This is my first video in a long time (since the 'even if it hurts' video in 2019!) and it's my first as a newly fully independent artist. It was a true passion project - in the best and most pure sense of that term - between myself and an amazing team.
I worked with my close friend and long time collaborator Jonatán López, and collaborated with choreographer Teresa 'Toogie' Barcelo.
The way this video came together was crazy, because we prepped it for months and shot it, but there was a huge mishap on behalf of someone which resulted in none of the footage being usable. I was on tour for two months after that and the entire project died. I, along with the rest of the team, was completely heartbroken.
Eventually though, we managed to re-shoot the whole video, two months after the original shoot !! The whole crew donated their time and we brought the video to a whole new level. I want to thank everyone who helped bring this together and revive the video that almost never was <3
hope you love it.
I can't believe I'm the one to have to say this as I'm not keen on cabaret culture but Le Crazy Horse is not some random gentleman's club or nudie bar, but a prestigious Cirque du Soleil style dance troupe. The dancers are prima ballerina-like athletes who happen to perform near nude. We're talking a-cups and a full 8 pack of abs to even get an audition. It's considered an honour to perform there, quite a few cross over from ballet.
I happen to believe that strippers and exotic dancers are skilled performers who do a physically taxing and emotionally intelligent job so I consider some of the Atlanta strip clubs on the same professional level as a Vegas revue.
But seeing the parisian Crazy Horse described as similar to the red light district Amsterdam Bananenbar feels iffy given the cultural cachet given to getting to perform there as a musician, magician or dancer. It's regularly sponsored by Louboutin and very expensive lingerie brands. I don't mean to insult the Bananenbar ladies either because woof that must take quite some skill but it's not going on bold on your dancers résumé in the same way.
Inviting people to Bananenbar is a bachelorette party/hen night kind of vibe, inviting someone to Le Crazy Horse is considered classy and fancy, especially if you're into dance. I imagine Bananenbar ladies make more in tips but Crazy Horse ladies (it is not a well paid gig at 30k a year) get to cash in on prestige for future jobs.
I know for a fact if Leo saw the Barbie Movie he would learn the Ken song word by word and sing it with his entire heart at any possibly chance he could get and Piper would materialize out of seemingly thin air to join in
the real star of Jhoome Jo Pathaan is the silver earcuff and dangle earring that they have given SRK along with his various necklaces, rings, arm taweez and glorious hair, taking no further statements at this time
mean girls the musical - yea not every musical needs a movie especially since mean girls was already a movie 😭😭😭. also I think this movie was shot to be viewed on tik tok. this movie had tik tok in mind 100% because one of the songs is a popular soundon there but it rlly feels like they made it for Tik tok IDK. and all the lines that are iconic now just seem like throw aways in this. like everybody is rushing through them out of embarrassment 🫤
Literally just his entire betrayal scene. The music, the choreography(? Is that the right word?) THE VOICE ACTING. I may be absolutely horrified of Stephen Merchant but god I’d be lying if I said his performance was bad
This scene is what got me into the fandom. This beautiful, wonderful scene. The way you can tell exactly when Wheatley betrays even when you’re only listening to the music by itself is amazing. The beautiful red light underneath Wheatley showing how he’s corrupted by the chassis
All that built up sadness and anger in Wheatley finally coming out as he yells “I AM NOT A MORON” god it’s just amazing
I love this orb. I love him so much. He’s not a moron, he’s just hurt. He just needs someone who cares about him. Who loves him for who he is
I wish I could on and on but it feels impossible to put my love of this scene into actual words
Anyways, here’s a link to watch it
