FONTAINE MADE ME A WRECK! I've always loved Childe's goofy ass so I was so happy when I saw him at Fontaine and even joked to my friends about how much Childe loved me and that's why he left his vision with me (and also came on only 10 wishes~)
By the end of the first quest i was so distraught when Childe was taken to Meropide like??? Neuvilette please we all know he isn't the kidnapper 😭
And then the second part absolutely destroyed me CHILDE PLEASE WHAT ARE YOU DOING COME BACK sobs.
But the scene by the end of the archon quest where he's floating in the water was so epic! The Leviathan too waaa i got so hyped up because I'm such a nerd for sea monsters and like- anything sea related.
—Eel anon
(one of my partners was so happy when Childe disappeared 🥲 and the other was panicking with me)
(under the cut just in case of Archon quest spoilers!!)
I knew something was not quite right when we first meet him again in Fontaine and he essentially tells us, "I think I'm going crazy and I can't trust myself with my Vision lol. So look after it for me!" (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ like... CHILDE????? IS EVERYTHING OKAY???? >_< and then when he almost activates Foul Legacy during his court case LOL. I was salivating during that scene WOOOOOOOOO I always forget just how fine his Foul Legacy form is. OTL
I can't believe his presence in Fontaine is even real. The idea of Childe in prison is so funny to me. My babygirl was a little too silly and now he's in the underwater jail doing time. Someone free him (jk he already did that himself hehe). He did nothing wrong!!! Jokes aside, it was interesting to see Traveler's dreams of him and witness his final moments up until he eventually escapes. The ending with the huge leviathan was so amazing and left me so speechless in the aftermath (Genshin, this cliffhanger hurts my soul. I must know what happens next. T^T). My jaw dropped. I went from: omg Childe!!!!! What're you doing in there?!?!! to oh. OHHHHHH WHOA OMG AAAAAAAAAAAAA. I'm hoping for his safety because the idea of Childe being killed off is so T_T but then I've also seen theories about how he might lose his eye and that maybe that beta design of Childe won't be so farfetched anymore........ so many thoughts in my egg brain. orz orz orz
Fontaine has evoked so much emotion from me. I was genuinely anxious during the scene with Arlecchino and Furina. (ó﹏ò。) I'm truly enjoying exploring the nation and also completing the Archon quest and world quests! It's been so much fun.
(Omg your partner being happy for Childe's disappearance... ;;; my coworker was also happy when he was promptly stopped by Neuvillette and then when he got thrown in jail. >:( I'm diving into the sea to save Childe as we speak!!!!)

“Honorable father Rippleclaw” the only honor he did was being an honor sire.
What was Oakheart and Graypool’e relationship like with their kits? Similar to canon or other things tossed in?
Tumblr media
[ID: Oakheart wearing sunglasses and a white T-shirt that says, "I'm not the stepdad I'm the dad that stepped up"]
TRADE OFFER: Oakheart receives 'presence in lives of his children,' Graypool receives 'Himbo platonic coparent'
Rippleclaw was only meant to be an honor sire, Graypool wanted kits and always thought he was an awesome warrior. She was like a 'fan' of his.
She gave birth to three kittens, two of which had never been very strong and were suspected fading kits. When they 'stabilized,' it was liked they got... bluer.
"DON'T question it, we're the Queen's Rights Clan you stupid fishbrain"
No one was surprised that Oakheart and Graypool started getting close around this point though. They were kind of connected through Crooked and Willow anyway and had always been friends, and a litter of 3 at once can be a pawful.
Swankit looked EXACTLY like Rippleclaw. The river's reflection of him. Meanwhile Mistykit and Stonekit...
Well, again, it wasn't questioned.
In any case, the kits were not raised with distinctions. Oakheart was their dad and Graypool was their mom, though they don't have very early memories of him because he only adopted them after Stone and Misty stabilized.
The three of them adored their parents and were very close growing up.
They eventually became Mistystar, Stonefur, and Swansong!
Always bugged me how TPB made it really clear that Mistyfoot saw Oakheart as her dad and really loved him, but then later material totally abandoned the "queen's right" that I built up into the FULL Queen's Rights system and, thus, had to make it that Oakheart had to watch his kits grow up from afar.
So now he gets THREE kids!

Rebjukebox 2024 - No. 3
My third playlist of new music from mainly new bands and new artists, with a couple of well known acts thrown in for good luck!! But the tracks are new music from 2024. It's mixed genres of music from many different countries. Makes no difference, where the tracks appear in the playlist, they are all good.
I feel 40 is good number of tracks not too long or too short in listening time for your enjoyment. The whole playlist is only two hours and fifteen minutes long.
I used to do these just through Soundcloud, but thought i might as well add it to my Spotify also. So i will add two links to the playlist and can use which ever one you prefer.
If your a solo singer or a member of a band, then follow me on my Soundcloud page here, if i like your stuff, i will follow you back, if i don’t follow back then sorry but your not my thing. Whatever style of music is fine, i like many stlyes and will take a listen. You should always trust your own ears with music.
You can only follow 2,000 people on Soundcloud, so am limited. But if am following you there, i can see when you share new music, which means you could be added to one of these playlists or the main JIR playlist (one per month). What style of music is fine, i like many and will take a listen.
Enjoy & share, hopefully you will discover some great new bands from taking a listen, stay free, see you soon with No 4.

For the prompt one- Just gonna throw random words like I did for Phoom and you pick whichever 😂!
Holding,Searching ,Dinner,Sun,Cloudy
[insert prompt here] — you post a prompt, and i’ll write three sentences based on that prompt, set in the same time/setting as my current project.
