The Doctor watched as the Tardis wheezed then dematerialised. 

That was new.

All of this was. 

He didn’t realise that he’d been simply staring into the space left behind… he’d been left behind too, in a way. He knew it wouldn’t have worked out well, him and the Doctor, neither of them were made to be companions, this version of him especially seemed to be unsuitable for the job of being the Doctor's Wrangler. 

He tried to hide his jump when he felt a nudge on his shoulder. He covered it up with a quick smile, just a small one, at Donna who was looking up at him in concern. 

“You alright?” 

She’d asked him that so many times, to this face, and the same face on his younger self. He didn’t lie to Donna, as a general rule, but he had never been good at admitting that he wasn’t okay, actually.

He had been working on it. 

“You know me.” 

He looked down at his bare feet, bi-generation had left him with only half of their clothes, and he couldn’t help but wonder if he’d come out as better considering he was now shoe-less and commando. 

“Yeah. I do.”

Her firm tone forced him to look back at his best friend. If he didn’t think she’d hit him he would have pointed out that when she looked at him like she was now, she reminded him a bit too much of Sylvia. 

He tilted his head to the side, lowering his voice so only Donna could hear him. “I guess I just… kind of expected him to have popped back by now. Not to stay,” he added quickly, “just… y’know.” 

He felt her hand take hold of his and squeeze, so he squeezed back. 

“I’m sure he’ll be back to visit, some day. I mean, I kept getting to see this old face, didn’t I?”

He glanced at Kate and Shirley, who were talking about something, he should probably help them, should probably figure out a way to fix the human race again. But he just couldn’t. He felt a lump in his throat, and squeezed Donna’s hand again. “You were one of the few… I should have… you were different.” 

There was silence and understanding between the two of them for a minute or two. 

“I think he was right, that version of you, you need to work on yourself first. I mean… you’re kind of a mess.”

The Doctor barked out a laugh, feeling some of the weight lift off of his shoulders. 

“Yeah, I guess…. I guess he’s right.” he thought back to the hug from his older self, he wished it had been longer, it had been stabilising, but now he was cast adrift. He didn’t know what came next. 

So he did what he always did. 

He put on a smile, and raised his voice, adding levity, and an easy smile.

“I should probably help Kate, and Shirley, y’know fix this mess your lot have got yourselves into this time.” 

Apparently Kate Lethbridge Stewart had been polite in pretending not to listen to his and Donna’s conversation, as she immediately turned to him, holding a screen in her hands, starting to hold it out to him. 

“We have-”

“No.” Donna’s voice silenced Kate immediately, The Doctor still didn’t know how she did that, he supposed he could do it too, but Donna managed to even shut himself up, and he’d always sucked at getting himself to shut up.

“I-”

“No,” Donna repeated, glaring at the Doctor now, even though it had been Shirley who had tried to interrupt that time. “You heard him, you heard you. You’re not doing anything other than coming home with me, eating whatever my mum’s cooked, and having a kip.”

He had the decency to look away from her, down at the floor again, as he tried to stretch the truth a little, “I’ll be okay, I’ll do that, but I’ll help here first.” He looked at Donna again, begging her to understand, as she always did, he needed to do something, to not feel useless. 

To prove he could still be The Doctor.

She just shook her head with a sad smile on her face, “Not this time Doctor.” She squeezed his upper arm, looking not at him now but at Kate. “I’ll be taking him home, you lot can handle this. He’s grounded, Doctor’s orders.” 

“Donna, “ he grumbled, “I can’t be grounded, I’m a billion years old and a Timelord with a Tardis, and a million more lives to live.”

She just rolled her eyes at him. 

He loved her but she couldn’t half annoy him sometimes, it was clear to her that she disagreed with him being ‘unable to be grounded’. Kate just nodded at Donna, not looking at him, whereas Shirley kind of smirked at him. She was trouble, good trouble, he’d have to take her on an adventure, if she would go. 

Donna was talking to Kate about something, The Doctor wasn’t paying attention, and she still had hold of him, as though he was about to jump in his box and run away… he supposed she might have a point with that one. 

