We need a blurb
Ivy had two different options for routines when she went into the Boston show. But when a fantastic performance from the girl before her and the fight she had with Jacob the night before when he called her clingy. It made Ivy do the harder routine even when it wasn’t perfected.
For the most part she did really well, when she came to her final move she could see her friends in the front row with no Jacob sat with them. It threw Ivy off and as she jumped she hit the turns perfectly but when she came down her hands got loose from her sides and as she slipped her head hit the ice with a thud. What made it worse was that the crowd went silent as they waited for Ivy to move, but when she didn’t the crowd began to think of the worst.
Jacob had been stood in the hall with Ryan and Gabe as he didn’t want to have to watch your performance this time on the ice because he thought he might distract you, if only he knew.

But will the tradition-loving people of San Senova allow their king to make a foreigner their queen? (x)
In My Humble Opinion: I’m not a fan of Hallmark’s royalty films. I find them boring, and usually willing to skate by on wish fulfillment instead of creating an interesting romance. As if all we need to know is that the lead character is going to be a queen, and that’s enough to call it a day. I’m also not a fan of made-for-TV Christmas movie royalty films in general. I think there’s too many of them, and that it is time to move on to a new kind of story.
So, I guess the highest praise I can give Christmas at the Palace is that I did not hate it! Was it perfect? No. But the best friend character is a lot of fun, and the narrative is willing to call the female lead on her bullshit a lot more than these things usually do. And maybe those are two tiny details in the grand scheme of things, but it was enough to keep me going during a royalty movie and I don’t know if you know this but I do not care for royalty movies.
Congratulations Christmas at the Palace. You did not understand how buying an ice skating rink works, how becoming a member of royalty works, or how throwing a last minute ice skating festival works, but you understood enough about how to craft a moderately interesting royalty narrative. In this day and age, I will take it.
Watch If: You think Christmas is good for the economy, if your whole life is one long photo opportunity or your middle name is Christmas.
Skip If: You think insomnia can be cured by sugar and caffeine, if you think socks are a fantastic Christmas gift, or if you wouldn’t be excited to stay in a drafty palace.

Tell Why I’m Waiting.