So.....I thought oohhh all of these might work for one scene so let me try and work my way towards that, then realized it'd take too long, so instead I took them each as a prompt for a later spot in the story. So enjoy some maybe upcoming umibudo things. Because apparently today is mermaid time. This is also kinda long because I did all of them 🤣so I'm going to put it under a read more. I also got a bit lost in research 🤣.
Holding
Johnny's lungs were burning, his chest tight. He felt like he should've been used to holding his breath. But he was panicking trying to find his way out. Searching
Kumiko always said that his fishbrain would cause trouble, and he'd known he'd forget shit, that he'd want to pull Johnny in too deep, but forgetting the tide or how quickly it could change terrified him. One minuted Johnny had been beside him, like a gift from the sea, and the next he was gone, whisked away as the cave filled up. He kept diving deeper and deeper swimming against the current, searching frantically. Dinner
Johnny sat looking at the food sat out for them. It was too much food, and Chozen looked stunned himself. Adan champuru, grilled ishigaki beef, kamaboko, wild boar champuru, swordfish steak and more desserts that Johnny refused to look at because it was all too much.
Sun
Chozen stretched out on the sand, scales glittering in the sunlight. His tail fin stretched the way a cat might stretch their toes. He cracked an eye open from his nap, saw Johnny looking before grinning and faster than a snake strike, pulling Johnny down next to him. Cloudy
Chozen had been eyeing the clouds all day, monitoring where they were and keeping track of where they were, but he didn't run like others for cover when the downpour hit, enjoying the shudder of delight as his skin shifted, like a ripple all the way to his toes of scales. Johnny yelped beside him in surprise and Chozen took his hand, hurrying through the streets, there'd be no hiking or swimming today, no sight seeing, just one place to go and spend the day. Johnny followed, shivering at the blast of air conditioning as Chozen unlocked the door and followed him.

Exploring the Depths of Desolation: Mount Kimbie's 'The Sunset Violent' Delivers a Haunting Blend of Shoegaze and Electronica
Tumblr media
Mount Kimbie’s latest album, The Sunset Violent, is a compelling blend of indie, shoegaze, and electronica that continues the innovative path they’ve carved in contemporary music. Released on April 5, 2024, this album marks their fourth studio project and features nine tracks, including collaborations with King Krule on songs like “Boxing” and “Empty and Silent.” The album was largely penned in California’s Yucca Valley, adding a unique, desolate aesthetic that echoes through their music, reflecting both physical and emotional landscapes . The lead single, “Fishbrain,” is accompanied by a video directed by Tegen Williams, which portrays a dystopian factory setting, mirroring the song’s themes of monotonous labor and industrial bleakness. This track, like much of the album, explores deeper themes of isolation and disconnection, using a mix of haunting lyrics and atmospheric sounds to engage listeners . The Sunset Violent is seen as a step forward for Mount Kimbie, showing both maturity and innovation in their sound and artistic expression. The album is also a significant shift from their 2017 album “Love What Survives” and follows their unique 2022 double-album project where each band member explored individual musical directions. The new album seems to integrate these experiences, presenting a unified yet diverse sound palette . Fans and new listeners alike will find The Sunset Violent to be a thought-provoking and richly textured addition to Mount Kimbie’s discography. For those interested in the nuances of their latest work, exploring the full album will reveal a detailed and emotionally resonant musical journey. [TS4] HOUSE OF LAMENTATION: V1.0 - EXTERIOR + BASEMENT FLOOR
Because I have no self-control whatsoever, I finished this mini-project of mine within a week or so. Sadly, my fishbrain didn’t thought of taking a speedbuild video. For shame.
The House of Lamentation is located in Newcrest, the 30x40 lot on by the river. I was originally looking for at least a 40x50 lot but this fits exactly for the house - and it definitely stopped me from over designing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s start with my favourite part of the house, the basement!
We have two levels for the basement for two reasons, 1) to create an airy feel for the underground tomb as it’s known to have huge gothic cathedral-like design; and 2) because Mammon’s room is apparently two-levels with a connected ‘car parking’ on the top level.
MAMMON’S ROOM - very modern, he’s got the bachelor’s pad aesthetic and it fits so well with his character. I added a mini-bar by the living area as he looks like he’s the type to throw parties in his room, ya know?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
LEVI’S ROOM - Another aesthetic room! I loved the aquarium he has so I tried to replicate that with an outdoor pool that is shown through these curtain walls. The bed-tub is a design feature rather than a functional bed because its scary when Sims try to soak and nap... it’s like teasing death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE UNDERGROUND TOMB - The grimoire’s resting place. We all have fond memories of almost dying here... I wanted to add more details but this is as detailed as TS4 can get without crashing on me.

Fabian Part 4
Fabian had barely whispered the words before the door swung open.
In stepped a man, looking to be around the same age as Fabian. As soon as he’d crossed the threshold, the inn was filled with the overwhelming stench of the seawater. His sandy blond hair hung in tangled ringlets around his face. He glanced around briefly, his eyes scanning the crowd, before locking eyes on Fabian.
Harrison fell quiet for a moment, copper eyes wide- then lifted his tankard towards the stranger.
“Jackard Kriopti!” He called jovially, a wide, lopsided smile spreading over his face, “What a surprise!”
Immediately the man’s stormy expression broke into a boyish grin, his eyes lighting up as he crossed the room to Harrison. The half-demon climbed down from the table, pulling Jackard into an unrestrained embrace.
“Harry! I missed you! I see you’re still up to your shenanigans?”
“Shenanigans?” Harrison chuckled, kissing both of the man’s cheeks, “Never.”
