I’ve had this screenshot for an age, I just realized not many ppl have probably wasted hours playing dice with this man like I have. So now you know it’s Flanker that kills Lorag.
Tumblr media
The fact that if he fails his life is forfeit, that he doesn’t want to kill a man he considered his friend and most likely learned lock-picking from as a child.

Useless rpgs recs. Videogames (not dating sims) where you play or you CAN play as a character who is wlw or mlm
Names and characters/explanations under cut (might contain minor spoilers):
Just a note, when I say romance I mean that there is actual story and plot related to it. Otehrwise for games like Fable or Skyrim (no romance) I will just write "Marry". For the romance games, a more detailed list of characters and romances can be found here.
Dragon Age Origins: You can romance Leliana (f) or Zevran (m) even with a character of their same gender
Dragon Age 2: You can romance all your companions (but Sebastian) indipendently from gender
Dragon Age Inquisition: You can romance Josephine (f) and Iron Bull (m) with any gender, and you can romance a lesbian character (Sera) or a gay character (Dorian)
Greedfall: You can romance Vasco (m) or Siora (f) with any gender
Dragon's Dogma: You can romance any character with any gender
Jade Empire: Sky (m) and Silk Fox (f) are romancable by any gender
Fable series: You can marry a character of your same gender
Skyrim: You can marry a character of your same gender
Enderal: You can romance Jasper (m) or Calia (f) as any gender
Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire: You can romance all your companions with any gender
Pendula Swing: The protagonist is canonically wlw, and you can romance male and female characetrs
Hero-U: The male protagonist can romance male characters too
Cyberpunk 2077: There are different flirts (female characters) that can be romanced by any gender, plus two full fledged romances a wlw and mlm one.
Expeditions: Viking: There is a female character (Roskva) and a male character (Ketill) who can be romanced by any gender.
Expeditions: Rome: There is a female character (Daianeira) and a male character (Caeso) who can be romanced by any gender.
Pathfinder Kingmaker: This game has multiple romances that can be romanced by characters of the same gender, mainly for wlw. Regongar is the one male character who can be romanced by any gender and also in a poly relationship with Octavia. Octavia, Kanerah, Kalikke, Nyrissa are the female characters romancable by any gender.
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous: Similar to Kingmaker, there are multiple characters romancable by male or female protagonists.
Rogue Trader: One male character and two female characters can be romanced by any gender.
Gamedec: Ken Zhou is the only romance option in game and can be romanced by any gender.#
Black Geyser: The romances are minimal, but there are multiple female and female characters romancable by any gender.
Always sometimes monsters (and sequel): you choose both the gender of the protagonist and the one of the romance.
Divinity Original Sin: If you play alone you control two characters who can end up in a romance (not fully written, almost subtle) indipendently from their gender.
Divinity Original Sin 2: All the companions can be romanced by any gender.
Disco Elysium: If you choose specific dialogue choices it is revealed that the protagonist (Harry) is attracted to men.
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, enhanced edition: The enhanced edition adds Dorn and Hexxat who can be romanced by the same gender.
Baldur's Gate Siege of Dragonspear: Two romance options are not gender locked.
Baldur's Gate 3: All the companions are romancable by any gender, plus there are some more flirts/less developed romances.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Multiple characters through the game are not gender locked for romance.
Eternal Home Floristry: You play as a gay man.
80 Days: The protagonist (a man) is clearly in love with a man, you can also romance a male character.
The Technomancer: You play as a male character, one of your romance option is mlm.
Sorcery!: If you play as a male character you can still romance Flanker, who is also a man and is the one romance option in the game. If you play as a female character there are some dialogue choices that can establish your character as wlw.
Knight Bewitched: The protagonists are two women in love.
Dreamfall The Longest Journey: One of the protagonists (Kian) is a gay man.
Dreamfall Chapters: Kian and Saga are respectively a gay man and a pansexual woman.
Newfound Courage: The protagonist is a gay boy, but also the whole game is about being queer.
Haven: You play as a couple of lovers, who can be two women or two men.