“C’mon, martian,” she pulled him fondly as she started to walk away from the Tardis, “We’ll catch a lift off this lot, the Tardis will follow us, or go where she goes when she ditches you. We’ll get you well, and then we can go on some adventures.”

He looked back at the Tardis, as though she’d be able to intercede on his behalf, she didn’t. Traitor. So he followed after Donna, trusting her to find the way out of this place. 

“Oh,” Donna called over her shoulder at the leader at Unit, “and send me the contract, I’m sure you have all my details, 150K a year we said, right, and 6 weeks holiday?”

The Doctor smiled faintly, he didn’t know the details she’d worked out, but he was almost certain that she had just given herself a promotion. 

The first challenge he faced was a seatbelt, refusing to put it on until Donna had glared at him and told him he’d be walking soon, still without shoes. He’d clicked the belt on, grumbling under his breath. 

Donna chatted to the Unit soldier who was driving them, something about the time Atmos nearly filled the world with gas to prepare the world for the Sontaruns, about his trick with the tennis ball, and nearly sacrificing himself. The Doctor didn’t join in, he just zoned out, knowing he was safe to do so when Donna was with him. 

He had shuffled into Donna’s home, still shoeless, he should acquire some shoes soon, or at least some socks. He was quiet as Donna announced to her family that he’d be staying in their spare room for a while, until he was ‘better’ in her words. He kind of hoped one of them would protest, give him an excuse to stay in the Tardis, he wouldn’t go away, but he’d be able to keep his distance. 

But none of them bothered: Shaun seemed pretty easy going, genuinely nice, saying ‘Y’right mate?” with an easy smile. Sylvia looked apprehensive, just ever so slightly, but she was clearly trying, she knew now that him being there wouldn’t actively kill Donna, still she sent him a smile, before excusing herself to the kitchen to cook him a ‘proper meal’, he guessed he wasn’t sure the last time he had eaten. Rose, Donna’s Rose, smiled at him, before Donna quickly made it very very clear to her, and to the Doctor, that neither of them, or anyone at all, would be using the Tardis until she said so. 

He’d find a way around that, but maybe not right now, he wouldn’t push it yet. 

He was led upstairs to the spare room, sparsely decorated; with a bed, a wardrobe, and a bedside table. The walls were blue, not Tardis blue, but blue enough that he knew some part of Donna had remembered. 

He let himself drop onto the bed. 

“Doctor…. Are you okay?” 

Her voice was so soft, and he was so lost, he tried to swallow the lump in his throat again, but this time it didn’t work. “I don’t know…. I don’t know anything, what to do, who I am… What I am…. I just,” he let out a breath feeling tears in his eyes. Before he knew it she had her arms around him, sitting on the bed beside him, holding him close. 

He clung to her, his best friend, his lifeboat. 

“I don’t… I’m not okay, Donna.”

“I know,” she soothed him, no trace of the teasing they often had between them. “It’s going to be okay though, it’ll just take a while, and a lot of work. But you have me, you have a family Doctor, you’re not alone. You can breathe now, you can stop, you don’t need to worry about anything right now.” 

“I’m so tired,” he admitted, feeling each and every year of his life he’d lived since he had last had this old face. 

“You can tell me about it, when you’re ready, about it all.” 

“Is this what I do now?” he pulled away from her, but didn’t move from sitting beside her, their knees both touching, grounding him still, “Just sit here and cry.”

“Sure. That’s what I did, a lot, when I forgot you, I mean I didn’t know why obviously. It was hard, really hard, but I had my mum, and my grandad, they let me be sad, and then they helped me move on. They’re experts at this, and I’m the world expert in The Doctor, “ she smirked at that, “Between us all we can figure it out.”

He smiled back at her, it wasn’t a huge beaming energetic smile, but it was full of his heart. He didn’t know what he had done to deserve her, if he did deserve her of course, which right then he wasn’t sure he was. 

“First things first, you need some clothes, Shauns will be big on you, but considering you two split the clothes between you and he was wearing the pants….”