“Sure, old friend.” Jackard said, grin widening. He shook his head, pulling away from Harrison.
The newcomer walked toward the bar, his gaze trained again on Fabian. He felt himself shrink under its scrutiny.
“You’re new.” He said, vaulting himself easily over the bar to pour himself a tankard of ale.
“I started working here a few weeks ago.” The smell of seawater was stronger now, and Fabian could taste the salt in the air. He tried his best to not wrinkle his nose at it.
“You’re one of Harrison’s…?” Jackard gulped the ale, his eyes flicking down Fabian’s figure as he sized him up.
Fabian wasn’t sure what he meant, but he definitely didn’t like the tone of his voice.
“I just wash dishes.” Fabian bit back.
“Ahh. I thought- nevermind. Welcome to the team, then.” He held a hand out for him to shake. Fabian hesitated before taking it.
“Uh, thanks.”
Much to his dismay, Jackard slid into the seat next to him. He contemplated heading into the kitchen, with the excuse that he needed to help Rynnth with cooking. He had a feeling Jackard would either not buy it or follow him- so he settled on staying put and downed his ale.
As the night wore on, Harrison grew bored with telling stories and sidled his way over to the two men, who drank their ale in silence. He fell into them, losing his balance in his intoxicated state. His hands thudded on their backs as he caught himself, though he played it off like he’d meant it.
“My two favorite gentlemen,” He grinned, leaning on them, “I hope you’re getting along?”
“Swimmingly.” Jackard smiled back at the taller man.
Fabian couldn’t stop himself from rolling his eyes.
“Excellent! Excellent! Surely you’ll be staying a while, Jack?”
“Of course, Harry.”
Fabian choked at the response, trying to duck out of the way as Jackard wrapped his arm around him.
Just great, he complained inwardly, pulling himself out from under the blond’s arm. His nostrils burned and eyes watered from the salt that seemed to envelope the man.
He was not the least bit fond of Jackard.
Opting to join Rynnth in the kitchen, he stalked away from them as they continued to catch up. The troll-woman was standing over a large pot of bubbling liquid, the smell of spices and garlic wafting into the air as she stirred.
“Ya escaping the drunks too?” She teased, wiping her hands on her apron as she turned to face him.
Fabian grinned at her guiltily. Rynnth had a bad habit of seeing right through people, and he was no exception. Unlike the much more delicate Harrison, Rynnth always spoke her mind- and Fabian found her refreshing.
“Couldn’t stand the smell anymore.”
Rynnth snorted, dropping various root vegetables unceremoniously into the pot.
“Yeah, don’t blame ya. Can only take so much of that fishbrain. Throw Idler in there too, and ya got a recipe for disaster.” She sighed, handing Fabian a knife and some potatoes, “Cut these up before we have ta go break up a brawl.”
~
Fabian set to work, washing the dishes from yet another one of Harrison’s nightly parties. He’d been getting worse since Jackard showed up- before, the nights had ended in calm contemplation, with Harrison asking unanswerable questions. Now every night, without fail, ended in a large bar fight that Rynnth and Fabian had to clean up after. It was exhausting.
Oddly enough, since Jackard had shown up, the inn was making money. Customers showed up during the day to eat before the nighttime chaos. The same men showed up at night as always, and stayed often until morning. Fabian found it a strange that no new faces turned up- and that not a single one of them paid. If Rynnth had found it unusual too, she didn’t say anything. He’d brought it up a few times just to be met with a shrug.
Slowly, the breakfast crowd started filing in, and Fabian got plates ready. Jackard and Harrison walked down the stairs together, deep in conversation, and Fabian felt a twinge of annoyance. They never seemed to separate.
“Be nice.” Rynnth warned, her eyebrow cocked as she handed him their usual fare- sausages and egg for Harrison, and smoked herring for Jackard.
Fabian slid the plates over to the two men.
Harrison glanced up at him, smiling brilliantly.
“Fabian! Good morning! This looks lovely.”
“I helped this morning.” He wiped his hands on his apron- a habit he’d picked up from Rynnth.
“I didn’t know you cooked.” Jackard commented around a mouthful of food.
“Rynnth’s been teaching me.”
“After she’s done with you, Fabian,” Harrison gestures to the stairs, “Come up to my study. I could use you for a bit.”
Fabian wiped down the bar long after breakfast had ended. His mind began to wander for the upteenth time that day, trying to solve the odd occurrences that plagued the bar every night. Why did the same people always show up? Not one of them was in a bad mood- in fact, they’d always seemed elated to be there. Elated to see Harrison.
His eyebrows knit together as he scrubbed the already clean counter.
“You know,” Fabian jumped at Jackard’s voice- he hadn’t noticed him standing there.
“You could just ask him.”
“Ask him what?” For a moment, Fabian thought perhaps Jackard could read minds.
“Ask him what’s going on. You were mumbling, friend. I could hear you.”
“It’s none of my business.” He responded in a clipped tone.
“Isn’t it?” The man leaned on the counter, “Don’t you want to know what he does to them?”
Fabian froze.
“What?” He spat, glaring up at the blond man, who smirked as he took the bait.
“How he controls them. You’re curious, aren’t you? About Harrison?”
Controls them? He controls them? He felt sick. Harrison wouldn’t do something like that. Doubt weighed on his mind, and he was unable to shake the possibility. If he was controlling them, was he controlling him too?
His hands trembled. Everything has been too easy- he’d walked in and been given a room, a job, was fed and clothed. It would make sense if Harrison had been up to something- but mind control?
When he looked back up, Jackard was gone. He threw down the rag- and feeling too anxious to do much else, he made his way to the study.