Fallout 4: Some of the romance options are not gender locked.
Morrowind: There is a mod to romance (links of all mods here).
Solstice: Visual novel but not dating sim, you play as two characters and one of them is a gay man.
Mass Effect Trilogy: multiple companions (nb, f or m) can be romanced with any gender.
Mass Effect Andromeda: multiple companions can be romanced wtih any gender.
Hades: The protagonist (the son of Hades) can romance a male character (and enter into a poly relationship).
Icewind Dale II: mods
Icewind Dale: mod (one male character who can be romanced by a male protagonist).
GAMES I FORGOT (EDIT):
The Red String Club: you play as two gay men who are a couple.
Please keep in mind that this is the post I constantly update:

Because the first thing I do in any new fandom is reblog a bunch of art and then immediately think about AUs, and I know pretty much none of my followers know about this new guy I'm obsessed with but c'mon. Go on your app store or the fucking Switch store and do yourself a favor and play Sorcery! and romance the assassin. Anyway, how about a mer!AU for your troubles?
You would think the Analander would be the merperson in this one, since he's the magical one of the two, but nah. It's Flanker, with a sleek dark tail, always a shadow near the shore so he's just close enough to pull lone fisherman and swimmers down into the water for a meal. None who see him survive, and he especially distrusts any sorcerers near the shores, since they're often after something like him for their spell ingredients.
So when some Analander is poking around, well...
He's hungry and a spellcaster is usually useless under the water, too busy trying to struggle for the surface, falling further and further away from their precious stars.
Unfortunately for him, this one has a sword and enough sense to grab for it. Flanker almost drowns them, but then a blade is cutting through the water and it becomes an actual fight in the depths.
And it's fun. Flanker hasn't had a challenge like this in a long time. It's thrilling, up until the damn Analander gets in a good swing, and more after that, until Flanker realizes his mistake and ah, well... Seems like this is the end, this spellcaster will get his ingredients after all.
The Analander doesn't finish him off right away. He goes up for air, then swims back down to grab him and pull him, barely able to resist, up onto the shoreline. And then strangely asks if he speaks Analandish or any of the common hill languages, followed by wondering if he'll be already long enough out of the water for his wounds to be tended to.
Now Flanker isn't a really a "people person" for one of his kind. Most live in schools or pods or whatever, they're social creatures, but Flanker doesn't have one of those. He's pretty much out there himself. It's safer, y'know? Too many of his kind, and people wonder why there are so many disappearances along the shoreline. And he's fine with, Flanker thrives on his own.
Or so he tells himself.
But now he has this Analander sorcerer showing up all the time to sit on the rocks with their feet in the water, trying to talk to him. They bring food, and ramble about their studies, and they even go out there at night to practice their spells or to practice their sword forms during the day.
Flanker could ignore him, but he owes this person his life, technically.
At first he merely gives the sorcerer a glimpse that he exists. Just a flash of a dark tail breaching the water at first, or he'll watch the Analander with just his eyes peeking over the surface of the water, listening...
The Analander is friendly. He always seems happy when Flanker gives him the smallest acknowledgement.
He has a nice voice, too... It's not grating to listen to him ramble, even if Flanker is woefully ignorant about sorcery.
It's a slow process. The Analander knows he's succeed when Flanker cautiously approaches one day, only to duck under the water, grab their foot, and drag them into the water. They come up sputtering and get their first taste of a deep, rich laugh before Flanker ducks under the water and darts off and they realize that he has a sense of humor.
They actually start talking after that, Flanker becoming more and more comfortable propping himself out of the water to talk with his strange new friend. He's stolen some dice off some sailors after watching them play a few rounds of Swindlestones, which is a decent way to pass the time between curious questions passed between the two about their respective people.
No idea what the actual conflict would be but let's face it, I dig the whole we have completely different anatomies, let's explore each other in increasing inappropriate ways.

