked us to take care of her." he laughed. „Uhm, are, are you going to do something on Valentine's Day?" Nervously he stared at you and hold his breath.
You shook your head and looked at him. Is he going to ask if you wanna be his valentine this year? I mean you wouldn't say no since you have a big crush on him. „Nah, and if, I would tell you." you answered and smirked.
„Maybe, maybe, do you wanna be my valentine this year? Like we could go to a fancy restaurant and then watch movies. Or at least we could spend some time together?" he asked very shy and almost scared of your reaction.
You giggled and could feel the heat in your cheeks. He was so cute and it's really nice that he asked you. „Awsten, of course I want to be your valentine." you said and pet his knee since you were sitting next to each other on the couch. Happily he started breathing again and had a cute smile on his face.
———————TIME SKIP————————
The last days you didn't talked about Friday evening. You just said to him that you don't have to go to a fancy restaurant or do something special but he told you he already made a reservation. He was really sweet and every time you are falling even more for him.
You got really close over the years of friendship and since you are roommates. You have your own little routine everyday. When you leave to work and he's still asleep -which is almost every time- you make him coffee and write him a little note on a post it. And when you come home from work and he's not there he leaves you one, too. Sometimes he tries to cook something for you, since you are extremely good at it and he always feels bad that you have to make the food, but he's not very talented at it. People ask you a lot why you are not in a relationship but you just laugh it awkwardly of. You really have a crush on him but sadly you are too shy and embarrassed to ask him on a „real" date.
Is this Valentine's Day thing even a date?
It was 5 pm as you got a text from him.
»I'm going to pick you up at 6
»Wear something nice like the red dress you bought
The last time you were shopping with him he forced you to buy this red dress you really liked. It was short, really tight and had a few lace ornaments on it. He even made you to try it on because you said you would look awful in it but then it fitted perfectly.
Honestly you wanted to look good today. Not as always like a bag of potatoes. You started to do your make up and finished 30 minutes later with a pretty good look. After you put the fake lashes on, you straightened your hair and tried to make a kind of messy ponytail but it didn't worked out pretty well so you just went with your hair opened.
Finally you were standing in front of the mirror looking like a snack. Now you started to panick a little and got really nervous. Of course you went out with him a few times but today it's really special.
Your phone made a sound and you got a message from Awsten.
»Are you ready? I'm waiting outside
                                             Yeah, I'm coming«
Nervously you put your shoes on, which were black pumps. You also grabbed your purse and put the last things in it. A last check in the mirror and now you opened the door to go outside of your apartment. You had to go downstairs and you could feel how weak your knees were.
What the hell is this boy doing to you?
Minutes later you opened the last door and saw Awsten leaning against his car. He raised his head and looked a you. A exited smile was on his face. Quickly he grabbed something behind his back and now he is holding a bunch of roses in his hand.
„Hey! These are you for you!" He grinned and gave you the flowers. „You look great! Like amazing!"
The blood was rushing to your cheeks and you could feel that they are bright pink now. He is so sweet.
„I didn't know you were such a hopeless romantic. But Thank you and I think you knew that I don't need things like that. But thank you. And you look also really good." you laughed and smelled the roses. They smelled amazing. And awsten looked really good today. He wore a black blazer and a white shirt under it. You never saw him like this and it made him even more attractive.
He helped you getting into the car and you put the flowers in the back seat. You were still kinda nervous but not that much anymore. Awsten jumped in and started to drive.
„You look really amazing. Like damn." he laughed and tried to make a conversation.
„Thanks. And thanks that you forced me to buy it." you giggled and looked at him.
His green hair was glowing because of the black blazer.
He asked about your day and you told him everything you did. Then he did the same. After a 20 minutes drive you stopped at a really expensive looking restaurant. You never saw it but it looked pretty nice.
He got out of the car and opens your door.
„Miss Y/L/N!" he reached out for your hand and you gave it him. Awsten gave someone the car keys who's job is it to park the cars. After that you walked in the restaurant still holding his hand.
„Good evening! How can I help you?" a butler greeted you.
„Hello, I made a reservation." Awsten answered.
„What's your name, sir?"
„Knight! Mr. Knight." he said. The butler searched and found his name on the sheet.
„And you are the girl he had to rescue?" the butler joked.
You just laughed and looked awkwardly to „your knight".
„This is the Seat. Another butler will come and take your order."
Awsten was a real gentleman tonight and helped you even with your chair. That's so unusual for him. Of course he's always really respectful and he had good manners but today he is giving his best. The restaurant was really fancy and looked way to good for you. The aesthetic was red and gold and everything looked so expensive. But both of you matched the vibes.
„Do you like it here?" he asked.
You nodded. „It's way too good for me." You chuckled.
The other butler came and ordered the drinks you wanted.
„If you want to drink a glas of wine or I don't know champagne, that's okay! I don't care." awsten said but you shook your head and ordered also a water. The butler gave you the menu and went away.
„I can't decide! Everything sound so delicious. But it's also hella expensive." you said while you was going trough the menu.
„You know what? First of all, the price doesn't matter and the second thing is, I'm going to choose what you eat!" he said. You rolled your eyes but at least you don't have to pick a dish.
The rest of the dinner was pretty chill. The food what Awsten ordered was really good and it couldn't be better. A few musicians played music and Someone even did a proposal. That was really cute.
„Let's Play a Game." you Said. „We have to guess what other people are talking about. I start!"
you picked an old couple.
„Bob, stop chewing with an open mouth. I don't want to see what you eat." you mocked the old lady.
„Margrett, why are you always picking on me?"
„We are married for over 50 years now and I told you a hundred times to stop doing it!“
„Doing what?"
Awsten started to laugh and you also giggled a lot.
„Okay, okay now it's my turn! Do you see this couple right there?" You nodded.
„Honey, what do you think the kids are doing now?"
„Darling, I told you to forget the kids. Today is our day."
„But they are so small!"
„They are not even alone-"
Awsten got interrupted by a butler.
„Since today it's Valentine's Day, every couple gets a free dessert." he said and put a good looking chocolate cake with some ice cream on our table.
We both said thank you and looked at each other.
„Wait, close your eyes!" awsten said and I did what he told me. After I few seconds he told me to open my mouth and he fed me with the cake. It tastes really good.
„Mmm!" you almost moaned because it tasted delicious. The cake was still warm and the ice cream made it even better.
Awsten also tasted it and closed his eyes. You watched him while he enjoyed the food. After he opened them again you were staring into each other's. It felt like the time stoped and only the two of you were there. You could see how his pupils widened and he started to smile.
„Uhm, yeah! It’s really good.“ he broke the moment and brought us back to the reality.
You cleared your voice and grabbed your own fork. Silently you shared your dessert.
What the hell was this? Can I get this again? The feeling was wild, you just zoned out and it was only you and him. You could feel the butterflies in your stomach and your whole body was feeling kinda fuzzy.
After we finished it and a butler came to get it, there was a uncomfortable silence.
„Uhm, you are not going to pay alone! We will split!“ you said and grabbed your purse.
„Nope! I will pay!“ he also grabbed his purse.
„But I don’t want you to pay everything alone.“
„But this date was my idea!“ he laughed.
HE SAID IT!
„A date?“ you chuckled. His cheeks turned bright red and he looked embarrassed away.
„I guess! I really like you, you know. And I thought this would be a good chance to, I don’t know, make it not that obvious.“ he explained and smiled shyly.
„You like me?“ you Said and giggled a little Bit.
He nodded and looked up into your eyes.
You grabbed his hand. „I like you too, awsten.“
Your faces where almost an inch apart from each other. He slowly came close to you until he finished the last part and you were kissing.
Your whole body was exploding and felt really fuzzy and sparkly. The feeling was amazing.
His lips were soft and his mouth tasted like chocolate.

Boring-tine Quarantine
request: @dangergays WHAT ABOUT AN AWSTEN KNIGHT ONE WHERE HIM AND THE OTHER PERSON ARE STUCK IN QUARANTINE TOGETHER AND THEY DO CUTE CHILDISH SHIT LIKE BUILDING PILLOW FORTS AND HAVING NERF GUN FIGHTS
a.n funny story.. I accidentally read the request but not the fort or nerf gun part. I wrote about it and randomly added those things cause I kept thinking about them. I just read the whole request and I think im psychic now. Anywho... enjoyc :))
Warnings: mild cursing
Word count: 1,355
It had been three weeks. Three weeks of being stuck in your shared apartment with your best friend Awsten. He had been in his little studio a lot more and you had been watching Disney movies to pass the time. It was official, you were bored. So, doing the only thing you could think of, you pushed yourself off of the couch and went to Awsten’s studio. “Hey, bubba are you busy right now?” You asked slowly opening the door.
“No bub, why what’s up?” He asked, calling you the nickname he gave you when you all met.
“Um… I’m just kinda bored right now and wanted to know if you wanted to do something..?” You replied regretting not thinking of an idea.