It had been days since that night, since your stupid actions had caused the mess that was now your life. You had decided that the best possible course of action was to discuss working from home with Captain Fowler, something that he actually agreed to; on serious cases you had to go to the scene of the crime, which you did anyway. You prefer being on scene at all times.
Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months and slowly you hurt less and less. Gavin became a close friend of yours, eventually asking for a date. You agreed, but later you both decided you were better as friends and he ended up dating Forensic Detective Jones, or Tiffany as she prefered to be called. It was coming up December, two months after the fateful incident and you were getting better. Though, the holidays were an awful time to be alone. You would find yourself constantly watching couples with a weight in your chest. A Connor shaped hole filled with the stones of sadness.
You strolled through central park a week before Christmas, gazing at all of the beautiful lights. They had truly outdone themselves this year, the park was lit up with soft copper lights, the trees were vibrant under the soft glow of the beautiful lights. The snow that had begun falling the day before glowed in the same lights, like a billion tiny diamonds scattered upon the earth. Although it was freezing, the scene filled you with warmth, the beauty of it all helping to brighten your spirits. This was perfect.
You sat on a wooden bench that gazed out onto the frozen water of the lake, watching people skate gleefully along the pristine ice. You sipped on the hot coco you had bought at a nearby vendor, letting the smooth liquid keeping your still body warm in the weather that raged around it. Peaceful.
A man sat beside you, his curly hair falling upon his forehead, his eyes also locked on the ice and skaters that occupied it. He seemed familiar, but because he was turned away from you slightly you shook it off as mere coincidence. You only really knew your coworkers in Detroit and most of them were hard at work at the station. That and you weren’t certain who it was, you only took a quick peek at them afterall.
The stranger turned towards you, staring at you intently, which caused you to glance up at him. You were stunned when you saw a mildly disheveled, yet somehow well put together Connor. He looked stressed, upset and... Guilty? You scanned his face with your eyes, noticing the glow of his LED was absent.
Strange, that can’t be right.
“C-Connor?” The moment your voice broke he leapt at you, scooping you into his large, safe and warm arms. His hands ran along your back, his face was pressed into your hair. He was shaking and taking large, shaky breaths. You were confused, torn and yet, somehow, relieved. You felt liquid drop onto your cheeks and realised, he was crying.
“I found you, I finally found you. I heard rumors you skipped town, I heard that you were with Gavin! No one would tell me anything that was going on with you and it scared me, but you’re here and you’re safe. You’re with me. You didn’t leave.” He was frantic, eyes wide and hands careful.
He was... different?
“Connor, what happened?” You whispered, stroking his palm to try and relieve his nerves somewhat.
“I thought I lost you, I thought that you hated me and I’m sorry! God, (Y/n), I made a mistake, I was scared when you kissed me. Now I realise...” He stopped, staring at you intently, as if he was drinking in every detail of your face. Savouring each and every crease, line, freckle, hair. Saving it to memory.
“Realise what? Connor?” You snapped your fingers and he grabbed your hand, pulling it to his chest, placing it flat against it. You could feel his thirium pump beating hard, it was a solid rhythm that only faltered once you looked up into his eyes.
“Now I realise that you make this beat, every second of every day. When you left, something changed. I-I knew, I just knew that it was you, you changed me; you became my everything. I breathed for you, I felt for you, I- Fuck- I love you. I’ll say it everyday, I’ll scream it if I must, I love you (Y/n).” You froze, he was a mess, but he was your mess if you wanted him; so you did the only thing you could in that moment, you nodded. You were in complete shock, so that was your only reaction that seemed to make some sense.
With that nod Connor took your face into his gentle hands and kissed you, stroking your skin tenderly and holding you against him with care. You felt electric, it was if someone had lit a thousand fireworks inside you, you were filled with pure joy and Love.
“I’m sorry I made you wait, I’m sorry I didn’t discover that my real mission, the most important one, had been with you all along.” He stroked your hair, his chocolate eyes were locked with yours and were brimming with passion and absolute adoration.
“You’re a deviant Connor.”
“Deviancy is worth everything, if I get spend every second of it with you.”
“Forever?”
“Forever.”

The BC boys being possessive of their girls.
Gabe: very differently to Jamie, everyone knows when Gabe is jealous of guys talking to Jamie. Players on the other teams will talk about her as she is of course a female on a male team but it actually kills him having to hear what they actually say about her so nine times out of ten he is tackling these guys and body slamming them into the boards. When he does it too he will straight up to “talk about my girl like that again and we will have problems.” That girl is his entire world when they get together and Gabe isn’t afraid to admit it. And he looks really hot when he gets angry so Jamie won’t complain.
Jacob: whilst he trusts Ivy 1000% it’s the other guys he doesn’t trust. So when she gets a doubles partner Jacob is at almost every rehearsal and preformance in the front row cheering on only Ivy.
Ryan: if you had ever told Ryan he’d be getting jealous of a guy in a musical he would have laughed. But lo and behold he does as he watches Ava kiss these guys. He knows it’s for a performance but one time one of the guys she had to kiss suggested that they rehearsed it so Ava told Ryan who straight up went to the poor guys dorm “coming from her boyfriend she’s a fucking great kisser so enjoy the privilege you have of kissing her and not having me punch you in the face afterwards.
Will: rarely does he get possessive because he knows that Bailey is the mother of his CHILD and that will never change. But sometimes when he does feel a little jealous he just goes “baby you see how Max is?” As he looks at the guy who she is talking to “yeah we have a kid together.” And Will, will flash a picture of them with Max and that usually has the boy running.
Cutter: he HATES how the football players talk about her so for a while Lillian would go find Cutter right after the games and she’d kiss him making sure that the football players could see it “like showing you off.” Cutter smiled as he got all soft.

jacob is tending to all of ivy’s needs after she gets out of the hospital
Jacob could barely sleep even once she got back because he was just so worried that something might happen to her. So even as she’s sleeping in bed next to him he just watches her.
This one morning Ivy could feel him staring “it’s rude to watch someone sleep.” She mumbled still keeping her eyes shut “it’s not when you love them.” He shot back making her eyes shoot open.
But it made him panic “is there anything you want me to do or get for you?” Jacob practically shot up as he began panicking.
As Ivy groaned he stopped “can you just hold me?” She pouted wanting a cuddle. Jacob just stopped as he got into bed with her as he kissed her head.
Just as he was starting to fall asleep Ivy tried to grab her water bottle “baby what are you doing?” He asked feeing her shift “just wanted more water.” Before Ivy could point to her bottle Jacob is up and headed to her mini fridge to get the Brita.
Ivy knows she can’t have sex right now but part of her just wants to drop her to knees for him.