The Doctor groaned, throwing himself back to lie on the bed, covering his eyes with his hands, “Don’t. Why’d… I mean couldn’t the universe have just given us both clothes?”

Donna snorted, “She’s got a sense of humour, the universe.”

The Doctor couldn’t help but agree, uncovering his eyes as he watched Donna leave the room. 

He let his eyes fall shut, taking in a deep breath.

Mysterious green ooze from the earth's core that turns people into blue werewolves called Primords. We're treated to AU Benton turning into a Primord. The slowly building pressure and stress across the seven episodes, until the penultimate one where the alarm is constantly blaring, and the few remaining survivors have to not only escape the threat of the Primords but also escape the explosion that is imminent. The fact that the whole thing is basically hopeless, they're all going to die and there's no way to stop it because nobody listened to the Doctor. You join the conference for UNIT personnel just in the nick of time. The missives to attend came just thirty minutes before the meeting itself was to start and everyone was a bustle of whispers and gossip as to why.

Your eyes scan the hall and land on Tamara Hinkle sequestered at the very back, hiding out. She’d joined UNIT almost around the same time you had. She was very reserved but offered genuine kindness in every conversation you'd been engaged in.

“Any ideas?” You slip in beside her.

“None whatsoever,” Tamara yawns. “I’m knackered. Our Tommy kept us up past god’s own hour, swear me brain is melting out me ears.”

You nod in sudden recollection. Tamara and her partner had just had a baby. “Poor thing, I’m sure he’ll settle soon,” you offer a reassuring pat to her shoulder, “as will you.”

Tamara smiles warmly at you.

The lights dimmed and the Kate Lethbridge-Stewart steps up front, prompting the hall to quiet promptly.

Word was, that the Doctor no longer traveled with the Pond-Williams, and that they had also proved to be MIA as of last week. Surveillance of their flat in London reported that the house they owned remained unoccupied, and jobs have remained unattended. There were no reports of what exactly transpired, and the Doctor has since gone radio silent. There was also no such sight of him in the present day.

“It is UNIT’s duty to pick up the slack,” Kate Lethbridge-Stewart intones. “The Doctor will turn up again, in his own time. We will do what we always do, and I urge you to use this lull in time to push any paperwork you’ve left unfinished to the forefront. The holidays are upon us, and as we know, that’s when things get exciting.”

Most of the room chuckles, knowing well that invasions and Christmas were just the way of things.

“I also want to ask you all refrain from speculation, if the Doctor’s companions are no longer traveling with him this is a delicate transitional period for all involved. Thank you for attending, good work everyone,” Kate dismisses the room.

Tamara huffs beside you, her voice hushed and low when she says, “Weren’t expecting that. Looks like the paperwork malaise for you and me, my sweet. See you at the end.”

You nod your assent at her departure, head lost in a fog around the name Pond for reasons you couldn’t even begin to parse. The harder you tried, the farther you felt from a probable conclusion. It was so strange, grasping at virtually nothing, and all for a name you probably only heard in passing in connection with the Doctor. A name that had nothing to do with you….

“Hey!”

You were jolted from your musings and startled by the realization that the hall was empty, and you were alone. Where a moment ago people were just beginning to file out, not one single other person remained.

“Pssst!”

“Hello?” You push away from the wall and hurry to the entering archway, poking your head out.

A man lounges against the opposite wall, arms crossed, shadowed by the faltering light.

“Good, you’re late,” he orders, curling an impatient finger at you before walking down the corridor in swift strides.

“I think I need to – ”

“Tet, tet, tet, irrelevant,” he cries, pausing at the nearest lift and gesturing. “Get in.”

“But I – oh my god,” it suddenly hits you why the lights are so dim. Why there are no personnel bustling about the corridor and not a single sound on the entire floor.

 It’s after hours. It was just midday, but now there is only you and... him.

“Blast! Must I always hurry this along,” he takes a steadying breath and buries his face in his palm. “Tedious. All of you. Especially you,” he points your way. “Let’s get this over with, then.”

It’s terrifying how quickly he reaches you, how alarm bells are going off in your head, and despite it all you remain so, so very stationary.