Awsten got up and walked into the kitchen with you trailing behind, “Like what, jellybean? We can’t really go anywhere right now.” You rolled your eyes.
“I know Aws, I was thinking we could do something here like… play a game or build a fort!” you said enthusiastically. He chuckled and grabbed two glasses and filled them with orange juice.
“Here,” he said handing you the glass, “I like the fort idea, and maybe afterward, we can get out the nerf guns and have a battle.” He said with a glint in his eyes, telling you he wanted to kick your ass.
You thought for a moment before sticking out your hand and replying, “Deal, now let’s grab every single blanket we own and make the best fucking fort the world has ever seen.”  Awsten chuckled and went to his room while you went to yours and grabbed every blanket his mom and your mom gave you guys when you moved.
After making a pile of pillows and blankets, you got to work hanging blankets from the couch to the tv and even adding Christmas lights to make it cute. “I think we did a pretty damn good job bub,” Awsten exclaimed, excited to get in a cozy up with a movie or video games.
“Of course it is, you do have the best fort builder ever living with you,” you said as you playfully nudged his shoulder.
You and Awsten had known each other for about five years and hit it off pretty quickly. Though Awsten was attractive, and you make sure to tell him whenever his self-esteem is low, you never tried the dating, it would just be weird. Awsten sat down with you one day and told you that he only ever thought of you as a sister and you agreed honestly. You only ever saw him as a big brother to you, and that’s how he acted.
After plugging in and turning on the Christmas light, you guys settled into your little cave. “Shit I forgot the snack. Be right back,” Awsten said before crawling out and getting a bag of snacks from the kitchen, “here, I got chips, crackers, cookies, soda, and orange juice.” You laughed as he handed you the bag before settling down beside you and covering up with the blanket you had over your lap.
“What do you wanna watch?” you asked, looking at Awsten for a decision. He cocked his head to the side and thought for a moment.
“Um… how about Big Hero 6…?” He asked looking to you for approval. You nodded and opened up Disney+, found the movie, and put it on snuggling closer to Awsten since you were cold.
Sometime during the second movie, you had fallen asleep cuddled up to Awsten. He didn’t want to move because you hadn’t slept well the past couple of days, so he decided to fall asleep as well. Around 7 pm, Otto and Geoff decided to come over and surprise Awsten since they haven’t seen him in a couple of weeks. Geoff luckily had a key because you and Awsten weren’t opening the door anytime soon. So after knocking for five minutes and no answer, he unlocked the door and opened it to find a giant blanket fort and Christmas lights everywhere. Wondering where you and Awsten were, he stepped inside and looked under the fort. There you were, cuddled into Awsten’s side as he had his arms wrapped protectively around you. Both of you sleeping soundly as a random movie was now playing on the tv.
Geoff poked Awsten’s shoulder and he stirred slightly. Looking around, he quickly noticed Geoff and Otto standing at the entrance of the fort. With a finger to his lips, he slowly moved to pick you up and take you to your bed. After setting you down and closing your door, he walked into the living room and turned to Geoff and Otto, “What are y’all doing here and how did you get in?” Awsten asked with a look of confusion while grabbing the OJ glasses and putting them in the sink.
“We came over to see you cause it been three weeks and we got in with the spare key you gave me when you guys moved in. How’s y/n doing?” Geoff asked while sitting at the breakfast bar.
“Oh yeah forgot about those keys, and she’s doing good. She got bored so we built a fort and were gonna have a nerf battle after, but she fell asleep.” Awsten said before grabbing two more glasses and pouring water for the guys.
You stirred a bit in your bed, confused as to how you got there. After stretching, you got up and walked to the kitchen to find Otto, Geoff, and Awsten talking about whatever. “Hey, guys.” You said while giving Otto and Geoff side hugs.
“Hey, there kiddo good to see you,” Geoff said while kissing your head.
“Yeah, we missed you,” Otto said while kissing your forehead. You walked around the bar and got a soda from the fridge.
“So what did y’all want?” you asked, taking a sip from your soda.
“They haven’t seen us in three weeks and wanted to make sure we were still alive,” Awsten said while taking a sip from your soda. You gave him a glare and rolled your eyes playfully.
“Yeah, cool fort you built there,” Otto said looking back at the tent of blankets in the living room. You smiled and gave thanks to him while looking back at Geoff and Awsten to see what they were talking about.
After about 20 minutes of conversation and jokes, Geoff spoke up to you guys, “Well I’ve got to get back to say goodnight to Rory. I’ll see you guys sometime.” he gets up and gives Awsten a hug and gives you a hug and kiss on the forehead. “Love you guys,” Geoff said before leaving.
“Well, he’s my ride so I guess I'll see you guys later.” Otto chimed before giving you a hug and kiss on the cheek and Awsten a hug as well. You and Awsten chorused goodbye as Otto left as well.
You turned to look at the fort still how you left it. “Well, do you wanna go in the fort or go to bed?” you asked the green-haired guy beside you.
“We can always fall asleep in the fort.”
“True, c’mon” you exclaimed before grabbing his hand and pulling him into the fort with you. “Let’s watch Emperors New Groove.” You said as Awsten rolled his eyes.
“We watched that last week bub.” He said with a groan.
“Whatever Aws.” you rolled your eyes as you put on the movie anyways. Covering yourself and Awsten with the blanket, you cuddled into his side as he, once again, wraps a protective arm around you. You couldn’t be happier at this terrible time. At least you were with your best friend in the whole world. You looked up at Awsten and smiled, “You’re the best big brother Aws. I love you.” You leaned up and gave him a kiss on the cheek as he looked down at you.
“I love you too,” He said before kissing your forehead, “and don’t tell Gracie but, you’re the best little sister.” You smiled as you looked back to the movie, soon falling asleep once more.

Doctor!SOS
(and Awsten Knight)
Tumblr media
A/N: I’m actually super excited to introduce this. I’ve been wanting to do a doctor series since I started this blog and now I’m finally doing it. So this post will be the first instalment to the series and it will be the introductions for all the characters and then next post will be the first writing portion. I’ll have everything sectioned off into the boy they deal with. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, here we go! Also sorry this got long.
Taglist  Masterlist
Dr. Ashton Irwin
Sacred Heart is often sought after for in-patient care for mental illnesses. This is because of Dr. Ashton Irwin. He started at Sacred Heart when the psych ward was in its early stages. He quickly worked his way up in the rankings and soon became head of the whole department. Although most heads of departments tend to “keep their hands clean”, Ashton doesn’t feel the same. He takes time to check on as many patients as he can. Dr. Irwin has admitted in the past that the reason he pursued a career in mental health is because of his own personal struggle. While it may not seem obvious for an aspiring psychologist to apply to a young, hardly existing department, it made sense to Ashton. He wanted to find a new department because he would have a chance to really make the department his own. There wouldn’t be any preconceptions about the department based on previous doctors. With all his training and work under his belt, Dr. Irwin is excited to welcome his newest intern, Dr. Vanessa Calhoun.
Moving for work has never been very easy but when you’re in the middle of trying to become a doctor, it’s even harder. Dr. Vanessa Calhoun was working on applying for internship programs at her local hospitals for psychology. She decided to send in an application to Sacred Heart, not because she thought she would get in but because it can’t hurt to try. Imagine her shock when she received an email from the Dr. Ashton Irwin.  He’s an award-winning psychologist who works at one of the best hospitals in the county, how could she say no? She packed up her life and moved across the country, leaving her friends and family behind. She just hoped it would be worth it. And now it’s her first day and she’s terrified, excited, nervous, and a little lost.
Ashton has a girlfriend. Lucky her. Chloe Owens is possibly one of the luckiest girls on the planet since she gets to kiss and hold Ashton all she wants. She works in the hospital which you think would be a problem for Ashton but it’s not. She’s only a nurse in the P.I.C.U and so Ashton doesn’t technically work with her. But Luke does and he hates her. Not just because she thinks she has special treatment but because she likes to take some of his interns into the on-call room for an “anatomy lesson.”
Dr. Awsten Knight
Dr. Awsten Knight is in his first week of his internship at Sacred Heart Hospital. Awsten graduated top of his class at Dartmouth College. He began his surgical internship hoping that he would get to study under the famous Dr. Leah Rosario, the best attending surgeon at Sacred Heart. While Knight is an amazing surgeon, his cocky attitude will be his downfall. He knows how amazing he is and he uses it to his advantage. He pushes to get the best patients and the best surgeries. His ego has caused all of the attendings and residents to despise him. No one wants to work with him any longer so he’s been sent to work under Dr. Rosario. While that was exactly what he wanted in the first place, Awsten doesn’t know what he’s in for. Dr. Rosario doesn’t take any shit and refuses to allow her interns to be cocky. Awsten is in for quite the ride. Especially since his attending is very attractive.
