THE CAPTAIN 15 18 x 24" This painting is done by oil painting on canvas paper The image is about the late NY Yankees catcher and captain Thurman Lee Munson ( 1947-1979) one of the greatest competitors of the 1970s . He led his team in two world championships in 1977 and 1978. Munson tragically was killed in a plane crash on August 2, 1979 and his Jersey was retired immediately.