He leans in very close, crouching forward to cage you in and rid you of all your space. An intimidation act for certain. You meet his glare with terrifying pluck, stomach-churning in the face of his menacing aura.

“Are you scared?”

A tear rolls down the side of your face, “Do you want me to be?”

The Master gives a vicious grin before enunciating, “Remember.”

Cubes. Tweed. Ginger. Unit files. Dark eyes. Malevolence, curiosity, adrenaline. Forget.

You blink and suddenly all that was ungraspable earlier in the day slots into place. The fog disperses.

You ran into the Master the very day that the Doctor and Amelia Pond corresponded with UNIT, and then he made you forget.

The Master throws his head back and laughs, “Oh, well done. You’re not a deficient one.”

“You’re, I know who you –”

His words are entirely measured and chilling, “Don’t you interrupt me, it’s rude.”

“I’ve been called worse,” you whisper, brushing the tears off your face and trying hard to disguise the way your body has started shaking.

The Master takes in the state of you disinterestedly, “Are you quite done?”

“If you’re going to kill me, just go ahead and get it over with,” you snap with unexpected heat, clamping your mouth shut immediately after. You don’t know what’s gotten into you but testing the Master is certainly not the route you need to be going down. He is known to be volatile and mercurial.

“I’m not going to kill you, puppet,” the Master says with a saccharine smile. He pushes your hair behind your shoulder, “You’re going to help me.”

“I’m just a student,” you stammer, “I’ve got no jurisdictions here.”

“See, that’s where you’re wrong,” the Master says, “See, that was true, when we met, but that isn’t the case anymore.”

“What are you talking about?! I’m here for experience in the field, for my hours," you promise, "that’s all!”

“Ah,” his knowing grin gives you a terrible sense of unease, “you see, it’s not just me making you forget things. You’ve made clearance and now you’ll walk me in.”

“Clearance? F– for what? Where?”

The Master looks fit to bursting with satisfaction, “The Black Archive.”

The Doctor strolled through the Panopticon. A slight breeze ruffled his long brown hair. Smiling, he took out his pocket watch. It was always exactly the same time. A time where he was happy. A time where he was safe. A time where he was loved. The Time Lord heard running footsteps behind him. Grace. She bounded up to him and gave him a peck on the lips.

“What do you think of my home?” said the Doctor, still smiling.

“It’s…”

Grace laughed.

“It’s beautiful.”

“Isn’t it just. The Daleks have seemingly vanished from the face of the cosmos, and the universe has never been more peaceful.”

“Oi, Professor!”

The Doctor turned. Ace was there. She was wearing Time Lord robes and had in her hands a shimmering silver scroll.

“I passed Professor. I’m a Time Lord now.”

“That’s wonderful!” cried the Doctor.

“Old Doc. Chronotis says I can visit Perivale whenever I want. But I’ve got a lot of stuff still here to do.”

“That man never changes.” laughed the Doctor.

“I say, Doctor, is that you?”

The Doctor looked around. Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart stood before him, smiling.

“Planet Earth is safer than it has ever been thanks to you, Doctor. Just last week we declared world peace.”

“That’s wonderful.” said the Doctor.

A gigantic fanfare of trumpets startled the Doctor and his friends. Rassilon strode through the Panopticon accompanied by a guard of honour. Upon seeing the Doctor his face erupted into a dazzling grin.

“Theta Sigma, you have distinguished yourself as Gallifrey’s greatest and most worthy offspring.” he said.

“For this reason I am pleased to confer upon you the Freedom of All Space and Time!”

The Doctor grinned.

“That’s excellent news!”

Rassilon inclined his head slightly.

“I believe that there are others among us who wish to speak with you.”

Before the Doctor’s eyes were Leela and Narvin. They embraced the Doctor in a group hug.

“Doctor I – we – would be most honoured if you were to attend our upcoming wedding.” said Leela.

“Leela, Leela, of course, I’d be only too happy to.” said the Doctor.

“Doctor.”

He would have known that voice anywhere. No matter if he had lived to outlast reality itself, the voice of his best friend would always bring him home.

