atla fics i want to write but in a future investigative journalist kinda way/vibe; some potential ideas:
The Boiling Rock idea 1: a journalist goes to the Boiling Rock Prison, now at the centre of controversy as reports come to light for the first time detailing the horrific abuse endured by prisoners during the war.
The Boiling Rock idea 2: a journalist investigates the rumours that Fire Lord Zuko and Ambassador Sokka broke in, and out of the Fire Nation's most notorious prison, expecting it not to come to fruition, and instead, uncovering one of the most insane stories of the year.
Pentapox: a journalist investigates a mysterious outbreak of the so-called "pentapox" disease that broke out towards the end of the war in the then Fire Nation-occupied city of Omashu, in which a highly documented disease resulted in the release of dozens of Earth Kingdom citizens from the city to stop the spread, despite there being no record of any similar disease then or since.
Azulon, Ursa and Ozai: a journalist decides to take the plunge and investigate the suspicious and frankly disturbing timeline of events that lead to Fire Lord Ozai taking the throne. Through a series of harrowing interviews with previous servants, political experts and even a special interview with the Fire Lord himself, they learn their suspicions of murder and violence were tame compared to the truth.
Ba Sing Se's missing women: a journalist delves into the bizarre series of disappearances of Ba Sing Se women in the final decade of the war and the state secrets that surround it (i.e., all the women the Dai Li brainwashed were people, and there's no way there wasn't some scary as fuck rumours about the Dai Li kidnapping women and then seeing them again, except they no longer have any idea who their loved ones are)
The Blue Spirit: A journalist looks into the bizarre crimes of a masked vigilante who robbed both the rich and the poor, freed the Avatar, and ended their story in the Ba Sing Se catacombs. The story leaves everyone with a lot of questions, and very few answers.
The Boy in the Iceberg: a journalist decides to delve into the truth of what happened to Avatar Aang in between the time he went missing and 100 years later. Through incredible exclusive interviews with Chief Katara and Ambassador Sokka, they learn about the events that led to Aang being discovered, and what it meant to leave their home behind to save the world.
The Freedom Fighters: A journalist and their journey tracking down one of the most well-known resistance groups in the later half of the war as they learn the fate of it's leader and the terrible cost of war on the children that were pushed into fighting.

open starter for @cagliostrostart // the glitz blitz!
⸻ Dollie, the epitome of unbridled insensitivity and charisma, stands outside of the center stage in the midst of The Glitz Blitz, a knock-out style tournament hosted by the royals (as a rather bizarre distraction from the leak about human sacrifices, but we weren't going to go into that). Clutching a tiny microphone in her perfectly manicured hand, she gazes into the camera with a signature wide smile, unfazed by the grim surroundings of the fighting arena.
"And…we're back!" she chirps, her tone as chipper as a morning bird (a mask she'd worked very hard on putting up). "We're back with another electrifying round of The Glitz Blitz! The place where champions rise, hearts race, and warriors, like, totally kick ass! Speaking of kicks—you, like, totally haven't had spice until you've tried Giovanni's Spicy Beef Bulgogi and Gnocchi!" Dollie winks at the camera, her tone completely unbothered by the contrast between her lively promotion and the serious nature of the event.
With a swift turn, she directs her attention to the closest person nearby, shoving the tiny mic in their face with eager anticipation. "You! What do you think of the tournaments so far? Like, the thrill, the action, and, of course, the fantastic food recommendations!" She pauses to wink at the camera again, "It's like, a total rollercoaster of excitement, right?" Her false enthusiasm remains intact, even amidst the peculiar and unsettling environment around.

Four: No Option
Switching this to third person for a while..
After Vince hung up, Yovanna stood there dumbfounded. This was a good choice right? Agreeing to join wwe, starting a rivalry straight off the bat, sleeping with that guy; they were all good choices right?
No, fuck no. Hell no. Yovanna was at a cross road, before she was skeptical about wwe but joined to help her career, then she was so positive about her decision with wwe and now? She's regretting everything, I guess realization finally came and slapped her.
Yovanna didn't know shit about wrestling, she didn't know how to wrestle or what wwe was even like now. The only time she ever watched wwe was when she was six up to her being twelve and then she just stopped. Wwe could of made a heavy Change already and she didn't know shit.
She began to second guess herself; which she never do. What if that's Vince's plan? To just use Yovanna up and the embarrass her before throwing her to the curb, how could she face anyone after that? The media sees her as a champion, as a fighter, as a sadistic being who loves to fight and live for the pain. She has a reputation and shoes to fill, she couldn't afford to have everything ruined. Maybe she still has time to just quit while she's ahead. Or maybe it's already too late.
"From the look on your face, you are now seeing my point huh? There's no point now Vonna. You dug yourself into a hole you can't escape and now you gotta go through it, if you go down. Don't go down alone." Eva was absolutely right like always, if she does go down in the end, she might as well drag everyone down with her. Her lips curled into a smile as she pulled her best friend beside her, their arms linking as they began to walk out.
"Can you come with me for my contract signing? You're the only smart one I know, plus I'ma need someone to read over the contract and make copies just in case Vince tries to double cross me." She was right to not trust Vince, the man was problematic and shady. Only a idiot would put their whole trust in someone who is known for ruining people's careers for money.
Eva just nodded in reply, her attention was now towards her phone which made Yovanna doubt if she was even listening, sometimes it was like talking to a wall. A wall with DD breast and big ass cockroach looking lashes.