Dr. Leah Rosario has no time for bullshit. She is a very busy woman and a very busy surgeon. She is one of the attending surgeons at Sacred Heart and she is the best of the best. She is on course to become head of the department possibly within five to seven years. Which is a long time but she’s been through medical school so five years is nothing to her. When Dr. Rosario was first interning at the hospital, so was Calum Hood. The two quickly acknowledged they had feelings for each other and so their fling began. It was a casual, no strings attached relationship that lasted their intern year before they both moved on. Of course, Leah is still a little heartbroken but she has plenty to worry about. Like her current intern Awsten Knight who seems to think he’s hot shit.
Sage Peterson is a surgical intern and she wants to be the best. But Awsten Knight is making that really hard for her. He’s cocky but he’s amazing and while no one wants to deal with him, he gets the best procedures and Sage is sick of it. She has to find a way to knock Awsten down in the ranks and bring herself higher on the list. Maybe if she turns off his pager? Or throw him down a flight of stairs?
Dr. Calum Hood
Cocky doctors are never anyone’s favorite but Dr. Calum Hood has a reason to be cocky. He’s the best neurologist in the state and number four in the country. Calum worked his ass off to move up in the department and at around the same time Ashton became head of psychology, Calum became head of neurology. If anyone in the hospital has to deal with the brain, they come to Calum. Unless it’s an emergency and then they contact him later. But cockiness aside, Calum is amazing at what he does. He has a calming effect on his patients and yet he creates enough stress and worry for his employees so they respect him and do their work well. Calum tends to stay out of surgery now that he runs the department but when his attendings need someone to teach the interns the best way to do their job, Calum is the best person to call. Which does add to his ego but his closest friend, Dr. Rosie Buchanan, is never afraid to knock him down a peg.
Dealing with cancer every day can be hard for anyone but when you’re the best oncologist in the state, everyone wants to see you in case you can save them. But you can’t cure everyone. Dr. Rosie Buchanan has found herself in this position. She worked her way through Sacred Heart Hospital and now she’s the head of the oncology department. She creates treatment plans for every person that walks into her office, sending them to the most capable person in the ward. She sees death around her every day and to cheer herself up, the best trick she’s found is Dr. Calum Hood. They were interns at the same time and while they didn’t see each other very often, he never failed to cheer her up and she never failed to take a shot at his ego.
Evangeline Benton has been working closely with Calum. She’s his number one attending and she totally has the hots for him. She knows its wrong to have a thing for your boss but does it really even matter when Calum hardly works with her? Afterall, he is head of the department and he doesn’t work with her unless she requests him to come by. Which admittedly she does a lot. But of course, he has to have a thing for Buchanan. She’s amazing and his equal and it isn’t fair. Good thing Evangeline can easily steal him away from her with just a quick page about an annoying intern.
Dr. Michael Clifford
Michael Clifford is also just starting his internship at Sacred Heart. Dr. Clifford prefers to work under pressure and since he does so well, he decided that working in the ER would be best for him. He genuinely isn’t too sure exactly where he will go after his year as an intern but he can cross that bridge when he has to. Sacred Heart has a great internship program for those who want to work in the emergency department. Michael is most excited about is getting to do a lot of hands-on experience but he has some fears too. He can’t help but worry about what will happen when he gets a case that he can’t solve. How will he allow a patient to go and pass and then tell the family what happened? Michael is a sweet guy and he wants to save lives but as his resident Dr. Olivia Mercer continues to remind him, you can’t save everyone.
Dr. Olivia Mercer works in the ER at Sacred Heart and she’s currently a trauma resident. She’s been in the company for a while and she loves her job. Although it’s hard sometimes too. This is her first day as a resident and it’s also her first year with interns following her around. She still takes orders from her attending but she is beginning to make the rules. The first thing she has to tell her interns is going to be the most important information they learn this year. It was the only thing that kept her going during her intern year. “You can’t save everyone.” When there was a patient she couldn’t save, this was the only thing that allowed her to move on and try to save someone else. The ER isn’t for the faint of heart and luckily for her, her heart is made of stone and can take quite a beating. Maybe she should see a cardiologist?
Eric Morton is Olivia’s shitty boyfriend. While he doesn’t cheat on her (that we know of) like Ashton’s girlfriend, he doesn’t think Olivia’s job is important. He gets mad when she’s gone all night and day at work, complaining that she’s never home to cook or clean for him. It’s easy to tell why he’s a shithead but Olivia doesn’t see it. He was her first love and she feels like she could never make it without him. And he knows this. Eric knows that no matter what he does, Olivia will still be at his beck and call. Hopefully, the poor girl can find someone that actually loves her.
Dr. Luke Hemmings
Dr. Luke Hemmings has possibly the best and the worst job in the hospital. Hemmings is one of the attendings in the P.I.C.U or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. His job is amazing because he gets to work with patients aged from infants all the way up to 17-year-olds. Often times, Luke will have to send in specialists for the children that need specific care but that doesn’t stop him from always checking on them. He adores children and the best part of his day is getting to tell the parents and the child that everything will be fine and the child will be home soon. But on the other side of the coin, there are some kids that Luke just can’t fix. There are kids that come in with stage four brain cancer and the only thing he can do for the child and parent is to give them a room to say goodbye in. It’s all very hard for him but he can always count on Dr. Marjorie Webb to comfort him.
Dr. Marjorie Webb thinks that she has the best job in the whole hospital. She’s an OB/GYN and a great one at that. Expectant parents are always requesting for her to be their doctor and deliver their baby. She has the highest successful birth rate in the hospital but because of this, she’s constantly booked. She’s started to only accept high-risk pregnancies while the other OB/GYNs take the more “routine” births. Dr. Webb started at the hospital around the same time that Dr. Hemmings did and the two became close to the other when Luke couldn’t save a four-year-old girl with seizures. Marjorie took Luke to the nursery and the two held newborn babies while Luke poured his heart out. Ever since that day, the two have been extremely close and Luke always knows he can come to her (and the baby room) when he needs some cheering up.
Jayden Ruiz just started as an attending in the N.I.C.U and he works very closely with Dr. Webb. Whenever there is a newborn that needs intensive care, he’s the first person she calls, since obviously he’s the best at his job. Sometimes she even offers her knowledge to him in order to try and save a baby. But of course, she has a thing for Hemmings. There’s a reason all the women on the birthing ward call him Dr. Hunky. He’s handsome, great at his job, and loves kids. But fuck that guy! Jayden is great too and now he just needs Marjorie to see that.

what would everyone's reactions be if they met the versions of themselves from real life akfbsjf
okay, so each answer kind of exists in a separate universe. like if they ALL looked alike at the same time, it would be an Us kinda situation, and dude. that movie freaked me out. so we’re just gonna pretend that only one of them has a twin at a time.
~
awsten would be pumped. would love himself. be his own biggest fan. if they both existed in the same universe, my awsten would start a twitter or ig talking about being real awsten’s doppelganger and sometimes dye his hair the same color and recreate photos... and you know real awsten would get in on this and have him do like a whole twin photoshoot hahahaha. imagine the pranks they’d pull...
people start to figure it out, and rock sound’s writing articles about “the other awsten knight” and alt press is doing interviews with him, and he’s just eating it up. (maybe he finds out about real awsten when somebody comes up to him all flustered and asks for a picture.)
but yeah them meeting is all positvitiy and excitement from both sides. big hug, laughing, smiling, lots of, “oh my god!” and selfies and stuff like that
~
i think it would genuinely freak otto out hahaha. like im picturing my otto walking into a restaurant with his parents, and maybe real otto is sitting in a booth with grace and my otto notices her hair from across the room (im picturing that light pink she had idk) and he thinks she’s pretty so he looks to see who she’s with and it’s... himself? and he kind of freezes staring at himself, and then grace sees him, and she gets this look on her face of just confusion and kind of unsettled panic, so real otto turns to see what she’s looking at, and then their eyes meet and it’s like DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN.
they all just pretend like nothing happened, but they both think about it for years and maybe have nightmares about it.
~
if mr. w met real geoff... he would go up to him, i think. “i’m sorry so to bother you, but this is just so peculiar-” and real geoff is like, “whoa! dude!” and they sit down together (after mr. w gets a cup of tea and buys his other self some coffee, of couse) and mr. w starts asking geoff all these questions. he’s fascinated by his rockstar life, and geoff is laughing when he finds out that mr. w is not only a teacher but an ENGLISH teacher, and they exchange contact information and keep in touch every once in a while.
and YES, mr. w becomes a waterparks fan. they give him free passes to everything when they come to houston, and awsten is obsessed with having two geoffs in the room at once even though mr. w is so insanely different than ~his geoff.~ awsten always makes sure to get a picture with both geoffs at the same time, although there’s a silent agreement between everyone not to share the pictures on social media. they know mr. w would hate that kind of attention, so the photos stay private.