i have finally written up proper bios for my inquisitors (so far) :D long post incoming
herah adaar (prefers to go by adaar) - she/her, archery rogue & assassin
Tumblr media
adaar was raised by a tamassran and a saarebas who fled the qun so her saarebas father could live a life of freedom. neither of them liked talking about the qun, and were troubled when they did speak of it; adaar knows enough to be glad she grew up outside of it.
archery started out as just a method of hunting and occasionally fighting off attacks against her tal-vashoth village, until her parents passed and she ended up in the valo-kas mercenary company as a scout and flanker. she was content with the support role, and prefers to survey a battlefield from a distance, watching for where she's needed most.
as someone uninterested in leadership and a non-believer of the andrastian faith, adaar struggled with becoming the herald and inquisitor, always quick to tell people she wasn't holy, that she wasn't chosen, that she's just like everyone else. eventually, with encouragement from her inner circle, she grew more into the role, but still thinks of herself as just one part of the team that makes the inquisition work. she often feels that without josephines support, she never would have made it past halamshiral.
adaar is reserved, thoughtful, and self-sufficient. she tends to itch when she hasn't seen combat in a while, mostly because she likes to stay active. she also has a humourous side, and likes to tease and make puns, much to cassandra's chagrin.
---
el of clan lavellan - they/them, storm mage and knight-enchanter
Tumblr media
el was chosen as their clan keeper's first because of their strength, decisiveness, and determination, not because they're good-natured or nurturing. they are naturally distrustful, unafraid to speak their mind with brutal honesty or scathing, sarcastic remarks, and would have been happier among the clan's hunters. el knows that most in the clan would see someone else as the next keeper. as a result, they keep their distance, even from their family, and feel a disconnect from both the clan and the heritage they were meant to uphold.
becoming part of the inquisition gives el the opportunity to escape that life. they don't love being called the "herald of andraste", but they're grateful for the opportunity to see more of the world, to meet people outside of the clan, and have a life more suited to their interests. for the first time in el's life, people believe in them, and respect them even if they don't agree with every decision they make. in time, el even begins to mellow out as they gain the friendship of their inner circle. cullen, in particular, inspires a softer side of them.
their scars come from an incident when their clan was attacked by humans. they aren't bothered by them; they like to think the scars will make people think twice before messing with them. in combat, they like to be front and center, and they fight ruthlessly.
---
evelyn trevelyan - she/her, winter and rift mage
Tumblr media
decades spent living in the ostwick circle of magi has shaped who evelyn is as a person far more than her noble birth ever could. over the years, she has experienced a lot of mistreatment and dehumanization from the templar order--her scars were given by violent templars, and her nose has been broken, leaving it slightly crooked. as a result, she had to learn to read people well and guard herself from those who would take advantage. evelyn kept to herself, and stayed mild-mannered, trying to go unnoticed. she is world-weary, but fights to remain kind.
at her harrowing, she faced a despair demon that preyed on her lack of hope for the future. she refused to be tempted. to this day, facing despair demons in combat leaves her shaken.
evelyn believes in the andrastian faith, and when she became the herald, she wasn't sure she agreed that she was chosen, but she does pray for andraste to guide her, wanting to live up to the name. she tries to do right by everyone she can and seeks out the friendship--and advice--of her inner circle. cullen's choice to leave the templar order intrigues her, and she finds herself drawn closer to him. its her first time even considering a relationship in many years.
due to her time in the circle, evelyn gained solitary hobbies, like reading and painting. now that she has a true family, she finds joy in doing these things alongside others in peaceful companionship.
to her, the tattoo beneath her eye symbolizes endurance.

I'm super done with overwatch 2. The more I play it the less fun it is. Especially after I play league. Cuz I mainly play support in both games and it's so noticeable how much more carry potential there is with league supports than OW supports. Just based on kits alone, most OW supports feel so fuckin weak.
5v5 exposed just how boring and simplistic support kits are. Because now we can get flanked real easy, and unless you're kiriko, you're in trouble. Ana players have to be perfect on aim to escape flankers, baptiste has to be super careful to not waste his two cooldowns, zen literally only got Tha gripperz as peel. Mercy has to have a teammate around to have good movement.
