Nota couldn't help but feel excited, they were going to Skaro! She had heard so much about it growing up but had never been because it had been too toxic to be on the surface without protection, the risk would be mutation, which was why the Supreme Dalek, her father, hadn't allowed her to go. But that changed, Daleks had been sent ahead a while back, maybe a year or so ago? To do a clean up of the nuclear waste so the planet would be habitable, and while it had taken some time, it was habitable and she would finally get to see it, she looked out the window and was just beginning to make out a bright red planet that she almost mistook for Mars, but they were nowhere near the Solar System that Earth resided in, she realised it was Skaro, she looked to where her father was on the command platform "Dad I can see Skaro! That's Skaro right?" she asked as she pointed to the red planet.

Halle's Comet - Part One (Tony Stark x OC)
Summary: Halle is determined to set boundaries with Tony at his New Year's Eve party, whether he likes it or not.
Word Count: 1,420
Warnings: Dub-con kiss
Halle surveyed the partygoers, registering a few familiar faces in the crowd of hundreds she didn’t recognize. Some faces and names she knew, not well perhaps, but she was at least able to pick some out of the throngs of people. She’d been questioning why Tony invited her at all when they were supposedly just in this mutual beneficial relationship, but she could see now that it didn’t quite matter at all to Tony who he invited, as long as it was one of the biggest parties this New Year's Eve.
Halle wandered the room, wondering how long she might have to wait until she saw the illusive host. He did make a habit of showing up to his own parties, didn’t he? She didn’t peg him for some Jay Gatsby type. No, Tony always liked attention, and he’d make a show of himself sooner or later. Of that she could be sure.
Finally giving up at attempting to find a friendly face and make small talk, Halle took a seat at a bar, one of the several small stations situated about the room, where she sipped her drink of choice; a Rossini. She did love a good party, and this certainly qualified, but without any friends to accompany her, nor an official date, she was finding it rather daunting to strike up a conversation with someone new. Normally, she was a social butterfly, but with this being a New Year's Eve party, the added pressure to make a connection and share a kiss at midnight was just a little more than she wanted to deal with.
"Halle, you made it!" For an already loud room, Tony somehow managed to make his voice heard over the sea of others, even from ten feet away. Halle turned at the sound of her name and fought back a smile at the exuberant man as he parted the crowd and headed right for her. He looked as he usually did; expensively crafted suit, suavely styled hair, and those almost ever present sunglasses. Worn inside, no less. Maybe it was to hide how drunk he was, but Halle almost doubted that. It was just his way of presenting the Tony Stark image. Hell, he may even have it trademarked.
"Stark, nice of you to find me," she said rather flatly as he sidled up to her at the bar. The bartender immediately slid him a drink, probably one of the perks of playing host. The bartenders already had his drink order memorized and prepared immediately when they caught sight of him approaching.
"Been looking all over for you. Midnight isn’t that far away. After all, gotta have my midnight kiss." So perhaps he was a little drunk.
"This isn’t a press tour. I’m helping your public image, remember? This is a private party. You don’t need me, and you’re not owed that kiss if that’s still all I am to you." Tony flinched like he’d been wounded. Maybe he had. Maybe he deserved to be. Halle didn’t care. She was the one that begun this arrangement and hence she’s the one who should set the terms of it. She wasn’t Tony's doll, after all. She was however, one of his publicity stunts and this was a no-press event. They were left on the red carpet outside like the vultures they were. Had to keep the Stark dynasty's squeaky clean image, and inviting the paparazzi inside a Tony Stark party was the worst thing for that image.
Without another word, Halle slid her empty glass towards the bartender, got up, and left him there. She wasn’t about to be at his beck and call, whenever and wherever he wanted. That wasn’t their agreement. One of these days, he was going to have to understand that. Boundaries had become all the more important to her as her days and nights with Tony passed by. She recalled what she’d said to him when they struck that deal. "Don’t go falling in love with me, Stark, because I assure you, I won’t be doing the same."
'Professional' had become the key word to how she behaved around him now. It was dangerous for both of them if she behaved otherwise outside the ever watchful eye of the public. She’d already made that mistake enough. She let Tony get to her and she knew if she didn’t put that professional distance between them, then it would only end badly for her, possibly even for them both. She wouldn’t say she’d gone so far as to have feelings for him but—
"Hello. Don’t you look lovely tonight?" The compliment, thinly veiled as fully sincere, Halle knew better than to take as such. But it had taken her out of her thoughts, and for that alone, she was grateful. They were starting to go to a place she didn’t want to visit just now.
When she focused in on the young man behind the blatant pick up line, she found him to be rather handsome. Out of what may be spite, or at this point just boredom, she decided to let him flirt a while. "Thank you," she replied. "You look pretty good yourself. I like a man who can clean up well." She regretted the line as soon as she said it, as it brought up an image of Tony to the forefront of her mind.