~
my jawn finds real jawn through an artist friend who’s on the photography side of things. real jawn’s doing a shoot for a show, and my jawn finds out about it ahead of time and decides to show up and check it out.
some guy from the band comes out and is like, “yo, jawn!” and motions him over, so he hesitantly goes, and the guy is saying stuff to him like, “when did you change clothes? you’re supposed to be backstage right now. where’s your camera?” blah blah blah and then real jawn comes out and calls the guy and is like, “i’ve been looking for you!” and the singer guy is freaked af looking between them, and then real jawn leans around to see what’s going on and sees his twin and is like wtf......... and they quickly and awkwardly leave, and my jawn is left standing there like whoa, he looks just like me in real life too.
later real jawn comes back out and finds my jawn and is like, im so sorry about earlier i just got kind of spooked. and partway through talking, my jawn realizes that real jawn thinks he’s a demon or a ghost or a time traveler something, and my jawn just kind of rolls with it. he doesn’t seek real jawn out again after that.
~
real zakk and my zakk become best friends. they’re convinced they’re the product of an actual glitch in the matrix, and they hang out together as much as humanly possible. my zakk becomes new love’s biggest fan. they definitely have sex more than once.
~
my lucas HATES real lucas. HATES him. only because he’s afraid of the whole situation. and also he’s worried that because of real lucas’ job, real lucas is somehow both cooler and hotter than he is. it’s also kind of a window into, like, ‘if things had been okay, this could have been your life.’ not that he ever wanted to go into music stuff, but just like. it kind of shows him how far off his ideal future path he went when the thing happened with chance.
~
real travis doesn’t really know what to think, but my travis LOVES real travis. he doesn’t really understand that they’re physically identical, but he loves that their voices sound the same.

Something Unexpected (Awsten Knight x reader)
A/N: So I accidentally deleted my original authors note. No trigger warnings, just some language
1208 words before this authors note
Just fluff
--
"Shotgun!"
You hopped in the passenger seat of the car, next to Awsten, forcing Otto and Geoff to the back. You instantly began playing with the radio to turn it to a better song. He just giggled and shook his head, sliding on his seatbelt at the same time as you.
"What? There's a lot of shitty songs on the radio, I have to listen to the good ones. You know what they need to do is play Waterparks on the radio," you told him.
"I agree," Otto chimed in from the back seat. You looked back and shot him a smile. You saw Awsten looking at you briefly before turning around to back up. What you didn't see though was the look he was giving Otto, showing his obvious jealousy to which he just teasingly smiled back to.
It was later in the night, around 11 o' clock, but you and Awsten wanted orange juice and Geoff and Otto couldn't sleep. So, you all left Jawn and Travis to sleep and hopped in the car in your pajamas.
Despite it being Texas, it was actually quite cold at night so you had to throw on your black hoodie. Even with it on, you shivered in the car. Thankfully it was a short drive to HEB and Awsten's car heated up quickly.
The HEB parking lot was virtually empty, considering it was almost closing time.
~~
You and Awsten went to get the orange juice and some chocolate Twizzlers while Geoff and Otto got some blueberries and Snapple.
It was almost deliberate, but your hands gently brushed against his as you walked, leaving the slightest tint of pink on your cheeks.
"You know what we should do?" Awsten asked, abruptly stopping. You turned to look at him. "We should totally try and scare Geoff and Otto." A grin grew on your face.
"Yes!" you quietly exclaimed and then you two proceeded to sneak around quietly, attempting to find them. When you did, you almost screeched as you moved your head back quickly, almost hitting Awsten. You were short enough though that you only would have hit his chest.
"'Slow down, jellybean,'" he quoted, suppressing a grin and you shot him a playful glare.
"They're down that aisle," you said, looking around for places to hide. There was a display stand and it was just under the sight of the only checkstand worker. You pointed it out.
"Let's go there," you whispered and he nodded, quietly walking over there with large steps and his orange juice in hand. You looked one last time before running over there, squatting down next to him.
Considering how small the boxed display was, you had to sit close to him and that made you considerably anxious. You'd been best friends for years, but sadly that's how long your crush on him was, despite him ending up having another girlfriend for a while before that ultimately went down the drain. Now though, he was resting his chin on your shoulder, peaking around the side and making it hard for you to breath and think straight.
He moved his head back towards you so it was fully resting on your shoulder again.
"They look like they're still browsing, we got time," he says, taking his chin off your shoulder and looking at you. You decided to look at him, despite the blush you always got.
His purple hair was fading, but he was still adorable none the less. He stared into your (e/c) eyes like he was deciding something, his own green and blue ones darting to your lips quickly.
Suddenly he was moving in, his soft lips against your own. You were shocked but it was so brief that you didn't have time to kiss back.
"Sorry. I've been waiting to do that for years," he said.
"Well I would've enjoyed it more if you'd done it longer, geez!" you told him quietly and he blushed, giggling. He looked and saw Geoff and Otto walking towards their general direction and pressed a finger to his lips.
"1, 2, 3," he mouthed before you both jumped out, making Geoff almost drop the blueberries and Otto yelp slightly. You and Awsten broke into fits of slightly tired laughter.
"Admit it, we got you good," Awsten managed to get out between laughs. Geoff and Otto just shook their heads, grabbing the Twizzlers and orange juice from yours and Awsten's hands, letting you both catch your breath while they checked out. After managing to calm down, Awsten took your hand gently, waiting to see your reaction, which was just a grin as you two got up, walking over.
Otto looked down and noticed and smirked.
"Finally, you two. I thought you'd never get together after years of obvious liking and jealousy," he said as they finished checking out, heading out of the store. Geoff grinned, obviously liking this result. Awsten just hit them lightly on the arm and shook his head. The blush covering his face was adorable though, so you let it continue on.
~~
Two months later, you were doing almost the same thing, except this time it was earlier (not by much) and instead of going home and watching The Office, you were watching Lights Out. You'd been wanting to see it for a while, but Awsten had been on tour. This was your first day with him again, and you were the happiest you'd been in those few months before he left.
"Remember when we scared Geoff and Otto here?" you ask him. He grinned at the memory.
"How could I forget, that's when I first kissed you and held your hand," he told you, kissing your forehead.
"Not a real kiss?" you ask in mock hurt before laughing along with him.
"That's for after the movie when you're scared."
"Wait, you watched it without me?"
"Well, I mean kind of. There was nothing to do on the bus one day and I wanted to see if it was scary enough to give me an excuse to cuddle you or not."
You just blushed with a quiet 'aw', although in all reality your stomach was doing flips.
"Is it?" you ask finally, once you're heading out into the still chilly air. It was just ending winter time, but the weather decided to still make everything freezing.
"Yes, it's terrifying! I spent the rest of my day under my blanket in my bunk with the light on!" he exclaimed, attempting to warm your hands until you got to the car.
The movie, like he said, was terrifying, even in the first five minutes. You were both under a heavy blanket on his bed, watching it on his laptop. After about 30 minutes into the movie, he intertwined his fingers with your shaking one, running his thumb over your fingers. You look at him but he's just staring at the screen. Right as you try and kiss his cheek is when he turns and your lips accidentally brush, making you both giggle before fixing the kiss and turning back to watch the movie.
Sighing in content, you lay your head on his chest, feeling his heartbeat flutter before calming down.
You could stay like this forever.

when i started college i had this one course where we focused on subcultures & the final project was to research and survey people from a subculture of your choosing. i did mine on music fans and the relationship between fans and idols. i didn't know about parx then, but now i'm thinking i need to re-do the study bc this dynamic is fascinating and very study-able lol. i'd even cite you/credit you as a co-writer for the way you analyze things and caused me to re-think this idea
it IS rly interesting!!!! ive been aware of parasocial relationships for a couple of years now but getting into parx and seeing the absolute shithow it is with how awsten manages (or rather does not manage) his intensely parasocial audience and how it has negative effects on both him and the fandom at large has rly solidified a lot of ideas for me, just bc its so easy to look behind the curtain and pick apart what he and his friends do so wrong when compared to other much bigger parasocial fandoms (old bandom comes to mind)
im happy if my analysis resonates w u :,) it comes from a place of frustration but i dont think im being hyperbolic, i rly do think theres clear logic to follow when u have a grasp of how parasocial relationships work and it can be cathartic to point out exactly what is happening and why. if u do redo the study i would love to be listed as a source LOL i hope my first citation in academia is not any of the theses i wrote in my own undergrad career but instead me psychoanalyzing awsten knight on tumblr.gov

RARE || Awsten Knight Fanfic 1
Chapter Two:
I introduced Waterparks effortlessly and quietly walked off the stage as the curtain drew showing the three men behind me.  They apparently just released an album two days before the show and from the response of the crowd at least a good handful knew about it already.  The crowd roared excitedly as the sound of guitars filled my ears.  The beat made my head bob, but the voice that came out of lilac man was something I was prepared for.  It was rare, you could tell he meant every word he was singing.