Harrison was sitting there at his desk, his hand laced in his salt and pepper hair. His round-rimmed glasses had slipped down his nose. His tie loosened haphazardly, and his usually pristine shirt was wrinkled. A glass of whiskey rested beside his hand. Fabian had never seen him so disheveled.
He did everything he could to keep his lithe body from shaking. He thought maybe he should turn back, to bring it up another time- but then Harrison looked up.
“Ah, Fabian- there you are.”
Before he could stop himself, the words poured out-his fear getting the best of him.
“Harrison, why do those people show up every night?”
Harrison paused, tense before going back to writing.
“What do you mean?”
“They’re the same men. And they-“
“Did Jackard say something?” His eyebrows raised, he kept his gaze focused on his parchment.
Fabian knew he was asking something he wasn’t meant to.
Harrison was hiding something.
“Do you… pay them?”
“No.”
“So they’re... your thrall?”
Fabian flinched as Harrison snapped the pen in his hand, ink splattering over the paper, coating his fingers.
“They’re friends.” The words were laced with venom, and Fabian knew he’d touched a nerve.
When he didn’t answer, Harrison flicked his copper gaze up to stare him down.
“You’re judging me.” He said in an accusatory tone, wiping his ink-stained hand on a handkerchief.
“Why force them?”
“I don’t force them,” he snapped, “I just...compel them to enjoy my company.”
“That’s the same thing!” Fabian argued.
“It isn’t! I don’t force them to do my bidding! I don’t control them!” As his voice raised to a roar, Fabian felt himself shrink back. He’d never seen Harrison angry.
The taller man took a deep breath, trying to compose himself.
“Tell me, Fabian,” he said quietly, “What did you feel when you met me?”
“Harrison-“ he said quietly, reluctant, knowing the truth would sting.
“Tell me.”
“I-“ The words stuck in his throat and he swallowed thickly.
“I’ll tell you what it was.” Harrison sighed, “Repulsion. Disgust. And above all- fear. Your skin crawled, you were terrified, and you wanted to get away as quickly as possible.”
Fabian stayed silent. He wished he could say it wasn’t true- but there was no sense in lying.
“It’s what everyone- everyone- feels. I terrify people. Its what demons do.” He sighed, running his hand through his hair.
When he finally spoke, his voice was quiet and hoarse.
“I just don’t want to be alone anymore.”
Fabian stared in shock as Harrison dropped the carefree image he always upheld. His shoulders sagging, his knuckles white as he gripped his whiskey glass.
“Did you...” His words trailed off. Fabian knew it wasn’t what Harrison needed- he looked so broken standing there. Taking in a deep breath, he knew had to ask before he lost his nerve, the words difficult to form.
“Did you compel me?”
Fabian could see the taller man’s back visibly tense, and almost missed the way his fingers shook. He immediately wanted to take the words back, seeing how much they hurt.
“I can’t.” Harrison ground out, “I can only compel humans.”
Fabian’s face paled, and he suddenly felt dizzy. He knew? How long had he known? He hadn’t told anyone of his unusual awakening. Had he always sensed it? Had he told anyone else?
“I didn’t know- that you-“ he stumbled over the words, feeling foolish.
“Does Rynnth...?”
“Of course she does. We don’t take in human employees. If you remember, you showed up in rotting clothing, and told us you came from the Haunted Woods. No human comes from there- they’re called the Haunted Woods for a reason. Every human that enters, dies.”
Fabian’s cheeks heated as embarrassment washed over him.
“And, “ he continued, “You were dazed. Walking like an animated corpse- it was alarming. If it was not for Ingrid sending you to us, you could have ended up in trouble.”
Ingrid? He wracked his brain for a few moments.
Of course.
“The shopkeeper?”
“She’s a Mirégroth. Communicated through telepathy. Pretty decent at subtly convincing people of things- like she did to get you to walk into her doorway.”
Fabian just stared at him while he poured more whiskey.
“She’s a lovely person, I assure you.” He handed the glass to Fabian, “She let me know to wait for you in the alley.”
Fabian was dumbstruck, and his jaw hung open as he searched for words.
“Come now, Fabian,” Harrison laughed, “Surely you didn’t think this was a coincidence? We just took you in without knowing anything about you?”
“I feel stupid.” Fabian mumbled, downing the whiskey in one gulp.
“I adore you,” he chuckled, slinging his arm around his shoulders, “But you aren’t all that bright.”
“Do you know what I am?” He asked incredulously, ignoring Harrison’s comment on his intelligence.
“No, unfortunately, but I can narrow it down, if you answer my questions.”
He pulled away from the shorter man, smoothing his shirt and adjusting his tie.
“Another time, Fabian, I’ll help you. Now, if you don’t mind,” The warmth was gone from his voice as he continued, “I have some business to attend to.”
Fabian had a bad feeling about this.
“Harrison!” He called, following the taller man down the steps frantically, “Harrison, calm down, please!”
“I am calm.” His voice was too smooth, emotionless- and Fabian knew the anger that was behind it. It radiated off of him- a terrifying, quiet fury rippling in waves.
“Idler.” Rynnth warned, her eyes boring into him from behind the bar, “Don’t do anything stupid.”
Harrison didn’t respond, grabbing the bucket they used to mop, and slammed the door behind him as he left.
The inn was silent for a moment, before everyone went about their business. A few men played a dice game with Jackard, placing wagers- and others drank heavily at the bar. Fabian however, sat at a table, alone- staring blankly into his tankard.
He felt terrible for how things went down in the office. Harrison had been nothing but kind to him. He knew deep down that Harrison hadn’t been controlling him, but once the thought had invaded his mind, he couldn’t stop the doubt.
