Phoenix Wright/Miles Edgeworth:
One of the best examples of friends to strangers to “enemies” to lovers. Despite being technically enemies they still help each other through the game. The way they talk to each other is extremely telling of their relationship. You can really just feel the tension between these two. The fact Phoenix becomes a lawyer just to have a chance at seeing Edgeworth again(after knowing him for like a few months when they were kids).The whole “unnecessary feelings” line Edgeworth gives. The unwavering trust Phoenix puts in Edgeworth through the last case of the game.
Fiddleford Hadron Mcgucket/Stanford Fillbrick Pines:
1) There was only one bed in the bunker and i will never get over that
2) they had a BIG breakup fight
3) they broke up twice actually (head canon) / they went to college together
4) they drive each other insane (literally) and also Fidds tries to erase Ford's memory so take that as you will
5) they get to reconnect and heal 30 years later asfhljklafk

It had been raining the night Nelly left. She and Pops had been fighting. Don't even remember what had set him off that night, but they had been going at it for the better part of an hour until finally.... Fillbrick had taken it too far.... " All you're gonna be fucken good for is laying on your back and taken dick like the whore you've been!! You think I don't hear the talk around the town!?" The room went deathly quiet for a moment. "Fillbrick!!!" "Pops!!" Both Caryn and Ford cried out. Ma Pines came barreling to smack her husband, but her daughter held her back. "Nelly move your arm now!! You and Ford go up to your room no--" "..no..." Caryn looked at her daughter, concern etched into her face. Nelly was staring blankly at her father. Ford slowly came up behind her. "N-nelly?" Still silence. Tears started to form in her eyes. Even Fillbrick flinched a little at the sight. Slowly, Nelly's arm came down to her side. Inhaling slowly, Nelly spoke with a finality in her voice, that made Ford's stomach drop. " Fine... if that's what you believe Pops... then maybe that's just what I'll gO AND DO YOU SHITTY DICKFACE!!" Nelly screamed and sobbed as she bolted out the door and slamming it closed. The family stood in shock for a moment, before Ford turned back to glare at his father, " How could you say that!?" Before he ran out the same door after his twin sister. Cayrn glared angrily at her husband, her fists shaking ready to beat the shit out of him. But before she got the chance, she heard her son calling out desperately-- "NELLY!! NELLY WAIT!!" and then she heard the roar of her daughter's car come to life and the tires screeching down the road, Ford still screaming for her to come back. She and Fillbrick ran to the window just in time to see the rear lights turn around the corner into the night

Zodiac and Rose spent all day together, talking about themselves. Apparently, Rose had come through a portal that opened up near her camp site. That tracked, lots of portals had opened and closed randomly around town since the "incident".
Rose was happy to gush about the history of her world and the music-worshiping people in it. “There are many Troll species. And long ago, the six most numerous species lived together their settlements making a perfect circle.” She drew a ring of circles in the dirt, and pointed to each one. “Pop Rock Country Classic Techno Funk. And in the center of the circle was a special area reserved for children born of interbreeding. The country rock, the funky techno, the classic pop, etc. Over time these hybrids inter married so much they created their own species. The Platinum Trolls.”
“Platinum as in the metal or platinum as in the record award?”
Rose hesitated before answering. “… yes.”
Zodiac laughed. Laughing felt good. “So, is that your people?” They asked.
"Yeah. We're supposed to have the best aspects of all the other tribes. But it's been so long since we've even written a song."
“Have you met the other troll species?”
“Some of them. I don’t tell them who I am to avoid a fuss. But now, I don’t know if I see any of them again.”
Zodiac leaned back against a tree and said, “I… we know how that feels. We aren’t ourselves anymore. But we aren’t one person either. Maybe this is our punishment for almost destroying our world.”
“Let’s leave together.” Rose said. “I can look for other trolls and you can find a way to turn back into yourselves.”
They made arrangements. Printing out clones to go back to Piedmont and the the Gleefuls and the Corduroys and the Valintinos and the Northwest’s and even someone to go back to Abuelita and Melody.
At the very edge of Gravity Falls, they stood with Rose on their shoulder. The first step outside was the hardest, like literally walking through jello, but they made it, and they took another step, and more, and more steps. Until everything faded away behind them.

Riley pulled away from Zodiac, something clinging to her hand.When her head cleared, she realized she was holding hands with a little boy who had brown curly hair, a sunburnt nose, and wearing a salmon pink t-shirt with a blue puffy vest and blue shorts, and a blue and white baseball cap. Holding his hand was a girl with long curly brown hair, wearing a hot pink sweater and a skirt. They both landed on the ground bellyflop style. Zodiac gasped and collapsed senseless. The old man ~ Fillbrick Pines Riley realized ~ got up and limped away.
The boy ~ Dipper Pines ~ was to first to wake up.
"Oh my GOd don't tell me we've fallen into a deeper depth of magic and madness where we've convinced ourselves we're each back to normal..." He bumped into a tree, then sat down examining his hands. "Or maybe I really am back to normal..."
He noticed the girl still laying in the snow and shook her awake.
"Hey Mabel,"
She sprang upright, revealing the stylized shooting star sewn onto her sweater.
"AHHH! What's happend? WHere are my powers? I forgot how to hambone!!!" Then she looked around. "Oh."
They looked around, Riley was staring at them dazed, Zodiac was sprawled out senseless on the ground, Kryptos was gone, Tone was gone, they were exposed to the cold and danger.
Mabel started freaking out again. Dipper took her hands and comforted her.
“It’s going to be okay. I promise, as long we’re together we”
He coughed mid-sentence, and a splatter of blood splashed onto Mabel’s sweater.
“Your…” that was as far as he got before collapsing in her lap.
Riley gasped at the scene before her. This was bad. They had to get shelter immediately.
She called Miguel and Species. They helped carry the children back to the clinic while Jack Frost helped carry Zodiac, who was actually glowing in their unconscious state.