I stood behind the curtains, not taking my eyes off of the stage just as infixed as the audience.  My foot started tapping to the beat as I reached for my phone and quickly typed a note to myself: "Waterparks."  I'd have to check them out later.
"Sophia, let's get you back to your seat," Isabel states, coming up from behind me.
"Actually," I smiled, turning around to face her.  "Could I maybe stick around back stage just for a little while?"
She gave me a look that made it seem like I had just inconvenienced her plans, but she sighed giving in.  "I mean I guess you could hang out back here for just a few more minutes, but please be back to your seat after the next commercial break," she pleaded.
I tried to hide my excitement as I eagerly clapped my hands, turning back to the performance just in time to see both guitar players bouncing around the stage.  A few moments later, Otto, the drummer finished with an impressive solo before the lights went out and the crowd erupted yet again.  The curtain fell and the three men came jogging off stage, goofing off as they did so.
"Good job guys!" a man yelled as he met up with the three of them a few feet from me.  He had a camera around his neck and a head of bright red hair.  A colorful bunch, I note.
"I got so nervous just as the curtains came up," lilac guy admits, letting out a breath it seemed like he had been holding.  "I can't believe we just did that," he's suddenly beaming, jumping up and down some.
A smile spreads across my face as I finally take the opportunity to approach them.  "Hey, I just wanted to say that you guys were really great out there," I say as nonchalantly as possible.
"Really?" lilac man questions, shooting me a wide grin.  The other two say 'thank you' in unison before turning to their friend with the red hair who seems intent on not speaking at all as he blatantly stares in my direction.
I give him a smile, trying to hold in my laughter before responding to his question.  "Honestly, I put your bands name into my phone halfway through the song because I wanted to hear more later," I admitted, tucking a stray piece of hair behind my ear.
"Do you want to hear more right now?" he asks tilting his head to the side just slightly, reminding me of a very cute dog.
"Definitely," I grin, knowing full well I was going to get in trouble with Isabel when I wasn't back in a few minutes.
"I'm Awsten by the way," he says, holding his hand out to me for a simple handshake.  "That's spelled with a 'w'," he clarifies as I nod.
"Noted."
"That's Geoff, and Otto," he says pointing out the other two members of his band as we walk back towards the dressing room I had first noticed him.  "Oh and Jawn, he's our photographer.  He spells his name with a 'w' too, in case you were curious."
Forty minutes later I was sitting cross legged in my Versace dress on the floor in their green room, listening to demo's off of Awsten's lap top he just happened to have on him.  We'd gotten past the star struck phase and gone straight into Awsten's universe and I was so okay with it.
"And right here, I was thinking I could add in some cool harmonies and it would add this dope effect to the sound, so I decided to throw something together and, well just listen," he's talking quickly, quieting down when he wants me to hear something specific.  His music is good, better than good, it's fantastic and his passion speaks for itself.
"Hey Sophia," his friend Jawn says, pulling me out of my trance.
"Hmm?" I hum, looking up at him from the ground where Awsten and I were crouched.
"Is it weird if I ask for a picture?" he asks, clearly trying to tread lightly.  I appreciate his asking and not just doing.
"Oh yeah, totally," I say, running a hand through my hair some in preparation as I began to stand.
"No no, you can stay down there, I just-" he pauses, looking down at Awsten and over to me.  "you two looked really candid, and it'll make the band look pretty cool," he stated as Awsten's face began to get a red tint.
I look over at Awsten who's just a few feet away from me and smile some.  I guess I didn't always have to have the exact right angle for a photo.  Falling back down beside him, I gesture towards his lap top.  "Alright, what's next."
We stay that way for a while, all five of us talking as the music continues to play in the background.  The longer I'm there, the more they seem to relax around me.  They begin kidding with each other, talking about anything and everything, laughing loudly and occasionally embarrassing themselves or each other.  These are the moments I missed the most when I was working 24/7.  Every person I spoke to was normally older, my boss, or a coworker who acted like they liked me for the sake of a film.  A content sigh leaves my lips as my head bobs to the music.
A knock on the door causes us all to quiet down.  It opens seconds later and I see a familiar face come into view.  "Sophia are you kidding me right now?"  Isabel says in a very similar tone to that of my own mother.
"Isabel," I say, standing up quickly, flattening out the ripples in my dress, "Hey."  The four guys stand up, trying to clear out as fast as possible, causing me to frown some.  "Way to ditch," I mutter as Awsten waves at me, a playful smile on his lips as he runs for the door.
"Do you even know what time it is?" She's now shrieking as she grabs my wrist and begins pulling me out the door.  "You have to be at Andy Cohen's after party in less than 30 minutes.  The award show is over and you dipped literally half way into the show.  Not a good come back for you, Sophia."  Her lecture seems to have ceased for now as we walked in silence towards the exit.  I look around in hopes of spotting Awsten or Jawn's bright colored hair but they're nowhere in sight.
A few minutes and a lot more lecture later, I had finally made it to the overly crowded club.  It's now becoming clear to me that I missed the memo of free booze at the event making me one of the only sober people in the room.  As soon as we're through the door's Isabel is gone, probably already beginning to network.  More power to her if she wants to spend every waking moment of her life working.
"Sophia, so good to see you!" I hear a slurred voice say as a clearly drunk Andy Cohen makes his way over to me.
"Hey Andy, this party is amazing.  Thank you for the invite," I say giving him a hug and a smile.
"Oh stop it, you know you're always invited to my parties babe, you're one of America's favorite faces, who by the way has to make an appearance on my show now that you're back in the spotlight" he laughs, shooting me a wink.  I had to hold back the urge to roll my eyes.
"You're too sweet, but I'm only back for the night." I wave off his statement as best I can, patting his arm.
"That's a real shame Sophia.  Don't let that dumb boy stop you from being the true star I know you are," he coos, wrapping an arm around my shoulders.  "I've got to go make my rounds sweetie and you've got to get a drink in that hand of yours," he states, turning me towards the bar before letting go of me.  My eyes can't help but notice a familiar head of purple hair.  No way.  "Go have some fun," he mutters into my ear before disappearing into the sea of people.
Third time's a charm right? I wonder to myself before taking a deep breath and walking over to him.  He's leaning against the bar, staring at the bar tender who keeps blatantly ignoring him and taking other's people's orders.  "Need some help?" I ask, squeezing in beside him.
He glances over to me briefly, smiling some when he does.  "Hey Sophia, are you stalking me?"
I laugh at his comment, trying to hide the redness in my cheeks.  "Actually, I was going to ask you that."  I look back over at the bartender and catch his attention with a quick wave and a smile.  "Hey, could I get a glass of champagne? And whatever he wants," I say gesturing over to Awsten who's just staring at me incredulously.
"Water please," he says, breaking eye contact with me to look at the bar tender who just scoffs at him.
"Water?" I question, furrowing my eyebrows together.  "Bold choice," I grin.
He lets out a slight chuckle, looking down at his hands in front of him.  "I'm a risk taker, what can I say?"
The bartender hands us our drinks and I take a small sip, looking over at Awsten.  He was attractive and his purple hair looked good against his lighter skin tone.  He peers up at me from his glass, noticing that I'm staring.  "Do you have two different colored eyes?" I ask, flicking my eyes back and forth between his.
He lets out a laugh at my bluntness and nods, "yeah, look!" he says excitedly, opening his eyes a little wider and leaning into me some.
I giggle more than okay with him closing the gap between us.  I stare at his eyes intently, noticing the slightly darker hue of his right eye.  "Your eyes sort of remind me of the ocean," I smile some as I see pupils dilate.
He leans back a little, a smile spread across his lips.  "You're very smooth," he admits honestly, laughing some as his cheeks slightly redden.  He grabs his glass off the counter and takes a quick drink.  "For the record, your eyes are a much prettier blue," he says with a nod.
I lean on the bar some, taking another sip of my drink as I bat my eyes at him playfully.  "You think so?"
"You got something in your eye?" he quips back, causing me to drop my act and begin giggling.  He smiles wide again as the silence falls between us, "you're pretty cool," he states matter of factly, seemingly happy with his discovery.
"Do you not think I was cool before this?" I ask, genuinely curious.
"No, I've always thought you were cool," he clarifies, "it's just been that most actresses are fake these days," he winces some at how that came off.  "Wow, uh I'm sorry, that was the worst way I could have said that.  You're great, I swear I think you're the coolest, you're talented, you're beautiful, I mean you're you, you know?" Awsten is full on rambling, trying to dig himself out of a hole and I can't help but smile.
My face is starting to hurt from smiling so much in one sitting.  I cover my mouth with my hand to try and hide my amusement as he continues.  He doesn't stop until he's completely out of breath.  "Can we pretend I stopped talking after I said you were cool?" he asks, red in the face from talking so fast.
"And ignore the fact that you said I was beautiful?" I grin as he scratches his head, now avoiding eye contact with me. "Absolutely not."