He’d let himself fear Harrison, and he’d hurt him. In hindsight, he knew he could have approached it in a different way- he wasn’t sure what came over him. Fabian resolved to apologize as soon as he saw him again.
It was well past midnight when the inn door swung open.
Harrison lugged in the bucket he’d brought with him, sloshing liquid on the ground. His pants were soaked from the knee down, and dripped as he made his way through the inn.
Rynnth glared at him and shook her head.
“Might want ya get outta the way, Fabian.” She grunted, gesturing for him to come back behind the bar. “This could get ugly.”
He darted behind the counter, his eyes locked on Harrison.
“What did you tell him, Jackard?” His voice still had that chilly composure to it.
Jackard leaned against his chair, laughing darkly.
“What’re you talking about, Harry?”
“I said,” he barked, his molten eyes flashing as his anger flared, “What did you tell Fabian?”
Jackard laughed again, locking eyes with Harrison.
“Nothing other than the truth-”
“You,” Harrison snarled, “Have been away from the ocean for too long, you fish-brained asshole.”
He swung the bucket over Jackard’s head, dumping its contents on him- soaking him head-to-toe in saltwater. Bits of seaweed trailed limply down the man’s sandy curls, and flopping to the floor.
Just then, deep red gashes appeared up on Jackard’s neck, the skin fluttering open as he gasped.
Gills.
Fabian didn’t have time to process it before Jackard’s fist connected with Harrison’s jaw, knocking the taller man clean off his feet. He fell onto the floor with a splash, glaring at Jackard.
Then, something seemed to shift.
Jackard’s eyes shimmered brighter, the cerulean intensifying. His skin seemed more vibrant, and his face relaxed from it’s typical haughty expression.
“Oh,” he said softly, as if in a daze, “Harry- I- I didn’t mean it, I’m sor-”
Harrison held up a hand, cutting him off.
“Don’t.”
He stood, shook his arms of excess water, and stormed off up the stairs.
“Well, it’s over.” Rynnth sighed “Shit that we gotta clean all that water up, though.”
“What the hell just happened?” Fabian couldn’t take his eyes off of Jackard, who sat smiling softly at the table, humming to himself. He had completely changed personalities, Fabian didn’t even recognize him.
“Kriopti is a Mer species,” She shrugged, “What ya seeing? That’s his usual self. Day-dreamy scatterbrain. Turns inta an a piece of shit when he dries out. Happens every time he visits.”
“And Harrison?”
“Ehh he’ll be fine. Always is.”
She seemed unconcerned, but it didn’t sit well with Fabian. Harrison had seemed so vulnerable earlier, so unsteady and unsure. He felt he owed it to him to at least check and make sure he was alright.

Darkpaw’s first day
“Darkpaw! Darkpaw!” Darkpaw felt warmth run through her body as she heard her clanmates cheering her new name. She looked around the RiverClan camp at all the familiar faces smiling at her as they cheered for her. She saw her younger kin, Mosskit and Blackkit yowling her name louder than any other cat in the clan. She looked up at her new mentor, Bluesplash, who nudged her gently, “Are you ready?” he mewed softly, his long blue gray fur shinning in the newleaf sun. Darkpaw bounced up and down like an excited kit, “Oh yes! Can my littermates come too?”. Bluesplash shook his head but purred lightly, “Ask me again in 3 more moons, but maybe you can bring back a big fish to share though!” He meowed as he headed towards the entrance, “Are you ready?” he flicked his tail at her. Darkpaw sprinted over to his side, her whole body buzzing as if a swarm of bees was inside of her. She lifted her head up high, her short black fur fluffed up in excitment, her violet eyes shone as bright as the sun, “I’m always ready.”
As the sun was setting beyond the trees Darkpaw and Bluesplash walked into the RiverClan camp. Darkpaw’s fur was still dripping from falling into the river after she caught her first fish, leaving tiny wet paw prints behind her as she walked. Despite being soaked and tired, she held her head up high and proud, dragging a pink fish twice her size into the camp. She felt warm hearing her clanmates praises as she put her first on the top of the fresh kill pile. She looked around the camp looking for her kin, surely they’d be proud of her first catch! Her heart fluttered as she spotted Blackkit fighting a goose feather. She ran over to him and as she neared he jumped up, his fluffy black fur covered in moss and dust from rolling around, “Darkpaw! You’re back! You’re all wet though, did you drown?” he gasped at her. Darkpaw purred, “No fishbrain, I didn’t drown, I actually caught a huge fish today!” she boasted, slightly bragging. Blackkit, however, was already back to playing with the feather, “That’s cool Darkpaw,” he mewed absently. Darkpaw looked around the camp, “Where is Mosskit?”. Blackkit pounced on the feather, “Probably talking to herself or staring at some puddle again,”. Darkpaw padded away looking out for her younger sister. She felt a pang in her chest, wishing her kin were the same age as her so they could have spent the day together. Darkpaw had been born as an only kit 3 moons before Blackkit and Mosskit were kitted. Their mother, Blossomlight, had never really taken a liking to Darkpaw. Darkpaw never knew who her father was, she knew some cats believed it was Sunnose, Blossomlight’s mate, but she knew it wasn’t. When Darkpaw was a kit she once overheard the elders talking about how StarClan told the medine cat that she was a bad omen. Being that the litter was only one kit and with her being a long skinny black kit with ears too big for her head, the clan knew she was wrong. It didn’t help that StarClan told Blossomlight that her kit had “no stars in her body”. Growing up Darkpaw had never really been loved the way all the other kits were with their kin, she was glad though when Mosskit and Blackkit came along, they got the love from Blossomlight they deserved. Darkpaw shook her head and