Jacob couldn’t stop pacing around her room as he just pictured her lifeless body on that ice “yeah she’s okay.” Jacob mumbled hearing Ryan give the updates to the rest of the group as they were in the car trying to get there without crashing the car “just sleeping.” He mumbled as she began to stir “Jac?” Ivy’s voice was soft as she tried to bring her hand to her head as it throbbed “I’ve got to go.” He mumbled hanging up as he walked to his girlfriend “how are you feeling?” Jacob sat next to her bed as he reached out to hold her hand “like I’ve just been hit.” Ivy grumbled as she felt her body ache.

Ryan and Gabe had to watch their friend as he dropped to his knees "she has to get up." Jacob pleaded as he clutched his cap "please guys why isn't she getting up." He rambled as he began to panic "she will be okay dude." Gabe nodded to himself not believing his answer.
By the time the boys got him up they watched Ivy get strechered off to the back "c'mon you should be in the ambulance with her." Ryan's voice was quiet as he patted Jacob's back ushering the boys to the back where they knew she would be.

They were walking back to her dorm after Ivy made them walk to the Chinese restaurant down the road from the campus. It was cold in early December but they didn’t care “what are we?” Ivy cut Jacob’s rambling off as she looked at him.
Jacob’s eyes went wide “what do you want to be?” He shot back “well it’s just my mom was asking me and-” her cheeks turned red as she realised she said too much “you’ve told your mom about me?” Jacob thought it was adorable like honestly he just wanted to wrap her up and hold her because he thought it was so sweet.
When she didn’t respond he stopped them both “I want you if that’s worth anything.” His words were soft as a smile spread across her face “you asking me to be your girlfriend?” Ivy had never had a serious boyfriend before so this had her internally squealing “Ivy Bell I’m asking you to put up with me as your boyfriend.” As he nodded Ivy giggled “I’d love that.” She pushed herself onto her tippy toes to kiss him.

but jacob gets the wrong idea and isn’t talking to the teammate then 😭
Ivy goes to Drew because she thinks he looks the least scary (Jamie 1000% was heard telling Gabe to stop sucking himself off because nobody needed to stroke their own ego in the way he did, and that made Ivy kind of scared of Jamie) and Ivy didn’t regret that decision “I seriously owe you with my life.” She pulled him into a hug after she slotted her phone with Jacob’s number into her pocket.
It made Drew laugh as he shook his head “don’t worry about it.” He watched as his teammates walked into the library. As Ivy went one way Jacob and Will came from another “you jerk!” Jacob whisper yelled as he sent his teammate a glare “you know I like her.” He added complaining as he thought that Drew had just impressed her.
Drew’s eyes went wide “bro that’s not-” he wanted to laugh because if Jacob knew the truth he would have felt so bad “not cool.” Jacob grumbled headed for his table “so did she give you her number or did you give her Jacob’s?” Will smirked as he crossed his arms “she’s so in love with that man already that we better hope he doesn’t find a different girlfriend.”

Jamie is so competitive with drinking games so all of the girls end up getting so drunk as they try to keep up with her.
All of the boys get caught up having to keep an eye on their girls they are forced into babysitting duty "did you see Ivy?" Jacob asked Gabe as he was trying to sober Jamie up are she told him that she wanted go swimming in the fountain on campus (in the middle of winter) "sorry bu-" Gabe went to apologise as he shook his head "there!" Jamie's eyes lit up seeing Ivy on top of the table "Ivy baby please be safe!" Jacob groaned darting over to where she was.

