The terms AFAB and AMAB were coined by members of the intersex community to describe their unique and often traumatic experiences with the medical community and society at large.
They are not synonyms for male and female, and it is inappropriate to ask someone if they are AFAB or AMAB. They are also NOT gender identities.
AFAB and AMAB are designations you received at birth which may not align with your bio sex.
The trans community did not invent the terms AFAB and AMAB, however many of us find these terms useful in particular contexts.

Anti-whitewashing photoshop tutorial links!
I've seen a few gifsets recently in some of my fandoms where characters of color have been pretty badly whitewashed, so I thought I'd share a few links to tutorials which have helped me improve the coloring of POC in my gifs.
@usergif is one of my favorite overall giffing resources. They have several tutorials for coloring POC in their resources directory. This tutorial by @mohanas and this tutorial on fixing orange-washing by @maxchapman are the two I turn to most often.
This post by @anissagraces is very detailed, and this tutorial by @mitskeen also includes a link to download the psds used in the post.
In addition to the above links, this post by @evansyhelp contains a downloadable psd with multiple intensity levels for a variety of skintones you can use to enhance/improve your coloring.
Many, many thanks to the creators of the above reference materials who have taken the time to create and share these posts!
I'm a relatively new gif-maker and don't consider myself an expert by any means but am always trying to improve, especially when it comes to respecting the natural skin tone of POC in my gifs. Hopefully some will find these links helpful in doing the same. Feel free to add additional references in the replies or reblogs.

Apropos of nothing - there are ways to convey a message without using a word that may trigger someone. (I'm not talking about in fiction - as long as the warnings are clear, I think most anything is permissible)
When I was in my 20s, I learned that the word "insane" is not really appropriate for casual conversation - it's a word that has caused real harm for many people, especially in the legal system.
Now I say bananas, wild, bonkers, etc - whatever feels right in the moment.

Hi my loves 💛
I wanted to make a bit of a blanket statement regarding what fics I read and if you guys can recommend things to me, specifically your own works
I essentially read only Hotch x Reader fics, purely because I’m so far up his ass that nothing else satisfies the little itch in my brain. Any and all flavors are fine, from fluff to smut to SMUT smut to hurt/comfort or even hurt/no comfort
But unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of time to dedicate to fanfic reading anymore. I used to, but as I’m getting older, I’m working more on original works to one day be published, and those take priority -- even over my own fanfictions
In the midst of working on my original novels and poems and such, I’m also looking into graduate school scholarships; not to mention, I just have a lot on my plate personally, outside of academics and fanfiction
All that being said, I greatly appreciate it when you guys ask me if I’m interested in reading your works, and I am deeply sorry that I can’t read everything all of you write
I feel honored that you trust me enough to ask me to read your works, but please keep in mind what I’ve said above before messaging me
If you recommend a work to me that isn’t Hotch x Reader, I will most likely have to politely decline. And if you recommend me a work during a particularly busy time in my life, I’ll be 100% honest with you and let you know that I probably won’t be able to read it for a long while (but if it’s Hotch x Reader I’ll reblog it to keep it safe in my read later tag!)
And please, please don’t be rude to me if I decline, especially if your work isn’t Hotch x Reader. Block me if you want, I suppose, but it really doesn’t need to be that deep