“Hello Sarah Jane.” said the Doctor.

“I’m back.” said Sarah Jane.

“And I’m never going to leave you again.”

“Grandfather!”

Susan ran across the Panopticon’s beautiful floors. The Doctor swept her up in a hug.

“Susan! Not a day older than when I last saw you!”

The Doctor’s friends and family surrounded him in a semicircle. Everyone was smiling. Everyone was happy. Everything was perfect.

“This never happened.”

The woman was dressed in Karn Sisterhood robes. She moved inexorably towards the Doctor like approaching nightfall.

“I’m sorry. What never happened?” said the Doctor.

The woman gestured to the Doctor’s loved ones.

“This. All of this. It was just a comforting fantasy that I created in your mind.”

“I don’t know who you are, but I’d like you to leave now please.” said the Doctor.

“You have my most sincere apologies.” said the woman.

“For what?” said the Doctor.

As the Doctor watched the people around him faded away like ghosts. He was alone on a battlefield littered with burnt out Dalek casings. In the distance Gallifrey’s citadel burned.

The Doctor sank to his knees. Tears leaked from his eyelids.

“Why?” he whispered.

“Why?!” he exclaimed.

“WHY?!” he yelled to the red sky.

“Because you deserve some measure of happiness.” said the woman.

We’re very proud to highlight a significant agricultural construction management project that was phased and spanned across 4 years, recently finishing up in September of 2023!

As general contractors in Lethbridge, one of our major focus areas is expanding our footprint, knowledge and experience on major agricultural projects – and building long standing relationships with producers, farmers, and agricultural stakeholders throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Project Details

Project Type: New Build Sector: Agriculture – Hay Storage Location: Blood Reserve near Stand Off, Alberta Timeline: Fall 2019 – Fall 2023 Project Size: Construction of four pre-engineered rigid frame buildings, one 200’ x 300’ in size and three 325’ x 390’ in size (total of 440,250 sq.ft.)

Construction of four pre-engineered rigid frame buildings in multiple phases over a four year period.

The first 3 sheds (one 200' x 300' and two 325' x 390') were built and packaged under one contract and completed in early 2021.

All three sheds were constructed with an asphalt floor, which provides for a clean, dry base for the hay shed to rest on.

We bid on the fourth shed (325' x 390') in the Fall of 2022 and were awarded the contract, with construction beginning in the Spring of 2023. This shed is nearly identical to the first three, but has roller compacted concrete (RRC) flooring instead.

Subtrade Scope

While SWMW was responsible for supplying and erecting the steel building with our own forces, we also managed and coordinated a number of subtrades on site. Some civil and site work included in this construction management project consisted of stripping and clearing the site, stockpiling the existing topsoil, common excavation and ditch work, supplying and installing the gravel base course, and installing over 100 concrete piles up to 25' deep.

It’s important to us to maintain strong relationships and superior communication with our valued subtrade partners – working closely with them ensures that these large, detailed projects go smoothly without a hitch.

Project Challenges

Constructing such a large structure in the open plains of southern Alberta means that the strong winds in this area posed a significant challenge, but our previous experience working in these types of conditions aided us in overcoming this challenge.

We put precautions in place, such as ensuring extra crew members were on the job site to help keep things running smoothly and designing custom bracing to ensure the buildings were secure during even the most severe wind conditions.

Chapter Twenty-Six

"You've let this place go a bit," the Warrior grumbles.

"Ah, it's his grunge phase. He grows out of it," Chinny grins.

Sophie jumps up the stairs, moving around the console to the jump seat. She collapses into the chair, crossing her legs underneath herself.

"Don't you listen to them," the Time Lord says, running his hands along the console. An alarm sound through the room, the Gallifreyan reeling back as it sends a shock through his hand, "Ow! The desktop is glitching."

The walls change around them, the room becoming brighter, as the TARDIS interior blinks to one from before the Time War. The walls fill with roundels, the floor once again the tile. As the room changed, the jump seat vanished, and Sophie hit the floor, hard. "Ow!" She exclaims, moving to stand off the floor.

