Oh my, kids! Great! :3 What do they all think of their uncles?

In general, all the kiddos love their uncles, and the uncles absolutely adore the kiddos.

Specifically, the kiddos do kind of have favorite uncles:

Randy

Uncle Stretch (just cool, knows pokemon, tells the best stories),

Uncle G (has the coolest job, tells cool stories about different places he's been, can do that cool trick with magic hands that Randy really wants to do),

Uncle Red (always has candy, consistently ignores the "no treats between meals" rule and tells Randy not to tell, teaching Randy to play video games and gave him his first gameboy)

Cherry

Uncle Tango -- dances with her and swings her around

Uncle Papyrus -- runs really fast with her so she can scream with joy

Uncle Boss -- funny; tall and pointy and grumpy; says a lot of silly stuff; Poppy's daddy.

Someday

Uncle Sans -- he lets her drive his big telescope and works at the hands-on center, which is really cool, and he makes funny jokes like Uncle Sansy

Uncle Papyrus -- he is really strong and fast but he lets Someday win races

Uncle Sansy -- he's so funny and he makes funny faces and tickles her and hugs her so good

Uncle Lucky -- he's teaching her to play piano and he sings nice songs.

Grace

Uncle Sansy -- he so funny and he lives at her house and hugs her

Uncle Smiley -- he has a cool house (read: his casino, where she's only seen the dining room), he's funny

Uncle G -- he does a big job and he brings her things

Gideon

Uncle Sansy -- he reads to Gideon

Uncle Rus -- he have puppies and reads to Gideon

Uncle Aster -- his house made of books! He reads to Gideon

Uncle Black -- he reads to Gideon and he silly

Poppy

Uncle Red -- most likely to take whatever gift she's got in her pocket when she presents it, even if it's a bug or some mud

Uncle Comet -- has lots of flowers and lets her pick some

Uncle Pumpkin -- has maminals on his farm EIEIO

Uncle Sunny -- funny, has maminals EIEIO

Uncle Rus -- has puppies! Big puppies. Poppy ride?

OKAY SO NOW IM READY TO ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT MAREEP AND GRACE INSTEAD OF JUST DRAWING THEM BEING GAY!!!!

So!!!! I'm pretty sure by now that yeah, I can add them to the Live & Learn Au, so here's how that'll work:

I'll start with Grace since she's the one I have the least to talk about (SHE'S NEWER I'M SORRY I'LL DEVELOP HER MORE</3).

Grace was originally going to be a fankid like the rest of the original characters in this au, but that went against a personal headcanon that I decided to include in the au a while ago, and while I haven't talked about it and therefore there wouldn't be any problem changing it, it still bothered me too much, so now Grace is just an oc (hence the change in species she had, so she wouldn't have anything that linked her to her original parents).

Tha way Grace appears in the story needs a bit of context to be properly explained: I recently decided that the Restoration (the one from the IDW comics, that used to be the Resistance from Sonic Forces) will have something like a 'Teen Program' which is kind of just preparation??? For the teenagers because at this point the canon characters are all adults and have decided that yeah no they can't keep putting children in those situations NSLDJSLFKWK so they go through training and all that stuff. This group and program has Destiny as their leader, btw!!! And!!!! Grace joins this program:) (I just decided that Grace is 17).

And now Mareep!!! I'm super excited for her because I was thinking about her story in the shower (as one does) and GUYS!!!!! I THINK SHE'LL HAVE HER OWN CHARACTER ARC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOHOOO

SO Surge and Lanolin are exes, making Mareep a child of divorce (not really they were never married) and she's like a very edgy and nihilistic teenage girl who goes ugh and rolls her eyes at everything. She's also childhood friends with Lash!! But she's kind of a bad influence, since she usually just wants to drag Lash with her to be an angsty teen. And Lash used to go with her, but when she became closer with the rest of our kids (especially Aim and Spades) she started hanging out less and less with Mareep, and realized that she was a bit toxic.

They still talk, but Mareep has a very obvious resentment towards the group Lash is hanging out with, and even Lash herself.

And that's all I'll say about Mareep for now!!! There's more I have planned for her but haha it's too soon to talk about that:)

AND YEAH I HOPE YOU ENJOY THEM!!!!!! as of right now they're still pretty separated from the rest of the kids, but I'll find a way!!!!>:)

Skeleton Children

There are currently six babybones hanging around in The Best of All Timelines, with a seventh one on the way. All the kiddos have fonts but we didn't use their entire font name for their names. (Covered By Your Grace Gaster is just a little bit of a mouthful...)

