[ La fine del viaggio è solamente un nuovo inizio ]

Eccomi qui, giunto alla fine del mio lungo viaggio, seduto al terminal dell’aeroporto mentre aspetto l’aereo che mi riporterà a casa. In genere, tutto inizia e finisce con un volo, come un cerchio che si apre e si chiude.

Sembra passato un giorno da quando sono salito sul primo aereo per raggiungere la Spagna, invece sono trascorsi quasi quattro mesi. Giorni e settimane intense, dove ho visto posti incredibili, ho attraversato l’Oceano e conosciuto persone speciali. Da una parte sono triste per essere giunto all’epilogo di questa straordinaria avventura ma, in realtà, a prevalere è il senso di gratitudine per aver vissuto una esperienza unica che porterò sempre con me e nessuno potrà mai cancellare.

Ci siamo, il mio volo è stato appena chiamato. Mi avvio all’imbarco con gli altri passeggeri, lentamente, quasi a voler assaporare anche l’ultimo istante vissuto in questa bellissima parte di mondo che mi ha regalato tante emozioni. Prendo il mio posto vicino al finestrino e attendo la partenza. Dopo aver preso quota mi perdo nei miei pensieri, non c’è verso di dormire. Osservo il panorama fuori dal finestrino, oltre le nuvole c’è l’Oceano e guardarlo, anche da quassù, mi emoziona.

Non so se è solamente la mia immaginazione ma ho l’impressione di scorgere in lontananza una barca a vela, simile alla Creuza de mä, la fantastica barca su cui ho vissuto dei giorni indimenticabili durante la traversata dell’Atlantico. Sorrido, mi sembra di rivedere tutto come in un film: le onde, gli amici dell’equipaggio, il caldo dei tropici, i tramonti sull’Oceano, il senso di libertà che solo il mare ti può dare.

Esistono molti motivi per i quali viaggiamo, sicuramente tutti validi. Ma io credo che viaggiare, conoscere nuovi posti, nuove persone e culture diverse, sia un passaggio fondamentale per allargare i nostri orizzonti e trasformarci nella versione migliore di noi stessi. Per questo il ritorno a casa non deve essere visto come la “fine” ma semplicemente come un nuovo inizio, un altro avvincente capitolo della nostra storia. Una volta tornati, infatti, non saremo mai uguali a prima e riusciremo a vedere i luoghi a cui apparteniamo e le persone che amiamo con occhi diversi, più veri, più sinceri.

E adesso, mentre cala il sipario su questa esperienza memorabile, credo di essere finalmente pronto per intraprendere un nuovo cammino, con uno spirito rinnovato ed una maggiore consapevolezza. Ma una parte di me continuerà sempre ad avere bisogno dell’Oceano e, ne sono convinto, un giorno tornerò su quella barca per continuare a sognare tra il cielo, il vento ed il mare.

Perché in fondo, una volta che l’Oceano ti entra dentro, sarai legato a lui per sempre.