They both got into the car and drove off to the apartment they forgot they had. The car ride was silent, the only noise that was heard was the sound of Eva's fingers tapping away at her keyboard, for how long that continued it sounded like the girl was writing a whole novel. Not even a minute later Yovanna's phone buzzed, she took her eyes off the road for a second to unlock it only to see it was a text from Vince about her contract signing being scheduled for tomorrow. The bad thing was WWE were going to be in a whole different city tomorrow so that means the girls had to take a road trip and Eva was not going to like that. The girl turns into a gremlin when she stays in one place for too long, its never pretty.
"Eva...how do you feel about taking a small road trip to San Diego?" Yovanna asked, her voice hinting that she was a bit afraid. Afraid on how Eva was going to react, the girl may-be small but she was a firecracker or in better words, a chihuahua, when pissed off.
Once again Yovanna was met with silence which was bad. Silence was never good, it only met they were trying to calm down before yelling or...well they were trying their best not to yell at you for asking such a stupid ass question, that's what Yovanna did.
"You lucky I love you to agree. You better set up a bed in the backseat and have a whole bunch of snacks.." Eva finally spoke which made Yovanna sigh in realif, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding.
Once they got to the apartment, the girls split up to do different things. Eva decided to charge all of her portable charges and computer before heading in the shower meanwhile Yovanna had to set up the back seat of her car with soft blankets and pillows then she ordered snacks from door dash because she was too lazy to go drive to a grocery store.
It was only 4pm and the girls weren't even close to ready, both of them still haven't packed, and door dash was taking hours to get here which was horrible since Yovanna added ice cream to the list, hopefully the cooler will fix whatever has melted by now.
"I thought you would be out buying shit right now, like..food and a new outfit." Eva suggested, eyeing her best friend's choice of clothes that she was wearing.
"What's wrong with my outfit?" Yovanna frowned, looking down at her clothes. She was wearing black sweatpants and a black sportbra, follow by a black flannel that wasn't even buttoned. Yeah it was definitely not something a ufc champion was supposed to wear but it made her comfortable.
"Its giving me, tomboyish vibes. And don't get me wrong, I love my woman to dress like how you dress but babe, you are switching career paths. Wwe might not be the same as Ufc with the dress code." Eva shrugged, as she threw her clothes in her bag in a messy way. God, it was getting annoying on how right Eva was.
Sighing in defeat, Yovanna gave in. "Fine but...can I borrow your clothes? We're like the same size right?" Yovanna's question caused Eva to laugh hysterically which she soon stopped once she saw that Yovanna was being actually serious.
"Girl, you are way taller than me plus you have mosquito bites for breast, my tops won't look right on you." Mosquito bites? Really? Yeah Yovanna's breast was small but was they that damn small?
"Fine..I'll go shopping. But check for door dash! And pack my stuff too since you wanna insult my tits"
"Your boobs belong to a middle schooler." Eva shot back which caused Yovanna to gasp dramaticlly before leaving. On her way to her car, she wondered what the hell was she supposed to buy that would make her look WWE Diva material. Was lingerie allowed? Would that help?
Questions clouded her mind while she drove to the nearest mall. Once going inside, her eyes went to Victoria's Secret. Might as well buy some thongs while she was there.
Walking into the little store, hers eyes went to a cute laced bra and a matching thong, she quickly grabbed the set and grabbed a few more different set that all had the same color, black. Once the items got checked out, she wondered off into so many departments, just buying whatever seemed girly. She was the kind to wear a one color set or everything that has to match so you should understand how difficult it was for her right now, just buying whatever she thought was cute and what she could pulled off.
She ended up buying a sleeveless turtleneck dress, a couple of Short dresses, more sweatpants with matching bras, some shoes and some see through outfits. Checking the time, she quickly rushed to the car with multiple bags in her arms. It was getting late and the girls had to get on the road now.
Skipping to the road trip
The time read 4: 22 a.m, Eva was in the backseat sleeping with her mouth wide open while Yovanna drove with a candy bar in her mouth, listening to adele on the radio. They been driving for 10 hours with only a few bathroom breaks and multiple complaints from Eva on her having to pee on the side of the road. In her words, it made her feel " inhuman and dirty". She was fine with it before hand but got pissed when she lost balanced and fell on her ass. She kept cussing Yovanna out in Portuguese for laughing till she fell asleep.
The rest of the car ride was peaceful, the music distracted Vonna from her thoughts and the achy feeling in her chest as she just kept her eyes on the road and of course admiring how beautiful the sky was at night. You think she would be tired but the girl chugged 6 cans of Pepsi and ate a bag of takis followed by the snickers that was still between her lips.
Thanks to her GPS she was only two hours away from the city, she thought it would be best to park on the side of the road once they were a hour away so she could take a power nap because who needed a hotel?
They do.
They definitely do.
They smelled like a teenage boy who was in his room playing video games and drinking Mountain dew for two days with no sunlight.
It was that bad, especially since Eva fell in her own piss, ass first. Even though she wasted a ton of baby wipes to clean herself from the accident. She still calimed she smelt like piss, even worse...a boy's lockeroom.
Vonna could feel her eyes starting to get heavy but she ignored it and kept pushing forward, besides she was only a few minutes away anyway. At this point she decided to change her plan and drive to a hotel once they got there. She parked in the parking lot and fell asleep just like that.
What she didn't know was that hotel she chose was the hotel all the a
Wwe superstars were in.