The kids are:

Randy Bistroke Gaster (@pureangleda and Blue) -- 5 years old

Cherry Swash Gaster (@pureangleda and Blue) -- 2 years old

Someday Joy Gaster (mine with Sweets) -- 4 years old

Grace Optima Gaster (mine with Sweets) -- 2 years old (twin)

Gideon Roman Gaster (mine with Sweets) -- 2 years old (twin)

Poppy Osseus (Boss and Trashy) -- 2 years old

Blue and Ray (@pureangleda) have two kids: Randy Bistroke and Cherry Swash.

Randy Bistroke Gaster is 5 years old. He just had his Pokemon birthday party back in December. He's in kindergarten (or maybe junior kindergarten based on his age). Randy has a round skull similar to his dad's and big blue eyelights. He's got his mom's curly brown hair, which he doesn't like having cut. (It's getting a little floppy lately.)

He loves Pokemon and generally anything that lets him run around and pretend he's great at battles like Dad and some of his uncles. He also loves to give hugs. His standard greeting is a big hug and "I'm Randy! I love you!" even to people he hasn't met. (His parents are working with him on that.) Right now Randy wants to be a Pokemon trainer when he grows up. Or a detective like Uncle G. He's not sure yet. He adores his baby sister Cherry. She's the best baby sister in the world!

Cherry Swash Gaster is 2 years old and the oldest of the Two Crew. She loves to move and recently started a baby ballet/gymnastics class to help her get all her energy out. She's also moving out of a "No Clothes!" phase. (That was partially solved by getting her ballerina outfits, but now the girl is a glitter bomb...) She tries very hard to keep up with her big brother and her older cousin Someday, but she's also besties with her twin and her cousin Poppy. She is absolutely fearless, something which causes Ray near heart attacks almost daily.

Sweets and I (Anne) have three kids: Someday, and our twins Grace and Gideon.

Someday Joy Gaster — My little sunshine girl. Sometimes we call her Sundae instead of Someday because Randy couldn't say her name right when she came along. She's full of joy and has a big, beautiful smile like her daddy's (but, Sweets notes, without the need for orthodontia). She's a little blondie right now but that might change as she gets older. (My hair did.) She likes to have her hair in pigtails or braids. She wears glasses (currently pink ones). Her favorite phrase is "Me too!" She's jealous that Randy gets to be in big kid school when she's still in pre-k but she loves her teachers.

(Covered By Your) Grace Optima Gaster — Twins with Gideon. They're the youngest of the Two Crew. Gracie is my wild, headstrong girl. She looks a lot like her Uncle Sansy. She's got just enough brown hair for a couple of little floofer pigtails, and very expressive golden eyelights. Her favorite phrase is "Not fair!" Out of the twins, Grace is the chatty one. She never has an unexpressed thought and her vocab is impressive for a two year old! (Don't ask which uncle taught her some of those words. No one has confessed.) She adores her twin but will often run ahead of him and then remember and run back.

Gideon Roman Gaster — My sweet serious boy. He was born a few minutes after Grace and is much quieter than her. (There are trees quieter than Gracie, but that's beside the point.) Gideon looks a lot like his daddy with about the same amount of brown hair as his twin. He's got deep blue eyes. Gideon is very shy and tends to look pretty solemn. He's definitely a little bit of a mama's boy right now, which is absolutely fine by me. While his sisters are running around, Gideon likes to go at his own pace and observe everything. He also loves to be read to. If there is a grownup with an unoccupied lap, Gideon will wander over with a book and ask, "Read?" No one can resist those big eyes!

Boss and Trashy have one daughter, Poppy, and one baby on the way.