continued to look around the camp for her sister. She finally spotted her sister, Mosskit, sitting at the edge of the camp by herself talking to herself yet again. Darkpaw’s ears grew hot, she knew all the cats in the clan thought she was odd for only ever talking to herself. She padded over to her sister and sat down, “Hey Mosskit, who are you talking to?” she looked down at her sister, her long feather gray fur making her look twice her size. Mosskit looked up at her sister, “Oh, hi Darkpaw, I’m just talking to Blizzardnose, don’t you recognize her?” she tilted her head to the side, clearly confused. Darkpaw felt her heart drop, her body felt like ants were crawling all over, “Oh yes, sorry Mosskit I must just be tired after today,” she said, forcing a smile. Mosskit averted her attention back to the empty space in front of her and continued her conversation as if her sister never said anything. Darkpaw took a slow step backwards, her body shaking, she turned and sprinted across camp. Her vision blurring as she burst through the medicine cat den entrance. She stood there panting for a moment to gather her thoughts, barely hearing Mintberry calling her name. She looked up at the RiverClan medicine cat, Mintberry stared at her, worry in her eyes, “Darkpaw what’s wrong? Is some cat hurt?” Darkpaw shook her head, “It’s Mosskit, she’s doing it again,” she said frantically. Mintberry sighed then sat down, “Who was it this time?” she said quietly, beckoning Darkpaw with her tail to come sit beside her. Darkpaw padded over, sitting down next to the medicine cat, the smell of herbs making her scrunch up her nose. She shook her head and whispered, “It was Blizzardnose,” she felt Mintberry stiffen beside her. Mintberry lowered her head, looking down at her paws she whispered so quietly that Darkpaw had to lean in to hear her, “She died less than a moon ago, how is Mosskit talking to her?”. Before Darkpaw could say anything Mintberry sat up straight and looked at Darkpaw with a smile, “I wouldn’t worry about it too much kit, Mosskit has a crazy imagination, she is probably just playing!” she mewed. Darkpaw narrowed her eyes at the medicine cat, “No she isn’t just pretending-” “Why don’t you do rest, you’ve had a long day,” Mintberry cut off the apprentice and started to shove her towards the entrance. Before Darkpaw could say anything she was standing alone in the clearing, the claw shaped moon already hanging high in the sky. She sighed and headed to her new nest in the apprentice den. She looked in nervously, the other two apprentices, Otterpaw and Stormpaw, were already in their nests. Otterpaw lifted his head, his yellow eyes shining in the moonlight, “Hi Darkpaw, we made you a nest over here,” he pointed with his nose to a spot near the two brothers’ nest. She nodded her thanks, and once she curled up in her new nest her body melted into the moss. She sighed, her mind racing as she drifted into sleep, ‘I know Mosskit isn’t just making this up, there is something special about her. Maybe she has all the stars of StarClan in her.  Maybe StarClan was right and I have no stars in me.’

Chapter Five
Lionpaw drug his paws sloppily through the cold, dusty leaf litter. Keeping his head lowered, he lamely followed Stormfur on a patrol of Thunderclan territory. His head was racing with angered thoughts and feelings of disbelief. He couldn’t believe Firestar would ever consider saddling him with some cat who wasn’t even from the clan!
While he was preoccupied with his tantrum, he didn’t notice that Stormfur had stopped directly in front of him. The gray tom was looking at him expectantly, waiting for him to answer a question he wasn’t even listening to.
Stormfur twitched his whiskers and was clearly suppressing a sigh. “I was just asking if either of your parents have taken you out to see the lake before.” Turning his head, he gruffly added, “Because we’re here now.”
Finally taking in his surroundings, Lionpaw’s eyes widened at the massive body of water in front of him. Even in the bitter cold of leaf-bare, the lake was absolutely stunning. The pristine clear water was gently lapping at the polished colorful stones on the shore.
Stormfur hummed. “That’s what finally got your attention?” His voice only seemed to annoy Lionpaw more.
“Aren’t you supposed to be training me? Why are we out here anyways?” Lionpaw tossed aside a pawfull of sandy pebbles. His comment seemed to hurt his mentor, seeing as the gray cat pinned his ears back.
“Learning your territory is a key factor of your apprenticeship. It’s my job to teach you these things.” Stormfur’s voice was leveled as he tried his best to remain calm. “Shouldn’t you be excited you’re out of camp anyways?”
Lionpaw’s feelings were conflicting inside of him, like ants crawling through his pelt. He had waited his whole life for this moment, and yet his entire world had just been crushed. His excitement was completely ruined by this Riverclan cat.
Stormfur swallowed his growing anger. He simply shook his pelt, and gave Lionpaw a gentle smile. “From where we’re standing, you can actually see all three of the other clan’s territories.”
The gray tom pointed a huge paw to his left and noted, “You see those flat hills over there? We call that the moorland. Windclan lives among the open plains.” In a joking manor he added, “I guess that’s why they have so much air in their heads.”
Lionpaw twitched his ear and grunted in response.
Stormfur turned his head in the other direction. Lionpaw squinted his eyes. He could just barely make out a line of cats on the shoreline. That particular side of the forest looked dark and uninviting. He felt a shiver pass down his spine.
“Yeah I feel the same way about Shadowclan.” Storming murmured, eyeing the other cats warily. “They usually keep their distance if you leave them alone. But It’s best to always keep an eye of them.”
Lionpaw flexed his claws. “Why aren’t we actually going to the borders? So i can actually see where not to go?”