When I play league by comparison, I can actually impact at every stage of the game through my kit. Engage supports are plentiful rn. Amumu, Rell, blitzcrank, maokai (tree homie is locking down 3 roles bruh) and so many others. Enchanter supports are insane with damage and utility rn. Soraka, Renata, Janna, lulu, a literal truckload of old midlane mages are now support gods. Xerath, brand, heimer?!
There's so much variety right now and trying to play overwatch after league, it's like I'm being put in handcuffs.
Like, you can tell just by the amount of characters per role, they do not give a shit about support in OW. Dps are always main charactering, ESPECIALLY the hitscan. Lord forbid you play pharah in this meta. Tanks at least have an impact but still need a fucking leash else they run off away from their supports and die 1v5ing, unless you're roadhog. Homie is tank dps and healer all in one, no need for any other role.
It's almost funny cuz adc in league is so weak. You have to be so careful on positioning and even when you do it right, you can still die because the assassin got to you.
I hope the pervasive myth that blizzard makes good games starts to die. Like yeah overwatch feels great to play, woo. But it's hard to enjoy that when they clearly don't design the game very well. So many things dropped from 1 to 2. What happened to being on fire? What happened to the Stat cards at the end? The UI feels so bland, the battle pass is a fuckin joke. 80 stages with no in game currency, and you basically HAVE to buy the pass to access a new character, and actually finish the pass in time.

analog principle.
closed starter ft. @agtbishop
setting: washington, district of columbia / temporal bureau headquarters
timeframe: november 28, 1999 / april 17, 1996
summary: “Barreling through time, the two agents from the current — the past — take aim at the future through the cold barrel of the gun.”
content warnings: descriptions and depictions of criminal activity, including but not limited to attempted assassination, gun violence, and domestic terrorism. may contain mild body harm.
Tumblr media
Two dark-suited agents stand on the rooftop of an apartment building in the heart of K Street, Downtown Washington, D.C., overlooking the bleak November slush that has carpeted the road, which has yet to deter the growing crowd. One of the agents, a tall man, crouches. He opens a large deployment case, and a matte-gray rifle emerges in his hands.
Following is a case of bullets, a standard issue for NATO-allied countries, a 7.62 by 51mm. Barrel rifling of 5 radials, with a turn in 11.2 inches, 6-shot repeating; muzzle velocity reaching up to approximately 2,600 feet per second for a maximum effective range of 800 meters. The agent immediately gets to work, setting up the bipod stand and assembling the M24 SWS bolt-action sniper rifle.
Before starting any inspection, the agent performs a routine checkup to clear the rifle and examine for damages. After field stripping the rifle, he adjusts the rifle’s stock, attaches the optic sights, and checks for its zero. He screws on the suppressor. After completing the clean-up, the weapon is ready for service. The agent concludes by engaging the safety in the rifle’s S position.
(This agent cannot see the irony of his beloved typewriter and his bloody sniper rifle originating from the same manufacturer, E. Remington and Sons.)
A slight wind gathers, breezing in from the southeast. It’ll pick up in about thirty minutes, at fourteen hundred and twenty-two minutes, when a lone gunman will come out onto the roof of the Cartwright Building. He will assassinate the senatorial candidate Vernon F. MacMillan, a Republican, courting the lobbyists on K Street, satirically in guns and automobiles. In the wake of MacMillan’s death, someone else will run as his replacement.
In a future far from now, hours and hours away, the forthcoming Temporal Bureau in [redacted year] will send a missive back in time. The current Temporal Bureau in ‘96 will be asked to put their agents with significant military history to the task. Specifically, the quiet and undetectable to dispose of the gunman. Lethal force is allowed, but the agents are encouraged to be creative if they so wish. Just avoid a SNAFU.
Agent Faulkner returns to his full height of six feet and a half and picks up his binoculars hung around his neck. “How is the crowd, Agent Bishop?” He asks his mission partner — correction, primary mission partner as of six months. It has been a month into their cooperation, and operations have never gone through any bumps. Not that Agent Faulkner has expected anything less from a veteran of the Bureau. Agent Bishop is an operative like Stein, one who has had a hand in the science behind time manipulation. Faulkner doesn’t consider himself any bit of an intellectual, so those with genius leadership will forever have his service.