"Awsten!" I hear someone shout as we both jump apart.  Jawn comes plowing through the crowded bar and over to the two of us, camera still hanging from his neck.  "We thought you'd gotten lost," Jawn states, shaking his head at Awsten before turning to see me.  "Oh hey Sophia," he smiles and gives me a quick wave.
Awsten shakes his head some rolling his eyes at his friend.  "I've literally been gone ten minutes."
"I can let you get back to your party," I interject, "I've got to make my rounds anyways."
"Hey before you go," Jawn says, turning towards me.  "Can I actually get a picture of you and the band?"
"What he's asking is for you to give us free promo," Awsten says, nudging my side with his elbow.  "Which I think is a fantastically generous thing to do with your social media power," he states holding his hand over his heart.
Jawn laughs as he leads us away from the crowded bar to the tables near the edge of the club.  "Otto, Geoff, come here for a sec," he beckons.  The two are sitting at a booth talking back and forth with drinks in their hands.  They look up to see the three of us and walk over.  "Hey Sophia!" Geoff waves happily as he approaches.  I wave back with just as much excitement.
"Group photo," Jawn states, the four of us come together, Awsten's on one knee in front of me, his elbow resting on his knee and his chin resting on his hand.  God.  Otto and Geoff are on either side of me, smiling wide.  The camera goes off and we all relax before Awsten stops us.
"Wait wait, I need one on my phone, Travis will never believe this if I don't text him immediately," he insists handing the phone over to Jawn before hopping up and standing directly in front of me.  "This is the perfect picture," he says through laughter, his entire frame blocking me from view.  What a nerd.
"Funny," I fake laugh, pushing him to the side a little to pose for the camera a beaming smile on my face as Awsten looks down at me still laughing at his own joke.  Jawn takes the picture amid the chaos and nods with approval at his job well done.
He hands the phone back to Awsten and starts looking through his camera at his other photos.  "This is great!" Awsten shouts, laughing at his phone before turning it to face me.  It was a pretty great picture.  The two of us are in the center, both smiling extremely wide, while Geoff and Otto are on the outsides, with looks between a smile and confusion.  "Please tag me in this if you post it."
"I'll tag you in it, but you can't get a follow from me," he states seriously.  I stop smiling for a second and furrow my eyebrows.
"What? Why?"
"I don't just follow anybody," he says as if I should somehow know this.  Meanwhile I'm literally following thousands of people.
"How many people do you follow?" I ask, now completely curious about this.
"Like 350 maybe?" he says, thinking for a moment.
I stare at him for a moment, in awe.  "You're pretty cool," I laugh, quoting his statement from earlier.
He takes the compliment with an eye roll and a scoff, "I'm posting it right now."  With that he unlocks his phone and opens Instagram instantly.
I try not to stare at his phone too intently as he begins editing the photo, looking up at me briefly.  "What's your handle?" he chuckles before adding.  "God what a millennial thing to ask."
"It's 'thesophiamontgomery'," I say leaning in some to take another glance at the picture.
"Hey hey, look away, you'll see it soon enough," he says, shooing me away, turning his back to me.
"Sophia!" I hear Isabel shout over the noise.  "Sophia, we've got to get going.  There's another party I want to hit before we're done for the night," she says as she approaches me.
The smile I had been sporting almost all night slowly fell from my face.  "Another party?" I ask, trying my hardest not to sound like I was whining, even if I was.
Isabel looks behind me at Awsten who's turned around now, phone slid away.  "Again?" she whispers to me as if he couldn't tell she was talking about him.  Shaking her head some she sighs, "say goodbye to your friends, we have to go," and just like that she's gone again, holding her hand in the air wiggling her fingers around to indicate I had exactly 5 minutes to say my goodbyes.
I turn around to face Awsten who's giving me an understanding look.  "If I follow you on twitter, will you at least consider giving me a follow back?" I ask, as his eyes light up.
He nods, "Absolutely."
Before I know what's come over me, I wrap my arms around him and give him a quick hug.  "It was really great meeting you," I smile as I pull away.
"You too," his cheeks are still flushed pink and I can't help but smile.
I give a small wave to his bandmates and Jawn who wave back.  "Goodnight Awsten," I say, tucking some hair behind my ear as I turn and walk back into the crowd of people, towards the exit.
Chapter Three X
-------
This was a long one, but it was also super Awsten heavy so you’re welcome.  This story can also be found on wattpad if that’s more your scene for fic.  Also I’m picturing Sophia as Barbara Palvin, but you’re welcome to picture her however you please.  This story will eventually have some social media stuff and I needed someone, you know?  Anyways, I hope you enjoy and I’ll see you with another chapter in a week.

“i can’t do this without you.”
39. “i can’t do this without you.”
i had an idea. i saw that this was the next prompt.
it broke me.
it’ll break you too.
trigger warnings - depression and anxiety
"So this fuckin' asshole thinks he can just fuckin' do that? I was like hell no dude, this isn't just another fuckin' song. I put so much of myself into this shit and they think they can fuck with it like that? Hell fuckin' no. So I just-"
"Aws, hey, take a breath." Geoff moves the arm he has around his shoulders to the middle of his back, between the blades of his shoulders. "It's our day off. We said no band stuff."
He rolls his eyes. "You said no band stuff. I didn't say anything."
"I meant it for both of us," Geoff mutters. He begins to move his hand in circles. Awsten pulls his lip in with his teeth and closes his eyes, leans into Geoff's touch and lets his body weight shift onto Geoff's side. "You needa day off, love. You're too stressed."
"It's an important song," he manages. "I need them to hear it the way I wrote it. The way it was meant to be heard."
"They will." Geoff's hand stills on his back and snakes around to wrap around him. His fingers curl around his torso and Awsten stumbles and almost falls, as Geoff pulls him into a hug. He feels the tears burning at the corners of his eyes as soon as his face hits Geoff's shoulder. Swallowing against the lump in his throat, he inhales heavily and presses his nose against Geoff's collarbone.
"Do you wanna go home?" Geoff's breath feels warm against his ear. "We can see the movie another day."
"Mmmm."
"We just left off on the season six finale of The Office, remember? We can start seven." Geoff keeps rubbing his back. "And we still have some of the cookies your mom dropped off on Thursday. C'mon baby, let's go home. You need a day in bed."
He needs more than just a day. He needs a week, a month, maybe an entire year of dreamless, restful sleep, unhindered by the sharp claws, the talons digging into his back and ripping at his skin, tearing and scooping, hollowing him out until he wakes, cold, breathless, sticky with sweat and unable to separate the images his mind conjures from you're in bed you're with Geoff you're safe it was just a dream you're okay breathe.
He lifts his head off Geoff's shoulder and looks down, slips his hand into Geoff's and curls his tiny fingers around Geoff's bigger ones. "Let's go home."
Geoff smiles at him and leans in to kiss his cheek. He closes his eyes, breathes in, uses his other hand to cup Geoff's cheek and press their foreheads together.
Some days he wonders how this happened. He remembers the blurry lines and faded edges, the darks and lights blending into one to form a greyed out mess, the ache, like someone poked a hole in his heart and then stuck their finger in it like a curious child, ripping and tearing until it finally split.
He remembers the headaches, crying so hard he couldn't lift his head off his pillow the next morning, the hand on his back and the voice next to his ear, feeling the bed dip and being intoxicated by a scent that now feels like home. He remembers Geoff's hands; feeling liquid warmth seep into his veins, plant flowers where she'd grown weeds, become the glue that held his broken pieces together.
Some days he wonders how he got this lucky and thinks of the version of himself a few years ago, the one that stared up at the ceiling with achy eyes and a knot in his chest, the one that wondered if things would ever get better.
And he wishes he could tell himself it would.
"I love you," he whispers. He moves his head back so he can connect his lips with Geoff's.
"I love you, too," Geoff says when they pull away. "Never forget that."
He swallows again – goddamn Geoff for turning his sad tears into happy ones – and turns out of Geoff's embrace to look at the street in front of them. He starts walking forward and the grip on Geoff's hand becomes a pull and that's when he realizes Geoff isn't walking with him.
"Geoff?"
"The walk sign's not lit up Aws, we gotta wait."
He turns back to the street. The road is clear. He can hear cars in the distance but they sound far enough that they can make it across the street. "There's no one here, relax."
"Aws, I really think you should-"
"It's fine!"
"Aws, watch out!"
"AWSTEN!"
Someone pulls the ground out from under him. He's in the air for all of two seconds. He feels pressure against his back and he flies forward, tumbling to the concrete in a tangle of limbs. The pain stings. It's sore his knees are stinging what the fuck just happened who the fuck was that what the-
He hears the screeching of tires and whips his head around, just in time to see Geoff's body roll up onto the hood of the car and crash to the ground with a loud thump.
...
His heart is racing.
It feels like his lungs are going to eject out of his throat. The nausea has settled in and made a nice home for itself.