His comment looked to set off his mentor. Stormfur’s tail had fluffed up and was lashing against his sides.
“We already went to Windclan’s border this morning, Lionpaw.” The grey cat shut his eyes, and deeply inhaled. “I had asked if you wanted to set a marker, but I can see you were paying just as much attention to me as you were to your surroundings.”
His pelt itched, knowing he was in the wrong. “Yeah well. What about over there? Guessing that’s Riverclan, right?” He flicked his nose towards the other side of the lake.
Stormfur nodded. “We don’t have too much to do with them since we don’t share any borders with them. But since their specialty is swimming, you always need to make sure to come all the way down to the shore-edge.” He promptly turned tail, heading back into the forest’s welcoming cover.
Lionpaw chuffed, pawing the ground miserably. “I’d bet you’d know all about those stupid fishbrains.” He whispered to himself.
“Lionpaw what in the name of Starclan is wrong with you?” Stormfur whipped around to face him. Lionpaw jolted back, shocked that Stormfur had heard his comment.
He suddenly felt intimidated. Stormfur almost rivaled Brambleclaw in height.
“Why are you being so cruel?  Me and Brook have always treated you like family!” Stormfur’s eyes searched the young tom, clearly not understanding where his anger was coming from. But his mentor only spoke the truth. Lionpaw often remembered how much he loved playing with Stormfur, while his siblings listening to one of Brook’s stories.
He knew he was too far into it to back down now. Shouldering his feelings aside, he tipped his head back to meet his mentors eyes. “I don’t understand why Firestar paired me with you. You’re not a true Thunderclan cat!”
Stormfur flattened his ears. “Watch your tone with me, boy. Blood does not define who you are.”
His long fur was pushed forward by a strong gust of wind. “You of all cats should know that better than any other.”
His calmness only fueled Lionpaw’s growing fire. “You will never be a Thunderclan cat. Why don’t you just go back to Riverclan anyways?”
Stormfur’s voice suddenly exploded into a yowl, “Because this is the only family i have left! I would give my life to defend my brothers and sisters!”
“Not even your real clan wanted you! Why don’t you just leave!” Lionpaw screeched at the top of his lungs.
Stormfur reeled back as if his face was struck by fierce claws. Lionpaw instantly regretted his comment. I don’t have to apologize, I’m only telling the truth. His reassurance made him puff out his chest, awaiting the other tom’s response.
But Stormfur had only dipped his head, and was avoiding any eye contact. “Just ... Go home Lionpaw. I have nothing left to say to you.” His voice was cracked and strained.
Seeing Stormfur’s broken spirit completely deflated Lionpaw’s sense of righteousness. Lionpaw whipped around and tore through dead brambles.
The young cat ran blind with sorrow and anger, but at this point he couldn’t understand which was which. Why in the name of Starclan would i say something like that?!
What’s wrong with me? His mind raced with hateful thoughts that he hadn’t even noticed he was seconds away from ramming into another cat.
Too late! Lionpaw collided into a wall of fur, who then shrieked back in complete shock.
Brightheart had pinned him harshly against the ground. Lionpaw squirmed under her and hissed angrily, “It’s just me! Let me up!” In embarrassment Brightheart quickly released her hold on him.
“Great Starclan Lionpaw, you scared the fur off of me.” The gentle she-cat  smoothed her chest fur. She then narrowed her eye. “Where is Stormfur?”
Before he could respond, Jaypaw slid out from behind a nearby tree. His head was held high with pride as he showed off a freshly killed mouse. Brightheart purred with enthusiasm. “I knew you could do it. Your first true catch!”
Lionpaw flattened his ears. Jaypaw was having a great day, while he was left running from his problems.
“I’m so happy for you.” Lionpaw managed to say through gritted teeth. Jaypaw must’ve sensed his resentment. His tabby brother dropped his head, and muttered something he couldn’t quite understand.
Brightheart shifted her paws with uncertainty. “Look Lionpaw, i can see you’re upset. But I’m not letting you wonder around out here by your own.” She fixed him with a stern glare.
The she-cat touched Jaypaw’s shoulder with the tip of her tail. “Let’s head back to camp. I’m sure everyone is gonna want to hear about your first day!” Her cheerfulness seemed to lift Jaypaw’s spirit again.
--------------
Lionpaw dragged a few paces behind his brother and Brightheart. The trip back had been deathly silent, only making Lionpaw feel worse than he ever could.
The sun had already begun to set by the time they got back to camp. The clearing was buzzing with soft chatter, as the last patrol had just returned for the night.
“You can go ahead and join the other apprentices Jaypaw. You’ve done well today, and deserve a good rest.“ Brightheart laid her tail on her apprentices’ shoulder. Jaypaw only grumbled in response.
His tabby brother gave him a sympathetic lick. “Sorry your day was bad.” His comfort was ripped away when his brother trotted away to the fresh-kill pile.
“Lionpaw. I’m glad to see you made it back safe.”
Firestar’s voice made Lionpaw’s heart drop to the ground. Slowly turning, he was met with Firestar’s and Brambleclaw’s unreadable gazes.
Brightheart coughed awkwardly, and quickly excused herself to find her mate. Lionpaw swallowed the urge to scream for her to stay, knowing his punishment was just a wing beat away.
Brambleclaw stood, keeping his voice low. “I understand we need to have about loyalties. Come now, son.” His father lead the trio to the shelter of Firestar’s den.
A flash of bright orange fur bounded towards them. “Shall we begin?” His mothers calm voice only signaled to Lionpaw how deeply in trouble he was. Squirrelflight was strangely talented at hiding just how upset she was, unless you knew just how to read her.