"I’m Chase, and you are?"
"Halle," she said, thankful once again for his ability to keep her from staying in her own head for too long. Halle then let him get her a drink, and they chatted. Halle was all too aware of the time on the clock, having decided to let this Chase wear down the minutes until she chose whether or not she’d let him have a kiss at midnight.
Chase hadn’t turned out to be nearly as interesting as he was handsome, going on and on about how he’s got this great job at his father's company and is set to make so and so odd dollars in the coming year. Halle really started to tune him out in favor of watching the minutes go by. Setting aside how positively dull he was, Halle made the decision to let him kiss her anyway. It’s not like it was a contract for anything else between them, and maybe, should Tony see it happen, it would remind him of where they stood.
The countdown began, and Chase finally shut up about himself long enough to join in. He seemed rather confident about getting what he wanted out of her, so Halle wouldn’t have to prompt him or even give permission when the countdown ended.
"Five…four…three…two—" the chorus of voices echoed in the room, but Halle's own voice went quiet when a hand grabbed her wrist, tugging her away from closing in for that kiss with Chase and another hand on her waist spun her around, held her steady and dipped her low to the ground. Before she found the breath to protest, a pair of lips met hers and the hand on her wrist moved and interlocked their fingers instead. When she realized who it was, she didn’t fight it, but she didn’t allow herself to kiss him back either. She wasn’t about to give Tony that satisfaction.
Confetti filled the room, red and gold flakes littering the floor and sticking to her hair. Tony let her back up on her own two feet where Halle freed herself fully from his grasp and was able to catch her breath and find her voice again. She only used it after the hoots and hollers of the enthusiastic partygoers died down. Mad as she may have been, she wasn’t about to lose her cool and start yelling. She may not be able to stop herself.
"That was quite a show," Halle finally stated, crossing her arms as she spoke. "I thought I told you that my New Year's kiss was off the table."
"You did," Tony confirmed, a cocksure grin plastered on his face. "But that was before," he followed up.
"Before what," Halle asked, not letting go of her rigid position.
"Before you walked off without letting me tell you that I might have…maybe, some…possible feelings for you."
Halle's eyebrows shot up in surprise as she froze mid breath. That was the last thing she was expecting. As she processed the information, she finally exhaled slowly and evenly. What the hell did he expect her to say to that?

Madelaine O'Sullivan - Lindsay Arnold - When Josephine disappointed their parents, all the pressure to be perfect landed on Maddie’s shoulders. She never stepped a toe out of line, hoping that would make her parents go easier on her sister, but it only served to make her own life hell.
Cora Lewis - Natalie Alyn Lind - Fun and fearless, she knows how to keep her "bad boy" friends in line. But beneath all that flash and sass is a broken heart. Manager at a tattoo parlour, and not anywhere near opposed to decorating her own body.

Halle's Comet - Part Two (Tony Stark x OC)
Summary: Tony's revelation leaves Halle reeling and all she wants it to put it behind them for now.
Word Count: 1,063
Warnings: Angst, meteor shower
It felt like all the air was sucked out of the room at once. "Can we talk…elsewhere," Halle asked. What she needed now was a clear head, and a room full of noisy and excited partiers was not the best environment for that.
"Meteor shower starts in a few minutes. I know a real good place for a nice view." Tony's offer was punctuated with an exaggerated wiggle of his eyebrows, which Halle did her best to ignore.
"Is it quiet?"
"Completely," he assured.
"Then it’ll do. How do we get there?"
Again with that grin, Halle noted. It could only mean one thing. They’d be flying, and Tony would be using his suit to fly them there. Not her favorite mode of transportation, but one she could live with. Of course there’d be hell to pay with her hair tomorrow, no doubt tangled in beautiful blonde knots, but right now that was the least of her concerns. "Meet me on the roof in ten," Tony instructed.
And hell if Halle didn’t take the extent of those ten minutes in getting there. She meandered her way through the party like a maze, going at a leisurely pace until she reached the elevator. With just a couple minutes remaining on her deadline, and the roof not being all that far away from the floor the party was on, she took a deep breath, releasing it as she pressed the button to go up.
Fully suited up, Tony was already there waiting for her. Punctual, for once. She almost laughed, but held it back. Tony reached out his hand to her, and Halle took it, slightly put off by the cold metal feeling of it. "Hold on tight," Tony said, bringing her in close. She knew the suit was more than equipped to keep her from slipping and falling to her doom, but part of her still didn’t trust it. Tony may be a genius, but that doesn’t mean his inventions were infallible.