Zodiac paced back and forth in agitation,
“You know what? This is good this is perfect. Now they can go home and we can…”
“What? Aren’t the rest of you going to come out? Riley can just pull you apart.” Mabel said.
Riley looked at Zodiac, feeling uncomfortable, the memories still filling her mind.
“That man… was he…”
“A distraction. Nothing more. Probably just some artificial life form that creep created to mess with us. We’ll probably never see him, IT, again.”

Pitch Black chose that moment out of all moments to make his entrance.
“Dear Jack. You’ll be glad to know I’m no longer going to scare children. I have found something much more fulfilling.”
He walked right over to Tone, took her hand, and kissed it. Tone cringed in discomfort.

There is gunfire.
Species is afraid of guns.
Miguel tried to comfort him. He reached out his hand to touch his shoulder.
Species only registered that he was in danger! And someone was going to touch him! Instinctively, impulsively, he turned around and struck!

Pines family headcanons for your consideration
Ford didn't want scientific accolades or his name in lights. He could have stopped at gnomes and published a few papers with live specimens and photos for proof and never had to work again. He could have put a single photograph of the UFO under the town into a national newspaper. He didn't want fame, he wanted knowledge
The first time Ford tells Stan that he couldn't possibly understand what he went through in the portal, Stan doesn't get mad. Instead he sits down with a beer and starts telling him about the winter he spent sleeping in his car at rest stops, the summer he spent in prison in New Mexico, the eight hours he spent in the trunk of a car and the many, many enemies he's made along the way. Ford realizes he and Stanley understand each other far better than they should, and he feels guilty for being relieved.
Sherman left home a long time before Stan, and he didn't look back. He moved to California, as far away as he could get from Jersey. Leaving an abusive home as an older sibling is hard when you know you're leaving your siblings behind, so he decided to pretend they didn't exist. Fillbrick didn't reach out until news of Stan's "death", and Shermie didn't even attend the funeral. Instead he went to visit Ford in Oregon, only to learn he had his extra fingers removed and he had apparently broken down and abandoned science in the wake of his twin's death. He feels responsible.
So when he's about to have grandchildren and he's still having a hard time getting "Stanford" to talk with him, he invites him to meet Mabel and Dipper
And when Stan pretends he isn't crying while he holds them and very very quietly tells them to be kind to each other, Sherman and his son immediately decide this sad old man is going to BE CLOSE TO THESE KIDS, dammit
I don't know how or why or if I like it, but that gold chain Stan wears is definitely the same one that he decorated for Fillbrick in the Lost Legends story
The flashback that shows Stan in prison in Colombia (I think?) appears to be after Ford went missing, and I think he was probably looking for the journals
Which means Ford now has a criminal record in Colombia lol
I like to think that the baby in ATOTS was another Pines sibling, maybe a girl, and she still lives on the east coast
Shermie probably also has other children, and his children probably also have children
And I just want a 100k+ family drama fic of Stan and Ford forcing themselves back into their families lives and showering every child they meet in gobs of affection

"I'm not gonna give my son to a eldritch demon!"

This conversation between Ma and Pa was already hours long. Terrified Ford was silently sitting in the corner already imagining what kind of horrible things this monster will do to him. Oh Gods, he really shouldn't have go to that abounded castle and touch that painted circle on the wall.
Stanley on the other hand was thinking. If Ford will be gonna what his life going to be? Pa was never really liked him and sometimes Stan catches himself on thought that dad didn't throw him out because someone has to keep his precious Ford company. Not that Stan mind, he liked being with Ford all the time. After all, they're brothers, they're twins...
Twins... that it!
This idea might be bad and cruel, but it's might be the only thing he's good for.. maybe even Pa will ...
" I'll go"
"We ca- wait what?"
"Ford, does that ... demon thing notices your hands?"
Stanford snapped out of his fantasize.
"Wha-?"
"Does. That. Thing. Know. About. Six. Fingers?"
Ford remembers , that every creature that he's meet comments that he has six fingers, but that demon doesn't.
" I-I don't think so... maybe it didn't not..."
"Then its going work out fine."
Room was silent.
"Stanley, swettie..."
"Hey, hear me out, if we give Ford to that demon kindom will lose one of smartest people in the whole country, maybe even world! If I go ... no-one will lose anything important..."
"Stanley, we won't-!"
All of a sudden, the king, Fillbrick, stand from his chair. He walked to Stanley. His expression was as always unimpressed. After a seconds of silence he spoke.
" Good luck"
And walk out of the room.

The day has come. Dark cloud appear in the sky upon ruined old castle. The was a human. An only human was standing there, waiting for eldritch beast to take him.
Like a tornado , dark fog with little golden sparkles surrounded whole castle and start to picking it up to the sky.
In kindom, in castle, Ford was in panic, in fear, in sadness.., he was begging father to let him out, to go to ruins, to save his brother! He was ... unlocked and free...
But
When he was in the old castle, the was no castle at all... only big pit and a fading little smoke in the sky.
That was the day, when kindom was saved, when young prince give a price for his mistakes, and the day when he promised on his life and his six fingers that he will found a way to demon realm, he will kill the demon and get his brother back, or at least what's left of him.

Hello. In regards to Fillbrick Pines; do you ever imagine him coming to a horrible end? Or consider writing a horrible end for him in your AUs??
I don't tend to consider him all that much outside stories set when the Stans are young. I usually imagine he's passed away by the time Ford gets back from the portal.
In the pirate au, he does die prematurely though, somewhere in between Ford leaving for that research mission and him returning back home.
