sokka will say something literally correct, but his friends will disagree and then clown on him mercilessly for saying that (true) thing, and then even when he ultimately proven unambiguously right, everyone can only remember how relentlessly he got clowned on. which is actually a perfect representation of having younger siblings, no notes

obviously, i love when tv shows resort to adapting defamatory rumors about the borgias, in fact it makes stuff spicier for good television! but i have that pet peeve and it is the false narrative with zero factual basis that i keep encountering while reading biographies about the house of borgia that the scholars really need to fuck off with them, and it's the whole irritating narrative that juan is the pope's favorite son, and cesare is consumed by jealousy towards him. which is total bullshit when cesare in fact received so much affection and appreciation from the pope as much as juan received (if not more than juan) cesare was the one who has always been consistently by their father's side and enjoyed immense popularity in rome, even among the artists who hailed him as the most handsome man in italy, and machiavelli was all over him. basically cesare was the renaissance's main prince. so there's nothing that indicates that cesare is jealous of juan over literally anything, and it's just the biographers being overly dramatic about him by giving him the "from zero to hero" trope (read maria bellonci's 'the life and times of lucrezia borgia' because she dives deep into this topic)
and no, cesare didn't hate juan. it's quite the opposite! his letters to his younger brother are full of tenderness, guidance, and fraternal love. it's another borgia famous rumor that needs to die down in biographies.
let's take sarah bradford (the author of 'lucrezia borgia: life, love, and death in renaissance Italy' and cesare borgia: his life and times) for example, and how she deliberately cut the part where cesare signs his letter to juan with "dal vostro fratello che vi ama com se stesso." translated as "from your brother who loves you as himself" because of her unnecessary haterism towards juan since she likes hyping cesare at his expense.
she also manipulated a document about the ambassador who visited cesare. here's a snippet from her book:
the actual translation from the document (praising both brothers) :
at this point, i'm convinced that if sarah bradford (and authors like her) didn't burst blood vessels for one minute by projecting her one-sided beef towards juan onto cesare with her unfair, incorrect statements of him she might start getting chills and have a stroke
that's it for now! i'm planning to make a masterpost about stuff like that because there are a lot of infamous rumors that some biographers tend to resort to, which is truly exhausting lol

sorry I find it insane to call it transmisogynist to say that trans women do not get menstrual periods. a period isn't just any sort of cramping or emotional change resulting from hormones, it's the result of a specific interaction between a hormonal cycle led by processes that occur in the ovaries and specific kinds of receptor cells that exist in the uterus and ovaries. cis women who don't have a uterus/ovaries also don't have periods. it's not a metaphysical thing that affects you for nebulously Being A Woman.

everyone likes to make fun of damen saying his argument at the trial was just “your honor he is innocent bc. i love him” but that’s not true at all!
damen speaks specifically of laurent’s character and behavior with his army, his servants, his people, and his devotion to vere in general. he calls laurent dedicated and honest, all relevant contradictions to the accusations made against him in this stupid ass trial.
he gives a coherent testimony about laurent as a person from his perspective since the first time he met him on the way laurent was outside of the fact that they were lovers and AFTER that the very last thing he adds in for a little flavour is that damen enjoyed laying with him implications of that being basically no guys laurent is not a depraved freak
and in fact the first person who claims damen’s testimony is just a love declaration with no weight is the regent.
which it's not to say that it wasn't a heartful declaration when it was, but it was also a valid testimony for god's sake, literally no worse than guion’s was. it just wasn’t aligned with the regent's intended result of the trial.

It's really vile how Zionists speak so loudly claiming that to be Jewish is to be Zionist, that most Jews are Zionists. They're relying on some notion that most people don't know anyone who is Jewish so can't deny that claim, I guess.
But most of my extended family - my grandparents, my many aunts and uncles, my many more cousins - and many of my childhood friends, and friends today, are Jewish.
I learned to be against Zionism when I was very young, because they taught me that anti-Zionism is not antisemitism. I learned to be against Zionism because they have spoken loudly about the need to end to apartheid in Israel and Palestine. I continue to be against Zionism because I, and the Jewish community that I know, stand firmly against genocide, apartheid, and colonialism.
I would have come to this point regardless. To be anti war, anti colonialist, and to stand up against police and military violence and genocide, has been a through line of my beliefs since childhood. And I have also been lucky to know and learn from Palestinian classmates about their lives and struggles. But I can't deny the strong influence my Jewish family has had in steering me to be against Zionism.
My point is: you can't claim to me that all Jews, or even most Jewish people, are Zionists. I have known plenty who aren't.
I'll stand up and speak out against antisemitism when I see it, but to equate being against Zionism with being antisemitic is a vile tactic to erase the many, many Jewish people who stand in solidarity with Palestinians of all backgrounds.
If being friends with Jews and wanting them to be safe as an ethnic and religious group, and to be against Zionism, seem like two contradictory statements to you -- I hope you learn to care for your fellow humans a little more, and I don't want to know you until you do.

what I love about this post is that it’s so clearly wrong. both of these people are obviously wrong. like there is a topologically correct answer to this question and it’s neither of these

haven’t seen much of anything about the trial but it’s over already i guess and jonathon majors was found guilty of assault and harassment. it feels like when megan was in her trial against tory recently and everyone and their dog was insulting her and saying she was lying and then the bastard who shot her was found guilty.

if someone feels like everyone should have their pronouns in their bio or somehow disclose their personal pronouns always everywhere it feels like they've somehow lost the ability to use gender neutral pronouns cuz they loaded gender neutral pronouns with some kind of gender so when they use they/them pronouns on anyonw they feel like thwy could be accidentally misgendering that person.............. with gender neutral pronouns...... because they think gender neutral is like.. non binary or something..........
