so a Yellowjackets AU where mari says something to get herself kicked out of the cabin, and she dies of exposure and gets eaten at the bachanalian banquet instead of Jackie, who LIVES, who's there at Shauna's side when she goes into labor, stroking her hair and letting Shauna squeeze her hand hard enough to sprain her fingers, who keeps Shauna calm enough she has a (comparatively!!!!!!) easier delivery, who is the reason the(ir) baby lives.

and one day in 1998, Canadian forest rangers happen upon that American high school soccer team that went missing 2 years back. they find a group of starving teens and a baby, a little over a year old, two of the girls wrapped around him--and each other

This chapter hit me like a fucking truck - because it's the first time I've ever seen someone describe loneliness/desire for friends with food....As you guys know I love cooking. I love food. It's why this manga appealed to me so much - cooking for other's is my love language. I love making meals and people eating them. It brings me joy - and eating alone makes me very sad and lonely (In my apartment I try to only eat while on call...eating breakfast alone always makes me feel lonely).
Its why I have restaurants I always wanted to try but never go - the point of a meal to me is to share it with someone. It will never taste as good alone, at least to me...I'm glad I'm not alone in this feeling, and that it got put into words. Anytime I mentioned this people told me 'who cares just go alone' afdgh

Consoling myself over the fact that I’m spending my favorite holiday (Easter) alone with the fact that at least I have a dinner planned (kielbasa, pierogi, kapusta) and I have a thematic hyperfixation to indulge that day.
#my family lives 2000 miles away and I’m saving money bc I might have to fly for a funeral in the next month and I really don’t have time for#any trips but like it is a holiday I miss spending with my family and it’s been since 2020 and that was a Not Fun time#grad school has been me coming to terms with spending holidays alone and realizing that decorating for them and having festive meals is#IMPORTANT and makes me enjoy the day more!!

almost nothing is worth losing sleep over, I decided this after being 22. academic failure is better than losing a single night's sleep over something so silly. but at the same time, this proposal was due a, week and a half ago,
#what do i say when i turn it in. sorry but over the past few years i've seen the ultimate futility of trying to have a fulfilling career#when i hate interacting with other people in person to the extent that i do#and it's made every assignment feel meaningless in a system that i know is mostly#a way that you pay for a job where you get a consistent schedule and a living wage#and aside from all that i'm so burned out from everything i've done since i was 18 that eating 3 meals a day is a real challenge#and even if i was successful at this and got to a stable job & did middle class activities it still wouldn't be enough i wouldn't fit in#my family still wouldn't be happy i still wouldn't be capable of having real connections irl without mimicking my way into it like a robot#i did try to do the assignment 4 times though#have a nice day?#i can't say all that i run out of good excuses so i just simply don't say anything :)

kinda disappointed with how this weekend went. I mean, it wasn't bad! but it was our first weekend in the new apartment, and I/we wanted to get a lot done. I already did a lot during the week (a lot for me, not a lot for most people I guess), but there's lots of things that I can't do/can't do on my own, either because I'm too short or not strong enough or I need someone else to hold something or whatever. which realistically just won't get done during the week because my husband works full time, so. it sort of sucks that only one very small, unimportant thing got done. 😔
#like. there's no rush. not really.#I mean we do get our kitchen in two weeks so we'll have to have space to install it then lol#but other than that it's fine#except everyone constantly makes me feel like it isn't.#they're so judgmental and shitty about it#yeah it's chaotic and messy as hell. there's boxes everywhere. we've only found some of our kitchen stuff so we're mostly eating microwave#meals with plastic utensils. all of that stuff#so fucking what? it doesn't affect any of them! I wish they'd just stop commenting on it but they don't.#well. at least it's just over the phone now. I haven't seen my or my husband's family since we moved in and I'm not planning to anytime soon#precisely because they will not stop doing this no matter how I react to it#like in what world would that ever do anything good? it doesn't motivate me to get shit done any faster. because guess what? I'm already#going as fast as I can.#like. I've had (maybe still have) a middle ear infection and been on antibiotics all week and I still got so much done! that's good enough#and this part is fun to me! I like that nothing is finished and everything is possible and new and different#it does also stress me out but so far it mostly feels like an adventure#anyway. I'm just venting but seriously why is everyone I know irl so mean all the time?!#personal

i think i'm gonna try one of those weekly meal prep delivery services because genuinely at this point trying to plan meals every week and setting aside the time to grocery shop and prep and cook and all that shit is really getting to me and it's not lookin good here folks lol

im so annoyed with everything today, i think i need some tasty food and a million hours of sleep and then I'll be back to normal
#the teacher at the first class today was so dibsjdhdhdhdhsgs 😫#like she was teaching us things that are like unrelated to the class that shes teaching so idek why she was teaching it#but also its things that we have been learning since the 1st semester and we've done them in at least 10 classes and she was acting like#this was the 1st time we were hearing about it#like oh yeah we're on the 7th semester of studying nutrition but no one bothered to tell us how many calories are in a gram of fat#and she gave us homework 'to see if we know this' like#oh yes i can make a meal plan for a child with crohns or cystic fibrosis or celiac disease or everything else we've done this semester and#all the other semesters but i guess i cant tell you what micronutrients are in this one breakfast meal#like fuck off and stick to what you're supposed to be teaching#anyway i know im getting more annoyed than i should but she was just even more annoying than usual today#like she interrupted the lesson every 5 minutes to yell at someome to be quiet i wasnt even aware there were people talking until she yelled#anyway#also my new earphones aren't working well idk why ive definitely not been mistreating them that much for them to break in less than a month#like i had my old pair for at least 4 years until the broke and i dont think the wire got cut in them like the sound was coming out weird#but there was sound coming out. in the new ones you need to hold them in a very specific angle for sound to come out#and like im careful with how i put them away so what is up with them?#my theory is that they make wired earphones shitty on purpose so that you will spend a lot of money and buy wireless#also we had said from Tuesday that we would hang out with my friends today but i guess they forgot or idk and they made other plans#(to go home and sleep) and during the weekend the one friend wont be here and next week my family will be here so we probably wont hang out#again until next year and we have exams almost immediately so we wont be hanging out much then either#also my period is supposed to come soon and i hope that it will either come today or it will wait until after Christmas#ideally it will never come ever again but we cant always get what we want#anyway im gonna go eat the rest of my μεσογειακό and go take a nap#jo says stuff#personal ramblings

i... i didn't know what this meant so i had to google it and the answer is no sir! i eat ingredience by choice, we have plenty of sensible snacks around the house at all times but i choose One Whole Cucumber as my snack of choice instead.