He's never run this fast in his life.
He practically hangs onto the receptionist's desk when he gets to it, white-knuckling the edge and panting heavily. He puts one hand on his chest and inhales a heavy breath. There's nothing slowing down his heart. It's impossible. It's been racing since Awsten's flurry of frantic texts came in.

"Sir, may I...help you?"
"Geoff Wigington." He lifts his head with another gasp.
She nods, still looking a bit hesitant, and types for a bit. The keys clack loudly. He feels like he's suffocating when did it get so hot in here why.
"He's still in surgery, sir," she says. "But they brought someone else in with him, an Awsten Knight? Do you know him?"
"Y-Yeah," He chokes out. "He's my best friend."
"Alright," she replies. "He's in the emergency waiting room, if you'd like to go wait with him. Make a left at the end of your hall and it'll be on your right."
"And...Geoff?"
"I don't have anymore information right now," she tells him. The smile on her face looks sympathetic. He bites down on his lip. "But if you come back in an hour or so, I might. Either that or his doctor will come out and speak to you guys. Someone will find you when there's an update, I promise."
"Thank you."
He doesn't wait to hear the rest of her rehearsed 'I hope your friend is okay' spiel. He's already received a ton of dirty looks for running, so he tries his best to speed walk down the hallway.
GeoffGeoffGeoffAwstenalonegogogo.
And then he's running again, skidding to a halt when he gets to the waiting room and Awsten comes into view.
He's sitting sideways in one of the chairs, completely secluded in a corner. His knees are pulled up to his chest and his arms are wrapped around them. He's not looking up so Otto can't see his face, but what he can see of his cheek is red. His hair is messy, sticking up in clumps. He's wearing – holy fuck is that blood? – Geoff's hoodie around himself like a blanket.
"Awsten," he breathes, stepping forward so he's in Awsten's line of sight.
Awsten whips his head around so fast.
And seconds later, he has his arms full of boy. Awsten lunges for him and koala-clings to his body, arms so tight around his neck that he's giving him a physical reason, along with emotional, not to breathe. He wraps his arms equally as tight around Awsten's torso and pulls him in as close as he can possibly get.
His heart feels like it's cracking just as fast as it is racing because the sobs Awsten is letting out are guttural and choked. His voice sounds absolutely wrecked. He's borderline screaming. Otto can feel the spot on his shirt already soaked through. "H-He pushed- and then he- I saw- h-hit- I-"
Otto rubs his back and swallows against the lump in his own throat. Tears are burning at the corners of his eyes and sliding down his cheeks. "I know. It's gonna be okay, Aws, I promise. He's gonna be okay."
"No." Awsten lifts his head up and stares at him. He's chewing on his lip. His cheeks are swollen and tearstained and his eyes are bloodshot and red.
"Yes," Otto emphasizes. "He's going to be fine. I promise you."
"You don't get it."
"What?"
Awsten's voice cracks heavily with his next words, "it's my fault."
...
It doesn't feel real.
He saw the blood pouring from Geoff's head and heard himself screaming his name and tasted nothing on his lips when he kissed him, but it still doesn't feel real. He sat in the ambulance and watched them hook Geoff up to every wire in existence, saw them attach him to a heart monitor, kept his eyes fixated on how damn slow the beeps were, stared at Geoff's unmoving body, the barely-there rise and fall of his chest.
It's not real.
Geoff didn't push him out of the way of an oncoming car. He didn't get hit himself. He didn't sacrifice himself for Awsten. It didn't happen.
Except that it did.
Geoff pushed him out of the way of an oncoming car.
And then got hit himself.
He keeps trying to tell himself that, trying to make sense of it in his brain, but the words aren't clicking. It won't register. 'Geoff got hit by a car for you' is a sentence his brain refuses to process. It sounds like a movie, one of those heartbreaking romcoms where the guy gives up everything for his girl and it ends in tragedy because the universe isn't always so kind.
Geoff told him.
He said the walk sign wasn't lit up, he said to stay back, he said not to cross the fucking street.
He did it anyway.
He tried to cross the street and a car came out of nowhere, and Geoff, being the fucking hero he is, took it upon himself to make sure he didn't get hurt. Geoff sacrificed himself for him.
Geoff could be dead right now, because of how stubborn he is.
His chest feels so tight. His throat is closed. He can't swallow without tears stinging his eyes. His arms are sore and his mind is racing and his heart hasn't stopped running the marathon.
He could be dead.
Because of you.
If he dies it's your fault yourfaultyourfaultyourfuckingfault.
He's going to throw up again. He spent fifteen minutes in the bathroom after they first got here, having watched them rush the bloodstained stretcher into emergency surgery.
Having watched them rush the love of his life into emergency surgery.
It feels like a dream it's not real nothing is real Geoff is safe they're home they're watching the Office they're eating cookies Geoff's okay everything is okay everything'sokayeverything'sokayeverything'sokay.
This is all your fault.
Yourfaultyourfaultyourfault.
He's going to throw up again.
...
"Alright hun. You're listed as his emergency contact, so you're able to stay the night with him. I'll bring you in a cot a little later if you want one, okay?"
He nods. He feels numb. The world feels like it's moving without him, like he's looking down on it from some outside place in the universe, looking down on his body and his life but not really living it.
There's a cast on Geoff's left leg and another on his right arm. Bandages are wrapped around his head, hair covering them messily. He's wearing a hospital gown that covers his legs down to where the cast begins. There's road rash on his uncasted arm and a plaster covering a spot on the middle of his (seemingly) uninjured right calf.
There's nothing left in his stomach to throw up. The pocket of tears is sitting right next to the nausea switch, pressing dangerously against it. All that's holding either of them back is a paper-thin membrane that's just about to rip.
He walks closer and reaches for Geoff's uninjured hand. He doesn't lift their hands off the bed.
Haven't you hurt him enough for one lifetime?
He's gonna break up with you.
If he lives through this, that is.
Who would want someone that did this to them?
"I-I," he forces out. "I'm so sorry. I love you so much and I am so fucking sorry. I should've listened to you. You were right." A choked chuckle tears from his throat. "Always are, aren't ya? My stubborn ass should listen more, huh?"
He leans over to kiss Geoff's cheek, right under his eye. "I don't deserve you. It always feels like that. You're just...you're so good to me and I'm so shitty and I don't know why you're still with me and maybe this is a blessing in disguise because now you have an excuse to leave my pathetic ass." His voice breaks on the next words, "I don't know why you'd wanna stay."
He squeezes Geoff's hand, biting down on his lip and tasting copper. He drops his head down and squeezes his eyes shut. "Please, just. Don't die. You don't have to stay with me. I get why you wouldn't want to. But I just-" Another sob. "I need you. I need you way more than you need me and it's pathetic and I'm pathetic I get it but I just. I don't know how to do this on my own, Geoff, I-" Talking hurts, at this point. His throat hurts so bad and every word feels like another knife. "I can't do this on my own."
"I'm so fuckin' stupid." He barks out another laugh. "Tellin' you you can leave me and then sayin' how much I need you. I'm too fuckin' dependent on other people 'cause I hate myself so much."
"I don't feel okay without you," he continues. "And it sucks. I know that's not how it's supposed to be. I know it's like, unhealthy and shit. But after everything last time...I would be dead without you. I don't know if you know that but it's true. I wanted to kill myself so bad after her and I. I didn't. Because of you. Because you made me feel like it was okay to be sad or angry or numb or anything, and I needed that. I needed you. You were the only person saying it and I needed it so bad."
"I've done a lot of stupid things." He forces a smile and looks up at the ceiling. "A lot of really shitty, stupid things that I know make me a bad person. But this...falling in love with him...this is the best thing I've ever done. It felt like all the bad stuff was finally over. Like I was finally healing. And fuck, I was so tired of being broken. And he heals me. So I just." He swallows. "Universe, god, whoever's fuckin' up there, I just. I know I'm shitty and only go to church on Christmas and Easter – and that's only when we're home which we usually aren't – but I need him. I can't lose him. I can't do it it'll kill me I promise it will he's too important for it not to."
"So please just." He can't stop crying. "Please don't take him from me. Please. Give him back. I need him, please, I know I'm horrible I know, just this one thing, please, I just." he sobs again. It feels like one giant ball of pain, expanding and sending out sparks. Each spark hurts worse than the last. It all hurts. Everything hurts.
"Please..."
...
Night comes and goes; dark blurs into light.
He doesn't register any of it.
The only time he moves from Geoff's side is to go to the bathroom. He doesn't eat, won't sleep, can't do anything but watch Geoff's rising and falling chest, make sure he's still breathing what if he stops what if it stops what if I watch him die.
His face feels stiff and everything feels like massive migraine.
It hurts so much. His eyes burn and his stomach growls and his limbs ache.
He ignores all of it. Otto knocks on the door, brings him food, sends Zakk and Travis and even Jawn, to try and convince him to eat something. He refuses.
