Inspired by the $24K Louis Vuitton Alma BB bag in exotic crocodilian skin, I made this bag cake for my mother-in-law’s birthday last weekend.🎂🍰🎉🎁💝💼 Yep, that’s what kept me busy and worried since Friday night and to the next morning!🤷‍♀️.⠀ •⠀ We had a crazy hot weather these past few days and I can’t work on it in the kitchen.🥵 It’s at 38ºC or maybe more, the fondant was melting on my hands and becomes really really soft! I was so worried and thought I couldn’t make it for the party cos I already promised I will😧. ⠀ •⠀ I was so desperate that I brought all what I need in to our bedroom to start decorating the cake. I heard it’s perfect to work with fondant in an air conditioned room— in my case, to our bedroom! 😃😜.⠀ •⠀ And since the kids are co-sleeping with us, I have to keep an eye on everything or the cake will end up a disaster😜. I know they won’t sleep until it’s daylight so to keep them behave while I’m working on the cake, I kept their mouth busy. That’s why I also make sure to have their snacks within reach. 😊😉.⠀ •⠀ I finally made it!🎂💼🙌 But as a beginner, it’s really time consuming that I don’t have the proper decorating tools yet. For the embossing of the croc’s skin, I just used a clean soda tin can and shaped it in different sizes. To create the stitches, I have to also manually do it one by one with a toothpick 😜.⠀ •⠀ I’m so happy of how it turns out!