This is it. This is how i die, he thought to himself sarcastically.
Lionpaw swallowed a hard lump in his throat, and ducked into Firestar’s den.

That blob was so vibrant. I was actually mildly afraid of the giant green blur in my field of vision, so I naturally had to poke it to "see" what it was. I can say with confidence that it was not as solid as I thought it was. 😅 #regrets . ANYWAY! Here is a look at the up-and-coming YouTube videos. Cuties
Damn It, you're going to get us In trouble, AGAIN." Keith mumbled to Lance as he followed behind him, grumbling. "You know, Allura and Shiro won't be happy If we go to the surface."
Lance turned around, sending Keith a wink. "Relax, we won't be gone long. I just want to see how everything looks on the surface."
Keith let out a sigh, "The stupid things I do with you Is starting to make me question my mental state. Fine, lead th way."
Lance grabbed Keith In a hug grinning, "See?! Was that so hard?"
"Let's just go before I change my mind, fishbreath."
"Why you- You know what, whatever." Lance hmphed, slapping his blue fins across Keith's face as he swam off.
"Ow! Get back here!"
"Catch me first!"
~*~
"Aye, aye. Hello there, princess-"
You raised a middle finger, "Fuck off."
"Well fine then, don't have to be such a bitch about It." The male frowned and walked off.
"Gosh, I can't stand going fishing with these dudes!" You groaned, resting your chin on the back of your hands, before the ship began to rock back and forth.
"Shit! We should go back! It's storming like hell out here!"
You fell onto the ship floor as the water began moving violenty as It was raining heavily, soaking your H/L H/C hair.
"Do you think the merpeople are mad?!"
"Damn It! there's no such things as mermaids, you goose!"
You rolled your eyes as the sailors fought, before lightning hit the ship, you jumped up as fire began to spread.
Life must hate me today.
The ship rocked one too many times and some of he sailors fell off Into the water.
Including you.
~*~
"Almost there!"
"Lance, there's nothing special here near the surface, so what makes you think there's somthing on the surface?"
"I'm just curious, fishbrain."
"Oh fin no. You did not just call me-"
"Look!" Lance cut Keith off, slapping his blue fins In his friend's face again.
"Huh...?"
There was something floating In the water.
Well, more like someone...
"They're Injured! Keith let's-"
"No, It's a human, Lance. We're already banned from the surface, so what would everyone think If we helped a human?!"
"I don't care what everyone thinks! I-"
"Lance, think about how disappointed Allura would feel."
Lance bit his bottom lip, closing his eyes tightly. "...I don't think Allura would forbade me for helping someone In need." Lance then swam off.
"Hold on- That's not what I- LANCE! Ugh!" Keith rolled his eyes following behind his friend.
~*~
After the storm died down, Lance and Keith brought Y/N to the surface, putting the female on a piece of wood which was left from the ship.
"How do we know If she's...Alive?" Keith mumbled, turning to Lance.
"She hasn't turned to seafoam, so that's a good sign."
"...Humans die differently, fishbreath."
"Oh- Wait! How do you know that humans die differently?!"
"...I'm not even going to entertain you and your stupidity."
"Jerk."
"...Mmm."
Keith and Lance quickly turned to the female, "She's waking up!"
"Good, lets go." Keith grabbed Lance's wrist, only for Lance to raise a brow. "Huh, why?!"
"Because, If she finds out we're merpeople we're gone like salmon. Now c'mon!" Keith let go of Lance's wrist and dived In the water.
Lance turned back to the female, who was awake and staring at him with wide eyes.
"...W..h..o......What are....You?"
Lance just sent her a smile.
"Nothing Important." He said simply and dived Into the water.
~*~
Dark brown hair,
Tan skin,
Blue eyes.
A few days have passed and you were playing with seashells on the beach.
He was pretty...
You kind of wished you stopped him so you could speak with him.
But...He had a tail.
Just what exactly was he?
You thought about one of the stupid stories that the sailors were telling and you shook your head.
Mermaids don't exist...
"Or do they...?" You jumped upon hearing a voice, you saw a...Creature swim up and smile at you behind a hood, white hair next to their cheeks.
"How would you like to see your savior again?"
You said the word 'yes' without even thinking.
The creature grinned, "Then you can, you just need to give me one thing In return."
You tilted your head, "Which Is...?"
"Your voice."
You put your hand near your throat, you raised a brow. "...Why?"
"You see...I never had a beautiful voice before."
"What makes you think I have a beautiful voice?"
"I was listening to your singing, now. Deal or no deal?"
You thought for a moment, If you exchanged your voice you could never talk or sing again...
But you'd be able to see him again...
Screw It.
"Deal."
"Excellent."
A bright light formed and surrounded you, before you knew It, you were In the water.
You cleared your throat trying to speak but words didn't come out, she actually took your voice In that short span of time.
You were suddenly feeling scared, reality was hitting you way too fast.
"Hello there, fellow mermaid." You heard a soft voice and looked up.
She had pink fins and long beautiful white hair.
The female smiled, "My name Is Allura, princess of Altea. What are you doing so far away from there?"
You looked down and noticed you had beautiful F/C fins, with scales as well! You were about to speak with the mermaid, but realized you couldn't talk, you put a hand over your lips and then crossed your two Index fingers over each other so It would be In the shape of an 'X'.
It took Allura a while to catch on, but she finally did. Her gaze softened. "Oh you poor thing...Come, I'll show you where Altea Is."
You took her hand as you swam beside her.
~*~
When you both made It to Altea you recognized him Instantly.
Dark brown hair, tan skin, blue eyes.
A smile formed on your lips.
Found you.