And everything is silent.
He gets accustomed quickly. The beeping heart monitor and Geoff's breathing become a home, familiar. He settles into it.
"I love you," he mumbles, bending down to kiss Geoff's hand. "Come back to me so you can dump my sorry ass. It's okay. I know it's coming. I just- I needa know you're-" His voice cracks. "Alive. At least. Just that. I'll be okay. I knew this wasn't- wasn't gonna last forever."
"Are you planning on dying?"
He stops.
Someone hits pause on the world, and he stops.
His heart is racing hot cold hot cold hot cold there's fire burning down his back but ice swallowing all of it what the fuck what's going on fuckfuckfuck.
"G-Geoff?"
Geoff blinks at him. He squeezes his hand. "Are you planning on dying? Because I'm not."
"Wha- I don't- I-"
"This ends when one of us dies," Geoff says. "And it's not gonna be me."
"I can't-" The world is spinning everything's moving fuckfuckfuck this isn't real it's a dream he's dreaming he can't breathe what the fuck just happened fuckfuckfuck.
"Come here." Geoff holds out his good arm.
He doesn't need to be told twice.
He climbs onto the bed – as gingerly as possible, avoiding wires and tubes as best he can – and sinks against Geoff's chest. He buries his face in the crook of Geoff's neck and inhales.
It doesn't smell like what he's used to – the cologne, sweat, and vanilla. It's sterilization and antiseptic and his nose curls up at first, but he ignores it.
"We're gonna talk about this later," Geoff murmurs. His lips are buried in Awsten's hair. "After I get some pain meds hopefully, 'cause this fucking hurts. But sunshine, this isn't ending. No matter what. You've got me. Until I die, I'm yours, and even after. I promise."
"I love you," is all he can manage. The past two days have been the most exhausting of his entire life. His body feels so heavy. His head hurts so bad. Everything feels so thick. Heavy.
Possible.
"I love you, too."
The room dissolves into steady silence for a few moments. He tightens his grip on Geoff, tries to balance between not wanting to hurt him and wanting to squeeze him and never let go.
He almost lost him.
He swallows again and presses his lips against Geoff's neck. Geoff starts to rub his back again, and he sighs.
"I would do it again. And again. A hundred times over, even more, if it meant you never have to get hurt a day in your life. I love you, sunshine. You're the love of my life. This is never gonna end, okay? Can you say it? So I know you're hearing me?"
His voice cracks in the beginning, and more tears slide down his face by the end.
"This is never gonna end."

Tumblr media
I got off the van before the rest of my band, Y/B/N, was even awake. It was day 15 of Warped Tour and I was having the time of my life. We were making friends from other bands and it was great, we played flip cup all the time and wrote songs with each other. We all supported each other immensely and saw each other perform all the time. There was one band that we loved but had yet to meet, Waterparks. I thought Awsten was really cute, and his vocals just kill me. Derek from State Champs, a.k.a. my best friend, knew about my little crush on Awsten and was determined to get us to meet. They always came out to our shows and Awsten would always smile at me. I really did want to meet him, I’m just super nervous. He was confident and funny, not that I’m not, but he is just more.
I was lost in thought when I ran into someone. I was about to fall, but someone caught me.
“Oh my god! I’m so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going.” I looked up to see who was talking…
“Geoff?” I asked.
“Y/N?” He asked.
“This is not how I intended for us to first meet. What are you doing anyway?”
“Playing Pokémon GO. What are you doing?”
“Of course you are. Thinking and probably going to head down to see if Derek is up yet.”
“What are you thinking about?”
“A lot of things.”
“Geoff! Come on, dude, I think I found more Pokémon… Is that Y/N Y/L of Y/B/N?” Jawn asked walking up behind Geoff.
“Yeah. Don’t tell Awsten.”
“Why can’t you tell Awsten you were talking to me?” I interrupted.
“Because he will get mad.” Geoff answered.
“Why?”
“He just will. I would love to stay and chat, but I have Pokémon to catch.”
“Okay, bye.”
Geoff left me alone and confused. Why couldn’t he tell Awsten that he ran into me? Why would it make him mad? I need to talk to Derek.
I ran to the State Champs bus, yes lucky them they get a bus, and opened the door. A chorus of “Y/N!” and “Hey!!” ‘s were yelled at me upon my entry. Derek was the first to stand up and give me a hug.
“What wrong?” He asked.
“Awsten.”
“Oooohhhhh. Your love life drama, sit down and share with the class.” Tyler said scooting over so that I could sit down. I told them the story of what happened with Geoff.
“I mean why couldn’t Geoff tell Awsten? Why would he get mad? Is it because he hates me?”
“I think we all know why Awsten would get mad at Geoff for talking to you.” Ryan announced smirking and looking over the group.
“Please enlighten me.” I remarked.
“He likes you, dipshit.” Evan said playfully.
“No. That’s not possible. He’s totally out of my league. He is so much better than I am in every category.”
“Okay, there are several things wrong with that statement. One, it is totally possible, and likely, that he likes you. Why wouldn’t he? Two, he isn’t better than you, you’re pretty equal or you’re better in every category. Why would you even say that? Like have you ever heard the things we hear people say about you?” Derek told you.
“Everyone loves you, especially Awsten. Actually to make a point, I’m going to go talk to him right now.” Ryan stood up and left the bus before I could protest.
“That still doesn’t answer why he wouldn’t want Geoff to talk to me.” I told them.
“He probably likes you and has marked you as his, so Geoff talking to you would go against bro code.” Tyler explained.
“I feel so stupid. God, I freaked out for nothing. I’m such an idiot.” I said.
“No, you’re just in love.” Tony told you.
“I wouldn’t go that far, Tony. But definitely crushing.” Derek said.
“Hey, guys, it’s time to start setting up.” Their manager came in and told them.
“Okay. Come one, Y/N let’s go get you back to your band.” Tyler held a hand out to help you off the couch and you took it and he pulled you into a hug. Soon after, everyone else joined in. See what I mean about supporting each other, yeah, I wasn’t kidding.
We stepped off the bus and Ryan was walking towards us, Awsten trailing behind him.
“What’s Awsten doing here?” I asked.
“Y/N, I’m officially introducing you to Awsten.” Ryan said stepping out of the way so I could see Awsten with an outstretched hand. I shook his hand.
“Dippin’ dots?” He asked.
“Okay, sure. Why not?” I replied looking back at Derek who gave an approving nod before giving me a light push forward.
Awsten took my hand and held it as we walked.
“Ryan told me about the thing with Geoff.” He said.
“Okay and?” I inquired.
“I want you to know that I would get mad at them for talking to you because I like you. I wanted to be the first of us to meet you and talk to you, but clearly fate disagreed.”
“I like you, too.”
“Be my girlfriend?” He laughed.
“Not so soon, lover boy. Why don’t we try being friends first?” I suggested.
“I agree.”
“So what was it like growing up in Houston?” I asked.
“Well…” He led into several stories from his childhood as we got dippin’ dots and told me as we were walking back to the vans. I couldn’t breathe by the time we got back because I was laughing so hard.
-Time Skip-
It was nearing the end of Warped Tour and Awsten and I grew really close. I was on my way with my band to go see them perform. The boys came out and sang their songs, as usual, but then Awsten started giving a very new speech.
“I dedicate this next song to Y/N L/N, so she’ll keep me close. Sing if you know the words.” Then Territory started playing. About halfway through the song, security came and pulled me from the crowd. When I was finally put on side stage, the song was almost over. The crew handed me a mic and Awsten motioned for me to come on stage with him. I sang along as usual, but when the song was over he grabbed my hand.
“Y/N, the third thing I ever said to you when we first met was ‘be my girlfriend?’ and you told me let’s try being friends first. I think we have gotten past the ‘friends’ stage, so will you officially be my girlfriend?”
“Well I didn’t come here to fuck spiders. Yes. I will be your girlfriend.” He gave me a tight hug, well as tight as he could manage with his guitar. One of the techs came and took it, after that he hugged me so tight that he picked me up off the ground and started spinning me. The crowd was cheering, but I could barely hear them over my own heart beat and Awsten’s breathing.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that.” He whispered in my ear.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do this.” I grabbed his face and kissed him passionately. It didn’t last long, however, because Otto and Geoff reminded him that they had a show to finish.
“I’ll talk to you after.” He said.
“Okay.”
I walked off stage and back into the crowd to find State Champs next to my band.
“You did it. You’re finally dating Awsten Knight!!” Derek screams.
“I know. I’m so happy.”
After the show, you went back to the Waterparks van because Awsten texted you to meet him there.
“Hey.” He said when he finally came in.
“Hey.” You got up and kissed him.
“I love that I can now call you my girlfriend.” He cooed.
“I love that I can call you my boyfriend, and that I can do this whenever I want now.” You gave him another kiss. This was the best Warped Tour ever.