Poppy Osseus is our final member of the Two Crew, but she was actually the second one born. She is already proving to be a spunky, energetic little thing and she absolutely loves the outdoors. She would spend every moment of her life outside if she could. Poppy alternates between insisting on pretty princess dresses (especially if she can wear her fairy wings with them) and overalls with "cool shirt". (The current "cool shirt" has a black cat under a mushroom and has been deemed the "Doofmanger" shirt.) She has a cute little curly brown pixie cut at the moment and insists on accessorizing with bows and barrettes and hats. (Sometimes all at once.) Whatever she's wearing, it better have pockets, because Poppy will put every rock, flower, bug, cool bit of moss, or mudball she can find into her pockets. She likes to share her collection. More than one uncle has been shocked to hear "Lookit!" and be handed a roly poly bug/caterpillar/dandelion. When she's not outside, Poppy hosts very fancy tea parties with Daddy. Boss keeps a picture of the two of them looking very fancy on his desk at work.

Basic info about them (From left to right):(Paramedic) Juniper Torres-Müller, A Maria X Tomoe fankid (I love Erhard/Maria/Tomoe as a ship), stuggling as the next leader of the Tachibana clan, and struggling with Müllers past, she wants to live up to everyones expectations.

(Diagnostison) Delphine Holden (A Holden x Fan oc ship) Stuggling with living as Holdens 2nd child after the 1st died so soon, and with a mother in such a high role as an ex caduceus member and current lawyer, she feels she can't live up to be either.

(Forensic) Claude Kimiashima: (Naomi x LG) After going parially blind while working as a FBI agent, they kick him off, now being stuck as his backup, a forensic examiner, he comes to term with his vison, peoples expections for the visually impared, and his families unfortunate past.

(Surgeon) Rose "Rosalia" Tachibana Müller (Maria x Erhard) struggling with her fathers past, and her loss of hearing, she wants people to understand her father, herself and her hearing, after hearing about her fathers false inprisonment, she wanted to work in law like Naomi, but seeing what happened to Rosalia, she works in surgery instead.

(Endoscopy) Holly Stiles (Darek x Angie) With grace and elegence, she wants to be diffrent from her parents, even though she could've worked at caduceus, she wants her sense of self, and more importantly, to be seen as diffrent from delphi or her brother, Finn

(Orthapedics) Kenneth 'Finn' Stiles,With a wanting to know about his past, he gets into a dark rabbithole, but still remains just as sharp as his father, and as percise as his mother.

@jupernaturalweek day 3: sustenance! featuring my Gabriel fankid Joan! You can see her in this FANTASTIC piece by @this-is-z-art-blog . (Also this one. And this one.)

Joan sits next to Kelly on the wicker couch on the porch, careful not to bump into her. She hands Kelly a coffee sweetened with hazelnut creamer, and Kelly gives her a conspiratorial wink. This is their routine: on Saturday mornings, Castiel goes to get groceries, and Joan and Kelly sit outside and drink coffee and chat. When Castiel gets home he will scold Joan for letting Kelly drink it, but he will also have gotten them another container of hazelnut creamer.

Joan sips her own coffee - Kelly asks, “Did you remember to add a little coffee to your creamer this morning?” - and looks out over the lake. Joan uses a trickle of her Grace to keep their mugs warm. Castiel would scold her for it, but Joan knows how to hide her Grace in birdsong and the whisper of wind through the trees.

Kelly is telling her a story about working in the White House (which Joan understands is a big deal, even though she doesn’t really get it) and Joan is half-listening, because she doesn’t know what a Secretary of Commerce is or does. She is busy thinking of her mother. She never thought much about her mother, because she knew her for all of 47 seconds, but she thinks about her more now that she knows Kelly. Did her mother love her as fiercely as Kelly loves Jack? Did her mother sit on the front porch of that cabin and drink coffee even though she wasn’t supposed to? Did Joan remove the chemicals from her mother’s blood the way Jack does for Kelly?

Did Joan’s father chase after her and her mother the way Jack’s chased him? What would it be like to be wanted so desperately?

Joan loves talking to Kelly. Kelly tells her about music and celebrities and politics. Joan tells Kelly about frogs and the tides and flying. Kelly teaches her about saints and sins on Sunday mornings after she watches a church service on the television. Joan listens but doesn’t believe, and she knows that this, too, is something Kelly is doing for Jack.

Joan does not like talking to Castiel. Every single angel she’d ever met had tried to kill her. She felt justified in assuming that Castiel would do the same to her and Jack as soon as he could, no matter what Kelly or Sam or anyone said. She’d ignore him or snap at him but he still kept trying.

When he went to the store he’d get everything she put on the list, and then would get her things she didn’t even want. Sweets and fruits and little toys and trinkets that matched the ones he bought for Jack. She’d told him to stop. He didn’t.