Sandshoes smiles, walking over to help her up.

"Three of us from different time zones. It's trying to compensate," the Warrior says.

"Maybe it could compensate faster?" she grumbles.

"Hey, look," the oldest Time Lord says, "The round things."

"I love the round things."

"What are the round things?"

"No idea."

The TARDIS console starts to spark once again, the oldest Doctor bouncing up to it, "Oh dear, the friction contrafibulator." He flips a switch, the sparks disappearing, "Ha! There, stabilised."

Suddenly, almost like whiplash, the room around them changes again. The console isn't plain like it was, it has a top with Circular Gallifreyan words carved into it. The floor beneath their feet turns to glass, and railings appear behind them, where beyond you can fall to the lower level. Sophie relaxes her shoulders, hoping that that's the last change that will happen.

Sandshoes looks around at the console room, a deep frown forming on his face, his eyebrows furrowing, "Oh, you've redecorated. I don't like it."

Chinny, who had been looking at him with a yappy smile, morphs his face into a more playful glare, "Oh. Oh yeah? Oh, you never do." He once again bounces up to the console, his hands finding the exact buttons and switches he needs to begin to navigate the time/space machine. "Listen, we're going to the National Gallery. The Zygons are underneath it."

"No," Clara says, jumping up to stand beside him. She claps her hands, "UNIT HQ. They followed us there in the Black Archive." All she gets in return from the rest of the squad are stares of anger mixed with annoyance. "Okay, so you've heard of that, then."

Sophie shakes her head in frustration, "Well this is just bl**dy brilliant! This plan is going about as well as I'd hoped."

It takes a little while of the bow tie clad Doctor searching through cubbys, and storage rooms with in the immense ship, but he eventually returns small machine clutches in his arms.

After all three Doctor's crowd around and fiddle with it a little, a voice begins to filter through the dusty speakers, "Somewhere in your memory is a man called Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge Stewart. I am his daughter."

"Wait...the Brig has a daughter in UNIT? Wow! That feels an important detail to have mentioned, Doc," Sophie says, turning to glance at the oldest Time Lord.

"Shush, I'm making a call," he says, shooting a pointed look. Picking up the old microphone off the machine, he shouts, "Science leads, Kate. Is that what you meant? Is that what your father meant?"

"Doctor?"

"Space-Time Telegraph, Kate. A gift from me to your father, hotline straight to the Tardis."

Quietly, so the mike can't pick up her voice, Sophie mutters to herself, "That makes three. Three people with a direct line. Gotta make a note of that."

The Doctor just plows on, "I know about the Black Archive and I know about the security protocol. Kate, please. Please tell me you are not about to do something unbelievably stupid."

"I'm sorry, Doctor. Switch it off."

The spikey-haired Doctor looks up, rushing his hands through his hair, "Not as sorry as you will be. This is not a decision you will ever be able to live with."

"Kate, we're trying to bring the Tardis in. Why can't we land?" Chinny asks.

"I said, switch it off."

"No, Kate, please. Just listen to me!" he pleads, but receives only static in return. Begrudgingly, he tosses the microphone back onto the console.

Sophie shakes her head, letting her own frustration show as she lightly kicks the console, "Bl**dy UNIT with their stupid, bl**dy TARDIS-proof tower."

"How can they do that?" Clara asks.

"Alien technology plus human stupidity. Trust me, it's unbeatable," the Doctor grouches.

"We don't need to land," the Warrior states, a smile playing on his face.

"Yeah, we do," Pinstripes says, before tilting his head, "A tiny bit. Try and keep up."

"No, we don't," the youngest Time Lord shakes his head vehemently, "We don't. There is another way," he rounds the console, making his way to the clear cube. He nods, pointing at the statistics cube, "Cup-a-soup. What is cup-a-soup?"

"Well, it's this little packet of powder...and you just like, throw that powder into a mug. Then you pour hot water over the powder, like boiling water, and you stir it, and then blam-o, soup," Sophie explains, helpfully.

The Warrior somewhat nods, "I guess I can kind of see the relation to the statis cube."

"No, you can't," Sandshoes says.