With the clear night and low winds, the trip went smoothly. Tony landed them safely on the roof of a building that was by Halle's account, several miles away from the party. An observatory, by the looks of it. Doing whatever it was he did to disassemble his Iron Man suit, Tony once again stood before Halle in his outfit from the party, this time sans those trademark sunglasses. This side of Tony she was more comfortable with. Despite having about nine or so months to acclimate to the presence of Iron Man, Halle still couldn’t quite wrap her head around the superhero side of Tony Stark.
"You wanted to talk? Talk." Right. That is why they were here. Yet Halle still found herself at a loss for words. Her hesitation made Tony uncomfortable, so he filled the awkward silence himself. "So, okay, yes, I remember what you said to me when this whole publicity crap started. I even had money on you falling for me before the first month went by. Made Pepper a rich woman that day. Well, rich-er—"
"Tony," Halle interrupted.
Tony focused back in on Halle. "Not the point. Got it. Look, this was the last thing I expected to do tonight, but when I saw you with that boy—"
"Young man," Halle corrected, "but go on."
"I couldn’t just stand by and say nothing. I couldn’t watch you kiss him."
"I’m not sure that was your choice." Hands balled into fists at her sides, Halle was trying to keep her temper from flaring. "Actually, I’m sure it wasn’t your choice at all."
"I’m sorry, Halle. I am. I didn’t handle that as well as I should have. And I don’t need an answer from you now about the—"
Here, Halle interjected, not able to hold herself back anymore. "About your…how did you put it? The 'might, maybe, possible' feelings you have for me?"
Tony hung his head, muttering. "Yeah, that sounds about right. Didn’t handle that the best either."
"No, you didn’t," Halle affirmed, her voice finally softening a little, losing its bite after letting off that bit of steam. "But maybe…just for tonight we can forget about everything that was done and said, and enjoy the meteor shower before it’s over?"
Surprised, Tony picked up his head again and smiled. One of those genuine smiles that still had the nasty habit of making Halle go weak in the knees. "Sounds like a plan to me," he agreed. Neutral ground. He could work with that.
Giving her a moment to breathe, Tony walked to the other side of the roof, looking for the best vantage point to see the most of the meteor shower. Halle was thankful of the reprieve of tension between them, and the physical distance served to help her clear her head. Whatever answer she’d give Tony, whenever she’d give it, was something she could think about later. Now, the night was clear, the sky was brilliantly lit by stars and the occasional meteor that came shooting by and she wanted to enjoy it.
Entranced by all the activity in the sky on her side of the roof, Halle beckoned Tony over to join her. "You should see it over here," she called, turning his direction. He took his eyes away from the sky to see her face beaming with a smile that he could have sworn was brighter than the stars themselves. Tony took a moment to let the image soak into his mind, not knowing when, or if he’d be able to see another one like it. But when the scene changed behind her, Tony knew he’d waited too long. Their meteor shower was about to get a little too real. It shouldn’t be this close.
When Tony suited up, the last thing he saw before his helmet closed over his face was the smile on Halle's lips as it fell into a frown. She wasn’t seeing the same thing he was. She had no idea of what was behind her. Did she think he was taking off on her, abandoning her on the roof of an old observatory to just find her own way down? He wished there was time to explain it, but he couldn’t even make it across the roof to her before her side of the building was hit, crumbling right out from under her.

elyse was always meant to be the heir, the promise that eastern germany needed. but ingrid was there too. born into a new prussia, one made great by her father and without any of the baggage that elyse already had in-laid in her crown.
ingrid was always a spare when it came to politics, and as much as her parents tried, elyse demanded so much of their attention, and they had an economy to rebuild. she was left to her own devices frequently and developed her own relationships with prussia, germany, and the rest of the family.
either by fate or intervention, ingrid and her aunt grew close. the queen of switzerland had a contentious relationship with her brother, the duke. how could she not? decades separated by a border and years of frederick blaming emilia for abandoning their people in their hour of need. and for what? something as mundane as love?
the battle had continued with their children, but max and elyse had been such an easy pair. quick allies in the nursery. as quickly as emilia and wilhelmina, duchess of prussia, had worked to solidify that bond, ingrid became another battlefield.
the duke’s death was a tipping point for all involved. elyse was thrust into the role of grand duchess, her glorious and prophesied ascension made true. she set off on a path and dragged the rest with her.
the kaliningrad affair, and the subsequent independence of prussia, threw everything for the family up in the air. elyse was clearly a strong but chaotic leader. emilia, for all of her support of pro-prussian policies, found elyse unmanageable and too much like her father for her tastes. so the queen played one of her cards, gifting ingrid with her own prussian title, one that emilia had held since birth, the countess of dresden.
elyse, still struggling to consolidate power and wrangle her nobility was furious. giving ingrid power of her capital, handed her sister power that elyse wasn’t ready to give. it’s meant that elyse has had to play nice with a sister she doesn’t really know, and ingrid finally has a chance to speak. everyone’s very curious to see what she’ll have to say.