She told him that Jack wouldn’t be born a baby, that he wouldn’t need a crib or a Baby’s First Teddy or a little pouch for when he lost his baby teeth. He told her that it was for Kelly, not Jack. She already knew that. She just wanted him to be wrong.

For her entire life, the only things Joan has owned are the clothes she is wearing. The only things she ever thought of as Hers is the necklace sitting heavy on her neck.

But now she has a bedroom. Her own bed and her own window and her own view of the lake. Castiel gave her her own cellphone and Kelly taught her how to use it. She has every gift from Castiel she didn’t want lined up on the windowsill, except for a small stuffed toy that is resting on her pillow. She has a YouTube account and an email address.

If they stay longer, she’ll paint the walls. She’ll put a second bed in her room and that way Jack can sleep nearby so she can keep him safe. His toys can fill the space between hers. She’ll teach him how to hide himself and his Grace and then maybe once there’s two of them they won’t have to hide.

Castiel is in the kitchen trying to cook dinner. Joan can tell from here that he’s failing, but she also knows that when the fire alarm starts up, she’ll use the noise to cover up her Grace as she manipulates the molecules of their meal so that Kelly can enjoy it. Kelly’s show just ended and now they’ll chat until Castiel is done burning the chicken.

“Are you named after someone?” Kelly asks.

Joan shrugs. “Maybe.” She didn’t have enough time to ask, and she had no idea what family her mother may have left behind.

“I wonder if it’s a family name? Or maybe you’re named after Saint Joan of Arc,” Kelly mused. Joan had been wondering the same thing since she was given her name. Something in her gut screamed at the idea of being named after a Saint. Kelly was talking now as though it was a goal to strive for, and honor to be given; it just made Joan feel hollow.

“I don’t think that’s right.” Castiel’s voice was quiet when he interrupted Kelly. He looked at Joan like he could see right through to her core. “It’s Joan, from Yochana. God’s gracious gift. A Jewish origin is far more likely.” He nods towards the chain around her neck and Joan can’t breathe.

So she leaves.

She flies into town, hiding herself in a cold front. She stands in front of Beth Shalom for too long. Her mother gave her a name and a necklace and a command. For the first time Joan realizes her mother had given her a community, too. Joan doesn’t know what to do with that, so she stands on the sidewalk outside the temple until the sky is dark and full of stars.

When she gets back to the house, Cas is sitting in the living room. He’s holding a book - one of Kelly’s romance novels - but she doubts he’s actually reading it.

“Say it again,” she demands. “The- the Hebrew version.”

“Yochana. The direct English translation is Johana.”

Joan closes her eyes. Her mother gave her four things in 47 seconds and Joan hadn’t even known. “What if that’s what she was trying to say but she said Joan instead? Did she want me to figure this all out on my own or did she try to give me something more?” Castiel tilts his head and squints at her. She can feel panic clawing its way up her throat. “What if I want to be Johana and not Joan? She only had time to give me a few things so is it wrong of me to throw one away?”

“I think she would want you to be happy,” Castiel tells her. He’s silent for a moment while Joan struggles to remember how to breathe. “Yochana is the feminine form of Yochanan. It’s a variant of Yehonatan. The English version of that is Jonathan, which is the origin of the name Jack. No matter what you decide to do, that is something the two of you will get to share. You were both a gift.”

“Oh.” Joan sits down on the couch. She stares at the floor. “I’m glad I’m not named after a Saint.”

Castiel hums. “Yes, I think that Johana suits you much better than Joan of Arc would. Would you like to make some challah with me? I’m not very good at it. I have Dean’s family recipe though.”

Joan doesn’t like Castiel. She doesn’t like talking or being near him at all. But. “I’ve never made anything at all, so you’re better than I am. Will you teach me how to make that sound? I want to be able to say the name right.”

Castiel smiles at her the way he smiles at Kelly, and stands up to lead her towards the kitchen. “Of course.”

Marnie! Though I'm toying with Marlowe as well. But Marnie was her original name when I first started stuff for her in my head

Of course!! I'd set 'em up, let them have fun in the playroom. I think I'd have a whole play kitchen for her 'cause she'd help me cook suppers and so, a lot of her pretend play would be cooking. Amongst the very real pirate journeys in her cardboard pirate ship, or, her boat shaped bed!