Boston was humid as the sun barely hung over the trees when Ivy went to her morning practice. It was her first week there and it had her running through the campus as she had to get to practice but of course, she was late.
Ivy pushed into the arena not noticing how Jacob was walking in her direction. Before she knew it Ivy was on her ass and she was looking at the pretty by in front of her "I'm so sorry." Ivy blurted out as she saw her coffee that had been knocked over and on the floor "me too!" Jacob seemed to feel the same way as he smiled.
He was quick to get up grabbing her bag and her empty coffee tumbler from the floor "I am so sorry about all that." Jacob was quick to apologise as he held his hand out to help her up "don't sweat it." Ivy shook her head not wanting to push it any further "look I should let you go, but do you maybe want to get coffee sometime?" Jacob proposed as he shrugged "on me of course." Ivy smiled as she nodded.
The boys watched Jacob grin as he walked over to them "who was that?" Ryan teased with a smile wondering who on earth Ivy was "I have no clue." Jacob's jaw dropped as he had forgotten to ask about the most important thin, her name.

Lillian: Cutter knows that Lillian is clingy so he spends most of his nights out with her. When he doesn’t spent the time with her Cutter low-key ends up missing her more than she misses him. But when he does go and girls try to talk to him Lillian has no shame in walking right over to kiss Cutter “hey baby.” Cutter smiled as she hugged him.
The other girls quickly leave because they know it is truly not worth staying when he is so in love with her.
Ava: because of everything that happened Ryan doesn’t shut up about Ava when she’s not there “you met my girlfriend?” “Ava the theatre major and the girl who got the lead in the winter play.” The boys tease the shit out of Ryan for it but it does a lot for Ava’s confidence because Ryan comes running to her when girls try to get all handsy “baby kiss me!” He’d plead cupping her face as he’d go to kiss her.
Bailey: she just calls Will her baby daddy whenever she wants his undivided attention “you know he’s my baby daddy right?” Bailey would announce as girls would horribly try to flirt with him “he didn’t mention that he had a baby.” The girl would snap as she glared at Bailey “Will can I borrow your phone real quick?” Will of course hands it to Bailey who turns it on and shows the girls the picture of Bailey, Max and him sleeping on the couch.
Ivy: Jacob didn’t know at the beginning how jealous Ivy would get. Ivy would watch girls flirt with Jacob and she could do nothing about it but the next time she’d see him Ivy would instantly get touchy with him. She didn’t like to admit it but she always made sure that she was on Jacob’s mind 24/7. Like one time he slept with another girl before they were dating and he accidentally called her Ivy.
Jamie: bless her soul but she is HORRIBLE at communicating how she feels. So usually she ends up just going quiet as she holds Gabe’s hand. This man eats up the attention from her until he realises that she keeps on glaring at girls around them “you jealous pretty girl?” Gabe teased bumping his shoulder with hers.
She rolled her eyes as she shook her head “shut up Gabe.” Jamie grumbled making him frown “only want you.” Gabe mumbled into her ear catching how it made her smile.
Jamie ignored the way her cheeks turned red “really?” Her uncertainty made him laugh “of course.” The moment he pecks her lips she’s good for the rest of the night.

we’ve just spoken about gabe with the enemies to lovers teammate so I’ll introduce Jacob and the figure skater.
but also here’s a mix of names I like and ones you guys suggested: Jamie, Calloway, Delta, Celeste, Betty, Jackie, Brynn, and Rose
Jacob and the figure skater met when she was late to practice one morning and as he was leaving the rink he bumped into her and of course all of her things she was carrying fell onto the floor. Jacob from that moment was infatuated with her because whilst she is doing all of these big routines on the ice, she is one of the shyest people on this planet and always freezes up whenever Jacob comes around to her.
It makes him think that she doesn’t like him but as Bailey and Lillian refuse to let him believe anything other than it just being her nature until you get to know her (Bailey has a class with her and the cheer team have the same gym slot as the ice skating team!) so they decide to study her and Jacob one day and sure enough they knew they were right.
As he really wants to spend more time with her he convinces her to come to the ice with him when neither one of them have practice, she teaches him some stuff about skating and he teaches her some stuff about ice hockey. But (either he accidentally does something like a lift or she is doing an actual routine) but she gets hurt and it finally makes Jacob accept that he doesn’t just see her as a friend, he actually sees her as a whole heck of a lot more than that.
