Week one

beginning this project, I don't have an idea of what tools I'll be using beyond Miro has a tool to document my process and plan my project. My current challenges going forward are narrowing down my broad idea, to a more specific achievable task. To get to that, I'll be brainstorming through my idea, looking at other pre-existing precedents, and talking with my stream lecturer to get to that goal.

Getting back into my last sem of uni has been pretty big for me, this being our last sem I'm quite anxious at the thought of "real life" beginning has been weighing pretty heavy on me. However I'm still really excited to end my degree strong, with a passion project I'm ready to give my all to.

WEEK 1

In the first week of conducting interviews with students from first to fifth year, me and my team proposed three ideas/products to choose from. We also conducted a short brainstorming session to determine the best product/idea that will have a significant impact in our school.

The students provided valuable insights and were cooperative, which made me and my team happy to continue with the project. 😍

As I ventured inside and outside the campus of Central Mindanao University, I interviewed eight people regarding the problems they'd encountered and the things they needed or services they wished to have for a convenient life and an improved environment. There were people who saw that the main problem inside the campus is the lack of trash bins where you can dispose of your garbage directly and properly. They claimed that there is no proper waste disposal in every corner of campus, such as on benches, and that there are many vendors who sell foods inside the campus and in the market, where almost all of the students eat, buy goods, and print materials, making it difficult for them to dispose of wastes such as cellophane. The respondents said that there were a lot of times that they had a hard time finding trash bins, which was very inconvenient for them. Also, there is a person who said that her problem is finding a boarding house, especially here in Musuan, where it is so difficult to find a boarding house during the opening of a semester because all of them have no vacant beds to rent. However, our team decided that, since most of the respondents said that the main problem is the lack of trash bins, we should develop our hypothesis: "If there is automatic waste segregation everywhere, it will make everyone's life a lot easier to throw trash than a plain garbage can." This waste separation will not just be used on campus, but it is very applicable elsewhere. Everyone can use it in their boarding houses, offices, establishments, bus terminals, etc. Our team's decision is to create this idea of an automated waste segregation bin, wherein it would encourage everyone to dispose of their garbage in the right class. As a member of the group, I’ve learned that different people have their own opinions and perceptions about the products or services they need. Of course, I’ve encountered interviewees who didn’t know what problems they had to address or what services they needed. However, based on my interview, there are still people who value cleanliness in the environment, wherein they really prioritize disposing of their garbage in the bin and not just throwing it anywhere. In addition, we’ve learned that the very first step in creating a business is so difficult—why? You have to make sure that the product is for everyone and will have an impact on everyone’s life. You must create a product that is both useful and affordable to consumers in order for them to buy it because it is a good investment. 

WEEK 1: Tech101

Hello, my name is Christine T. Absurda, and I am a fourth-year USTP student studying in Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. I've never created a blog before, so I'm thrilled to be engaging in this kind of activity. I actually do this for our Technopreneurship course because it is mandatory, but I actually find it to be kind of fun because I enjoy writing about my thoughts even though my English grammar might need some improvement.

The Berkeley and 16 personality test are one of the assignments for our first week in Technopreneurship. I was quite astounded and happy by the outcome of my 16 personality test. It shows there that I am an INTP type of person, and that result is really accurate since it accurately reflects my personality. A quiet, reserved, and thoughtful personality type. As an introvert person, I prefer mostly to socialize with a small group of close friends with whom I share common interests and connections. But I kinda doubt if I do enjoy thinking about theoretical concepts though.

In the 16 personality test result it shows that I am 69% introverted in Mind. 56% intuitive in energy because maybe I am open-minded and curious about so many things. I got 55% on thinking under nature because I believe that basing things in a logical manner is more appropriate than basing it on emotions. I also got 68% in prospecting under Tactics because I also believe that being stuck in something is not helpful for myself or in any situation where things go wrong, it will just make me unproductive. Lastly I got 83% turbulent in my identity, I think it is because of I am self-conscious in so many things and that makes me want to improve myself or what I'm doing.

According to the result of my Berkeley Innovation Index, the trust, diversity, collaboration, and innovation zones received low marks. To enhance these skills, I must concentrate on these four zones. Particularly in the innovation zone, where I face significant obstacles to use my creativity to develop innovative solutions. I also need to communicate myself to the team more in the trust zone, which has the lowest score, if I want to build trust with them. I can't trust someone I don't know because I believe that trust must be earned by that person.

Despite the results I got, I think I can manage to overcome any obstacles that our team may face and I pray that all is well in this subject and also in any aspects in my life.

My first week has been awesome just like at an amusement park roller coaster 🎢

The first week at the university can be chaotic and nerve-wracking! Probably the hardest part is getting adjusted to a new culture and new rules. But, luckily, there are some helpful tips out there that can help you survive that first week of university.

The first week of the partial interview forced us to reconsider some of our preconceived notions. Since the people we questioned also provided some insights into our products, several of our ideas have been innovated.

They had two lovable small daughters, ages 4 and two, and a third on the way. The mom didn't communicate German, and I didn't communicate Arabic, so the father helped us talk in broken German. For the most part, we produced do with gestures and drawing photos. We enjoyed every others' company.