"You're right I can't. Now, the only issue is, which painting do we enter?"

"And how do we get to the Tower of London?"

Chinny glances at Clara, "I know the painting, and I'm fairly sure how to."

The eldest Time Lord sums up his plan to the squad, and doesn't await feedback. He swings open the TARDIS doors, grabbing the phone off the hook. Quickly dialing a number, it's a few moments before he shouts onto the phone, whilst avoiding being thrown into the vortex, "Take a look at your phone and confirm who you're talking to." There's a brief pause, before he plows on, "You were just talking to me. I know. I'm a time traveller, figure it out. I need you to send the Gallifrey Falls painting to the Black Archive. Understood? "

It's only about four more seconds before he places the phone back on the hook, and hauls himself back inside the ship.

"Okay, so we go to Elizabeth, and put ourselves into the special painting?"

"Yep!" he nods, straightening his bow tie.

Sophie suddenly wakes up to a burning Gallifrey, a Dalek aiming a blaster at them. In unison all three Doctors pull out their screwdrivers, blasting the pepper pot backward. It crashes through a sheet of glass, slamming into the floor with a loud bang.

Right behind the reeling Dalek, all three Time Lord's step out, skirting around the wreckage in their wake, "Hello," the War Doctor says, stepping forward.

"I'm the Doctor," Sandshoes follows, stepping forward as well.

"Sorry about the Dalek," the eldest finishes, moving to join his past selves.

Clara and Sophie each pull themselves from the painting, glancing at each other, "Also the showing off."

"It's been a while since they had the chance to be complete bl**dy w*nk*rs," Sophie adds. "Can't stop the dramatics."

"Important moment," Sandshoes says, turning to look at her, "If you don't mind. World to save, all that."

"...sorry."

The eldest Doctor rolls his eyes, turning go glare at the UNIT officials, and the Zygons. "Kate Lethbridge Stewart, what in the name of sanity are you doing?"

The Kate that he wasn't looking at, responds, "The countdown can only be halted at my personal command. There's nothing you can do."

"Except make you both agree to halt it," the pinstripe Doctor states.

"Not even three of you."

"You're about to murder millions of people," the Warrior grumbles.

"To save billions," Kate argues, "How many times have you made that calculation?"

Sophie looks at the three faces of pure pain the Time Lords are showing. She moves over toward Sandshoes, carefully taking his hand in hers. He smiles at her, looking down at the hand, while his older self says, "Once. Turned me into the man I am now. I'm not even sure who that is any more."

"You tell yourself it's justified, but it's a lie. Because what I did that day was wrong. Just wrong," the Time Lord holding her hand adds.

She glances back at the youngest Doctor, seeing the pain in his eyes. He looks over into seemingly empty space.

"And, because I got it wrong, I'm going to make you get it right," Bow tie finishes.

The two older Doctors grab rolly chairs, moving them up to the table. The sit down in unison, propping their feet up. Sophie hops up, sitting on the opposite end as the two carry on.

"Any second now, you're going to stop that countdown. Both of you, together," Sandshoes smiles, raising his eyebrows.

"Then you're going to negotiate the most perfect treaty of all time,"

"Safeguards all round, completely fair on both sides."

"And the key to perfect negotiation?"

"Not knowing what side you're on."

The duo of Doctor's push themselves back, jumping to their feet. Immediately they each grab their sonics from their pockets

"So, for the next few hours, until we decide to let you out," the older one says, flipping his sonic.

"No one in this room will be able to remember if they're human," Sandshoes adds, flipping his own sonic.

"Or Zygon," the eldest finishes.

They both leap up, standing on the table. The War Doctor grabs his screwdriver as well. Instantaneously, the trio point their sonics at the memory eraser. The machine activates, flaring a bright white light fills the room. As she regains her sight, Sophie sees that the countdown is at seven seconds.

The Kate's look up, and shout in unison, "Cancel the detonation!"

Sophie relaxes the tension in her shoulders, jumping off the table. Walking over to the eldest Doctor, he mutters, "Peace in our time."

"And with five seconds to go," she smiles at him.