(Weapons are only useful in talented hands, aren't they?)
“According to my watch, we have T-minus twenty-seven minutes before H-hour,” Faulkner states, “would you like to set up your system? In case our proposed plan requires a backup.”
In the United States military, these specialized marksmen are crew-served with a sniper cell of two. The primary weapon operator, the shooter has a support personnel or protective force, known as a spotter or a flanker. As expressed in the U.S. Army and Marine Corps Table of Organization and Equipment, the shooter does not operate alone. A qualified backup shooter is deployed to ensure mission success.
However, what Agents Bishop and Faulkner have in mind do not follow anti-personnel tactics or policy. Instead of assassinating the lone gunman, they are attempting to indirectly apprehend him. In Faulkner’s pre-mission research, he has dug through the gunman’s biography and has given Agent Bishop his report before their launch.
Malcolm Seward, thirty-three, a member of the extremist group the Brothers of Civic Freedom, properly established in late ‘98.
(All groups of terror would never appropriately call themselves as such. The fear they cause is a part of the cause. For justice, when boiled down to it, is to enact the fear of retribution.)
Seward is a poor and uneducated man let go at an Ohio automobile factory in the spring of ‘97 and radicalized through the scapegoating of immigrant workers. He and other disgruntled, disaffected, and deeply disturbed men will take to arms. He will kill senatorial candidate Vernon F. MacMillan and then cause mass havoc while he tries to escape.
In Faulkner’s report, he also notes MacMillan’s opponents, his replacements. Although the Republican nominee does not win the upcoming election in D.C., there must be a reason as to why the Bureau has chosen to spare MacMillan’s life. Further detailed within the pages of the report are all the locations of U.S. Secret Service members dispatched during the incident. The major players are highlighted. The obstacles delineated. All for an optimized run of events.
Agent Faulkner’s standard is nothing less than perfection in execution. However, what he is suggesting means no wriggle room for error. He and Agent Bishop will wound the gunman before he takes his shot, disorient and non-lethally incapacitate him, purposefully misfire Seward’s modified Armalite AR-50 to trigger a response from Secret Service who will triangulate the location of the bullet, and dissemble and depart before detection.
By setting up Seward and implicating he was betrayed by his group, Faulkner hopes that he will cooperate with the Secret Service, give up the names involved with the Brothers of Civic Freedom, and disintegrate the group without the loss of future lives.
He and Agent Bishop will be able to pull it off.
There is a tickle in his throat again, similar to the tiniest twinge of something dragging his words when he had first declared his plan to her in the privacy of his office. He doesn’t understand why he doesn’t feel quite right. He cannot commend Agent Bishop enough; they work smoothly, having gotten to the point of wordless communication during a mission.
(This Agent does not compute his pain toward silence and will suffer in silence.)
Tumblr media
Therefore, Agent Faulkner clears his throat and says, “Would you like the shot or the spot? My system has been adjusted to a comfortable median between our MOA, and the scope is good to go.”
Faulkner lifts the binoculars and gazes at the other building. In less than nineteen minutes, their target will bust through the door, dressed in garish camouflage garb despite the environment. He will hastily set up his gun. And, fueled with rage, he will immediately fire when MacMillan stops in front of a stock exchange building just across their section of K Street.
“We will only have a small window of ten minutes to fire and detain Seward, enact the false assassination attempt, and then a smaller window of two minutes while we both dissemble our sniper rifles and evade Secret Services. This is to say, whoever is the primary shooter will have to communicate with the flanker during dismantling. Throat mics are on as we commence operations. I understand these are high-pressure conditions, so as mentioned, I am volunteering the flank position.” Faulkner explains, binoculars down and resting over his protective vest.
Barreling through time, the two agents from the current — the past — take aim at the future through the cold barrel of the gun.
